I might help HL if he was more in touch with reality. near-libertarianism isn't bad, provided there's a leash thrown in somewhere.

Alpha Atlantis is a new city. A City based on Capitalism uncomprimised and unregulated. A City that rejected Altusim all forms of it. This is a city where self-intrest is paromount and sacrafice rejected. The collectivist and the Religous have no place here.

Where is this city? How many acres? How many real people live/work in it? You claim that as founder and member of the general council you still communicate with the "outside world"

Who else is on your general council?

Are people in this city of yours not able to speak for themselves? What sorts of products does your city produce? How could I go about buying one of them?

Their main export is spelling errors, and their main import is random capitalization.

because, you see, HE will never need it, HE is not a leech, HE is strong, and will ALWAYS be strong.

That's the definining characteristic of libertarian nutcases and their strong aversion to social welfare. They see it as taking "their" money and giving it to "someone else" They don't see it as paying into a general fund that ANYONE can draw from, if they need to.

They don't see it that way, because they can't imagine a world where they will ever, ever have to. Until, of course, comes the day that they do. Then they're not so much libertarians anymore.

Much like those women who are so anti abortion, until one broken condom sends them on a trip to the clinic. Most people who are against progressive social programs are against them because they lack two things. 1) empathy and 2) imagination. They can't care about people who aren't them, and they have no ability to see themselves in the same position.

Until the day comes that they are.

That would be more encouraging if most of those women didn't go back to protesting abortion right after having their own.

I run a company I want to make a new product but wait the new product will be dangerous to the enviorment. So I can`t make the product but it would have help humans but hurt the enviorment a little. But the enviorment is safe

I still have a company and I pay my workers a fair wage. But wait The Union demanded that I raise the wage to 1 million dollars because it would help them. They are defending agianst the abuse and thing the wage is too small. But the workers think the wage is fair but the union barginers say that they are wrong. So they sue me when I dissagre and the courts agree forcing me to pay 1 million dollars to every workers. But the unions get me to take away any payment to non-union workers.

But the unions helped the workers that I was clearly abusing with my fair wage.

I ahve decided not the back a certian politician running for a office. That person wins but the company who did back him uses his pull to hurt my company using regulations. But the people are more safe now thanks to the new regulations.

I have decided not to give money to charity. But the goverment found out and issue a new tax forcing me to give all of my income to pay for the welfare of others. I may have lost all of my money and it`s hard for me to earn some thanks to the new 1 million dollar wage. But I sacraficed for society.

Some people got hurt because one person was over drinking. I am have to pay so he can have free healthcare because he is poor. I can`t pay alot but I can`t lower the new fair wage which has been raised to 4 million dollars because 1 million dollars were clearly unfair to the union workers.

But I still pay with the help of the union but I had to raise it 65 million since 4 million wasn`t enough to pay for everyone`s car and house. So I helped people but I sacraficed and Helped.

The Union forces me to hire all the workers that need a job. So the unions in thier infinte knowldge of thier wokers. Make me hire more workers because of need not of abllity. Too bad all the good workers are gone. But all the bad ones got a job. Also the union make me raise it to 90 million dollars. seeing that I was being unfair with only 65 million.

Wait.... didn't you claim earlier that unions bar membership to unskilled workers? So... why would the union then force you to hire unskilled workers, not within their union which you also claimed that unions don't do? ... My brain threatens collapse.

Your above example is a vast hyperbole on Chicken Little scale.

Besides, if you go out of business, despite the circumstances, by your own logic it's because you didn't work hard enough, so sucks to be you, little man!

Also, I don't think you've ever been to Canada, have you?

What, GDP is the only measure of how well a country is doing? How well it responds to the needs of its citizens? For that matter, how would that GDP chart look if China were to call in all of the US' debts owed to them?

Sure, China sucks for political freedoms and isn't that hot on civil liberties. Then again, they don't claim to be a democracy.

Please go to Europe yourself to see it.

You can spend up to 3 months in any European country without needing a residency or work permit just on your US visa. Go to Germany, France, Netherlands, Sweden. Spend at least 3 weeks in each. Ride the trains, go to the restaurants. Walk in the city centers and in the parks.

You will see with your own eyes that the people you watch on youtube have been lying to you about life in Europe. Europe is a great place to live. I can promise you that Europe is nothing like what you described. The streets in most towns and cities are overflowing with thriving businesses. They make most cities in the US seem like ghost towns.

Don't tell me you can't afford it. If you can't it means you are a failure according to your philosophy. Go get a job so you can afford it. You are worthless according to your philosophy if you can't trade your skills for money. So do it and get some money to experience life with.

History, where are you?
I thought I'd give you a lesson on the word "minimum", as you seem to have interpreted it incorrectly when in the phrase "minimum wage".

Another information is Mimmum wage laws. These laws you say are good but are a problem. The goverment is deciding how much you have to pay all of your workers. code word ALL that means you can not pay them on thier abllity. You must all pay them the same. That destorys incintive to work.

Under the mimmum wage laws. All workers are payed the same destroing the incintive to work harder. Which prevents people from being hired increasing uneployment.

Minimum means the smallest amount possible. Amounts above that amount can exist.

Let's say minimum wage in retail for a 19-yr old ias $12.91/hr. I could get paid $12.91/hr. Or 15.00/hr. Or even $18.52/hr. The minimum wage I can be paid is $12.91/hr, but I can be paid more. And I have been! You can still pay workers more when they are more skilled, pr better performers. Not in your rational self interests to pay workers more? I disagree. Workers on the minimum wage will constantly be looking around for another job, that offers better conditions, or better wages. You loose them, and you have to invest not only in finding a replacement, but in training the replacement too. And reworking the dynamics of the team. Morale is actually important - people with low morale aren't as efficient. A wage higher than the minimum can actually give a sense of security, a sense that you as a person are desired (= higher morale) and you are less likely to loose that employee to another company.
