Postby Atlantic Federalist Republic » Sun Jul 10, 2022 9:38 am

What are the resources used at YN to avoid or minimize natural disasters?
What are the natural disasters that occur in YN?
How are these systems distributed?
What are these systems and their technologies like?

What are the resources used at YN to avoid or minimize natural disasters? We have intensive monitoring of winds and precipitation across the country to locate storms and hurricanes across the country.

What are the natural disasters that occur in YN? So far they have only heard records of hurricanes, high agitation of sea waters, cold waves and intense blizzards.

How are these systems distributed? We carry out annual supervision and maintenance of equipment and study the area to determine what security measures are necessary and how many constructions have to be done or how long these measures lasted, security systems are very well distributed throughout the country taking into account the geography and local climate.

What are these systems and their technologies like? We usually install monitoring towers in strategic locations and within these towers they have several specialized employees who monitor the climate and carry out monthly questionnaires with residents to find out about structural problems or how to improve service. In addition to having several equipment for monitoring the winds as well as an application for citizens to report events.

The only places in Junatia that are prone to natural distasters (other than the gay tornado) is the summers archipelago. We have an alert system for when that happens

Since typhoons, tornadoes and earthquakes occur too much, there are many tornado shelters and earthquake-resistant houses.

Most natural disasters in Schmidt Island are from Mount Laptev, isolated far away from the mainpopulation. But, last time the volcano erupted was in 1967, 73 hikers got killed.
The precautions taken to all cities/villages less than 50 miles of the volcano have to be built in concrete.

We are very well prepared for disaster. After the Alaskan Pinensula disaster back in December-January which killed thousands of people, we have rebuilt houses stronger, made stronger dams and have made even more advanced warning systems.

In Yanigami Avalanche is the most common natural disaster since the country is mainly made out of mountains. Winters are harsh.

Tangatarehua is prone to a number of natural disasters and so has a large and well-funded government ministry, the Department of Civil Defence, to co-ordinate the response to disasters as well as prepare the public.

The country has sophisticated tsunami early warning systems and methods including klaxons, broadcast and an emergency SMS system that warn people in coastal areas to evacuate.

A similar thing applies to volcanic eruptions, with most dormant volcanoes monitored by satellite and seismologists for signs of movement and change.

The country has strict building standards to ensure a minimum of damage in the event of an earthquake.

Similarly, buildings are usually expected to be able to withstand a cyclone and the country has a sophisticated system of weather alerts and monitoring. Cyclones and typhoons usually strike several times a year and so in some ways are considered a routine part of summer.

In 250land and Vera the Awesome Army is tasked with natural disaster response. The army has a Natural Disaster Monitoring and Response Office which monitors and coordinates disaster response within the nation. The most common issues are weather related events such as flooding and drought.

Massive public works projects have been undertaken to manage water and reduce the effects of natural disasters. The most impressive of these is the Counterflow Canal Project built in 1962-'66 to redirect the Silv River and reverse its course in order to irrigate the formally arid Sanders Plains. The project involved the removal of eight million cubic meters of earth and was completed in just four years by 'Rapid Construction Brigades' working 24/7. On a smaller scale, thousands of retaining walls, lochs, dams, reservoirs and spillways have been built throughout 250land and Vera to manage water and reduce the impact of seasonal floods called Fayundo.
