Series B Champions’ Cup sponsorship
Bidding is now open for the title sponsorship of Series B Champions’ Cups 29–36. Bidding will close at the start of Series B Champions’ Cup 28. The following is required to submit a bid:

The name of the bidding company or product, as it will appear in the tournament name—preferably a single word or acronym.
The company or product’s wordmark, as it will appear in the tournament logo. This wordmark must be black on a transparent (or white) background, and in SVG or PNG format if possible. If the wordmark should merely be the name set in a particular typeface, please specify the face. If the wordmark has already been submitted for a previous Series B Champions’ Cup or Super Cup bid, it need not be produced again unless it has changed.

Renewal of the current contract with Chronowire will automatically be considered. Companies from Cafundéu, Estresse Intenso, Paripana, Pasarga, and Valanora are ineligible to bid.

The 2002 FA cycle saw some changes to the National Premiers - for the next three seasons the teams will compete in an Open/Close session that will slightly mirror the original seasons. Teams play 22 games during the Open Session and then are bracketed based on finish for the Close Session. The Close Session will be 16 games, 11 against all teams and 5 against the teams slated to play a double against. This puts the total games played at 38, in line with the rest of the leagues.

The league is also studying a proposal to shrink the Federated 1 and 2 leagues to 20 teams and promote 12 Home Counties Championship clubs to a Federation 3 level. If accepted, the proposal will take effect in 2004.

Finally the Womens Premiers began this season with 12 teams in two division. A third division of 16 sides is expected to be approved for the 2004 season.

The Astograthian Football League: Season V

The fifth season of Astograthian football has ended, with some very surprising results. As a reminder, the Football League is being restructured over several years so that the number of top tier teams eventually reaches sixteen. Hence, this season four teams have been promoted to First Division.

First Division (Taldo Lehan)

Like Ituraitz FC two years before, Iturributa United conquered their first league title in style. A massive goal difference reflected the team's attacking nature. Munio Baranzano, Estebe Bularte and the Polarian Petter Bielsen have been lauded by the media as crucial in this landmark triumph.

Following behind were the rest of the 'Big 4', with previous champions Royal Rumiatzi finishing five points off United and Sporting, recovering from their terrible past season, one point off Rumiatzi. Ituraitz FC were comparatively lackluster this time around, ending up with 33 points - only beating Urbizania Wanderers to Globe Cup qualification by a single point. Lower down the table, Ituraitz Victory came away with an impressive sixth place and may well push for international football soon, while South Factory remained in the mid-table and the promoted Athletic Club Rumiatzi saved itself from relegation. Astograth University and Royal Association were relieved to avoid the drop, which is not something that could be said of Echegoyan FC and Freedom FC, both very disappointing and very much relegated.

Coupe de Côte de Platine
The Coupe de Côte de Platine (Platinum Coast Open Cup in English) is the national championship of Côte de Platine, a small, newly-independent country in Rushmore to the west of Mytannion. It features a maximum of seven teams every year, with the defending champions automatically given a bye to the semi-finals of the tournament, unless this is not workable with the number of teams. There are only two semi-professional teams in the country, each based in the country's two towns; the remaining five teams change year-to-year depending on which amateur sides can stump up the money to enter. The winner earns a place in the Rushmore Cup of Champions.

For the inaugural championship, only one amateur team, the King's Chariots, were able or willing to pay the 45 Platinum bar (26,400 NSD) entry fee.

Prize money is as follows:
10 Plb. per win (after 90 mins/extra time); 5 Plb. per draw (after extra time); 2 Plb. per loss (after extra time)

A big upset in Baltiysk as the table seems to be upside down. The Rutyenir Diamonds join their rivals PSV Heart Kokuy and 1810 Cheremvoko in the bottom half of the table while teams speculated to do much worse float to the top. CCSK Arof Young Boys' hopes have been fired by their 3-0 victory over 3rd place CSKA Smolensk as they battle to escape relegation.

CKSZ Chulyabriv Turk have pulled ahead of favourites CFR Zolchora City, snatching a 1-0 victory on matchday 16 against their biggest rivals. Zolchora then further jeopardised their position on matchday 19 as 3rd place Adyevey Borough's star player Nizhy Nechetskiy flicked a late game winner into the home team's goal. The bottom table remains highly contested with only 3 points difference between 10th and 14th.

League Cycle Preview

Yes folks, as we move into the third cycle of the new league system, it is a season of great upheaval in the FPI leagues. Sponsorship has been introduced into the league for the first time allowing stadium expansions almost across the board, as well as a re-branding of the individual divisions, how the divisions promote and relegate into each other, and the introduction of two more teams. As well as this, the league has opened its doors to international transfers for the first time, leading to a raft of players making exciting moves.

The top three divisions in the Federation League have been re-branded and re-named.

The premier division of football in the country, Forste Divisjon Gull, has been re-named simply as Divisjon One, and will be sponsored by airline giants, Polair. The majority of large transfers were all made in this division, as the enigmatic Timo Skye made a headline grabbing move to Erathore club, Juvillian Martinax. To plug this hole, Sk Franz Josef City brought in Patrick Ackermann-Finn from FC Axel Heiburg, and splashed out on Astograthian international Dei Ormache. Workhorse midfielder Petter Bielsen moves from Red Star Severny to Astograth giants Iturributa United, and we wish him all the luck. Also moving abroad were SK midfielder Henning Tir, who moves to Takillega club Decraa United, and Sergey Makarov, who made the move from Resolute Storm to Mangolana club Skyline City. FC Axel Heiburg replaced Ackermann-Finn by acquiring young striker Yannis Pettersen from Bjarnarey, and East Franz Athletic brought in young goalkeeper Demy de Zooijt from Mytanar to cover their goalkeeping woes of last season.

Jan Mayen have brought in Marcel Sanderskye and Mytanar Filip Bosc to complement Alexsandr van Sorensen as they attempt to clinch the title for the first time, and RSK Longyearbyen Town bought Mytanar Vyacheslav Merkens and Denis Kodiak as they try to consolidate their impressive position of last season. Meanwhile, Erathore duo Ryan Ginn and Fiorello Lupes joined Red Star and the Storm respectively.

FC Cape St Paul have splashed the cash as they fight to keep their place in the top division, and may even have half an eye on a push for UICA competitions, with Erruki Echardi brought in from Astograth, and Velice Shmulikoski from Mytannion. This, pundits agree, should give them plenty bite to stay in the division, but as ever, only time will tell.

Sixteen teams will play in this division, with the usual international competition awarded at the end, and with a relegation zone of three at the bottom. As you might expect, the favourites for the title are SK Franz Josef City, Jan Mayen Islanders, and Red Star Severny.

Andre Divisjon Solv has been re-named simply as Divisjon Two, and will be sponsored by telecommunications firm Henningvale. The only large transfer made here, was the move of Erik Mallstrom to Bjarnarey. The top three of the sixteen will qualify for Divisjon One, the top four will go to the TQCC, and three will be relegated. The favourites for the title will be Koppen Rig Force, Novaya Sibir Reds, and FC1. Bjarnarey Flotilla.

Tredje Divisjon Bronse is now simply Divisjon Three and it sponsored by engineering company Rausen. The top three of the sixteen will move to Divisjon Two, and the bottom two will be relegated to the appropriate the Challenge League division. The third to bottom team will enter the Promotion Playoff. Favourites for the title will be Scapa Bay Rovers, FK Grise Fiord, and FC Fetlar.

All the competitions below Divisjon Three come under the new umbrella of the Challenge League, all sponsored by Investment Bank Staelbaek&Hansen. The league will be split geographically by state into East Divisjon and West Divisjon, each of sixteen teams. We regret to announce that CAF Cape Havensk FC and SKFJC Supporters Club FC have had to leave the league, as the standard in the Challenge League simply surpasses amateur football. In their place we have accepted Islay Town Mechanical and SK Sporting Juura from Terra Scotia. The division winners from East and West will gain automatic promotion to Divisjon Three, and the second and third teams from East and West will go forth to the Promotion Playoff to meet the third to last team from Divisjon Three. The Promotion Playoff, and the Challenge Trophy (which replaces the Amator Cup), will then work in exactly the same way.

Favourites for the East Divisjon will be SK Sporting Juura, Islay Town Mechanical, and Bathurst Zenith FC.

Favourites for the West Divisjon will be Rapid SK Eysturoy, Savoonga Moor SK, and SK 1982 Matua.

And then of course we'll have the Latitude Cup, to be sponsored by Civil Citizenry company ChocoMilk, whose format is relatively unchanged. Teams from the East and West Divisjons will face each other in a preliminary round, to be followed by the Federation League teams joining in the First Round proper, from where it will be straight knockout.

Platinum League preview - In this preview we take a look at all 20 teams copeting for the Platinum League this season and weigh up their odds of winning the championship.

Aristostle Grove - Krokan Stadion (14,650): Newly promoted, with an ambitious manager, the Grove will be looking to put the tag of yo-yo club behind them and firmly establish themselves in the Platinum League. It'll be tough howeer, and in our mind thy're only going down.

Athletic Stanza - Topaz Stadium (51,250): The most successful club in Unitopolitan football will be looking for their 17th title this season, and with the purchases of Robert Sean Morrison and Dennis Puffin in the close season they just might.

Chitwick University - Scudamore Stadium (21,500): The Students are expected to struggle this season, and although their frontline has some formidable names in it, they're all well past their peak.

I know it's oh so late but, I've been putting this off because setting up the scorinator seemed like such a daunting task. In reality it only took around thirty minutes but, there is some luck. With the impending reduction of Unity League, the VFA has decided to (for next season), downgrade the two divisions to 12 teams each playing a thirty-four game schedule (akin to the original Division National. Like before, the schedule will see each team play their division mates twice, once home and once away. They will also play teams from outside their division once a piece. Six of these matches will be home, 6 away.

With the reduction in league size, the playoffs will be chopped in half. Only the top four teams from each division will make it to a bracket where it will be 1v4 and 2v3 in the first round. Like previously, the first two rounds will see a two game aggregate one home, one away for each team. The final will be a one off match in a neutral venue.

The VFA has also decided that it would be best if Virabia, following in the footsteps of the Whirl Islands, separated their UICA qualification from Unity League. Now, the matches played between the three Virabi teams in Unity League will also count torward a separate table. The champion of the intra-national matches will go to the TQCC and the two runners up will go to the Globe Cup. The final Globe Cup spot will go to the champion of the v.league playoffs. SBCC spots will go as follows:

It appears Racing Club Liyakovski couldn't keep up with their early-season pace, and they slipped down the top table leaving CSKA Tsaritin Saints to take the silverware of the very first Chetkosk Association Football Premier Trophy with a superb 10 point gap to their nearest competitors, CFR Dynamo Vilychek. PSV Stavropol played a stunning second half of the season to end 4th behind Red Star Kemenovsk FC, separated only by the goal difference between the two clubs. Lynx Korunyev PFC managed to escape relegation, rising 5 places in 19 games.

Much worse was CSKA Tomska's fall from 2nd to 7th, a disappointing result for club hopeful for the premier league as they just miss out on the playoff positions. CFR Jusefv Tower fall from 12th to 17th, relegated to the division below.

Rassvet Port Swifts are promoted to the Championship with great form in the second half of the season. Fencing Club indeed pick up their game from the first half of the season, and have been able to secure a spot in the Provincial Shield tournament. A small battle to escape relegation occured, with the Bears and Omutinskiy going down to the Amateurs.

New signing Vyacheslav Merkens showed his worth to RSK Longyearbyen Town with a pair of defence splitting assists away at Yuzhny.

St Paul make it three draws out of three with a solid performance away to Korsten, and van Sorensen knocks in his second hat trick in two matches as part of a resounding performance against Axel Heiburg. Mytanar imports continue to make an impact with both Vyacheslav Merkens and Filip Bosc making key contributions. Hoyvik Town picked up their first points of the campaign with a 3-0 at home to Aasiaat Harbour. Meanwhile, trouble at the reigning champions as they slip 1-2 to an unfancied FC Torshavn.

Jan Mayen Islanders continued their impressive 100% start to the season, with a brace from Filip Bosc helping them on their way to a 3-1 victory in Yuzhny, who continue to remain worryingly at the bottom end of the table. Axel Heiburg are another team that have started well out of the blocks, as they rack up another win with another stellar performance from Demarchelier key to this.

A fierce battling performance from FC Cape St Paul was not enough to seal a point in Longyearbyen, two late goals being their undoing after a match they could have won ended in a resounding defeat. Henning Blonqvist once more furthered his shouts to be a started for the national team, scoring a crucial goal for East Franz from a tight angle, whilst Ackermann-Finn, despite SK's strong start, now hasn't scored since his hat trick on the second day of the season.

An emphatic return to goalscoring for Ackermann-Finn then, who silences his critics with four goals against his former club Axel Heiburg, and in a classy move, didn't celebrate them at all. Jan Mayen slip to third in the table after a defeat in Severny, who jump above them in the table. Axel Heiburg nonetheless remain an impressively high fourth in the table, whilst FCs Torshavn and Cape St Paul bely their pre-season naysayers with strong, mid-table starts, but Aasiaat and Korsten lie at the foot of the table with roughly a quarter of the season gone.

Scapa Bay Rovers are the early pace-setters in Divisjon Three, closely followed by fellow newcomers FC Fetlar. Northbrook Zenith and Surtsey Rovers lie disappointingly close to the bottom of the table, whilst Resolute Hills and Sikjonek have stunned their opposition with a series of tough battling performances.

In West Divisjon, things are more standard, with pre-season favourites Matua and Savoonga sitting high in the table, waiting for Severny Wingtips to slip up from their strong start to the season. Devon Bay Lights prop up the division, and indeed the whole league system thus far.
