Acknowledging the economic benefit that free trade may have for countries
Recognizing that some countries are losing jobs overseas to foreign competition
Mindful that countries may not want to be told what trade regulations that they should be allowed to have
Free trade benefits consumers by making goods cheaper and countries by making their more efficient industries more competitive. The creation of the Federation For Free Trade (FFT) to encourage free trade between countries by giving them the power to do the following, discourage countries from having quotas on the amount of a particular good that is allowed to be imported, and discourage tariffs which is a tax on imported goods. Also, the FFT would have the power to give countries incentives to get rid of subsidies or payments by the government to companies to protect an industry from foreign competition. This organization would have the power to give financial incentives to countries to eliminate the barriers to trade previously mentioned and give financial incentives for the creation of free trade zones among nations. The amount of the financial incentive will be determined by the organization once its created if this resolution passes.
