Imagine this: you're someone working at the IBA's headquarters with regards to handling WorldVision Song Contest hosting bids, and you receive an email from someone at RTNL (Tomerion's broadcaster for WV) with the subject line of "PLEASE READ: Tomerion's host bid for the 129th WorldVision Song Contest". That email contains a fourteen-slide presentation with the following contents...

Suurna, the princess of the north - The Kingdom of Snow, and of course occasionally, “The Land of the Gods” (It’s a long story.) However you may best know her as the small north atlantic archipelago nation. With a population of just 46,539 this unspoiled Atlantic gem is one of the smallest nations to ever compete in WorldVision, and hopefully now - to host too. With this bid in the pipeline for over a year, I’m proud to present to you: Adventure Ahoy!


We’re taking a different approach this edition. If Suurna wins the privilege to host the 129th edition of WorldVision, then there will not be a single host city, but instead - the whole edition will be hosted on the Expobarge. A newly refurbished boat, which typically hosts high profile guests on a cruise around the nation, will do the same this edition! And provide endlessly customisable staging options.

The boat was a luxury cruiseliner prior to its conversion for the competition, and so is well equipped, including the 5 star fisherman’s lounge, host to a Michelin star chef and a host of international and Suurnan food offerings. The Expobarge will ensure all participants and viewers enjoy the contest in style and comfort.

The Main stage this edition is a perfect circle, with a small back section that features stairs to allow participants easy access on and off the stage. Why is this important? Well, the ExpoBarge - true to its goal of being customisable offers two stages for your participants to perform on (Bigger images will be spoilered below). The Main stage is the larger of the two - With an oval LED screen, and a floor LED screen. Beyond this the back wall (Highlighted in orange) Can pulse in millions of colours, however does not act as an LED. Beyond this all typical light and smoke effects are available.

The North stage is slightly more limited in size, however it makes up for it with its beautiful reflecting pool. The pool that sits in front of the shape is highly advanced and has water jets, sprays, misters etc. and can be used to create any effect a delegation desires. Performances will take place at night, and so the stage will further have full smoke, LED (Though not on the floor) and light capabilities. Artists are able to move through each stage during their performances, as the hallway connecting the two (nicknamed the engine room) is rigged fully with cameras, and takes your artist through a short isolated backstage passage.

While the ExpoBarge will explore Suurna in its entirety, there are three key cities which will host the other important contest infrastructure for both the fans and artists. Your delegation may even find itself on a tour of these very cities, so keep your eyes up!

The first on our list is the capital Stokgerði, home to just over 13k people it is the largest city in the country. Situated on an Isthmus between the big and little sisters (Lakes) The city is best known for its beautiful marina with cobbled streets and high quality food, drink and pubs. It is also the largest port in the country. The city is further home to Vaðfjell, a huge local peak with stone steps that we recommend delegations set aside a day to climb. Finally - if it’s snowing (Which it does often!) We recommend stopping in a traditional fish cafe. They sell coffee, and of course fish to fishermen after long days on the boats. The food, we recognise is not to international taste - but an interesting experience nonetheless

The Second largest city is Lilleberg. Capital to the region of the same name, it is home to 4.5k people and is the cultural centre of Suurna. Built on over 300 scattered islands and islets the city is full to the brim with beautiful vistas of fjords and islands. When you’re not spending time at the fan centre which is located in the city, we recommend catching a boat tour of the islands, and camping next to the crystal blue waters under the northern lights in Kolla campsite.

Beyond this, don't miss the sunday market where locals sell fish, veg and most importantly, Suurnan handcraft goods such as scarves and carved wooden sculptures of the norse gods, great souvenirs! (Not the fish of course)

Rounding out our three major Suurnan cities (And I use that term lightly) is Hafarnes. Home to just 2.3k people and the centre of Almsjö region. Hafarnes represents the unspoilt Suurnan countryside. Big sweeping dramatic mountains descend to the brilliant blue waters, which are thankfully ice free for the summer, and allow you partake in canoeing through the Suurnan fjords - which is highly recommended. Beyond this - the Valr lake (pictured) is open year round (although very chilly!) and is often frequented by the locals. Finally - if your nation drives on the right, we recommend renting a car and cruising through the miles of open roads that populate the Suurnan country - just be careful, some may be snowy or unpaved in very rural areas!

A larger version of all graphics will be made available at the spoiler section at the bottom of the bid, however our scoreboard - displayed here will match with the Suurnan banner graphics, which have been used for each entry since the nation’s debut, a good way to pay homage to the country’s WorldVison history.

Our hosts are husband and wife duo Jón Einarsson and Anna Pálsdóttir. The former is a 30 year old Norweigan-Suurnan actor, while not with a huge international reputation - he is well known within the nordics and iceland for his acting style and looks. Anna was a science major, however dropped out to pursue journalism - and now creates short form science content for NSÚ, which has gained quite the international audience. She is 27. Finally, Anaïs Marchand is the 44 year old creative director of NSÚ, having fastidiously worked her way up through the ranks, she is now one of the public faces of the organisation - and will handle our green room.

I want to thank all of you who have made this bid possible very dearly. It's been in the pipeline for a year(?) Now, and to see it finally all completed is truly exciting, but of course I need to first go through some rules and regulations! Yay! Right.

What do I need from you?

Well as you may have seen the recap linked above has quite a few moving parts and so to ensure that it all runs smoothly I need two (Potentially three) things from you:

- Your nation’s name in French, Spanish, German and Icelandic. These can be sent to me through TG, or on discord - of course this is my preferred method. If it is *dire* I can accept it written at the bottom of the entry but I stress a TG or DM to either the WVC or me is Prefered.
- If your tune does not have background video, or you wish to have your own background video PLEASE SEND IT TO ME! I would love to have the recap look exactly how you envision, but I can’t do that without your help.
- Finally It would make my life easier for those who don't follow the above steps if you at least included a faceclaim, then I can just use a clip of one of their live performances.

STE (Servå Televisie Ekoeses) announced that due to personal circumstances, previously announced Delilah Sandsvik has decided to withdraw her participation in the upcoming 129th WorldVision Song Contest. Sandsvik stated "With great sadness, I have had to withdraw from the competition due to personal circumstances that I can disclose at a later date. I wish the artist who will carry the baton on for me all the success in the world!".

STE confirmed Jolanda, 30, will represent the country at the 129th WorldVision Song Contest with the song "Look but don't touch", which was released on all streaming platforms today. Jolanda found fame on Talang.ez (Ekozian version of the 'Got Talent' franchise) in 2019, placing second. She has released three singles, two of which cracked the top ten. Jolanda stated, "I'm very excited to be representing the country! I hope I can do Ekoz proud!"

After RTV1 announced a few days ago that WV 18 winner and WV 120 entrant, superstar and scandal icon Lena Kuskavka, would represent the country for the third time, the final song for Lena’s participation has now been unveiled at a press conference dedicated to the song announcement. “Scandalicious” looks back on the scandalous life of Lena Kuskavka.

The Polkopian National Broadcaster (PNB) has confirmed that the results of the Symfonik Semi Finals are now finalized. The field of acts qualifying for tomorrow's Grand Final has been locked in. The top two songs from each Semi Final have directly qualified for tomorrow's show, alongside one Wildcard chosen by the Polkopian jury to advance. Together, these confirmed five songs will compete in tomorrow's Grand Final to see which one will represent Polkopia at the 129th Worldvision Song Contest

Following the international jury vote, the Polkopian jury has officially awarded the Wildcard slot to Veronika from the remaining pool of semi-finalists. She will advance to join the four direct qualifiers and complete the Grand Final lineup.

By the conclusion of tomorrow's event, Polkopia will have crowned its official representative for the upcoming Worldvision Song Contest.
