World Cup 102 Cycle

Rosters ꩜ Roleplays ꩜ Results

Baptism of Fire 89 ꩜ Host Bid ꩜ Cup of Harmony 94

Welcome to the Roster Thread for World Cup 102!

This is the thread where participants of World Cup 102 should post their team rosters! Your roster may be as simple or as detailed as you'd like, though note that higher-quality rosters will receive a larger bonus. Please regard these items regarding rosters, whether this is your first time or sixty-seventh time hunting for the ultimate prize:
  • Please do not "reserve" or "tag" post in this thread. These will be treated as spam. Use the draft function on the forums or an outside text editor if you need multiple sessions to complete your roster. If you reserve a post and try to edit it later, the hosts may miss your roster, causing you to lose out on rightfully-earned bonus.
  • This World Cup will institute a no-roster penalty. Any ranked nations which have not posted their roster by the first matchday will be penalized with a reduction in rank, specifically a 25% loss in starting value per cutoff while the roster remains unposted (culminating in full loss of rank by the fourth cutoff). Any penalized nations will have the penalty removed immediately once their roster is posted!
  • As with the rest of World Cup 102, please do not use generative AI to create your roster. Using AI for name generation, formatting assistance, or flavor images are acceptable edge cases, but any usage to this end MUST be declared. Additional roster content (such as wholesale player info generation, team details, or any other substantial usage) is expressly forbidden and will result in complete loss of bonus. Don't do it.
  • If you wish, please include a style mod prominently displayed in your roster (-5 to +5). For those unaware, a "style modifier" is used to describe a team's offensive or defensive tendency. If your team plays more aggressive/offensive, they should have a positive style mod, and vice versa for conservative/defensive (with 0 as a perfectly balanced team). The larger the number, the more extreme the playstyle. When provided in a roster, these values (up to 3 decimal places) are used in scorination. This can cause your team's matches to feature higher or lower total goals scored (it will NOT affect who wins, or the margin of victory).
  • Whether or roster is big or small, please include an RP Permissions box! This helps your opponents know what you consider to be acceptable use of your team and players, should they RP a match between their team and yours. If you already have a permissions box, steady on. If you don't, considering copying the template below and adjusting your preferences as needed for each point. Remember to reference your opponent's RP permissions box, should you RP a match with their team. Failure to follow an opponent's RP permissions is against NS Sports rules and will be penalized accordingly.
Code: Select all

Choose my goalscorers: Yes/No
Godmod scoring events: Yes/No
RP injuries to my players: Yes/No
Godmod injuries to my players: Yes/No
Hand out yellow cards to my players: Yes/No
Hand out red cards to my players: Yes/No

This thread is now open, so any team confirmed to be participating in World Cup 102 may post their roster at their leisure. Good luck in the tournament.

Choose my goalscorers: Yes
Allow Bizarro scoring events: Only if they are somewhat reasonable, e.g. something like a really stupid tap in would be permissible, but something like "A Learnosaurus suddenly SPAWNS IN ON THE PITCH AND BREAKS EVERYONE'S ANKLES AND SCORES A BANGER GOAL WHILST POINTING TO A CARICATURE OF KIT BODEGA" would not be allowed. Home Stadia
Der Rote Wolfen usually play home games at the 200,000 capacity Stadion 8. Mai 1904. As this is the national stadium alongside the home of the Aberstorff Kaisers, major national cup finals, and the youth national teams, regular maintenance occurs more often than usual national stadia. When the 8. Mai 1904 is not available, home games are often played at either the 146,000 capacity Heroes Stadium in Terio, or at neutral ground.

What is an Armatonisdaristan?
This section has been ripped from my national factbook. This contains useful infos for tourists!
Armatonisdaristan is a conservative Free Socialist liberal dictatorship run by Kaiser Detter I with an iron fist. Its population is 384.46 billion. Its currency is the Armatonisdaristani krona, in which the exchange rate is AEK 1/$2.59 and its national animal is the Luk moose, a native species. In the heart of the capital, Aberstorff is a diverse culture, and several soft drinks stands. A “Museum of Art and History” is located in Aberstorff and in Aaros. The Luk moose is an endangered species, and less than 500 are remaining in the wild of the Garaiya.

The country declared independence from Germany in 1904. It used to be called the German Republic of Armatonisdaristan.

The official political ideology is “Free Socialism” where government and state-owned companies are common but private industries are heavily encouraged and (mostly) successful. Free Socialism has existed since independence, although in the early days had Communist leanings. Armatonisdaristan is considered a conservative nation.

Their internet code is .aa and their three-letter code is AAT.

Armatonisdaristan has 9 administrative oblasts, 3 special autonomous regions and 2 special oblasts.

The 15 regions are as follows (in population order):

Special Capital Oblast of Aberstorff
Special Oblast of Ovia (Capital: Ovia)
Eastern Germany SAR (Capital: Ausachern) (Governed from Aberstorff)
Quasar Oblast (Capital: Terio)
Alke Oblast (Capital: Süd-Jan-Stadt)
Unir SAR (Capital: Märten) (Governed from Aberstorff)
Lichi Oblast (Capital: Evios)
Tilke Oblast (Capital: Alphard)
Aaros Oblast (Capital: Aaros)
Maxim SAR (Capital: Obrak)
Yuz Oblast (Capital: Yuz)
Eruv Oblast (Capital: Aal-Stadt)
Raal Oblast (Capital: Raal)
Garaiya Oblast (Capital: Dara)
Lotench Autonomous Oblast (Capital: Butan) (Governed from Aberstorff)

Additional infos about Armatonisdaristan:
Armatonisdaristan is an extremely patriotic country, with most rivalries disappearing when the national team plays. Most Armatonisdaristanis support their local team. How does one get into Armatonisdaristan? We take in flights from across the NS multiverse for air links, however flights from Earth countries also land. For those with rail connections and with access to Sernet, the best option is the legendary Great Undersea Maglev (GUSM). The GUSM departs in our direction from Sernetesen, with stops in Ausachern, Aaros and the terminus in Aberstorff. The GUSM is jointly run by Sernetrail and the Armatonisdaristani Railways, meaning sleek services and swift transport. You can get around Armatonisdaristan a lot by car and by train; the Armatonisdaristani Railways are your easiest bet for rail links. For those that prefer cycling or walking, there are plenty of pedestrianised lanes in the major cities too. Please note Armatonisdaristan is a conservative country, so do refrain from forced smiles, smoking, or drinking. Respect our local customs and culture, and you’ll enjoy it here. We will welcome you.
Glory to Armatonisdaristan.

Rote Wolfen will play in Qualifying Group 22 against the following nations: Bongo Johnson, Kelssek, Hanalia, Olastor, Vdara and New Kowloon Bay

*Will be updated after the qualifying group draw. Stay tuned!

Sernet - who are we?
This section contains useful information for visitors and those wanting to know more about their fellow competitors.

The Metrostocracy of the Sernetian Empire, commonly known as Sernet, is a sizeable, relatively dense, space-capable and industrial nation located on the planet of Urseom in the Solin Solar System. At Sernet's core stands its beating heart and partially namesake capital, Sernetesen, a colossal metropolis of skyscrapers, a sprawling rail network and constant movement; buildings as far as the eye can see.
Beyond the capital lie other major urban giants: Stensemertef with its sprawling freight yards, massive port and countless tower blocks stretching far and wide can see; Nestomerisen, dubbed "the great Nest", city of 10,000 trades; Sporstrodisen, a titanic technological hub and another port city; Sermeslau, bastion of the north; and Sultrisend, where industry runs 24 hours a day and the night sky glows from all the light beneath. Just to name a few. Sernet as a whole can be seen as a vast web of cities. Sernet is also a bilingual state, with the main language being Linteric (very similar to Earth's english). Some parts of the northeast of the country are Korelish-speaking (very similar to Polish on Earth), with major cities in the area including Stroławostok and Plostruń. However, most Sernetians speak both languages, meaning communication is smooth. Provinces in Sernet are known as governorates. Sernet is a strongly unified and very patriotic state, with a large chunk of the population being avowedly loyal to the nation.
Internationally, Sernet is known for its skyscrapers, its relentlessly efficient industrial output, its labyrinth of a railway network, and its population of citizens who are proud and patriotic. During international tournaments, chants in support of the Steamers echo across the country. But outside of the sprawling towns and cities is the harmonious countryside, beautiful scenic views stretching out into the horizon, straight out of a fairy tale. Contrary to the stereotypes, Sernet isn't all brick, glass concrete and steel, it's natural paradise too. Sernet also has a strong military and space force to protect national interests and project authority where required. The Sernetian Empire is the wider form of Sernet, encompassing colonies such as Smoltrendestof and Toperis, all of which were peacefully acquired; there were little "native" populations on these lands and some colonies are entirely extraterrestrial, such as Toperis. The Sernetian Empire is famously benevolent, and has always been since its formation during the era of enlightenment in the nation's rich history.
And of course, Sernet is known for football.

This map is now outdated, although I have retained it here. New map below:

This small snippet of the new map shows Sernet and Smoltrendestof (the bit in the far west of the map). Only a few cities are present and the coastlines are not refined as the map is still under construction. However it is more accurate than the first one.

Top 3:

Sernetesen is the largest city in Sernet by far, with 16.0 million living within Greater Sernetesen and a further 8.4 million living within the rest of Sernetesen governorate, bringing the total population of the whole governorate to 24,467,400

Nestomerisen is the second largest with a total of 9.2 million people within the metropolitan area and another 1 million within surrounding suburb towns which technically count, bringing the popuation up to 10.2 million people

Stensemertef has a total population of 8.2 million, including the entire Stensemertef Metropolitan Subgovernorate.

around 3.4M people live in this area; largest city Spabondrisem 672K, includes cities such as merglendosen, seskendrolmesen and swadnilesem
Smoltrendestof:
the area is home to around 10M people

Notes:
-vast majority of Sernet's population is urban and live in towns and cities of over 100k
-pretty much everyone else lives in a town of over 25k
-metropolitan areas in sernet are larger than in most other places so it may seem like a city is larger than it really is: most of the aforementioned cities take up a decent amount of land, meaning they are not incredibly dense.

Football in Sernet

Football is not merely a sport here. It is a way of life. Nearly every Sernetian supports a local club, and the domestic rivalries are explosive, heated, and occasionally all-consuming. Matches between Stronghold Sernetesen FC, Setelendisen FC, Governorate Dameristol, Loblinisen Wanderers, Korona Stroławostok, Zwiazek Gdasenowo, Colliers' UFC, Legion Sultrisend-Livedendrisen, Union Slalosol, Sermeslau Giants, Nestomerisen Knights, Snarisosnum City, Sporstrodisen Athletic and numerous others define the emotional rhythm of many Sernetians.
The rivalries are deeply rooted: industrial pride, city-versus-city competition, and even politics and ideological jabs sometimes play into them. Crowd atmospheres in Sernetian stadia are renowned across the world: loud, united and proud. Sernetian footballing history goes way back, it has now been almost two centuries since the beautiful game reached Sernet, the Sernetian National Team was established in 1854, although standardisation only occured in 1865, with many clubs dating back to the 19th century.
However, when Sernet plays internationally, all rivalries immediately dissolve. The whole nation stands united behind the Steamers, named for the vast plumes of white steam which rose from Sernet's railway stations and industrial stacks back in the day before electrification. Everyone in Sernet loves the steamers. Any view other than that is considered heresy (obviously it's not a life-or-death matter, but still...)
Sernet is one of Urseom's biggest footballing powerhouses, having one of the planet's greatest national teams, not to mention the Sernefoot Gold League is one of the strongest leagues on Urseom. Until very recently, however, the Steamers had rarely ventured beyond their regional football sphere. Sernet's participation in the NS World Cup, the multiverse's most prestigious football tournament, enabled by recent technological advancements allowing for rapid space travel through the gateway system, has electrified the country's football culture even further, renewing pride in Sernet's legends. Now with the 102nd edition of the World Cup looming, the Sernetian Empire is united in support of the Steamers once more.

The Sernetian football system has recently undergone a shift, resulting in the formation of a new league system replacing the former multiple tier system. The Sernefoot Gold League is now the Premier division of Sernetian football, followed by the Silver League and the Bronze League. These leagues contain 24 teams; the bottom three teams are relegated each season to the league below and the top three promoted to the league above. Additionally, teams who finish top, or near the top, of the Goal League table qualify for a range of different competitions. Each team plays each other twice every season in the top three leagues.
Below the Bronze League comes Sernefoot Division 1, which also consists of 24 teams. The first team from Division 1 is automatically promoted to the Bronze League, while positions 2-5 play each other for promotion in the playoffs - out of the four teams, 2 can qualify. The bottom four teams are relegated into Division Two. This cycle carries on through Divisions 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and finally Division 9, the lowest League of Sernefoot football. From each of the Division leagues (except for 1 & 9) the Top 2 qualify automatically while places 3-6 enter the playoffs. 2 more teams from positions 3-6 get promoted, meaning that in total 4 teams get promoted. The bottom 4 teams are relegated. There are no relegation playoffs. Because Division 9 is the lowest Sernefoot League, 4 teams get promoted from Div 9 to 8, but only 2 are relegated. The relegated teams are replaced by whichever team is at the top of the SLSA (Sernet League System Association) Zone of the two clubs being relegated. Those zones are Sernet Northeast, Sernet North, Sernet Central, Sernet South, Sernet East and Sernet West. If the two relegated teams belong to the same zone, then the top two teams from that zone are promoted. The SLSA Zone a team is in is obviously based on geographical location, for example, a team located in Sernetesen would be under the Sernet Central Zone and a team located in Krafnoslau would be under the Sernet Northeast Zone. All clubs are under an SLSA Zone, even those in the Gold League.
Additionally, some of Sernet's colonies operate their own leagues, most notably Smoltrendestof. The Smoltrendestof Premiership and Championship were under Sernefoot, whereas the leagues beneath were SLSA. However, with the recent formation of the Smoltrendestof Independent Football Association (SIFA), they are now operated by SIFA as opposed to Sernefoot. Both Smoltrendestof Leagues have 12 teams, bringing the amount of Sernefoot clubs in Smoltrendestof to 24. The bottom two teams from both leagues are relegated, and the top two are promoted.

There are also several domestic competitions, such as the Sernefoot Crown Cup, which is Sernet's equivalent of the FA cup. The Crown Cup consists of 64 clubs, which includes the entire Gold League, Silver League and two-thirds of the Bronze League. The Bronze League clubs which get to participate are determined by their placement last season, with the top 12 clubs as well as the 4 which were relegated from the Silver League getting a spot. The tournament begins with a Group Stage, consisting of 16 groups of 4 teams. The Groups are decided through pots. The top 2 clubs from each Group advance to the Knockouts Stage. The eventual finalists have to make it through the Round of 32, the Hexadecifinals, the Quarterfinals, and the Semifinals. The losers of the semifinals face each other in the Third place playoff (3PPO) whereas the winners face off in the Grand Final for the Crown. All matches are single-legged.

Another major cup is the Pyramid Cup, which features qualifying rounds for clubs in lower leagues, however, the competition is not as prestigious as the Crown Cup. The first round of the Pyramid Cup begins at Division 9, the lowest league which is part of Sernefoot. The top 16 finishers from the season beforehand face off in knockouts until 4 clubs remain. These surviving clubs move on to face the top 12 finishers of Division 8, with the 4 clubs from Division 9 being added on to make a 16 club knockout bracket. The four clubs which make it out of these knockouts move on to face off against the top 12 finishers from Division 7, with the exact same structure carrying on through Divisions 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1. The 4 clubs which emerge from Division 1 are then narrowed down until two clubs emerge. The two surviving clubs then face off against the top 2 finishers of the Bronze League, Silver League and Gold League in the final Knockout Stage, the winner of which is the ultimate champion of the Pyramid Cup.

How to Get to Sernet

Sernet is remarkably easy to reach. Direct flights arrive from across the multiverse, with the majority funnelled into Sernetesen Storimidros International Airport, the nation's primary gateway to distant countries. These interstellar flights have been enabled by the the Gateway System, which allows vessels to pass through engineered wormholes and emerge at distant locations across space; for details, read my factbooks.
Travellers from nearer neighbours (like Armatonisdaristan) may instead land at Sernetesen West, Stensemertef International, or other large regional hubs. The national flag carrier, Sernetian Airways, operates most long-distance flights; its fleet is functional, modern and remarkably comfortable.
An alternative for those with access to flights to Armatonisdaristan is to take advantage of the legendary GUSM (Great Undersea Maglev). Departing from Aberstorf, the GUSM speeds beneath the ocean and surfaces on Sernet's shores, connecting directly to major cities at stations such as Sernetesen Gateway, Hostrisen International, Sultrisend Steamlake, Wosserom Obelisk, and more, as well as Stensemertef International and Nestomerisen International if taking GUSM Sleeper. The GUSM also provides a rail link from Smoltrendestof to the mainland as Smoltrendestof is conveniently located along the maglev trunk line, and the cities in Smoltrendestof are served by the namesake Smoltrendestof International station. Because the line is operated by Sernetrail, fares are astonishingly low, or at least cheaper than flying. Sernet loves trains, and wants you to use them. It is useful to know that you can travel on maglev domestically using Sernetrail Maglev services or the GUSM between stations in Sernet, but it is likely to be more expensive than travelling by conventional high-speed rail.
Cruise ships also arrive at several ports for those who dislike flying, though they take far longer than the sleek GUSM or the plane.

Getting Around Sernet

Upon arriving, travellers will quickly notice the defining characteristic of Sernet’s internal infrastructure: railways everywhere.
The rail network here is famously dense; an extensive web connecting every corner of the nation. Even the smallest settlement has at least one station; in urban centres, stations come every couple hundred metres. Trains are frequent, often punctual, cheap, clean, comfortable and used by virtually everyone. No matter where you are in the Sernetian Empire, unless it's a random remote overseas territory, you're never far from the railway.

Sernetesen, being the nation's vast capital, is a maze of transit systems: the SMR, SMR+, Sernetesen Sprinter, ESLR, Trams, Buses, Ferries and Sernetrail services too. Sernetrail services, branded under various different operators, operate commuter and suburban services in and around Sernetesen, high-speed and long-distance services to destinations around the country, as well as various slower, semi-fast and express regional services. Not to mention Sernetrail Maglev. Road travel is also popular, and Current Car Rentals operates across the country. However, traffic is moderately heavy in major cities, and while not an absolute nightmare, most visitors quickly realise the train is universally superior. Intercity coach lines such as Sernetbus exist but are generally slower and only marginally cheaper than rail.
Domestic flights do exist, but the train outperforms them so thoroughly that only the poshest of business travellers even bother.

Things to Know
Sernet is a deeply patriotic and somewhat disciplined country in terms of alcohol consumption. Visitors should be aware that:
-Anti-state chants or provocations can quickly escalate into confrontations (often with football hooligans).
-Police forces are strict (though not unreasonably brutal), heavily armed, and not shy about enforcing public order.
-The nation is somewhat socially conservative, and revealing clothing, especially for women, may attract unwanted attention in certain areas. Crime exists in some cities, particularly at night, and visitors are advised to stay on main streets and avoid wandering alone while intoxicated.

Regarding flares, Sernet allows the use of cold flares, however they have recently become much rarer and flares are now usually only used in organised displays.

Sernet is also a Muslim-majority country, and while socially practical and modern, alcohol consumption is regulated. Drinking is allowed only in designated venues such as hotels, licensed bars and designated alcohol zones. Supporters celebrating match results must remain civil and follow local etiquette.
Despite these warnings, Sernetians are proud hosts, and the country is extremely safe when common sense is applied. Visitors will find a dynamic, efficient, loud, proud and unforgettable nation, a land of trains, skyscrapers, and football.
Enjoy your stay. Sernet is him.

DISCLAIMER: We know that sometimes Sernet is painted as an industrial hellhole with pollution everywhere, but trust me, from a neutral, non-biased point of view it is actually a pleasant nation to be in (mostly).

Player Bios
For reasons of me not having enough time, I only made bios for the starting XI. More Bios will be coming soon. Also the images are work in progess. Thanks for understanding.

1) Tomasz Pasarowski - Goalkeeper (Sermeslau Giants), 24

Calm, precise, and fearless under pressure. Pasarowski has become the Steamers' safest pair of hands, known for lightning reactions and a commanding voice that can silence even the rowdiest back line. A natural-born organiser and an absolute legend.
Origins: Born in Suribań, moved to Blobnoslau in Sermeslau as a child.

3) Janusz Tworpowski - Defender (Governorate Dameristol), 22

A young defensive prodigy with ice-cold composure. Reads attacks like a book and loves stepping forward to cut passing lanes early. Already a fan favourite for his "no-nonsense, no-panic" style.
Origins: Stensemertef

4) Dominik Zoliba - Defender (Sermeslau Giants), 35

The veteran enforcer. Heavy, hard, and reliable as steel, exactly what Sernet's defence is built on. Zoliba brings decades of experience and can shut down even elite forwards with pure positioning and grit.
Origins: Palatisolt, moved to Sermeslau later on

22) Stirius Mantrostem - Defender / Emergency Goalkeeper (Union Slalosol), 32

A utility warrior. Mantrostem is tough, tall, and unmovable in duels, equally comfortable sliding into desperate blocks or pushing up on set pieces. His odd dual-role background as an emergency keeper has given him exceptional spatial awareness. He carries the number 22 on his shirt as he believes it is lucky.
Origins: Sernetesen

9) Stefan Jatrowski - Midfielder (Korona Stroławostok), 30

The engine. Jatrowski runs forever, presses endlessly, and stitches together Sernet's transitions with clean, vertical passing. A midfield bulldozer with intelligence to match his stamina.
Origins: Born in Sronisławów-nad-morzem

16) Korolianus Stork - Midfielder, 2nd Vice Captain (Governorate Dameristol), 34

Stork is the tactical brain of the midfield, composed, elegant, and brutally efficient. When the Steamers need control, he supplies it; when they need cool leadership, he embodies it. Some people say he's the team's on-pitch diplomat.
Origins: Lunstrisolt

8) Zbigniew Komstrowski - Midfielder, Vice Captain (Governorate Dameristol), 24

A versatile playmaker who drifts between lines and slices defences open. Komstrowski can operate as a traditional 8, a secondary 10, or even a hybrid winger. Creates sparks out of nothing.
Origins: Sosenystowos

15) Rami Alforez - Midfielder (Club Septingof), 19

Young, explosive, and fearless. Alforez brings raw pace and incisive dribbling to a midfield otherwise filled with veterans. A breakout star in the making with a knack for late runs into the box.
Origins: Septingof

18) Samir Dottman - Midfielder (Setelendisen FC), 26

A disciplined holding midfielder who gives Sernet its backbone. Dottman wins the ball, cycles possession quickly, and anchors the entire system. Not flashy, just essential.
Origins: Setelendisen

7) Wasori Oluwawa - Forward (Stronghold Sernetesen FC), 20

Fast, furious, hungry. Oluwawa is a counterattacking weapon who loves driving straight at defenders. Still very young, but already among the most exciting attacking talents in the entire Metrostocracy.
Origins: Born in Lofnolmesen, moved to Salifermis (Sernetesen)

10) Sporius Bolsting - Forward, Captain (Stronghold Sernetesen FC), 26

The heartbeat of the Steamers. Bolsting is a relentless goalscorer, creative link-man, inspirational leader and emotional compass rolled into one. When Sernet needs a spark, a shove, a rallying cry, it comes from him.
Origins: Sporislau, Sernetesen

I will try to put together more bios soon.

Note:
There are no women in the team staff purely by coincidence, not due to any gender discrimination rules. This is men's football after all, and in Sernet, women tend to prefer working in women's football. However, you do occasionally get female referees or first aiders.

NS World Cup 102

Sernet performed excellently in the 101st edition of the World Cup, qualifying for the World Cup Proper in only our second attempt at qualification. The Group stage was extremely tough however, and Sernet was eliminated with only a single point on the table. Not to worry however, even qualifying for the multiverse's most prestigious football tournament is an achievement in itself. Afterwards, following the highly successful Sernet Friendly Series, Sernet went on to the less successful IAC26, where they were knocked out in the Round of 32. The Steamers then went on to achieve second place at the Eternal Championship I in Serdtgyu, just barely falling short in the final. Sernet now comes into its third NS World Cup, alongside three Urseomite nations (one of which, Vrasilistan, being in the same group) ready to put on an excellent performance.

Sernet is a large nation famous for its extensive rail network and our skyscrapers and tower blocks. Capital city: Sernetesen. Sernet is a space-capable state and maintains a network of terriories, but we're not your traditional earth-based empire (we are very benevolent). The nation is rich in history and culture and is extremely patriotic.
Mostly modern tech, except in some fields where we'd be PMT

Roster for World Cup 102
Style Modifier: -5

Nicknamed the Bulls, Audioslavia's national football team are renowned for being 'scrappy' and 'ugly' and 'downright cheats'. Here is a brief guide to the current team, and how to interact with them.

Henchmen
The guys there to be made to look silly by your star players and goalscorers.

Goalkeeper
The guy leaping through the air, flailing forlornly at the ball as it evades his grasp
Ruy Palma (25, GK, AC Izotz Zubia) Nicknamed “Hologram hands” by fans of his club, Audioslavia has a bit of a drought when it comes to keepers, especially now that Hein Helder has retired from international football. Palma is apparently the best we have on offer in that position now. Excellent form in qualifying for World Cup 101 gave way to shakier performances in the World Cup proper, where he kept just one clean sheet across seven games.

The Hammer-Thrower
A hammer-thrower is a big lumbering shit-house whose only strength is strength. This is the ugly villain your star player outmanoeuvres and outwits
João-Fernando Gostamuito (32, CB, Bombarralense)
João is a grunter. You can tell he's behind you because there's this endless torrent of guttural insults flying at you, occasionally accompanied by the dull thud of his knuckles hitting the ground. What Gostamuito lacks in intelligence, speed, agility, intelligence, personality, fair play and intelligence, he makes up for in the sheer size of his massive hands. He should have been a goalkeeper, but he's a centre half who hates foreigners. Sometimes grows his fingernails long and offers a free tattoo removal service to strikers while awaiting corner kicks. Can be made to look very silly indeed by any attacker with even a thimbleful of elan.

Angry defender who points and shouts when things go wrong
The guy who allocates the blame while your hero celebrates
Goran Yurán (26, CB, Hamiltonian Cambria [KSK])
Like Gostamuito, he constantly talks shit throughout the game. Unlike Gostamuito, he’s not made of ogre DNA. Nevertheless, Goran is one of nature’s natural arseholes. Scored a goal in the World Cup 99 final. Scored an own-goal in the World Cup 101 final. Neither was surprising.

Mr. Broken Ankles
The guy your winger leaves on his butt as he makes his way down the wing.
Gryff Gould (32, LB, Lion City FC [DAN])
A well-travelled player now at his fourth foreign club, Gould is a typical Audioslavian full-back in that he’s short, tenacious and seemingly once entered into a blood feud with the entire concept of ‘ankles of foreign wingers’. The only way to stop him stamping on your winger’s ankles is to be too fast for him to do so. In other words, if you can make ‘Mr. Broken Ankles’ refer to Gryff as he twists himself in a knot trying to chase your winger, you’re good.

The Violent Cheat
The guy who can’t help but give away free kicks and penalties
Koren Lorentzen (32, RB/CB, KT Itzalovalle)
Not a Ko-orenite despite the name, yet nevertheless likes defensive football, conlangs and art-rock. Koren isn’t particularly quick, and so has to slow down opponents in order to keep up. As such, he’s had his hands on the collars of more football shirts than a sweatshop seamstress.

Heroes
The guys finding just about enough time to create and convert chances in between appearing in adverts and checking their hair. Audioslavia play ‘on the counter’, which means we’re at our most effective when turning defence into attack.

Alarmingly fast wingback
This guy’s entire job is to sprint down the wing when counterattacking. Maybe he’s carrying the ball out of defence himself, maybe he’s appearing on the blindside to receive the ball in attack. Either way, he’s diminutive, annoying and ridiculously fast.
Jordi Parliament-Funkadelic (21, RB/RW, 1830 Cathair) Mother Earth is pregnant for the third time, for y'all have knocked her up. I have tasted the maggots in the mind of the universe. I was not offended. For I knew I had to rise above it all, or drown in my own shit. Gets in down the channels and likes to have a go at the full-back. Pronounce his name as if he’s French-Croatian. Scored the winning goal in the WC101 final, albeit accidentally.

Accursed Elbow Windmill
A forward player whose main job is to kick, spit, pinch, gouge, jab, knee, niggle and, as the name suggests, elbow your defenders as hard as possible without the referee seeing. The resulting diminished stamina and morale bar can be taken advantage of by the other forwards.
Denzel Keegan (32, AM, Waiakea Warriors [DAN])
A master of the dark arts. Known to grow his nails long on his pinching fingers. Once gave a striker a monkey scrub while waiting for a corner and somehow earned a free-kick himself for his trouble. When you see him for the first time, you think he’s angry. Then, you realise he has that thing wherein his forehead is naturally wrinkled in such a way that it looks like he has a permanent scowl. Finally, you realise that no, you were right the first time, this guy is perpetually furious.

Captain Hollywood
The Hollywood Pass is a long, curling ball, ideally hit with the outside of the player’s weaker foot, whose entire purpose is to make onlookers go ‘oh gosh what a great pass’. If the pass ends in a goalscoring opportunity, that’s a bonus.
Moses Marques (20, AM, AC Izotz Zubia)
Marques has one foot. His left foot. That’s it. The right one is for standing on while he does crazy things with his left foot. He’s all trivelas and rabonas and tracking back to get on his left foot. Seriously he might just have a landmine on the instep of his right boot, that’s the only way to account for how one-footed he is. Very good with his left though, got to give that to him.

The Geometrist
Captain Hollywood’s nerdy sidekick, the geometrist’s job is to play a perfectly weighted five-yard pass along the ground into exactly the perfect position for a team-mate to take a shot. If Captain Hollywood spends his entire life in the middle of the pitch looking in every direction for a long, curling pass, The Geometrist is found on the edge of the penalty area, looking for a way to play a delicate pass along the ground to a destination nobody but the striker expects.
Cam Hooper (27, AM, Shamrock Cathair)
A bald wizard, he seems to be able to create space on a pitch just by shifting his weight from one side to the other. Cam lets his football do the talking, which everyone who’s heard his accent is grateful for. Has one of those unfortunate resting fly-catcher faces and, as such, tends to dribble while he dribbles.

The Blunderbus
Big lad. Make goal with head. Kick footballs hard. No conjugate verbs.
Jan Poulsson (25, CF, Oljestaden IF)
It’s not fair that he’s been asked to replace the retiring Kjartan Lúnquerque. Lúnquerque is a beast who won two world cups. Poulsson is a tall training cone. Good in the air, garbage everywhere else.

Extras
For the sake of completionism. Or, in other words: A team should probably have eleven players in it, and some subs to boot.

The Water Carrier
Take ball from henchman, give to hero.
Rayo Forster (22, DM, AC Izotz Zubia. Barely 5’6, bundles of energy, could get booked for shirt-pulling in a skins vs shirts match. Another in a long line of annoying high-energy low-talent Audioslavian DMs. Passes the ball sideways a lot. Likes to have the occasional shot from 35 yards but has yet to score one.

Substitutes
This isn't all the available substitutes, just a selection of players from the rest of the squad.
Churrasco (22, GK, CF Daineri) Another one.
Rory Riou (21, CB, 1830 Cathair) Too young to be lumbered with the derogatory nickname of ‘hammer thrower’, at 5’8 much too short to be a hammer thrower, and so pundits are trying their damnedest to say something about else about Rory. The best they’ve got is that he excels in mallet casting, cudgel chucking and gavel heaving.
Wynn De Vos (23, CB/RB, Oljestaden IF) Injury sub. Boring even by the standards of a second choice right-back.
Serigne Convery (17, AM/RF, Cazadores Cathair) - People have been whispering about Convery since he joined Caza's youth setup. Short of stature and without much in the way of physical traits, as yet, but sublime on the ball. Gives the impression he could deal with a chicxulub meteor strike by bringing it down with his left foot and curling it down the channel with his right in one swift movement.
Leandro Róbison (32, AM, KT Itzalovalle) Injury sub. When he’s about to come onto the field, one of your mates goes ‘oh god not this guy’ and your other mate goes ‘this guy’s awesome just you wait and see’ and then he just does nothing.
Tremolo Cortis (20, CF, 1830 Cathair) To be used as a last resort when losing.

About Audioslavia

Formed in December 2002, Audioslavia is one of the oldest nations on NS. An entrant into World Cup 4, it's also one of the oldest football teams in existence.

The side are famed for losing finals, having lost the finals of editions 12, 19, 20, 29, 67, 69 and 76. There have been some bright spots on the way, though. We won World Cups 63 and 64, somehow won World Cup 99, and are somehow the reigning champions having won World Cup 101
In addition to these three World Cup titles, the side have won five regional championships (4x AOCAF Cup, 1x CAFA Cup), a Cup of Harmony and a Baptism of Fire trophy. We're one of only five sides to have won the 'Grand Slam' of all three WCC titles plus a regional, and we're the only side to have finished in all three medal positions in all possible major senior tournaments.

Style of Play
Post Football is the name given to Audioslavia's style of play. It's based on the idea that, the less the game resembles football, the more ill at ease your opponents will be. Audioslavia play dirty, sideways and overly cautiously.
Kontrapuntzeka is another word for Audioslavia's style of play. Literally meaning counter-attacking, Audioslavia's national team are comfortable playing without the ball and charging forward in numbers when they do finally get it. Each player on this team has a deep understanding of how, when and where to attack on the counter. Losing the ball and allowing the Bulls to hit you on the break has been fatal to many a top ten team throughout history.
Our footballers tend to be on the shorter, leaner side, with everyone outside of the goalie, centre forward and centre half topping out at about 5'10.
Audioslavian footballers are often tenacious, with the highest levels of stamina you'll see in world football. Audioslavian sides are often capable of playing at a high-tempo for long periods of time, and wins are often through attrition rather than skill.
Audioslavian teams are notorious for gamesmanship - the bending of the rules in order to gain an advantage. Players will taunt, feign injury, surround the referee, basically anything if it seems like it'd be beneficial. Audioslavians feel no shame in this. As far as they're concerned, their willingness to go further than the other team is a sign that they're more dedicated than their opponents might be. What might be considered dishonourable behaviour for you might be considered normal in Audioslavia.
Audioslavian teams fear losing. It's our greatest weakness and, given how this fear manifests itself in big games, a powerful irony
As well as lacking a bit of raw power, Audioslavian footballers often lack technique compared to their foreign counterparts. Nobody in the team is stationary and expecting a pass to feet. Passes are played into roughly the space the player will be sprinting into. When the side are countering, it's all speed-speed-speed.
Above all else though, what Audioslavian national teams often lack is heart. The worse things are going, the worse Audioslavians play. They're the classic bully. When things don't pan out as they expect, they retreat physically and mentally.

The Manager
Former Cazadores Cathair manager Salvador Monterroso became semi-famous a while ago as a player for being one of the many stars of hit documentary A Tale of Two Cathairs. Monterroso spent almost all his career at Cazadores Cathair, if not always in the actual first eleven. A limited player, he'd temporarily move abroad to FC Capri later in his career, but would eventually return to finish his career at Caza. After going into management with Union Cathair, he eventually earned a job as manager back at Cazadores and would lead them to two league titles.

With two World Cup trophies to his name, Salvador is unquestionably one of the greatest Audioslavian managers of all time.

Stadium
The Beltzarga in Glassbridge, Cathair, is a modern but monstrous stadium. As square as a brutalist rubix cube, but made of glass from the outside, it' would make a beautiful modern art museum but a slightly annoying stadium. For every brand new spangly thing it has, there are two bewildering design decisions that make such a thing redundant. Like, sure, the commentators all have a big touch-screen each in front of them, but good luck getting them to work in inclement weather, and the seats are so uncomfortable you'll have cut off your blood supply to your legs by half time.

Roster

Staff
Agustin Lao
Manager | 54 | Jaliserran

Agustin Lao managed Dabaw City FC for two years, then Forteza Ultimate for six years until he was 50. Though this is his first year managing a national team, he's not afraid to show what he's got. Lao often tells his Diamonds to have fun and actually enjoy the international experience.

Mateo Malaluan
Assistant Manager | 45 | Jaliserran

Mateo Malaluan used to play for Grand Forteza in the Ace League from when he was 19 until he left at 26. He spent the next six years playing for Payapa United, then left. At 37, Malaluan was managing the U18 Payapa team and then Kapalon City at 42 (the latter of which he still manages).

Alessandro Russo
Goalkeeping Coach | 47 | Rianderan

Alessandro Russo used to be a goalkeeper himself. He played for Pantai Emas FC until he was 23, then switched to Real Langkamata, where he would stay until his retirement at 29. Russo started coaching at 35, became the goalkeeping coach for Riandera at 44, then switched to Jaliserra.

Dantopian Men's National Football Team
Team Roster | Manager & Tactics | Uniforms | Stadium | Permissions

The Oceanic Paradise of Dantopia is an island nation located in the South Pacific. Dantopia boasts an idyllic tropical landscape, many clean and modern metropolitan areas, a vibrant and bustling tourism industry, along with major contributions from tech, financial services and retail. The Dantopian men's national football team represents the nation in senior international football. Their inaugural appearance in the South Pacific Cup saw 'the Lions' — as they are sometimes known — winning the competition. From there Dantopia participated in the Baptism of Fire 81 and have competed in a several World Cup cycles now. Their most recent run for World Cup 101 saw them qualify for the World Cup finals and even reach the Round of 16, which is Dantopia's highest ever finish to date. Qualification for World Cup 102 is therefore the goal once again.

Team Roster

Thirty-five players have been named for the World Cup 102 qualifying campaign. Manager Rick Bishop will have this pool to choose from for all the fixtures in Dantopia's qualifying group. Below is a table of the players called up for international duty, as well as individual profiles for each of the players below that, categorised by position...

BOLD indicates likely main starter

Alex Bullvale
Position(s): Goalkeeper | Age: 36 | Height: 191cm (6'3'') | Weight: 77kg (170 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Right | Club: Kyethas Rivermen FC (Image Tikariot) | Play style: Ball-Playing Keeper | cica.da: @alex.bullvale
International Caps: 36 | Goals: 0 | Assists: 0 | Clean Sheets: 12 | Awards: South Pacific Cup (x1)
Bullvale has spent the past nine years in Tikariot's top flight with the Rivermen. His composure, and ability to play out from the back are matched by his impressive reach to keep out efforts seemingly destined for the top corners. He is by far Dantopia's most qualified goalkeeper and will likely maintain the number one spot, thanks to his tremendous experience.
Winston Akana
Position(s): Goalkeeper | Age: 30 | Height: 190cm (6'3'') | Weight: 91kg (201 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Right | Club: Vna-Chuhul Ravens FC (Image Tikariot) | Play style: Sweeper Keeper | cica.da: @winst1.akana
International Caps: 9 | Goals: 0 | Assists: 0 | Clean Sheets: 4 | Awards: None
Akana was Lion City FC's first choice for many years before making the switch to the Vna-Chuhul Ravens a few years back. The Dantopian-Tumbran dual-national is a more aggressive sweeper keeper, who likes to support his team with long and direct, quarter-back like, long balls from his box. He will more than likely serve as Alex Bullvale's deputy in the qualifiers.
Rigobert Moses
Position(s): Goalkeeper | Age: 27 | Height: 192cm (6'4'') | Weight: 92kg (203 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Right | Club: Mafumu Chiefs (Image Biyambi) | Play style: Sweeper Keeper | cica.da: @rigobert.moses
International Caps: 2 | Goals: 0 | Assists: 0 | Clean Sheets: 1 | Awards: None
Moses is another more unorthodox goalkeeper in a similar mould to Winston Akana, and is a product of the Dartford City academy. His eagerness to rush off his line, whilst an asset in most instances, can sometimes be his undoing, mostly due to over-enthusiasm. He is however, a capable shot-stopper, and is the youngest of the goalkeeping cohort in this qualifying run.
Noa Kalani
Position(s): Goalkeeper | Age: 28 | Height: 187cm (6'2'') | Weight: 84kg (185 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Left | Club: Dartford Oilers (Image Dantopia) | Play style: Ball-Playing Keeper | cica.da: @noa.ka1ani
International Caps: 0 | Goals: 0 | Assists: 0 | Clean Sheets: 0 | Awards: None
Kalani recently moved to the Dartford Oilers to serve as back-up to Tikariotian number one Kenneth O'Mara. However, Kalani previously established himself as a capable shot stopper with the Rockport Ravens, even helping them win the DFA Cup a number of seasons ago. He is a modern, ball-playing goalkeeper, though it is unlikely he sees much time for the national team this cycle.

Dalton O'Higgins
Position(s): Right Back / Left Back | Age: 28 | Height: 193cm (6'4'') | Weight: 77kg (170 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Right | Club: Dartford Oilers (Image Dantopia) | Play style: Wing Back / Inverted Wing Back | cica.da: @dalton.o.higgins
International Caps: 22 | Goals: 2 | Assists: 2 | Clean Sheets: 4 | Awards: None
O'Higgins is an offensively minded wing-back, and can play on either flank equally well. He is tall and strong and quick, and breezes past his opposition to provide crosses into the box with either foot. He has traditionally played as a left back for the Dartford Oilers, but will serve as the main right back for the national team in the World Cup 101 qualifiers.
DeAnthony Moorhouse
Position(s): Right Back | Age: 28 | Height: 181cm (5'11'') | Weight: 84kg (185 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Right | Club: Waiakea Warriors (Image Dantopia) | Play style: Wing Back | cica.da: @de.anthony.moorhouse
International Caps: 4 | Goals: 0 | Assists: 0 | Clean Sheets: 2 | Awards: None
Moorhouse, in contrast to Lacroix, is a more one-sided, but defensively solid wing back. He still loves to bomb forward, and is one of the fastest full backs in Dantopian football at least, possessing blistering pace when at full tilt. His crosses can be hit and miss, however, with the defender occasionally applying too much power and sending them well over the box.
Raphael Lacroix
Position(s): Right Back / Left Back | Age: 31 | Height: 183cm (6'0'') | Weight: 72kg (159 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Right | Club: Dartford Oilers (Image Dantopia) | Play style: Wing Back | cica.da: @raph.la.croix
International Caps: 20 | Goals: 0 | Assists: 1 | Clean Sheets: 5 | Awards: None
Lacroix is a versatile wing-back, able to play on either flank equally effectively, though he has certainly played most of his football on the right hand side with Dantopia's top flight reigning champions, the Dartford Oilers. He possesses quick acceleration and is also a good crosser of the ball, though he isn't the greatest one-on-one defender all the time.
Sam Robinson-Tate
Position(s): Centre Back / Right Back | Age: 26 | Height: 188cm (6'2'') | Weight: 77kg (170 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Right | Club: Hondo FC (Image Valanora) | Play style: Covering Defender / Inside Full Back | cica.da: @s.r.t.22
International Caps: 26 | Goals: 1 | Assists: 1 | Clean Sheets: 6 | Awards: None
Robinson-Tate made the switch to the Vanorian Premiership with Hondo FC a number of years ago, helping Hondo FC lift the Vanorian premiership this past season. His Farf partner at the back, Ügüs Hâx, is the more risk-taking of the pair, with Robinson-Tate acting as the cover. His versatility in playing anywhere along the back line will be paramount for the Dantopian defence.
Emerson Cromwell
Position(s): Centre Back | Age: 30 | Height: 188cm (6'2'') | Weight: 80kg (176 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Right | Club: Chester Chiefs (Image Dantopia) | Play style: Ball-Playing Defender | cica.da: @emerson.cromwell
International Caps: 22 | Goals: 0 | Assists: 0 | Clean Sheets: 7 | Awards: None
Cromwell is a Dantopian-Tikariotian dual-national, and an incredibly intelligent and insightful defender. What he may lack in physical profile compared to the likes of Cruz-Richards and Foster, he more than makes up for with recovery speed, solid fundamentals, and excellent ball-playing ability. He has enjoyed a stint of fine form back in Dantopia with the Chester Chiefs.
Makaio Cruz-Richards
Position(s): Centre Back | Age: 27 | Height: 194cm (6'4'') | Weight: 89kg (196 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Right | Club: Dartford Oilers (Image Dantopia) | Play style: Ball-Playing Defender / Non-Nonsense Defender | cica.da: @makaio.cr
International Caps: 23 | Goals: 0 | Assists: 0 | Clean Sheets: 7 | Awards: None
Cruz-Richards is a key physical specimen for the Dantopians, and was a big part of the Dartford Oilers championship run last year. His 6'4" frame means he is able to contribute aerially from corners and other set-pieces. He offers a more traditional, no-nonsense approach to defending, but is also very capable with the ball at his feet, able to play long passes over the top.
Keegan Foster
Position(s): Centre Back | Age: 29 | Height: 192cm (6'4'') | Weight: 85kg (187 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Left | Club: Portland Pirates (Image Dantopia) | Play style: Covering Defender / No-Nonsense Defender | cica.da: @keegan.foster
International Caps: 36 | Goals: 2 | Assists: 1 | Clean Sheets: 10 | Awards: None
Foster is a Dantopian-Tikariotion dual-national who long plied his trade in the TPL as an imposing, aerially dominant centre back before recently switching to the Portland Pirates. His ability to win aerial duals is a particularly valuable asset in the Dantopian defensive line, especially when paired with more ground dual-oriented partners such as Cromwell or Robinson-Tate.
Maleko Kershaw-Vale
Position(s): Centre Back | Age: 19 | Height: 188cm (6'2'') | Weight: 81kg (179 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Right | Club: Crimsonhawke FC (Image Tikariot) | Play style: Ball-Playing Defender | cica.da: @maleko.kv
International Caps: 0 | Goals: 0 | Assists: 0 | Clean Sheets: 0 | Awards: Di Bradini Cup 62 (x1)
Kershaw-Vale has quickly emerged as a young centre-back of the future in the Tikariotian premier league, recently moving to Crimsonhawke FC, where he hopes to break through into the first team. He also helped the under-21 Dantopian national team win their first ever Di Bradini Cup on their first time of asking, an impressive list of achievements already for the 19-year-old.
Tyson Taylor
Position(s): Centre Back | Age: 22 | Height: 182cm (6'0'') | Weight: 76kg (168 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Left | Club: Apollo FC (Image Dantopia) | Play style: Covering Defender / Ball-Playing Defender | cica.da: @ty.taylor
International Caps: 8 | Goals: 0 | Assists: 0 | Clean Sheets: 4 | Awards: None
Taylor made the transfer away from his boyhood club, the Shoreline Sharks, to join Apollo FC a few seasons ago. He has picked up many valuable lessons riding the bench for the national team in the last World Cup qualifiers. His left footedness is a very helpful asset, but it is unlikely he or Kershaw-Vale see prolongues minutes ahead of the other more experienced defenders.
Kaleb Kahananui
Position(s): Left Back | Age: 22 | Height: 178cm (5'10'') | Weight: 72kg (159 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Left | Club: SC Rinaldi (Image Valanora) | Play style: Wing Back / Inverted Wing Back | cica.da: @kaleb.kahananui
International Caps: 37 | Goals: 2 | Assists: 2 | Clean Sheets: 11 | Awards: None
Kahananui is a flexible and multi-skilled left back, with excellent fundamentals. He joined the Vna-Chuhul Ravens in Tikariot from the Grenadiers academy, before recently moving to SC Rinaldi in Valanora this past off-season. He is incredibly versatile, and has cemented himself as the national team's primary left back in recent World Cups. The same will be true this time too.
Billy Boateng
Position(s): Left Back | Age: 21 | Height: 180cm (5'11'') | Weight: 70kg (154 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Left | Club: Portland Pirates (Image Dantopia) | Play style: Wing Back | cica.da: @b.boateng
International Caps: 0 | Goals: 0 | Assists: 0 | Clean Sheets: 0 | Awards: Di Bradini Cup 62 (x1)
Boateng thrusted himself into the starting line-up at the Portland Pirates last season, unseating an established veteran in Dwight Krol. He is also just off the back of winning the Di Bradini Cup with the under-21 national team, so is raring to go in this world cup cycle for the senior national team, though he is still firmly behind Kaleb Kahananui for the time being.
Dwight Krol
Position(s): Left Back / Centre Back | Age: 30 | Height: 185cm (6'1'') | Weight: 80kg (176 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Left | Club: CA Paulinthal (Image Pasarga) | Play style: Wing Back / Wide Centre Back | cica.da: @dwight.kroll
International Caps: 17 | Goals: 0 | Assists: 1 | Clean Sheets: 3 | Awards: None
Krol was used interchangeably as a left-back or left-sided centre-back early in his career with the Portland Pirates, but has established himself as a proper wing-back back, able to provide quality balls into the box. The Tumbran-born Kroll has now moved to CA Paulinthal in Pasarga, after having been replaced by Billy Boateng in the starting line-up in Portland.

Kai Watanabe
Position(s): Defensive Midfielder / Central Midfielder | Age: 28 | Height: 178cm (5'10'') | Weight: 77kg (170 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Left | Club: Portland Pirates (Image Dantopia) | Play style: Ball-Winning Midfielder / Anchor Man | cica.da: @kai.watanabe
International Caps: 29 | Goals: 1 | Assists: 0 | Awards: None
Watanabe is a true workhorse of a midfielder. He is sometimes described as having the legs and lungs of three men, and will work tirelessly to win the ball back for his team. With his incredible engine being his obvious upside, he is sometimes criticised for being a more limited ball progressor, though he very rarely loses the ball, as he prefers to keep his passes simple.
Beau Bonds
Position(s): Defensive Midfielder / Central Midfielder | Age: 20 | Height: 172cm (5'8'') | Weight: 64kg (141 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Right | Club: Dartford City (Image Dantopia) | Play style: Deep-Lying Playmaker / Regista | cica.da: @beau.bonds
International Caps: 0 | Goals: 0 | Assists: 0 | Awards: Di Bradini Cup 62 (x1)
Bonds has quickly become an important part of the Dartford City team, and helped successfully guide the under-21 national team to its first Di Bradini Cup win. He is diminutive but highly skilled, with excellent vision for both long and short passes. Bonds is a player who effortlessly keeps the ball flowing, but can lack a more physical profile in the middle of the park.
Ezra Cunningham
Position(s): Central Midfielder / Defensive Midfielder | Age: 32 | Height: 186cm (6'1'') | Weight: 75kg (165 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Right | Club: Club ESF (Image Valanora) | Play style: Box-to-Box Midfielder | cica.da: @ezra.cunningham
International Caps: 79 | Goals: 18 | Assists: 11 | Awards: South Pacific Cup (x1)
Cunningham holds the most caps for the Dantopian national team, having broken through at the tender age of 18 in the South Pacific Cup run 12 seasons ago now. A complete midfielder, and a jack of all trades in many respects, Cunningham moved to Valanora to play for Club ESF many seasons ago, and has been a mainstay there. He will serve as the national team captain.
Bradley Bing
Position(s): Central Midfielder / Attacking Midfielder | Age: 21 | Height: 193cm (6'4'') | Weight: 88kg (194 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Right | Club: Portland Pirates (Image Dantopia) | Play style: Box-to-Box Midfielder / Shadow Striker | cica.da: @bradley.bing
International Caps: 14 | Goals: 2 | Assists: 1 | Awards: Di Bradini Cup 62 (x1)
Bing is the son of former national team defender Tyrell Bing, and came through at Team Valiant before making his big move to the Portland Pirates. He is a physical specimen and already specialises in third man runs, box crashing, and is an aerial threat. He recently captained the under 21 national team to their first Di Bradini Cup title, in their first ever run too.
Elleby Young
Position(s): Central Midfielder / Attacking Midfielder | Age: 24 | Height: 181cm (5'11'') | Weight: 80kg (176 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Left | Club: Stein-los Turkish (Image Pasarga) | Play style: Box-to-Box Playmaker / Advanced Playmaker | cica.da: @elleby.young
International Caps: 13 | Goals: 0 | Assists: 1 | Awards: None
Young is an agile, technical dribbler, who made the move to Stein-los Turkish in Pasarga a number of seasons ago, serving as deputy behind Pasargan international Sarika Weöres, whom he has been learning the more defensive and box-to-box sides of the game. He is being tapped as one of many future successors in the Dantopian midfield, though still needs to establish himself.
Sam Hughes
Position(s): Central Midfielder / Defensive Midfielder | Age: 25 | Height: 182cm (6'0'') | Weight: 78kg (172 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Right | Club: VV Szbedansk (Image Kanzlia) | Play style: Box-to-Box Midfielder / Roaming Playmaker | cica.da: @sam.16.hughes
International Caps: 5 | Goals: 1 | Assists: 0 | Awards: None
Hughes is a product of the Dartford Oilers academy, and is one of those players who just keeps things ticking along nicely. He isn't flashy, but he has a broad passing range and a good head on his shoulders. He typically always makes smart, risk-averse decisions. He recently moved to Kanzlian club VV Szbedansk to help establish his national team profile more.
Omari Opetaia
Position(s): Central Midfielder / Defensive Midfielder | Age: 30 | Height: 183cm (6'0'') | Weight: 75kg (165 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Right | Club: Waiakea Warriors (Image Dantopia) | Play style: Roaming Playmaker / Box-to-Box Midfielder | cica.da: @omari.opetaia
International Caps: 11 | Goals: 1 | Assists: 3 | Awards: None
Opetaia is another product of the Dartford Oilers academy, though transferred to the Waiakea Warriors many years ago, now serving as the team's vice-captain. His best asset is his vision for long balls, which he can whip towards forward players in a variety of ways, keeping opposition defenders guessing. He is also a diligent defender, and always tracks back to help his team.
Nehemiah Cunningham
Position(s): Central Midfielder / Defensive Midfielder | Age: 30 | Height: 191cm (6'3'') | Weight: 75kg (165 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Right | Club: Mafumu Chiefs (Image Biyambi) | Play style: Ball-Winning Midfielder | cica.da: @nehemiah.cunningham
International Caps: 11 | Goals: 0 | Assists: 0 | Awards: None
Cunningham is a more defensively minded midfielder than his older brother Ezra, preferring to hold the midfield shape and allow others the freedom to explore the spaces further up the field. He stayed true to his native Rockport Ravens for many years before finally making a switch to the Mafumu Chiefs in Biyambia, alongside Rigobert Moses, formerly of Dartford City.
Jeremiah Taramaia
Position(s): Attacking Midfielder / Left Winger | Age: 30 | Height: 177cm (5'10'') | Weight: 71kg (157 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Both | Club: Lion City FC (Image Dantopia) | Play style: Trequartista / Wide Playmaker | cica.da: @miah.maia
International Caps: 20 | Goals: 4 | Assists: 8 | Awards: None
Taramaia is an anomaly, an attacking midfielder who has always been seen as being better suited to playing out wide. His national team minutes typically came from the wing spots previously, but he may see more time in the centre of the park this time around. The Dantopian-Tumbran dual-national is an ambipedal, pass-first player, and is also handy from set-pieces.
Johnny Kealoha
Position(s): Attacking Midfielder / Central Midfielder | Age: 32 | Height: 175cm (5'9'') | Weight: 73kg (161 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Right | Club: Kyethas Rivermen FC (Image Tikariot) | Play style: Advanced Playmaker / Box-to-Box Playmaker | cica.da: @johnny.kealoha
International Caps: 41 | Goals: 7 | Assists: 24 | Awards: None
Kealoha is a classic number 10, and has been a crucial asset for the Rivermen in Tikariot’s top flight for many seasons. He is also a set-piece specialist, and when he's on the pitch, he will be on most of Dantopia’s corners and free kicks. With a number of other exciting midfield options, and father time creeping in, his minutes may be more limited in the qualifiers.
Clayton Thorpe
Position(s): Attacking Midfielder / Central Midfielder | Age: 19 | Height: 185cm (6'1'') | Weight: 77kg (170 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Right | Club: Knetyohai City FC (Image Chromatika) | Play style: Trequartista / Advanced Playmaker | cica.da: @clayton.thorpe
International Caps: 0 | Goals: 0 | Assists: 0 | Awards: Di Bradini Cup 62 (x1)
Another of the Di Bradini Cup winners who has made it into the senior national team picture, Clayton Thorpe has been developing his game at Knetyohai City in Chromatika. A natural trequartista who thrives in the space between the opposition defence and midfield, Thorpe is also capable from set-pieces, but has several senior players ahead of him on those for the time being.

Nico Hollins
Position(s): Right Winger | Age: 30 | Height: 180cm (5'11'') | Weight: 65kg (143 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Left | Club: Galatica (Image Pasarga) | Play style: Outlet Winger / Tracking Winger | cica.da: @nico.hollins
International Caps: 31 | Goals: 4 | Assists: 5 | Awards: None
Hollins is the final Dantopian-Tumbran dual-nationality player listed, and is known equally for both his attacking and defensive work. He loves to beat offside traps and get in behind slower defences, but also puts a shift in defensively. His time at the Portland Pirates recently came to an end, when he accepted a big move to Galatica in Pasarga, where he hopes to impress.
Alexander Apeti
Position(s): Right Winger | Age: 21 | Height: 178cm (5'10'') | Weight: 78kg (172 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Left | Club: Mansandani Union PFC (Image Biyambi) | Play style: Inverted Winger / Outlet Winger | cica.da: @alex.apeti
International Caps: 4 | Goals: 0 | Assists: 0 | Awards: Di Bradini Cup 62 (x1)
Apeti is one of a number of young Dantopian players who moved to Biyambian club Mansandani Union PFC. He is a lightning quick winger who always looks to attack on the counter, and cut inside on his favoured left food. He has a wicked curled shot on him, and can also take set-pieces. He recently helped the under-21 national team lift their first ever Di Bradini Cup
Zeke Edwards
Position(s): Centre Forward | Age: 23 | Height: 193cm (6'4'') | Weight: 82kg (181 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Left | Club: Eolorent (Image Auprussia) | Play style: Target Forward | cica.da: @zeke.edwards
International Caps: 29 | Goals: 10 | Assists: 0 | Awards: None
Edwards is Dantopia's most expensive ever export, after moving to Eolorent in Auprussia. A more traditional target man in every sense, Edwards thrives on playing with his back to goal, utilising his strength and flicking the ball onto the faster forwards around him. He also has a knack for being in the right spot at the right time for any cut-backs or crosses into the box.
Bradini Brunson
Position(s): Centre Forward | Age: 30 | Height: 182cm (6'0'') | Weight: 75kg (165 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Right | Club: Lion City FC (Image Dantopia) | Play style: Complete Forward | cica.da: @bradini.9.brunson
International Caps: 40 | Goals: 27 | Assists: 3 | Awards: None
Brunson was named by his football-loving parents after legendary Starblaydian player Simeone Di Bradini, and whilst it may be impossible to ever live up to a name and reputation like that, he helped the national team reach the round of 16 in the last World Cup. He offers a very direct style of attack, and looks to stay on the shoulder of his defenders at all times.
Negan Nakoa
Position(s): Centre Forward | Age: 22 | Height: 183cm (6'0'') | Weight: 77kg (170 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Right | Club: Lion City FC (Image Dantopia) | Play style: Advanced Forward | cica.da: @negan.nakoa
International Caps: 4 | Goals: 0 | Assists: 0 | Awards: None
Nakoa was a graduate of the Chester Chiefs academy, but proved his worth at San Vanipola FC before making his way to Lion City FC, where he serves as the deputy behind Bradini Brunson. He is a classic poacher, who thrives on his instincts in the box to get on the end of crosses and cut-backs. He is firmly behind both Edwards and Brunson in the pecking order, however.
Leandro Payne
Position(s): Left Winger / Right Winger | Age: 19 | Height: 180cm (5'11'') | Weight: 78kg (172 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Right | Club: Pontmeosont (Image Auprussia) | Play style: Inverted Winger / Outlet Winger | cica.da: @leandro.payne
International Caps: 0 | Goals: 0 | Assists: 0 | Awards: Di Bradini Cup 62 (x1)
The last of the Di Bradini Cup winning squad, Leandro Payne is a superstar in the making. After bagging a hat-trick in the final against Aphrilia, and making waves at Pontmeosont in Auprussia, he seems ready to take his game to the next level, and could very well emerge as a key starter for the senior team quickly. His thrilling pace is matched by terrific technical ability.
Maverick Johnson
Position(s): Left Winger | Age: 32 | Height: 173cm (5'8'') | Weight: 67kg (148 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Right | Club: Armada Kotr (Image Kanzlia) | Play style: Outlet Winger / Inverted Winger | cica.da: @maverick.j
International Caps: 19 | Goals: 1 | Assists: 2 | Awards: None
Maverick by name and by nature, there is rarely a dull moment when following the life and career of Maverick Johnson. His big money move to Lion City FC didn't work out, but he has proved his worth at recent Kanzlian champions Armada Kotr, where he is both an inspiration to his own fans and an irritant to the rest of the league. He is a known rage-baiter on the pitch.
Zaïre Thomas
Position(s): Left Winger | Age: 22 | Height: 185cm (6'1'') | Weight: 80kg (176 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Right | Club: Dartford Oilers (Image Dantopia) | Play style: Inverted Winger / Outlet Winger | cica.da: @zaiire.thomas
International Caps: 14 | Goals: 2 | Assists: 0 | Awards: None
Thomas has seen a meteoric rise at club level, from being an academy graduate to a key starter in a star-studded squad. The Dartford Oilers always love to promote from their own ranks, and Thomas is a quiet and humble young man, who likes to let his football do the talking. He is really good at manouvering past his opponents with his quick reflexes and sharp feet.

Manager & Tactics

Rick Bishop assumed the role of national team manager four years ago, before the beginning of the World Cup 100 qualifying campaign. The former national team back-up goalkeeper followed in the footsteps of Harold Northgate, who successfully led the Lions to the South Pacific Cup championship. Bishop's squad narrowly failed to qualify for World Cup 100, but successfully reached the finals in World Cup 101, eventually falling at the Round of 16. With an initial 35-man roster listed for the qualifying campaign, Bishop may look to experiment with his line-ups but has generally favoured a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 formation. Below is a profile of the national team manager, and a breakdown of his preferred tactics...

Style Mod: +1.5 +2.5 (change requested in this RP)

Styles of play:

Two distinct styles of play that the team regularly fluctuate between, and a strong emphasis on set-pieces

• In possession:
Structured; distinct patterns of play when building out from the back; emphasis on keeping possession of the ball; two advanced midfielders occupy gaps between the opposition midfield and defence; wingers use entire width of the pitch to stretch opposition defence; moderately high defensive line to push up the pitch, putting pressure on the opposition and creating an offside trap
• In transition:
Fast and direct; forward players stay high up the pitch to provide outlets for long balls either from the back or from the midfield; emphasis on exploiting the pace of forward players to attack the defence; focus on outside to in as the point of attack; late runs into the box from the two advanced midfielders; rest defence don't advance and provide structure in case of losing possession
• Set pieces:
Strong set-piece specialists in the team (J. Taramaia, J. Kealoha, C. Thorpe); a multitude of carefully orchestrated set-piece plays; good aerial threats (B. Bing, Z. Edwards, K. Foster, M. Cruz-Richards, D. O'Higgins); J. Taramaia or J. Kealoha generally take corners and free-kicks; Z. Edwards or B. Brunson generally take penalties.

The third strip is an all-black ensemble (with black shorts and black socks too). In the event of shorts and socks kit clashes in an away fixture, alternatively coloured shorts and socks are sometimes used (such as the navy home strip with navy shorts and red socks to avoid a clash with a team with white shorts etc.)

Qualifying Round Stadium

Bucking the trend of hosting qualifying matches across many different stadiums, the Dantopian national team have instead opted to host their home qualifying matches all at the National Team Stadium (NTS) in Lion City. This is merely a temporary measure for this World Cup cycle alone.

Rocky Kit remains the unquestioned #1, with 11 clean sheets for Eastern this season and excellent distribution from out the back. Not just a shot-stopper either, watch out for those long diagonals towards Okfafor or Nascimento. Chao Wai-Hou is a bit of a surprise to me. Taipa Lotus are relegation contenders, and usually aren't the type of team for call-ups to occur, however three penalty saves in the Bay Cup has put him in the spotlight. Whether he can live up to the hype remains to be seen. Lin Haoran has been called up for the previous 3 friendlies, however shaky outings in the past month - 5 goals conceded in 2 games could see him losing his spot soon.

Honestly, I don't get the inclusion of Kovačić. He's been slow all season, and reckless to boot - three red cards already and the season's not even over. 31 years old, and let's not sugarcoat it: he shouldn't be on the plane. Compare that to Ivanovic, who's been an absolute rock and leads the league in blocks. The other callups are fine - Webb, Brandt and Tsang are stalwarts in the team, and surely look to continue their run of 2 clean sheets in the past 2 friendlies. In terms of the youngsters, Wong Ka-lok, seems to be one to watch. He can waltz into the midfield and dribble past half the team, and looks like future captain material. He, along with Mendes and Zhou enjoy their first callups, and Mendes might be the quickest center-back Kowloon has ever produced...shame about his discipline though.

With a league-record streak of an assist in six consecutive games, surely Lee Chun-hei will be the figurehead of the team. He's on an absolute tear, pressing numbers never been higher and he has the most progressive passes out of all our players. Alongside him are Fernandez, Peretz and Fung Tsz-Long, which can pretty much reliably run the midfield in whatever way you need. Bold selections in Chao Weng-hou and Marco Choi, who although do have flair, and Chao having a respectable 5 goals for a relegation contender; have been thrust into a senior squad in quite the competition. Whether it's a diamond in the rough or a reckless pick will have to be determined.

What can I say about the Kowlooni attack? It's pretty good. Gabriel Nascimento is the star and the captain, thirty years old but plays like he's not a day over twenty, the top scorer of the national team and his league, 2x CSL Best Player. the accolades roll on. I've seen him score twice to recover from a losing position more times than I can count. Okafor, tearing it up in Estonia has forced his way into the team on his excellent end product, and the raw Choi Long-tin at just 21 is arguably the most exciting Kowlooni prospect this decade - sooner or later he'll be fighting with Nascimento for a spot in the first XI. Apart from that, however, things get a bit uncomfortable. Whitfield and Ruiz may have time left in their primes, but form doesn't lie, and both haven't been good in months - 1 and 0 G/A respectively. Hopefully this turns things around for them.
~Vicky Fong, CONNECT Sport

Manager:
The manager Chao Wing-Shun has spent two decades coaching across East Asia, from Shanghai Port to Shenzhen, and it's no coincidence that Shenzhen has the most players called up to the team. Before that, he was a successful youth coach for Eastern, and before that spent an unremarkable 9 years dictating the midfield for Accrington Stanley all the way in England. His style seems unfashionable, almost mundane, with patient posession, generally running a 3-4-3, excellent at defensive set pieces while offensive ones are more unstructured. Where he shines however is his man-management, with the rivalry of Pablo Ruiz and Rodrigo Silva basically nullified under his command. Let's hope he can do us proud in this Baptism of Fire.

Manager: Bishen Varadarajan. Formerly of Namiri Independent, who (at the time of his hiring) were the newest contender among the "best clubs not named Ephesian." While this aproach is likely to promote better team cohesion (and obedience to the laws of the game) than the alternative, it is unclear whether it is actually a recipe for success. Varadarajan seems to be vaguely envious of baseball's advanced statistics, and tries to rip off advanced sizbermetric projections for football purposes, to mixed results.

Thanks to Ko-oren for the three-trait summary approach.

Goalkeepers:
1. Tinn Jejue (FTC United) (m) (first tournament: WC97 Q) cranky, babbles, hypochondriac
12. Frank Olmsted (Rovers United) (m) (first tournament: WC97 Q) absentminded, fidgety, makes easy plays hard
23. Silas Exordan (Keppal Cosmos) (m) (first tournament: WC100 Q) persistent, quiet, voluminous
24. Lorna Powys (Canbix Muses) (f) (first tournament: WC100 Q) cruel, insufferable, self-disciplined

Defenders:
2. Sohini Dravid (Namiri Independent) (f) (4 goals) (first tournament: WC97 Q) judgmental, contrarian, polyglot
3. Gretchen Lavenza (FTC United) (f) (2 goals) (first tournament: WC97 Q) flirtatious, selfless, injury-prone
4. Oriana Euchre-Smith (Rovers United) (f) (first tournament: WC101 Q) intelligent, paranoid, early riser
5. Diana Schell-Cioban (Excelsior Slogda) (f) (1 goal) (first tournament: WC97 Q, did not play WC101Q but back for CoH 93) fast, good at headers, camera-shy*
[Schell-Cioban will be unavailable for the qualifying stage due to an injury arc to be RPed. As such, Minerva Gerdt-Arbden replaces her in the nominal starting eleven, and Pyotr Albanov is part of the "regular" substitutes bench.]
13. Friedemann Rawls-Hutchins (FTC United) (m) (first tournament: WC101 Q) pacifist, good at headers, slow-paced
14. Minerva Gerdt-Arbden (Canbix Muses) (f) (1 goal) (first tournament: WC99 Q) sneaky, wiry, meticulous towards nutrition
15. Kachra Prabhu (Namiri Independent) (m) (1 goal) (first tournament: WC100 Q) physical, acclimatizes well, photogenic
16. Lobsang Pokhriyal (Namiri Forest) (m) (3 goals) (first tournament: WC98 Q) keen sense of timing, equinamous, don't-rock-the-boat
25. Pyotr Albanov (Excelsior Slogda) (m) (first tournament: WC102 Q) conservative, condescending, decisive

Midfielders:
6. Salinee Rhiannon (FTC United) (f) (3 goals) (first tournament: WC100 Q) gullible, holds grudges, flexible
7. Chloe Flen-Willis (Ephesian FC) (f) (14 goals) (first tournament: WC97 Q) tall, sociable, rule-bender
8. Arayha Praepan (FTC United) (f) (1 goal) (first tournament: WC101 Q) deliberate, timid, creature of habit
9. Narayan Thorlakson (Namiri Independent) (m) (6 goals) (first tournament: WC98 Q) fastidious, idiosyncratic, musical
10. Gabriel Istibar (FTC United) (m) (9 goals) (first tournament: WC97 Q) single-minded, aloof, history-minded [captain]
17. Perry Dupont-Bowles (Ephesian FC) (m) (3 goals) (first tournament: WC100 Q) indecisive, snarky, well-read
18. Luba Mogarych (Excelsior Slogda) (f) (2 goals) (first tournament: WC100 Q) loyal, charitable, apolitical
19. James MacKarness (Ephesian FC) (m) (first tournament: WC101 Q) superstitious, charismatic, ambitious
20. Dimitros Kalnis (Canbix Muses) (m) (2 goals) (first tournament: WC100 Q) hirsute, sentimental, injury-prone
21. Marie Schaumburg (Twineur Bugs) (f) (first tournament: WC102 Q) fussy, curious, sweet tooth

Forwards:
11. Brunnhilde Lavrans (Ephesian FC) (f) (34 goals) (first tournament: WC98 Q) bruiser, envious, loudmouthed

26. Gavin Berewic-Deng (Keppal Cosmos) (m) (first tournament: WC102 Q) romantic, short, thrives in poor weather

Numbers 1-11 are the most likely starting eleven, and 24-26 less likely to see playing time unless there are injuries, but do whatever. (See above footnote for Schell-Cioban and the defenders.)

If RPing first, please feel free to name goalscorers, injure, and distribute cards to my players at will! You can also godmod events, though I'd appreciate advance warning if you want to take narrative liberties that I couldn't just as easily do to your team (due to being, e.g., a mostly-MT, mostly-human country). Put another way, metaphorical "godmodding" is welcome if clever, but I'd avoid the literal sense. Also, do not cause lasting harm in my country and/or to my citizens without contacting me first.

"In the flames of sport, our iron will is forged"

About Yangchenia

Yangchenia, officially the Dragon Empress's Domain of Yangchenia, primarly located on two planets. It is an absolute monarchy and a theocracy, and is considered by some as Lacia's only necrocracy, as its laws are influenced by the decree of its first Empress Yangchen. Situated in the isolated northeastern continent of Msalka, it is bordered by the Queendom of Gesaria to it's West, the Altanul Nomadic Horde to it's southwest, the Voghulian State of Greatdux to it's east and the Khanate of Kungaria to it's south. Yangchenia is one of the least densely populated on Lacia, with a population at around 28,502,322 million people as of the 2024 census, despite having almost 2 million sqkm of land.

Despite being a small country, Yangchenia leads Lacia in the space race, with the country being one of the most advanced yet also very traditional. [2]The nation dedicated 10% of its annual budget to research, while a whopping 46% of the annual budget is allotted for Spirituality, as the nation is very religious, with the majority of the population adhering to the Yanginist Faith.

Yangchenia occupies around 2,000,000 sq km of land, mostly dominated by rugged mountains and hills, with large valleys and plateaus scattered all across the land. mostly composed of mountainous terrain to the South, with the rest of the country being dominated by snowy tundra. Yangchan, Yangchenia's Lacian Capital, is the northernmost capital on Lacia. The nation's history extends back milennia, dominated by religious texts by scholars of the ancient Yangini Dynasties. According to these religious texts, the nation's people began on another world, but was brought to Lacia after the world's descent into sin and destruction. These scriptures state that Yangini civilization began in the city of Yangchen.

The Guul-La Dynasty is the current rulers of Yangchenia and have continuously maintained power in some form for over 4000 years. Hoever the history of Yangchenia is also dominated by other clans and dynasties, most notably the clan of Tsedenbal and the Lao Family. Emerging over 5000 years ago, Yangchenia is one of Lacia's oldest nations, and home to many old civilizations.

Football in Yangchenia - the Blazing Dragons

Football as a sport is not that prevalent in Yangchenia, with the nation's most popular sport being different kinds of martial arts, from Kung Fu, Taekwondo, and even native martial arts such as Dailu - a form of martial art that involves rudimentary weapons such as sticks, slippers, and basically anything. However since the rise of globalization, and the popularity of football across Lacia, the sport has gradually begun entering Yangini sporting culture. The nation's first national football tournament was held in the 1960's shortly after the culmination of the Yangchenian Civil War - a time of great chaos in the nation. The Yangchenia Blazing Dragons was founded on 20 April 1969, by Weng Zhidao, as Yangchenia's national football team.

The majority of the Blazing Dragon's roster are former members of the military, due to old laws regarding military conscription, and those that have competed in martial arts competitions, the dominant sport in the country - as they are seen as one of the most physical and skilled people in Yangchenia at the sport. However, as of modern times, people who have been playing the sport since childhood are often rising stars within the Blazing Dragons.

Hu Winwei
(b. 29 November 1972)
Shandu (Xanadu), Xanadu Autonomous Sheshanate, Yangchenia

Hu Winwei is a former Yangini football player for the Blazing Dragons, joining the team in 1988 at the age of 16. Born in Xanadu as Huq Kugshan to a devout Kungarian family, Hu Winwei was born to the "Tyorghazy" caste of Kungarian society - slightly above the peasantry class but still below the middle caste. Kungarian society was extremely hierarchal. Kungars traditionally build their settlements on tall peaks at high elevation, as they believe that by living at higher elevation, they live closer to God. As a result, their cities are built vertically on high plateaus, with varying elevation. As a result, Kungarian society developed a unique hierarchical system, in which wealthy and noble families lived at higher elevation than poorer peasant people.

Born to the Tyorghazy, Hu Winwei lived in the lower levels of the city of Xanadu, living slightly below the great plateau that was the foundation of the city, however not deep underground where the peasants and prisoners live. Still, being from a lower caste Hu struggled to find opportunities to better his family condition, and at the age of 12 he left home for Raijugang in search of a better life - working as a doorman in Raijugang's many lavish casinos operated by the Rasavov Clique - descending from the Ya Dynasty that ruled the island as a slave colony.

There, he started playing football as a hobby after tireless work, playing with other children in the streets of Raijugang's outskirt city, Jugangwei. There he slowly honed his skills in the sport, until one day he decided to participate in the tryouts of the Blazing Dragons - Yangchenia's national team, in which he passed, and entered the team with the jersey number 08 - a lucky number in Yangini tradition. For the next thirty years - he would be a player of the Blazing Dragons, representing the country in many sports tournaments in Lacia, until becoming the team's head coach in 2018 following the death of the previous coach, Dao Xuanjing.

Memo from the Ministry of the interior regarding the goals of the Fynmarkian Football Association (FFA)

Ladies and Gentleman, the Baptism of fire is over and while many of our supporter celebrated our Nation reaching the Round of 16 for us this is only a small step.
Our goal must be the qualification for the world cup.
Our mission must be to show the world that Fynmark is more than your northern militaristic neighbor.
We must show them what a healthy body and a determined mind can achieve.

Goalkeepers

[1] ADAM ZIELINSKI (29 Years) Starter Keeper from Svalbard FK and national keeper for 10 years. The safe starter for the National Team. He is known for taunting opponent Players and Fans alike. However his performance in the last Years have made him a staple that could not replaced.

[12] Brynjar Neumann (23 years) The future hope for Fynmarks Goalposts. Right now he is captain of the second Division champion Kronan IK and was a staple in their near perfect season with 14 Wins by 18 matches. 9 of them with a clean sheet. He is a quite ambitious player who is rumored to be sold to a foreign club. Allthough the press is not happy about this rumours.

[18] Kristjan Berglund (36 years) This will be the last tourney for Kristjan, he knows it, everyone knows it. The former star keeper from Lindholm IF had been starter before Zielinski stole the glory. Now he is the substitute for the substitute. Only a miracle can give him one last tourney.

Defender

[2] JONAS SCHNEIDER (19 years) The rookie from Kronan IK, one of the best Right wingers in the national Leagues. 3 goals, 4 Asssists. He has 2 seaons for his record and his nomination was mostly posssible because of the Lindholm Season that resulted Promotion in the Premier Liga. His family has strong ties to the Royal Army of Fynmark which might have helped his nomination.

[13] Kaj Schnyder (25 years) Kaj is the budget starter for the right winger Position. However around 1 month ago he was replaced by Schneider. He is a bit frustrated and is rumored to be disloyal against coach Sigmund Krol.

[3] OSWALD CZAIKOWSKI (24 years) A stable starter for the last 2 years. He plays for Kronan IK and played all 18 games. Oswald is a former soldier of Royal Army of Finmark and became a player for the military club Goerdinglund BK before he switched to Kronan last year. He is a true patriot who is known for some... problematic interviews in the past. Still when the "Tank of Fynmark" is in front of you, giving up the ball might be the best option.

[4] THORBJØRN TRUMBAUER (29 years) The veteran of the defense. He is playing for Svalbard FK and like his Colleague Oswald not a pretty technician. His job is simple. Stopp the ball and the opponent too if needed. He has a large record of fouls and 14 red cards. Most of them given for good reason

[15] Tauras Byquist (19 years old) The substitute with 3 seaons played for Lindholm IF. He is the future of the Fynmark defense, a bit naive and posssible a transfer option this winter. He is not the typical defense Tank, instead he was raised with the concept of "future soccer" which prides itself of instructing a better technique and speed to the fynmarkian football. [14] Håkan Winkler (29) A veteran player coming from second divsision Svalbard Nordstjärna IF. He has some experience from the Premier Liga, however he refused to end his contract with Svalbard. He is a former ultra turned player when the team needed a new defender. With 1,90 metre and 90 kilo he is a classic "manstopper" of the fynmarkian defense.

[5] LAUGE SÖDERSTRÖM (23 years) Lauge is captain and star player of Fremad Vesthavn (5th place Premier Liga). He plays professsional soccer since he is 16 and he is more of a leader. Whenever you need a player to take action. He will probably do this. Originally a inner defense player he plays as a Left Winger in Krols System.

[16] Wolf Korhonnen (21 years) Another Kronen IK player, nominated because of Kronen Season. Allthough the defense was good, Korhonnen was only a average player but still best left winger of the second division.
Middfielder

[6] POUL KOPPEL (37 Years)
Some players are Tanks.
Koppel is the safe of Fynmark.
Reliable, secure, a wall where you will run into.
Defensive Middfielder and as old as the Fynmarkian Football Association.
[17] Marius Åkesson (26)
the more offensive version of Koppel, the more mobil version. He is a neutral middfielder, for Fynmarkian standards even a offensive middfielder. He played his first match against Austramar and assisted in the only goal in the 1-3 defeat. When Football is not a trench war this man will shine.
[7] OSKAR FELD (28 years)
Nicknamed the Genius, he is the true offensive midfielder in the squad. Mostly important for getting the ball into the opponents box where the Players like Vonnegut wait for him. Asssisted the first goal of the BoF season.
Trained abroad he is more about technique and finesse then the normal Fynmarkian player.
[18] Loke Nilsen (30 years)
Nicknamed "the hammer" is good in his job.
Stopping
the
Enemy
He has a large collection of yellow cards and is proud about it.
This man is your classical "you shall not pass" player. Every team should have one.

KARLO HERMANN (20 years)
The "Wonderkid" probably the brightest hope of the Fynmarkian squad. He comes from abroad and has a dual citizenship.
This alone made his nomination controversial. However he brings something that the Fynmarkian Sqad lacks.
Talent. Raw talent. He is not a diamond right now although he scored one of the two goals in the campaign.
His main weakness however is the fact that he questions the situation in north Fynmark openly. Something that stings within the military.
[19] Stig Haraldsson
Former starter before Hermann appeared.
A more conservative player for more offensive opponents, a classical contact player.
If you meet him he will make contact with you or the ball, possible with both.

[9] NICLAS JAKSEN (25 Years)
Nicknamed "The Knife" with a second nickname "the rebell" he and Söderström are constantly add odds.
Jaksen has a very modern, offensive interpretation of his role. He is fast, he is dangerous and he is prone to solo attacks. 2 of the three Goals conceived started from his right side.
However his moments of brilliance can turn the tight in close matches. Because of that he is still a starter however he will have to mature in this qualification.

[20] Pål Janson (24)
The generalist. He is a good midfielder however his biggest strength is that he can play each position in the middlefield. He is playing for the team not for the fame, whenever needed he will be there, not sspectacular but reliable. As the Fynmarkian system dictatet. One Team, one block, one wall.
Striker

[10] MATHIAS STURM (25 years)
The traditional Fynmarkian striker. Nicknamed "the tower" he is the man for the long balls. with 1,95 metre he is the Fynmarkian one man airforce and when he lands on the ground you should better make space or be crushed. For Kronmark IF this works rather well, international he had far less success so far.
[11] VIKTOR VONNEGUT (24 years)
Nicknamed " the spearhead" this man is considered a national hero since his goal shot Fynmark in the Round of 16. There are rumors that he is in a relationship with Crown Princess Amelia Vestergard (26). He is known to be a very social man with ~ 5 Million followers on MyFynmark.fy
[21] Leopold Specht
Another player from the next generation that will collect experience. Specht is another Target player from the same school Sturm hailed from. A danger in the air but prone to crash landings which might injure him or others who are unfortunate enough.
[22] Bjarte Berntsson (38)
He might have not the energy for 90 minutes but he is another of this second half jokers. Precise, deadly if he get the chance. A favourite for penalty kicks.
[23] Christen Knutson (25)
More midfielder then striker. He is a teamplayer, drawing the opponents with him so that others have the chance to score.
Few games played and a very situational player with unpredicted results if Krol gets desperate.
coach Sigmund Krol (42 years)
Captain AD Sigmund Krol . The Director of this squad. He is a taskmaster. A former Officer of the RFA. He is a more conservative coach that bets on teamplay, defense, concrete and more defense.
3 goals conceived in 4 games in the BoF speaks for him.
His authority over the team is not to be questioned. He is a very stoic man who seldom gives interviews.

Haakon Arena, Svalbard

The venue of the home games is the Haakon Arena in Svalbard.
60 000 seats (all standing) the stadium was build for accustic so that 60 000 feel like 100 000. The arena is a modern build for soccer only. The stands are real close to the Field. It lacks luxury ammendments safe for a undersoil heating that they need for the Winter Period (September to march.) The only seats are available in the royal box.

The ultras are known as the "bears" and they have this nickname for more than a reason.

Infos about Svalbard
The City of Svalbard is the capital and biggest city in Fynmark, a monument of liberal freedom the City is the hoax of Fynmark. Most tourists come here and they see a liberal paradise. Free Press and a lot more freedom then the typical Fynmarkian will have. Way less influence of the military then usual.
That is build on purpose, after all the Fynmarkian economy is build on export.

stadiums
Amahne - Stade sur la Baie (70000) - home to Aminey CS (and the Aminey Caspians, Aminey Buffaloes, and Aminey Owls).
The flagship stadium, huge production values, the works. Azure-coloured seating under canvas roofing. A beautiful circular stadium built in foreign Classical traditions.

Shemurdar - Orange Bowl (54000) - home to Shemurdar SVV (and the Schemerdrecht Admirals).
More associated perhaps with the Admirals than the SVV, but it's nearly always sold out venue for great crowds in any sport. A robust, somewhat boring square monster with little attention paid to its external looks.

Maethoru - Rikalathen Arena (39000) - home to Maethoru SC (and Mayara Wanderers-Vulpecula).
Close to the KFA's training grounds, at least it has that going for it. Crowds are a little quieter here than elsewhere. A pristine pitch with seating in a few shades of green matching the field, all seating covered.

Ethuweri - Stade Amandine (30000) - home to Tankwai AOE (and the Etouille Vultures).
Some amazing drone shots over a stadium, a city, and a crowd that knows what makes life fun. Extremely sponsor-friendly with its skybox layout, at the cost of the view of some nosebleeds.

Thelesra - Estádio Fortaleza (29000) - home to Midhela GD (and the Santa Teresa Sabres).
Made to be exactly 1000 seats larger than their rivals' stadium, the Fortaleza is the upper-class stadium. They tried to make it look old and well-used with a specific standing-only section, but even there the privilege is palpable.
OR
Thelesra - Estádio Marítimo (26000) - home to Banvon CD.
The working class stadium that is, in all facets, a bit inferior to the Fortaleza. Except the crowds. There's no better stadium for wild crowds. Plenty of standing-only areas, no cover, barely making it through inspections.

Monrama - Armskirk Municipal Ground (26000) - home to Monrama AFC.
The unlucky Maynard team have asked the KFA to have their stadium used by the national team - as the only southwestern stadium. The Armskirk isn't a bad stadium by all means, but some of the creative decisions in seating arrangements haven't paid off.

Katahshi - Suzumebachi Stadium (32700) - home to Katahshi-Kangatsu.
The biggest stadium in the east, Katahshi deserves a game. The fans will mostly just cheer for eastern players, though. It's a wonderfully modern and digital stadium - the first with screens going all around the place.

Garihnkatar - Golhampton Grounds (31000) - home to Igobahl Olympia.
Garihnkatar never had a big football culture, but that's changed, and the local Olympia have kept pace with the hype. Biggest city in the country, too. It feels like a much bigger stadium than it is, with plenty of options for later enlargement.

Ehbanna - Northern Arena (32000) - home to Gridiron's Aerellen Explosions.
The KFA wants some games geographically spread across the country, and so the cold, dark, and cold gridiron Northern Arena is on the list. The largely roofed stadium is partially dug in to prevent the Arena from dominating the skyline.

Alahrenna - Spider Stadium (27100) - home to Advance Alahrenna.
Eastern but not on the island Katahshi's on. Fans are used to seeing a lot of goals - which the Dragonflies don't do. The stadium has a lot of staggered mini-sections, make of that what you will.

Seterdahn - Hazel Arena (25400) - home to Seterdahn VV.
Biggest stadium in the northeast, as far as the mainland goes. Seterdahn's style matches the NT's style perfectly. Propped up by the massive (rich) IT sector. It's still sold out more often than not as one of the better stadium experiences out there.

Gilibehri - Uriagali Field (19500) - home to Tarrashalli AFC and Pride of Gillberra.
Biggest/only stadium on the west coast. Gilibehri has an amazing, flourishing sports culture and it's no longer completely ignored by the other 99% of the country. The stadium boasts an impressive view of the mountains.

Shock! Horror! New club names (Gehrennan ones instead of international ones. Straudum VV is now Seterdahn VV, among others)

goalkeepers
GK Goswijn Naaldemaker (31, M) - North Myrtle Beach AFC, MYR
GK Galorian Antair (27, M) - Maethoru SC
GK Byudull Cutarla (17, M) - Sorerla AFC

Naaldemaker has been upstaged by the hype around Cutarla but at 17 there's no Ko-orenite coach ballsy enough to start him. So that means that Naaldemaker gets at least one more year (or two) under the bar as the class of Ko-orenite goalkeeping. Don't get us wrong, Goswijn isn't bad at all - he's brilliant - but Byudull is making it impossible to ignore him. Antair makes it back to the roster after lengthy absence and is more a pick for penalty series, or against teams with quick attackers that like to run in behind - Galorian can clear the ball before they get to it.

defenders
RB Thalek Sehorenden (25, M) - Maethoru SC
CB Rachel Ngaikhin (19, F) - Seterdahn VV
CB Charley Mellowby (31, M) - Monrama AFC
CB Keiki Todaka (29, M) - Urrheddiao, CMT
LB Theklen Senothonnau (28, F) - Seterdahn VV

RB Sissigul Zulambee (28, M) - Seterdahn VV
CB Lei yGorllaeneal (30, M) - Dí Maozöxê, FFD
CB Conrat Loper (29, M) - Serrapince, TMB
CB Unotak Zhomodhen (27, M) - Midhela GD
LB Dwrwst yBons (28, M) - Shemurdar SVV

RB Folkert Nieuwboom (30, M) - New Volendam, KMJ
CB Adhehsuka Uhdazhohdhen (17, F) - Wright United Academy
CB Wolfart Timmerman (27, M) - Shemurdar SVV
CB Dornared Kambarudhen (24, M) - Lamikorohte-Abishu FC
LB Sanche Bassin (28, M) - Insin Gehrenna FC

Bassin is on the right, normally, but the depth among traditional rightbacks goes a bit further than on the left. And that's with Senothonnau being the best player in Ko-oren for the last few years - but behind her it's dire. The third stringers should not see a lot of playtime, or things will have gone horribly wrong. There are six fantastic centrebacks vying for a starting spot, we have two brilliant leftbacks, and four good-to-great rightbacks. That said, Uhdazhohdhen could be great for us given enough time, but again, you're not finding any Ko-orenite coach willing to put their job on the line with a choice for a 17-year old defender. On the other hand, Ngaikhin has earned the spot via good play at Seterdahn VV already. Mellowby has long been viewed as a 'ah right, he's exists' pick but quietly fought his way to the top of the pecking order, and Todaka has always been there. The victim of this is yGorllaeneal, who got bumped to the second string after Ngaikhin got unignorable.

midfielders
DM Hixinio Andrade (29, M) - Real Anasb, SAT
RM Bodim Sauzharegaunden (21, M) - Shemurdar SVV
CM Annefleur Nakasarudhen (25, F) - Aminey CS
LM Amand Mathey (28, M) - Galaxy SC, XAN

DM Olikek Azerhendhen (29, M) - Raynor City United, VAL
CM Maximilien Laminien (32, M) - Orchideeën, TAX
AM Annemijn Urwegun (22, F) - Sivolvia Capitalizt, SRS
AM Aohace Asibe (18, M) - Aerawa Academy FC

DM Ngjunei Meigun (26, M) - Chromatik, CMT
CM Raymond Uheregun (25, M) - Van Athletic, HNL
LM Ciriaco Laza (33, M) - Aminey CS
AM Fianne Vekodwizeden (21, F) - Mâ Âlâmëómë, FFD

No Entatingun. No double-CM playmaker/box-to-box duos. Quite a revolution on the midfield. Explaining what happened here might need more than a paragraph, but we'll see how far we get. So the starting four are Nakasarudhen (top 3 player on the team), Andrade (responsible with Azerhendhen and Meigun for the restoration of the glory of the defensive mid position), and two wingers. Yes, wingers, we're no longer confined to just the middle of the field with a diamond DM-CM-CM-AM configuration. No, it'll be more a 1-3 thing with one defensively minded midfielder and a wide stance with Sauzharegaunden and Mathey. Now Mathey is hardly a new name - though usually behind Laza in the roster - but Sauzharegaunden is the reason why the staff must reconsider that diamond. We simply have players on the wings that are too good to pass up, and they'll give Senothonnau someone to play off of on the left side, even if this will ask a lot more from Nakasarudhen as she'll be alone in the middle of the pitch. She'll have to move sideways rather than vertically to make plays happen, but the (offensive) potential is incredible. The risk is twofold: Nakasarudhen having to cover too much ground, and the midfield being overrun with two fewer players there (compared to a diamond), but we're sure that can be mitigated with the right instructions.

The backup unit is DM-CM-AM-AM (for a lack of winger depth) as we see a new flock of attacking mids popping up like we haven't seen in 20 years. Urwegun has been starting on the Dragonflies for a while, Asibe is new, and Vekodwizeden is seriously close to starting as well. The entire list, all twelve, are starting material and they're also quite different from one another. The trick is to find who can work with whom.

attackers
ST Toshitsugu Hiraide (28, M) - Soldarian FC, VAL
ST Nohel Zhekuhshen (17, M) - Amateur club
ST Memmandi Pyularra (18, M) - Tarrashalli AFC

Hiraide will be the obvious starter and he won't be fearing for his job any time soon.

style
We play post-football, a term coined during World Cup 89 to put words to a horrible semifinal between Audioslavia and the Dragonflies, which ended 0-0 after 120 minutes, then all but one penalty was scored in the ensuing series. Post-football means no singing. No cheering. No scoring. Post-football is sideways passes, looking like the same, repetitive movements for minutes on end, but with tiny variations that at some point will get to you. It could be a counterattack, or a shot from distance, or a set piece. Post-football doesn't care if it takes 90 or 120 minutes, or more. Under Juliasterinthen and Davenport, the Ko-orenites earned a reputation as the perfectly positioned, tactical-yet-mean defensive team. Containing, capitalising, exploiting. Patience and countering.

formation
It's usually a 5-4-1. Depending on the opponent, the wingbacks can push up either to bolster the midfield or even overlap and supply crosses into a finisher - if we have one - but they should be fine to sit back and wreak havoc on whatever flighty winger the other team tries to sacrifice. The midfield is often a bit of a loose unit, almost always with a strong passer in the middle but it could be three DMs and a CM, or even a completely lopsided formation with all four players on one side. The lone striker is a reliable finisher. There have been 5-5-0 sightings, for if our strikers just aren't good enough to supply structure and strength to the rest of the side.

The Republic of the United Marble Tribes's Football Association and National Team:

Marbleland Football Association (MFA) was first established in 1975, founded by Jonathan Curts and Jamie Oliver Donns. Its purpose is to bring up the spirit of football in Marblelanian culture.

Football has been around in Marbleland for centuries, first brought over by the foreigners, the locals instantly fall in love with the sport. Today, you can see children and adults of variety of races playing football in courts, stadiums or simply any open spaces.

The MFA Complex/ Headquarters was first established in 1980 in Maine after independence, since then, scouts have been going around the nation recruiting young and talented Marblelanians.

The first official team was formed in 1981 consisting of both young and old players. To improve quality, several overseas players of Marblelanian descend were called over to represent the team legally. These include Cole Atkins, Richard Harbour, Gideon Sutton, and Aziz Malek. Meanwhile, there has been a new surge of young idols sprouting around the nation, this include the later captain of Marblelanian team, Adi Malek; Raymond Bold, George Hatching, Jamie Watts, Simon McDonnell, Kieran Tys, Robbie Edwards, Jonathan and Ryan Cutting, Evan Smith, Eric Billings and many others.

Today, Marblelanian FC is a successful team with it entering IAC 25 in 2026. Its current team have numerous talents including Raja Matusaleh, Enoch Barack, Raymond and Kevin Mustard, Ethan Billings, Darren Rottingham, Edward Mills, Chris Pratt, Declan Law, Richard Wilkins, Joshua Howards, Jamal Marquez, Zack Wesley, John Leicester, Aznan Fariz and many others.

This is the official roster of Lionsroar

Welcome to the Sports World of Großlöwenburg!
a proud germanic nation on the RP Map of Valsora in The East Pacific
See the domestic sports thread here
See [url]the roster here[/url] (this post is the roster)

>Großlöwenburg<

ROSTER: "DIE EINSTELLUNG"

Name: Großlöwenburg/Löwenburg/Lionsroar
Full name: Großkönigreich Löwenburg, Kingdom of Greater Löwenburg
State: absolutist monarchy with confederal entities
Trigramme: LWB
The people of Löwenburg are called: Burgish
Nickname: The Nobles, The Lions (preferred), The Yellow/Golden-Whites
Capital City: Löwenburg (City)

Großlöwenburg
Großlöwenburg, Löwenburg (or Loewenburg) aka Lionsroar is an absolute federal monarchy with countless regional entities located in the south-western part of the region of Harg on the continent of Araseos on Valsora. The capital of the kingdom is the eponymous city of Löwenburg, located in the western heartlands. With a population of 7,772,273, it is the largest city in Löwenburg and, due to its cultural, political, and economic significance, a primate city. Löwenburg is a regionally divided entity with a federal monarchy and its administrative apparatus on top. Counties, Baronies and Duchies organise themselves in smaller territorial federations, making the government overly bureaucratic. The nation has a population of 123.6 million.

The national team usually plays at the biggest stadium of Löwenburg, that is King's Field in Löwenburg (City), home to the most successful domestic club of King's Team. Other major clubs include: Legio Löwenburg, 1. FC Kaiserclaw, FC Sturm Baltika, SK Sturm Beatrixa, Hansa Kolsche, FC Danubia Ulm, Lords and Plebs FC, FC Kingsund and the clubs from Haschborg, FC Haschborg and reigning champions SV Haschborg 04. And yet, not a single team is from Haschborg yet. A horrible oversight or something that is true in the light of recent cracks in the walls? For more football in Löwenburg, check out: Football in Löwenburg on ValWiki, Lionsroar on NSSportsWiki, Category Football on ValWiki and my big Football Spreadhsheet!

The national team represents all constituent states of the Kingdom of Greater Löwenburg. It is managed by the Löwenburger Fußballbund (LFB or LFA in Vanglish). The World Cup is covered by broadcasts of Sports11, the biggest national sports broadcaster. It will be available to the whole population in free TV. It will be led by Hostess Marianna together with football expert Petr. Großlöwenburg has no home stadium, but travels throughout the entire monarchy to play its matches.

Notable Players
Ingen Liechtenstein
der kraken (the Kraken)
The 28-year-old goalkeeper hails from Löwenburg (City) and has remained loyal to his childhood club, King's Team, for a very long time. However, he began his career at SC Löwenburg, a club that maintains a close friendship with the King's Team ultras. After several years in the youth ranks, his potential only became apparent relatively late; he subsequently moved up to the King's Team reserve squad and, as a young goalkeeper, was given an early opportunity with the first team. He quickly proved his worth. During the qualifying season, his outstanding performances secured the club's most recent championship title to date. Yet he remained loyal to the club even through the difficult times that followed, eventually celebrating a cup victory, acting as an absolute bulwark, in the recent derby against Legio Löwenburg. He is also performing well on the international stage, despite some initial difficulties.

Ludwig von den Linden
die Legende (the legend)
Ludwig von den Linden is arguably the best and most famous footballer ever to play in or outside of Großlöwenburg. The captain of the King's Team and the national squad is a terrifying, muscle-bound giant who shows no mercy in front of goal. A fanatical King's Team supporter, and even a member of its leading ultra group, the "Königliches Kollektiv", he dominates the pitch and is the go-to player for everyone. As the top scorer for the national team, his class has also shown internationally in the IAC26.

ROSTER OF THE GOLDEN THRONE IMPERIAL FOOTBALL TEAM

The Blue-and-Golds come from winning their first Díencup (regional football) tournament and, after a good showing by their U-21 team in the DiBradini Cup, are looking for a strong group finish in their return to the World Cup stage. Lack of consistency in appearing at the World Cup and related tournaments will, of course, have taken its toll, but nevertheless the Golden Throne's team seeks to punch above its weight and work its way up the global rankings through the next few World Cup tournaments. It promises to be a tough and challenging road, where most of the teams played will also be looking to take all three points.

The team goes with the same team it won Díencup II with.

Choppyhausenian Football Association
World Cup 102 Squad

Information

Trigramme: CPH
Nickname: Team in Teal
Manager: Harmon Merrit (62)
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Style: -1.5

To say that the 102nd cycle has started less than ideal for the Choppyhausen national football team is no understatement. Leaving the IAC26 after the group stage, as a Pot 1 team no less, was devastating for the Team in Teal, a team that until that point had only ever seen improvement in its performances. Now, at the World Cup, the goal is clear: Do not repeat the IAC again. It is the job of the following 24 players to reach the World Cup in Drawkland and the Holy Empire.

Led by national goalkeeping legend and captain Weiner-Kracht, the tactics of the Choppyhausen national team revolve around their quick and technically gifted wingers, Keil and Iduna. In attacking and counter-attacking situations, the full-backs – known for their accurate crosses – push forward to support the attack, aiming to find Corte, Choppyhausen’s classic centre-forward, in the box. When out of possession, they drop back to support the tall central defenders, working to shut down any threat from the opposition.
Starting 11

Manuel WEINER-KRACHT - (C)
> (#1, GK, 32yrs) - Victoria Choppingen

Choppyhausen's captain is a national legend. The goalkeeper is feared among forwards for his exceptional one-on-one qualities. Compared to his international colleagues, his build-up play might be a bit weaker but his spirit and strive for victory are only matched by few.

David BENDER-MCKAY
> (#2, LB, 33yrs) - Chain Drehstatt

Bender-McKay might be the oldest player in Choppyhausen's starting lineup but that does not stop him from sprinting down the left flank whenever possible. The left back is one of the most experienced players of the team and his pinpoint crosses are notorious.

Milo HOLDENBECK
> (#3, CB, 25yrs) - Triangle Vastonburg

"Built like a tank and yet as agile as a gazelle" said Holdenbeck's first scouting report. The 25 year old is among the fastest players in the team - especially useful when an offside trap did not work. When he's not winning the ball with a daring sliding tackle, he likes to send the ball flying across the pitch, sometimes as a clearance, sometimes as a dangerous offensive pass.

Maik HAFERKREIS
> (#4, CB, 22yrs) - Club Lektura Kork

Haferkreis is only 22 years old — young for a center back. Nevertheless, Coach Merrit has high hopes for him. Tall and fearless even in tricky situations, Haferkreis exudes a calmness that few others on the pitch possess. WC101 was the first tournament where he played as a starter for Choppyhausen.

Til LAMPE
> (#16, RB, 26yrs) - Image Chester Chiefs

Til Lampe is the first Choppyhausenian national player to play abroad in Dantopia. He has been part of the Team in Teal since the Baptism of Fire where he snatched the starting possesion from Oak. When in possession of the ball, he likes to play forward which sometimes leads to mistakes in his defensive play.

Alexander FERRY
> (#18, DM/CM, 21yrs) - Chain Drehstatt

Ferry was first added to Choppyhausen's squad in WC101. He ended up being benched during the IAC26, that tournament ended up horrible, so now he's back in the starting eleven. Following a strong domestic season, he has particularly stood out for his excellent vision and technique. And he has recently improved on his defensive play too, although there is still room for improvement in some areas.

Andre FINCH
> (#19, DM, 28yrs) - Irstria Storm FC

Next to Ferry in the defensive midfield you will find Andre Finch who has been part of the starting lineup since the IAC24. The 27 year old impresses with his strong tackling skills and accurate through balls. His calmness with the ball was one of the strong reasons for Irstria Storm's championship last season.

Dominik KEIL
> (#8, LW, 28yrs) - Triangle Vastonburg

Dominik Keil has a very simple yet effective playing mantra: Get the ball -> Run a bit -> Dribble past opponents -> Run a bit more -> Cross in the middle -> Goal (hopefully). This has been proven to be pretty effective and so Keil has once again secured himself a starting position.

Tommy LUKESON
> (#9, AM, 23yrs) - Triangle Vastonburg

"Young and energetic with the right drive toward the goal", is how coach Merrit descibed the offensive midfielder in a not that recent interview. Even though he is one of the youngest players in the team, Lukeson has succesfully defended his starting position with regular goal contributions. He loves to leave opposing defenders in his wake with his skillful dribbling and isn't afraid to shoot from unlikely angles, even if his risky style of play is sometimes frowned upon by the coach.

Marco IDUNA
> (#10, RW, 25yrs) - Victoria Choppingen

Iduna is one of the team's best scorers. His goals are usually especially important as the 23 year old has a curious tendency to score a lot of Choppyhausen's 1-0s. His domain is the right wing, where he loves to sprint down to the byline and cross in the box.

Jule CORTE
> (#11, CF, 31yrs) - Victoria Choppingen

Corte is probably the most important player in Choppyhausen's offensive play. The team's classic centre forward won the "Golden Ball" for Player of the Tournament by Stewartika's SFA Technical Study Group in the 87th Baptism of Fire. Most of Choppyhausen's attacks sooner or later end up on his foot. Corte is known for being cold-blooded and humorless infront of goal, usually scoring without a lot of trickery.

Manager: Rutendo Mukarate (MIR) (57,Mc,Human)
"The point of football is to have fun, and the way you have fun is by scoring goals."

In a clear point marking the end of Error Message's autocratic hegemony over football in Erroropolisish Paradystopia, Rutendo Mukarate has been brought in as national manager in the hopes that some outside influence can improve this small nation's standing on the multiversal stage. Whether he initially thought he was being offered the Paradystopia job, or simply saw this particularly youthful squad as an interesting development project (Having previously worked with the team's star forward Xanda Pond at Martian club, Eridania Basin) has not been confirmed. With only one appearance at a regional level for the nation to date, he does have a mostly blank slate to work with.

Formation: Flexible, but generally 3-5-2

Style Mod: +4.321

The tactical overview is basically
  1. Achieve possession
  2. Get the ball upfield
  3. Score
Given Rutendo's focus on individual development over squad development expect moments of individual heroism, mistakes from discommunication, and a rough-and-ready, disjointed style of play. Top level 'school-yard football' essentially.

Home Stadium: The Erroropolis (Greater) Arena, (Greater) Erroropolis
Home ground of Greater Erroropolis SC (27,775 seats)

Picture the ground of a lower league club with an oversized stadium and struggling to make ends meet financially. That's essentially what we're working with here. Is it truly fit for international football? Probably not. Looks okay if you stand a good distance away and squint.

The Team:
FIRST XI
# P Name (Age,Gen,Race) Current Domestic Squad
1 GK Henry Bird - (31,Mc,Human) Bognobb FC
4 CB Boris Milosić - (23,Mc,Human) Blubeck FC (KAT)
5 CB Byorn Rhodnisson - (18,Mc,Human) Greater Erroropolis SC
6 CB Anna Adinić - (29,Fc,Human) Bognobb FC
12 LM Rupert Montacervus - (27,Mc,Human) Bognobb FC
14 CM Vynnifred Schlumpp (c) - (23,Fc,Human) AC Urbsclawydraeksterlutrja (PDT)
15 CM Miranda Sylkie - (18,Fe,Human) Farslum Hoo SC (PDT)
16 CM Lucius Robertson-Cooper - (20,Mc,Human) AFC Nictown (HNL)
20 RM Zara Dodd - (18,Fc,Human) AC Oeopolis Northern (PDT)
23 CF Xanda Pond - (19,NB,Human) X Island Marauders (TAE)
25 ST Sven Svensson - (30,Mc,Human) SC Oldetoun New Newetoun (PDT)
SUBSTITUTES/RESERVES
# P Name (Age,Gen,Race) Current Domestic Squad
2 GK Jon Mann - (20,Me,Human) Bognobb FC
3 GK Martyn av den Baumhus - (16,Mc,Human) Bognobb FC
7 CB Jolyon Dungworth - (18,Me,Human) Querentes Oeopolis
8 CB Quintus Boom - (17,Mc,Human) FC Felina (SEE)
9 CB Eester West - (23,Fc,Human) Bognobb FC
10 DM Colin Butt - (19,Mc,Human) AC Pantsdon Shandy (PDT)
11 DM Jezebel Kwakzalver - (17,Fc,Human) AC Urbsclavydraeksterlutrja (PDT)
13 LM Montaguw Ackesthorpe-Smythe - (18,Mc,Human) St. Agnant's Wamp SC (PDT)
17 CM Montaguw Tophat - (19,Mc,Human) Querentes Oeopolis
18 CM Elyza Megsdottyr - (19,Fc,Human) Greater Erroropolis SC
19 CM Herbert Ratt - (18,Mc,Human) Bognobb FC
21 RM Aditi Machimaara - (19,Fc,Human) Querentes Oeopolis
22 AM Jeff Andave - (23,Mc,Human) Barkentyne Abertynkle (PDT)
24 CF Parsiminious Pilchard - (16,Mc,Human) AC Urbsclavoszydensanorjens (PDT)
26 ST Freda Low - (19,Fc,Human) AC Oeopolis Northern (PDT)

The most notable players on the team are Vynnifred Schlumpp and Xanda Pond who are the most experienced and capable players in the Erroropolisish team. Schlumpp recently finished a two season stint with VV Szbedansk in Kanzlia to move to the central midfield for Paradystopi reigning league champions AC Urbsclavydraeksterlutrja, and Pond showed much promising development at Eridania Basin before a recent move to Taeshani heavyweights, the X Island Marauders. It can almost be guaranteed that any successful move by the team will have come through one, or both of these players.
Boris Milosić, Miranda Sylkie, and Lucius Robertson-Cooper, whilst possibly not having quite the same level of pedigree as Schlumpp and Pond are the next most capable players of the squad. This does mean that the team have a fairly talented little bubble in the central midfield that they will make use of.
Anna Adinić, Rupert Montacervus, and Sven Svensson do bring a certain level of experience to the team which is much needed in a squad this young though none are particularly technically gifted.
Henry Bird is a not a very good goalkeeper. The association is hoping that further international exposure of the team will improve the scouting prospects in this position as there's extremely slim-pickings at present for Erroropolisish goalkeepers.
