Declaration on Internet Safety
Security Council,
Addressing the multitude of dangers of the internet,
Defining some of the previously mentioned dangers as scam pop-ups, identity theft attempts, and malicious viruses,
Recognizing the incredibly complex legal statutes surrounding these topics and the multitude of failed GA proposals regarding the issue,
Shying from the idea of attempting to legally abolish these practices,
Yet cognizant that the dangers of the internet still need to be addressed,
Yearning to lessen the amount of people victimized by organizations and individuals of ill intent across the internet,
Wishing to inform all peoples who belong to nations of the World Assembly of the following precautions which can be taken to avoid being taken advantage via the internet,
1.Being hyper aware of whom you share any banking information with,
2.Being prudent when deciding whether or not to open attachments sent to you via email from email addresses you do not recognize,
3.Being weary of ever granting “remote access” of any personal device to anyone you do not personally know,
4.Being cautious about whom you share any personal information with, such as one's legal name, address, place of work, or government issued I.D details (if applicable to one’s nation),
Hereby recommends that WA member nations share this information, as well as any other useful information or advice regarding the protection of oneself when using the internet.
