Argentina battles dengue surge and repellent shortage

Argentina is facing an insect repellent shortage as the country prepares for its worst-ever dengue season.

Dengue is a mosquito-borne virus that can be deadly, or cause serious illness, in some cases.

A vaccine for dengue has been developed but its rollout is still in early stages and most people still rely on preventative measures to avoid the virus.

Residents report that it is almost impossible to buy repellent.

Many supermarkets and pharmacies have displayed "no repellent" signs, and in the few places where it is still available, especially online, resale prices are astronomical.

The government has attributed the problem to a "bottleneck" that will be corrected in the coming days.

I hope AMLO does not make this a competition

Mexico severs relations with Ecuador

After Mexico's embassy in Quito granted protection to former VP Jorge Glas, who's charged with corruption, bribery, and other things from his time in office, Ecuadorian police decided to storm the embassy and took Glas into custody.

Guerrero's state executive building ransacked and burned

This is also demanding the truth about the Iguala 43.

Apparently Ecuador only believes in asylum when the person seeking it is wanted by the Yankees...

What Ecuador did is understandable. Currently, they are in what some would say a state of war against drug traffickers. Violence caused by these drug traffickers is out of control. Politicians and candidates have been targetted by these groups. Ordinary people in some coastal cities like the port city of Guayaquil cannot venture out at night or into certain neighborhoods because of the rampant violence which has been spreading.

But Ecuador should not have stormed the Mexican diplomatic building. Instead they should have asked Mexico to extradite him. Both Mexico and Ecuador have extradition treaties.

Last week, the first presidential debate took place in Mexico, it was something of a mess through no fault of either Sheinbaum or Galvez, but AMLO was annoyed at how Sheinbaum seemed to distance herself from him.

Mexico was in the wrong for accepting the asylum of Correa, AMLO was in the wrong since it broke some accords. But somehow Ecuador did something worse, I can't believe Ecuador made themselves look like the villains and thanks to that Mexico somehow looks like the good guys.

It wasn't Correa, it was Jorge Glas.

Silly me. Yes, it was glass, Correa I think was already arrested before, Glas was the one that tried to flee

It is not remotely reasonable. For lack of a better word, it is simply barbaric. Nicaragua has followed suit in condemning Ecuador and has severed ties as well

Equally barbaric is when mafia-states interfere with the internal affairs of legitimate governments through the corrupt use of asylum as a means of keeping allies above the law. The Ortega dictatorship is harboring three criminal ex-presidents, one of which is currently hiding in the Nicaraguan embassy in Panama City—motivations behind this decision are a mix of slimy self-interest and ineffectual hostility towards other nations. Not quite the noble stand in defense of international norms that you think it is.

At first reading I honestly thought It was probably just the Zapatistas but then the video I saw from news reports looks like that's probably not the case now. Damn that was probably terrifying.

Well, folks, Panama's going to the polls tomorrow, it looks like former Cabinet Minister(under both Endara and Martinelli administrations) Jose Raul Mulino of the conservative Realizing Goals will win, he has 35% in the polls, and Panama doesn't do runoffs. He also has no running mate...because he was meant to be Ricardo Martinelli's running mate, but Martinelli was disqualified, so....
