So... The bark block, is a block, entirely composed of bark and is supposed to look like bark on all sides.

How did they screw up such a simple concept?

I don't know how. I can see it being a knot in a huge tree but when one wants to build a smaller tree with branches and exposed roots, it's a completely different texture taking up a relatively large surface area that just ruins what the bark block was trying to accomplish in the end.

I mean, at this point I just don't see why we shouldn't just go back to using logs.

I recently discovered this little jewel of Indie gaming after a friend referred me to it; after which it was featured in my favorite gaming magazine. After messing with it a bit and sinking about $15 into it I really started to get addicted to this puzzle, construction, action, adventure game. Now I'm hooked; when I'm not on NSG its Minecraft, when I'm unable to get online I am scheming about new things to build or new ways to use the various features of the game to build fortifications, traps, and mazes to keep the undead from entering my fortress/mine/farm/home/etc.

How time changes, eh? Last time, Minecraft was a little nobody, an indie game in the vast world of AAA titles. Now it IS an AAA title as far as I'm concerned.

Enough with quoting old posts and reminiscing, time for opinion. Well, I have obviously heard of it, but never played it that deeply before. Windows 10 on my laptop came with 2 days worth of free-play as trial, I believe, and... that's it. I can definitely see the appeal of it, since it felt like virtual Lego, and you have no limit to how much things you can have.

With that said, what version would be the best, if I suddenly just want to jump into the game like a newbie?

The Java edition is the best, IMO. It's the oldest and longest developed, and still is often at the head of continued development.

t. Have a friend who makes good money doing stuff in the game for Microsoft. He can't say specifics about anything but he has hinted that the game is still going strong and that Microsoft made a good investment.

I personally don't play MineCraft anymore. The game is just repetitive.

Also, I have an experience when playing Minecraft PE several years ago (perhaps four or three years ago), where I constructed a town. While still unfinished, I had finished buildings like marketplace, church, port, town hall, some houses, etc. I built it for three months, until I played multi-player and it got griefed and destroyed

I had built something a couple years ago and a friend got onto the server with a friend of theirs, and I was busy filling in land, and when I looked at what I had built it had water and lava running all up and down it. I un-friended them and had to fix what they did, but I ended up taking it all down since it was ugly as fuck anyway and I certainly did better with what I built in its place. I don't forgive them, though, whoever they were.

I also destroyed the town I mentioned in my earlier post. I don't like the griefer too
