Yes sir.

If we have more than 16 players, it'll be first come, first served. Once we have 16 players, I'll create a deadline for people to finalise their profiles for their player. Sound good?

I'd be willing to do more than 16. We just need to set a cutoff day, when signups stop and matches start.

Ot'j Owvingzur
age 34
Bio: The Current Carmadin chess Grandmaster, he has competed in the Carmadin Chessmaster's Crown (Ooc: Can someone get me a scorinator link, so I can actually run that?) since he was 14 years old. He won the crown for the first time 6 years ago, checkmating Ahnt O'j in 37 moves for his first crown. With his second title in 2 years, the title of Grand Master was officially given to him. He continues to compete in the Crown, and has defended his title 4 times, winning the crown another 3 times (In Carmadin, the title Grand Master is given after winning the Crown twice consecutively. You must then defeat the current Grand Master in a 9-match playoff. Losing the playoff means you will be Granted the title of Grand Master together. at any time, the junior Grand Master may challenge the senior Grand Master to replay the 9-match playoff. Ot'j has not yet had to face off in the 9-match playoff, and currently rules unchallenged. He is looking to take his amazing chess skill global, and take the title of world Grand Master.
Style: aggressive, but he knows when to let the opponent move himself into a trap, and knows the value of sacrifice. 0.6

May I suggest that you make the semis and the finals be more than just one match? Maybe even quarters too... Just an idea.

I must agree

Perhaps 3 for the quarters,
5 for the semis,
and 9 for the final

also,on an unrelated note,we should make this like UICA, where nations gain rank by how well their players do, and this determines how many players they may enter next tournament
There can also be qualifying rounds

I can do up some ranks, after the tournament ends, and discuss formulae with the council of elders (Pawn&King, and Novikov)
TG me for questions on that

Also, may I suggest changing this thread name to:
*International Chess Tournament Disscussion Thread*

and this shall end my ramblings

Previous discussion within this thread shows that it is likely more than 1 game will be scorinated to achieve the results of matches (I was thinking best of 3 for a normal game, best of 5 for quarters, best of 7 for semis, best of 9 for finals). However, you must also take in mind the high number of draws at this level of chess - usually around half the games are draws. So a game that was best of 3 is likely to be 1 draw, 1 win for each player.

Nations will gain some form of rank, similar to how chessplayers receive FIDE ratings. That'd be interesting to add, and not altogether difficult. In regards to multiple entrants - maybe not in the same league, not this early, anyway. We'll see how much demand arises.

You'd be better off discussing formulae with Novikov, he largely deals with everything, to be honest. He's rather marvellous, but of course, I'm privleged to be in the council of elders ;)

Good idea for the title, I'll do that somewhat.
Thank you for the ramblings.
