The leader of the ponyists, Joy Kabernov, released the following statement:
"The Zottish swine oppress us! They claim to love freedom and equality, but they allow people to preach their hate every day in our streets! Whenever Ponies are massacred in foriegn lands, they complain, they protest, but they never do anything about it! Well, I decree no more! Unless complete control of the Allied States of Zottistan is signed over to me within 48 hours, me and my forces will kill every last human man, woman and child in this land. We have greater numbers than you know."
This resulted in nationwide riots; some people lashed out against ponies. The majority of the pony populace sat quietly back, hiding from vengeful patriots, but an astonishing 35% openly showed support for the terrorists. Premium Harkarov released the following counter-statement:
"Please, we must stop this madness! Zottistan is a peaceful place, we don't want any war! It is because we love peace that we must allow the foreign nations to do as they will with their populace; if we don't, they could come after us! They could invade, and we are not strong enough to defend our sovereignty!"
The riots have ravaged through Zottistan: several of the extremist pony factions have marched on symbols of Zottistan: the Piotorgrad square, the National Academy and the I.A.Z. headquarters among many others.
Meanwhile, the anti-pony rioters have been reported to have killed 160 ponies so far, mor than half of which were innocent.
The situation in the Red Palace has not improved, with a bloodbath forming outside between the extremists and the anti-pony protesters.

Premium Karl Harkarov, Zottish military conference room, undisclosed location
This was a sad day for Zottistan. The great and peaceful nation had been cast into utter chaos in less than three hours.
Premium Harkarov walked into the conference room, solomnly greeting the generals and marshals around the table. He sat, taking a sip from the glass of water next to his spot.
"Gentlemen, we need action," he said.
"We can't just kill them. That goes against Zottish spirit," replied one of the generals.
"Desperate times call for desperate measures."
"But still," said another general, "Our army isn't strong enough to take on the protesters since the president cut almost all the funding. How we managed to afford this place is beyond me."
The Premium rubbed his temples. "We can't do anything: it would be un-Zottish and very difficult...we could inform the national community, however.
Shortly afterward, the following communiqué was released:
EMERGENCY COMUNIQUÉ
FROM: PREMIUM KARL HARKAROV OF ZOTTISTAN
TO: THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY
We would like to ask for assistance in a very pressing prediciment: a coup that is being attempted on our government. These terrorists are evil: they corrupt the beautiful idea of ponyism and would violate our fair nation with fascism. We urge you all to help us. Zottistan needs your help.
“Pax, pax per effecta”
