Due to the current economic crisis in the country, Pheonisland is pursuing a rather conservative investment policy, due to the lack of GDP.
However, the government looks forward to contracting with National Power to build a nuclear power plant in the Icosuim area on the coast road, and accepts the proposed offer on the condition of handing over the dues in installments, the last term after 7 years from 1 November.
We await your response in the government's proposal for the initial agreement on the contract and the definition of the work area.

The prospective site at Caesarea was rejected on ecological grounds, it is unlikely to sustain good water mixing to maintain the requisite water temperature

CITY OF ARAGON, PALMYRION | Palmyrion and Pheonisland are set to begin negotiations later this month regarding a potential Free Trade Agreement (FTA) and a separate but closely-related industry-focused scientific research and development collaboration agreement in light of a Phoenician commercial importation programme, said a joint press release by the Department of Commerce and the Department of Science and Technology.

"Palmyrion and Pheonisland are set to begin negotiations sometime in the outgoing third of the month of November regarding a free trade agreement, all in light of a Phoenician commercial importation programme which it claims is due to the state being unable to meet consumer demands." Vice-Chancellor of Commercr and Industry Theodore John Naraga said in an interview with the Commonwealth News Service. "The FTA will be paired with an industry-focused scientific R&D collaboration programme between Palmyrion and Pheonisland." Vice-Chancellor of Science and Technology John Kennedy Macalintal added in a separate interview.

According to insider sources, Palmyrion and Pheonisland have looked into FTAs in the defence, energy, and metallurgical industry sectors as well as initiating mutual interflows of direct investments between the two countries; meanwhile, the scientific collaboration program was intended to help Palmyrion and Pheonisland exchange industrial expertise in various sectors to help Pheonisland create value-added products with the end goal of plugging and mitigating its supply-demand and export-import deficits in the long term.

Industrial magnates both state-owned and private have expressed their desire to engage in the trade of goods and services with Phoenician companies to this end, coupled with their support for the upcoming FTA and their desire to share industrial expertise and knowledge with their Phoenician counterparts. Primary sectors of interest are the defence, energy, and metallurgical (both siderurgical and non-ferrous) industries, with petrochemical, chemical, and machinery being considered secondary and supplementary to the primary sectors of interest in the upcoming FTA. Palmyrion's touted "Big Four" premier universities such as the University of Palmyrion, Ateneo de Aragon, University of St. Thomas, and the Academia de La Salle have expressed interest in engaging in student exchange and university research collaboration programmes with Phoenician research universities.

However, critics have expressed concern that Palmyrion may be turning into a rentier state, compromising the resource base of its industrial foundations by allowing Pheonisland access to its reserves of raw materials ranging from mineral resources to fossil fuels; industry players and magnates responded to the criticism, assuring that "raw materials such as crude petroleum and mineral ores - unprocessed, beneficiated, or processed - will not be exported to anyone, Pheonisland included", and that "only finished goods such as usable metal alloys and finished petroleum products will be exported".

Departament of Economy and Finance in Pheonisland expressed its readiness to start negotiations and to sign a partnership and scientific cooperation agreement with Palmyrion over the next few days in order to develop economic relations and cooperation in various fields and create favorable conditions for the development of trade exchange and investment between the two sides. As two members of the Council of Free Market Economies (CFME), the negotiations are expected to be part of the organization's policy setting out a policy aimed at creating an expanded free-market area of peace and economic prosperity.

Mr. Hyacinthus Eustorgius, Chancellor of the Department of Economy and Finance, expressed his expectations: “The partnership agreement between Palmyrion and Pheonisland aims to establish a free trade zone between the two sides 24 hours after its entry into force.the agreement also aims to create a comprehensive framework for scientific cooperation."
