Almost got a medal

Sadly, 3-day stroke of getting medals was broken today, but Waisnor still got pretty close to the medals:

Konstantin Zaitsev represented the country in men's javelin throw. In Waisnor, Constantine was considered quite a good thrower, but he had not had great success in the international arena before that. Before the competition, the athlete hoped to show himself in the best possible light. And now we can say that at this Olympics Zaitsev showed his best result in his career.
In qualifying, Konstantin was only 10th, and even if this place still secured his place in the final, the result did not bode well for any big breakthroughs. However, the first attempt in the final allowed Zaitsev to get to the intermediate first place with a result of 88.29 meters and a margin of more than a meter from second place.
But the second attempt was unsuccessful, but not because of a bad throw, but because the attempt was not counted. Meanwhile Mauro Eldioka from Vilitan Union overtook result of Konstantin and pushed him to 2nd place. The third attempt was counted, but her result was not the best in comparison with the first - 84.77 meters. And by that time Zatsev was already in fourth - his result was beaten by Kennet Diboloca from Jovannic and Ryan Sweeney from The Licentian Isles.
Zaitsev did not succeed in even attempts, since the 4th attempt was also not counted. But the 5th attempt was odd, and they have not been canceled for Konstantin now. It happened this time too, his result improved slightly compared to the third attempt, but still, but still held out to the first - 85.39 meters.
Konstantin's failures in even attempts were not going to stop, since the 6th attempt was not counted. Thus, Zaitsev remained in 4th place, but this result was also very good for him.

At this moment Dmitry Duboenko just fought for the finals in diving. In the first round of qualification, Dmitry became the 9th, and this was a quite good result for him, but now he had to test the semifinals, and it was much more serious. Despite such pressure, Duboenko remained calm, or at least he looked like that.
His first dive was the easiest one in the program, Inward 3½ Somersaults, which Dmitry performed quite well. However, the next dive, Armstand Back Double Somersault 2½ Twists, turned out with some flaws, mainly during the entry into the water, for which he received fewer points than for the first dive.
But the problems for Dmitry did not end there, since the third jump, Back 3½ Somersaults, turned out even worse than the last one, and there were even more flaws in it. The judges did not exactly ignore this, so Duboenko received even fewer points and dropped out of the top 12, which passed to the final. At that moment it was clear that Dmitry could no longer make mistakes.
The fourth jump in Waisnorian's program, Reverse 3½ Somersaults, was lighter than the last two, so his performance turned out much better, and Dmitry returned to the top 12. Fifth dive, Back 2½ Somersaults 2½ Twists, was the same difficulty as those in which there were mistakes, but now Duboenko was able to perform it almost flawlessly, and this dive was the best for Dmitry in the semifinals.
The last jump in Duboenko's program, Forward 4½ Somersaults, was the most difficult. And, probably, Waisnorian did not cope with such difficulty and made a couple of serious mistakes, due to which Dmitry did not score points. As a result, Duboenko still made it to the final from 10th place and will compete for medals on the last day of the NS Olympics.

MOST SUCCESFUL DAY

THEME OLYMPIC SONG : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=100LtGMmd7U

By
IVAN BOŽIĆ

Dear viewers, welcome to the show dedicated to the Olympic Games in Electrum.
We entered just the end of the games. There was only one more day of competition left.
Today was a very successful day for our athletes, in fact, the most successful day at the games. Srednjaci won three medals today, gold and two bronze. Currently, our balance is four zlanr medals, five silver medals and six bronze medals.
After terrible and difficult beginnings in athletic competitions and the resignation of the top leadership of the athletic federation, things started to get better. Azletics has grown into our most successful sport at these Olympics. It is true that we expected it to be so. But today, our men's relay set a new national record in a time of 2: 56.58. in a fantastic and exciting final, the 4 X 400 m relay team of Marko Stergulc, Filip Koša, Vanja Kuštrović and Zdeslav Bošnjaković won gold in front of the Ostakin and Eura teams.

" Utrka je bila iscrpljujuća. Znamo da smo dobri a to smo pokazali u prijašnjim rundama ali sada smo zaista bili brilijantno uigrani i brzi. Bilo je gusto na kraju, Ostakin je bio jako blizu ali uspjeli smo." rekao je Zdeslav Bošnjaković, naša zadnja izmjena u utrci.

"The race was exhausting. We know we are good and we have shown that in previous rounds but now we were really brilliantly coordinated and fast. It was dense in the end, Ostakin was very close but we succeeded." said Zdeslav Bošnjaković, our last change in the race.

In that race, only our relay and the Ostakin relay ran below the time of 2: 57.00.

ATHLETICS — Men's 4 × 400 m relay — final (MEDAL)

1 Marko Stergulc/Filip Koša/Vanja Kuštrović/Zdeslav Bošnjaković (SRE) 2:56.58 NR
2 Vladimir Kapalin/Daniil Stain/Vladimir Karpin/Nikolay Nelker (OST) 2:56.72
3 Josh Kyle/Huw Carey/Dexter Fraser/Finn Tomlinson (EUR) 2:57.19

BRONZE TO SREDNJACI BUT GOLD GOES TO ELECTRUM

Srednjaci (SRE) 79-73 Ioudaia (IOU)

Another great success of our basketball. Srednjaci's basketball players climbed on the podium. Our players, in the match for third place managed to defeat the Ioudaia team with 79-73. This is the second big success of our players after IBC and second place. Two big medals in a very short period. Celebrating our basketball players is an extremely great achievement. At the Genia Basketball Cup we saw that this team is very good and very well coordinated.
They are all extraordinary and very talented players. It had to be proven on the field as well.

Paradinović was the best player of the match with 31 points, 16 rebounds and 7 assists.

"This is amazing. We are running out of strength. This season has been extremely difficult for us. We won the Genia Cup, we were second at the IBC and now third at the Olympics. All in a very short period of time. Honestly, I can't wait to get home, take the remote of TV in my hand and lying on the couch. I want a break of two weeks. For two weeks I don't want to see anyone or hear anyone hahaha! But now I will celebrate with the rest of the team, we deserve it. "said Paradinović.

In the final match, Electrum won gold in the dominant match. The hosts are deservedly Olympic champions. In the final, with 96-72, +24, they outclassed Kriegiersien and threw the home fans into a great delirium in the hall.

AFTER REGIONAL SILVER, THEY WON THE OLYMPIC BRONZE

Viktor Istarić/Jadran Bujković (SRE) 21 21
Seferino Paul/Carlos Martinez (SCR) 18 15

They played fantastic volleyball in this tournament and then got stuck in the semifinals. We hoped we could make it to the finals but then the shock. Defeat in two sets. They were almost helpless in that match.
We didn’t know if the guys had enough mental strength to come back after losing in the semifinals. But they gathered enough strength, arranged their game and won the bronze medal. The match against Seferino Paul and Carlos Martinez from Scorners had their uncertainties only in the first set. However, the second set was entirely up to our players.
Gold went to Kian Barrett and Joe Graham The Hannasean Federation. They defeated Linton Marchesi and Max Cole from Diarcesia in the final with a big turnaround 18:21, 21:11 and 15:10.

Joe Lighthardt wins Gold and Georgia Juan named Closing Ceremony Flagbearer
Image
Joe Lighthardt with his Gold Medal

The last event for Team Hopal would take place today, the Final of the Men's 1500 Metres with Hopalian Joe Lighthardt a strong contender for a medal, after finishing with the fastest time in the semifinals, and it would prove to be quite the thriller for Hopalian fans. Lighthardt at 28 is at the peak of his career, born in Germany Joe had always had an interest in running, and he was quite good at it, doing well in school cross country events, he had lived a good life and had planned to be a doctor when he was little. But his family immigrated from Germany to the newly founded Hopal when he was a teenager is search of opportunity, it was only then when he was unpopular at school and didn't have many friends that he started taking long distance running seriously and started considering it as a career path, in university he proved his potential to the coaching staff and he was referred to the Hopalian Athletics Federation where he would train and emerge as one Hopal's and arguably the world's premier long distance runners. And going into these Olympics he was seen as one of Hopal's best chances at a medal, when Team Hopal didn't look very good. But would prove to be a bit of a disappointment, doing poorly is his strongest events, the 10000 Metre and 5000 Metre. So the pressure would be on him in his weakest event, the 1500 Metre to perform, and while he might have had some difficulty at first he quickly got the hang of doing and did well, finishing in first place overall in the semifinals to advance as a strong contender in the final. Today that final came, with a chance at winning Hopal's sixth medal in its last event at these Olympics, and he would not disappoint. He would get off to a fine start, not quite as fast as he was in the semifinal, but good enough to keep up with the pace of the rest of the pack, it seemed that the rest of the runners were faster than they were in the semifinals, as was expected, though it seemed to surprise Lighthardt a little in that first lap. He kept at it though keeping up with the pace in that first lap, he would keep himself in contention, though he was a bit boxed in in that first lap. The second lap would be his opportunity to put himself in a better position, as all the competitors pushed and shoved and jostled for their positions. Lighthardt kept cool though, keeping his own and moving up a bit before the third lap. He would move up even further in the third lap, moving up to be right up there the leaders as they begun sort of breaking away from the main group, and as the pace began picking up he picked up his pace just as they did without much problem. As the bell sounded going into the final lap Lighthardt was in a good position to medal, and as all the leaders began sprinting he did too, it would be a heated battle for first place with each runner trying one up and outpace each other and Lighthardt would be right up there, it would be a close race with Lighthardt and Drew Noble neck and neck with Wilt Dobson, Eric Saban, and Vladimir Karpin not too far behind. But Lighthardt would pull away in the final 150 metres sprinting towards the finish with Noble trying to chase him down, being so close but ultimately not being able to do so. Lighthardt would win gold with a time of 3:33.70 with Noble just 8 milliseconds behind him. Lighthardt said after the race "This is a dream come true, I can't believe this. After all the setbacks that I've gone through, to think that I'm here it's, it's unbelievable. This proves anybody what I just did, only if they put their mind to it."

Rink von Windel was pretty angry about the Golf course.

„I know I am not the best. But the conditions here were not on an acceptable level. Wormholes after hole 3? If this is Olympic, then I will rather stay at home the next time and play at my club. Nobody did well and the most important skill here was luck, to survive the circumstances. I am very disappointed”, he told the press.

At the end he tried to brake all his clubs and wanted to play with his putter, hadn’t his caddy stopped him, shouting “You are not playing a Costner on me!”

He ended on a ranking he deserved, last but two, in front of Markus Milk, the third Kriegiersien.

In the Olympic village

“Am I now allowed to do it, Master?”, Rink asked grim, looking at his caddy, his driver in the hand.

“Yeah, sure, you do what you want, it is over and your money. Boss”, answered his caddy, looking away, head shaking.
Rink began to break or bend one of his clubs after another.

“Don’t know what that gives you now.”

“Satisfaction.”

After done with all of his victims, Rink took a deep breath and opened a bottle champagne.

“Champagne, after the big victory?”, sighed his caddy.

“Because I can.”
Rink sat down in a chair, looking around in the Olympic village.

“Could be so nice and instead we have a horrible golf course and a lot of peasants celebrating. Look at all these soldiers boys and girls.”

He pointed at Silvana and Sabine Ordo and Anora Firehead, who stood together with their medals around their necks.

“For the glory of the nation!”, he lifted the bottle in their direction.
The three looked at him, disgusted.

“Be careful, they could break your neck before you would see it coming.”

“A good dead then, he? But they wouldn’t dare to act before some General gives the order.”

He stretched and took another sip out of the bottle.

Shao Shaolin strolled over.

“Ah, another of the big fighters. With only Bronze. Embarrassing”, scoffed Rink.

“I am ok with the medal. More than what your highness got together.”
Shao sat down in another chair.
“You go home to your mansion and compensate your loss with some walk in the fancy countryside that you probably own. I will train again to better myself and prepare for the next competition”, Shao said, drinking a tea from a cup.
“And thanks to the medal you can live from that now very good, due to the shiny things our lovely president rewards for a place on the podium.”
“Yes, this is fortunate.”

On a TV Basketball was shown, Electrum destroyed Kriegiersien in the final. Another dunk pushed up the result to 20 points difference.

“Another dream destroyed by the host. Probably the floor is made extra slippy or sticky, so that only they can play there. Ha”, snorted Rink.
“You are complaining a lot. Maybe you should use more energy to cope with the situation. Others managed that.”
“Did you?”
“I defeated my opponent from Electrum. And others. Only Junya from Tikariot was just better today. All fair fights, you have to accept that.”
“I can accept that. But have you seen the golf course? This was a shame. A scam. The level of a fifth world minigolf club. Less!”, Rink shouted.
“And still others were able to accept the challenge and win. The way is the goal.”
“Your spiritual Hippie nonsense doesn’t impress me. I really tried, did not give up. But I have standards and they have to be uphold.”
“I can’t see your standards being very helpful. They seem to bring more pain to you than helping you to improve.”
Rink nodded, put on some sunglasses and leaned back.
“The interesting thing about that is..”, he began to imitate snoring noises.

His caddy shrugged.

“We wanted to use a wormhole to go to the beach, maybe a theme park, do you want to come with us? Tim Timey, the chosen flag bearer, will join us and some of the Volleyball players and Ponies. What was your name again?”, asked him Shao.

“Sure, sounds fun. I am Clem”, said Clem.
And they wandered off, while Rink was really beginning to fall asleep.

KOTIGA DAILY NEWS - Sports

XV OLYMPICS GAMES ELECTRUM
WITH TWO MEDALS IN TO LAST DAY OF THE OLYMPICS

writter : Luka Trošić

Dear readers, yes, you read that right in the title. Two medals. Silver and bronze, for us, both have a golden sheen.
Your reporter, me little one, can still say that the games were successful for us.
There were also great results in team sports but there were also surprisingly good results in individual sports.
We didn’t come with the goal of winning 20+ medals like Srednjaci or Bollonich or maybe Sylestone.
We didn’t even come to be first like Electrum, Quebec and Shingoryeo or Kelssek. We came with the goal of promoting the country, with the goal of winning at least one medal and for athletes to start a sports revolution in our country.
Having won two medals and after the success in team sports, above all I talking about basketball, volleyball and handball, investments in sports in our country have been announced.
Dotivija unfortunately did not manage to get a medal, but they did win a sports award for sportsmanship and fighting spirit.
The last day of the competition remains for both countries, us and Dotivija.
The men’s and women’s marathons will be a new opportunity for both countries to prove themselves even more.

Mytanija and Bollonich they profited the most. If we add Chromatika and Kriegereisen to them, then we have four people who will join these biggest sports nations.
Of those who definitely can’t be satisfied are Sylestone and Banija. Maybe we expected Banija to be in the top 5 at these Olympic Games in terms of medals won.
Quebec and Shingoryeo, Britonisea with ABEAN theme, Electrum and Kelssek are at the top of the table.

Græntfjall is one of the sports nations that failed to be in the top 5 and maybe that was expected of them. With 27 medals won, of which 10 gold, Græntfjall is in the top 10, but if we look at the total, both are below that group.
Kriegereisen is in third place and Mytania is very close.

“You don’t find it a little too revealing?” Gemma Guerrero, indicating with both hands the two-part ‘uniform’ she was wearing, asked her fellow athlete. Alicia de Ferrera was already shaking her head before the question had finished.

“It’s hardly much different to what I’d be wearing back home.” The noblewoman replied, leaning forward in her chair as she mopped olive oil off of her plate with a thin slice of bread. “You’re from Gironada, you wouldn’t understand these things.”

Gemma frowned a little and reached across the table to pick up her silver medal, the reward for a job well done. She caressed the award gratefully, running her fingers across its surface as she spoke. “We’re not that covered up,” she grumbled, “it’s too hot for that…” When Alicia offered no reply, Gemma complained again. “The men barely seemed interested in the game.”

There was a haughty laugh, Alicia was shaking her head again and her face bore an arrogant little grin. “They were interested,” she assured her compatriot, “You think it’s immodest?” She looked down. A towel was draped about her shoulders but it hardly mattered, nearly everything was on display from calves to cleavage, and impressive abdominal muscles. The two-piece bikini which passed for a uniform was patriotically emblazoned with the Espicutan flag and Alicia was aware that women from other countries had complained that the outfit was somehow sexist, even perverted. “I have nothing to be ashamed of, and nor do you,” she nodded towards Gemma’s body which, if anything, was even more athletically built. “We’re women, for God’s sake. The men can care about modesty, it’s not our problem.”

Gemma nodded her agreement tentatively. She placed the medal around her neck and allowed herself a self-satisfied smile. People back in Espicuta, especially her home city of Gironada, would be thrilled that their athletes had won a medal in their first Olympic appearance. Of course, they would also have seen her hopping about clad in damn-near nothing but the lump of silver weighing down her neck was all worth it, in the end.

Gironada, besides its top-tier football club, was bereft of athletic achievement. The city was Espicuta’s largest industrial hub and its residents were, perhaps unfairly, renowned for their prudishness by the rest of the country. In truth, the only reason Gironada’s citizens were more covered up was to keep their bodies clean from the industrial smoke. Gemma and her fellow Gironadans were commonly nicknamed ’Panuelos’ for the handkerchiefs they wore over their hair, a nickname they had accepted proudly.

“Of course, we’re really the lucky ones,” Alicia spoke again, tearing Gemma from her thoughts of home. She was stroking her tanned arms and her cobalt eyes were closed as she spoke. “The other girls will be far more covered up than us, nobody will be able to see the work they’ve put in. I know a girl from the neighboring barony, Isabel, who is in the football team. Such a beautiful girl, she’ll have to wear those ridiculous socks and a big shirt covered in branding, nobody will be able to see her like they see us.”

“At least the men won’t have to worry about that.” Mused Gemma, although really she didn’t much care. She appreciated her noble partner, but they were from very different places and had very different backgrounds. “What do we do now?” She asked, gazing over the cleared table.

Alicia de Ferrera scoffed, though she was smiling warmly. “Are you kidding? We send for more food and some wine and toast our good fortune.”

Excerpt of the Homily of his Holiness Augustus, Archbishop of Arcesius, and Autocephalus Amogus[1][2] of All Diarcesia

Hiagape tutheuna inae mazisu, amen.

In a few days, we will see the return of the men and women representing Diarcesia after many days of competition in the XV Olympics. With great gratiude, we welcome them back with open arms, who persevered against all odds. Congratulations are in order for collectively brining the most medals won for Diarcesia so far in the Olympics and therefore making history.

However, as we all know, nothing under creation lasts forever. Human accolades are temporary, but the life-giving grace of Christ is forever. We, therefore, invite you, as the delegates of the Kingdom of Heaven, to be the salt and light of this world and represent what a life fulfilled with Christ is like.

While I reiterate that our lives are fleeting in God's grand plan, He deemed it fit to grant this gift for us. He has a purpose set aside for us. And so do all the athletes who are part of the Olympics in Electrum. What does it mean? A way to exhibit the virtues extolled by Scripture, such as to love others as yourself and to be prepared for the Second Coming.

Some may ask, how could this be? Isn't the Olympics originally created in celebration of Hellenic pagan gods in antiquity? Yes, this is true. But not only did God allow it as part of His designs, but it was popular enough in Saint Paul's day that he even referred to it in Scripture! According to 2 Timothy, for example, "If anyone competes as an athlete, he does not win the prize unless he competes according to the rules."

Athletes have to follow the stringent rules of their discipline, as well as the training requirements set by their coaches. Just like them, we as followers of Christ have to keep in our hearts his commandments, and most of all, accept that He alone can bring righteousness to us imperfect beings. Those who accept Him, and allowed to be molded by the Holy Spirit in life, will be greeted in heaven with the sweet words of "well done, good and faithful servant."

We, then, are not here for ourselves. We are not here to promote our the glory of man, but to glorify the name of Christ. The great meetings of people such as the Olympics is a ripe opportunity to bring to light the darker sides of the human condition, and to encourage greater awareness of the need for greater unity among the faithful.

The Games are a means to an end. Although there is the temptation to succumb to the worship of worldliness, it also reminds us to emulate those who seek the gold medal by seeking the narrow path that leads to Jesus. To utterly surrender to Him and to bear our own crosses; to trust that He will not fail you and that the ultimate reward will be worth it. To exercise discipline and restraint in our everyday lives. And to be constantly mindful of what God has provided and to express our gratitude.

(On the conclusion of the homily, the below song is sung)

"O Lord our God, the Creator of heaven and earth, the Father of our nations and our Redeemer, our greatest blessing and savior finds the lost. Let us rejoice in His splendor, for His works are written in the stars, and His deeds are known to us by the wind. Let us sing of Him, and sing in the praise of the Lord. O Lord, our God!"

Having just qualified to the Men's 10m Platform Finals, Aleksandr Kuklov recalls some of the emotions he felt prior to his semi-final dive, including feelings of anger, self-doubt, and demoralization. The dialogue, as well as internal thoughts and feelings were originally in Polkopian, but the English translation of the event will be provided below.

When the lineup for the semi-final was announced, Aleksandr Kuklov was to perform the third dive of the evening out of 18 total athletes. For him, this was a massive disadvantage as he would not be able to see the majority of his competitors' routines before performing his own. This was not for the sake of altering his routines to differentiate himself from the others among the judging panel, but more for the sake of realizing what he was up against. He knew had had the potential to be the best, although he slipped up ever so slightly in the preliminary round, but those days were well behind him now and he had to focus on this event here and now.

"Ey, Saša," Pavel Isayev's voice called out to him from the bench. Isayev competed in the same event as Kuklov, but would not be competing in the semi-final today, as he was eliminated during the preliminary round, "you're third, eh? What was your score in the prelims? 510 or something?"

"It was 536.20." Kuklov shot back. He didn't even take the time to look back at his friend but rather chose to keep his eyes at the pool in front of them. Soon, the event was to begin and Kuklov couldn't help but to feel a little nervous as time grew nearer and nearer.

"Come on," Isayev got up from the bench and handed Kuklov a towel, "you know as well as I do that if you put too much pressure on yourself, you'll have a bad dive. In the prelims, I knew as soon as I walked up on that platform that I was fucked. I felt myself thinking that everything had to be perfect, and when I was in the air, you know, I felt myself turn and counted every degree my body was turning. One degree, two degrees, the entire time. I knew that even before my entry that I overcooked that dive. I don't want that to happen to you though, okay?"

Kuklov said nothing, but took the towel and held it up against his face. Eventually he let go and turned to face Isayev. "Yeah, I know man. Thanks. It's a lot easier said than done though, I don't know how to shake this though, this time just doesn't feel right, you know?"

Isayev walked with Kuklov to the bench and stopped right before sitting down. He burst out laughing and put his hands on his friend's shoulders, "No, I don't know, but you've got to loosen up a bit. Watch some of those video game playthroughs you like so much, what's the one you play, Cityscape Skylines? Maybe that'll take your mind off of it."

Kuklov managed a smirk and sat down, taking his phone out of his locker behind him. Isayev, meanwhile walked away, whistling, as he went to see where the rest of the diving team went off to. Kuklov turned on his phone and opened EEVEE, a popular video streaming app in Polkopia, and just when he was going to look up walkthroughs of the game, a recommended video caught his attention. Why Polkopian Diving Will Never Succeed was written all over the screen. Normally, these sorts of videos didn't bother Kuklov, as he was used to hearing criticisms from others who have no knowledge of the sport, but after a while, hearing this sort of thing takes a toll, and Kuklov had just about had it. He stood up and threw his phone on the ground and as soon as he did, the first athlete was being called to take their place at the platform to dive.

Before long it was Kuklov's turn, but he still felt that fire hot intensity well up inside him. Even as he climbed the ladder, he did so with seething rage, grabbing onto every rung of the ladder with such force that the pain shot through his entire hand, but he didn't care. Below him, Isayev and coach Gregori Yaravyeskiy watched and murmured among themselves at Kuklov's form as he climbed the ladder. Even from afar they could tell something was wrong, but he was too far out of reach to do anything about it. The two of them just hoped he could execute this dive without making an absolute fool of himself.

Kuklov stood on the platform, peering down at the pool below him, thinking of all of those back home watching him, just waiting for him to slip up like every other Polkopian diver had done in these Olympic Games. The reason Polkopia would never succeed in diving would not continue today, Kuklov thought, as he assumed his position. He stood at the edge of the platform, turning around so that his back faced the water below him. He looked down at his his feet, and nodded, before his eyes flew open and he hurled himself into the air, flipping himself over to perform two and a half summersaults before transitioning into a pike positioning, where he then performed one and a half twists. He allowed his body to relax as he flipped over so that he was completely upside down, and extended his arms above his head moments before hitting the water. As soon he was underwater, Kuklov punched, screamed, kicked, and let out all of the frustrations from earlier out under the water, so nobody would hear him, but eventually emerged as cool and confident as ever.

Kuklov took his place at the bench as the scores were tallied up. Isayev walked up to him and hugged him, whispering in his ear, "In all the years I've known you, I've never seen you dive like that. Keep it up." Isayev kissed him on the ear and backed up to make way for Coach Yaravyeskiy, who smiled at him and patted Kuklov on the back as if to give him the affirmation that he had an excellent dive.

Kuklov sat on the bench, clutching his towel as the next diver prepared to make their way up the platform. With each second that passed, Kuklov heard a voice in his head saying that he over-rotated one of his transitions, or his legs weren't perfectly vertical upon entry. These thoughts seemed to flood his mind with each passing moment, and Kuklov sat on the bench on the verge of tears until his score flashed on the screen.

553.80.

Kuklov buried his face in his hands and hunched over his towel, soaking his hands in his tears as they freely left his eyes. Meanwhile, everyone around him jumped up, screaming, shaking Kuklov as they danced around him upon seeing the diver's score. It was his best score yet and was a guaranteed spot in the final. Kuklov eventually stood up and hugged Isayev and brought in his coach to hug him too, before wiping his face.

"I can't.. I can't believe it," Kuklov said, sniffling between words.

"Why not?" Isayev laughed and ruffled Kuklov's hair, "We told you that you killed this dive, you should've known you'd get a good score."

"Yeah..." Kuklov said, smirking, before wiping away more of his tears, "You're right, I just.. I don't know what to say."

"Tell you what?" Isayev said, "Coach and I will be off to the side, watching some of these guys. You go do what you need to do and we'll fill you in on some of the stuff we see, okay? Take this moment for you and recover before the press steals you for an interview, okay?"

"Sure. Thank you Paša." Kuklov said, hugging him one more time before sitting down at the bench.

OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT (SECTIONS OF EPISODE)

Live At The Games
Games of the XV Olympiad
Day Seventeen

The opposite to "At The Games: Sunrise" is this show, which will be presented by Nicky Samuels. Nicky Samuels is one of Britonisea's biggest news presenters and a highly popular figure amongst younger people in the country. With a large online presence of over 1.5 million subscribers on Instagram alone, she definitely has a load of appeal, probably done to her humour and the warmth that she gives off - but can also get into the nitty-gritty of an issue to find out a solution to it. She will be bringing that to the Olympic Games in Electrum as she analyses the best performances from Britonisea and the wider ABEN delegation and also the performances that didn't quite live up to standard. Joining her is former Britonish volleyball player, Alex Hampstead who will also be providing commentary for both indoor and outdoor volleyball coverage on BVC. Alex Hampstead will be brushing up on his knowledge of other sports ahead of his debut as a presenter for this show. Finally, Kat Laurence will join the team. People would know Kat from appearing as a sports journalist both on screen and in written form. Kat has been watching sports for as long as she was alive and for her, an appointment as one of BVC's presenting team is a dream come true.

The studios of At The Games: Today will be in Port Grenville which will be home to 76 medal events at the Olympic Games

The final day of the Olympic Games was upon us but before that, we had to speak about Day 17s events! The ABEN Union dropped to fourth in the medal tally, but that doesn't mean we weren't winning medals. We won gold in the tennis women's doubles which were, similarly to Elizabeth's match, one of the most-watched events of these Games for Britons specifically. We also won two more medals, bronze - one for Estogium (who were, by far, having their best Olympic Games) and one for Nightom too. During today's episode, the three hosts went through each of the medal winners, discussing each of their journeys at the Games before speaking about the Union's performance in general. It was the last episode of Today At The Games and so they were going through the whole lot. At the end of the episode, they would speak to the flagbearer for the closing ceremony.

Image
Oswald Walsh
BRONZE
Karate - Men's 75kg+

Another karate medal for the ABEN Union sees it earn its eighteenth bronze medal at the Olympic Games. While Oswald would have wished that he made it to the finals, he was more than happy with the result in the Union. For ABEN, while the Union didn't seem to succeed very much in taekwondo and judo - only gaining one medal each in those sports - ABEN karateka really gave it their all and helped prevent a completely dismal result in martial arts.

Image
Leone Na & Abi Forrest
GOLD
Tennis - Women's Doubles

Leone Na has won her second Olympic medal in a row but this time she's had an upgrade from bronze to gold. Alongside Abi Forrest - her long time doubles partner - they steamed to victory in straight sets against the Pemecutanians they were playing. The match gave Britonisea's its twelfth gold in the Olympic Games - which is the same number of gold medals the nation had received at the 10th, 12th, 13th and 14th Olympics combined. Could Britonisea squeeze another one in tomorrow?

Image
Alyona Aleksandrova
BRONZE
Wrestling - Women's 50kg Greco-Roman

Finally, the last medal of the day came from Alyona Aleksandrova in the wrestling - making it ABEN's most successful combat sport (while its tied with Karate with four medals, Abenites received a gold, two silvers and a bronze in the wrestling, whereas in karate, ABEN received just bronzes). This is Nightom's fourth medal at the Olympic Games, and whilst they are unlikely to beat Estogium now, they can be proud of their return to the Games. Alyona was under the radar and so her win came as a shock to the ABEN officials and indeed the broadcaster who scrambled to get her put onto one of the main channels as it became apparent she had a chance of a medal. After they spoke about each of the medals won, and spoke about other sports (including Todlichebujoku getting their first medal, Foger Rederer of Adab winning his nation's first medal, Syden Su-Allen/Tion Brake's eighth place finish in the Men's Madison and Britonisea's flop in the women's synchronised artistic swimming), the hosts started to speak about ABEN's medal targets and the amount of medals they won per sport.

Image

Alex Hampstead: Now that is our medal tally by sports. You can see that Athletics seems to be the sport that the ABEN Union has done the best at, with Britonisea, Nightom and Estogium all having won one gold medal in Athletics. Gymnastics saw a gold medal for Estogium and one for Britonisea. We also won five medals in aquatics which includes our Water Polo bronze.

Nicky Samuels: Some of the sports that we didn't get a medal in - archery, handball, cycling - which will come to in a second, table tennis and, sorry, Alex - volleyball!

Alex Hampstead: It's alright! I'll try and get on the team next year and sort them out haha!

Nicky Samuels: Let's quickly speak about cycling. There are so many events that happen in cycling and I know we had huge medal hopes in BMX Cycling - Ernesto Arp obviously came 4th in that and just missed out otherwise that would've been sport number 20! What do you think about ABEN's flop in cycling?

Kat Laurence: Well, speaking on behalf of Britonisea, but despite the huge cycling uptake in the country, it seems recreational cycling doesn't equal competitive cycling - we're not a cycling nation in the Olympics and so while we won gold medals in the last two Olympics in cycling, I'm not that surprised that this year, we've missed the mark. It's unfortunate but that's just life.

Alex Hampstead: It was a massive shame for Nester, Ernesto and Charley though - those three boys were all hoping on walking out of Urban Park with medals wrapped around their necks and well...it didn't happen.

Nicky Samuels: Not great - I can't wait for the inquiries that will follow these Games! I am sure that cycling and rowing will be high on the list for the ABEN Olympic Association or whatever it's called. ABENOA does sound quite cool though. One thing I did want to point out though, now don't get me wrong - I ain't no sports specialist, that's why I've got both of you here to help me. It doesn't seem as though the ABEN Union has a sport that they excel in, is it? When I think about Quebec and Shingoryeo and their nine fencing medals or Kriegiersien and their combat sports, what can the ABEN Union hold to its name? I mean, I'm only using those two nations to compare to since they're ahead of us in the tally who aren't the host.

Kat Laurence: Well, being exceedingly good at a sport or two will certainly help your medal count, you're right! But as you can see in the table behind us, the ABEN Union has won medals in 19 different sports at the Games and who knows, tomorrow could be 20 - maybe cycling will come through for us in the end. You don't need to be known for a sport to do well - it's better, in my opinion anyway, to be flexible as a delegation. 44 medals exceeded the expectations of the Olympic Association by nearly 20 medals - that can't be ignored.

Alex Hampstead: Another thing to note is, yes, we did and with Pemecutan or Neu Engollon of the Teremaran Unified Team going head-to-head in the Mixed Doubles finals, it means Britonisea as a part of the ABEN Union will top the table in tennis...for the first time ever I think! Last time we did this well...XI Paripana Games, I think we finished in joint second with Electrum as Kernansquillec won gold, silver and bronze and topped the tennis table. You know, comparing it to the likes of swimming and athletics that have a huge number of events, the fact that the Union has tennis fourth-highest says that...maybe...that is the sport we're really good at. 2 out of 5 events is 40%! Same for Badminton too. No, they weren't all golds, but three out of the five events...we got a medal in them. Racquet sports are huge in ABEN and so I'm not surprised by this. A shame about table tennis, though, we haven't won anything in that sport for a very, very long time.

Nicky Samuels: Well....that is all true! Thank you very much Kat and Alex. I have a special surprise for everyone. It's time to announce who the closing ceremony flag bearer will be. People have been speculating who it will be and its time to put those rumours to BED.

Alex Hampstead: I'm very excited....

Kat Laurence: Who could it be?!?

Alex Hampstead: Well.....

The camera cut to a feed inside the venue for badminton. For avid watchers of the Olympics, they would have clicked who got the honour of holding the ABEN flag at the closing ceremony.

Nicky Samuels: Peter P Larry! Where are YOU!

Peter then walks into frame, looking all sweaty. It looked like he had just finished a match with a teammate off camera. He scratched his head before looking at the camera realising he was being broadcasted to millions back at home. He shot a smile before replying to Nicky.

Peter P Larry: Oh hey there! Hello Nicky! Hey guys!

Nicky Samuels: It has been confirmed - you are the closing ceremony flag bearer! How does it feel?!

Peter P Larry: Honestly, I didn't expect it! I was only asked this morning, "Hey, Peter, you've been chosen - are you okay with it?" and I was like, "Of course I am!!" I've been buzzing all day and I haven't been able to tell anyone why!

Nicky Samuels: Well, honey, it's because you're only one of two people to have won two medals at these Games for the Union so well done! This is also your third Olympic medal. How does that make you feel?

Peter P Larry: Yes, well, it's been great winning medals this time around. Obviously, my medal was with Jason Gordon in the Men's Doubles of tennis when Electrum last hosted the Olympic Games so it's great to come back here to this wonderful country and do it all again, winning a bronze in the singles and gold in the doubles - wow.

Nicky Samuels: You and William must be so proud of each other...

Peter P Larry: Of course! William is much younger than I am - a spring chicken. I've taught him all the knowledge I know and so now that he knows how to win a gold, I hope in the Olympics to come, William will continue winning for our country...and get his young brother to participate next year too!

Nicky Samuels: Aw haha, that would be cute. Right. One last question. What do you think about the tennis success this year?

Peter P Larry: I am very happy for Britonisea. All because I don't play the sport anymore, doesn't mean I don't follow it. I watched as Leo Garry rose to number one in the world in the NSTT and I've watched his decline at these Games which was very difficult for me to watch as Leo and I, we get on. Elizabeth finally winning gold was amazing to see, she's so great, and Leone and Abi also winning gold earlier on today were brilliant. Finally, us veteran Britonish tennis players are winning but I think, for us, time was running out and in 2022, a lot of new Britonish tennis stars will burst out onto the scene and after the successful Olympic Games we've had, I think we will allow the new generation of players to rise up so we can share the spotlight with them. I know Ricardo Toli and Jason Gordon will be trying their luck to get into the top 8 before the NSTT World Tour Finals this year - whether that's possible, I'm not sure. But we'll keep hoping.

Nicky Samuels: Brilliant! Thank you so much for the chat. I will see you soon, I'm sure.

The camera switched to Kat Laurence and Alex Hampstead who were standing on another side of the studio. They left a gap for Nicky Samuels who would walk in after her interview with Peter P Larry as the three of them close the show.

Alex Hampstead: Beautiful chat! Britonisea. ABEN Union. It has been a pleasure having you with us for the past seventeen days of the Olympics. We've taken through the lows and disappointments at these Games, but also the highs and new beginnings for our Union going forward.

Kat Laurence: The new partnership between the four nations of Britonisea and Aloquirbe, Estogium and Nightom have given us that extra push we've needed at the Olympics. All nations have broken their old records and all of you watching have indeed had a part to play. We cannot wait to welcome you back to the studio for the Winter Olympics. Who will host? We don't know but a little birdy tells me we might be going somewhere we've may recognise.

Nicky Samuels: I better be called by BVC for the Winter Games - I've got my winter coat and woolly mittens ready to be worn! I've certainly enjoyed these Games and hopefully, we can win that extra bit more in the track cycling events and marathons. We will be broadcasting all of the last few sports on television throughout the morning starting at 4AM for the final Sunrise At The Games. Today At The Games won't be back tomorrow but us three will be as we take you through the Closing Ceremony of the Games of the XV Olympiad.

Kat Laurence: There's going to be some great music there!

Nicky Samuels: Indeed there will be (winks) but from us in the studios, for the final time these Olympics - thank you for watching and goodnight!

As Nicky said the final words, the three hosts smiled before waving as the cameras panned out and viewed the whole studio that they were in. As the cameras stopped rolling, the deconstruction units moved in to start getting rid of the studio - BVC didn't want to pay for an extra day in Port Grenville - the city's local economy most definitely benefitted from BVC's rent there.

Day 17
Runcast

This is Runcast, and I'm your host, Gabi Charis. This is Edition 16.32 of my video podcast, for Day 17 of the XV Olympiad. Today's women's 10k was another disappointment. All of Ioudaia's runners finished behind their times from the XIV Games. Eliana Latona did the best, running a solid race only sixteen seconds behind her previous pace. But that was enough to knock her back from seventh to forty-first.

Phigaleia Tal-Ya finished about a minute off her previous pace, but that was due to a late fade, starting about 8k in. I was watching from the finish line, so I was able to talk to her after her race. She didn't want a formal interview, but said that she ended up running just a little faster than she wanted, and it came back to haunt her in the end.

But Chita bat Cythereia... Oh, poor Chita! She barely got a chance to race. Somebody slipped and fell not even 100m into the race, and caused a big pile-up. Maybe a dozen runners went down. It's hard to figure out what happened, since there's only normal-speed video of the race, not even regular slo-mo. Even going through that frame by frame doesn't tell much, because everybody was still bunched together from the start.

Some of the runners got back up and kept going, but Chita wasn't one of them. She ended up with a couple of women on top of her, and when she finally was able to get up, she was limping and holding her knee. That was it for her race.

But guess who I ran into today? Periandros ben Tzadik! I just happened to bump into him walking back to my hotel after the women's 10k. He was willing to talk to me, so here's what we said. This is even rougher than my last video interview, but here goes!

Gabi Charis: So, thanks for agreeing to talk to talk to me. So, what are your thoughts going into tomorrow's marathon?

Periandros ben Tzadik: Well, there's a lot of guys running, but my times have been good this year, so I'm hopeful. I've got a race plan, and it's the one I've been using about about fourteen months now. It seems to be working.

GC: Any thoughts about the competition?

PbT: Oh, wow... That's a toughie. I've watched some of their races: the last couple of Olympic marathons, and some things I've found in online sports reporting, but I can't say that I've really studied them. Anyway, I view the marathon as mostly an internal thing. Do I have the stamina, the plan, and the willpower to run it?

GC: So, do think you have--

PbT, holding up his hand: Let me stop you right there. Please don't make me Ioudaia's best hope for winning a medal tomorrow. I've got enough on my mind already.

GC: Oh, I, uh... OK, you got me. Sorry.

PbT: It's alright. But I do watch your podcasts from time to time, and they're really good. Champion gives running an OK amount of coverage, but more is better. So keep up the good work.

GC: Oh! Thanks!

PbT: I've got to go, so...

GC: OK, thanks for the interview. And I'll let that wrap up my podcast. Final Olympic results tomorrow. Until then,

Keep on runnin!

Rounding up some of the action as we await the start of the relay finals at the athletics track... Kelssek has won one silver today in cycling, as the men’s madison went down to the wire. Kelssek’s team of Porter Henning and Brad White took silver in that event. The podium was decided in the final sprint as the top contenders traded points in a back-and-forth contest. With Kelssek and Darmen tied for first going into the final sprint, Kelssek gained four points by finishing third, just beaten out by Scornerse who won the gold medal by finishing second in the final sprint. Meanwhile San Ortelio came from eleventh place to clinch a bronze by winning the last sprint and picking up ten points.

[Brad White] “This is definitely a big accomplishment for us. We did have a thought we could win gold at the end there, but the Scornerse team set themselves up really well and the San Ortelians were just flying.”

[Porter Henning] “We knew they’d be coming out and really pushing it to the end, and so it was just great we managed to hang on and really empty the tank for the finish.”

Cole McFadden did not advance from the heats of the men’s 10m platform, capping a disappointing Olympics for Kelssek diving, with no medals. It’s another sport Kelssek has historically excelled at, yet come up empty in Electrum. Glenn Black and Cole McFadden were fourth in men’s synchronized 10 metres and that’s the closest Kelssek came, while overall Kelssek only made the finals in two events.

[Cole McFadden] “Yeah, obviously it’s something I’m disappointed that I’ve not been able to reach. I was expecting to do a lot better, to be quite honest, so you have to take the bitter times when they come. It’s a standard that I need to reach and I’m confident in my ability to get there, it’s just... back to training, back to working to hit that level.”

But in turn it’s the velodrome that’s seen some great performances for Kelssek and some unexpected triumphs. Could there be more tomorrow as we head towards the final day of Olympic competition? The men’s keirin, women’s madison, and the final rounds of the women’s sprint will be coming up. And tune in for the closing ceremony at 14h30 Coastal where wrestling gold medallist Marika Beilen-Anderson will be carrying Kelssek's flag.

Qrono Island

“Oi! What’s this about now?”

“We need your help. The Island is in trouble from armed intruders.”

It was surreal to find a full rugby squad on a grassy pitch behind the Abbey in this environment, but that’s what Sebastian and Brogdar were looking at. Brogdar seemed annoyed, and Sebastian would address that later in private, but hoped he wouldn’t act too belligerent for the moment.
The ruggers wore the colors of Neu Engollon - purple, crimson, and gold, and the uniforms seemed to be fairly recent. They didn’t have the old lapel collars, which had disappeared for a myriad of reasons, mainly that it was an easy hand hold to bring a face closer for punching. They seemed to still be in excellent shape, which meant that they had been here a short time, or they were very well disciplined.

“The little brown robed buggers can deal with that. They seem pretty fuckin’ capable.”

“Yeah, they just make ‘em go ‘poof’ and disappear.”

“Who goes poof, now, Alex?”

“Fuck off, Bartie!”

The Gaul pilot struggled to keep the men on topic,
“Guys! Your attention just a big longer here...The monks can’t keep them out anymore. Something about strain on the time energy.”

“Who are you again?”

“Flight Lieutenant Sebastian Garnet of the Gaul Air Force at your service.”

“Can’t you just do a bomb run on them or something? Run your guns?”

“My aircraft is currently out of service.”

“Ah, that’s a fuckin’ shame.”

“Yes, we need to use some brute force here.”

“Beats running drills and scrimmaging each other all day.”

“Hang on, flyboy...Did you say they were armed?”

“Uh...yes.”

“Yeah, we’re not. Don’t always work to try to tackle a fella shooting an assault rifle at ya. I mean...a lot of us did our reserve time in the NEDF, but contrary to popular opinion we don’t just tote our issue rifles everywhere, and there sure as fuck wasn’t any weapons zapped here with us. Me and the boys aren’t risking our lives like that. We need to get home. We got matches to play in Electrum. It’s the Olympics, ya know?”
“I hadn’t heard that. I thought it was in The Kytler Peninsulae. What year is it for you?”

“2021.”

“Oh, so you haven’t been here that long.”

One of the smaller, skinnier players walked up to Sebastian, glancing sideways at his mates.
“Uh, no...I think we’ve been here a good two years if I’ve been keeping accurate track. We want to get back to our time, when we left.”

“Damn. I just got here from 2014.”

The rugby player put a sympathetic hand on his shoulder.
“You got a long haul ahead of you, Lieutenant.”

“That’s just it. We don’t...None of us. Not iff these guys succeed in fucking up the Clock. This is end times. You guys need to get with it and we need to figure something out to stop them or no one is going anywhere but dimensional purgatory...If I understand all this enough…”

“What are we fighting with, flyboy? Like we said before, we don’t have the weapons.”

“Didn’t I hear that there’s a tank here somewhere? What if they have a bunch of other stuff like that in scrap heap somewhere around the Island?”

“The tank is a rusted heap. There’s no guns lying around. We would have found them by now. Then again...I think we’re being magically kept out of some areas, so I don’t know.”

“Right, so if they can’t use their powers anymore, you should be able to access more area, right?”

“Sorry mate, I don’t think we can help you. I think you’re underestimating the monks. They seem to always have everything in hand.”

Brogdar grunted.
“Told you they not helps. Useless.”

The same rugby player walked up closer.
“Yeah, I think we’re done here. Take your big dumb fuckin’ Viking with you. He’s the useless one. Putrid giant owes us a ball.”

Sebastian looked sideways at Brogdar,
“Did you try to play with them, Brog?”

“They try to teaches Brogdar. Said Brogdar be goods scooms...Scrums? Brogdar kicks the ball off cliff.”

“Yeah, and he just kept trying to tackle everyone, even if they didn’t have the ball. Fuckin’ mental. Not easy to make a good ball with the materials they have around here, ya know? Took a bit to replace that one.”

Sebastian smiled, shaking his head.
“Ah, Brog...”
He turned back to the player,
“Still, that seems a pretty shoddy reason to let the world end.”

“Look, bud...Who told you the world was ending?”

“Brother Shnard. In the Clock Room.”

Suddenly, they were all silent and the ball was left in the grass as they gathered around. He had their rapt attention now.

The one they called Alex spoke,
“Bullshit! You were in the Clock Room? With Shnard?”

“Yes. Believe me or don’t, I think we’re done here, right? Me and Brogdar will have to plan on our own.”

“Hang on...let’s talk now, mate.”

On the Other Side of the Island

The Yellowsians had also climbed ashore, without completely destroying their boat in the process, but it wasn’t in great shape.

Einar Karlsson led them up a steep slope and they began to get to level ground. One of the commandos pointed over several meters to their West, another group was also scaling up the rocks and armed similar to the YSR black ops team. They wore bright scarves of a Southern Tavlyrian style around their necks.

This had to be the terrorist group they had been warned about.

They set up and began to fire on them, without any need for prompting by Karlsson. If they could stop them right at the shoreline, the mission would be a quick success and they could then focus on extraction. Immediately they began catching return fire. One of the JaegerFlok commandos rolled over, mortally hit.

The Arabs dashed up to take cover behind rocks, continuing to trade shots with their pursuers.

Fayez scampered behind a rock, in immense pain. He’d taken a round in the leg. He saw that Azad and Wahab had also made it to cover.
“I’m hit. What do you suggest now, Abbas? We’re going to be murdered before we even can try to make it into that castle. I thought these monks weren’t armed?”

“It’s called an abbey, not a castle!”

“I’ll try to remember that key point before I die!”

“I don’t think these are the monks firing at us. That’s that other boat we saw. Take a look, they’re wearing all tactical black, and not the monk robes we were briefed on.”

“I don’t need a bullet in my eye to confirm that, thank you!”

This was, perhaps, terrible timing for such a comment as just as those words crossed Fayez’s lips, Wahab took a round in his eye after poking his head out from behind a rock to fire his rifle. He slumped down and backwards, his hand seeming to reach for his now bleeding eye, but the damage was too severe. Azad, not particularly fazed by this given that Wahab had made the terrible choice of wearing a red shirt for this foray into time theft.

Azad crouched behind the rock after he had spent his magazine and fumbled around in his coat pocket for another. His fingers scrambled across the various contents—lighter, cigarettes, used tissue, magazine—aha! Magazine! He slid it out quickly and rocked it into place on the rifle, before releasing another fusillade in the general direction of people shooting at him. Truth be told, he could not make out much of anything in the heat of the moment. He may have heard the comment about these monks or special agents wearing black, but the gunfire was too deafening for him to associate any meaning with the words.

He hunkered behind the boulder once more, a trio of bullets chipping away at the top edge of the rock. He responded in turn, another handful of rounds sent toward the shadowy figures, but he could tell that they were outnumbered and outgunned. Especially with Wahab dead and Fayez wounded, there was no way they were going to be able to overcome this. A wave of panic came over him, as he desperately glanced for some indication of what to do from Abbas or Fayez or someone.

Fayez looked around, then winced as his leg throbbed. They were down to two able bodied men after the death of Hashem, and Wahab seemed to be out of commission as well. This was his fate, but he would make it count.
“Abbas! Azad! When I start firing, you advance! Get to the castl...abbey walls! I will keep covering as long as I have ammo. Be ready…”

Abbas looked at his comrade for a long moment. They had spent years in the QLA (Qasifyan Liberation Army) together, then made the jump to the Green Fedayeen Front when the QLA had begun to make unacceptable peace with the Gauls and their TSO lackeys.
“May Allah accept you with willing arms, brother.”

Then he looked down at the gear he had managed to salvage aside from his Kalashnikov. A satchel of explosive charges that were meant for the Clock, and a RPG-29. He would not take both. He opted for the RPG, strapping it around his back as he tried to stay low from the rounds pinging off his rock. They would not have enough men or...time...to plant the charges. He could simply point the RPG at the Clock and hold it hostage.
“I am ready, brother!”

“Alright. I don’t think Azad could hear me.”

“He will run. I will motion to him.”

Upon seeing the signal, Azad did just as expected: he ran. The covering fire from Fayez was enough to keep their enemies' heads down, and Azad just kept running. He did not know if Abbas was with him, or if he was on his own. All that there was was him, his feet, and his desire to not get shot. Somehow, through the grace of God or simply sheer dumb luck, the next thing he knew, he had plowed into the solid wall of the abbey. The force of the impact knocked him back, and as he sat in the dirt, he let out a faint laugh before he rolled over on his stomach to see if Abbas had made it, too, or if he had any pursuers.

Bounding towards him was a pair of those black-clad commandos that had put up a stiff fight. Quickly, Azad leveled his gaze in line with the sights of his rifle and fired a handful of rounds. Instantly, one of them fell with a wound to the chest. The other dropped, too, by instinct, but Azad knew his shot had not connected. He buried his head in the dirt as the inevitable response of gunfire sounded over his head. He waited for the pause, perhaps a reload or a repositioning, before he glanced up and fired back. His intention, however, was to suppress his opponent, and as soon as the bullets had left the barrel of his gun, Azad pushed himself up and ran for cover behind a corner of the abbey wall. Again, he glanced around for any sign of Abbas.

Abbas had watched Azad’s progress, as he hosed down two of the black clad commandos. He had definitely hit one of them. He had gotten much farther ahead of Abbas, as he had stopped to contribute to the suppressive fire to keep their unknown enemy down. Then he watched as Azad collided with the wall and bounced back, stunned. Abbas shook his head.

As he ran up, he saw the man that Azad hadn’t hit start to rise up. Even from this angle, Abbas could see that he was very Nordic featured, with sandy blonde hair. Oblivious to Abbas, the Nordic commando tracked Azad with his AR, preparing to fire…

The man, likely a Northern Tavlyrian, looked around in shock as Abbas followed up in Azad’s track. Abbas leveled his Kalashnikov straight into the man’s face and fired, blasting him back into the turf with the point blank head shots. Behind him, he could hear Fayez still hammering away to keep the other enemies down.

He bounded the last few steps, not sure where the energy was coming from other than the pure adrenaline boost that was coursing through him. He reached down and grabbed the arm of Azad.
“Come on, brother. It’s you and me now! We have to get around the corner away from this mess!”

Apologies to those who have been following the Qrono Island storyline. We just couldn't end it in speeded up, sloppy fashion, so we decided to leave it on this note and will continue on in a separate thread to the end. If you are interested in the end, please TG us and we will direct you to that thread when it is established. Big thanks again to Electrum for hosting!

Athletics President Threatens To Resign If Marathoners Fail To Win Gold

SCOTT CITY - Darmeni Athletics Association president Blair Scully has threatened to resign if none of Darmen's six marathon runners finish first in either of today's men's or women's marathons.

Not since the 9th Summer Olympics, held in the Kytler Peninsula many decades ago, has Darmen gone without winning at least one gold medal in athletics. So far, these games have produced a lonely silver for the DAA, with Marcos Benn's 400m second place finish being the only memorable thing to have occurred up to this point on the track at these games.

Today however, the attention of Darmeni running fans turns to the road, as Godfrey Brodeur, Pinchas Ó Maoláin and Fabian Small will traverse the roads of Agri for (hopefully at least) no more than a tad over two hours. The women should not be ignored either, as Raleigh Carson, Anita Toledano and Line Garrard are just as poised to run good times in the marathon as the men.

The pressure is on the six athletes to complete the race in first place and bring home at least one gold medal in athletics to Darmen, with Scully's announcement certainly adding to the pressure that the athletes feel. Scully has been president of the DAA since reunification occurred fourteen years ago and has provided the DAA with steady leadership, becoming one of the most respected leaders of any Darmeni sporting body.

Should the Darmeni runners fail to win a gold in either marathon, DAA vice president Aemilius Thurstan would be the most likely candidate to succeed Scully as president, having overseen the DAA's National Athletics Program which has produced many top runners over the past few decades.

Other notable events for Darmeni fans that will be taking place on the games' final day are the women's football bronze medal match between Darmen and Tumbra and the women's track cycling Omnium, where Sheila Boon will be hoping to improve on her bronze medal finish of the last games. The men's and women's swimming marathons will also be taking place, with Darmeni Iael Bryan being one of the favorites in the women's event.

LET'S TALK OLYMPICS EP11

Johnathan : Good evening everyone and welcome to our show - Let's Talk Olympics! I am your host, Johnathan Fugo and on this show we talk to some of the Brook stars who have gone all the way to Electrum to represent our nation. And today we have the heroes of Brookstation - those heroes who have made our nation proud on the biggest stage! Please welcome to the show Brookstation's last medal hope- Gabriel Simon !

[Gabriel come on screen]

Johnathan: Hello hello! Good evening . The Olympics have already come to an end and you know all of us enjoyed it a lot. So how do you feel?

Gabriel: I feel a bit sad. This Olympics was our first but yet we managed to bag a total of 6 medals including a gold and it was really good to see the young athletes of Brookstation excel in so many fields. But good things have to come to an end you see. Though few events are left today, let us hope for the best and cheer our athletes and wish them all the best in their future.

Johnathan: Yesss ! I feel sad too. I sadly have to end this show here and come back next year. It felt really good to take interviews and see our athletes to win. So considering the fact that you are the last hope of Brookstation and all the fans have their hopes on you. Your name has hit the headlines. How do you feel about it ?

Gabriel: It does make me feel a bit nervous from inside but still I will go strong tomorrow and show whatever I have to in the stadium and hopefully be able to make everyone proud. Apart from that I am really happy to have been able to qualify to the final in the first place and that is what gives me a lot of satisfaction. There were so many divers from all over the world who had come here to contest for the medal. I had also seen many of them as a child and admired them and now I am competing against them.

Johnathan: Good to hear but nothing to be nervous. You gotta show what you have got outta there and just relax considering 'our losing in finals' record. So how did come across this sport ?

Gabriel: Well I think it was the very Olympic games that inspired me to start diving. One day I was just casually watching television and I saw these people dive and do all the somersaults and cool body movements you know and I found it really cool and I asked my father whether there was some place in our city where I could learn diving and he took me to there where I started learning and few years later I got called up for the nationals where I failed but eventually I succeeded and got into the national team and today here I am in the finals of the world's biggest sports tournament. So I am really thankful to the sports.

Johnathan: Is there any notable memory from your career which you would like to share with us ?

Gabriel: Yes of course. I clearly remember my very first dive in my life. I dived from the 3m platform and when I was standing on the platform, I was legit freaked out. But I was brave, no doubt and I thought- Let's do it !! So I closed my eyes and just gave a jump but it happened so quickly that I barely had time to move my body before getting into the water. So it feels really good to have these childhood memories.

Johnathan: I agree completely. I also remember my childhood from when reading and writing had become a hobby for me." Weird hobby " - people used to say, but looking back at it, I guess it's just fine :meh:
So leaving all that aside, did you have any inspiration ?

Gabriel: Of course !! As I told that the first time I started diving I saw people diving in the Olympics and later on Guillermo Urretavizcaya has been my inspiration. Though I never saw him play live , my trainers always spoke about him and how he was a father figure in developing aquatics in Brookstation. I have seen some of his clips and I really became a fan of him.

Johnathan: What is the secret behind your success ?

Gabriel: I dont know really but I always used to visualize myself being in the Olympics since I was a child and I used to set goals for myself and try to achieve them. Until I achieved a goal, I didnt use to get peace so I worked hard toward achieving these goals and now my next goal is a medal at the Olympics.

Johnathan: Thats a good one. I like that

[Both laughs]

Johnathan: So lastly, is there anything that you would like to say to the audience ?

Gabriel: I am really thankful to my parents for giving their full support to me each and every time and I believe that I would have never come this far without their support. I would also like to advise everyone to do whatever they want to with utmost dedication and we should all aim for something and work hard to achieve it and that's all.

Johnathan: Well, I wont be taking up anymore of your time. You should take a good sleep and be ready for tomorrow. All the best !!

Gabriel: Thank you all so much. I will give my best in the field.

[Gabriel smiles and disconnects]

Johnathan: Well, we come to the end of the eleventh and the last episode of ' Let's talk Olympics'. Be sure to cheer our athletes and hope for the best . I'm your host Johnathan Fugo and I'll see you again on the next installment of our show. Till then, goodbye and goodnight! Meet you all again next year with probably better results.

Huge success in the Olympics as we bag 38 medals with the last day to go

We had made our way to Bunjil to take part in what would be the largest event of the year. The two weeks which would be marked on the calendar of billions across the multiverse for the extravaganza that is the Olympics. And our sportspeople from Bollonich were no different as they were excited to go to Electrum to take part in the Olympics and try to achieve their dreams.
And over the period of two weeks our sportsmen and women have more than shown to us that Bollonischian can in fact shine on the biggest stage as they’ve brought 38 medals home so far. For people unfamiliar with the Olympics, 38 medals are a huge total especially for a country participating in the Olympics for the first time. Very few delegations can actually match our medal total, with only 7 delegations out of 90 having equal or more medals than us. This shows how dominant our sportspeople have been in each and ever department of sports with them shining at their best.
Success by sport has also been very widespread with our participants medalling in 17 different sports. The most successful sport by medals has been Athletics while we’ve won the most gold medals in Aquatics. Wrestling and Weightlifting have also been sports where we’ve scored a good chunk of our 14 silvers and 16 bronzes from. The Bollonischian delegation comes in eighth on the medal table when sorted by medal totals. Medal totals as many of us believe are in fact a better way of sorting which is a separate debate which is not in our per view here hence we shall be moving on.
Bollonischian Team Sports also performed spectacularly as we bagged the gold medal in mens handball in fabulous fashion as we crushed all opposition having a perfect tournament. Bollonischian Volleyball also did well as we took the bronze in mens volleyball following a disappointing exit in the round of 16 in the womens’ division. Losing to volleyball giants such as Quebec and Shingoryeo is something that we can be proud about however the match was winnable as we had shown in our final win over Quebec and Shingoryeo’s young side. The Baseball and Softball teams also did well as we reached the semifinals of baseball and quarterfinals of softball before being knocked out.
As we head into the last day of the Olympics, what we need to remember and keep in mind is that our athletes have given it their all whether they’ve brought home a medal or not. And this goes to each and every sportsperson who’ve represented or who want to represent our country. They deserve our utmost respect for holding their heads and our country’s flag high.
Meh

They're Onto Me...Oh, Wait, the Finale
By Jamie J Jameson, heir to the Jameson Jams of the river James

This man's name is amusing, I'm not giving it back and they can't make me give it back.

So the real Jamie J Jameson, heir to the Jameson James of the river James, saw me in my alleyway in Centralis, lookin like a disheveled muppet. That's what he looked like, I was fine, I just wanted to be there for staging. Anyhow, I allowed him to catch me by accidentally tripping on a can or something, so now I'm in custody in our room. Said something about how "It's been 3 days since I've seen you" and "You never got evicted from the room in the first place", nonsense is all I'm hearing. But the good news is that I have access to a laptop again, Jamie's laptop, so who's laughing now. Man's has a publishing account and doesn't post when I'm gone, and [i]I'm[/i] the wildcard. I talked to the higher-ups, who knew where ratings would go without me, so they're putting me back on the World Cup qualifiers series once that starts up, even talks about me reverse ghost-writing the Mike Sarzo Memorial Trophy with the pay per word count all going to me. Seems a bit much for my stunt, but whatever, it's the least they can do.

Right, right, I need to hurry this up so I don't get a real punishment. It's the last day of competition, here in Electrum, and of all the money QOC had spent creating our delegation, our final medal tally is...3. A silver, a bronze, and an unambiguous circle of unimaginable wonder to be decided upon tonight. Since the last time I talked to yinz was Day 15, a little after Keller's bronze, you can probably guess what happened to all the people I had the nerve to highlight. Both of the 4x100 relay teams would not finish their final runs, which is a feat in of itself, but not one I'm supposed to be proud of. Joey Gosha would finish 10 places behind third in the women's heptathlon, Tomi Cruise just ate shi* on the high jump, a solid ending to our forever-sucking athletics department. In badminton, Oxen Divinity and Jesus Angel would drop the shuttlecock (ha) in the bronze match, proving why David Foreclosure is superior, regardless of his premature departure. Darryl Coy, of all people, would end up tying for 2nd (which, in this case, is 3rd) in the final round of golf, which meant literally nothing, as no Qad came close to the podium. Derrick Small and Roger Sanchos were both ass in wrestling, ass enough to continue having little baby bare necks.

And then there's handball, the one event we were excited for, as a nation. Handball hasn't been a sport we've been consistently good in since the teens of the HWC, and the men's team damn near proved that the HandVans were still alive, to some capacity. In the end, after one hell of a tournament, they bloody dropped the ball, 26-31 against freaking Bollonich. I'd be in favor to bring the guillotine back in fashion, but they *did* give us our highest medal so far, so we'll keep an eye on this at the next HWC. Granted, a silver is a silver, but believe it or not, there's still one last chance for the OlympiVans to strike gold, and it's in the one place we never expected...
Men's Hockey ***MEDAL MATCH***
Somehow, some way, the Qasden f*cking StickVans or whatever they're called made the gold medal match. It's absolutely ludicrous, doubly so considering the country never really had a dominant field hockey organization beyond the local rec club. After beating Bollonich in the quarters (which now makes me think handball was some sort of twisted karma), these mofos took on Sylestone, those furniture movers or whatever that actually have interest in the sport. Losing that would bring the possibilities of a bronze, which I was well prepared to welcome with only slight mockery, but Qasden actually shook me, they stunned Sylestone 3-1 in the Olympic semi-finals. They gave Tomathan-er-Jamie content for the final day of the games, and my Marlene, it's a gold match.

Before I continue, here's a crude graphic.
Image

One of the designer kids made that before Cruise lost, but it shows how Terranean Coast ranks up with previous, less costly endeavors. Regardless to how tonight goes, Aeropag (XI) will continue to be the nation's best performance, both gold-wise and medal-wise. Novonaya/Provinsk (XII) would be the one in question, however, to a possible usurping. Should the OlympiVans win in hockey, they would overtake the last summer games we ever played, as in the unofficial laws of the land, a real gold is more valuable than a demo gold. Yeah, it was a demo gold in baseball, but if it was put in a special category, it gets a special devalued status in our books. A silver would mean the first games ever to leave the nation completely goldless, which is sad and hilarious at the same time, I want that to happen, it's good content to hype up.

Before anymore tangents spring up, to win the gold, the men's hockey team must take on and defeat the delegation from Polkopia, the nation that stands 16th in the gold-tally with 9. Hockey-wise, the team has had their ups and downs in the knockouts: crushing Eura in the R32, squeezing on penalties against Saltstead in the Octos, nudging 1-0 over Ostankin in the quarters before beating the Licentian Isles 3-1 in the semis. They're a loose cannon, much like the Qads, but they have uniforms and stuff that speak "we have money and also a great national sense of pride in our olympic delegation". They bring copious amounts of fear to the non-WorldVision countries of the athletic multiverse every games, and my god, my suspenders are soiled for the final. Except I don't wear suspenders, but I will be wearing an eye mask while this game goes on, because my flight's in 15 minutes and I'll be damned if I don't get a snooze in before crossing regions and dealing with multiversal jet lag.

So that's it from Electrum, a lavish use of private and public funds for one of the most shameful, most embarrassing, most Qasdonian things to ever come out of our country, to be capped off tonight with whatever'll make up our tenth medal from all the summer games combined. Will the OlympiVans be able to strike gold one last time before bidding adieu to the lost games? Or will a medal-hungry Polkopia earn the last gold they need to break double digits? Stay tuned, stay updated, and just kidding, this is the last report from the fifteenth Olympiad, but stay alert for future QADAN reports, available wherever and whenever online media posts are sold! This is Jamie...no, this is Tomathan Hammerland signing off.

Games of the XV Olympiad — roleplaying thread

Postby Scornerse » Sun Sep 05, 2021 1:29 am

Scornerse's XV Olympiad Wrap-up

Though tomorrow is due to have a whole host of events, in cluding the much anticipated middleweight and light heavyweight weight women's matches today is an excellent day for a recap of the 15th Olympics through the medals won by Scornerse's Olympic Team.

Day 2

Scornerse's first ever Olympic medals, with Reina Cervantes securing bronze in women's Women's 100 m butterfly in a tie. Additionally, Maddox Perez became the first of Scornerse's martial women to win a medal, winning bronze in Judo, setting the tone for future dominance of Scornerse in the sport

Day 4

Day 4 Would see flag bearer Opening Flag bearer Estella Aguilar win two golds in one day, in archery in mixed archery alongside Marcelino Brown slam. In the same day, she'd win another gold in 63 kg Judo, in which her 'no so gentle way' to victory her execute vicious chokes to force submissions out of opponents'

Day 5

Would see another excellent performance in swimming for Sconerse as Manuel Aguilar would pick up medal in another tie for third place.

Day 6

Would be a display of physical strength on the part of two of Scornerse's women athletes, as Sancho Mendez would win a bronze in 87 kg weightlifting and Sartana Ninakatari would secure a second judo gold for Scornerse, in the 78 weight class through aggressive throws that'd either score an ippon or leave her opponens unable to mount a winning resistance against her. Alongside this Sconerse would win a silver in men's trap shooting.

Day 7

Capping of Scornerse's Judo success, Celia Ramirez would succeed at making up for her relatively lesser mass with height and strength in 78+ kg women's judo, including defeating a Kriegiersien for in the finals by an ippon scoring throw with statement making force.

Day 8

Estella Aguilar would win a second medal in Archery and her third overall in women's individual, as Zelda Moraia of the Vilitan Union gets her revenge for her finals defeat with alongside her partner in the mixed tournament.

Day 9

Scornerse wins a surprise bronze medal in Men's skiff sailing thanks to Esteban Molina and Wayne Hutchinson, displaying the depth and variety of skill in the Sconerse Olympic team.

Day 10

Scornerse would score another good shoeing on the water in Women’s coxed eights rowing.

Day 11

This day would prove to be the single best medal winning day for Scornerse. Estella Aguilar would secure gold, her third, in 67 kg Taekwondo, making up for her boxing disappointment by putting on an impressive display of punches with her kicks, including landing a few kidney punches as is consistent with Scornerse's style of taekwondo in international competition. However this day also saw Silver's in women's wrestling, cycling and 100m running and even a bronze in men's 80 kg Taekwondo.

Day 12

Sartana Ninakatari would secure Silver in taekwondo in a close bout that she could have very easily won, the sole medal of the day for Scornerse and a motivator behind the effort she's set to put in for the light heavyweight finals against an opponent if the same country that defeated her.

Day 13

While this day would see a 400m men's hurdles bronze medal and the Silver's for women's 3x3 basketball and cycling, it would solidify a gold medal drought that'd last until day 17.

Day 14

A day notable for being the last in an unbroken streak of winning at least one medal a day for Scornerse that started from day 4, as the wrestler and tennis star Bethel Warren managed to win a bronze, along side a men's cycling bronze. This day also saw a somewhat disappointing silver medal for the women's rugby sevens team, their hard hitting style failing to phase Lisander and instead costing them penalties.

Day 16

This day would see the return of Scornerse's medal winning ways, though the gold medal drought would remain in broken, including an emotional comeback from what looked like a possible competition ending injury for Ana Gentry in women's Greco-Roman wrestling, from which she recovered to win bronze. Despite this, Ana remain bitter and hopes that Carissa Aguilar can make the West Phoenician Ronnette Davidson pay for what her fellow country woman did to Ana on her way to winning gold. The day also aaw a close silver medal winning defeat in women's indoor volleyball.

Day 17

After days of quite success in cycling, Sconerse would see it's gold medal drought ended with a win in Men's Madison cycling, a win that came alongside a bronze medal game win for Sconerse's Women's beach volleyball team and a final women's wrestling bronze.

(Previously in this series)

Admittedly, while he felt a sense of relief from daring to go public with who he is, Ǧulio did feel a little overwhelmed with the amount of attention and publicity he had since gotten. Although he thought preparations for the next round of the race was going fine, his standings for that next round were poor relative to his first race, and he failed to qualify. Coach consoled him, saying that he has a lot of potential ahead of him in the future, and that for a first-timer that was already a decent result.

Ǧulio decided to stick around in Agri, especially with the Closing Ceremony coming soon. In his free time he had been doing a lot of sightseeing with other athletes (not Marťinu though—he qualified to the final!), while also following developments back home.

On Friday afternoon, he received the news (shown below). "Finally", he thought to himself, "although I don't know who he will be, I can get the happily-ever-after marriage I've always dreamed of after all."

Congress of the Kalosians votes to legalize same-sex marriage

MONTERRA—In a historic vote, Congress of the Kalosians, the lower house of the national parliament, has voted to pass the Marriage Equality Act which will legalize same-sex marriage in Kalosia. This item will now be passed on to the Council of the Republic, the nation's upper house, for further deliberation and another vote.

Although this has been long debated for years, a number of events in the past year, including the murder of LGBT+ teen Mikel Bernardi and the coming out of various public figures including Kalosian Olympic athlete Ǧulio Ražanu has brought upon a wave of public support for the motion.

Supporters of the bill were seen outside the parliament building earlier today celebrating the success of the historic bill, which has been deemed a major milestone for the LGBT+ community and the movement to uphold their rights in Kalosia.

A sneak peek at Let's Talk Kalosia's final social media post regarding the XV Olympics in Electrum. This version was drafted the night before prior to the last day's events, which includes the marathon event in which Kalosian athletes are competing. Had we failed to win any more medals on the last day, this would have the been final version.

Note: This has been updated after the final day's results.

XV Olympics - Mens Football FIN v. Chromatika

Football: Vilitan Union Defend Gold against Chromatika
Amatopa Backstops another Penalty Shootout Victory

Final

Vilitan Union: 1 (4)
Chromatika: 1 (3)
Somersville Stadium, Somer, Electrum :: With victory over Sylestone in the Men's Football Semi-Final, the Vilitan Union would become just the third team in Olympic History to compete in consecutive Men's Football Gold Medal Games. The first was the Capitalizt SLANI who won back-to-back Gold Medals during the Games of the II and III Summer Olympic Games, both on home soil in the Unified Capitalizt States. It would be a similarly welcoming crowd when Capitalizt SLANI made it three consecutive appearances in the Gold Medal Game during the IV Olympic Games in Paripana but the third time was not the charm as Capitalizt SLANI suffered their first Gold Medal Final defeat.

Just two cycles later, another nation would make consecutive Gold Medal Game appearances and like the Capitalizt SLANI before them, would triumph in both of those first two appearances. Krytenia would win their first Men's Football Gold in Cafundeu against Kagdazka and Pazhujebu and then defend their title at home during the VII games in Emberton, Krytenia. From then there would not be another repeat finalist of any kind - consecutive or non-consecutive, all the way until the XIV Games when the Vilitan Union would earn their second all-time appearance in the Gold Medal Game earning the Gold by defeating fellow Atlantian Oceania nation The Jovannic.

After their Gold Medal triumphs in both Men's and Women's Football at the XIV Olympic Games in Orean and Istria, Vilita and Turori would go on to win the Under-21 World Cup and then the Turori National Team would break through and triumph for the first time in the World Cup. Returning to the Olympic Games in Electrum there was no reason to believe that the Vilitan Union couldn't become the third nation to advance to consecutive Gold Medal Finals and they would do just that despite a narrow group stage escape that only saw the defending champions advance to the knockout round via the drawing of lots over reigning Copa Rushmori Champions Sargossa.

Knockout round victories over Amuaplye, host nation Electrum, Diarcesia and finally the penalty shootout victory over Sylestone in the Semi-Final would assure the Vilitan Union a return trip to the Gold Medal Game and from there it was a matter of taking care of business against first-time Olympic Men's Football Finalists Chromatika.

Despite having long been co-located within Atlantian Oceania, there was not a deep history of head to head competition between the Vilitan Union and Chromatika particularly at the Sub-Senior level of play such as the Olympic Games or the Under-21 World Cup. There had, however, been numerous recent matchups between the Turori National Team and Chromatika at the World Cup Finals including at the recently completed World Cup 88 Finals which were held in Chromatika. En Route to their World Cup 88 Title, the Turori National Team had to defeat Chromatika in the Round of 16 and did so narrowly thanks to a goal from Wiztsana Iretziia. The victory would not only propel the Eels toward the World Cup 88 Final but also served as revenge for Turori against an Anomalies side that had knocked Turori out of the World Cup the previous cycle on the final Group Stage matchday.

Many of the names on the pitch would be different in the Olympic Gold Medal Game - in fact, for the Vilitan Union there would be just one player in the Starting 11 who also appeared during the World Cup 88 Round of 16 against Chromatika and that would be defender Karek Edgeli.

Derizi Amatopa, the Turorian netminder for Revolutionaries in Eura would get the nod in goal for the Vilitan Union after Zelkki Milake Jr. had conceded two goals in each of the previous two knockout round matches. Whether strategic or fortunate, it would end up being a critical choice as the Gold Medal Match would ultimately be decided from the penalty spot.

After 90 minutes without a single goal being scored, the Vilitan Union and Chromatika exchanged Extra Time tallies with Phillippe Goussaint scoring for Chromatika and Loala Inkabu responding with the equalizer for the Vilitan Union as the match headed off to Penalty Kicks. Both teams would actually miss their first spot kick before rolling off three consecutive conversions each to effectively begin the sudden death portion of the shootout as the last spot kick takers stepped forward for each team from among the initial five. It was Chromatika up first as Derizi Amatopa stared down the substitute Barton Tierney. Luckily for the Vilitan Union, Amatopa stayed focused as Tierney's weak shot up the middle bounced off the Turorian netminders foot with Amatopa having started to lean away but shifting their momentum back the other way as the shot came in. That left the fate of the match on the foot of the veteran overage utility player Enzoril Alabonni. The long time Marine Coast United player would have no hesitation, confidently placing the ball past Van Enax to secure victory for the Vilitan Union in the Men's Football Gold Medal Match for the second consecutive Olympic Games.
