The Region of Valkia is comprised of two continents. Valkia, called the North Lands, and the Land of Power, called the South Lands, comprise the two huge landmasses that make up the Region as a whole. Darussalam, to TurtleShroom's east, straddles both continents, and its landmass is called Meso-Valkia. Barboneia directly borders Darussalem to her northwest.

TurtleShroom and Barboneia generally are not very cordial to each other. TurtleShroom is the Region's dominant oil produicer by far, but all of the country's Regional neighbors except one (Darussalem) actively avoid using TS oil to avoid dependency. Barboneia does not have much oil within its territory, but the wild Northlands to its west and north does. Hundreds of thousands of Barboneians risk their lives, at the risk of literally being eaten by Kitsunes and Nekomimis, to dredge up the oil while hostile raiders swamp them.

This is why Finnish is relevant to TurtleShroom. TS oilmen and diplomats alike involve themselves to various degrees to attempt to curb Barboneia's access to oil, or to convince them to invest ina way more favorable to themselves or TurtleShroom.

All of this, of course, is done in Barboneia's language, which is a dialect of Finnish.
