Di Bradini Cup 19 (RP/Rosters/Scores)

Timeline note: I consider the DBC to take place in between the Finals of one World Cup and the Qualifiers of the next, so the DBC would also take place after the Cup of Harmony. So for those of you worrying about timeline clashes and young players in two places at once, be at peace thanks to the wonders of fluid time.

The Nineteenth Di Bradini Cup
a.k.a
The 40th Under-21 World Cup

The Starblaydi Football Association presents, for the nineteeth time, the latest edition of its own Under-21 international tournament, recognised as the direct successor to the old Under-21 World Cup. This will mark the landmark fortieth edition of the Under-21 World Cup and, as such, we're all hoping for a great edition this time around.

This tournament is now named after Starblaydia's most-famous player, the first person to score for Starblaydia's own Under-21s, currently the fifth-highest goalscorer in Starblaydia's history, World Cup Winner, member of the World Cup Hall of Fame and one-time President of the World Cup Committee: Simeone Di Bradini. We present, for your participation: The 19th Di Bradini Cup, a.k.a. The 40th Under-21 World Cup!

With all matches played in Starblaydia, and the final at the massive 196,754-capacity Stadii Di Bradini, there's everything to play for to be crowned the premier Under-21 team in the world as the future stars of tomorrow compete to be the best!

40 places have been filled. An incredible 31 of the 32 participating nations posted a roster last time - coud this be the edition with 100% of players named? See you on the pitch!

For now, post your rosters and any other pre-Cup RPs - rule number one, enjoy!

GK: Edwin Alexis- Coming up through the ranks of Cyborg Hollands top club, Edwin has played in goal 13 times for the under 21s, Standing at 6ft 5, he is quite a fearsome presence, having also played rugby for Cyborg Holland U-19s. He has a speical ability of saving penalties, keeping morale of the team up even during the worst of times (Club: FC Guingamp)

LD: Mark Leknei- The Captain of this Inexperienced side, having only been capped 11 times, but a strong, stubborn Defender none the less. He often gets over excited and goes in to hard in tackles.Other team attackers Watch out (This guy islikely to cause injuries and get booked) (FC Guingamp)

CD: William Orange- A quick, agile Defender more akin to playing in the midefield role, but a sturdy tackler and has a big boot on him, ability to score from long ranges makes him a very useful player. A devoutly religious player, he refuses to play on a Sunday. (Club: Orange State)

CD: Tim von Kreisler- The leaset Experienced player in the side, with no caps, but has hown real promise in Cyborg Hollands National League paying for FC Guingamp, helping them to a 4th league title. He is 6ft 7 and is very good at getting his head in around corners, and scoring vital goals. (Club

RD: Rob der Sleter- Having been capped three times by the senior side, he knows all the tricks of the trade, and is very good at challenging speedy wingers down the left

DM: Dan Anderson- Born and raised into Football, his Father is manager of Cyborg Hollands National team. He is quick on his feet and suprisingly nimble for 6ft 2. Tackles hard and leaves no marks.

DM: William van Couvenhevan- Capped once by this side, he is prone to making mistakes, however he is a good sweeper and has a good eye on him, able to pick out great passes

AM: Fredrik Larsen- The quickest player on the side, able to weave his way thourgh oppositition defences and strike powerfully, he is 5ft 11, so he is still quite a presence

AM: Cameron Krez- Scored the National League's Goal of the season last year, and is This teams top goalscorer, with 13 goals. Nicknamed " Het vliegtuig" Meaning the jet, because of his ability to fire missile-like shots (Likely Goalscorer)

CST: Harald Meitzer- The Most capped player in the side, having playd for this side 24 times and the senior side 5 times. He is a great finisher with good running ability, Defenders watch out (Likely Goalscorer)

CST: Olivier Canter- Son of Cyborg Holland Football star Jan Eldebrik, who is currently managing FC Guingamp. This player is dynamic as any forward but is one who likes to show off his tricks and get a bit cocky (Get fould and Injured a bit)

The Plane touched down in Starblydia's Capital under the setting sun.... The Players walked off and Greated the Ex-Pat Community that had come to live in Starblydia, about 55 of them. They took a private bus to thier hotel and training Facility. Because of the Large time difference, the Players didn't sleep, so got drunk and got told off by the Hotel Manager. Going to bed at 10am felt odd to them, and waking up at 9pm was even stranger. Training, for the first few nights, would take place under lights. They hoped they could reach the Round of 16, and possibly beyond....

Team Information:
Nation: Southern Cynocephali (SCY)
Nickname: Les Briards
Demonym: Cynocephalian
Manager: Léon D'Lote
Asst. Manager/Coach: Stephanie Voiture
The inexperience of many of the squad has been bolstered by the experience some of the youngsters gained at the recent World Cup. The team will be led by Yong Schweiss who made an impression off the bench at the Cup and is on the verge of securing a first team place. Léon Lafontaine will lead the attack, however like most other U-21s in the national squad he has seen very little, if any, game time in the national side. Despite this, these players will have benefited from being part of the setup and the coach will be looking for them to lead the inexperienced players on and off the pitch. A recognised weakness is the left side of the defense which is inexperienced and untested at a serious level, and Siegel and Carlton will be kept busy helping out from the right side.

The Herald

Report by Bruce Mtwetwe

Well after entering the world stage with a bang winning the Baptism of Fire 43, Kalumba has decided to enter another untried team of amateurs to the De Bradini Cup 19. This time the younglings will play and hope to emulate the success of their counterparts in the national side. Many of the squad have been given leave from the compulsory national service to participate in this prestigious competition. This is one of the few times leave has been granted by the high command, probably due to the winding down of the intensity of the insurgency and the importance of our standing on the world stage.

The most exciting players in the team appear to be Mobisbo Abraham the giant native who has terrorised defences throughout the country and seems to be able to get his head to everything and of course Herbert Abouto. The cousin of Chris, the national side winger, the two have many similarities. Both are fast as lightening and have marvellous skills. Hopefully he can emulate his relative and produce many crucial assissts. On the subject of family Bruce Ottbourne seems destined to follow in his fathers footsteps in player for his country. Let us hope like Terrence he can bring glory to Kalumba.

The starting eleven is expected to be:

Phillips

Kerr
Ottbourne
Sims
Piet

Abouto
Smith
McTavish

Stuik
Anderson
Abraham

This attacking 4-3-3 formation signals William Stock's intent to go forward and attack other teams but still show Kalumba's typical cautioness and ability to defend. Hopefully they will not recieve a nickname like 'The Tortoises' like the national team did for their negative defensive performances. It also reflected when they got turned over they were massacered. But hope is the surname of the game and we wish our younglings the greatest of luck.
Unilateral Declaration of Indifference viewtopic.php?f=23&t=111178 - Honestly Kalumba has no interest in you or your problems.

You could almost say that the Darmen U-21 squad is actually just an Eau Claire United-Chippewa Falls Strykers All*Star Team in disguise. All of the players from DBC18 are back, and hopefully experience will lead the way. Darmen is in Group D, and will face tough opponents in Cassadaigua, Stuffed Taxidermists, and Swartaz. Darmen will hope to finish first or second in it's group, after a disapointing finish of last in DBC 18.

Francisco Lyons the XXIst is the captain. He is also a member of the National Beach Soccer Team. Lyons is fast. Look for him to attack through the middle of the field and collect crosses from Turko and Tome.

Lyons's Beach Soccer teammate, Fernando Grevsthan, 21, is a good hopefull to make the DBC 20 squad, unless of course he turns 22 before that.

DBC 19 will be the first Cup to feature 40 teams. The Starblaydian Hosts did not release any information on why the expansion was made, but we do know that Darmen played a big part in the expansion.

Tamarindia
Di Bradini Cup Under-21 Roster

For our first Di Bradini Cup entry, The Tamarindian Syndicate for Football will be sending our young emerging professionals who made up the teams that conducted themselves with great credit at the recent Beach Cup in Mangolana (third place) and the World Indoor Soccer Championships (winners). Once more we hope to surprise one or two people with our unique brand of naïve and panic-stricken football. And make friends from foreign lands at our tactical parties. And avoid creating International Incidents.

Image
Colours: Yellow shirts, black & white trim; white shorts, yellow & black trim; black socks
Second: All light blue with white trim

RP PERMISSIONS
Granted in full: Knock yourself out - or us. Anything goes, except preserve us from death or supernatural happenings.

Image
Modifier: A slightly petrified -2.5

Under-21 International Squad

Nickname: The Tamarins
Demonyms: Tamarindian, Tamarindo, Tamar
Manager: Lars van Driel
Captain: Antonio Tejada
Vice Captain: Andrés Durán
Artist: Yancey Ortíz
Dynamo: Hannibal Costa
Stormtrooper: Alejandro Canó

Manager: Lars van Driel, 58
Personality/management style - creative: Funded his trip and that of his family (wife, au pair and six sons, all over 18) to the Beach Cup in Mangolana by arranging players loans to the Alfabeto's Abdian Beach Soccer League for commission fees.

Assistant: Kevin Trim, 49
Resilient: van Driel fires and rehires him at least once a week.

Tactician & Au Pair: Isabella de Llanura (age unknown).
Temperamental: Has caused International Incidents through feisty confrontations with officials of various nations, including Johz, Spitfyred and Civil Citizenry. It is not clear if Isabella works for Coach Lars, or Coach Lars works for Isabella.

Coach & Scout: Eduardo Ramirez (age unknown).
Personality undescribed. Appearance unknown. Listed on the roster but never appears at matches or even in the team hotel. May be Specialist Jean-Baptiste Duzant, of the Academy for International Relations, who manages the prevention of International Incidents.

Advisory team:
General Hans Klaus. Retired Spitfyred soldier, tour manager. Primarily responsible for time-keeping, a great weakness of Tamarindo society.
Alukimanob Cerganolaf. Civil Citizen usually referred to as simply Aluki, security manager. Assisting with 'cultural barriers' and 'acclimatisation'.
Chu Mango. Mangolanadian war veteran, tour fixer. Very resourceful on the ground, useful for getting things and finding people who get things.
Nurse Imogen of Mangolana, health & fitness practitioner. Looks after the injured with extra care and attention.

Additional Persons:
Chandi Sín-Tankles: Embedded reporter with Kikker Daily. Famous as the wife of Ryevolian midfielder Dave Tankles, remarkable investigative journalist and erotic contortionist.

PLAYING STAFF

Goalkeepers

Eduardo Reyes, GK, 21, Cervantes. STARTER
Personality/playing style - showman: Literally. Born of a travelling circus family and claims to be a tiger-whisperer. Recently engaged a Western Cuban streaker and part of the BC4 squad.

Salvador Hernández, GK, 21, Espanyol
Motivator: In tests proved to have the loudest shout in the entire squad. First ever Tamarindian international goal scorer in a freak accidental clearance, broke his wrist in the goal celebration and duly lost his starting place to Reyes.

Defenders

Elián Carmenate, DC, 19, Astillero, (currently on loan at Elephdonkeys, Abdian Beach Soccer League)
Personality/playing style - eccentric: Sleeps with his eyes open. Played in BC4.

Iván Encarnación, DC, 18, Astillero
Brave: Rooms with Carmenate on international trips. Played in BC4.

Feliberto García, DC, 21, Espanyol STARTER, DC
Flashy: Once deliberately nutmegged his own keeper in a league match and saved the ball from going in the net for an OG with a backheeled clearance off the line. Played in BC4.

Victor Henry, DC DM MC, 18, Estudiantes (currently on loan at Jasmuur Ospreys, Swartaz). STARTER, DC
Introvert: Perhaps the most gifted Tamarindian teenager in a generation. May be deaf – players often communicate with him through sign language. Youngest ever Tamarindian full cap winner.

Andrés Durán, D RL, 21, Académica Libertad. Vice Captain. STARTER, DL
Leader: Son of a world boxing champion – you wouldn't argue with him. World Indoor Soccer Champions medal.

José Frederick, DL, 20, Estudiantes (currently on loan at Bison, Abdian Beach Soccer League)
Introvert: Nicknamed Silencío for his conversational skills. World Indoor Soccer Champions medal.

Alejandro Canó, D RC, 18, Sparta Misión, STARTER, DR
Determined: Is reputed to have run through a breeze-block wall for a bet. Determined and strong, already a cultured footballer and expected to be the national team captain in time, certainly one of the best prospects in the whole country. The only member of the squad who would argue with Durán. World Indoor Soccer Champions medal.

Joel de la Hoz, DR, 18, Racing Castro (currently on loan at Bison, Abdian Beach Soccer League)
Reliable: Intends to be a kitman after retiring from the game. World Indoor Soccer Champions medal.

Midfielders

José López, DM, 20, Uruguayans (currently on loan at LaVilla, Churchma).
Personality/playing style - motivator: Can do breed-specific dog-barking impressions. Fiesty midfield dynamo with stamina to burn, López is a great motivator and a natural captain.

Antonio Tejada, DM/MC, 21, Astillero, Captain STARTER, MC
Eccentric: Claims not to understand the rules of football. Clearly not the case.

Iván Calvo, M R, 20, Astillero STARTER, MR
Unpredictable: Really does not understand the rules of football. Mercury was invented so that commentators could call Calvo 'mercurial'.

Mike Viola, M LC, 21, Juniors Cisne,
Flaky: Does not like playing under floodlights, reputedly because he is afraid of the dark.

Hannibal Costa, MC, 20, Los Mineros, STARTER, MC
Resilient: He's called Hannibal. And sometimes Attila. And Genghis Khan. And other famous barbarian warrior types. Played in BC4.

Jansel Ortega, AM RL, 21, Atletico Misión STARTER, ML
Temperamental: Does not like cry-babies, scaredy-cats or sloths.

Danny Báez, AM C, 20, Creciente
Lazy: Nicknamed El Pereza – The Sloth - for his all-round coverage of the pitch, or lack of.

Strikers

Benito Barbosa, ST, 20, AS Cruzando
Introvert: Nicknamed The Kitchen, because that's where you'll find him at parties. Played in BC4.

Yancey Ortíz, ST, 21, Estudiantes STARTER
Personality/playing style - eccentric: Celebrates scoring by staging small one-man interpretations of Shakespeare. Has been so successful he may soon need to move on to the poetry of Tennyson or the epics of Homer. Played in BC4.

Kwesi Ferrer, AM/F C, 21, Astillero, STARTER
Ambitious: Unusually for a Tamarindo, he wants to win everything. World Indoor Soccer Champions medal.

Karel Ramos, ST, 19, Sparta Misión (currently on loan at Swift BC, Abdian Beach Soccer League)
Eccentric: Seagulls, trawlers, the philosophy of the Marseillaise - that sort of thing. World Indoor Soccer Champions medal.

Daniel Magnín, FC, 19, Creciente (currently on loan at LaVilla, Churchma)
Creative: A renowned storyteller and confidence trickster, liar, sleight-of-hand magician and card shark. New call-up to the under 21s this season. Future superstar.

Stuffed Taxidermists National Under 21 Team

Nation Name: The Dictatorship of Stuffed Taxidermists
Nation Code: STX
Governing Body: Stuffed Taxidermists Football Association

*Starters in Bold
Formation: 4-4-2

Goalkeepers
Garry Holes (Baker Fief) (20) Captain
The obvious choice for captain, Holes is a superstar. He performed fantastically at the World Cup, stopping many shots and helping his team to a goals positive finish. Holes is fan favourite, and even at the age of 20 is the first choice keeper for the national team.

Marco Gascoyne Jr. (Brenton Athletic) (17)
Marco is the son of business man Marco Gascoyne Sr., and he has some talent. He has been signed by Brenton athletic recently and is looking forward to a good future in the Stuffed Taxidermists First Division.

Defenders
Bailey Casveinin (Stuffed Taxidermists Youth Academy) (17)
One of the brightest prospects at the National Youth Academy, Casveinin is a sought after player. He should put on a good performance and he is a truly team centred player.

James Hail (Western Hillmen) (15)
Younger brother of Western Hillmen defender Jack Hail, James Hail shows plenty of promise. He should start on the bench and will go after the ball fiercely when he is given game time.

Bernie Nix (Honda FC) (19)
The yound Honda defender was surprised to learn that he was included in the team. The selection will have completed his season, with Honda being promoted to the First Division.

Brad Scarborough (Eastern Rangers) (17)
Drafted straight from the National Youth Academy by the Eastern Rangers. Scarborough has impressed scouts for years and alot of pressure is on him to perform, as he has a birght future at the Rangers and could be a future first 11 player.

Gigi (Cape Renko Dolphins) (18)
Another talented player from Cape Renko, we get these every couple of years. His native talent is obvious and the boy was raised to play football.

Drew Petrie (Denzio Demons) (18)
A good pick up for the Denzio Demons, Petrie is a dangerous player. He likes to boot the ball long and isn't afraid to go right in and tackle a player.

Colby Trangelo (Wanderers FC Youth Academy) (17)
Trangelo was a local talent in Retuka for many years before his signing with the brand new Wanderers FC Academy. He should put in some effort and that could result in a pump up of rank in the Wanderers team.

Midfielders
Matt Hartburg (Eastern Rangers) (20) Vice Captain
The top draftee at the Youth Academy this season, Hartburg had pretty much every team asking for him. He chose the Rangers though, and was an easy decision for Vice Captain.

Chad Nipolisa (Eastern Rangers) (19)
Another signing for the Rangers, although not as hyped as Hartburg Nipolisa certainly does have talent. Likes to try and trick his way past the opposition.

Patrick O'Martin (FC Cantac 1899) (18)
A local siging for the Cantac, of course. Has a strong Irish accent, and now that he's old enough to drink it he can't stop talking about beer.

Deon Vinley (Supernovae) (18)
Another expected star. Vinley chose to go to Supernovae as a high pick, even though the clubs future is in doubt. Another team player, he rarely scores even if given the chance.

Sam Harlot (Supernovae) (18)
A Youth Academy signing. He is not the most skilled player, but his efforts are unmatched and he is very brave. Also the teams comedian, which gets him into some trouble.

Michael Paralax (Thaplace City Tigers) (19)
Very serious about his football, Michael goes into 'the zone' before games and doesn't even come out after the match is finished. Rarely talks but is always there on the field.

Masoli Ninos (Wanderers FC) (20)
A less than necessary addition to the Wanderers squad, Ninos will have to put in a good effort or he might not be fancied for a match att Wanderers. Known as a conman and pretends to not know the English language.

Adam Ganister (Denborough FC) (18)
He could be a really good player if he played at a good team. This cup is a good chance for him to prove himself as a quality attacking midfielder.

Strikers
Kevin Crable (Eastern Rangers) (16)
Yet another signing for the Rangers. Crable, well, craves the ball and rarely gives it up on the field. Off the field he is quite arrogant.

Conan Vaniel (Thaplace City Tigers) (19)
The second of the Irish players on the team, he likes to goof off with 'Paddy' (Patrick O'Martin) and is known as the second comedian of the squad. On the field, he is good and is more liked than Crable.

Nathan Deralio (Gonesville Knights) (20)
Deralio was expected to be a starter for the team and you could see the disappointment in his eys when they said he was not. He has gone through a rough couple of years and may not perform well.

Michael Reading (Leads City) (19)
Younger brother of John Reading. When combined with his brother he perfroms well, but it's hard to see him making an influence without his elders guidance.

Granye Melona (Supernovae) (18)
Melona was expected to be a star striker in the Youth Academy but suffered a shocking leg injury and never showed much promise after that.

Di Bradini Boot Camp

Postby The Golden Tamarind » Fri Aug 19, 2011 8:55 am

Di Bradini Boot Camp

For five days before flying off to the Di Bradini Cup the Tamarindian Syndicate for Football's national under 21 squad roomed together at the National Academy facility in Libertad, where they enjoyed a period of intensive training, some restrained socialising, and a daily acclimatisation lecture from a member of the advisory team. It was hoped that by approaching the competition more scientifically, they might do better than the last tour. Not that two semi-final placings and a competition win out of three sign-ups was bad. It wasn't so much the football as the organisation and incidents around it that worried the Commissioner of Tamarindian football, Jose Antonio Apraiz. He had experienced first hand how chaotic things could get for a Tamarindo abroad, let alone twenty-five of them, when he had visited Mangolana during the Beach Cup.

Commissioner Apraiz, no slouch himself in the shambolic stakes, had taken the advice of several experts on organising the Starblaydia Acclimatisation Boot Camp, including the Good Doctor himself, President Sunshine. He hoped to have an incident-free tour, and thought it best to get a tourist – that's the Tamarindo word for foreigner - to manage things. His good friend, the retired General, Hans Klaus, a Spitfresi who joined the gaggle of foreigners on the Mangolanadian tour, fit the bill perfectly.

On the first day of bootcamp: A Darmeni militia man.

General Klaus demonstrated an uncanny knowledge of the world outside of football in his presentation about security threats in Starblaydia. On the whole he felt the greatest threat to the Young Tamarins was their own misadventure, ably demonstrated by Édinson Reyes of Espanyol who had jumped into a tornado in Mangolana for a dare and was presently spending two seasons in rehabilitation following extensive internal, external and spiritual injury. Nevertheless, said General Klaus, security must be taken seriously. In particular the rogue Darmenicanian militia man known only as Bosch who had hounded two Tamarindian football fans across Rushmore region after they turned down the opportunity to smuggle drugs for the resistance. Bosch, said the scout, was still on the loose, and everyone should be extra vigilant for a heavy-breathing lone gunman with a look of profound irritation in his eyes. José Frederick, not considered one of the brighter members of the squad, put his hand up and asked if Bosch suffered from hayfever, lactose intolerance, or perhaps a nut allergy.

On the second day of bootcamp: Two purple loves.

Very Civil Citizen Aluki came to bootcamp to talk all things Starbladistani. The first thing he taught the Young Tamarins was that it wasn't really proper to call them Starbladistanis, and especially not Staris, because although that's what they had taught in Tamarindo schools for generations, they were largely considered pejorative terms in the Purple Country.

Aluki then explained to the boys that two things above all else were loved by the Purple Folk: Simeone di Bradini and The Colour Purple. He told them how SDB, as he was commonly known, was almost a saint in the country, with a belief that he is immortal and managing a team in some kind of heaven. When the boys laughed with great mirth at this hilarious superstition, Aluki reminded them that to mock Simeone was to invite great trouble in Starblaydia, like lynch mobs, forced deportation, or at the very least some angry spitting. Similarly, inappropriate use of The Colour Purple was likewise frowned upon. José Frederick put his hand up and asked if other epistolary novels were similarly vaunted in Starbladistani culture.

On the third day of day of bootcamp: Women, bears and elves.

Isabella de Llanura, no stranger to controversy herself, but now it seemed under the tutelage of Aluki, a reformed character, presented to the shocked audience of young Tamarindo footballers some surprising facts about what to expect of their opposition. She introduced them to biological taxonomy, the Classification of Living Things first proposed by Carolus Linnaeus: kingdom, phylum, class, order, family, genus and species. Once they were familiar with the concept – for some, being footballers, it took a while – she delivered the surprising news. There would be different species, different geni, families, and even orders of animals competing. Women, for example. And bears. And elves, apparently. They would have to get used to playing against very unusual opposition, and keep in mind that not only was it impolite to stare, it was also counter-productive during a football match. There was a stunned silence, until José Frederick put his hand up and asked if elves were mammals.

On the fourth day of bootcamp: The Four Families.

Mangolanadian war veteran and tour fixer Chu Mango, who imagined his legs were prosthetics after losing his real ones in The Grenade War defending Colaboral Beach against the North Mango scum, told the team of his connections with the Starblaydi underground. He described to them the places they should not go without Chu along to 'make things right' with the presiding criminal gangs of poorer districts, and what things would need to be arranged with the Four Families should the players need performance enhancing monkey glands, specialist tea blends, otherwise unavailable Tamarindian delicacies (yes, the Chiabutu boys could get Tamar Barking Toads to order, even Chu didn't know how), or designer trainers at discount prices. José Frederick put his hand up and asked if -

- but Chu refused to be drawn on the details.

On the fifth day of bootcamp: Ties. Goals. And wings.

Masvidal came to camp on the last day to give a rousing speech intended to inspire the Young Tamarins to great achievements on the football field. Former captain of the under 21s and full international captain-in-waiting, Masvidal secretly hoped one day to be as great as Simeone di Bradini, and perhaps to have an under 17 international tournament named after him, and to have his name reduced to an acronym just like SDB, although his would obviously just be M and you would have to be very good indeed to make that stick.

His speech to the young men of Tamarindia was a rousing one, exhorting them to do better, to strive harder, to think quicker than they had ever done so before. At intervals when he made a particularly patriotic statement he thumped his chest with such passion that many of the boys winced, and hoped he did not plan to pat them on the back or slap them on the arm when he finished. He spoke of the goalkeepers, who must not fear the penalty kick, and of the defence, who must not fear to be injured. He spoke of the midfield who must run a marathon like Kenyans each and every game, and fight like tigers for every ball. Of the wingers he said no greater responsibility was given, for they must provide the ammunition for the strikers, and never cease to bombard the opposition penalty area. And finally he exhorted the strikers to score, score, score, to shoot on sight, to defend from the front and many other clichés relating to the forward positions. So powerful was his speech, no-one, not even José Frederick, questioned him, but their hearts raced and they roared with anticipation, even Mike Viola, the nervous one. When he was done, he gave them all a yellow and black tie that he'd had made especially, embroidered with The Tamarin; he shook their hand, and gave them a pat on the back or a slap on the arm, and a bruise each to take to Starblaydia for good luck.

The Astograth U-21 National Football Team

Manager: Bayardo Echegarai
Style: +1
Colours

Starting XI:
#1 - GK - Urgutz Martinena - Age 21 - Royal Arexa
Already starting keeper for the newly promoted Royal Arexa, Martinena has only recently revealed his great skills. Solid as far as reflexes, positioning, handling and aerial ability go, but indecision tends to hold him back instead of rushing out when he should.

#7 - LB - Urtzi Galard - Age 21 - Royal Rumiatzi - 9 youth caps
This will be Galard's third and final Di Bradini Cup, a competition that has allowed him to showcase his quick, offensive runs down the wing and earn a place in the starting lineup of the prestigious Royal Rumiatzi. Tireless for the full ninety and an expert crosser, his link-ups with Barta on the left wing are frequently devastating.

#2 - CB - Erramun Echebarria - Age 21 - Sporting Iturributa - 5 youth caps
A product of the prolific Sporting school of defenders, Echebarria isn't particularly tall or strong, but makes up for it with speed, stamina and bravery. Despite his short age he has plenty of experience, having spent several seasons already in Sporting's first team.

#5 - CB - Eusko Kuruchet - Age 20 - Image Al Haxire - 3 youth caps
From the distant Taeshani league comes the hardworking Kuruchet, who began the last Di Bradini Cup as a substitute and finished as an undisputed starter. His positioning in particular is terrific, though he sometimes tackles harder than he should.

#16 - RB - Hitzeder Kareaga - Age 20 - South Factory - 5 youth caps
Fairly fast and good at passing, but rather inconsistent with his performances. Loses focus at the most inappropriate times.

#17 - LM - Zuzen Barta (C) - Age 21 - Iturributa United - 8 youth caps, 3 goals
Like Galard, this will be his third Di Bradini Cup, and this time he has been handed the captain's armband. Plays seamless football, weaving together dribbles and passes with tremendous skill, and isn't afraid to shoot at goal either.

#6 - CM - Agoztar Gorstiaga - Age 19 - Image FKM - 4 youth caps
Gorstiaga's performance at Di Bradini Cup 18 was so inspired that Pazhujebi giant Zhevassi signed him as soon as possible. Now he's been transferred to the Kagdaz FKM, where he hopes to display his quick feet, pinpoint passing and powerful shot. Though defending isn't his strong suit, he doesn't think twice about recklessly throwing himself to the ground to recover the ball.

#8 - RM - Kauldi Ayatsbehers - Age 21 - Royal Rumiatzi - 2 youth caps
Alongside Galard, Ayatsbehers is the finest product of the Royal Rumiatzi youth ranks in recent years. A very aggressive player, much like Barta he prefers to cut inside and either shoot or play a short pass backwards instead of going wide and crossing.

#10 - AM - Aintza Lekea - Age 18 - Image FC Mildrid
Signed at such a young age by the renowned FC Mildrid of Erathore, Lekea's future couldn't look brighter. Selfish with the ball and a bit of a diver, but his tricks and free kicks are so brilliant the manager doesn't care.

#9 - CF - Ikatz Ansotegi - Age 21 - The Army Club
Broke into the first team and then the starting lineup of the controversial Army Club last season thanks to his sheer speed, height and brute force. Nicknamed 'The Locomotive', Ansotegi barges right through the defense till he scores.

#22 - CF - Formerio Iturralde - Age 18 - Iturributa United
From the highly successful Iturributa United comes Iturralde, a striker who at first sight looks fairly average and unspectacular. Neither tall nor short, nor particularly fast, nor known for any kind of attitude problems. When he recieves the ball, though, his feet spring into action, catching the defense off-guard with the sudden burst in pace. His shooting is also impressive, with carefully placed shots capable of beating any keeper.

Substitutes:
#13 - GK - Echepare Larrea - Age 18 - Ituraitz FC
#23 - GK - Yoritz Suastegi - Age 17 - Iturributa United
#4 - LB - Iratze Ixuel - Age 18 - Urbizania Wanderers
#3 - CB - Egoitz Ermigarat - Age 20 - Royal Arexa
#15 - CB - Ixona Unamunzaga - Age 21 - Athletic Club Rumiatzi
#14 - RB - Anton Axpuru - Age 18 - Echegoyan FC
#21 - LM - Yaizki Alaberri - Age 18 - Urbizania Wanderers
#20 - CM - Moncho Gochikoa - Age 18 - Ibarbe Polo Club
#12 - RM - Iban Bachiondo - Age 18 - Image Olympic Thessia
#19 - AM - Anixi Eturaspe - Age 18 - Echegoyan FC
#11 - CF - Hurko Atristain - Age 20 - Urbizania Wanderers
#18 - CF - Orzaize Lizaran - Age 21 - Iturributa Racing Club

Di Bradini Cup 19

The Sargossa Corsairs

Coach

Mario Quiñónez
Captain of Sargossa's first ever national team. Cut his coaching teeth at S.C. Goza and was assistant boss of the El Nacional side that lifted the TakilQuip Champion's Cup.

Talent
Style Modifier = +1 Formation 4-2-3-1.

GK: 1. Hernán Sarabia (21) – Alianza Jucaro
Good things are expected of this big and bendy keeper who made headlines at the other end of the pitch last season after scoring with two exquisitely struck freekicks in a Copa Sargossa tie against Jaguarés.

DR: 2. Èdgar Pacheco (19) – Porto Alegro Azul
A safe option at right back. A rare Sargossan fallback who actual seems to enjoy the defending part of the game. Can also play in the centre.
DRC: 5. Luís Pellerano (20) – El Nacional
Broke into the El Nacional first team last season. No charges were pressed.
DLC: 6. Bruno Trejo (21) – Deportivo Cordova
Known as 'Bruno the Beast' throughout the reserve leagues. Will inevitably be described as 'uncompromising' at some point.
DL: 3. Rubén Rochina (21) – El Nacional
Diminutive little fallback he started life as a winger.

MC: 4. Rodrigo Álvarez (21) – Ciudad Soluca
Battling midfield anchorman built in the same mould as his current Under-21 coach. No surprises that Quiñónez named him captain.
MC: 8. Vicente Iborra (19) – Dunas Del Sol
Twelve assists in eighteen first team games last season for the playmaker. There's a reason the nation's big guns are sniffing around him.

AMR: 7. Sergio Tejera (21) – Dínamo Maturín
Cousin of possibly the most underrated keeper in the world Martín Tejera. Despite his tender years Sergio has already cleared 50 SuperLiga games.
AMC: 10. Cristian Ibáñez (21) – El Nacional
Midfield playmaker who was loaned out to Nacional's city rivals S.C. Goza last season. Has a strike like the kick of a mule.
AML: 11. Andrés Rolón (19) – Ciudad Soluca
Tricksy wing wizard who is prone to being outmuscled.

FC: 9. Iván Marcano (20) – Porto Alegro Azul
Had a healthy goal scoring season on loan in the Segunda Liga last year but still a little wayward with his finishing. Has a rocket of a left foot so spectators beware.

GK: 13. Luis Fernando Montoya (19) – Deportivo Cordova
DC: 12. Gerardo Del Potro (18) – El Nacional
DL: 17. David Barral (18) – Estrella Torreón
AMR: 15. Paulo Berrera (19) – El Mercadel
MRC: 16. David Muniesa (20) – Ciudad Soluca
AML: 14. Pablo Cuesta (18) – Deportivo Cordova
FC: 18. Óscar De Marcos (18) – Sporting San Marquez
Champions: Cup of Harmony 41 / Di Bradini Cup 13 / Copa Rushmori V / Copa Rushmori XIV / Copa Rushmori XX / Copa Rushmori XXXVIII / Copa Rushmori XXXIX

Bears Armed
("The Junior Bear-Belles")

As far as BA is concerned this tournament is taking place (IC) in 2060AD, and the qualifiers for WC52 will start in 2061.

National football organisation: ‘Bears Armed Association for Soccer’ (= ‘BAAS’).
(Chairbear: Harroya ‘of the Rovers’ o Redwood [Chairbear of Merlchester Rovers S.C.; previously Captain of the Bear-Belles for some years…]]
National anthem: ‘Peace’.

All of the players are actual Ursines (i.e. anthropomorpic, bipedal Bears), except those whom I actually specify as being members of other ‘peoples’ instead. The Harr'aynau people are physically human (more-or-less, anyway, although inclined towards heavy builds & hairiness), but spiritually & culturally Ursine instead.

Manager & Chief Coach: Karra Caroline Thunder
(female Human from Clan Gunnar, daughter of ‘Arri Thunder’ [who was the Belles’ first manager], played as a Midfielder in DBC13; graduated from National University [Council Groves] with a BSc in Sports Science, and has since added an MBA to that, was hired as an Apprentice Manager shortly before ‘Oxen Cup 14’ and then promoted eight years ago; ran the team in DBC15 due to the unexpected absence of her official superiors, and was appointed national Youth Manager a year later; age = 42, hair = fair, right-footed, tends to be serious most of the time but can still rrreally party when she decides to let her hair down although she’s less likely to do that now than when she was younger…)

Deputy Manager (Admin): Urradarra o SwanWater
(female Ursine, from Clan GreenWoods; formerly Deputy Manager of the Heroes’ Park Harlequins, and more recently a staff member at BAMAS [as it then was], originally appointed to this job for ‘Oxen Cup 14’; age = 51, fur = medium-brown & quite long [but fashionably so…], left-pawed).

Doctor: Mitzi von und zu Steiffen
(female Ursine, from Clan Kettar-Surra; age = officially 59 but ‘rejuvenated’ sixteen years ago, left-pawed, fur = light brown.)

Physio: Gerrthra o Barrdenn

(female Ursine, from Clan GreenWoods; age = officially 58 but ‘rejuvenated’ sixteen years ago, left-pawed, fur = dark brown.)

Routemaster: Lieutenant-Colonel Harron o Harrha
(male Ursine, from Clan BerryGlades and the Confederal Army’s General Staff Corps; age = officially 56 but ‘rejuvenated’ sixteeen years ago, left-pawed, fur = dark-medium brown & cut quite short: his job involves handling all of the squad’s travelling arrangements.)

Security Chief: Urrthra MoonShadow
(female Ursine, Silver-of-Night Clan; she is a ‘shabear’...); doubles as the team’s ‘One Plus Seven’ chaplain.

Caterers:

“Mascot #1”: ‘The Wise Grorrfinn’
(male ‘TrueBear’; age = undisclosed [but considering some of his appearances in old stories apparently somewhere over 1’500, at least...], ambidextrous, fur = medium-brown); recently revealed to be his Reality’s counterpart of the [‘Tolkienian’] elf Glorfindel…

“Mascot #2”: Sarra Elizabeth Thunder
(female Human, from Clan Gunnar; age = 11, right-footed, hair = blonde, cute and lively… She is the daughter of the team’s manager, Karra Thunder, but her father’s identity is not yet public knowledge.) She will usually, at her own insistence, be wearing a child-sized version of the team’s kit…

Roster

Usual Starters

(#1) Arren Herthnhry _ Clan EastDale; home team = NorthPort Navigators, category & usual position = Goalkeeper, experience = 6 years; age = 20 years, right-pawed, fur = medium-brown shading to “red” on shoulders & back of neck. (She made her international debut in DBC18, as an [un-named] reserve.)

(#2) Irrie o Herrin _ Clan = Urrset (Northern); Home team = NorthGate Nomads, category = Defender, usual position = Left Back, experience = 7 years; age = 20 years, left-pawed, fur = russet. (She made her international debut in DBC18, as a substitute.)

(#3) Gretta Sarrghrren _ Clan = Thuleann; home team = AmmFahr Adventuresses, category = Defender or Midfielder, usual position = Right Back, experience = 7 years; age = 19, left-pawed, fur = very light brown. (She made her international debut in DBC18, as an [un-named] reserve.)

(#4) Hirrdhra o TrueHeart _ Clan = BerryGlades; Home team = Merlchester Rovers, category = Midfielder or Defender, usual position = Lynchpin, experience = 10 years; age = 20 years, left-pawed, fur = medium-brown with [natural] ‘strawberry’ highlights; seems to have a knack for anticipating opponents’ actions; also qualified as a Dream Interpreter. (She made her international debut in DBC18, as a starting Midfielder & the Captain, but some of you may also remember her as a spectator from WC54...) => CAPTAIN

(#5) Herra Harrhlach _ Clan = March, Harr’aynau humanoid; Home team = Mighty Marchers, category = Midfielder, usual position = Left Half, experience = 6 years; age = 20 years, left-footed, hair = russet; good enough that she’s already a professional player — albeit not in one of the country’s very best teams — at her current age. (She made her international debut in DBC18, as a reserve.)

(#6) Karramarrsar Tharrarra _ Clan = Ostbora; Home team = OstPort Dynamo, category = Midfielder, usual position = Right Half, experience = 7 years; age = 20 years, right-pawed, fur = light brown; first cousin of # 12, with whom she works well. (She made her international debut in DBC18, as a starter.)

(#7) Marranna o TrustyHand _ Clan = Sun; Home team = Sun Valley Smashers category = Forward, usual position = Left Forward (‘Inside Left’), experience = 8 years; age = 20 years, left -pawed, fur = dark blonde; heavier in build than is usual for her clan. (She made her international debut in DBC18, as a substitute.)

(#10) Imbrhra/Umbrhra _ Clan = Chargh’ghrarr; Home team = Heroes’ Park Harlequins [recently transferred from Wildfair Warriors], category = Forward, usual position = Centre Forward, experience = 8 years; age = 18 years, left-pawed/right-pawed, fur = dark-medium brown & rather long; already over 7’ tall (despite her youth) and broad in proportion, but certainly not slow or clumsy; actually a pair of identical twins who count as a single person for legal purposes and who often act as though they share a single mind, the two halves of this player will normally stay close together on the pitch and might keep passing the ball back-&-forth. (She made her international debut in DBC18, as a substitute.)

(#11) Urrthra o GoodSword _ Clan = Sun; Home team = Sun Valley Smashers, category = Forward or Winger or Midfielder, usual position = Right Forward (‘Inside Right’), experience = 6 years; age = 18 years, right-pawed, fur = blonde; very good eyesight and reflexes, a verrry good player, favoured for taking ‘set pieces’. (She made her international debut in DBC18, as a substitute.)

(#12) Marra o Barrdenn-Barrden _ Clan = GreenWoods; Home team = Barrdenn Barbariennes, category = Winger or Midfielder, usual position = Left Winger (‘Outside Left’), experience = 5 years; age = 19, left-pawed, fur = medium-brown.
(This is her international debut, as the only absolute newcomer amongst the team’s usual starting line-up...)

(#13) Karramarrsar Thyrrinthra _ Clan = Ostbora; Home team = OstPort Dynamo, category = Winger, usual position = Right Winger (‘Outside Right’), experience = 7 years; age = 20 years, right-pawed, fur = light brown; first cousin of # 5, with whom she works well. Their usual formation will include a front row of at least 5 (normally arranged as 3 strikers & 2 wingers), with 2 midfielders, 2 backs, and either a ‘Defensive Centre’ (whose starting position would be at the midpoint of an imaginary cross drawn between those other four non-forwards’ positions) or a third midfielder depending on the Manager’s decision before each match.

Choose my goalscorers: Y (but the Forwards, and then the Wingers, are probably likeliest to fill this role...)
Godmod Scoring Events: Y (For example, remember the geese who’ve been invading my main team’s games? I wouldn’t be at all surprised if some of those were to turn up here as well…)
RP injuries to my players / Godmod injuries to my players / Hand out Yellow cards to my players / Hand out Red cards to my players: Y to all, at least to start with, but remember what I've written here and keep it in limits accordingly... Any serious offences by my players would probably result in injuries to your players, and causing any serious injuries to my players would probably require such obviously-deliberate attacks that your players would get yellow or even red cards as a result too. Don’t kill anybody, or inflict injuries that would be serious enough to end careers, without checking with me & getting my approval (which is unlikely to be granted…) first.

Godmod Other Events: Y, I suppose, at least as long as you do so in an AMUSING way... but please remember that Ursines are fully sapient beings, as much as Humans are, not instinct-driven animals. Oh, and of course female Ursines are not sexually interested in Humans (of either sex), and it's very unlikely that female Harr'ayanau would be either. Please don't have them run amok or outright revert to animality, without checking by TG first, don't make assumptions about their views on politics or religion, and don't do anything that would make more than one of them incapable of playing in their next game...

Kit: This incarnation of the country’s U21 team wears the same [latest] set of designs that ‘ediraf’ produced for the “main” team _ See "here" for details.
Bears Armed has traditionally used base-8 arithmetic, for several reasons, and this has affected the set of numbers used for this team’s players: Also, the number “22” has deliberately been left unassigned out of respect for its first [& only] wearer who died a heroine’s death during the year immediately following WC444…

NOTES

Ursines may tend to be a bit less agile & slower to accelerate than humans on average, but this team's members were carefully selected so the gap between them & their opponents in this respect should be narrower than some people might expect. They do tend to have slightly poorer eyesight than humans, on the whole (although the members of both Clan Gunnar and the Sun Clan are generally an exception to this rule, and the eyesight of the latter group is actually often at better-than-human levels instead), so long-distance passes & shots at goal will tend to be rarer behaviour for them than they are for human teams... but their typical size & strength mean that when they're running with the ball it will probably take a very brave human -- as well as a very skilled one -- to tackle them successfully, which should balance that factor pretty well. They don’t jump very well, but then they’re generally rather taller than most Human players [of comparable age] to start with.
They're physically robust, of course, which means that they're much less likely than humans to suffer injuries in falls or collisions. The females of this species are more even-tempered than the males, and the team's members will try to stay on their best behaviour not only in order to do well in this contest but also to impress upon the watching humans that Ursines aren't just "dumb beasts". They will not 'dive', or feign injury in other ways, because suggesting that they could be harmed so easily goes strongly against the grain.
Cold weather should pose no problem to them, even if there's snow or ice on the pitch, but tropical heat might prove awkward...

Unless our hosts at the match in question object, this team's members (including the designated substitutes for the match in question) will perform a [fairly short] ritual that's called the 'harrdiharr'[/url] on the pitch just before play begins... This is a traditional war-dance, meant to over-awe opponents, that has come to be a customary prelude for team games as well (similar to the [RL] New Zealanders' 'haka'...). : )
And, as has now been seen during various tournaments, some of our fans like to take drums — and possibly cow-horns, or other "musical instruments", too — along to the matches...

WOMEN REACH WORLD CUP SEMI-FINAL
The Green Girls have been playing some fine football winning their group. Now they can add the famous name of The Babbage Islands to the teams they have beaten at this World Cup. A sole goal from Yasmin Pearce sealed the win in a scruffy game.

Pearce's goal came in the second half with a trademark free-kick from the 19 year old who is one of the stars of this World Cup. Both sides had chances to score more goals but the two defenses and 'keepers were up to the challange.

Kernansquillec's semi-final opponants will be fellow group A qualifiees Erathore. The Green and Whites drew with them 2-2 in their first meeting, but beat them 3-1 in the second game. Can the only team who managed to not lose to Kernansquillec find the quality to beat the Kers? Following an impresive 3-1 victory over Bergnovinaia they may well do so.

But for the moment Kernansquillec can enjoy seeing their team play in the Women's World Cup semi-final.

DI BRADINI SQUAD ANNONCED
For the first time ever the Kernansquillecan team for the Di Bradini Cup or U21 World Cup will be composed of a mixed team of young men and women. The move comes after a long debate inside KERFA concering the fact that no U21 World Cup exsists for women so the cup will now be competed by the young stars of both sexes. This will allow all players with the talent to get expiriance with the best players in the world and will give the coack a new pool of players to choose from.

The Squad
Starters are n.1 to n.11 ~ The two Iqbal's are brother and sister. You can do anything within reason of a normal football match. ~ Players in green have senior team.

U21's Set to Return to the International Scene

It's been a while since the last time the Lil' Purple Knights of Taeshan were involved in the Di Bradini Cup, in fact it has been over 5 years. The team was not involved in the tournament as would be expected over the period of time in which the country seemed to drop straight from the earth during politically trying times. Di Bradini Cup 18 happened to be only the second time that the team missed a tournament while the country was actually in the international soccer scene, and the 19th tournament almost became the third, but thanks to some hard working clerks in the SFA they were able to join an expanded Di Bradini tournament.

For the first time the Di bradini Cup will be a tournament of 40 teams instead of the historic 32 team format. The ammount of groups will be the same (8) the ammount of second round qualifiers will be the same (16), but the ammoutn of teams in the group will be upped to 5. This is due to a record fast signups fulfillment which led to the allowance of 8 more spots from the SFA. The TFA which during the 2nd and 18th Di Bradini Cups was having its company wide spring break jumped upon this oppurtunity to return to the most famous of international U21 tournaments. After all your national team is only as strong as its future.

This though means that the Purple Knights will have to suffer what is known as an opening day buy. Being the fifth team in their group they get the short end of the stick starting off on bye. Most of the team would rather get off to a start and have a late by to get ready for a possible playoff run, but what can you do. You can only play the cards you are dealt. And the Knights have been dealt some ugly cards. Thier group consists of international giants Krytenia, Cafundeu, Dorian and Sonya, and the smaller nation of Kernansquellic. But they will try their best and in 5 weeks time they could have a really good chance of being in the Round of Sixteen. In fact i even beleive that they could win this group. After all most U21 teams are even in strength, and with the heart of a champion you can do anything.

But one big problem looms. The team is a bunch of 15 year olds and younger. What can they do against a rabid group of players who ahve been on the international scene for a very logn time in most cases. Not a single member of the team plays for a Taeshani team let alone an international side. Most of them are juniors in High School still, and according to Taeshani law you can not sign a contract until the age of 16 so many are still waiting for a chance to play for anything. Things though may not be as bad as they seem. The team is currently doing well in the olympics, and led by Co-Captains Peter Fasnacht and Marshall Murgatroyd the team is vastly united. They can do anything, and i am pretty sure that they might very well show the world that the future of Taeshan is bright, and that we are back to stay. To stay a giant in football as in the years to come.

Kagdazka and Pazhujebu's DBC 19 U-21 Squad Released

Qichechumadia Zhabi - Who will be the stars of the future for your Urchins? Will it be this generation or the next that some day sees wisteria and purple ribbons hanging on the World Cup trophy? Who knows? But we can't get too ahead of ourselves; these players have to grow up first, and need to get some important-match exposure before their careers can move ahead. Thus, the Di Bradini Cup.

Long ago, in the nearly-lost depths of history, The Pazhujeb Islands participated in a Di Bradini Cup. It was, in fact, the first international tournament they ever participated in. Jaime Oberlander, the Starblaydi legend, had been the manager of the squad at the time, and would eventually lead them to a Baptism of Fire championship. Obviously a Baptism of Fire trophy won't be in the cards for these players this time around, though.

The most notable faces in this squad are in the attack, no question about it. With an up-front pairing between Angels' Hridayaja Durai and Gimnasia's Lyonya Filipov (the latter being the team's captain), goals ought to be scored by the Urchins without too much trouble. Durai and Filipov are established players in the First Division already, don't forget. But there are question marks around the defense, despite nine whopping participants at that position, and the midfield looks downright flimsy, with only the crafty Nekromanti winger Pavel Vengerov looking in good enough form to be a starter.

Speaking of which, a fun trivia note is that each of the three clubs being promoted to the KPFA League First Division this season (Nekromanti, Raktaghav Hathi, and Šah) will have a representative in the starting lineup of this team. Does that bode well for at least one of them, or maybe even all of them, to stay up?

Zinoviy Tversky - 19 Years Old - Club: Vulkan

Manager:
Ghavbhu Vhi - 44 Years Old
Along with Oghu’ghabuzheh Palšikar (now manager at Šede Island Shadows), Ghavbhu Vhi was an assistant manager to Brutušam Erassi (now manager of the adult Federation national team) while they were all at Urnabhi. Their coaching successes are still renowned throughout the land, as an insignificant little outfit (promoted to the top flight on a complete fluke) flourished in the First Division and remains there still, even after their coaches' departures. Vhi is a disciple of Erassi's overall philosophy, highly attacking but with focus on long balls and physical power. This philosophy introduces a requirement for a strong number nine forward, but luckily, two-time First Division Golden Boot winner Lyonya Filipov is a perfect fit for such a role. Filipov's consequently crucial tactical role in this squad (along with his relatively mature age and close personal relationship with Vhi) has thrust the Gimnasia striker into the captaincy.

Kits:
Image

There are three main kits used by the Kagdazka and Pazhujebu U-21s: two homes and one away. The wisteria and green colors are used when the team plays in Kagdazka, whereas the purple and black is used when they visit Pazhujebu. The white and wisteria is used for away matches. For neutral venue tournaments, like the DBC, the team will rotate between the three kits.

Style Modifier:
+2

Formation:
Ghavbhu Vhi's team plays in an unusual 5-2-3, with a flat back line, two mobile midfielders, two dynamic winged strikers, and one massive target man. Advantages to this formation are that the five-man back makes up for the side's weak defenders and untested goalkeeper, and that Sajid and Durai will have the liberty to wander in order to find space. Disadvantages to this formation are that the link between defense and attack may be very tenuous with only two midfielders (only one proven), and that the formation's lack of a defensive mid may result in opposing sides dominating possession. For the system to work, Winogradsky may need to retreat from left midfield into more of a holding role, so as to be the catalyst for counterattacks. Should it be necessary, Sajid and Durai may be required to drop back into midfield as well if Filipov is having trouble getting the ball. But such retreats will make this formation look more like a 5-4-1. :(

Information for the Foreign Mahathu Herald Reader

First of all, thanks for buying our paper! We're a rather small outfit as there are a couple of big Pazhujebi-language papers in Mahathu we have to compete with, so we appreciate the business. Secondly, you have probably gathered that Kagdazka and Pazhujebu have two very distinct identities, and you're right. Here's a quick run-down.

Kagdazka is a very cold Siberian territory inhabited by largely ethnic Russians. Wisteria is their national color. They have fair skin, blue eyes, and blonde or brown hair. They speak Russian and often travel via dogsled and brave the snow as part of their daily lives.

Pazhujebis are the descendants of North Indian expellees of Rome. They settled the Pazhujeb Islands (now known as Pazhujebu) about two millenia ago. They have light to medium brown skin, dark hair, and brown eyes. All Pazhujebis, men and women, wear purple turbans at almost all times.

Despite both having regional languages (Russian and Pazhujebi respectively), Kagdaz and Pazhujebi people alike often speak good English. As part of a program established by the now deposed feminist dictatorship, citizens were required to learn English so as to create single de facto official language for the country.

Never refer to a citizen of the Federation as a "Federationer," it is considered very offensive. If you aren't sure whether someone is Kagdaz or Pazhujebi, just pick one arbitrarily.

There is a metric ton of other information about the Federation available on the country's NSwiki page, including more on the full adult national team and on the country's domestic league. Please feel free to give it a read.

My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:
