A couple hours, and 14 endorsements already! Despite subversive attempts at getting people to unendorse!

Really? Hmm, sounds like someone's a little nervous about their resolution's chances of survival.

Sandbagging a test run of a repeal with 14 approvals? Must have hit a nerve, Ambassador Koopman.

We support fairer trade, however Res.#118 is about protectionism that is fundamentally reactionary. The Ethics in International Trade was a good resolution in many respects but spoilt by the category of protective tariffs rather than human-rights.

We'll support the repeal.

You have my support old bean, even though my government ignores and subverts this travesty of law.

Thanks! Considering the circumstances, this is going remarkably well. 17 more approvals needed at this stage. Tell your friends!

Nervous? Why yes of course. ;)

The thought of neoliberalism winning over humanitarianism is a truly horrific notion, hence I've got to do what I can to prevent such a tragedy. Good day!

Eduard Heir grabbed his aide nervously, "You do it."

His aide ran away and defenstrated himself.

Eduard snorted and walked up to the podium, he tapped the microphone and flinched at the feedback he received, he spoke softly with his announcement.

"For the following week, the Unibotian Delegation has been considering that with the notifier having been installed in the World Assembly, we feel less secure than we once did that Ethics in International Trade could be defended by a strong delegation opposition to a repeal. With this in mind, I have been in private conference with the Knootoss delegation to discuss a private settlement to this issue. Unibot has already signed to the following terms:
  • Unibot will never again propose a General Assembly resolution that does not meet with the approval of the government of Knootoss. Knootoss will make a reasonable effort to seek compromise (i.e. won't just say no to everything). In the absence of a stated Knootian opinion, Unibot can proceed as planned. No limitations have been applied to the Security Council;
  • Unibot will pay full compensation for losses incurred by the Dutch Democratic Republic as a result of compliance with "Ethics in International Trade";
  • Unibot will cede a coastal area of 50 sq. km, permitting Knootoss to build a military base in the Eastern Islands of Dharma. The area permitted is in the North Eastern portion of the Johan Parish in Unibot, just off of the coastline.
  • The agreement shall be made public, prior to a request for deletion is made.

With these terms having been accepted, we subsequently demand that the Knootoss delegation to (1) ask for the current repeal attempt to be removed, (2) never resubmit a repeal of Ethics in International Trade ever again, by any means or proxy. Thank you."

World Assembly Office, WA HQ

"Ambassador's blog, war date 23 02 2011. I've never trusted Unibotians, and I never will. I can never forgive them... for Ethics in International Trade. It seems to me our mission to oversee the drafting process for all Unibotian resolutions is problematic at best. Daatman says this could be an historic occasion, and I'd like to believe him. But how on Earth can history get past people like me?"

Aram Koopman pulled a face, and pushed a button on the recording device. With practiced aim, he tossed the device to his aide. All traces of his quite serious expression were removed from his features. "That time was much better", he declared. "Go ahead and leak it to some friendly journalists, alright?"

"Alright, then." The aide said with a shrug. "But I wouldn't be hold my breath on them keeping up their end of the bargain. We only have their word for it..."

"Yeah yeah... they probably think they can lawyer their way out of this somehow." Aram conceded. "When they do, we can bring back the resolution, and it'll be quite an accomplishment if their third world military and hippy allies manage to dislodge us from the Drama Isles."

"Dharma", the aide corrected.

"That's what I said."

That sounds... oddly familiar, Mr. Kir- er, Koopman. :P

You'll have to write your own. Messrs. Koopman and Heir have struck a deal, and this won't be submitted. Er, re-submitted.
