[PASSED] Commend Krulltopia

Postby Feux » Sat Apr 13, 2013 9:28 pm

After much pondering and a quick discussion with AMOM, I have decided to attempt the commendation of Krulltopia. AMOM is a dear friend of mine, and has given me ownership of his original condemnation proposal of Krulltopia, therefore I can not claim credit for the majority of this document. I can get him to post here if need be. I have made a few edits to his original draft, and they are not prefect so I am fully open to suggestions, as this is a draft thread. I still need to add a few things, and will be doing so within the week most likely. There are a few grammar and or spelling mistakes, I am sure, so any help scanning for them is greatly appreciated. Anyway, proposal:

The Security Council,

Recognizing Krulltopia as the current World Assembly Delegate of The Pacific and Emperor of the New Pacific Order (NPO), the governing body of The Pacific;

Noting that Krulltopia has reigned in The Pacific for well over three years after being appointed the position of Delegate by the previous Emperor of the New Pacific Order, Moo-Cows with Guns;

Further Noting that, over the course of those three plus years, Krulltopia has worked tirelessly and meticulously with only the aid of a few, very close allies to maintain the flawless security and stability of The Pacific, while promoting the safety of the other Pacific regions;

Acknowledging, as an example of the aforementioned dedication to regional security, Krulltopia’s exposure of former Balder Delegate Luxembourg when the nation was found to have infiltrated and gained control of assets owned by Balder’s former Vice Delegate, Fotar, and planned to use what the nation had stolen to assume complete control of Balder’s forums, usurp and cripple the nation of Fotar, and forcibly take control of the entire region of Balder;

Understanding that this exposure of Luxembourg’s corruption allowed the nation’s scheme to be halted preemptively before any significant damage could be done to Balder and to the nation of Fotar;

Further Recognizing Krulltopia as the first Pacific Delegate to ban the obsolete and disruptive practice of Regional Message Board (RMB) advertising, a decision which encouraged other Pacific governments to follow suit, resulting in encouraged international interaction within the Pacific regions;

Observing that Krulltopia has been an active member of The Pacific’s community and government for over eight years, working tirelessly to advance The Pacific in every aspect found in lines with regional culture and tradition;

Further Acknowledging the strong stands The Pacific has taken against regions that follow hateful ideologies, such as The Greater German Reich, under Krulltopia’s leadership;

Believing Krulltopia has performed spectacularly in the position of NPO Emperor and Delegate of The Pacific, preserving The Pacific as a bastion of stability, expanding the tight-knit NPO community, and rebuilding many of the formerly cherished features of the region’s government such as the Pacific Army, Pacific News Network, and the Peoples’ Congress;

Conceding that, while regional autocracies and meritocracies are not popular outside The Pacific, this system, which is now faithfully maintained and honoured by Krulltopia, has lasted in the region since antiquity, and is accepted and supported by all loyal and devoted denizens;"

Deeming Krulltopia’s enlightened leadership to be worthy of international and interregional appreciation;

Hereby Commends: Krulltopia

Drafted by A mean old man; Co-Authored by Feux.

Ok, there are a few notes and clauses that I would like some suggestions on.

Conceding that, while regional autocracies and or meritocracies are not extremely popular, all loyal and devoted denizens of The Pacific accept and support the autocracy that has maintained the region since antiquity, therefore leading many to recognize that Krulltopia is honoring the region’s inhabitants and history by preserving The Pacific’s current system;

I found this clause difficult to word during my edits. I would not like to separate the bold sentence from the clause and form a new one, but the current sentence structure bothers me a bit. It may just be me and my OCD though.

Thank you Eist.

"Leading many, therefore, to recognise that Krulltopia is honouring and has honoured the region's inhabitants and history by preserving The Pacific's current system."

Perhaps that will quell your OCD?

You could put a full-stop in and have "Leading many..." as it's own sentence, this would prevent it appearing full of commas.

For, by the way.

Not relevant in and of itself. Perhaps you would make this part of the next statement.

Noting that Krulltopia has reigned in The Pacific for well over three years after being appointed the position of Delegate by the previous Emperor of the New Pacific Order, Moo-Cows with Guns;

To quote Bears Armed:
Bears Armed wrote:Why is not changing governments for three-and-a-half years a point that some people consider worth commending?
:blink:

Further Noting that, over the course of those three plus years, Krulltopia has worked tirelessly and meticulously with only the aid of a few, very close allies to maintain the flawless security and stability of The Pacific, while promoting the safety of the other Pacific regions;

This sounds more like tyranny than freedom. Stability be damned if it is forced upon you.

Acknowledging, as an example of the aforementioned dedication to regional security, Krulltopia’s exposure of former Balder Delegate Luxembourg when the nation was found to have infiltrated and gained control of assets owned by Balder’s former Vice Delegate, Fotar, and planned to use what the nation had stolen to assume complete control of Balder’s forums, usurp and cripple the nation of Fotar, and forcibly take control of the entire region of Balder;

Understanding that this exposure of Luxembourg’s corruption allowed the nation’s scheme to be halted preemptively before any significant damage could be done to Balder and to the nation of Fotar;

This is still to be debated methinks, and try to focus more on the part Krulltopia played rather than an explanation of Luxembourg's supposed indescretions.

Further Recognizing Krulltopia as the first Pacific Delegate to ban the obsolete and disruptive practice of Regional Message Board (RMB) advertising, a decision which encouraged other Pacific governments to follow suit, resulting in encouraged international interaction within the Pacific regions;

Once again this sounds like stifling tyranny. you may want to rephrase this.

Believing Krulltopia has performed spectacularly in the position of NPO Emperor and Delegate of The Pacific, preserving The Pacific as a bastion of stability, expanding the tight-knit NPO community, and rebuilding many of the formerly cherished features of the region’s government such as the Pacific Army, Pacific News Network, and the Peoples’ Congress;

I like this one

Old ways are not necessarily better, and this doesnt help you case. Get rid of this one.

Deeming Krulltopia’s enlightened leadership to be worthy of international and interregional appreciation;

Probably so....but make me beleive it. Most nations have nothing against Krull, but you may be selling himself short. Break out Krill's role in the works it was a part of into separate lines, like the people's congress, and the news network, etc... Get rid of the concession line all together, and focus less on how Krull ruled the region(s) and more on what krull's rule brought to the nations there in.

Might want to include the prominent position The Pacific has in regards to anti-GGR/Anti-Nazi efforts, under Krull's leadership.

Against, on the basis of the author alone. Already turned the Security Council into tragedy with one piss poor resolution, no need to keep up the trend.

But this, unlike the others, is actually well written...

Conceding that, while regional autocracies and or meritocracies are not extremely popular, all loyal and devoted denizens of The Pacific accept and support the autocracy that has maintained the region since antiquity, therefore leading many to recognize that Krulltopia is honoring the region’s inhabitants and history by preserving The Pacific’s current system;

You can just say "and" instead of "and or"; it's implied. That said, you can leave out meritocracies because they are irrelevant to this piece (I think). While there are a lot of commas, I think this is clearer, but you can take from it what you will:

"Conceding that, while regional autocracies are not popular outside The Pacific, this system, which is now faithfully maintained and honoured by Krulltopia, has lasted in the region since antiquity, and is accepted and supported by all loyal and devoted denizens;"

If this gets to vote, I will support it.

There are popular autocracies outside of The Pacific (TP is just the most notable)

"Not widely popular", then. I don't think that matters much, though, as we are not really offering a detailed comparison between two regions, just commenting that TP is different from the average of all the others.

I'd put my vote towards my region's delegate voting in favour of this.

The part of about the ability of feeder delegates to suppress posts against recruiting spam was a system change that was about ten years overdue. There's been no greater impediment against any sense of community emerging on GCR boards than being dominated by recruiting spam. It's an ineffective form of recruiting for anything other than crushing community building in system created regions.

Both the NS NPO and CN NPO define themselves as some type of meritocracies, so I think it would be best to leave it in there. The commas are fine; they help get the point across more successfully than my wording. So I have taken your suggestions into consideration, and have made the edits to the draft. Thank you. If you would like, I can list you as a contributor in the proposal. It is your call.

I'm going to make this simple.

If this resolution comes to vote I will fight tooth and nail to defeat it.

I've gone through this with AMOM already. The two resolutions are pretty much identical, as would be the campaign and the eventual result.

This idea of commending Krulltopia is the kind of garbage which is only plausible to those orbiting the small GP nucleus that has tolerated laziness and disposed of history.

The Pacific has been irrelevant under Krulltopia. Attempts to change that fact through stunts like the Modern Pacific Alliance (AMOM's baby) or the Crusade on Nazis - whereby Krulltopia pontificates as if he is the commanding general and then fields a minority of soldiers - is all quite frankly, a big joke.

It's even sadder given the legacy he has inherited and which is alluded to in this resolution.

And please, enough with the security. What would actually be different than the last go around over this with AMOM is that I have recently come into possession of intelligence on Krulltopia's regional security apparatus. It is evident that until very recently Krulltopia had been operating with a scanner that wasn't even fully operational, and he was either too lazy or inept to get it fixed until now.

What he did for security would be to scan the region on an almost daily basis with this scanner, this is not a commendable feat. He would then leverage the strict endocap to control regional influence, the doctrine being that even if someone got through his broken scanner he wouldn't have to really care because the enormous endorsement margin that exists in the region leverages all influence to those firmly in his control.

This typifies the lazy state of the Pacific under Krulltopia and is emblematic of our modern, increasingly lazy GP age where we have to pretend like Nazis are a new and exciting threat because influence and group-think are slowly choking GP to death.

The Pacific is secure because of a broken game system which rewards players already at the top and does little to help or create incentives for challengers.

The Pacific under Krulltopia operates under a culture and doctrine completely antithetical to Francos Spain, who was a firebrand and a revolutionary. Krulltopia does nothing, it's laughable that this resolution tries to spin his paranoia and failure to interact with his region at large as "look how great he is, he is pulling this off with few allies"

Again, all he did for the longest time is wake up everyday and launch a scanner he knew was broken but couldn't really be bothered with anyway because it would catch enough to keep the endorsement-margin trend alive and let influence take care of him.

I'm going to stop now but I just can't get over what a joke this resolution is. Bring it to vote and I'll just go through the archives for everything I pulled up when AMOM thought he would take a go at this as well.

Please tell me how many soldiers, triggers, or military assets of any kind the NPO under Krulltopia has fielded in their crusade against Nazis.

If you want to hand out badges in the GCRs for fighting Nazis you should look to the North or South Pacific.

Pontificating is not commendable, nor is the state of the Pacific's armed forces... which were so devoid of any leadership that they sought after the now widely mocked Cormac Stark for leadership.
