You're right, they are. Didn't notice that. So why does it appear twice in the boneyard?

Here's another mystery in the Boneyard:
Former nation Beibertopia
Founded: Fri Feb 4 2011
Ceased to exist: Fri Sep 4 2015
Population: 455 million
How did that nation only amass 455M pop in the 4+ years it was active?

I have only 3.5 billion in almost 3 years since I joined. Most of the time between July 2013 and October 2014 was CTE-time.

I think he was referring to you giving him the nation password, rather than you letting it CTE for 5 years or so, then have a small chance of gaining the name when it becomes available.

I know what he meant. Hence, "Not likely." The "Besides," was secondary.

Holy crap...that means there's a nation that was founded a decade before mine that has less people than me.

Reserved Nations names lock

Postby Dark Templar » Thu Feb 11, 2016 5:42 pm

Hi I was wondering when you guys are going to visit the Reserved Nations names again. Some of these Nations have been gone since 2005.

From what I've seen they're nations that CTE'd when they were insanely big, previous moderators that CTE'd and nations that tarnished the name by pissing off the mods or breaking game rules.

I'm pretty sure that's something you put in your sig.

On a note more helpful to the OP, this is something better suited for technical.

Pretty much the ones that are permanently reserved are former mods, accounts deleted for rulebreaking, and accounts that had a large population.

All others are available after five years of inactivity in the Boneyard. Check there for names you are interested in.

I think I discovered a bug. This nation was mentioned in the history of an existing region (as the delegate of Warzone Airspace) so it should not be able to be re-used, even though its population was less than 500 million when it CTEd.

It is probably an extremely rare case that a nation that becomes delegate also CTEs before 500 million, and for their region to still be existing so it is mentioned in the history the region, but its possible, especially with GCRs. (There is at least one extremely prominent nation I would have claimed had I kept silent and really wanted to abuse the bug...).

It might also be worth checking if other criteria really blocks nation creation it is under 500 mill population. I believe there was an example earlier in the thread where an ex-WA resolution nation was able to be created.

No, he was not on it for a certain amount of time and the nation got sent to the bonyard, he then recovered it and I am guessing he left it again.

It means when a nation's name is used in say an issue and then the mods permanently "retire" the name.
