World Cup 101 - The Rosters

Postby Paradystopia » Mon Apr 20, 2026 11:09 am

This is the World Cup 101 Roster Thread.

Where you unsurprisingly, post the details of your nation's representative team at World Cup 101.

Please be sure to include a clearly visible style modifier indicating your squad's style of play (any value, up to 3 decimal places, between the über-defensive -5, and the ultra-attacking +5), and your preferred RP permissions as detailed in the code box below.
Code: Select all
My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:
Choose my goalscorers: Yes/No
Allow Bizarro scoring events: Yes/No
RP injuries to my players: Yes/No
Allow Bizarro injuries to my players: Yes/No
Hand out yellow cards to my players: Yes/No
Hand out red cards to my players: Yes/No
Allow any other Bizarro events: Yes/No

The hosts have two requests with regards to rosters
  1. Please can everyone to be considerate of their opponent's RP permissions. Whilst some teams would consider it amusing to read of how their team failed to perform due to an overindulgence in some spurious sashimi from a not-so-salubrious establishment prior to the game resulting in some rather rebellious digestive tracts, others would most certainly not. Do make yourselves aware of your opponent's permissions and be a good sportsperson by adhering to them.
Should you feel someone has deliberately disregarded your permissions in an RP, please feel free to make a post in the World Cup discussion thread, or TG one of the hosts. Repeated, or deliberate ignorance of others permissions will be subject to RP penalties at the discretion of the hosts.
  2. We also ask that nations do not reserve posts in the thread. There is a wonderful, little button labelled 'Save draft' just to the left of 'Preview' for those who wish to build their rosters over a period of time. Alternatively, copying what you've written and saving it elsewhere on any program which uses .txt files is another valid option. The hosts are likely to grade-as-we-go when we can as posts get added to the threads. We won't particularly appreciate having to backtrack to check if [insert your nation name here] have actually produced anything ready to be graded yet, and no-one wants their roster to be 'grumpily' graded, do they?
  3. Addendum: In accordance with the Gravitional Pots qualification method, can all nations please specify if they wish to 'opt in' (basically, higher chance of squaring off against regional opposition in qualification) or 'opt out' (facing whomever Margaret so decides in qualification)
Also, be aware that any nation failing to provide a roster will be subject to a full 100% penalty in any rank and/or roleplay as it's hardly fair to anyone trying to craft a match report to not know exactly who, or what, they're up against. This penalty will be removed immediately once a roster is posted.

Any team who includes, or mentions a penguin within their roster will be awarded a small RP bonus. The exact same RP bonus will then immediately be deducted of account of you being a suck-up.

HOME STADIA
The 6 host stadiums are a collection of stadia which are not owned by any club, but by Sernefoot itself. They are used mainly for international games and competitions. There are usually 7 (with an 8th one under construction) but Soapbricks arena is currently closed.

1st Home stadium

Sernet - who are we?
This section contains useful information for visitors.

Written by Jeremy Greenstall; Ultra-patriotic Sernetian author working for Sernefoot
the below is an expanded version of this post:
viewtopic.php?f=7&t=575263&p=43157985&hilit=sernet#p43157985
(this may be put into my factbook one day, albeit slightly edited)

The Metrostocracy of Sernet, is a sizeable, densely built, unapologetically industrial nation located in one of the busier corners of the NS multiverse. At Sernet's core stands its beating heart and namesake capital, Sernetesen, a colossal metropolis of skyscrapers, a sprawling rail network and constant movement; buildings as far as the eye can see. Although Sernet is a unified and deeply patriotic state, its culture is unmistakably metropolitan, and the entire country is shaped - architecturally, socially and economically - by the cities that dominate its landscape.
Beyond the capital lie other major urban giants: Stensemertef with its sprawling freight yards, massive port and countless tower blocks stretching far and wide can see; Nestomerisen, dubbed "the great Nest", city of 10,000 trades; Sporstrodisen, a titanic technological hub and another port city; Sermeslau, bastion of the north; and Sultrisend, where industry runs 24 hours a day and the night sky glows from all the light beneath. Just to name a few. Sernet as a whole is a relatively uninterrupted web of cities. Sernet is also a bilingual state, with parts of the northeast of the country being polish-speaking, with major cities in the area including Stroławostok and Plostruń. However, most Sernetians speak both languages, meaning communication is smooth. Provinces in Sernet are known as governorates.
Internationally, Sernet is known for its skyscrapers, its relentlessly efficient industrial output, its labyrinth of a railway network, and its population of citizens who are proud and patriotic. Chants in support of the Steamers echo across the country. But outside of the sprawling towns and cities is a harmonious countryside, beautiful scenic views stretching out into the horizon, straight out of a fairy tale. Sernet isn't all brick, glass concrete and steel. It's natural paradise too. Sernet also has a strong military and space force to protect national interests and project authority where required. The Sernetian Empire is the wider form of Sernet, encompassing colonies such as Smoltrendestof and Toperis, known for being peacefully acquired; the Sernetian Empire is famously benevolent, and has always been since its formation.
And of course, Sernet is known for football.

Top 3:

Sernetesen is the largest city in Sernet by far, with 18.6 million living within Greater Sernetesen and a further 13.4 million living within the rest of Sernetesen governorate, bringing the total population of the whole governorate to 32,067,400

Nestomerisen is the second largest with a total of 9.2 million people within the metropolitan area and another 1 million within surrounding suburb towns which technically count, bringing the popuation up to 10.2 million people

Stensemertef has a total population of 8.2 million, including the entire Stensemertef Metropolitan Subgovernorate.

4-34th largest

Sporstrodisen 5.1M
Sermeslau 5M (includes Durslomof)
Lofnostem 4.4M
Stalmesen 4M
Septingof 3.6M
Sultrisend 3.2M
Plostruń 3.2M (technically 2M but extra 1.2M joins on due to expanded metro area)

Lunstrisolt 2.1M
Slassedrosem 1.8M (technically 800K but extra 1M joins on due to expanded metro area)
Saldenesem 1.6M (part of Saldensiland Conurbation)
Seltromisen 1.6M
Wastomissen 1.5M (technically 500k but expanded metro area aids the number)
Setelendisen 1.4M (part of Sernetesen governorate so its 1.4M population is counted in the 32M population listed above)
Darstendof 1.2M
Ustekiosen 1.2M
Nepsom (formerly New Spasem) 1.2M (includes the whole Eastrocks area)
Hostrisen 1.2M

MAY BE INCORRECT:
Uspremedrisen 970K
Stergentrisolt 970K (includes wider metro area + Lognisof)
Lansingost 960K (includes wider metro area)
Loblinisen 940K (part of Sernetesen governorate so its population is counted in the 32M population listed above, the 940K figure includes Many surrounding towns, but not Sundosmesen)

Other places worth noting:
Upper Nestomesiom Conurbation:
around 3.4M people live in this area; largest city Spabondrisem 672K, includes cities such as merglendosen, seskendrolmesen and swadnilesem
Smoltrendestof:
the area is home to around 10M people

Notes:
-vast majority of Sernet's population is urban and live in towns and cities of over 100k
-pretty much everyone else lives in a town of over 25k
-metropolitan areas in sernet are larger than in most other places so it may seem like a city is larger than it really is: most of the aforementioned cities take up a decent amount of land, meaning they are not incredibly dense.

Football in Sernet

Football is not merely a sport here. It is a way of life. Nearly every Sernetian supports a local club, and the domestic rivalries are explosive, heated, and occasionally all-consuming. Matches between Stronghold Sernetesen FC, Setelendisen FC, Governorate Dameristol, Loblinisen Wanderers, Korona Stroławostok, Zwiazek Gdasenowo, Colliers' UFC, Legion SL, Union Slalosol and numerous others define the emotional rhythm of many sernetians.
The rivalries are deeply rooted: industrial pride, city-versus-city competition, and even politics and ideological jabs often play into them. Crowd atmospheres in Sernetian stadia are renowned across MU: loud, united and proud. Sernetian footballing history goes way back, it has now been almost two centuries since the beautiful game reached Sernet.
But when Sernet plays internationally, all rivalries immediately dissolve. The whole nation stands united behind the Steamers, named for the vast plumes of white steam which rose from Sernet's rail terminals and industrial stacks back in the day before electrification. Everyone in Sernet loves the steamers. Any view other than that is considered heresy (obviously it's not a life-or-death matter, but still... ...Sernet is him.)
Until very recently, however, the Steamers had rarely ventured beyond their regional football sphere. Their sudden competitive push in the World Cup qualifiers, and their subsequent invitation to the Cup of Harmony, has electrified the country's football culture even further, renewing pride in Sernet's legends. Now with the 101st edition of the World Cup looming, the country is united in support of the Steamers once more.

The Sernetian football system has recently undergone a shift, resulting in the formation of a new league system replacing the former multiple tier system. The Sernefoot Gold League is now the Premier division of Sernetian football, followed by the Silver League and the Bronze League. These leagues contain 24 teams; the bottom three teams are relegated each season to the league below and the top three promoted to the league above. Additionally, teams who finish top, or near the top, of the Goal League table qualify for a range of different competitions. Each team plays each other twice every season in the top three leagues.
Below the Bronze League comes Sernefoot Division 1, which also consists of 24 teams. The first team from Division 1 is automatically promoted to the Bronze League, while positions 2-5 play each other for promotion in the playoffs - out of the four teams, 2 can qualify. The bottom four teams are relegated into Division Two. This cycle carries on through Divisions 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and finally Division 9, the lowest League of Sernefoot football. From each of the Division leagues (except for 1 & 9) the Top 2 qualify automatically while places 3-6 enter the playoffs. 2 more teams from positions 3-6 get promoted, meaning that in total 4 teams get promoted. The bottom 4 teams are relegated. There are no relegation playoffs. Because Division 9 is the lowest Sernefoot League, 4 teams get promoted from Div 9 to 8, but only 2 are relegated. The relegated teams are replaced by whichever team is at the top of their SLSA (Sernet League System Association) Zone. Those zones are Sernet Northeast, Sernet North, Sernet Central, Sernet South, Sernet East and Sernet West. If the two relegated teams belong to the same zone, then the top two teams from that zone are promoted. The SLSA Zone a team is in is obviously based on geographical location, for example, a team located in Sernetesen would be under the Sernet Central Zone and a team located in Krafnoslau would be under the Sernet Northeast Zone. All clubs are under an SLSA Zone, even those in the Gold League.

Additionally, some of Sernet's colonies operate their own leagues, most notably Smoltrendestof. The Smoltrendestof Premiership and Championship were under Sernefoot, whereas the leagues beneath were SLSA. However, with the recent formation of the Smoltrendestof Independent Football Association (SIFA), they are now operated by SIFA as opposed to Sernefoot. Both Smoltrendestof Leagues have 12 teams, bringing the amount of Sernefoot clubs in Smoltrendestof to 24. The bottom two teams from both leagues are relegated, and the top two are promoted.

There are also several domestic competitions, such as the Sernefoot Crown Cup, which is Sernet's equivalent of the FA cup.

How to Get to Sernet

Sernet is remarkably easy to reach. Direct flights arrive from across the multiverse, with the majority funnelled into Sernetesen Storimidros International Airport, the nation's primary gateway to distant countries.
Travellers from nearer neighbours (like Armatonisdaristan) may instead land at Sernetesen West, Stensemertef International, or other large regional hubs. The national flag carrier, Sernetian Airways, operates most long-distance flights; its fleet is functional, modern and remarkably comfortable.
An alternative for those with access to flights to Armatonisdaristan is to take advantage of the legendary GUSM (Great Undersea Maglev). Departing from Aberstorf, the GUSM speeds beneath the ocean and surfaces on Sernet's shores, connecting directly to major cities at stations such as Sernetesen Gateway, Hostrisen International, Sultrisend Steamlake, Wosserom Obelisk, and more, as well as Stensemertef International and Nestomerisen International if taking GUSM Sleeper. Because the line is operated by Sernetrail, fares are astonishingly low. Sernet loves trains, and wants you to use them.
Cruise ships also arrive at several ports for those who dislike flying, though they take far longer than the sleek GUSM or the plane.

Getting Around Sernet

Upon arriving, travellers will quickly notice the defining characteristic of Sernet’s internal infrastructure: railways everywhere.
The rail network here is famously dense; an extensive web connecting every corner of the nation. Even the smallest settlement has at least one station; in urban centres, stations come every couple hundred metres. Trains are frequent, often punctual, cheap, clean, comfortable and used by virtually everyone. No matter where you are in Sernet, unless it's a random remote overseas territory, you're never far from the railway.

Sernetesen, being the nation's vast capital, is a maze of transit systems: the SMR, SMR+, Metrogrid, Sernetesen Connect, Sernetesen Sprinter, Light Rail, Trams, Buses, Ferries and Sernetrail services too. Sernetrail services, branded under various different operators, operate commuter and suburban services in and around Sernetesen, high-speed and long-distance services to destinations around the country, as well as various slower, semi-fast and express regional services. Road travel is also popular, and Current Car Rentals operates across the country. However, traffic is moderately heavy in major cities, and while not an absolute nightmare, most visitors quickly realise the train is universally superior. Intercity coach lines such as Sernetbus exist but are generally slower and only marginally cheaper than rail.
Domestic flights do exist - but the train outperforms them so thoroughly that only the poshest of business travellers even bother.

Things to Know
Sernet is a deeply patriotic and somewhat disciplined country in terms of alcohol consumption. Visitors should be aware that:
-Anti-state chants or provocations can quickly escalate into confrontations (often with football hooligans).
-Police forces are strict, heavily armed, and not shy about enforcing public order.
-The nation is socially conservative, and revealing clothing, especially for women, may attract unwanted attention in certain areas. Crime exists in some cities, particularly at night, and visitors are advised to stay on main streets and avoid wandering alone while intoxicated.

Sernet is also a Muslim-majority country, and while socially practical and modern, alcohol consumption is regulated. Drinking is allowed only in designated venues such as hotels and licensed bars. Supporters celebrating match results must remain civil and follow local etiquette.
Despite these warnings, Sernetians are proud hosts, and the country is extremely safe when common sense is applied. Visitors who respect local customs will find a dynamic, efficient, loud, proud and unforgettable nation, a land of trains, skyscrapers, and football.
Enjoy your stay. Sernet is him.

DISCLAIMER: We know that sometimes Sernet is painted as an industrial hellhole with pollution everywhere, but trust me, from a neutral, non-biased point of view it is actually a pleasant nation to be in (mostly) and you usually don't notice the cracks in the system.

Player Bios
For reasons of me not having enough time, I only made bios for the starting XI. More Bios will be coming soon. Also the images are work in progess. Thanks for understanding.

1) Tomasz Pasarowski - Goalkeeper (Sermeslau Giants), 24

Calm, precise, and fearless under pressure. Pasarowski has become the Steamers' safest pair of hands, known for lightning reactions and a commanding voice that can silence even the rowdiest back line. A natural-born organizer and an absolute legend.
Origins: Born in Suribań, moved to Blobnoslau in Sermeslau as a child.

3) Janusz Tworpowski - Defender (Governorate Dameristol), 22

A young defensive prodigy with ice-cold composure. Reads attacks like a book and loves stepping forward to cut passing lanes early. Already a fan favourite for his "no-nonsense, no-panic" style.
Origins: Stensemertef

4) Dominik Zoliba - Defender (Sermeslau Giants), 35

The veteran enforcer. Heavy, hard, and reliable as steel - exactly what Sernet's defence is built on. Zoliba brings decades of experience and can shut down even elite forwards with pure positioning and grit.
Origins: Palatisolt, moved to Sermeslau later on

22) Stirius Mantrostem - Defender / Emergency Goalkeeper (Union Slalosol), 32

A utility warrior. Mantrostem is tough, tall, and unmovable in duels, equally comfortable sliding into desperate blocks or pushing up on set pieces. His odd dual-role background as an emergency keeper has given him exceptional spatial awareness. He carries the number 22 on his shirt as he believes it is lucky.
Origins: Sernetesen

9) Stefan Jatrowski - Midfielder (Korona Stroławostok), 30

The engine. Jatrowski runs forever, presses endlessly, and stitches together Sernet's transitions with clean, vertical passing. A midfield bulldozer with intelligence to match his stamina.
Origins: Born in Sronisławów-nad-morzem

16) Korolianus Stork - Midfielder, 2nd Vice Captain (Governorate Dameristol), 34

Stork is the tactical brain of the midfield - composed, elegant, and brutally efficient. When the Steamers need control, he supplies it; when they need cool leadership, he embodies it. The team's on-pitch diplomat.
Origins: Lunstrisolt

8) Zbigniew Komstrowski - Midfielder, Vice Captain (Governorate Dameristol), 24

A versatile playmaker who drifts between lines and slices defences open. Komstrowski can operate as a traditional 8, a secondary 10, or even a hybrid winger. Creates sparks out of nothing.
Origins: Sosenystowos

15) Rami Alforez - Midfielder (Club Septingof), 19

Young, explosive, and fearless. Alforez brings raw pace and incisive dribbling to a midfield otherwise filled with veterans. A breakout star in the making with a knack for late runs into the box.
Origins: Septingof

18) Samir Dottman - Midfielder (Setelendisen FC), 26

A disciplined holding midfielder who gives Sernet its backbone. Dottman wins the ball, cycles possession quickly, and anchors the entire system. Not flashy - just essential.
Origins: Setelendisen

7) Wasori Oluwawa - Forward (Stronghold Sernetesen FC), 20

Fast, furious, hungry. Oluwawa is a counterattacking weapon who loves driving straight at defenders. Still very young, but already among the most exciting attacking talents in the entire Metrostocracy.
Origins: Born in Lofnolmesen, moved to Salifermis (Sernetesen)

10) Sporius Bolsting - Forward, Captain (Stronghold Sernetesen FC), 26

The heartbeat of the Steamers. Bolsting is a relentless goalscorer, creative link-man, inspirational leader and emotional compass rolled into one. When Sernet needs a spark, a shove, a rallying cry - it comes from him.
Origins: Sporislau, Sernetesen

I will try to put together more bios soon.

Note:
There are no women in the team staff purely by coincidence, not due to any gender discrimination rules. This is men's football after all, and in Sernet, women tend to prefer working in women's football. However, you do occasionally get female referees or first aiders.

Last cycle

Last World Cup (NSWC 100), which happened to be our debut despite playing in the BoF prior to WC99, we were placed in Group 13 as a team ranked 330th in the multiverse. We were seen more as a participant who was there just for the sake of it, instead of there to win it. That stereotype, the stigma surrounding Sernet as a team fresh out of the BoF, dissolved rapidly when we shot up the table, winning match after match, defeating giants. The Steamers packed a punch and put on a show which was recognised even outside our group. At the end of the qualifiers, Sernet was placed second, topped only by Juvencus. This meant that we were heading for the playoffs, against Paradystopia, the host of this World Cup, for a spot in the World Cup proper. Unfortunately we lost that match, but it was just a small setback in our spectacular run in the World Cup. We rocketed up the rankings from 330th to 128th, and we received the Overachievers' Award for our unexpectedly good performance. We were then invited to the Cup of Harmony (COH92), where unfortunately, despite our excellent performance, we failed to make it out of the group stage. After the CoH, we then took part in the IAC 25, where we made it to the Round of 32, but we were knocked out by host HUElavia. This cycle, following our majestic debut, we must build on our reputation and reach new heights. Which we are more than capable of doing.

Sernet is a large nation famous for its extensive rail network and the nation's skyscrapers and tower blocks. Capital city: Sernetesen. Sernet is a space-capable state and maintains a network of colonies, however it is not your traditional earth-based empire (we are very benevolent). The nation is rich in history and culture (wip) and is extremely patriotic.

Dantopian Men's National Football Team

Disclaimer: Roster and stadium images have been created with the assistance of generative AI.

The Oceanic Paradise of Dantopia is an island nation located in the South Pacific. Dantopia boasts an idyllic tropical landscape, many clean and modern metropolitan areas, a vibrant and bustling tourism industry, along with major contributions from tech, financial services and retail. The Dantopian men's national football team represents the nation in international football. Their inaugural appearance in the South Pacific Cup saw 'the Lions' — as they are sometimes known — winning the competition. Dantopia participated in Baptism of Fire 81, and made the round of 16. They have, so far, failed to advance from the group stages in any of their World Cup qualifiers or Cup of Harmony campaigns. Qualification for a World Cup, therefore, remains the national team's singular aim.

Roster

Thirty-five players have been named for the World Cup 101 qualifying campaign. Manager Rick Bishop will have this pool to choose from for each of the eighteen fixtures in their qualifying group. Below is a table of the players called up for international duty, as well as individual profiles for each of the players below that, categorised by position...

Alex Bullvale
Position(s): Goalkeeper | Age: 34 | Height: 191cm (6'3'') | Weight: 77kg (170 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Right | Club: Kyethas Rivermen FC (Image Tikariot) | Play style: Ball-Playing Keeper | cica.da: @alex.bullvale
International Caps: 20 | Goals: 0 | Assists: 0 | Clean Sheets: 8 | Awards: South Pacific Cup (x1)
Bullvale has spent the past seven years in Tikariot's top-flight with the Rivermen. His composure, and ability to play out from the back are matched by his impressive reach to keep out efforts seemingly destined for the top corners. He is by far Dantopia's most qualified goalkeeper and was the national team's main number 1 in the World Cup 100 qualifying campaign.
ImageImage
Winston Akana
Position(s): Goalkeeper | Age: 28 | Height: 190cm (6'3'') | Weight: 91kg (201 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Right | Club: Vna-Chuhul Ravens FC (Image Tikariot) | Play style: Sweeper Keeper | cica.da: @winst1.akana
International Caps: 1 | Goals: 0 | Assists: 0 | Clean Sheets: 0 | Awards: None
Akana was Lion City FC's first choice for many years before making the switch to Vna-Chuhul alongside Dantopian head coach Iokepa Kaitiaki. The Dantopian-Tumbran dual-national is a more aggressive sweeper keeper, who likes to support his team with long and direct, quarter-back like, long balls from his box. He will more than likely serve as Alex Bullvale's deputy.
ImageImage
Marty Gartner
Position(s): Goalkeeper | Age: 29 | Height: 193cm (6'4'') | Weight: 92kg (203 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Left | Club: Apollo FC (Image Dantopia) | Play style: Line-Holding Goalkeeper | cica.da: @marty.gartner
International Caps: 0 | Goals: 0 | Assists: 0 | Clean Sheets: 0 | Awards: None
Gartner was the third choice goalkeeper in the World Cup 100 qualification run, but never actually earned his first cap for the national team. He is Apollo FC's number 1 in Dantopia's top-flight, and is a more traditional keeper who prefers staying on his line. He's not the strongest cross claimer, with particularly congested corners sometimes being his undoing.
ImageImage
Rigobert Moses
Position(s): Goalkeeper | Age: 25 | Height: 192cm (6'4'') | Weight: 92kg (203 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Right | Club: Dartford City (Image Dantopia) | Play style: Sweeper Keeper | cica.da: @rigobert.moses
International Caps: 0 | Goals: 0 | Assists: 0 | Clean Sheets: 0 | Awards: None
Moses is another more unorthodox goalkeeper in a similar mould to Winston Akana, and is a product of the Dartford City academy. His eagerness to rush off his line, whilst an asset in most instances, can sometimes be his undoing, mostly due to over-enthusiasm. He is however, a capable shot-stopper, and is the youngest of the goalkeeping cohort in this qualifying run.

ImageImage
Keegan Foster
Position(s): Centre Back | Age: 27 | Height: 192cm (6'4'') | Weight: 85kg (187 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Left | Club: Miruan City FC (Image Tikariot) | Play style: Covering Defender / No-Nonsense Defender | cica.da: @keegan.foster
International Caps: 18 | Goals: 1 | Assists: 0 | Clean Sheets: 7 | Awards: None
Foster is a Dantopian-Tikariotion dual-national who has long plied his trade in the TPL as an imposing, aerially dominant centre back. His ability to win aerial duals is a particularly valuable asset in the Dantopian defensive line, especially when paired with more ground dual-oriented partners such as Cromwell or Robinson-Tate. He will be a threat on all set-pieces.
ImageImage
Emerson Cromwell
Position(s): Centre Back | Age: 28 | Height: 188cm (6'2'') | Weight: 80kg (176 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Right | Club: Bul Khungur Miners FC (Image Tikariot) | Play style: Ball-Playing Defender | cica.da: @emerson.cromwell
International Caps: 17 | Goals: 0 | Assists: 0 | Clean Sheets: 7 | Awards: None
Cromwell is another Dantopian-Tikariotian dual-national, and an intelligent and insightful defender. What he may lack in physical profile compared to Keegan Foster, he more than makes up for with recovery speed, solid fundamentals, and excellent ball-playing ability. He was the mainstay partner to Foster in the Dantopian defence in the previous World Cup qualifiers.
ImageImage
Sam Robinson-Tate
Position(s): Centre Back / Right Back | Age: 24 | Height: 188cm (6'2'') | Weight: 77kg (170 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Right | Club: Hondo FC (Image Valanora) | Play style: Covering Defender / Inside Full Back | cica.da: @s.r.t.22
International Caps: 4 | Goals: 0 | Assists: 0 | Clean Sheets: 0 | Awards: None
Robinson-Tate made the switch to the Vanorian Premiership with Hondo FC a few seasons ago, and finished within the Champions League places last season. His Farf partner at the back, Ügüs Hâx, is the more risk-taking of the pair, with Robinson-Tate acting as the cover. His versatility in playing anywhere along the back line will be paramount for the Dantopian defence.
ImageImage
Tyson Taylor
Position(s): Centre Back | Age: 20 | Height: 182cm (6'0'') | Weight: 76kg (168 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Left | Club: Apollo FC (Image Dantopia) | Play style: Covering Defender / Ball-Playing Defender | cica.da: @ty.taylor
International Caps: 2 | Goals: 0 | Assists: 0 | Clean Sheets: 1 | Awards: None
Taylor finally made the transfer away from his boyhood club, the Shoreline Sharks, to join Apollo FC, also in the Dantopian top-flight. He is still a young defender learning his trade, but has picked up many valuable lessons riding the bench for the national team in the last World Cup qualifiers. His left footedness means he is largely the deputy to Keegan Foster.
ImageImage
Makaio Cruz-Richards
Position(s): Centre Back | Age: 25 | Height: 194cm (6'4'') | Weight: 89kg (196 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Right | Club: Dartford Oilers (Image Dantopia) | Play style: Ball-Playing Defender / Non-Nonsense Defender | cica.da: @makaio.cr
International Caps: 0 | Goals: 0 | Assists: 0 | Clean Sheets: 0 | Awards: None
Cruz-Richards is another physical specimen at the back for the Dantopians, and was a key part of the Dartford Oilers championship run last season, helping them boast the third-best defence in the league, to compliment their attack, which was heads and tails above everyone else. His 6'4" frame meant he also contributed to that attack with a few of his own headed goals too.
ImageImage
Joshua Te Rito
Position(s): Centre Back | Age: 27 | Height: 190cm (6'3'') | Weight: 87kg (192 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Right | Club: Grenadiers (Image Dantopia) | Play style: Covering Defender | cica.da: @josh.te.rito
International Caps: 0 | Goals: 0 | Assists: 0 | Clean Sheets: 0 | Awards: None
Te Rito has been a reliable, if not spectacular, piece of the Grenadiers back line for a number of years now, and offers the national team a bit of a 'jack-of-all-trades, master of none' profile. He is tall and strong, has decent pace, and is able to play the ball out from the back fairly comfortably. However, he doesn't quite excel in any one aspect of his game.
ImageImage
Will Cross
Position(s): Right Back / Centre Back | Age: 30 | Height: 179cm (5'10'') | Weight: 78kg (172 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Right | Club: Grenadiers (Image Dantopia) | Play style: Inside Full Back / Wide Centre Back | cica.da: @willcross.2
International Caps: 16 | Goals: 0 | Assists: 1 | Clean Sheets: 6 | Awards: None
Cross is a defensively minded full-back, perhaps in contrast to what his name might suggest. He prefers to tuck inside and form a back three with the other two centre-backs, when deployed in a back-four system. This typically benefits more attacking minded left backs, of which the Dantopian national team have a number of, who are therefore able to venture forward more freely.
ImageImage
Raphael Lacroix
Position(s): Right Back / Left Back | Age: 29 | Height: 183cm (6'0'') | Weight: 72kg (159 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Right | Club: Dartford Oilers (Image Dantopia) | Play style: Wing Back | cica.da: @raph.la.croix
International Caps: 9 | Goals: 0 | Assists: 0 | Clean Sheets: 2 | Awards: None
Lacroix is a versatile wing-back, able to play on either flank equally effectively, though he has certainly played most of his football on the right hand side with Dantopia's top-flight reigning champions, the Dartford Oilers. He possesses quick acceleration and is also a good crosser of the ball, though he isn't the greatest one-on-one defender all the time.
ImageImage
DeAnthony Moorhouse
Position(s): Right Back | Age: 26 | Height: 181cm (5'11'') | Weight: 84kg (185 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Right | Club: Waiakea Warriors (Image Dantopia) | Play style: Wing Back | cica.da: @de.anthony.moorhouse
International Caps: 0 | Goals: 0 | Assists: 0 | Clean Sheets: 0 | Awards: None
Moorhouse, in contrast to Lacroix, is a more one-sided, but defensively solid wing back. He still loves to bomb forward, and is one of the fastest full backs in Dantopian football at least, possessing blistering pace when at full tilt. His crosses can be hit and miss, however, with the defender occasionally applying too much power and sending them well over the box.
ImageImage
Kaleb Kahananui
Position(s): Left Back / Central Midfielder | Age: 20 | Height: 178cm (5'10'') | Weight: 72kg (159 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Left | Club: Vna-Chuhul Ravens FC (Image Tikariot) | Play style: Inverted Wing Back / Mezzala | cica.da: @kaleb.kahananui
International Caps: 17 | Goals: 1 | Assists: 2 | Clean Sheets: 7 | Awards: None
Kahananui is a flexible and multi-skilled left back, with excellent fundamentals. He developed in the Grenadiers academy in a number of positions, including left back, wide midfield and central midfield. He therefore has the ability to invert inside and support the players in the middle of the park frequently. He joined the Vna-Chuhul Ravens in Tikariot a few seasons ago.
ImageImage
Dwight Krol
Position(s): Left Back / Centre Back | Age: 28 | Height: 185cm (6'1'') | Weight: 80kg (176 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Left | Club: Portland Pirates (Image Dantopia) | Play style: Wing Back / Wide Centre Back | cica.da: @dwight.kroll
International Caps: 12 | Goals: 0 | Assists: 1 | Clean Sheets: 1 | Awards: None
Krol was used interchangeably as a left-back or left-sided centre-back early in his career with the Portland Pirates, but has established himself as a proper wing-back back for the All-blacks, able to provide quality balls into the box. The Tumbran-born Kroll's bread and butter is one-on-one defending, though he is at times prone to not checking his shoulder at the far post.
ImageImage
Dalton O'Higgins
Position(s): Left Back / Right Back | Age: 26 | Height: 193cm (6'4'') | Weight: 77kg (170 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Right | Club: Dartford Oilers (Image Dantopia) | Play style: Inverted Wing Back / Complete Wing Back | cica.da: @dalton.o.higgins
International Caps: 0 | Goals: 0 | Assists: 0 | Clean Sheets: 0 | Awards: None
O'Higgins is an offensively minded wing-back, having switched sides from the right to the left within the last few years. He is tall and strong and quick, and breezes past his opposition to provide crosses into the box with either foot. His offensive-minded nature doesn't mean he isn't a capable defender, he is. However, he can sometimes be caught out of position.

ImageImage
Kai Watanabe
Position(s): Defensive Midfielder / Central Midfielder | Age: 26 | Height: 178cm (5'10'') | Weight: 77kg (170 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Left | Club: Portland Pirates (Image Dantopia) | Play style: Ball-Winning Midfielder / Anchor Man | cica.da: @kai.watanabe
International Caps: 11 | Goals: 0 | Assists: 0 | Awards: None
Watanabe is a true workhorse of a midfielder. He is sometimes described as having the legs and lungs of three men, and will work tirelessly to win the ball back for his team. With his incredible engine being his obvious upside, he is sometimes criticised for being a more limited ball progressor, though he very rarely loses the ball, as he prefers to keep his passes simple.
ImageImage
Nehemiah Cunningham
Position(s): Defensive Midfielder / Central Midfielder | Age: 28 | Height: 191cm (6'3'') | Weight: 75kg (165 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Right | Club: Rockport Ravens (Image Dantopia) | Play style: Ball-Winning Midfielder | cica.da: @nehemiah.cunningham
International Caps: 10 | Goals: 0 | Assists: 0 | Awards: None
Cunningham is a more defensively minded midfielder than his older brother Ezra, preferring to hold the midfield shape and allow others the freedom to explore the spaces further up the field. He has stayed true to his native town of Rockport, and continues to be an important member of the Ravens squad to this day. He helped the small town club lift the domestic cup last season.
ImageImage
Ezra Cunningham
Position(s): Central Midfielder | Age: 30 | Height: 186cm (6'1'') | Weight: 75kg (165 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Right | Club: Club ESF (Image Valanora) | Play style: Box-to-Box Midfielder | cica.da: @ezra.cunningham
International Caps: 57 | Goals: 10 | Assists: 8 | Awards: South Pacific Cup (x1)
Cunningham holds the most caps for the Dantopian national team, having broken through at the tender age of 18 in the South Pacific Cup run 12 seasons ago now. A complete midfielder, and a jack of all trades in many respects, Cunningham moved to Valanora to play for Club ESF many seasons ago, and has been a mainstay there. He will serve as the national team captain.

Position(s): Central Midfielder / Attacking Midfielder | Age: 22 | Height: 181cm (5'11'') | Weight: 80kg (176 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Left | Club: Stein-los Turkish (Image Pasarga) | Play style: Box-to-Box Playmaker / Advanced Playmaker | cica.da: @elleby.young
International Caps: 3 | Goals: 0 | Assists: 1 | Awards: None
Young is an agile, technical dribbler, who made the move from Apollo FC to Stein-los Turkish in Pasarga a season ago, serving as deputy behind Pasargan international Sarika Weöres, whom he has been learning the more defensive and box-to-box sides of the game. He is being tapped as a future successor in the Dantopian midfield to the likes of Ezra Cunningham and Johnny Kealoha.
ImageImage
Bradley Bing
Position(s): Central Midfielder / Attacking Midfielder | Age: 19 | Height: 193cm (6'4'') | Weight: 88kg (194 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Right | Club: Portland Pirates (Image Dantopia) | Play style: Box-to-Box Midfielder / Shadow Striker | cica.da: @bradley.bing
International Caps: 0 | Goals: 0 | Assists: 0 | Awards: None
Bing is the son of former national team defender Tyrell Bing, and came through at Team Valiant before making his big move to the Portland Pirates this season. He is a physical specimen and already specialises in third man runs, box crashing, and is an aerial threat. He is also a technically gifted player, with good passing range, and is a future star in the making.
ImageImage
Sam Hughes
Position(s): Central Midfielder / Defensive Midfielder | Age: 23 | Height: 182cm (6'0'') | Weight: 78kg (172 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Right | Club: Dartford Oilers (Image Dantopia) | Play style: Box-to-Box Midfielder / Roaming Playmaker | cica.da: @sam.16.hughes
International Caps: 0 | Goals: 0 | Assists: 0 | Awards: None
Hughes is a product of the Dartford Oilers academy, and is one of those players who just keeps things ticking along nicely. He isn't flashy, but he has a broad passing range and a good head on his shoulders. He typically always makes the smart, risk-averse decision to maintain possession, but this lack of risk taking can sometimes make him feel a little one-dimensional.
ImageImage
Omari Opetaia
Position(s): Central Midfielder / Defensive Midfielder | Age: 28 | Height: 183cm (6'0'') | Weight: 75kg (165 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Right | Club: Waiakea Warriors (Image Dantopia) | Play style: Roaming Playmaker / Box-to-Box Midfielder | cica.da: @omari.opetaia
International Caps: 0 | Goals: 0 | Assists: 0 | Awards: None
Opetaia is another product of the Dartford Oilers academy, though transferred to the Waiakea Warriors many years ago, now serving as the team's vice-captain. His best asset is his vision for long balls, which he can whip towards forward players in a variety of ways, keeping opposition defenders guessing. He is also a diligent defender, and always tracks back to help his team.
ImageImage
Alex St. James
Position(s): Central Midfielder / Attacking Midfielder | Age: 29 | Height: 174cm (5'9'') | Weight: 65kg (143 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Right | Club: Rockport Ravens (Image Dantopia) | Play style: Box-to-Box Playmaker / Advanced Playmaker | cica.da: @alex.st.james
International Caps: 0 | Goals: 0 | Assists: 0 | Awards: None
St. James is a forward thinking playmaker, who rarely passes backwards and is always spurring his team on. He developed at the Grenadiers before trading in the red and white stripes for black and white stripes in Rockport. He is now being deployed slightly further back in the midfield there, but is able to play well as either an attacking midfielder or central midfielder.
ImageImage
Johnny Kealoha
Position(s): Attacking Midfielder / Central Midfielder | Age: 30 | Height: 175cm (5'9'') | Weight: 73kg (161 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Right | Club: Kyethas Rivermen FC (Image Tikariot) | Play style: Advanced Playmaker / Box-to-Box Playmaker | cica.da: @johnny.kealoha
International Caps: 18 | Goals: 4 | Assists: 9 | Awards: None
Kealoha is a classic number 10, and has been a crucial asset for the Rivermen in Tikariot’s top-flight for a number of seasons. Many of Dantopia’s most dangerous attacks will likely be orchestrated by Kealoha, who possesses spectacular passing vision, for both short and long range. He is also a set-piece specialist, and will be on most of Dantopia’s corners and free kicks.
ImageImage
Jeremiah Taramaia
Position(s): Attacking Midfielder / Left Winger | Age: 28 | Height: 177cm (5'10'') | Weight: 71kg (157 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Both | Club: Lion City FC (Image Dantopia) | Play style: Trequartista / Wide Playmaker | cica.da: @miah.maia
International Caps: 0 | Goals: 0 | Assists: 0 | Awards: None
Taramaia is an anomaly, an attacking midfielder who is probably better suited playing out wide, as he likes to drift to the flanks often. His best bet of gaining minutes for the national team will be in one of the wing spots anyway, so this will suit him well. The Dantopian-Tumbran dual-national is an ambipedal, pass-first player, and is also handy from set-pieces.

ImageImage
Adebayo Adeyemi
Position(s): Right Winger | Age: 32 | Height: 178cm (5'10'') | Weight: 65kg (143 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Left | Club: Grenadiers (Image Dantopia) | Play style: Inside Forward / Outlet Winger | cica.da: @adebayo.adeyemi
International Caps: 53 | Goals: 16 | Assists: 10 | Awards: South Pacific Cup (x1)
Adeyemi was always a winger who could utilise his blistering pace to get past opponents, but now that pace is slowly leaving him, he'll perhaps have to resort to his bag of tricks, or smart off-ball movement to continue being a goal threat for the Dantopian national team. Even at the age of 32, however, he's still absolutely a difficult prospect for any full back to mark.
ImageImage
Nico Hollins
Position(s): Right Winger | Age: 28 | Height: 180cm (5'11'') | Weight: 65kg (143 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Left | Club: Portland Pirates (Image Dantopia) | Play style: Outlet Winger / Tracking Winger | cica.da: @nico.hollins
International Caps: 13 | Goals: 0 | Assists: 1 | Awards: None
Hollins is the final Dantopian-Tumbran dual-nationality player listed, and is known equally for both his attacking and defensive work at the Portland Pirates. He loves to beat offside traps and get in behind slower defences, but also puts a shift in marking his own man. He may offer Bishop a potential, more offensive-minded, wing-back option, playing slightly out of position.
ImageImage
Alexander Apeti
Position(s): Right Winger | Age: 19 | Height: 178cm (5'10'') | Weight: 78kg (172 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Left | Club: Mansandani Union PFC (Image Biyambi) | Play style: Inverted Winger / Outlet Winger | cica.da: @alex.apeti
International Caps: 0 | Goals: 0 | Assists: 0 | Awards: None
Apeti is one of a number of young Dantopian players who moved to Biyambian club Mansandani Union PFC last season. He is a lightning quick winger who at the moment is quite one footed, but has lots of room to grow in that regard. He always looks to attack on the counter, and cut inside on his favoured left food. He has a wicked curled shot on him, and can also take set-pieces.
ImageImage
Maverick Johnson
Position(s): Left Winger | Age: 30 | Height: 173cm (5'8'') | Weight: 67kg (148 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Right | Club: Lion City FC (Image Dantopia) | Play style: Outlet Winger / Inverted Winger | cica.da: @maverick.j
International Caps: 14 | Goals: 1 | Assists: 2 | Awards: None
Maverick by name and nature, there is rarely a dull moment when following the life and career of Maverick Johnson. His big money move to Lion City FC hasn't worked out, and he may now be looking to showcase his talents to would-be suiters in the World Cup qualifiers. He's no longer starting for his club, but still curries favour with Rick Bishop and the national team set-up.
ImageImage
Jeremiah Jackson Jr.
Position(s): Left Winger / Centre Forward | Age: 30 | Height: 186cm (6'1'') | Weight: 77kg (170 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Right | Club: Rockport Ravens (Image Dantopia) | Play style: Inside Forward / Advanced Forward | cica.da: @triple.j
International Caps: 10 | Goals: 0 | Assists: 0 | Awards: None
Jackson Jr., or 'Triple J' as he is often monikered in Dantopia, is a fast and agile inside forward, who can also be deployed as a central striker equally effectively. He is well-known for cutting in on his stronger right foot, which can feel like a cannon if you let him fire from distance. Jackson possesses many of the tools, but sometimes lacks consistency with them.
ImageImage
Zaïre Thomas
Position(s): Left Winger | Age: 20 | Height: 185cm (6'1'') | Weight: 80kg (176 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Right | Club: Dartford Oilers (Image Dantopia) | Play style: Inverted Winger / Outlet Winger | cica.da: @zaiire.thomas
International Caps: 0 | Goals: 0 | Assists: 0 | Awards: None
Thomas has seen a meteoric rise at club level, from being an academy graduate last season, to being the primary starter this one. The Dartford Oilers always love to promote from their own ranks, and Thomas is a quiet and humble kid, who likes to let his football do the talking. He is really good at manouvering past his opponents with his quick reflexes and sharp feet.
ImageImage
Bradini Brunson
Position(s): Centre Forward | Age: 28 | Height: 182cm (6'0'') | Weight: 75kg (165 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Right | Club: Lion City FC (Image Dantopia) | Play style: Complete Forward | cica.da: @bradini.9.brunson
International Caps: 18 | Goals: 9 | Assists: 1 | Awards: None
Brunson was named by his football-loving parents after legendary Starblaydian player Simeone Di Bradini, and whilst it may be impossible to ever live up to a name and reputation like that, he has been the clear first-choice striker for the national team in recent years. He offers a very direct style of attack, and looks to stay on the shoulder of his defenders at all times.
ImageImage
Zeke Edwards
Position(s): Centre Forward | Age: 21 | Height: 193cm (6'4'') | Weight: 82kg (181 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Left | Club: Waiakea Warriors (Image Dantopia) | Play style: Target Forward | cica.da: @zeke.edwards
International Caps: 8 | Goals: 2 | Assists: 0 | Awards: None
Edwards is able to provide power and precision where the likes of Brunson and Jackson Jr. offer pace. A more traditional target man in every sense, Edwards thrives on playing with his back to goal, flicking the ball onto the faster forwards around him, and he also has a knack for being in the right spot at the right time for any cut-backs or crosses into the box.
ImageImage
Negan Nakoa
Position(s): Centre Forward | Age: 20 | Height: 183cm (6'0'') | Weight: 77kg (170 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Right | Club: San Vanipola FC (Image Dantopia) | Play style: Advanced Forward | cica.da: @negan.nakoa
International Caps: 0 | Goals: 0 | Assists: 0 | Awards: None
Nakoa is a graduate of the Chester Chiefs academy, though played his football in Division 2 last season with Māra Islands outfit, San Vaniola FC. He since helped the club win promotion to the top-flight, and will be similarly looking to impress on the international stage. It is likely he won't be long for San Vanipola FC, and will move on to bigger and brighter things soon.

Manager & Tactics

Rick Bishop assumed the role of national team manager two years ago, before the beginning of the World Cup 100 qualifying campaign. The former national team back-up goalkeeper followed in the footsteps of Harold Northgate, who successfully led the Lions to the South Pacific Cup championship. Bishop's squad narrowly failed to qualify for World Cup 100, and were also eliminated from the group stages of Cup of Harmony 92. With an initial 35-man roster listed for the qualifying campaign, Bishop may look to experiment with his line-ups, but any starting line-up will always be provided prior to a match. Below is a profile of the national team manager, and a breakdown of his preferred tactics...

ImageImage
Rick Bishop
Role: National Team Manager | Age: 41 | Height: 199 cm (6'6")
Preferred formation(s): 4-3-3, 4-2-3-1, 3-4-2-1 | Nationality Image Dantopia | cica.da: @rick.b1shop
Matches managed: 20 | Won: 8 | Drawn: 6 | Lost: 6 | Goals For: 33 | Goals Against: 23 | Goal Difference: +10 | Awards: None
Bishop was the long-standing goalkeeper for East Bay United in Dantopia, before a late career switch to Tikariot's top-flight with both the Emerald Coast Raiders and Baraldhur FC. It was at Baraldhur where Bishop particularly shone, and he helped the Dragons win an unlikely TPL championship in season 112. He quickly pivoted to management following his retirement.

Style Mod: +1.5

Styles of play:

Two distinct styles of play that the team regularly fluctuate between, and a strong emphasis on set-pieces

    • In possession:
Structured; distinct patterns of play when building out from the back; emphasis on keeping possession of the ball; two advanced midfielders occupy gaps between the opposition midfield and defence; wingers use entire width of the pitch to stretch opposition defence; moderately high defensive line to push up the pitch, putting pressure on the opposition and creating an offside trap
    • In transition:
Fast and direct; forward players stay high up the pitch to provide outlets for long balls either from the back or from the midfield; emphasis on exploiting the pace of forward players to attack the defence; focus on outside to in as the point of attack; late runs into the box from the two advanced midfielders; rest defence don't advance and provide structure in case of losing possession
    • Set pieces:
Strong set-piece specialists in the team (J. Kealoha, J. Taramaia); a multitude of carefully orchestrated set-piece plays; good aerial threats (K. Foster, M. Cruz-Richards, D. O'Higgins, B. Bing, Z. Edwards); J. Kealoha and J. Taramaia take corners and free kicks; B. Brunson takes penalties; D. O'Higgins and A. St. James serve as alternative set-piece takers
Expected Strongest Starting Eleven
A. Bullvale — S. Robinson-Tate — E. Cromwell — K. Foster — K. Kahananui — K. Watanabe — E. Cunningham (C) — J. Kealoha — A. Adeyemi — B. Brunson — J. Taramaia

Manufacturer: Nerio (Image Dantopia)
Material: 100% recycled polyester
Additional details: All Nerio football kits are made with polyester sourced from ocean plastics, part of Nerio's 'cliMATE' campaign.

Dantopia's traditional home colours are a navy shirt with white shorts and red socks. The away strip is a a white shirt with blue shorts and white socks. The third strip is an all-black ensemble (with black shorts and black socks too). In the event of shorts and socks kit clashes in an away fixture, alternative coloured shorts and socks are sometimes used (such as the navy home strip with navy shorts and red socks to avoid a clash with a team with white shorts etc.)

Qualifying Round Stadiums

Six different stadiums will be tasked with hosting the national team during the World Cup 101 qualifying campaign, one of which is the Dantopian National Team's official home stadium; the other five serve as home grounds for Division 1 teams. The six arenas are spread across four different cities — those being Lion City (the capital); Dartford; Portland; and Waiakea. The stadiums hosting the national team (listed in order of capacity — largest to smallest) are as follows...

Roster for Cycle 101
Style Modifier: -5

Nicknamed the Bulls, Audioslavia's national football team are renowned for being 'scrappy' and 'ugly' and 'downright cheats'. Here is a brief guide to the current team, and how to interact with them.

Henchmen
The guys there to be made to look silly by your star players and goalscorers.

Goalkeeper
The guy leaping through the air, flailing forlornly at the ball as it evades his grasp
Ruy Palma (23, GK, AC Izotz Zubia) Nicknamed “Hologram hands” by fans of his club, Audioslavia has a bit of a drought when it comes to keepers, especially now that Hein Helder has retired from international football. Palma is apparently the best we have on offer in that position now. Ruy played his deputy for cycle 100, but has now been given the number 1 jersey.

The Hammer-Thrower
A hammer-thrower is a big lumbering shit-house whose only strength is strength. This is the ugly villain your star player outmanoeuvres and outwits
João-Fernando Gostamuito (30, CB, Bombarralense)
João is a grunter. You can tell he's behind you because there's this endless torrent of guttural insults flying at you, occasionally accompanied by the dull thud of his knuckles hitting the ground. What Gostamuito lacks in intelligence, speed, agility, intelligence, personality, fair play and intelligence, he makes up for in the sheer size of his massive hands. He should have been a goalkeeper, but he's a centre half who hates foreigners. Sometimes grows his fingernails long and offers a free tattoo removal service to strikers while awaiting corner kicks. Can be made to look very silly indeed by any attacker with even a thimbleful of elan.

Angry defender who points and shouts when things go wrong
The guy who allocates the blame while your hero celebrates
Goran Yurán (24, CB, Old Shakerssen’s [TAX])
Like Gostamuito, he constantly talks shit throughout the game. Unlike Gostamuito, he’s not made of ogre DNA. Nevertheless, Goran is one of nature’s natural arseholes, and his arseholery is all the more pronounced for having recently scored the winning goal in the World Cup 99 Final. In extra time. From about 40 yards.

Mr. Broken Ankles
The guy your winger leaves on his butt as he makes his way down the wing.
Gryff Gould (30, LB, Old Shakerssen’s [TAX])
Well-travelled by the standards of the players in this team, in that he’s played for two foreign clubs (Hondo FC [VAL] and Old Shakerssen’s [TAX]), Gould is a typical Audioslavian full-back in that he’s short, tenacious and seemingly once entered into a blood feud with the entire concept of ‘ankles of foreign wingers’. The only way to stop him stamping on your winger’s ankles is to be too fast for him to do so. In other words, if you can make ‘Mr. Broken Ankles’ refer to Gryff as he twists himself in a knot trying to chase your winger, you’re good.

The Violent Cheat
The guy who can’t help but give away free kicks and penalties
Koren Lorentzen (30, RB/CB, KT Itzalovalle)
Not a Ko-orenite despite the name, yet nevertheless likes defensive football, conlangs and art-rock. Koren isn’t particularly quick, and so has to slow down opponents in order to keep up. As such, he’s had his hands on the collars of more football shirts than a sweatshop seamstress.

Heroes
The guys finding just about enough time to create and convert chances in between appearing in adverts and checking their hair. Audioslavia play ‘on the counter’, which means we’re at our most effective when turning defence into attack.

Alarmingly fast wingback
This guy’s entire job is to sprint down the wing when counterattacking. Maybe he’s carrying the ball out of defence himself, maybe he’s appearing on the blindside to receive the ball in attack. Either way, he’s diminutive, annoying and ridiculously fast.
Uriah Malcolm (33, RB, 1830 Cathair)
Malcom had spent a few years moving from ‘tiny rapid wing-back' to ‘undersized yet capable centre half’, yet the emergence of the back-three partnership of Lorentzen, Yuran and Gostamuito has pushed him back over to the flank, where he’s expected to get up and down the wing like he’s 20, which he isn’t, so while he still loves getting forward, he’s less inclined to make the journey back at any real pace. Fans have seen Malcom’s 5’4 frame in Audioslavia’s back line for ages now, so long as he isn’t standing behind a plantpot or something.

Accursed Elbow Windmill
A forward player whose main job is to kick, spit, pinch, gouge, jab, knee, niggle and, as the name suggests, elbow your defenders as hard as possible without the referee seeing. The resulting diminished stamina and morale bar can be taken advantage of by the other forwards.
Denzel Keegan (30, AM, Old Shakerssen’s [TAX])
A master of the dark arts. Known to grow his nails long on his pinching fingers. Once gave a striker a monkey scrub while waiting for a corner and somehow earned a free-kick himself for his trouble. When you see him for the first time, you think he’s angry. Then, you realise he has that thing wherein his forehead is naturally wrinkled in such a way that it looks like he has a permanent scowl. Finally, you realise that no, you were right the first time, this guy is perpetually furious.

Captain Hollywood
The Hollywood Pass is a long, curling ball, ideally hit with the outside of the player’s weaker foot, whose entire purpose is to make onlookers go ‘oh gosh what a great pass’. If the pass ends in a goalscoring opportunity, that’s a bonus.
Govran Bastarretxea (31, AM, KT Moreazerua)
Deeply tanned but with mid-length auburn hair, Govran is the most attractive player in the Audioslavian team, which is like being the healthiest bucket of offal in the abbatoir. Makes up in confidence what he lacks in skill. Claims to be able to land a long pass on a sixpence from fifty yards, but time spent going and setting up such a trickshot is time Govran will spend chatting up your girlfriend.

The Geometrist
Captain Hollywood’s nerdy sidekick, the geometrist’s job is to play a perfectly weighted five-yard pass along the ground into exactly the perfect position for a team-mate to take a shot. If Captain Hollywood spends his entire life in the middle of the pitch looking in every direction for a long, curling pass, The Geometrist is found on the edge of the penalty area, looking for a way to play a delicate pass along the ground to a destination nobody but the striker expects.
Cam Hooper (25, AM, Shamrock Cathair)
A bald wizard, he seems to be able to create space on a pitch just by shifting his weight from one side to the other. Cam lets his football do the talking, which everyone who’s heard his accent is grateful for. Has one of those unfortunate resting fly-catcher faces and, as such, tends to dribble while he dribbles.

The Blunderbus
Big lad. Make goal with head. Kick footballs hard. No conjugate verbs.
Kjartan Lúnquerque (34, CF, Old Shakerssen’s [TAX])
At six foot three he’s enormous for an Audioslavian. Smashes the ball as hard as he can, hopefully goalwards, at any opportunity. He does this so reliably that his team-mates often refuse to give him the ball unless he’s in or around the area, or at least facing the goal.

Extras
For the sake of completionism. Or, in other words: A team should probably have eleven players in it, and some subs to boot.

The Water Carrier
Take ball from henchman, give to hero.
Rayo Forster (20, DM, AC Izotz Zubia. Barely 5’6, bundles of energy, could get booked for shirt-pulling in a skins vs shirts match. Another in a long line of annoying high-energy low-talent Audioslavian DMs. Passes the ball sideways a lot. Likes to have the occasional shot from 35 yards but has yet to score one.

The World’s First AI Footballer!
You’d think Audioslavia's Football Association wouldn't fall hook, line and sinker for a breathlessly overconfident sales pitch from the burstiest of AI bubble start-ups, but here we are. Oh, and for the phrase 'World's First AI Footballer' to be true, you'll have to ignore the various robot footballers that have played in the World Cup over the years, so go ahead and do that please cheers
Bily Giı:lllppy ($39, Rƒƒ, ıÎ8Ç Catttrh) is like most AIs, in that he does not exist outwith a few poorly compressed image files included in a press release put together by Chat JPG, an Audioslavian start-up that has recently laid down so much astroturf they could skin the knee of god. Images of his face have lead even Starblaydis to call him ‘unrealistically handsome’, which makes him the least Audioslavian looking person alive. Or, in this case, not alive. Chat JPG are pushing for Giı:lllppy to start games in qualifying. If this happens, Audioslavia’s team will basically be playing with ten men. Because, to reiterate, Bily Giı:lllppy is a player that does not exist. Also, he looks vaguely different in each of the 1400 test renders of his likeness.
What he lacks in existence, he makes up for in public image. It’s estimated that 4% of all journalism in Audioslavia is now dedicated to wild predictions about what ramifications ‘the sudden emergence of AI superstar footballer Bily Giı:lllppy’ will have on football, and on the livelihoods of what Chat JPG calls ‘legacy footballers’
You may think it’s preposterous that AI footballers will take over the job of real ones, but this Bullsfeed article says otherwise

Substitutes
This isn't all the available substitutes, just a selection of players from the rest of the squad.
Rory Riou (19, CB, 1830 Cathair) Too young to be lumbered with the derogatory nickname of ‘hammer thrower’, at 5’8 much too short to be a hammer thrower, and so pundits are trying their damnedest to say something about else about Rory. The best they’ve got is that he excelt in mallet casting, cudgel chucking and gavel heaving.
Jordi-Evelin Parliament-Funkadelic (19, RB/RW, 1830 Cathair) Mother Earth is pregnant for the third time, for y'all have knocked her up. I have tasted the maggots in the mind of the universe. I was not offended. For I knew I had to rise above it all, or drown in my own shit. Gets in down the channels and likes to have a go at the full-back.
Jan Poulsson (23, CF, Oljestaden IF) Elbow-thrower. To be used when chasing the game.
Wynn De Vos (21, CB/RB, Oljestaden IF) Injury sub. Boring even by the standards of a second choice right-back.
Leyton Mogue (18, CM, 1830 Cathair) To be used as a last resort when losing. Highly rated CM yet to have been put through Basic Training, the system which turns young footballers from skilful diminutive artisans with a wide-eyed love for football to hardened criminals with an unhealthy obsession with the shinbones of foreigners.
Leandro Róbison (30, AM/CF, KT Itzalovalle) Injury sub. When he’s about to come onto the field, one of your mates goes ‘oh god not this guy’ and your other mate goes ‘this guy’s awesome just you wait and see’ and then he just does nothing.

About Audioslavia

Formed in December 2002, Audioslavia is one of the oldest nations on NS. An entrant into World Cup 4, it's also one of the oldest football teams in existence.

The side are famed for losing finals, having lost the finals of editions 12, 19, 20, 29, 67, 69 and 76. There have been some bright spots on the way, though. We won World Cups 63 and 64, and are somehow the reigning champions having come from absolutely nowhere to win World Cup 99.
In addition to these three World Cup titles, the side have won five regional championships (4x AOCAF Cup, 1x CAFA Cup), a Cup of Harmony and a Baptism of Fire trophy. We're one of only five sides to have won the 'Grand Slam' of all three WCC titles plus a regional, and we're the only side to have finished in all three medal positions in all possible major senior tournaments.

Style of Play
Post Football is the name given to Audioslavia's style of play. It's based on the idea that, the less the game resembles football, the more ill at ease your opponents will be. Audioslavia play dirty, sideways and overly cautiously.
Kontrapuntzeka is another word for Audioslavia's style of play. Literally meaning counter-attacking, Audioslavia's national team are comfortable playing without the ball and charging forward in numbers when they do finally get it. Each player on this team has a deep understanding of how, when and where to attack on the counter. Losing the ball and allowing the Bulls to hit you on the break has been fatal to many a top ten team throughout history.
Our footballers tend to be on the shorter, leaner side, with everyone outside of the goalie, centre forward and centre half topping out at about 5'10.
Audioslavian footballers are often tenacious, with the highest levels of stamina you'll see in world football. Audioslavian sides are often capable of playing at a high-tempo for long periods of time, and wins are often through attrition rather than skill.
Audioslavian teams are notorious for gamesmanship - the bending of the rules in order to gain an advantage. Players will taunt, feign injury, surround the referee, basically anything if it seems like it'd be beneficial. Audioslavians feel no shame in this. As far as they're concerned, their willingness to go further than the other team is a sign that they're more dedicated than their opponents might be. What might be considered dishonourable behaviour for you might be considered normal in Audioslavia.
Audioslavian teams fear losing. It's our greatest weakness and, given how this fear manifests itself in big games, a powerful irony
As well as lacking a bit of raw power, Audioslavian footballers often lack technique compared to their foreign counterparts. Nobody in the team is stationary and expecting a pass to feet. Passes are played into roughly the space the player will be sprinting into. When the side are countering, it's all speed-speed-speed.
Above all else though, what Audioslavian national teams often lack is heart. The worse things are going, the worse Audioslavians play. They're the classic bully. When things don't pan out as they expect, they retreat physically and mentally.

The Manager
The hot-seat is occupied by former Cazadores Cathair manager Salvador Monterroso, a man who was semi-famous a while ago as a player for being one of the many stars of hit documentary A Tale of Two Cathairs. Monterroso spent almost all his career at Cazadores Cathair, if not always in the actual first eleven. A limited player, he'd temporarily move abroad to FC Capri later in his career, but would eventually return to finish his career at Caza. After going into management with Union Cathair, he eventually earned a job as manager back at Cazadores and would lead them to two league titles.

The only possible team that could have tempted him away was the national team, where he'd eventually succeed Winfridh as manager at the end of cycle 97, guiding the team to a third place finish in the Cup of Harmony as his first port of call. Under his stewardship, the team qualified for World Cup 98, where they were entirely ineffective, but bounced back to a third place finish in the CAFA Cup before winning World Cup 99 in unfathomable circumstances. As such, Monterroso is an unlikely candidate for the title of greatest Bulls manager in history.

Stadium
The Beltzarga in Glassbridge, Cathair, is a modern but monstrous stadium. As square as a brutalist rubix cube, but made of glass from the outside, it' would make a beautiful modern art museum but a slightly annoying stadium. For every brand new spangly thing it has, there are two bewildering design decisions that make such a thing redundant. Like, sure, the commentators all have a big touch-screen each in front of them, but good luck getting them to work in inclement weather, and the seats are so uncomfortable you'll have cut off your blood supply to your legs by half time.

Overview

The Federation of Masraya is a modern federal constitutional monarchy consisting of 12 sultanates across the Kencananusa Archipelago and northern Kalamantha Island in Mandalanusa. The country is a melting pot where native Samuderans mix with the Indussians and Yues, who were brought to Masraya by the colonists hundreds of years ago. This diversity is visible in everyday life throughout the country. It is normal for you to see mosque, temple and church sits in the same compound as well as Samuderan dishes alongside Indussian and Yue cuisine in the same restaurant.

The largest city in Masraya is Kuala Titiwangsa. This is where all away teams will play in Masraya. It is home to 8.5 million people, a quarter of the country's total population. The weather in the city is hot and humid all year round. However, it is normal for it to rain suddenly out of nowhere. I kid you not, this happen almost every day. But don't worry, the moment the first raindrop hits the ground, someone will be there to offer you an umbrella for RM5.

The playground, which is mandatory for real estate developers to build in every housing area, is where people from all backgrounds hangout at especially late in the evening. And in almost every playground in every housing area in Masraya, football is the game everyone is playing. Despite the popularity of football in the country, this will only be the first time Masraya has ever formed a national team.

Stadium

Masraya National Stadium
Masraya National Stadium
Location: Kuala Titiwangsa, Federal Territories of Masraya
Capacity: 90,000

All the home matches of Masraya will be played in the Masraya National Stadium. We spent more than RM1 billion to build this. We are going to make full use of that money by using this stadium as much as possible on everything. Yes, everything. Not just football. Everything. Athletics. National celebrations. Concerts. Circus. Everything.

Sometimes, it is at the expense of the quality of the pitch. Yes, it happened before. Once, a concert was held in the stadium just a few days before the final of the Masraya Cup causing the final to be played on an uneven field. The people were angry but the management don't care. That was not the first time it happened and probably won't be the last time either.

Nevertheless, every football match ever held in this stadium has always been sold out. Yes, that was only once a year before this. But still, every single edition of the final of Masraya Cup was sold out since it was first played in this stadium over 2 decades ago. You can expect the stadium to be full again for national team matches. The national team will be backed by the Ultras Masraya who will occupy the end behind the goal with their drums and chants.

GRACIOUS STATE OF KANZLIA ROSTER

OFFICIAL TEAM ROSTER
WORLD CUP 101

MEMBER ASSOCIATION: Voetbal Vereniging Kanzlia (VVK)
NICKNAME: Prowlers
REGION: Esportiva
TRIGRAMME: KNZ

MODIFIER: +2.8

Kanzlia, formally recognised as Gracious Kanzlian State, is an island ceremonial kingdom on the far north of Esportiva. The country is divided into 10 provinces. Its main island, Kalta, consists of nearly 85% of the country's population whilst the smaller islands of Serentia and the Kureii islands makes up the rest. The seat of power in Kanzlia is Szbedansk, which just so happens to house the largest port. It’s followed by the cities of Kotr, Mistralis, and Ibsia.

Kanzlia is known to most Esportivans as that country that builds every ship floating (slight exaggeration) and for its eel-eating inhabitants. Other than that the country is well known for its maritime history, ecosystem, and the cold.

The Kanzlian Football Association (Also known as Voetbal Vereniging Kanzlia) was founded in 1900 but Kanzlian Football, in its current pyramid, was only finalised in the 1990s. Prior to this, a double league system was utilised. Anyhow, football is by far the most popular sport in Kanzlia with stadiums jam-packed full in every match of the season. Kanzlia with its history of hardships and prolonged periods of misery has resulted in a deep connection between the sport and Kanzlian society. The culture of the sport is one of fiery passion but also with a noticeable aspect of humbleness. A pundit said that Kanzlians are the sorest of losers during the 90 minutes, but once the game ends they switch back to normal often with an optimistic mood regardless of the result.

Q u i c k F a c t s
-- Kanzlia play their home games in the -Stadia Szbedansk- which can seat -53,280- spectators
-- Kanzlia are back-to-back Esportivan champions with their recent Campionato Esportiva 42 win!
-- Kanzlia topped their World Cup qualification group in the last edition
-- Kanzlia made it as far as to the Round of 32 in the last edition, knocked out there by Baker Park 2-0
-- Kanzlia lost to Indusse in the final of a Solgavden hosted pre-tournament friendly tournament
-- Alcohol is pretty expensive in Kanzlia, drinking is a bit taboo
-- Seafood forms the basis of Kanzlian cuisine, so careful if anyone has a fish allergy

Number, Rank, Name, Position, Age, Domestic Team (County Football Club)

Staff

Jonathan Luciani - Manager - 45
Mike Lindon - Goalkeeping Coach - 50
Sara Humesail - Fitness Coach - 27
Nigel McWinters - Coach - 57
Grant Shippersley - Coach - 36
Harper Littern - Physio - 31
Stepen Crieps - Physio – 45 (Stepen is pronounced 'Steven', though 'Steven' is adamant his name 'has a “p” in it' (WC101 update - Stepven tells us that while his name does have a p in it - and he is quite insistent on this - it's actually been transcribed incorrectly here - we hope we have this right now!))

Note that the starters wear shirts 1 – 11

Bostopia plays a standard 4–4–2 formation, with two central midfielders, one of whom will hold their position in attack, and drop back a little when out of possession. The second central midfielder is more likely to join attacks going forward, running into the gaps between your midfielders and your defenders.

The Bostopian side plays a quick passing game made up largely of shorter passes, believing the best defence is a good offence, and you can't score if we have the ball*. While we favour possession, the team is both intelligent enough and indeed capable of taking calculated risks, playing longer passes or even passes 'over the top' into space for strikers or wingers to run onto if the chance is there.

You'll note that Bostopia are the Anaian World Champions, or World Champions of Anaia. Which one we are really all depends on where you are on the Newford/t debate. Where do you stand? Newfort or Newford? Newford or Newford? Let me know by TG to receive some sort of response, probably!

Our style of play took us to being champions of CAFA13, in a nation which one day woke up and decided that 'Audioslavia' was a perfectly sound name to call themselves.

It wasn't.

Mertagne's a stupid name too while we're at it.

Anyway. Back to the point. Our tactics won us CAFA13 so any suggestion we should change from those will be looked upon with scorn and derision. They're clearly one of the most coherant parts about this entire thing so it's probably best they stay, yes?

Kits

Home, Away, and Third

Image Image Image

Kits are self explanatory – they are the shirt designs that all ten of our outfield players will wear (and substitutes when entering the field at the appropriate time). They will all wear the same shirt design at the same time. Our goalkeepers will wear a plainly-designed shirt in a flourescent colour which we feel your players will dislike the most. Please inform us in advance of any colours particularly offensive to your nation so we can amend our kits and/or colours accordingly. If we were playing Bettia at home OR away, for example, we would very gladly wear our red kits and probably change our flag to red (what a lark that would be) very especially for the occasion.

For those of you who are triggered by images of football shirts, or living under a dystopian champagne-socialist north-of-the-river Government who is blocking websites hosting images, Bostopia will play in our traditional lime home kit with one white and one blue v-stripe, an away kit consisting of a red shirt with a double white v-stripe, a third kit of a blue shirt with one white and one red v-stripe.

If your team is not designated as the home team, and your colours clash with ours, you will change your kits to an alternative, or be roundly mocked and scorned by everyone starting with us. That we need to say this is nothing short of ridiculous, but our players will of course also wear shorts, socks, shinpads and boots. The shorts and socks will match the primary colour of the shirt. The shorts all have a white stripe on the left and right side, over the seam. The socks will have two white hoops at the top of the sock. If any of the shorts or socks clash, we will change them to something appropriate.

Important Information for Hosts & RP'ers

In the event my opponent posts an RP first, they may:

Select my scorers — Yes
Give out yellow cards to my players — Yes
Give out red cards to my players — Yes
RP injuries to my players — Yes
Godmod injuries — No
Godmod scoring events — Yes
Godmod other events — Yes

We OPT OUT of regional qualifiers and will face whoever dares want to visit

Do whatever you want basically, just don't kill/maim/etc. An RP that makes me laugh would make me eternally grateful.

*unless we accidentally kick the ball into our own goal, we suppose.

Style: -2

Manager: Bishen Varadarajan. Formerly of Namiri Independent, who (at the time of his hiring) were the newest contender among the "best clubs not named Ephesian." While this aproach is likely to promote better team cohesion (and obedience to the laws of the game) than the alternative, it is unclear whether it is actually a recipe for success. Varadarajan seems to be vaguely envious of baseball's advanced statistics, and tries to rip off advanced sizbermetric projections for football purposes, to mixed results.

Thanks to Ko-oren for the three-trait summary approach.

Goalkeepers:
1. Tinn Jejue (FTC United) (m) (first tournament: WC97 Q) cranky, babbles, hypochondriac
12. Frank Olmsted (Rovers United) (m) (first tournament: WC97 Q) absentminded, fidgety, makes easy plays hard
23. Silas Exordan (Keppal Cosmos) (m) (first tournament: WC100 Q) persistent, quiet, voluminous
24. Lorna Powys (Canbix Muses) (f) (first tournament: WC100 Q) cruel, insufferable, self-disciplined

Defenders:
2. Sohini Dravid (Namiri Independent) (f) (3 goals) (first tournament: WC97 Q) judgmental, contrarian, polyglot
3. Gretchen Lavenza (FTC United) (f) (first tournament: WC97 Q) flirtatious, selfless, injury-prone
4. Oriana Euchre-Smith (Rovers United) (f) (first tournament: WC101 Q) intelligent, paranoid, early riser
5. Camille Sibelius (Canbix Muses) (f) (1 goal) (first tournament: CoH 90) daydreamer, hesitant, good dribbler
13. Judy Pax-Tungsten (Keppal Cosmos) (f) (first tournament: WC100 Q) distractable, conflict-averse, tireless
14. Minerva Gerdt-Arbden (Canbix Muses) (f) (1 goal) (first tournament: WC99 Q) sneaky, wiry, meticulous towards nutrition
15. Kachra Prabhu (Namiri Independent) (m) (1 goal) (first tournament: WC100 Q) physical, acclimatizes well, photogenic
16. Lobsang Pokhriyal (Namiri Forest) (m) (2 goals) (first tournament: WC98 Q) keen sense of timing, equinamous, don't-rock-the-boat
25. Friedemann Rawls-Hutchins (FTC United) (m) (first tournament: WC101 Q) pacifist, good at headers, slow-paced

Midfielders:

7. Chloe Flen-Willis (Ephesian FC) (f) (13 goals) (first tournament: WC97 Q) tall, sociable, rule-bender
8. Callan Regins-Ybou (Sporting Esper) (m) (5 goals) (first tournament: WC98 Q) potty-mouth, cunning, pet dad
9. Narayan Thorlakson (Namiri Independent) (m) (4 goals) (first tournament: WC98 Q) fastidious, idiosyncratic, musical

19. Arayha Praepan (FTC United) (f) (first tournament: WC101 Q) deliberate, timid, creature of habit
20. Dimitros Kalnis (Canbix Muses) (m) (1 goal) (first tournament: WC100 Q) hirsute, sentimental, injury-prone
21. James MacKarness (Ephesian FC) (m) (first tournament: WC101 Q) superstitious, charismatic, ambitious

Forwards:
11. Brunnhilde Lavrans (Ephesian FC) (f) (25 goals) (first tournament: WC98 Q) bruiser, envious, loudmouthed

26. Virginia Aksnes (Canbix Muses) (f) (8 goals) (first tournament: CoH 90) confrontational, diva, likes night games

Numbers 1-11 are the most likely starting eleven, and 24-26 less likely to see playing time unless there are injuries, but do whatever.

This was last updated prior to WC100 qualifying and thus is slightly out of date, but also at the time of this writing the site is down so you can't access it anyway to see that it's out of date. In case that changes, fair warning.
We have a wiki page. (Subpage with player details, subpage with history)

Colors: White with black stripes. Or black with white stripes. We go for the basics.

Zwangzug officially have no nickname, but are increasingly likely to respond to "Zebras" from other teams' fans (this is the official name of their baseball national team).

If RPing first, please feel free to name goalscorers, injure, and distribute cards to my players at will! You can also godmod events, though I'd appreciate advance warning if you want to take narrative liberties that I couldn't just as easily do to your team (due to being, e.g., a mostly-MT, mostly-human country). Put another way, metaphorical "godmodding" is welcome if clever, but I'd avoid the literal sense. Also, do not cause lasting harm in my country and/or to my citizens without contacting me first.

WC101 specific note: I will be out seeing the world until mid-May and unlikely to RP much. Nothing personal! Good luck to our opponents and have fun RPing.

I have a lot of emotions about penguin eggs and the flawed but hopeful approach to scientific research by doing such foolhardy things as going to look for penguin eggs, in Antarctica, in the winter, as made famous by Apsley Cherry-Garrard's "The Worst Journey in the World." If you're sick of me making allusions to this episode and the history of Antarctic exploration more broadly, I'm not sorry. I can and will enter stealth puppets in other tournaments and rhapsodize emotionally, but ironically, about historical figures noteworthy for their stoicism and understatement, that is how invested in this penguin egg plotline I am. There is no escape. You have been warned.

Libegeist National World Cup Team!

Libegeist has made it to the World Cup, after bureaucracy levels of inner-nation turmoil! They are here to prove it to the other bigshots that they are not afraid to like soccer, as much as every other nation! They are the Libegeist National World Cup Team and they are playing against many hot and heavy teams. Don't let these newcomers fool you, they are still ones to get it down.

As an extra bonus, we are pleased to announce that despite heavy national security measures, due to the recent Red Rock attacks, we are still proud to open up the state-of-the-art Millay Stadium. Nestled within the Appalachian State Park as part of a deal with the park officials for tourism bargains, this stadium is one of the biggest in Libegeist and shall be used to have the Away teams make themselves known. Just no terrorist attacks on us, or we will sic the Homeland Security Agency on you. Little homicidal dictator psychopaths, we are onto you...

As tradition, Libegeist will be identifiable to fans with their black and white uniforms.

About Yangchenia

Yangchenia, officially the Dragon Empress's Domain of Yangchenia, primarly located on two planets. It is an absolute monarchy and a theocracy, and is considered by some as Lacia's only necrocracy, as its laws are influenced by the decree of its first Empress Yangchen. Situated in the isolated northeastern continent of Msalka, it is bordered by the Queendom of Gesaria to it's West, the Altanul Nomadic Horde to it's southwest, the Voghulian State of Greatdux to it's east and the Khanate of Kungaria to it's south. Yangchenia is one of the least densely populated on Lacia, with a population at around 24,120,094 million people as of the 2024 census, despite having almost 2 million sqkm of land.

Despite being a small country, Yangchenia leads Lacia in the space race, with the country being one of the most advanced yet also very traditional. [2]The nation dedicated 10% of its annual budget to research, while a whopping 46% of the annual budget is allotted for Spirituality, as the nation is very religious, with the majority of the population adhering to the Yanginist Faith.

According to ancient religion, life in Yangchenia arrived from another dimension. On Lacia it occupies around 2,000,000 sq km of land and is mostly composed of mountainous terrain to the South, with the rest of the country being dominated by snowy tundra. Yangchan, Yangchenia's Lacian Capital, is the northernmost capital on Lacia, while the main capital is situated in the city of Yangchen. However, since 1200AD, both realms have functioned separate from each other.

The Guul-La Dynasty is the current rulers of Yangchenia and have continuously maintained power for over 4000 years. Emerging over 5000 years ago, Yangchenia is one of Lacia's oldest nations, and home to many old civilizations. It's capital is the northernmost capital on Lacia.

Football in Yangchenia - the Blazing Dragons

Football as a sport is not that prevalent in Yangchenia, with the nation's most popular sport being different kinds of martial arts, from Kung Fu, Taekwondo, and even native martial arts such as Dailu - a form of martial art that involves rudimentary weapons such as sticks, slippers, and basically anything. However since the rise of globalization, and the popularity of football across Lacia, the sport has gradually begun entering Yangini sporting culture. The nation's first national football tournament was held in the 1960's shortly after the culmination of the Yangchenian Civil War - a time of great chaos in the nation. The Yangchenia Blazing Dragons was founded on 20 April 1969, by Weng Zhidao, as Yangchenia's national football team.

The majority of the Blazing Dragon's roster are former members of the military, due to old laws regarding military conscription, and those that have competed in martial arts competitions, the dominant sport in the country - as they are seen as one of the most physical and skilled people in Yangchenia at the sport. However, as of modern times, people who have been playing the sport since childhood are often rising stars within the Blazing Dragons.

Hu Winwei
(b. 29 November 1972)
Shandu (Xanadu), Xanadu Autonomous Sheshanate, Yangchenia

Hu Winwei is a former Yangini football player for the Blazing Dragons, joining the team in 1988 at the age of 16. Born in Xanadu as Huq Kugshan to a devout Kungarian family, Hu Winwei was born to the "Tyorghazy" caste of Kungarian society - slightly above the peasantry class but still below the middle caste. Kungarian society was extremely hierarchal. Kungars traditionally build their settlements on tall peaks at high elevation, as they believe that by living at higher elevation, they live closer to God. As a result, their cities are built vertically on high plateaus, with varying elevation. As a result, Kungarian society developed a unique hierarchical system, in which wealthy and noble families lived at higher elevation than poorer peasant people.

Born to the Tyorghazy, Hu Winwei lived in the lower levels of the city of Xanadu, living slightly below the great plateau that was the foundation of the city, however not deep underground where the peasants and prisoners live. Still, being from a lower caste Hu struggled to find opportunities to better his family condition, and at the age of 12 he left home for Raijugang in search of a better life - working as a doorman in Raijugang's many lavish casinos operated by the Radarsavov Clique - descending from the Ya Dynasty that ruled the island as a slave colony.

There, he started playing football as a hobby after tireless work, playing with other children in the streets of Raijugang's outskirt city, Jugangwei. There he slowly honed his skills in the sport, until one day he decided to participate in the tryouts of the Blazing Dragons - Yangchenia's national team, in which he passed, and entered the team with the jersey number 08 - a lucky number in Yangini tradition. For the next thirty years - he would be a player of the Blazing Dragons, representing the country in many sports tournaments in Lacia, until becoming the team's head coach in 2018 following the death of the previous coach, Dao Xuanjing.

ALL HOME MATCHES WILL BE PLAYED AT THE FOLLOWING STADIUMS:
Yurt of Ilanara, Yehenara Banner:
A relatively small sized stadium built to mimic the shape of traditional Yurchen Yurts, the Yurt of Ilanara is located near the city center of Yehenara, within the territory of the Yehenara Banner in Yangchenia. It was built in 2010 to commemorate the life of Princess Ilanara of Nara, the last tribal leader of the ancient Yehe-Nara, who fled Msalka from persecution after their resistance of Sanharci’s Kao Hala Banner’s attempts to subjugate all of the Yurchen Banners.

City: Yehenara (pop: 25,000)
Stadium Capacity: 28,890
Closest Airport: Xanadu-Yeduuryn Regional Airport (4.5 hour drive)

Kyarr-Hcwal Pagoda, Nyaungyi, Zayathla:
Situated in the heart of Nyaungyi, the bustling capital of the Union of Zayathla, the Kyarr-Hcwal Pagoda is a testament to traditional Zayat architecture, featuring several golden spires and a facade that mirrors that of religious Buddhist Pagodas that dot the city. Nyaungyi, home to 7 million people within its metropolitan area, is the largest city on the Msalkan continent, yet it is a city that has seen much turmoil in recent years. Ever since the Zayat Civil War broke out in 2021, the city experiences rolling blackouts, with the hums of diesel generators defining Nyaungyi city life in recent times.

City: Nyaungyi (pop: 7,203,000)
Stadium Capacity: 40,000
Closest Airport: Bogyoke Kaung Phyoe Intl’ Airport (inside the city)

FFSA PRESIDENT
Image Image
Pictured: Bates and Daviande

Rockwell Bates hails from Fizroe Island and brings a lengthy resume of organizational leadership, largely from the Royal Fizroe team, where he served as coach and later general manager. The FFSA board selected carefully after the tragic assassination of Gérard Duceppe, and opted for a proven stalwart of Sel Appan domestic football. Proud, quiet, and confident, Bates is ready to lead the team forward as they strike forward to qualify.

COACH
Walter Daviande was quickly hired as coach by Bates, coming immediately from Royal Fizroe, but having coached for Anila City FC and Les Serpents, where he had also been a player. Daviande is known for an aggressive attacking style and promises to bring that to the national team. A national hero coming out of the 25th Independents with an unexpected fourth place finish, "Wally" aims to replicate that success in the World Cup. The eyes of a nation are on him.

GOALKEEPERS
Bobby Boyd (1) – The goalkeeper from the Reddingham Raiders returns again, but has been moved to backup to allow Sabesić prime position.

Sam Sabesić (27) – Royal Fizroe managed to steal this legendary keeper from Anila City when the latter failed to sign him to a new contract on time. The plucky island team got a massive boost to the top levels of the Premier League thanks to his adeptness with the ball.

Kalmen Goldberg (28) – A new signing for the national team as a prospect and third string, the Fleuves FC player hopes to get a game in.

DEFENSE
Tobias Hart (7) – Returning again for the Turtles, Hart is known for his reliable defense skills, and occasional midfield play, but is a cautious player overall.

Alex Cécile (29) – A master at his craft from Fleuves FC, Cécile excels at locking out other players from any attacking play.

Winston George (30) – George defends for the Reddingham Rovers and will be continuing that for the national team.

François Jean (31) – Jean’s work for the Fleuves earned him a place here with the Turtles.

Karlo Metassis (32) – Metassis plays for Nemnen Turtles and has a fantastic defensive style that he hopes to showcase on the world stage.

Chris Nelson (33) – A Royal Fizroe pickup, Nelson plays defense evenly. In a jam, he can be found substituting for the midfield.

Raven Sampson (34) – The built defender dreamed of being a hockey player, but ended up in football. Crossing his path has been known to result in injuries, but he somehow has very few cards to his name.

MIDFIELD
Brian Roberts (24) – Roberts joins the carryovers from the old team, a trusted defender from the Nemnen Turtles, he has been switched up to midfield.

Armen Alan (35) – An Anvorbuod Rebel, Alan hopes to bring their underdog play to the internationals.

Arthur Cahse (36) – Cahse is the textbook midfielder, mixing attack and defense into his football play. Another Reddingham Rover to keep the team balanced.

Jae-Min James “Jimmy” Kim (37) – Hailing from Thingpao, Kim found a home at Anila City. Named Jae-Min, his English name is James, but friends call him Jimmy.

Vinny Perrault (38) – Perrault is Serpent to the core. Despite his midfield position, he is known to snipe a few goals domestically.

Ashin Pons (39) - No Sel Appan team is complete without a player from Natives Province, but its rare to see one from a team other than Natives FC. The persistently underrated team has a very loyal player stock and fanbase, but this midfielder opted for a contract with the Nemnen Turtles. Seen as a betrayal by his people, the domestic Turtles are very pleased with his decision.

Kazun Tayit (40) – The Natives FC star striker joins the team with his explosive play at the lead of the pitch.

STRIKERS
Johnny Dong (26) – The star forward from Anila City is back to help usher the team into a new era after three cups of failure. The new captain hopes to lead the team to some more consistent wins.

Adam Bittler (41) – The lightning fast striker from the Anvorbuod Rebels joins the team, a rare inclusion from the League One team.

Billy Orange (42) – A Royal Fizroe recruit steps up with a decisive play style, often making the difference in domestic matches.

Olivier Roche (43) – The Rock from Damacq is a Serpents striker, and an easy selection to take the national team to victory.

Antonio Rodriguez (44) – Nephew of former star player, Estevez, Rodriguez is expected to focus the attacking plays of the team. His uncle coached him for much of his youth play, bridging the gap of Sel Appan football eras like no one else. He followed in his footsteps with the Nemnen Turtles.

Joe Visser (45) – The gruff and tough forward for St Elmos Fire takes no nonsense and no prisoners.

Starting Lineup

VENUES
Turtle Stadium
Location: Nemnenait
Capacity: 12,8000
Opening the qualification series as is tradition, the National Stadium of Sel Appa and home to the domestic Nemnen Turtles is a massive, world-class, and modern venue. Rebuilt from the ground up in the 2000s, it remains fresh to fans from all over. Amenities are replete with numerous food, shopping, and other entertainment options for all budgets. Transit is a cinch with the metro directly underground, providing a seamless journey from any direction. Nemnenait itself is a massive capital city blending cultures from Sel Appa and abroad. Visitors will find endless diversions between matches.
Matchday 1 vs. Taeshan

NativeZone
Location: Natives Province
Capacity: 3,2000
Following up on the national stadium is a tall order, but the illustrious NativeZone is a unique experience of the football culture that calls here home. Natives FC, one of the fiercest teams in the nation, is hosted here, a facility designed in the natural earthly style of the region, the small stadium is a beauty. Tropical heat may scare off some, but will be a nice experience for others. Food in the stadium is on the healthier and interesting side, with fruits, local delicacies, and treats everywhere. Transit to the venue consists of a train followed by a connecting bus. There is no metro and infrastructure otherwise is less developed. Between matches, there are many food and music options, as well as markets selling local crafts, and numerous nature tours.
Matchday 3 vs. Kwrpania

Stade d'Or
Location: Les Fleuves
Capacity: 6,6000
Nestled between two rivers, the aptly named city of Les Fleuves hosts the top French team: Fleuves FC. While less populous, French cities in Sel Appa are no less than their counterparts. Known for fantastic architecture, culture, and of course, cuisine, visitors will get a classic French experience. While English is understood by pretty much everyone, French is predominant. Whereas other Francophones are said to be rude, Sel Appan francophones welcome any effort in their tongue. The stadium itself features French favorites from crêpes to poutine, and some of the more unique aspects of football culture in Sel Appa, namely the wildly designed hats. The city itself is a feast for the eyes as much as the stomach, and one will enjoy the many riverwalks.
Matchday 4 vs. Eastfield Lodge

Krisip Park
Location: Reddingham
Capacity: 8,9000
Named for the prominent dar Krisip family who served as earls of this province for generations, the Rovers and Raiders both play here. One of the few cities with two professional teams, their stadium obligatorily matches for their matches. A rivalry exists, but the Raiders generally are higher tiered. You will find a royal air here only outdone by Fizroe, but not always as ostentatious, and more tolerant of republicans as just plain silly at worst. The city itself is well developed thanks to the aforementioned family steering many a pound the right way and lively centuries-old trade networks. Reddingham is usually seen as the third city to Nemnenait and Anila, and has the infrastructure to show it. Unlike those however, it is less international and cosmopolitan, being a bit more conservative and traditional, and almost entirely English.
Matchday 6 vs. Wondering Refugees

Royal Field
Location: Fizroe
Capacity: 7,2000
The midpoint of qualifiers goes to the home stadium of Turtles management, both Bates and Daviande served many seasons here. Football doesnt get more serious than at Royal Field, home to Royal Fizroe, the beloved team of unrepentant monarchists. While Anila City got the name, Fizroe has the spirit of the late Grand Archduke. With a gorgeous view of Fizroe Bay, this is where the annual Turtle Classic between the top two Premier League teams is held. Despite their plucky nature, the home side rarely makes it, with a longtime rivalry between Nemnen Turtles and Anila City FC the most common matchup. To get to this stadium, visitors will have to hop on a plane or take a ferry, most likely from the two major cities. Transit on island is a bit more limited, with buses serving the bulk. Despite the forward-thinking efforts of Grand Archduke Kirby I, he focused development on the mainland. The stadium itself doesnt come up short, but is known for being a bit higher class. Be warned, republican sentiments are not taken kindly here.
Matchday 8 vs. Boring Paradise

Freedom Field
Location: Anvorbuod City
Capacity: 7,6000
The Rebels play here, a reflection of the provinces erstwhile politics that have tempered down over the years. Nonetheless, a fierce fanbase exists here in one of the most liberal and historically capitalist cities of Sel Appa. In some ways, Anvorbuod is more developed and modern then the rest of the country, but there is also a higher wealth gap. A different kind of nationalism is found here, but most Anvorbuodans have moved on from their past and are proud Sel Appans now. The stadium itself is quite modern and outfitted with all of the amenities one might expect. In the city at large, you will find no provincial sales tax and a business first attitude, almost alien in the rest of the country.
Matchday 11 vs. Bhumi Matawis Empire

Serpent-Stade
Location: Serpent-ville
Capacity: 6,6000
The home of "the Snakes" in the province of Snake Valley, as it were, ophidiophobes would do well to stay away. While the province name itself comes from geologic formations, it does host the feared reptile and embraces it as a sort-of mascot, leading us to a strong French side. The stadium itself has an astounding number of slithering decor. A series of paired bronze snakes adorns the way to the grand entrance, majestically guiding fans inward. From there, one will find almost every possible representation of the misunderstood creature, which has massive popularity here. Fans notoriously hiss at opponents and referees, inducing a level of fear that may be unparalleled in the nation, if not world. In the city itself, which is smaller than one might expect, it is distinctly French, but a bit fancier and traditional than Les Fleuves. While the great wyrms are celebrated here, it is rare to actually encounter a wild one, they fear you more than you them.
Matchday 14 vs. Reçuecn

Fellit Field
Location: Fellit

Most famous for the turbulent maelstrom offshore, Fellitshire also hosts a football team and stadium. The team shares a name with the rough waters and they are equally known for their rough play. However, the culture here is otherwise relaxed as a more southern and rural part of Sel Appa that begins to warm up as it approaches the more tropical south. A mid-tier city, Fellit is well appointed enough. A train will get you here and a bus will get you anywhere here. The area doesnt distinguish itself in many ways beyond its rocky beaches and limited sea access, but occasional begs a visit from Sel Appans.

Location: Anila City
Capacity: 8,0000
Finishing off the qualification run at home is the second city of Sel Appa: Anila. The namesake of Sel Appas beloved late monarch, who was mysteriously assassinated in 2005, Anila City FC plays here. Located in the second largest city, it certainly stacks up well to their rivals in the capital. One will find everything they need here and more. With a metro station across the street, and numerous other options, getting in and out is no problem. Anila is more distinctly Anglo than the multicultural capital, but still showcases a variety of cultures and diversions.

The Tristan de Cunha National Football Team

History: Football has been played informally on Tristan de Cunha since at least the 1870s. The first organized matches on the island were organized on economic lines as a contest between the boatsmen, fishermen, and whalers who worked offshore and the prominent townsfolk of Lambert's Town, being played each on or around Boxing Day each year. By the 1920s, an informal league had formed, with four amateur teams representing the four major industries: the Sailors, Lobstermen, Brewers, and Fielders. Matches were played in a single or double round-robin format over the summer period, and in 1927 the first championship match, played between the two most successful teams, occurred on the day before St. Patrick's Day. This established a traditional Tristanian Football season, running between mid-November and 16-March with the championship match scheduled for just before St. Patrick's Day. Full record-keeping, including individual player stats, began to be implemented in 1927, but only in 1928 did the Tristanian government agree to provide a small stipend to amateur players and thus raise the league to a semi-professional status. At the same time, state fund were set aside to support a publicly funded Tristan de Cunha Sporting Association, becoming the de-jure football authority within Tristan de Cunha. Between 1946-1957 two new teams, the Teamsters and the Guardians, were formed, establishing the Tristan de Cunha Football league in its modern 6-team form. Between 1961-63, volcanic eruption prompted an evacuation of the island, leading to many residents living for over two years in the UK. When these residents returned, they brought an invigorated passion for the sport with them, spurred on by access to live and televised matches and English football culture while abroad. In 1965, as part of the rebuilding and development of the island, a football pitch was cleared and leveled just south of the agricultural fields known as the Potato Patches. This "Potato Patch Field" would be used by Tristanian footballers until its expansion and revitalization in 1994-95.

The idea of fielding an international football team was first bandied about during this same period, but was deemed too expensive and difficult. It was not until the Tristan de Cunha Sporting Association met with representatives from the NSWC Coordinating Committee in 2019, that a decision was made to raise a team to represent Tristan de Cunha in NSWC Qualifications. However, the global pandemic and resultant economic downturn delayed these plans, and funding for the team was not secured until 2024 through donations from the NSWC Development Fund, the UK Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office, and Lambert International Banking. Ultimately, the 87th Baptism of Fire in Farfadillis would be Tristan de Cunha's first appearance in international football, with the nation also participating in 100th NS World Cup qualifications, and in the 92nd Cup of Harmony.

Due to financial and logistical constraints, it was decided that the Tristanian National Team would be limited to just 17 total players - 11 starting players and 6 substitutes. The team has been chosen from among the most skilled players of each of Tristan de Cunha's six semi-professional football clubs. It is headed by manager Adam Joseph Lambert-Grant, a government bureaucrat from the Ministry of Commerce and avid football enthusiast. Coaching is provided by Michael O'Toole, the coach/manager of the successful Fielders F.C., supplemented by his some-time rival Benjamin Bácaeir, coach of Teamsters F.C. On the field, the team is led by captain Oliver Michael Green, also of Fielders F.C. All players are Tristanian natives, and play for the domestic Tristanian semi-pro clubs.

In the previous World Cup cycle, Tristan de Cunha acquitted itself well for such a small nation, developing a bit of a reputation as a difficult team to face on their home turf - something no-doubt enhanced by the long and difficult travel times to and from their island home, which substantially limit opposing team's ability to train and practice prior to facing the Potato Fielders. The team lineup will remain the same for the 101st NSWC cycle as it was in the 100th NSWC cycle, although this decision has been controversial and led to accusations of favoritism by other members of Tristan de Cunha's semi-professional football clubs.

Nicknames: The Potato-Fielders - A humble name referring back to the pre-1995 Potato Patch Field, the first football pitch on the island and home of all domestic matches prior to the 1994-95 renovation.

stadiums
Amahne - Stade sur la Baie (70000) - home to Aminey CS (and the Aminey Caspians, Aminey Buffaloes, and Aminey Owls).
The flagship stadium, huge production values, the works. Azure-coloured seating under canvas roofing. A beautiful circular stadium built in foreign Classical traditions.

Shemurdar - Orange Bowl (54000) - home to Schemerdrecht SVV (and the Schemerdrecht Admirals).
More associated perhaps with the Admirals than the SVV, but it's nearly always sold out venue for great crowds in any sport. A robust, somewhat boring square monster with little attention paid to its external looks.

Maethoru - Rikalathen Arena (39000) - home to Maethoru SC (and Mayara Wanderers-Vulpecula).
Close to the KFA's training grounds, at least it has that going for it. Crowds are a little quieter here than elsewhere. A pristine pitch with seating in a few shades of green matching the field, all seating covered.

Ethuweri - Stade Amandine (30000) - home to Tanques AOE (and the Etouille Vultures).
Some amazing drone shots over a stadium, a city, and a crowd that knows what makes life fun. Extremely sponsor-friendly with its skybox layout, at the cost of the view of some nosebleeds.

Thelesra - Estádio Fortaleza (29000) - home to Miradela GD (and the Santa Teresa Sabres).
Made to be exactly 1000 seats larger than their rivals' stadium, the Fortaleza is the upper-class stadium. They tried to make it look old and well-used with a specific standing-only section, but even there the privilege is palpable.
OR
Thelesra - Estádio Marítimo (26000) - home to Branvon CD.
The working class stadium that is, in all facets, a bit inferior to the Fortaleza. Except the crowds. There's no better stadium for wild crowds. Plenty of standing-only areas, no cover, barely making it through inspections.

Monrama - Armskirk Municipal Ground (26000) - home to Maynard AFC.
The unlucky Maynard team have asked the KFA to have their stadium used by the national team - as the only southwestern stadium. The Armskirk isn't a bad stadium by all means, but some of the creative decisions in seating arrangements haven't paid off.

Katahshi - Suzumebachi Stadium (32700) - home to Katashi-Kanatsu.
The biggest stadium in the east, Katahshi deserves a game. The fans will mostly just cheer for eastern players, though. It's a wonderfully modern and digital stadium - the first with screens going all around the place.

Garihnkatar - Golhampton Grounds (31000) - home to Sydberg Olympia.
Garihnkatar never had a big football culture, but that's changed, and the local Olympia have kept pace with the hype. Biggest city in the country, too. It feels like a much bigger stadium than it is, with plenty of options for later enlargement.

Ehbanna - Northern Arena (32000) - home to university team 'Aevanna Ecologiske Universitet'.
The KFA wants some games geographically spread across the country, and so the cold, dark, and cold gridiron Northern Arena is on the list. The largely roofed stadium is partially dug in to prevent the Arena from dominating the skyline.

Alahrenna - Spider Stadium (27100) - home to Advance Alara.
Eastern but not on the island Katahshi's on. Fans are used to seeing a lot of goals - which the Dragonflies don't do. The stadium has a lot of staggered mini-sections, make of that what you will.

Seterdahn - Hazel Arena (25400) - home to Straudum VV.
Biggest stadium in the northeast, as far as the mainland goes. Straudum's style matches the NT's style perfectly. Propped up by the massive (rich) IT sector. It's still sold out more often than not as one of the better stadium experiences out there.

Gilibehri - Uriagali Field (19500) - home to WSR AFC and Pride of Eaglebury.
Biggest/only stadium on the west coast. Gilibehri has an amazing, flourishing sports culture and it's no longer completely ignored by the other 99% of the country. The stadium boasts an impressive view of the mountains.

Per position, we list the regular starter, one or two backups, and two or more 'bubble' players: sometimes they're on the squad, sometimes they're not, and rarely are they subbed in (against teams lower on the KPB+ rankings). Feel free to mix and match.

goalkeepers
GK Goswijn Naaldemaker (28, M) - Katashi-Kanatsu
GK Meldon Crewby (27, M) - Huthwich Et Iduloren FC
GK Néo Marois (27, M) - Cirelbourne United
GK Galorian Antair (24, M) - Maethoru SC
GK Hofojauka Milinjorithen (18, F) - Schemerdrecht SVV

Naaldemaker is the obvious starter of the bunch. He's got everything going for him: experience (with no veterans ahead of him in age), quality, a long established leadership role at Kanatsu, height (over 2 m). Crewby is as tall, but he's a little more prone to err in focus or position - though he's the designated penalty stopper. Marois is cool, Antair is active (and plays for Maethoru, which always seems to provide the edge in decisions), and Milinjorithen is the most likely to take over in a few years.

defenders
RB Folkert Nieuwboom (27, M) - New Volendam, KMJ
RB Germain Nweugun (24, M) - Nitoya Ninabasa
RB Tsazena Sitjaden (20, F) - Advance Alara

CB Lei yGorllaeneal (27, M) - Dí Maozöxê, FFD
CB Conrat Loper (26, M) - Serrapince, TMB
CB Charley Mellowby (28, M) - Maynard AFC
CB Joshio Sokeden (22, M) - Katashi-Kanatsu
CB Unotak Zhomodhen (24, M) - Miradela GD
CB Keiki Todaka (26, M) - Urrheddiao, CMT
CB Dornared Kambarudhen (21, M) - Limecroft Et Abyss FC
CB Carole Meudhen (19, F) - Tanques AOE

LB Theklen Senothonnau (25, F) - Straudum VV
LB Sujimbee Haggigana (30, M) - Maethoru SC
LB Foibel Thuidhuinun (19, M) - Sterrenwolde FC

We've been gifted countless amazing fullbacks, but this crop doesn't seem to be it - on the right side. Nieuwboom will be asked to play aggressively, close to the attackers, and launch down the wing as speed's kind of his thing. Nweugun is more a tactical, standard Ko-orenite defender. In the middle, it's the usual: yGorllaeneal, Loper, Mellowby starting, with Sokeden and Zhomodhen as very frequent starters/substitutes. Todaka might be on his way back in on the long term. Unlike the regular strategic commanders of the box, we seem to be on our Audioslavian arc: just hit them and they'll soon stop trying to score. On the left we've got our best player of the generation, Senothonnau, with Haggigana providing defensive support, and Thuidhuinun - we're going to need a pronunciation guide at some point - as a respectable up-and-comer.

midfielders
DM Hixinio Andrade (26, M) - Real Anasb, SAT
DM Olikek Azerhendhen (26, M) - Raynor City United, VAL
DM Ngjunei Meigun (23, M) - Chromatik, CMT

RM Bodim Sauzharegaunden (18, M) - Schemerdrecht SVV
RM Misako Yamakawa (24, F) - Maynard AFC

CM Annefleur Nakasarudhen (22, F) - Maethoru SC
CM Suevia Cuithokun (22, F) - Miradela GD
CM Tadanobu Tseshutein (22, M) - Granon Altair CF
CM Rosie Chelmandery (26, F) - Weatherspark Wyvern FC
CM Nehzau Ishuhmahgun (19, F) - Huthwich Et Iduloren FC

LM Amand Mathey (25, M) - Galaxy SC, XAN
LM Swini yLlwteis (25, M) - Straudum VV

AM Annemijn Urwegun (19, F) - Sterrenwolde FC
AM Micajah Felhuthen (22, M) - Maethoru SC

A trio of defensively minded midfielders, and they're all top 10 Ko-orenites on a good day. On a bad day, Andrade and Azerhendhen can still challenge for that status. Andrade is the cement of whatever team he's on, Azerhendhen is a bulldog who prevents a lot of work for the defence. On the right win, Sauzharegaunden is already looking the part at just 18 years old, creative, solistic, unburdened by previous failure. In the middle of the field, Nakasarudhen and Cuithokun are both good enough to play every single game, reminiscent of so many other central midfielder duos who've terrorised Anaian and other teams by frustrating the pace of the game and suddenly launching a pass when nobody's paying attention anymore. Nakasarudhen's the technical one, Cuithokun the captain-to-be, and Tseshutein and Chelmandery are the ambitious ones. Perhaps a bit less guided by ball security and possession, they do well with very attacking teammates. Ishuhmahgun is a box-to-box midfielder the likes of which don't often happen on Ko-orenite fields. On the left side there's Mathey, who's quietly grown into an annoying pest with all the tricks. For attacking options, there's two young-ish players at a position that was out of vogue for a while. We celebrate its comeback with extremely creative, if moody, fickle, sensitive, and selfish players.

attackers
ST Toshitsugu Hiraide (25, M) - Soldarian FC, VAL
ST Thomas Ugodhen (22, M) - Miradela GD
ST Aomoca Aenenolin (27, M) - Knetyohai City FC, CMT
ST Hngerei Taikun (24, M) - Miradela GD

Annoyingly, we've got options up front. No longer a single player - Aenenolin, usually - who's sent to slaughter near the other goal. No, we've got Hiraide, a clever bastard, Ugodhen, a tiny (at barely 160 cm) but tenacious and ruthlessly strong target man, and Aenenolin, who's made his career by being wherever the defence punted the ball to.

style
We play post-football, a term coined during World Cup 89 to put words to a horrible semifinal between Audioslavia and the Dragonflies, which ended 0-0 after 120 minutes, then all but one penalty was scored in the ensuing series. Post-football means no singing. No cheering. No scoring. Post-football is sideways passes, looking like the same, repetitive movements for minutes on end, but with tiny variations that at some point will get to you. It could be a counterattack, or a shot from distance, or a set piece. Post-football doesn't care if it takes 90 or 120 minutes, or more. Under Juliasterinthen and Davenport, the Ko-orenites earned a reputation as the perfectly positioned, tactical-yet-mean defensive team. Containing, capitalising, exploiting. Patience and countering.

formation
It's usually a 5-4-1. Depending on the opponent, the wingbacks can push up either to bolster the midfield or even overlap and supply crosses into a finisher - if we have one - but they should be fine to sit back and wreak havoc on whatever flighty winger the other team tries to sacrifice. The midfield is often a bit of a loose unit, almost always with a strong passer in the middle but it could be three DMs and a CM, or even a completely lopsided formation with all four players on one side. The lone striker is a reliable finisher. There have been 5-5-0 sightings, for if our strikers just aren't good enough to supply structure and strength to the rest of the side.
