Ah, well. At least we have three great albums from them already.

Yeah, it's disappointing compared to the last couple albums. There's a lot more focus on the story this time around, and the music suffered for it.

For me, the lyrical concept was the strongest point of the album. There was some twisted fucked-up shit. I found that I appreciated the album more when I read the lyrics as I listened.

Overall, it's a weak 7/10. At least it was better than the new Ensiferum.

Since many metal musicians seem to live in a (mythical) past when you read the lyrics of their songs, that makes perfect sense.

Negative we will take it as a reasonable pace and keep the thread as it always was.

I've picked up that sentiment over the years from various persons, so I'm pretty sure you're not the only one on this planet. Not that it really matters to me, since I've always been more of a Motörhead man myself.

So i take it you prefer the good version of Hell Raiser and despise the alternate version of Ace of Spades?

The only alternate version of Ace of Spades that I know of is the "Rare Version" that can be found on the "Dirty Love" cd released by Receiver Records back in 1989.

sorta like that one except the version i'm referring to has butchered lyrics, a slower riff and some other odd shit.
i think it's the 08 version
