Hauntings/Apparitions In Your Nation

Postby Lancaster of Wessex » Sun Oct 30, 2011 6:49 am

Simply put: what is the most famous/infamous apparition/haunting(s) in your nation, if any?

The most famous in Lancaster of Wessex is in a certain room in The Ancestral Estate, where the ghost of a past Duke of Wessex, Duke John Lancaster, is said to reside. During the English Civil war, he was penning a letter to Royalist forces where he was murdered by a household servant, loyal to the Parliamentarian forces.

To this day, his spirit is said to appear at the same writing desk, which has gone untouched since that day, still trying to finish the letter that never was.

Given that we kill Millions of organic life forms a month, there have reports of illogical energy masses running freely around the facilities. We ignore them.

The USSK on Anomalies

Postby Kaizerxisiv » Sun Oct 30, 2011 5:06 pm

There are numerous sightings of these sorts of things in the USSK, mostly near battlefields. The People have their own feelings and theories on them, and the Government declines to treat them as an issue. Most citizens deal with them based on their religious preference.

The huge number of mass graves dated all the way back to medieval times which are scattered about the nation mean that ghost sightings are not uncommon or unbelievable. And considering the government's way of looking at things, it's hard to blame them for haunting up a damn ruckus. Considering the fact that most of them were witches or infidels anyhow, people just sprinkle a little salt on their windowsills and go about their business as usual.

There are millions of sightings of unexplained apparitions within the Greater Aestii Empire. There are also thousands of allegedly haunted places within our borders. The most allegedly haunted of these is the Chatice Building pictured below.

The building was used as a hospital during the Maranaqian Civil War and is said to be extremely haunted. It is a popular attraction for ghost hunters and people looking for a good scare.

To date there have been no credible reports of hauntings or apparitions. All have been uniformly dismissed as hoaxes and the musings of druggies, and all attempts to communicate with the dead have been unsuccessful. The Consortium of Necromancers subsequently went bankrupt and people lost interest in the matter.

BOO!

Postby TurtleShroom » Sun Oct 30, 2011 6:58 pm

There is a collosal sect of witchcraft practioners and sorcerers in the borders of TurtleShroom. One percent of TurtleShroom's population is reported to engange in dark arts/magic, but that's only what we could report. Sorcery is a felonious crime that brings forty years in prison, and sorcery-based crimes have their own isolated prison designed to stave off their power.

There are thirty prisons in TurtleShroom that can currently execute prisoners. All of these have had hundreds of ghost sightings each, and are actually a major source of tourism in TurtleShroom. Most of these ghosts are thought to be the hundreds of thousands of convicts that died over the history of the penal system, or the nations' estimated one million nine hundred fifty thousand creatures put to death since TurtleShroom's founding in 1796.
(On average, ten thousand death row inmates are executed per annum for various capital crimes.)

In our prison system alone, there have been roughly sixty thousand unique sightings of ghosts/spirits/whatever over since 2006. TurtleShroomer law enforcement honestly consider this because of the fierce hand religion wields on the nation. Police, military, and espionage agents all receive some sort of at least basic training to deal with the paranormal, primarily demons and zombies, but also ghosts and aliens.

Ghost hunters and private-sector tourists and paranormal investigators are frequently in the prisons for their own amusement and adventures.

A lot of the more benign/comical/obviously false sorcerors are put here to be cared for in our mental institutions. Creatures that think they are a god (or God), and the demon possessed are also holed up here with the gender identity disorder victims and some extreme transvestites.
Since there are allegedly possessed and delusional creatures dealing with the paranormal here, there have been lesser accounts of haunting and ghostly activity, though unlike prison, what they lack in quantity they make up in entertainment value.

Mental institutions do not permit tourism as prisons do, because, unlike prisons, folks in the loonie bin are treaded with humane dignity and sympathy, while convicts are dehumanized to break their spirit.

So yes, TurtleShroom has plenty of paranormal activity. It's sort of funny to note that almost all of its paranormality is linked to actions of the government: involuntary institutionalization and arrests feed the buildings that are most haunted.

The thirty privatized prisons with death chambers are by far the most haunted.

Of all known paranormal sightings- and yes, the government logs them -well over eighty five percent of them, possibly ninety or even higher, are in the public sector.
Libertarians eat this fact up!

There's a constant stream of reports of ghost sightings at the War Memorial National Cemetery in the Memorial District of Magna Polis. Reports typically include claims of seeing literally thousands of ghosts of GWO servicemen and women, some of them displaying their fatal wounds, marching in one direction... towards what?

None since we are a well educated nation where belief in ghosts, spirits, and demons is very low.

We have nuermous haunted places and apparitions reported each year. Most of which are explained, however, the few that aren't reach such media mediums such as the internet, television and newspapers.

Image

This is the Château de Torini, which is officially the most haunted location in Valcluse. Once a majestic country estate owned by the Torini family of Italian stock, the Château de Torini sat as the jewel in the Compte de Torini's estate.

In August 1798, republican partisans took over the estate during the War of Seccession (1796-1800) and murdered the count and his family. He was hung outside. The château was then destroyed in three weeks of fighting. It was decided to be left in ruins as a reminder of the triumph of the republicans against the French monarchy.

The Count, his wife, and five children haunt the grounds and the château itself, sometimes engaging in poltergeist activity by throwing bits of wood and stone at anyone that comes near to the château. Allegedly, the ghosts of the republicans who fought here also haunt the location and sometimes, the sound of musket fire can be heard on long hot summer evenings. Pictures and videos of ghosts and paranormal atcivity in the area are abound, as are countless tales of encounters with paranormal beings.

None, as anyone claiming to have seen such a thing is dismissed as an idiot and possibly committed involuntarily to a mental hospital. :D

There are hundreds, if not thousands, of haunted places in Tsvarchi. One of the most notable ones is an old warehouse in Cuerak, which is a hotbed for ghosts, with sightings dating back to the 1920s.

There are countless haunted places within the federation with tales of old warriors walking over former battlefields, old noblemen walking through their corridors in their old palaces, abandoned orphanages that one can hear laughter come form and so on and so on.

The most commonly known ghost story though is the white lady that can be found wandering hans khöngliga höghet Karl rex stjärnkhrone III's harbour in Imerbürg on fogy nights, wearing a old dress so have she been seen walking towards the end pier where she stands watching out over the sea until the sun rises and she disappears, most people believes that she is a soldier's widow waiting for her husband to come home from some battlefield or another which have made her a rather sympathetic spirit in federal folklore.

There is an ancient Lazssian legend about beings known as the Morgul. The Morgul were said to be the spirits of men who had committed grievous crimes in life, and were punished by having to eternally ride across the earth, and hunt down those who were wicked, and drag them to Hell. It was said that Morgul would appear as hooded, ghostly figures, who rode on demonic steeds, and carried swords that could capture your soul.
