The current president, Tom Aderbal, was democratically elected, though a month after his inauguration he began to militarize society and has made several dictatorial actions. Other politicians fought rebels and invanders off the shores, or into the GROUND (and usually dying in that process).

As insurgents, rebels and war criminals made their final stand, our amazing leader (and soon-to-be dictator) ordered all other politicians to lead the 16th lightning force on the front lines, while our friendly neighboring nations' military personnel would flank them.
