War breaks out in Polomosia against Zutendaal

Tonight, the Department of Defense and Armament along with the Attorney Generals office have announced that war will be declared against Zutendaal. Lt. Col. Fred George, secretary of the DOD&A said that "When you arm your men against us, we will fight back without looking back!" Also, Zutendaal was met with tremendous force as a hidden ally to the mission, The Armed Republic of Tredost has killed 124 Zutendaal forces and also put down 134 Martial Law protesters who refused to follow law with force. "These rallies were not peaceful at all," said Secretary of State General Joseph Likken, "guns were fired upon our men, and we had to retaliate. It does hurt when you have to put your own people down. But when you violently rebel against your country, you commit treason." Zutendaal was once a trusted ally in the Sex Offender war, which is still raging at this time. Forest Kildren, the leader of the attempted sex offender coup, is wanted by PBI and PSPB for treason and human trafficking charges. At a press conference Saturday, President General Jason Smith along with Tredost's Leader, announced their allyship against Zutendaal and encourages many other countries to join the fight. "We will not allow these illegal soldiers to fight us and if they do, they have a whole lot waiting for them." President General Smith said. The President General's office has also issued a proposal for Zutendaal: Surrender and dissolve from our country or be met with tremendous force.

c) Any nation that dares mess with the sovereignty of Polomosia and Tredost will automatically face police action on the part of Symphonia

We demand that Cheztope withdraw its forces and stand down. Failure to follow this demand will result in Symphonian intervention in this conflict.

"Interesting," Kazyenko said, sprawled out on a couch in front of a TV. The room was dark, unnatural blue light illuminating the Premier's face. His eyes were distinctly red and blood shot. No doubt he had enjoyed his drinks again a little to much. From somewhere in the abyss came a shuffling, beckoning a quick glance from Vladimir.
"Sir, how shall we act?"
The voice made notice of the television, which displayed a facsimile of an intercepted Cheztopian transmission.
Kazyenko sighed defeatedly and facepalmed. He rubbed his brow.
"I'm getting really sick 'n' tired of people assertin' themselves where they have no business bein'."
The other voice said nothing. Instead, the sound of frantic scribbling could be heard as he recorded the Premier's choice.
"Grab the press... God... why does ruling a superpower have to be so monotonous...."

What I do have a problem with, quite frankly, is the fact you think you're entitled to go into Zutendaal and mess around with it until it becomes a spitting image of your own homeland... We will not listen to this because Zutendaal had declared it amongst themselves. We will not be made the enemy for protecting Polomosia. We do have support and no one will butt in on this operation!

PRESIDENT'S OFFICE, REVNAMI

"Uh, what just happened?" asked Frankie, the defence minister.
"Essentially," replied Hayes, "we got told to fuck off."
"Orders, sir?" asked Air Chief Marshal Scotts.
"Warning strikes. I don't care how, just minimise death."

Scotts paused.

"An aerial assault could work. We can send long-range aircraft, that being the Spartans to take out a power plant or airport supported by Vipers to handle aircraft. It'll be over in less than two minutes."
"You have clearance, make sure it works."
"Yes sir."

The uniformed members stood and put on their hats- berets for the Army, slouch hats for the air force and baseball caps for the Navy- and saluted. They left and began the operation.

SOUTH HALA AIR FORCE BASE, PILTOMANA- OPERATION GUNRUN

The aircraft line up. Zinc flight was comprised of two Spartans and six Vipers split into two teams. Their target was easy to spot burning- a port off the Polomosian coast. The Spartans and Vipers could take the long journey and get back again. As they took off, the ten airmen wondered what this would mean. A Black Operation, it would be swift and violent. The bombs would set off the fuel dumps, which in turn would explode. They would damage storehouses and chemicals, making the area dangerous for firemen. For added effect, the cluster munitions being employed by the Spartans were fused- half would go off on impact, the others were fused to go off a little bit later.

The aircraft formed to four-ship formations, each spaced about three kilometres apart. Flying at such a high altitude, they would be out of range of almost all conventional SAMs, as well as an awful lot of interceptor aircraft. When the time called, a short and steep dive would bring the pilots into negative G flight as they prepared to bomb it. But for now, they were just entering Polomosia's EEZ.

"Mr. President-General Smith," announced the Secretary of State, Gen. Joseph Likken, "New Hayesalia are approaching Polomosian shores. The Secretary of Defense and Armament says we should attack once they approach our country on illegal grounds. What should we do?"
"Here is what we do," President-General Smith declared, "just follow my lead."
With that, Smith got up from his chair, ordered the press secretary to call all media outlets and have them meet at the Palace in 30 minutes...

POLOMOSIA NETWORK NEWS ALERT: STATEMENT FROM THE PRESIDENT GENERAL ON NEW HAYESALIA AND THEIR MISSION

"Good evening, Polomosia and its people," The President-General begins. "Tonight we have received word that due to the violence that struck Polomosia over a month ago has escalated to a new degree. From human sex trafficking, we were dealing with an attempted coup de'tat. Then we heard that our former ally Zutendaal agreed with the Sex Offender regiment that has threatened our country to full extents, to support them and house PBI Most Wanted fugitive and sex offender Forest Lilken as a refugee. We were also attacked by Zutendaal's forces on our borders, causing an illegal act of war against Polomosia. Buildings were destroyed and the country was torn apart. Now tonight, we recieved information from The Department of State and the Department of Intelligence headed by Sgt. At Arms Willie Dunlap that the Nation of New Hayesalia is planning to assault our nation. We do not want to attack any nation...we do not want to declare war with no one else except for those who assault our nation. But we do welcome New Hayesalia to come to the capital and discuss matters with our cabinet. If you accept, then we can begin negotiations. If not, then do not butt in our own relations, for I am sure you have other issues to deal with. And as for our Martial Law status, we will NOT lift the status until the capture or killing of Forest Lilken is made. Thank you Polomosia, and good night."

"How did I do?" Smith asked, turning his attention to SecIntel Sgt. At Arms Dunlap.
"Splendid," Sgt. Dunlap said, nodding in approval, "You hade them female reporters cream their slacks."
"Haha, when haven't I been able to do that? I am a god with words." Smith said in a slick tone as they were heading to the Eastern Palace Complex, the residency of the President-General.

PRESIDENT'S OFFICE, REVNAMI

"Scotts, how did this get out?" asked Hayes angrily, turning off the flatscreen TV.
"Any number of reasons sir. Roundel markings, unique aircraft shape. A leak in the system." replied ACM Scotts
"How? Less than a dozen people knew about this!"
"I don't know sir. However, we have a level of plausible deniability."

Suddenly, the teak door burst open. The Foreign Minister, Kevin Smith, stormed in with a look of pure rage on his face. He yelled, incomprehensibly, about a telegram. Hayes responded by telling him, calmly, to shut up and sit down. He then poured him a strong rum and coke, and passed it over to him. Smith accepted it, and drank deeply from the cup. Hayes read the telegram, inviting him to diplomatic talks. This was an issue. If he accepted the offer, he couldn't call deniabiliy. If he denied responsibility for Operation Gunrun, he couldn't take the trip easily.

Hayes brought Bongo into the room, his diminuitive monkey frame coming in rather fast. He explained the situation. Bongo's answer? Simple.

CONFERENCE ROOM NUMBER 2

They gathered the press into the conference room downstairs. Adorned with two New Hayesalian flags and the coat of arms emblazoned in full colour on the cobalt wall, it gave an expected air of patriotism. As Hayes approached the podium, he spoke slowly, clearly and deliberately.

"The Unified Island Republic of New Hayesalia," he began "advise Polomosia that the recent bombing of a port is not the responsbility of the Unified Island Republic. The attacks were indeed, not within the knowledge of the New Hayesalian Government. "Oh really?" Dunlap said, backing up into his office, turning around and heads to his chair as he pops a cigar in his mouth. "What is the intelligence finding?"
"Well, a document was released after we ran the barcodes on the missles that were used in the bombing. New Hayesalia claims the weapons were stolen, but in fact these same munitions were found to be scanned by the Hayesalian government moments before the government launched their warheads. We need to do something to fight back. New Hayesalia is trying to start a war. It is a war that is uneccessary and they are trying to break the government."
"Well, I think we should give them what they asked for. They didn't care for Zutendaal in the first place. They just want to start a fight." Sgt. Dunlap thanked IO Klaussen and dismissed him. Then he got his military coat on, grabbed the documents, and went straight for the chopper to take him to Polopolis...

POLOPOLIS, 6 HOURS LATER

"Well, it looks like they want more with us than we thought." President-General Smith said. "Well with a monkey for a vice president and a washed up actor for a president, I see why they want to fight us. They want our resources."
Dunlap offered the president-general a fresh Hatian Cigar then sat down. "Sir, we do have rich soil. I believe Zutendaal is no longer a threat to us. Our new threat is the Hayesalian regime. They refused peace talks and they bombed Port George. I know it is something serious. I think it is time to drop Zutendaal and the Sex Offenders, lift the Martial Law status and-"
"WAIT!" Smith exclaimed, "Do you hear yourself? If we lift Martial Law status, then we are asking for more retaliation on our government and people. I agree, we should drop Zutendaal and the SO's for now." Then Smith turned his attention to an ancient greek statue standing in the office. "I have someone I want you to meet, Sgt. Dunlap. COME FORWARD SIR!"
Then the office doors opened, and standing before the President General was one of Polomosia's once respected leader, former Prime Minister Hal Brooks. Brooks looked as if he was remembering the fine days of early royal Polomosia. "Minister Brooks, meet Sgt. At Arms Willie Dunlap, Intelligence Secretary."
The meen greeted and shook hands. "So what kind of business do you need, President General?"
"We need you to help. Deputy President General Manfred Jackson no longer is in the cabinet, and with your great leadership and respect from Polomosians, it is time to bring you back."
"Accepted," Brooks said. "Now about New Hayesalia, lets send peace keeping troops to see how that works. If they are attacked, lets use force."
"Good deal..." Smith replied
"Done..." Dunlap said.
