Now the poll is to find out the most influential raider over the past year, the most influential defender over the past year, the most influential raider of all time, the most influential defender of all time and the most well known game player currently.

Maybe not the most active, given he was on vacation for most of 2014. But he's got the personality and the reach. Invaderdom was given a little jolt in its step when Jakker returned.

In the past month, Xoriet has been taking on a lot of the work, but as a whole in 2014, Karputsk has played a large role in running the missions in defenderdom. Hard worker - exactly the sort of person that defenders look up to.

My personal inspiration as a defender and someone I've always looked up to. Pedantic, hard-working and very dedicated and principled. Even after six years of retirement, Free4All spotted, switched and defended slicker than a switch-blade knife. Not a smidgen of rust on this one.

Being supremely well known in NationStates isn't always a good thing because everyone has an opinion on you. Nothing you ever do is judged on its own merits, it's judged on it's "_____'s latest thing". It's a honour to be so recognized, but that doesn't mean it doesn't come with its disadvantages. At some point you stop playing as just a 'player' and become an 'institution' of which everyone has their own pre-loaded conceptions and notions. The most well known players, I would argue, are some of the least known of the bunch.
