That tie-breaker...dang that was awesome.
And, yeah, Bolin's reaction to seeing that was just tragic. Right when he was bringing that awesome bouquet and everything, and just when he thought he had a chance too. Ouch. Kinda hating on Mako right now, he's being selfish and taking all the girls! :(

Bolin was the only good thing about that episode.

Funny, because out of all the characters in that episode, Bolin was the only one who broke down crying. For a guy who seems to hate Korra for being whiny...
Of course, Bolin had a good reason to break down. I mean...damn.

I didn't catch the episode, but Ameri is complaining about it. It must have been good.
"The Nixon campaign in 1968, and the Nixon White House after that, had two enemies: the antiwar left and black people. You understand what I'm saying? We knew we couldn't make it illegal to be either against the war or black, but by getting the public to associate the hippies with marijuana and blacks with heroin, and then criminalizing both heavily, we could disrupt those communities. We could arrest their leaders. raid their homes, break up their meetings, and vilify them night after night on the evening news. Did we know we were lying about the drugs? Of course we did."—former Nixon domestic policy chief John Ehrlichman

ImageAt first he was angry, impatient, and the main villian. But through some magical character development, he turns into....Image Image Image A compassionate good guy, the majestic Fire Lord, and a general boss.
Another example? Image Mai. At first, plenty of us thought she was a gloomy, whiny emo bitch. I should know, i was one of those people. But as the series progressed, with character development, I actually started to like her. Probably her most epic bit was when she fought Azula, and that crazy crack-head princess asked "How dare you betray me?!" or something like that, and Mai said "Because I love Zuko more than I fear you!" Epic. So yeah Korra's not perfect now, but I have a feeling she's going to get pretty epic.

There was nothing developmental about that episode. It was badly written, forced shipping.

Except the part where they wound up having to deal with their conflicts of interest, the part where Bolin became a total badass, the introduction of a new character and the cast's reaction to Pretty Boy Wolf Bat, etc, etc.

He's very emotionally charged, very passionate, very caring person. I think he's still sorta living under his brother's shadow, but from last episode, I think he's trying to get out from under that, and grow more as his own person.
We'll see how he winds up. I wasn't much a fan of Sokka to start, but he grew on me with time.

So, let's take a guess at how the Pro Bending final match with Ugly Prick will go.

I'm wagering on The Fire Ferrets getting it handed to them.

I think the guy from the other team will do something to piss Korra off enough so that she disqualifies the Fire Ferrets from the Finals.
That, or something interrupts the finals, IE Tarlok and his task force need her for something.

First I was Makorra and now I'm Masami, and then they tease me with Bokorra! I liked Bokorra!

What is up with this episode screwing with my mind!

That said it's a great episode. Really cements the differences between ATLA and ATLoK, it's a more personal, more mature show. Not that ATLA was immature to say. No sir.

On a side note, assuming Legend of Korra goes past the first season, which it likely will be demanded to, what are they going to name the next book? Water, Earth, Fire, Air what's next?
