Regarding Swilatia's eligibility for the Baptism of Fire tournament:

Swilatia has been in the World Cup on three separate periods: WC25–30, WC33–37, and for WC43. They did not participate in the BoF preceding WC25, WC33, or WC43, and hence would be eligible for the upcoming BoF.

Sign-ups have now been updated to West Newmanistan. 114 nations in total are currently signed up for participation in the 47th World Cup Qualifiers. 2 more are on the provisional list, and 23 of the 114 nations are puppets.

44 nations are, as far as I can tell, eligible for the Baptism of Fire, of which 33 of those have decided to sign up for it. This is, by far, the most enormous BoF that we've ever had, and may lead to an unorthodox (not in that way) schedule. Once LE/Bos have posted their bid later on today, I'll open:

Baptism of Fire bid post: Bostopia/Liventia

Bostopia and Liventia are officially bidding for hosting rights to the pre-WC47 Baptism of Fire tournament. This will be Bostopia's first major international sporting event he's hosted, apart from the 6th World Grand Prix Championship. Liventia on the other hand has hosted multiple World Cups (WC22, 37, 41, 46) and assorted tournaments.

Format — this will ultimately depend on the number of teams the eventual WC hosts choose to accept. Current plausible formats are the regular World Cup format for 32 teams, or a 48-team, 8 groups of 6 format. The eventual format will be adapted to the number of signups.

Scorination — NationStates FootySim 2.0.7. Style modifiers of ±3.

RP bonus — The most important part of the bid. RP bonus will be based on the same system used for the World Cup 46 qualifiers, which will reward constant and consistently good RPers. Gordon Bay City, Newmanistan and Silexhera, to name just three, were beneficiaries of this in WC46Q.

Scorination time — Daily at around 1600 UTC (5 pm BST, 1 pm EDT).

Stadia and the like will be made known if the bid is confirmed, as we do not believe the IC factors in a bid to be as important as the OOC factors.
