Yeah of course. The fall of apartheid didn't just magically eradicate all inequalities and economic disparities, bulldoze townships, and create equality for all South Africans. But it gave everyone equal opportunities, that are now being erased for the white minority. Yet the way forward is through equality of opportunity for all races, and not just for one select race.
I mean, the ANC government in power now is in itself a little "reverse apartheid" you could say.

Ah yes because the ANC is totally sending white people into Boerstans to create a black ethnostate mm yes 100%

Caribbia wrote:Oh sorry I wasn't counting Khoisan populations as "black" there - I assume you're not all that familiar with South African history but to compare it to American terms, they Khoisan are kind of like Native Americans in a way. And now there's very little of them left. Now, just like in America, the country is predominantly white or black or colored (the correct term for mixed race, it's not derogatory like it is in the US).

Thank you for your answer
Yeah, so I see that the Khoisan were hunter gatherers in the eastern part.

But what about the bantu? Who mostly resides in the west?
Well, from what ive found, the short answee is that theyre not native to that area.
Okay, let me explain: from circa 2nd millennium BC, the first bantu people migrated from their Urheimat in perhaps around Nigeria-Cameroun (we re not sure exactly from where).
However, according to this they had reached SA by 300-500 AD. That is at least 1000 years before the DEIC and Cape Town.

Btw, could you please present your source for that 8/9 thing?

I’m saying economic disparity is still at a extreme I don’t know about the gov to much however I know that trying to help the country grow and help a vast majority of the populace actually be able to afford basic human things instead of helping the Elon musks and the wine sellers.

So you don't think white people should have to endure any sacrifice to offset the effects of apartheid, but you think minorities need to suffer through generational poverty.

You can't compare the modern-day socioeconomic situation in South Africa for whites to Bantustans for blacks years back. It's much easier to get involved in society if you have money, connections, and well.. don't live in a township.
So in that sense it's a lot more subtle than the outwardly discriminatory apartheid government of SA. Nevertheless, the legalized racism is there and it exists. It remains a fact that there were less racial laws in SA during apartheid's peak than there are now, and by a significant margin. Keeping in mind the vast majority of apartheid-era laws have long been repealed. So no, these are not things to be treated negligibly.

Three things.
1. 1994 was not a free and fair election, as about 70% of the country suddenly became legally permitted to vote, which completely 180ed the political landscape of the country and the blacks united - and now we have a government in South Africa that is simply anti-white. The ANC being elected in 1994 can be compared to the formative years of apartheid - one ethnic group uniting against the other.
2. Minneapolis is fine. I don't mind the racial mix, as long as everyone is legal, it's great to celebrate and share different cultures! Especially when there are no race laws that would restrict white Minnesotans from pretty much everything in one way or another :)
3. I am NOT okay with brutalizing people solely because of their race, accent, or both. Remember, people with foreign accents and/or of a foreign race CAN be legal!

There may have been bloc voting at play, but it still meets the definition of a "free and fair" election.

Well I don't see how it's fair to white South Africans, plain and simple. I was born and raised here in the US, so I can't attest to this personally, but had my parents not moved from South Africa before I was born, I would have been born after the end of apartheid. So why should I suffer if I never benefitted from it nor supported or contributed to it? This is the reality many white south africans face today :(

That is literally what they are doing. They are targeting anyone non white.

Given this, yes, that is literally what they are doing.

To hell with Mark Carney's neolib extravaganza. This is not what the Liberal party represents.

"We are all wrong about patriotism. Patriotism is not dying for one's country, it is living for one's country and for humanity. Perhaps that is not so romantic, but it is better."—Agnes Macphail, in a 1928 speech in Windsor (source)

But it gave everyone equal opportunities, that are now being erased for the white minority. Yet the way forward is through equality of opportunity for all races, and not just for one select race.
I mean, the ANC government in power now is in itself a little "reverse apartheid" you could say.

So you don't think white people should have to endure any sacrifice to offset the effects of apartheid, but you think minorities need to suffer through generational poverty.

What an absurd suggestion. Guilt does notpass through blood and race based forced charity is immoral.

You would’ve definitely benefited from it a chance to have a actual education not be raised in poverty.Had a better chance of a making a livable income own a business and live a life that has multiple benefits that a average South American would have a had a way less chance and opportunity to have.

Oh definitely! I mean, if you have money, SA is one of the best places in the world to live, and you achieve a standard of living arguably better than in the US. I've lived in Cape Town before, and SA is a fantastic place to live. IF you're not underprivileged. So yeah you're right.

Ah, yes, it's forced charity to, uhh, give Black people the land back that White people had stolen
Also, what a wonderful way to say "I don't think the government should help people"

Well you do benefit even if not directly, your family had the resources to move, access to good schools, good jobs, etc etc, stuff that were denied to minorities for generations. So why should minorities continue to reap all the negative material affects of apartheid/, while whites continue reap all the material benefits?
“Never believe that [fascists] are completely unaware of the absurdity of their replies. They know that their remarks are frivolous, open to challenge. But they are amusing themselves, for it is their adversary who is obliged to use words responsibly, since he believes in words. The [fascists] have the right to play. They even like to play with discourse for, by giving ridiculous reasons, they discredit the seriousness of their interlocutors. They delight in acting in bad faith, since they seek not to persuade by sound argument but to intimidate and disconcert. If you press them too closely, they will abruptly fall silent, loftily indicating by some phrase that the time for argument is past.”

Yeah it's a bit like a police state hey? Having to carry your passport around at all times if you're latino. That's how you filter the Americans from the illegals though!
