I figured it would be neat to do a archive of all the places-you-do/don't-need-to-see-before-you-die in NationStates for those plucky tourists. I also thought, hey why not, lets do it in true-NationStates-style!
Tourism has a lot of different subcategories, therefore I'll be organizing this guide using the following categories. Please pick a category you believe that your tourist site/activity would fit into...
Leisure
Recreational travel with the goal of relaxation in mind.
Geographical
The pursuit of a natural attraction, geographical feature or a particular climate – such as alpine or skiing conditions.
Sporting
Recreational travel for the purpose of participating or observing a sport or recreational activity.
Culinary
The pursuit of unique and memorable eating and drinking experiences.
Educational
The teaching and learning of knowledge and the enhancing of technical competency outside of the classroom environment.
Dark
Recreational travel to “dark" or medieval sites, such as battlegrounds, scenes of horrific crimes, natural disasters or acts of genocide.
Ecological
Recreational travel to fragile, pristine, and usually protected areas that strives to be low impact and (often) small scale.
Heritage
Recreation travel oriented towards the cultural heritage of the location where tourism is occurring.
Medical
The practice of traveling across international borders to obtain health care or other medical benefits.
Nautical
A combination of sailing and boating with vacation and holiday activities.
Crime
Recreational travel to engage in activities that would have otherwise been illegal in their home country such as prostitution, recreational drug use or gambling.
Space
The act of orbital or sub-orbital voyeurism or recreation with Space Shuttles, Stations and Hotels.
Danger
Recreational travel to active war zones or other dangerous environments for purposes of sightseeing and superficial voyeurism.
Other
Because this list is going to be very NationStates-esque, we're going to need something we can rate our industries on - and with all tourism comes the service industry to please those camera carrying, jet-lagged, sunburnt foreigners.
The Service Industry that surrounds the tourist location/event shall be rated on three important aspects...
• Transportation (airlines, cruise ships, monorails and taxis…)
• Hospitality (accommodations, including hotels and resorts…)
• Entertainment (amusement parks, casinos, shopping malls, theatre…)
These aspects shall be given ratings like in NationStates, such as ...
• Unheard Of
• Rare
• Some
• Below Average
• Average
• Good
• Excellent
• World Benchmark
• Excessive
Follow !? Ha.
So we're going to put together that info into a neat NationStates-like table.
Just copy/paste this code into your post... and fill in the tags with your own info.
- Code: Select all
[table][tr][td][align=center][b]Category:[/b] @@CATEGORY@@[/align][/td][/tr][/table][table][tr][td][b][align=center]Transportation:[/align][/b] [align=center]@@TRANSPORTATION@@ [/align][/td][td][b][align=center]Hospitality:[/align][/b] [align=center]@@HOSPITALITY@@[/align][/td][td][b][align=center]Entertainment:[/align][/b] [align=center]@@ENTERTAINMENT@@ [/align][/td][/tr][/table]
Replace only these tags with your own submissions – anything else will mess up the BB code.
