DO NOT post any screenshots or link any videos pertaining to any leaks

formerly called the "grab that auto" discussion thread, but i think people were taking me literally so its just "grand theft auto" now

Lol we got GTA discussion thread before GTA 6

Despite me being anti-gun, this is my favorite game series of all time
Maybe I just want guns confined to fiction rather than reality

There's an element to which I somewhat feel like GTA 6 has missed its own launch date by now. Don't get me wrong, it will probably be a massive phenomenon when it finally releases but if it had launched 3 years ago I think the entire world would have lost its mind. Now we have been making the "everything happened before GTA 6" thing for so long that people just quietly expect it now.

I agree. The wait is not exciting anymore for many of the players. It does not have the period of euphoria that the weeks before Silksong’s release had. Maybe this is because Rockstar conditioned the players to think that it was just around the corner. It'll still be a hit, no doubt.

The delays are in my favor because I need time to get myself a new laptop lol (yes I know there's no PC version at launch, that buys me an extra year or two)
But also, the delays make my expectations higher, because that means more time to fix bugs and maybe introduce new features

Of course, on some level it is inevitable. Rockstar made the second and third most sold video games of all time in the 2010s, there is going to be an absolutely unfathomable amount of expectation placed on them to match it. If they mess up GTA 6, disaster isn't even an appropriate word for the magnitude of what would happen.

as much as people hate the delays, rockstar has been doing it for polish, alot of these other game companies have alot of unfair deadlines and then a game comes out undercooked, i generally prefer delays over a shit unfinished game

Unfortunately this is no longer the norm
Companies used to take time before releasing games, but the end result (for the most part) has minimal to no bugs
Now they can release games in various states of completion, then patch the hell out of it later

a note here
i have pretty high hopes for vi, though i do fret on terms of gameplay quality, since rockstar's leadership has changed so much in the past, but i believe if rdr2 is of relative qualities i dont see any different in VI, most of what rockstar i see doing right now is rather scummy behavior on their part in trying to monetize an unreleased game out of hype, especially with the massive blow on the album, they can make physical discs out of that but not for the game thus im not convinced that sony is forcing them
i guessage we see by then, ignoring some inconsistencies it could live up too expectations, especially for the mighty beautiful world

The only thing I'm hoping for in GTA VI is having a lot of things to do for fun when not playing the campaign missions. GTA IV also had that, but in my honest opinion, the amount of activities a player could do in GTA IV was less than that of GTA SA (and GTA SA of course has the most amount of activities to do in a GTA game). Other than, I really hope GTA VI stays grounded and doesn't go the deep end like what happened with GTA Online.

I am reading rumors that Rockstar Games or Take Two Interactive has a digital "hostage" situation on its hands. A hacker allegedly has a full build of GTA6 before its been released and because Rockstar's legal department is hunting him down, he is threatening to go "nuclear" on leaking this out to the internet. Cyberleek claims to possess major unreleased game content and threatened to dump the entire storyline, ending, or full game build publicly.

They're demanding that Rockstar Games and parent company Take-Two Interactive release GTA 6 on physical discs (rather than digital-only/download code-only formats) and issue a public apology. The individual or group is tying their threats to a custom cryptocurrency memecoin, claiming they will release data if specific market cap milestones are reached.

This can of course, all be a made up situation intended as a marketing scheme that Rockstar has set up to drive up sales/hype for their game release date.

i heavily disregard the basis of a marketing scheme, rockstar has filed legal pursuits and cyberleek has already pump and dumped so much into their memecoin, i dont understand why rockstar would go out of their way to make a fake hacker collective based on their leaking their early development and content especially i wouldn't really see them in wasting legal time and taking action, it seems such a far stretch because rockstar isnt really too much liberal enough to do that all themselves

I can still play GTA IV on PC with a bunch of mods. I enjoy the open world of V, but I didn't like the story and the multiplayer got very draining. I used to enjoy just driving around and finding all the fun easter egg spots with people. GTA IV online was magical

Online schmonline, I just do story mode, and then once I've finished that, just went crazy with mods
This applies to both 5 and San Andreas btw
With the latter I only ever finished the game twice I think, the rest of the times I've played it were with all the missions removed so I just have a big sandbox to put mods in

GTA IV online was really fun tho! I got so good at flying the helicopter that I could hover above water and pick people up who were swimming, managed to use two flatbed trucks to haul a boat onto the swing set glitch and launch it into the air, and there was that small rodeo area near the air port where you could host airport baggage cart destruction derby. GTA IV online was fun because you had to make your own fun and you could create all kinds of weird friend based games

All good. I do enjoy the mods that combine all 3 areas so you can play GTA SA/III/VC all in one game.
