[The Jade Clan]

It was early spring in Jade. The mountains of Jade were a brilliant shade of green from the vast forests. Usually it would be peaceful time of the year. But it wasn't. Jade military vehicles rolled into villages. Taking the slaves into the fields. Lining them up and shooting them. Screams of women and children could be heard from miles. Blood covered the once pristine fields. Mass graves were being dug. The small minority of Marquis people had always been slaves. They were the bitter enemies of the Jade people. Now they would be killed. The military which is now in control of the country has decided to purify Jade. A decision supported by most of the citizens of Jade. Who have been taught from birth that the Marquis were inferior and their sole purpose was to serve the great people of the Jade Clan.

The capital building was one of finest buildings of Jade. It was modeled after the famous temples in the mountains. It is the HQ of all politics in Jade. General Kim Young was having a drink in his office. It was lavishly decorated. With paintings from all over the world. His desk was made out of Pine wood, on it was his various medals. He was sipping Tequila from La Auruma. The finest in the world. A young Officer then walked in. "How may I help you?" Asked Kim. Lowering his glass. "Well sir, the army carried out your orders to the letter. We estimate fifty thousand dead all ready. We still have some places we haven't yet gone too and some have escaped into the mountains." Reported the officer. "Good, continue the operation. Have some men track down those slaves. I don't want word to get out." Replied the General. Life was good.

The military continued its job. It was fairly easy. Since most slaves were concentrated in the south and eastern parts of the country. Now they waited to see what other countries thought about this. They were on red alert. They knew most countries wouldn't agree with this. Especially those pesky anti slavery countries.

A group of soldiers entered the village. They walked over to the Slave pen and ordered them out. Well the slaves marched to the field some were beaten until death with buttons. Blood gushed out from their smashed heads. Children were quickly shot to end their crying. Once they were gathered the head officer gave the order. The men squeezed the trigger from their guns and the slaves were all mowed down. Some tried to run but were to slow. Some women begged at the feet of the soldiers but were kicked and then shot. It was gruesome but necessary. The men then had the villagers dig the mass graves. Once this task was done the soldiers moved on to the village. The never ending cycle of killing never ending.

The slaves had been gathered into the town center. The spring breeze chilled the air. The sun peeked out in between the clouds. The slaves wondered what was going on. Then a noise ended the peace. Soldiers began firing their weapons. The sound of gun fire was never ending. People were mowed down, their bodies made a thud as they hit the hard cold ground. The soldiers showed no mercy. They remained expressionless. Some by standers cheered. Others just looked away. As the last bullets were shot the only movement in the town center were the crows poking at flesh.

The Mountains of Jade
In the snow covered mountains of Jade, it was calm and quiet. The sun rose of the mountain tops bringing sunlight onto the snow and reflecting back in every direction. Over the mountains, a stealth V-22 Osprey flew low to the ground using a camouflaged top to remain undetected. The specially angled plates deflected radar scans and the soundproofed engine compartments kept the V-22 fully stealth. The V-22 had been inside detection range for less than 10 secs when the pilot set it down in the snow while shutting down the engines. 20 men poured out of the back of the Osprey with snowmobiles and a single Humvee with snow tracks instead of wheels. The men covered their transport with camo sheets before heading off deeper into the mountains. There was a rumor of slave camps in the mountains of Jade, and five special forces teams of 20 men had been inserted to find the camps. The teams were fully equipped, their mission was to locate the camps and report their locations back to command, they were stand by to engage if orders were given.

We've been fortunate enough to avoid any major military entanglement in the last few years Owain Hawk thought to himself as he stared eastward, especially with the Post-Ralkovian overhauls but Gods was that alot of work and there's still some polish that needs to be put on, worse, And here his face moved slightly it looks like things might be about to get far, far to0 interesting for my liking
He turned slightly at the chuckle from the man standing next to him.

"Worried about the Whole Slavery thing, Hawk?" Asked Major General Lewis Scott (VC, MK, GL) as he looked at his fellow member of the ASD'ian High Command. Lewis was the Commander of Woad's Raiders, the force, pulled from all branches of the military, that was the ASD's Elite and, as such, was on the same high command team that included Sophia Shrike for the Queen's own, Issac D'orvill for the Marines, Gary Hallings for the Airforce, Andrea Woolwich for the army, Klaas Helmuth for the Aerospace Corps, Jarek Mace the prime minister and CIC and his companion for the Navy. That team had been given some bad news last night when both ONI and DICE (the two major ASD'ian intelligence services) suggested that serious trouble was brewing between pro and anti slavery forces. The High command and their various staff had spent the following hours working through reports and trying to determin exactly how bad things were and how much the ASD needed to mobilize.

""Yah laugh it up Lewis," Hawk replied, "We both know you got off easy last night, hell I think one of my people even caught you and your "elites" actually getting some sleep, unlike the rest of us poor overworked regular types."

Hawk's expression became more serious, "Yah," He said, "it doesn't look too good does it?"

Lewis shrugged and the joking expression was gone, replaced by utter seriousness and determination. "honestly? It's hard to say at the moment but given our stance on Slavery and the fact that we've only recently gotten our military fully ready and prep'd I think there's a good chance we'll have to get involved and with some of the nations the report mentioned this wouldn't be a simple bush war by any means."

"Enough of the shop talk!" said a Soprano voice As Sophia Shrike, commander of the Queen's Own stepped out of the heavily armored and well disguised doorway that led, eventually, into the heart of the mountain and the ASDC. It was part of the ritual that the three had developed while working together, every morning that they found themselves together at the ASDC, they would come out just before sunrise. Owain Hawk, Sophia Shrike and Lewis Scott watched in silence, for a moment, as the Sun rose over the snow capped Sapphire Peaks mountain range in what was described as "the most spectacular sunrise in the ASD" by nearly everyone who had had the privilege to see it and, just for a moment, all three managed to forget about their various worries and responsibilities.

"Deployment Orders!" Shrieked midshipwoman Vicky Collier as she burst, like some sort of force of nature, into the quarters of Midshipman Harry Hawk. "Harry, where are you assigned!?!"

"uhhhhn" Groaned Harry, trying to stuff his head far enough under his pillow to keep the noise out. The party the night before for the graduating class had gotten . . .intense and, he was fairly sure, only a force of nature like Vicky could stand, let alone actually move after that much booze.

"Rise and Shine!" She said, only slightly less loudly and pulled aside the blinds bathing the room in light that was, in Harry's considered opinion, far too bright. "We've got our orders! Can't have us brand new middies sleeping in any more than you already have Harry!"

"Fiiine" He groaned in response and managed to sit up as the room span. "Water?" he asked hopefully.

"Sure." Vicky replied cheerfully and the typhoon was gone, headed for the cafeteria.

Resisting the desire to go back to bed, Harry logged into the laptop on his desk and pulled up the file marked "urgent: Orders".

He looked up as Vicky entered again and, despite the hangover, the excitement was clear, "I got Eight Fleet!"

She Beemed back at him and her smile was huge, "That's Awesome! Me too! And, if your source are right-"

"And they always are," he interrupted with a grin and then winced as the hangover reasserted itself.

"As I was saying" She sniffed and her eyes gleamed with laughter. "It looks like eighth fleet might be deploying to support the Raiders somewhere, we're looking at an actual combat cruise!"

Chancellor Monz Kryzer solemnly strode into the parliament. Never during his campaign had he thought he would be the first Delkoran chancellor in over twenty years to put forth a war vote before the parliament. Yet here he was. He stepped up to the podium and scanned the 100 representatives seated throughout the room. There were varied expressions. The members of the socialist party shared his sorrow. The libertarians meanwhile looked outraged. Many looked like they would pick up a rifle themselves and march into Jade right now if given the chance. They had all seen the sattelite images of the mass graves.

"Representatives," Kryzer declared, and the room went silent. "For twenty-five years Delkora has been at peace. We even went as far as to rename our military the "Defense Forces" rather than the "Armed Forces". But now, we stand faced with the growing threat of slavery. This threat has been exemplified by the events in Jade. It is my opinion that now is the time to act. We cannot sit idly by and allow this travesty to continue. But that is not my descision; it is yours. You have had five hours to deliberate. All in favor of a declaration of war against Jade say aye!"

The room shook with a nearly unanimous 'aye'. Hands shot into the air. It took only a matter of minutes to confirm the results: 92 in favor, 8 opposed. Delkora was officially at war.
