I think we should change it from CoPS if we make a new group. I mean, we're likely to attract more new blood as like, I dunno, 'The Society of Realistic Fantasy' than the 'Coalition of Ponyist States'. I mean, it's massively less about Pony-ness now. The main RPers/IRCers (which is practically synonymous) are (inconclusive list... plz don't complain or eat me D: )...

• CS - minority
• Kouralia - minority
• Imer - minority
• HR... I'm not sure, but I think minority.
• Menels - minority
• C'tan - minority
• LK - majority/All Ponies
• Orussia/Minroz/Cel... ish... - minority.

So, while pony-recognition is a prerequisite for joining, there are non-CoPS people who recognise them... I think Freet is non-CoPS, and I think Alla is too.

I have long thought that we should have some sort of PL Olympics. Sign me in already.

Glad to see at least one person is interested. It would likely run somewhere in mid to late October through early November, working between my university's midterms and finals to give me the time I need to run it properly. Also, a sort of build up to MLP's 4th season...

The minority part of my IC nation is an understatement.

Technically, my pony pop is over 1 billion. But yeah minority in terms of numbers comparing to their Minrozian compatriots.

You got me thinking about this and while I do agree that CoPS seems less to do with ponies now than it did years ago when it started, I think there is a point here you're missing. This 'community' was founded around the acceptance of ponies. Without such a fact, I doubt this 'community' would exist.

If we're going to change the name, it ought to reflect our origins. Something like 'The Universal Brotherhood of Sentients' or 'League of United Sentients'
...or something like that? The acceptance of other forms of life and cultures than one's own.

To all of you reading this, hello! And thank you for your attention.

CoPS is MT/FanT RP group, not based out of any particular region. We accept the existence of fully MT and human nations, but we also accept non-human nations and those who wish to incorporate magic and other non-MT items into their experience. We are looking for quality RPers, who are interested in joining our community, and provide new and fresh ideas for RPs. We have an emphasis on one thing, and one thing only: storytelling. In our books, everything comes second to telling a good story. If realism has to bend a little in order to tell a good story? So be it.

We expect quality RPing that comes together to tell a story of some kind or the other, and if some realism or what not has to be sacrificed in order to tell that story then we accept that. If you're coming here expecting to do RPs where you want everything to be uber-hard-core realistic, then, I'm afraid this group is not the right one for you. If you're looking to, 'win', through some manner, then this may not be right for you either, but if you are interested in story telling, with a potential modern fantasy setting? You've found the right place. If you're interested fill out the application below, and be sure to read the rest of the OP to get an idea for what we're looking for and expecting of our RPers.

Please be as full and detailed as possible with your answers! We want to get to know you as a player and RPer, and the more you tell, the better we'll get it.

As far as rules and regulations go, we're hands off. We don't have any formal hierarchy, outside of myself as the OP, and my co-OPs, Urmanian, Kouralia and Malgrave. All our power is limited to deciding whether or not to accept a new member of the group. However, even then, we prefer to let you all have a say in who comes in, and we are more than open to your opinions on new members and what not. Furthermore, if you have an RP you want to be advertised in the OP of the group, just TG one of them and they'll see about it getting put up. We encourage you all to come up with your own RP ideas that are either done in one on one work with the other members of the region, or a general RP. If you have any problems with a member of the RP group, feel free to TG one of us, and we'll be happy to see if we can arbitrate something.

A word on our acceptance of magic. We view magic much in the same way we view tech, and just as we don't want people to try and claim that they 'win' automatically due to superior tech, we don't want people who do the same except with magic. Magic, when it is used, should be used to propel the story along. Our guiding principle here is 'suspension of disbelief'. While we allow realism to bend, we do not eject it completely. Our guiding principle on this point is simply: suspension of disbelief. While things do not have to be realistic, they do have to be believable, and this applies to magic as much as it does to claims about technology, population, economics, etc. As long as what you claim about your country is believable or cna be used to tell a better story, we're find with your claiming anything you want.

I think if we put up the RPs list again, make sure its more comprehensive this time - i.e. any RP that takes place in Poneria/PL, Mystria, or another place in CoPS-OOC that is Open should be put in there. It could help in a new thread to keep interest going, and prevent the claim 'there's nothing going on'.
