Optional RP Prompts
As a disclaimer, there is no rule that you must follow RP prompts. You can edit, diverge from, or completely ignore the prompt. There is no bonus for responding to the RP prompt, nor is there a penalty for ignoring the RP prompt.

Pre-MD1 Prompt: How did your nation - players, fans, pundits, etc... Feel about the World Cup Qualifying campaign? Was it a quality one that gave you hope for the future? Was it a failure that is causing panic and/or a complete reset in how your national team does things? Or was it somewhere in between? What does that mean for your nation's expectations in the Cup of Harmony?

Pre-MD2 Prompt: Talk about the unity in your squad for this tournament. Did you get here with recriminations after having failed to qualify for the World Cup? Is there discord in your locker room? Or is there harmony, as people have moved on and the focus is on earning the trophy on offer in Busoga & Zwangzug?

RP Permissions
Please post this either with your roster or your first RP with a yes or a no(with any qualifiers) for each question. These are all permissions to help facilitate an acceptable RP to you if somebody else RPs your match first, and vice versa.

#1 AI Generated images- AI generated images are fine as long as they are explicitly labeled as such.
#2 AI Generated text- AI generated text is explicitly prohibited, and any instance thereof allows the host to levy any punishment as I see fit, including but not limited to zeroing out both rank and any prior earned RP bonus.
#3 AI Translation- AI translation services into English are also fine. However, the original language text should be posted in a spoiler for transparency purposes. See a good sample RP from Huayramarca that is a perfect illustration of what I am talking about.

Welcome to Zwangzug! We look forward to welcoming your teams and fans. Click for giant map!

Please do not cause permanent harm to my characters or in my country without asking me first.

-Things to know: Zwangzug is a large and diverse nation with lots of silly chess allusions. (In more recent times we have branched out and now feature allusions to other board games.) Currently, our economy is under the control of well-intentioned but questionably-competent robots. Probably the easiest thing for foreigners is to get a temporary "ID card" and link that to a debit account; this will help you pay for groceries, restaurants, etc.

There are no automobiles allowed in the country, but a very extensive network of inter- and intra-city train transit will be able to get you to the stadium on time (hopefully). Many drugs popular in other countries are prohibited also, however, if you claim a religious exemption for their use, you can probably get away with a lot!

Group 1 (Namiri)

Guariday: this is located amid a sprawling temperate rainforest. Look for fans in treehouses being smug about the importance of environmentalism. They also love to cheer talented defenders and goalkeepers. The home stadium is Janaki Gardens. Their favorite board game is Sheriff of Nottingham. (First listed game)

Sharag: also located in the Namiri district. Fans tend to be similarly environmentalist-minded, but less judgmental about it and with a more techno-optimist bent. They're also less stifling about defense, but enjoy great individualistic play at any end of the field. The home stadium is Sector 32 Park. Their favorite board game is Tichu. (Second listed game)

Group 2 (FTC)

For silly musical-related reasons (don't ask), Zwangzug's two largest cities grew next to each other. The west side is traditionally known as "Merano"; fans are snooty and consider themselves cultured. The east side is traditionally known as "Bangkok"; fans are prone to rioting and making incomprehensible math puns. However, it's more common these days to just refer to the entire area as "the FTC" ("fraternal twin cities"). Their favorite board game is Mafia/Werewolf.

West stadium: Eglantine Park (First listed game)

East stadium: Palloci Pagoda Park (Second listed game)

Group 3 (Northeast)

Zwischen: The nation's capital. Visitor attractions include the "Ziggurat," the former government headquarters and occasional scene of inter-parliament strife. Fans love all-out attack but can get overly concerned about player injuries. Their favorite board game is The Resistance. The home stadium is ZS^3, short for "Zwischen Soccer-Specific Stadium." Most fans call it "football," they just liked the acronym. (First listed game)

Arlington: tends to be cold, there are lots of skyways to help pedestrians (and everyone is a pedestrian) stay warm. Their fans are said to be the most "averagely-Zwangzugian." They value preserving the past and archiving history, but not being unbearable old fogeys about it. Their favorite board game is Pandemic, unless that's a little "too soon," in which case they're mostly just into baseball. The home stadium is City Athletic Venue. (Second listed game)

Group 4 (Southeast)

Bassabook is more socially- and religiously-conservative area than the country as a whole. There's a famous fountain in a downtown plaza that's a fun tourist site. Fans tend to enjoy singing complicated chants along with the matches. Their favorite board game is Bananagrams. Their home stadium is Pacific Field. (First listed game)

Craton: the fans here tend to be pretty chill, and have some great barbecue cuisine, although they can take their yodeling a little far at times. The professional club, Excelsior Slogda, are named after the district rather than the city--the other major city in Slogda is Hapra, whose fans are much more high-strung. The home stadium is Doymals Stadium. Their favorite board game is Kingdom Builder. (Second listed game.)

Group 5 (Central)

Canbix: their skyline looks impressive, but it's mostly scenery, with polluting factories shut down under the government's strict environmentalist policies. The fans enjoy aggressive tackling but will boo time-wasters. Their favorite board game is Shadow Hunters. The home stadium is Groth Park.

Keppal City is not located in the nearby Keppal district, because our government is annoying like that. Fans like to grumble about how annoying like that the government is. Their favorite board game is 1313 Dead End Drive. The home stadium is Ayathen Arena, which is alleged to be "cursed," not that the team is really unlucky, but a lot of little things can go wrong during your visit there, so look out. (Second listed game.)

We have a lot more information in our factbook: see here for these and other cities, and feel free to poke around here or here if you're really bored. Otherwise, enjoy your stay!

Busoga Islands National Information

Image
Map of the Busoga Islands within the Shango-Fogoa Basin

The Islamic Republic of the Busoga Islands have firmly established themselves on the map in Arrosia - the country forming as an independent nation shortly after World Cup 80, as a result of what is commonly known internationally as the Banijan-Equestrian War, but within the country as the Busogan war for independence. They are located on the northwestern edge of the Shango-Fogoa Basin. It has a population of about 12 million people.

There are many options between getting the two islands. There is a tunnel that one can drive through, as well ferries every 15 minutes (the ride is about an hour), or by aeroplane.

The national animal of the country is a kangaroo- it has a large population of wild kangaroos in the country.

The islands have been inhabited for over 400 years, named after their founder, Ayatollah Kizil Busoga. These people have been one that have fiercely and jealously their independence. While, of course, being ruled by Quebec City, and then via Busukuma, for over two entire centuries, they have come out of the woodworks and staked a name for themselves. Politically, they historically closely ally with the Equestrian States and other nations within Canterlot's sphere of influence, and thanks to heavy foreign investment they have a rapidly growing economy. They also count Baker Park among their close allies. While they used to have an antagonistic relationship with Banija, the Belle Haven Agreement normalized relations between the two neighbors. They are economically very strong trading partners, and although there are sometimes cultural tensions, the two nations by and large get along.

After former NT goalkeeper Delbin Kasekende was President of this country for four full terms, and some change(25 years in total), the people replaced him with President Ulker Kavak. Kasekende, naturally, is still the head of BISA- which he has been for over a decade. The country, despite its status as an Islamic Republic, is largely secular in its outlook- although President Kavak is trying to increase the influence of the faith within the country. At this point, however, there is a near complete separation of church and state- no islamic laws regarding dress, food, beverages, or really anything that would separate from a standard, completely secular government.

In terms of domestic football, there are 14 professional clubs on the island that all remain part of the Banijan soccer pyramid- that is joined at the top with Farfadillis. Lakiska SC is the country’s only club at the top of the pyramid, in the Shango-Fogoa Premier League. Three teams are in the Banijan Soccer League(the second tier), and 10 teams are in the Busogan National League(the third tier). The country has its own domestic cup, called the Ebrahim Razav Cup- Busogan teams do not compete in the RBSA Cup, which is the Banijan domestic cup competition.

The sport competes for the status of 'most popular sport on the island', alongside cricket. Gridiron is known to be the 3rd most popular sport on the island, behind the two prior ones which are considered the most popular. Of course, popularity with the national team rises and falls with the good fortunes of how the national team plays- which means it is currently at an all-time high, as the nation just had an unbeaten run throughout World Cup Qualifying to qualify for World Cup 100.

Many across the country speak English, and it is a good language to use to get around.

Lakiska, South Island

Located on the South Coast of the South Island, Lakiska is the long-time Busoga Islander capitol. It has a population of 825,000, making it the second largest city in the country. This city has one of the country's two international airports, the other one being in Dukuma. This will be an important host city for the tournament- donating two stadiums to the cause.

Lakiska City Field

This stadium is known as a soccer-specific stadium. It has a capacity of 34,000, and is host to Lakiska Sporting Club, the only team from the Busoga Islands in the Shango-Fogoa Premier League. They are, by quite some margin, Busoga's biggest sporting club.

The Republican Gardens

With a seating capacity of 11,900, it is the home of the third tier Lakiska Kangaroos. Located in a capitol neighborhood that used to be called 'The King's Gardens' under Banijan rule, it has since been renamed the Republican Gardens ever since independence was achieved. The club itself is named after the national animal, the kangaroo.

Serizar, South Island

Busoga only really has two large cities- and this is well apparent in Serizar, which is a port city on the southern part of the south island. It has a population of 129,000.

Cemal F. Davala Stadium.

This is the home of Serizar FC, another club that is firmly in Busoga's third tier. Cemal F. Davala, the namesake, is a historic figure- the second ruler of the original(aka pre-Banijan) Busoga, succeeding Ayatollah Busoga himself.

Group 9, Matchday 2: First Match

Dukuma, North Island

This is the largest city in the Busoga Islands, with a population of 1,350,000. Located on the Eastern shores of the North Island, it is a major port city on the edge of the Shango-Fogoa Basin, and also has a major airport. This city also has two stadiums that it will provide for Busoga's group in Phase 2 of the AOCAFs.

New Orange Field. Seating capacity of 34,000. Home of Dukuma Sporting Club, who are firmly in the Banijan 2nd tier.

Matches Held Here:

The Busogan Beehive. Seating capacity of 14,382. Home of Castra Bostra FK, who are firmly in the third tier on the domestic football pyramid. It is named after the team's nicknames, which is the bees, because of the team's black & yellow striped jersey. This is located in the northern fringes of Busoga's largest city.

Matches Held Here:
Group 6, Matchday 1: Second Match
Group 7, Matchday 2: Second Match
Group 8, Matchday 3: Second Match
Group 9, Matchday 4: First Match
Group 8, Matchday 5: Second Match

Tezirbu, North Island

The northern most city in the country, it has a population of 215,000, located on the northern shores. It is another port city- ergo, fairly diverse. It is known as Busoga's best vacation spot- so it is built on tourism. Plenty of resorts, a big party culture, and tons of foreign tourists being relaxed.

The Foxes Den. Seating capacity of 16,700, home of the Tezirbu Foxes, who are firmly planted in the 2nd tier of the domestic football pyramid.

Matches Held Here:
Group 7, Matchday 1: Second Match
Group 8, Matchday 2: Second Match
Group 9, Matchday 3: Second Match
Group 6, Matchday 4: First Match
Group 9, Matchday 5: First Match

Tripoli, North Island

Tripoli is not on the coast, making this the only inland city to host matches here at the Cup of Harmony. It is also not known for being very large, with an entire population of 110,000. It is not really known for much of anything at all- but, they built a brand new stadium to be able to host matches here, so here they are.

New Forest Stadium. Brand new stadium, purpose-built to attract matches to Tripoli. Seating capacity of 19,000. Also the centerpiece of new investment into the Tripoli Foresters club, who just recently got promoted to the 2nd tier. A sign of ambition, to become just the third Busogan club to be promoted all the way to the S-FPL.

Matches Held Here:
Group 8, Matchday 1: Second Match
Group 9, Matchday 2: Second Match
Group 6, Matchday 3: Second Match
Group 7, Matchday 4: First Match
Group 7, Matchday 5: First Match
One Round of 24 Match
One Round of 16 Match
One Quarterfinal

Beirut, North Island

Beirut is on the western part of the north island, facing out into the basin and Busoga's general western neighbors. Despite it being there, it is not a major port- and therefore, has a smaller population- close to 75,000. Beirut is mostly known for its aggressiveness towards wind energy, due to its location- basically everything in and around this city is powered by wind, including the stadium.

Stade de Beirut. Seating capacity of 19,355. Home of Beirutspor, who are firmly planted in Busoga's 3rd tier.

Matches Held Here:
Group 9, Matchday 1: Second Match

RELATIVELY IMPORTANT NOTE: In a change of pace this World Cup, Mainline Hapilopper will be focused more on a matter related to the decreasing stability of the Hapiloppian government. Unless I get a dumb idea that makes me laugh, not many WC100 RPs for Mainline Hapilopper will focus on the matches. This roster here is to help you decide who will score, who will get their ass kicked, who gets thrown out, and who will commit some form of war crime.

(AI Disclosure: The pictures of people and of the stadium on this roster post were generated using ChatGPT, while the picture of Dom Probst was generated some time ago using Stable Diffusion. This is such because I can't draw worth shit. But I don't use AI in my writings and you shouldn't either.)
Image

ELLIS FOOTBALL: THE HAPILOPPIAN TEAM
Full Nation Name: The Dominion of Hapilopper
Trigramme: HAP
Nickname: The Haps, Mainline Hapilopper, the Mainline Haps
Team Colors: Blue, Green

Info:
It feels like Mainline Hapilopper is starting to get left behind in favor of the beer leaguers in HOT-DAMN. HOT-DAMN, the last two years, have qualified for the knockout rounds, they have gotten players to defect, and they have seemingly been going from strength to strength. The Mainline Haps, meanwhile, failed to qualify for the World Cup last year, and the Hapilopper Football Association has been questioning what they need to do to keep this team competitive. Dom Probst, head of the HFA, is considering redoing the Hapiloppian squad - again - in a different image, considering letting Thom Perkins go as acting head coach, and considering redoing what Hapilopper does with its football squad. World Cup 100 will be a pivotal tournament for the future of the team.

COACHING STAFF:
DIRECTOR: Dominic Probst
Image

Dominic Probst, more commonly known as "Dom", is the man in charge of the sport of football in Hapilopper. He'd like to be in charge of all football in Hapilopper. We probably wouldn't have had HOT-DAMN if he was. He's run the sport in Hapilopper since the early 2000s, and was directly responsible for Hapilopper fielding a national team 16 years ago. After a brief time away, he returned to the helm several years ago. He developed an uneasy truce with Nathan Ellis as Ellis built his own national team from the ground up. After Ellis died, the team retained the name "Ellis Football" as a memorial to him. But questions remain just how long that memorial will stand. Rumors stand that Probst will drop that name after World Cup 100. Watch this space.

PERMANENT HEAD COACH: Nathan Ellis
Image

The shadow of the late Nathan Ellis looms large over both the Hapiloppian and HOT-DAMN squads. For a refresher: Ellis was Hapilopper's ill-tempered and very violent starting defenseman dating back to the days of the Baptism of Fire. Ellis gained a reputation as a violent gentleman but the most important figure for Hapilopper's football program. He was the spiritual leader of Hapiloppian football, and after restarting the national team in his own image, he was the leader of Hapiloppian Football for sure. Ellis contracted double pneumonia and passed away several years ago from complications. Both Team Hapilopper and HOT-DAMN lay claim to being the side Ellis would have supported - HOT-DAMN especially so with Ernie Stevenson running it. The truth is probably somewhat more complicated than that.

ACTING HEAD COACH: Thomas Perkins
Image

Thom Perkins, Hapilopper's original head coach, took the job back after Ellis's death. His offense-heavy style of football - the so-called "Funball" style of football that was popularized by Ellis - will allow goals to be scored, but it will score plenty of goals against sides that are not ready for it. While Perkins' tenure at Team Hapilopper is secure due to his close allegiance with Dom Probst, it remains to be seen if the fans will continue to tolerate his presence. The rift between he and Ernie Stevenson was very public and Stevenson, beloved among Hapiloppians, made his feelings known about the whole situation. This has made Perkins incredibly unpopular among Hapiloppian sports fans. It's plenty possible he may have to lead this team all the way to the top for the fans to forgive him. Perkins relies on a 4-4-2 formation.

ASSISTANT MANAGER: Dennis Billett
GOALKEEPING COACH: Mark Tillett
TRAINER: Bill Rothstein
TECHNICAL DIRECTOR: Lyndon Auditor
PHYSIO: Tab Butler

My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:
Choose my goalscorers: Yes
Godmod scoring events: Yes
RP injuries to my players: Yes
Godmod injuries to my players: Yes
Hand out yellow cards to my players: Yes
Hand out red cards to my players: Yes
Godmod other events: Yes
RP Coronavirus-related events: No.

STADIUMS:
Nathan Ellis SuperStadium | Hapilopper City | Built: 2030
Capacity: 120,032 | Open-Air | Natural Grass
Image

The long-awaited new stadium for Team Hapilopper, Ellis SuperStadium sits on the grounds of the Hapilopper National Exhibition. The multi-purpose stadium can house multiple codes of football, including gridiron and association, and baseball. But the only permanent tenants in National Exhibition Stadium are the Hapilopper National teams of football and baseball, should that ever exist again. The club teams for both baseball and football remain in Capital Stadium across town. The point of the new stadium is simple: A large enough home for Hapilopper's national team, and a home for a Hapiloppian World Cup Final, should Hapilopper ever host a World Cup Proper. The stadium would become the centerpiece of a "Hapilopper World Cup Exhibition," where Hapilopper's biggest annual party of the summertime, the Hapilopper National Exhibition, would be retooled around the World Cup Proper, and the centerpiece of the national fair would be the World Cup Final.

PLAYERS:

HAPILOPPER PLAYER POOL - WORLD CUP 100 CYCLE

GOALKEEPERS
## Player Age Position Team Kicks Personality

1 Lou Hyde 28 Sweeper United Hampton Right Brooding
30 Manny Wakefield 26 Sweeper Highway Patrol Right Intense
60 Fox Humbert 23 Save/Pray Lake Sprague FC Left Clumsy

93 Randall Herta 29 Standard Surrey United Right Relaxed
94 Alex Hargrove 30 Sweeper FC Buckridge Right Professional
95 Adam Haverty 28 Standard W.H. Sports Club Right Stupid

PLAYERS TO WATCH:
Louis Hyde is retained as the starting keeper for Team Hapilopper. A quiet, dark-haired man that sits in his corner by himself, Hyde prefers the company of his cat, Smokey, slow mournful tunes on the radio and poetry. He doesn't drink. He doesn't party. He doesn't carouse. He's the anti-Hapiloppian athlete, if that makes sense. But yet, he has been a crucial piece of Hapilopper's national team, a major reason why the team has made it to the World Cup a lot lately. His immediate backups are Manny Wakefield, a nice guy off the pitch but a real demon behind the net. Number three on the depth chart is Adam Haverty, the insanely lucky keeper for West Hampton Sports Club.

Haverty is known for saving sure goals in the stupidest and most idiotic of ways, including, last year in a match against FC Surrey, a save where, not thinking about it, he performed a pelvic thrust at the ball, not thinking there was any other way to save a sure goal. The ball made direct contact with his nuts. He went down in a heap, but no goal was scored. It led to the Hapilopper Football Association considering a rule stating that a player must not intentionally contact the ball with his nuts, on top of his hands and arms. The so-called "Nutball" regulation was voted down by HFA head Dom Probst, because it was just plain stupid.

DEFENSEMEN
## Player Age Position Team Kicks Personality
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
2 Shan Bone 24 Def. Back K. Warriors Left Calm
3 Arnold March 27 D. Enforcer H.C. Soldiers Right Asshole
4 Scott Roundtree 24 Centerback Halsted Heat Right Intense
05 Daniel Bradford 24 Centerback FC Buckridge Ass (L) Redneck

22 Tim Stone 25 Def. Back United Hampton Right Calm
23 David Colt 26 Centerback W.H. Sports Club Left Antisocial
24 Peter Hardy 31 Def. Back H.C. Soldiers Right Goofball

26 Mack Beadle 30 Def. Back Halsted Heat Left Asshole
27 Darren Knowlton 29 Centerback H.C. Soldiers Right Creative
28 A.R. Prince 32 Centerback Surrey United Left Relaxed
29 Ted Shammes 19 Def. Back FC Buckridge Right Asshole

PLAYERS TO WATCH:
The first of the HOT-DAMN defects were seen in the defenseman's room. Huntley McCullough and Rod Cutt both left the HFA squad for HOT-DAMN and Ernie Stevenson. As a result, two players have been promoted to starter. Shan Bone, the calm, relaxed defensive back from Kingsland, has been criticized for not going hard enough after the ball and not trying hard enough to get into card trouble. He's a clean player, he doesn't get in trouble, and the skeptics say that's a problem for him. He's one of those lunch pail types that clocks in, does his work, clocks out, then goes home and does whatever he likes.

The second promotion is Daniel Bradford, who now wears the Number of Violence for the HFA. But unlike previous wearers of the Number of Violence, Daniel Bradford isn't the kind of person that would be named "Most Likely to Commit a War Crime on the Soccer Pitch." He's not going to separate a forward from his teeth, nor is he going to try to commit a Class-1 Felony on anyone carrying the ball. Daniel Bradford, for what it's worth, comes to the matches in a loud, obnoxious cowboy hat, the kind with feathers all over the front of it; snakeskin cowboy boots, and a very fat lip, fattened by some form of chewin' tobacco. He drives an old pickup truck and likes those country songs where you dance in a line and a square. There are some rumors that Bradford even chews tobacco while playing football. So watch this space if he spits some of that tobacky juice all over an opposing player. That might be the catalyst of a bench-clearing brawl.

They'll start most games along with Arn March and Scott Roundtree. March is the kind of guy that looks like your 45-year old uncle, but can - and will - beat the crap out of you if you look funny. As you were. Roundtree, meanwhile, is known for an incident two years ago where he ended up covered in blood after getting spiked in the face and laughed it off. Pictures of a smiling Roundtree, covered in blood, made newspapers all over Hapilopper.

MIDFIELDERS
## Player Age Position Team Kicks Personality
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
6 Stan Batson 20 Def. Midfield FC Buckridge Left Redneck
7 Jamie Hause 23 Def. Midfield Lake Sprague FC Right Calm
8 Trevor Jericho 24 Off. Midfield Highway Patrol Right Clumsy
9 David Chaney 22 Off. Midfield F.C. Hap City Right Calm

31 Lee Victor 24 Hybrid Midfld West River FC Left Patient
32 Pat Vernon 26 Def. Midfield Washington FC Right Relaxed
33 Tony Novella 25 Off. Midfield Halsted Heat Right Professional

34 Milo Joyce 18 Hybrid Midfld C. Harris' School Right Intense
35 Jay Viland 23 Def. Midfield H.C. Soldiers Right Professional
36 Ron Markway 24 Off. Midfield Highway Patrol Right Relaxed
37 Orson Meyer 27 Hybrid Midfld Minortown SC Right Professional
38 Tim Leslie 23 Hybrid Midfld Garvinson Trojans Right Brooding
39 Wyatt Spencer 27 Hybrid Midfld H.C. Generals Left Asshole

PLAYERS TO WATCH:
Tim Radomia is gone. So much for the smell of weed radiating through the HFA locker rooms. Noted redneck Stan Batson replaces him. Batson enjoys country music, cheap beer and bar fights. Last year, he gained a red card and a three-match suspension for pummeling an opposing goalkeeper early in the season after that goalkeeper called him an "inbred." Batson didn't take too well to that, and told the keeper he'd hogtie him if that happened again. He will be joined by Jamie Hause, Trevor Jericho and David Chaney, new additions to the team. All three of them are those you'd be fine letting your daughter date.

Hause is an avid reader. He enjoys reading newspapers every day and also enjoys the fishing at Lake Sprague. During the offseason, you can find him in the mornings on his little fishing boat, trying to catch something to enjoy on the day. He's said to be very wise beyond his years and likely has a bright future with Team Hapilopper. Jericho, on the other hand, would be considered a great player if he didn't have two left feet. He's right-footed, by the way. Some have accused him of diving - a very serious charge in the Hapiloppian game. Players found guilty of diving are given straight red cards and automatic 10-match suspensions. David Chaney, meanwhile, is a quiet - yet scary - midfielder that can be a deceptive goal threat on the field, and a deceptive threat to steal your girlfriend off the field.

Likely backups are Milo Joyce, Ron Markway and Wyatt Spencer. Joyce does not have a club team yet, and is instead a recent graduate of Cooter Harris's School of Fine Football Learnin'. Harris views Joyce as his star graduate for this year, and gave a strong recommendation to Team Hapilopper to invite him for the World Cup 99 cycle. He impressed in practices, and his age and inexperience is the only thing keeping him from starting. Markway, meanwhile, is best known for his gentle presence in the Highway Patrol locker room. He lounges in his chair, reading a newspaper and sipping on a cup of hot tea prior to taking the field. He doesn't get anxious nor does he get too keyed up. This is a good thing: It helps relax his teammates. Spencer could use that kind of energy. He's a dirty player, seeking any kind of advantage - whether that involve surreptitiously diving, or if it involves sneakily cheap-shotting an opponent or doing anything to draw the referee's attention. Among his teammates, his nickname is "Captain Dickhead." We'll let you draw your opinions from that nickname.

FORWARDS
## Player Age Position Team Kicks Personality
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
10 Frank C. Pinto 21 Striker FC Buckridge Left Very Clumsy
11 Zack Gardener 25 Striker Surrey United Right Drunk

12 Nick Lawrence 32 Striker U. Hampton Cities Right Relaxed
13 Frank Mintzer 26 Goalscorer North Hampton FC Right Professional

14 Spike Hewitt 19 Striker C. Harris' School Left Nervous
15 Aaron Edelin 19 Striker Pinkerton City SC Right Redneck
16 Greg Hefti 28 Goalscorer Peoria FC Right Calm
17 Jamie Rupert 23 Striker Surrey United Left Drunk
18 Sage Hewland 24 Goalscorer Halsted Heat Right Relaxed
19 Alvin Saldana 28 Goalscorer Halsted Heat Right Asshole

PLAYERS TO WATCH:
Right now, we're just going to go out and say it: We don't know what the hell Thom Perkins was thinking here. The two starting forwards are all new, Stan McLamb also defecting to HOT-DAMN, and the other, Dennis Waterloo, currently spending a few months in a North Hampton jail for attempting to steal a golf cart from a dealership. To replace them, Thom has promoted the clumsiest man in Hapiloppian sport and one of the Surrey Sloshed Scorers.

Frank Colin Pinto could still be Hapilopper's next goal scorer. He could, too, still be a megastar. Lord knows he's got the looks for it. Unfortunately, he's also one of the dumbest individuals on the planet and one of the clumsiest. Pinto has a tendency to get himself into trouble when nobody else is around or when no one could cause any sort of issue. Some joke he's accidentally tied his shoes together. Others compare him to a popular and fast, but wildly crashy, Hapiloppian ChampCar single-seater racer who broke the Hapiloppian record for most wrecks in a season last year. Last year, in a match against the Kytler Peninsulae, Pinto lost his footing, slipped, and collided with Kytlerian player Yvie Grant-Estill in such a manner that Thom almost apologized to the Kytlerian manager for it.

Zack Gardener is one of the Surrey Sloshed Scorers alongside Jamie Rupert. Rupert and Gardener ranked third and fourth in the league in goals scored last year, but led the league in blood alcohol content. They also led the league in bars thrown out of and embarrassing social media photos taken. Fans all across Hapilopper have stories about how Rupert and Gardener enjoyed a wild evening after a match with them, and then just about got them in trouble. They aren't violent drunks, and you won't hear about bar fights, they just go to a bar, have the proverbial one beer, and next thing you know, that "one beer" has become "one case of beer and two bottles of 100-proof liquor." And eventually a quiet discussion became a rip-roaring debate on the physics of golf carts.
-Hap.

a note to all those who play against me: i won't be RPing much about football this tournament, so I'll leave most things up to you.

After a very depressing run of qualifying, the Spiders are back, hoping for a result in a post-qualifying tournament that isn't three straight losses.

Information
Nickname: The Spiders
Formation: 3-5-2
Colors: Black and rust orange
Manager: Tanguy de Montfort (OAM)
Captain: Stanford Katzenburg
Style: +1.618 (+phi, to be exact)
Good? No, full stop.

Bolded players usually start. Feel free to make a couple changes.

GK - Henri Enwye - 33 - Sunrise Aeolis (MIR)
GK - Ambrose Pritchard - 23 - Combination Milankovic (MIR)
GK - Axel Zomorodi - 26 - Eridania Basin (MIR)

Enwye had an amazing run over the first half of qualifying, but he fell apart near the end, and couldn't handle the heat in crucial moments. Despite that, he's kept his job. He's certainly the Spiders' best option at goalkeeper, as he led Sunrise to the second-best defense in the SuperLeague, and Pritchard hasn't quite gotten to where he needs to be. Zomorodi will only be there in case things go terribly wrong.

DF - Christopher Howell - 31 - Aeolis United (MIR)
DF - Scarlett Fenton - 22 - Australis Eagles (MIR)
DF - Li Cheng - 24 - Combination Milankovic (MIR)

DF - Abir Mohammed - 19 - Sunrise Aeolis (MIR)
DF - Kendra Vesperi - 28 - Aeolis United (MIR)
DF - Grace Hall - 29 - AFC Mangala (MIR)

Pretty much what you'd expect - Li Cheng was the driving force behind Milankovic's defense last season, Fenton has performed well enough to keep her starting spot, you can never go wrong with Christopher Howell, and young phenom Abir Mohammed surprised everyone by excelling on a Sunrise team that ended on a +24 goal difference. After Qualifying, they were the only part of the team that didn't get chewed out. This could actually be the future, considering that when Howell retires, Mohammed could be a replacement.

MF - Stanford Katzenburg (c) - 34 - Huygens FC (MIR)
MF - Giovanni Caballi - 24 - Sunrise Aeolis (MIR)
MF - Albert Carver - 30 - Sunrise Aeolis (MIR)
MF - Ursula Barre - 28 - Aeolis United (MIR)
MF - Harvey Astor - 26 - Confederation Isidis (MIR)

MF - Adam Panchek - 24 - Tyrrhena Athletic (MIR)
MF - Andrey Ivanov - 22 - Aeolis United (MIR)
MF - Zenobia Miquan - 32 - Schiaparelli Rovers (MIR)
MF - Gordon Gordon - 28 - Huygens FC (MIR)
MF - Kristyn Zardano - 19 - Aeolis United (MIR)

This is one of Katzenburg's last cycles helming the team, and he's certainly the one most disappointed from missing out on another World Cup qualification. Carver and Caballi usually play further up the pitch than the other three starters - Panchek will usually substitute in for one of those two, while Miquan's more defensive. Ivanov will probably see quite a bit of time off the bench in this tournament.

FW - Rohan Jowling - 32 - Aeolis United (MIR)
FW - Luke Garamond - 26 - Vennesberg United (SGD)

FW - Quinn Taupling - 22 - Confederation Isidis (MIR)
FW - Sam Doyle - 23 - Combination Milankovic (MIR)

Garamond couldn't do much on his own, and Jowling's age really showed. What used to be the Spiders' strongest sector might be collapsing. Goals usually come from breakaways, outpacing and outmaneuvering the opponent.

My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:
Choose my goalscorers: Yes - individual Martians are generally less likely to score multiple goals in a match, but this isn't a hard-and-fast rule.
Godmod scoring events: No
RP injuries to my players: Yes
Godmod injuries to my players: No
Hand out yellow cards to my players: Yes
Hand out red cards to my players: TG first beyond 1 red
Godmod other events: Ask first.

Notes

Republican National Soccer Team, LLC made its long-awaited return to the World Cup for the first time in 15 years with an all-star team comprised of students from the prestigious Barjavel Academy in Republica. Barjavel Academy is a boarding school whose mission is to educate the future elite of the Federation of Free Republics. These players and cheerleaders were hand-picked from around the Federation for their potential on the soccer field and for their leadership potential off of it. With Soccer General Rule Theriault now retired, the manager job now falls to longtime assistant Senator Koby Theodore who was a star player on the first generation Republican National Team and a critical contributor to their teams that finished 2nd at World Cup 68 and 3rd at World Cup 71. His assistant managers Love Holm and Archie White were star players from the second generation Republican National Team that won World Cup 85. The cheerleading squad, a long time Republican soccer tradition dating to World Cup 68, is coached by Summer White and Chloe Holm, both former Republican cheerleaders and wives of the assistant managers.

The Republicans will once again play their classic 3-1-2-1-3 diamond formation and their traditional tactics. This includes a commitment to winning by any means necessary, clean or dirty. If they think it will give them a competitive advantage, Republican players will do absolutely anything. Up to and including scoring an intentional own goal to get their preferred opponent in a knockout round. To assist in this, the use of VAR or any other form of instant replay by match officials is a criminal offense within the Free Republics. Any official who uses such technology to the detriment of the Free Republics will be arrested on the spot after the match. If they violate this law to the advantage of the Free Republics, it will be ignored by the authorities. The cheerleaders are also willing to do anything they can to assist their team such as distracting opposing players. But they will only fraternize with/date Republican players unless specifically approved by me. Assume that it will be very difficult for visiting team fans to get tickets in the Free Republics, especially so if the match is a Black Out at Ren Rep.

Both previous generations of the Republican National Soccer Team also started as youth teams but gradually developed into world-class teams as their young players hit their respective primes. The starting lineup listed above is the "best" starting lineup but the actual starting lineup will be rotated from match to match as Theodore wishes to keep his young team fresh and get everybody some match experience at the international level.

The new Republican National Soccer Team showed promise in World Cup qualifying, winning their first 3 matches and then drawing Juvencus on the 4th matchday. Following a loss to Sernet, they struggled in the middle of qualifying before finding renewed momentum down the stretch culminating in a 2 goals to nil victory over Yuezhou to end the 35th ranked nation's qualification hopes and secure a playoff spot for Sernet. They come into the Cup of Harmony hoping to build on this momentum and find more consistency.

The Free Republics has changed significantly in the past 15 years following their World Cup victory. Following the assassination of Samuel Izmailov and the collapse of the power grid, the nation fell into chaos with local warlords ruling various regions until the Grand Immortal Imperator restored both electricity and the Federation Constitution. In his role as First Citizen, he has stabilized the political system of the Free Republics by outlawing political parties and packing both the Senate and the courts with his allies. Flanked by Lady Nova and Lady Scarlett, he is the mysterious and extraordinarily wealthy power behind the throne. Under his influence, the Free Republics has adopted a new national anthem and altered its national colors from blue and white to black and white. Barjavel Academy and the new generation of the Republican National Soccer Team are personal projects of the Grand Immortal Imperator who is attempting to mold students at the prep school into a generation of Republican leaders in his image.

National Anthem of the Free Republics: Rise from the Ruins

OOC Inspiration and Tune

Rise from the Ruins
To the future, we turn
Let us restore your former glory truly,
Republica, our homeland.
Triumph over bygone horrors,
Can in unity be won.
Oh what we can obtain tomorrow,
When over our Federation,
The sun shines again!

May both peace and joy inspire,
Republica, our homeland.
Peace is all the Federation's desire,
To our Imperator lend your hand.
In brotherhood united,
We shall crush the Imperator's foes.
Let all paths to peace be lighted,
That no mother shall again
Mourn her son in woe!

Let us grow and build our nation,
Learn and work as never before,
For a free new generation,
With faith in its own strength again!
Republican youth, for whom the striving
Of our people is at one,
You are Republica's revival,
And over our Federation,
The sun shines again!

Yeah the newspapers are boycotting this one

Manager: Itay Makamura - The only domestic manager who was willing to take on the roll. Makamura is fine and nothing special as a manager, he's bounced around various leagues and has not done anything in particular to distinguish himself. He exists and that's good enough for now.

Formation:
The usual 3-3-4

GK: Ellie Hammond - A great shot stopper who has a reputation for being a little shaky on crosses. One thing she won't have to deal with are nerves as she has been in many a big game.
D: Sirus McMillan - One of the best outside backs in the Alexandria and New Spartan league, McMillan has been waiting to get a real run with the national team and now gets it.
D: Reuven Bar Simcha - The son of happiness is a real grump for a central defender. Bar Simcha has a no nonsense reputation and is the captain of this particular outfit.
D: Hershel Heschel - The son of a rabbi, Heschel is known for his communication skills on the pitch, this mostly means he has an excessively loud voice. He's also big on the curling circuit as a skip of his own rink. They won 2 events last year!
M: Yael Tanner - Has played a lot of forward as well as midfield. Works much more forward than a traditional Milchamian mid but her speed makes up for some plays out of position.
M: Claudia Baum - A proven ball distributor. Her play in the middle has gotten her the nickname of the Quarterback for her ability to a. make the right pass and b. create enough time and space to become the center of play constantly. Has led multiple leagues in assists for the last 4 years.
M: Moriah Congrek - Once a striker but moved into midfield once it became clear she did more with her defensive responsibilities than her attacking responsibilities. Is the steel of the midfield.
F: Steven Point - Not from Wisconsin but nevertheless a skilled crosser of the ball. Point sometimes moves back to cover Tanner's runs from midfield. Their friendship is a key mark to success for this team.
F: Haim Taim - A sweet life helps this delicious forward score many life affirming goals.
F: Tamar Sessell - Sessell has had their ups and downs but has settled down into one of the best strikers for the multiple sides. Expect a good run from Sessell and some real questions about whether the step up in class to international competition is a good one.
F: Simeon Ben Yonatan - A classic Milchamian wide forward, Ben Yonatan has all the skills necessary to do what's expected of him in this formation.

Subs:
GK: Fletcher Jones - The newest Fletcher!
D: Quentin Phillips - Speedster, will do better.
D: Stephanie Sasson - The French pronunciation please.
D: Shir Mendelbaum - She sings of you!
M: Jacob Andsons - He has kids!
M: Elior Sheinbaum - First sub off the bench for the midfield.
M: Hibtip - The rare mononym.
F: Uri Daberi - He speaks!
F: Jonathan Filmanetzki - He shoots! He scores!
F: Avion Thomas - Classic center forward.
M/F: Ricky Brenner - Can play anywhere.
M/D: Wolf Zeev - Will hurt you, possibly.

Our traditional +3 and do whatever with the RP permissions, yes, seriously, don't worry about it. I'm fine, if I dislike a thing I'll probably ignore it but I'll probably think it's funny and just run with it.
Milchama Sports achievements:
World Baseball Classic 23 Champion! Arrosia Regional Championship 2 Champion!
Note: The demonym is Milchamian. There are two of the letter "I(i)" and not one.

3x CoH winner (29, 46, 50) 3x WBC winner (4,5,23), 1x World Cup host (32), 1x ARC Champion, Various other minor trophies there's a football club trophy, a kleptochase trophy, Other minor international football trophies.

Grand Immortal Imperator's Palace
Republica

The Grand Immortal Imperator was sitting in his office when Lady Nova walked in to inform him that his latest invited guests had arrived. The First Citizen of the Federation of Free Republics had called 2 men into his office: the coach of the Republican National Soccer Team Senator Koby Theodore and the headmaster of Barjavel Academy Doctor Kyle Kennedy. He had been insistent that he needed to speak to both of them together.

Lady Nova - Senator Theodore and Doctor Kennedy have arrived!

Grand Immortal Imperator - Send them in.

As they walked in, one of the Grand Immotal Imperator's cats insisted on cutting in line.

Grand Immortal Imperator - Come here, Senator Shadow.

The large black cat sat himself on the Grand Immortal Imperator's lap, diverting his attention away from his guests.

Grand immortal Imperator - Good boy. That's my favorite Senator.

The Grand Immortal Imperator was deadly serious. 5 years prior, he had actually appointed his cats Shadow and Princess to the Senate to send a clear message to the Senate that he held the real power over the Federation now. (OOC: This was supposed to have been revealed during qualifying but I somehow never got around to RPing it.)

Koby Theodore and Kyle Kennedy both knew better than to bother the Imperator while he was playing with his cat. Doing so was just asking for the only Senators in the history of the Senate with a perfect record of proposing bills that eventually became laws to propose legislation antithetical to your own interests. Finally, after about 15 minutes or so, Senator Shadow decided he needed a visit to the litter box and the meeting could commence.

Grand Immortal Imperator - My apologies, gentlemen. I guess I was a little preoccupied playing with Senator Shadow and forgot that I'd invited the two of you here. Please come in and take your seats.

They did as he asked.

Grand Immortal Imperator - As you know, we have received an invitation to the 92nd Cup of Harmony and I wish to discuss our plans for this tournament.

Koby Theodore - We are going to accept the invitation, aren't we?

Grand Immortal Imperator - Of course. Our boys need the experience and it'll be good for them to play abroad at a neutral site. I was very pleased with their performance in World Cup Qualifying. I believe they would have likely made the playoffs in around 25 of the 30 qualifying groups. The draw against Juvencus and the victory over Yuezhou show promise for the future.

Kyle Kennedy - Sir, I assume you didn't invite me here to discuss soccer.

Grand Immortal Imperator - Of course not. I invited you here to discuss the matter of our fan contingent at the Cup of Harmony. I have decided that I will permit Republican fans to attend matches at the Cup of Harmony on one condition. They must be affiliated with Barjavel Academy.

Kyle Kennedy - Are you sure? We might not have many fans.

Grand Immortal Imperator - I'm certain, actually, I have decided that Barjavel Academy will be going on a field trip to the Cup of Harmony. With my resources, I am attempting to rent out an entire hotel or academic campus wherever the team will be playing and secure as many match tickets as possible. Including buying out the goal that is designated for Republican supporters.

Kyle Kennedy - So we'll be temporarily relocating the entire school to Zwangzug or Busoga Islands? Do we even know which country we'll be playing in?

Grand Immortal Imperator - As of now, no. But I have been talking to the host committee for the Cup of Harmony and am confident that I can secure the necessary accommodations.

Koby Theodore - Is there any specific reason for this decision?

Grand Immortal Imperator - I don't want our young student-athletes to be distracted with their student responsibilities while they're at the Cup of Harmony. Now you can obviously hold classes in the facility we rent out but I would suggest, from personal experience, that the students could learn more from visiting the foreign country.

Kyle Kennedy - Understood.

Grand Immortal Imperator - Also, we need to make sure that our boys are in the best possible condition for their matches. I don't want any exam fatigue impacting their performances.

Koby Theodore - I do believe that the civics exam wasn't good for their performance during qualifying.

Kyle Kennedy - But it is important for our students to be able to explain the meaning of passages from The Philosopher and other great ancients.

Grand Immortal Imperator - Indeed, it is. Civics is the single most important subject that is taught at Barjavel because your students are going to run our Federation someday. They need to learn the best of political philosophy not nonsense on stilts about "rights" and "equality". All those sick obsessions do is cause decay, decline and ruin because everybody's "rights" prevent problems from being fixed and "equality" means we have to listen to people who have nothing intelligent or worthwhile to say.

Kyle Kennedy - That's why we teach our students about the dangers of all forms of liberalism and modernism. And the abject stupidity of democracy.

Grand Immortal Imperator - Indeed but democracy does have its uses. Allowing a crowd to vote on whether or not we should kill a miscreant who did something that may or may not be a death penalty offense is very useful for determining what the criminal law should be.

Koby Theodore - It's certainly one of the more effective approaches I've seen but all of this political talk is way over my head. Politics was always Coach Theriault's thing. And Lady Nova's.

Grand Immortal Imperator - Indeed. I still can't believe Kyle got elected consul at one point.

Koby Theodore - Nor can I but I guess that proves how stupid a system of government democracy is.

Grand Immortal Imperator - I still remember the day when he got in a brawl with Lady Scarlett. It's for the best that he never performs his Senator Emeritus duties.

Koby Theodore - He's always happier when he's drinking beer. I hope he's treating Lucia right. That woman has always loved him with a passion.

Grand Immortal Imperator - He's certainly a handful but at least he's not a doormat like Lady Nova's husband!

They all laughed.

Grand Immortal Imperator - But back to the point of this meeting. We need the entire student body of Barjavel to go to the Cup of Harmony. Imperator Airlines will be providing private flights. You have my word that everything will be handled.

Kyle Kennedy - Good to know. I will call an assembly tomorrow and inform the entire student body.

Grand Immortal Imperator - That's what I wanted to hear.

Kyle Kennedy - But there is one matter that concerns me. We've entered our chess club in the Elephant Chess tournament. What are we supposed to do if that runs during the Cup of Harmony.

Grand Immortal Imperator - In that case, Imperator Airlines will transport the chess team to their tournament. I doubt anybody would want to watch a chess match anyway so we're not going to bother sending anybody with them to spectate.

Koby Theodore - There's international chess now?

Kyle Kennedy - Yes, it is somehow in its 12th edition.

Koby Theodore - Isn't that the board game where you take pieces across diagonals by jumping over them?

Kyle Kennedy - No, that's checkers. Chess is the one with the pawns, castles, bishops, knights, king and queen. And the king is basically useless so of course the object of the game is to capture him.

Koby Theodore - I never understood that game at all. Way too complicated for me.

Kyle Kennedy - I never took you for a nerdy type so that doesn't surprise me.

Koby Theodore - I bet those chess nerds don't care about soccer anyway.

Kyle Kennedy - You'd be surprised. This generation of kids doesn't really have a jock-nerd split anymore. At least not at Barjavel. We don't tolerate antisocial cliques of any kind and go out of our way to split them up.

Grand Immortal Imperator - That's especially important because we don't want our best and brightest kids to think that being smart is uncool. Or that being a delinquent is cool. And we definitely don't want any girl cliques out of those old movies.

Kyle Kennedy - Absolutely not. Those things are absolutely nasty. We don't tolerate toxic femininity in any form.

Grand Immortal Imperator - Good. An overly feminized society is overly obsessed with consensus which prevents them from speaking directly or trying novel things. This means they struggle to solve problems. That's why I've sought to de-feminize our institutions even though it is obvious that women can be just as capable as men.

Kyle Kennedy - Is my assumption correct that you plan to relax this once you've restored masculine norms across our society?

Grand Immortal Imperator - Of course. At some point, we will begin opening up predominantly male institutions to women who are good fits for them. And predominantly female institutions to men who are good fits for them. But we have to establish sane norms first even if this is unfair to many talented and deserving individuals. And we have to get our birth rates back to healthy levels if we're going to have a future as a nation.

Koby Theodore - I do think we'd have a stronger national team if we could include some girls. Connie Chase was incredible back in the day. And we wouldn't have won World Cup 85 without Faith Marshall and Amy Ashbolt who were starting for us at striker as teenagers by the knockout rounds.

Kyle Kennedy - Whatever happened to them?

Koby Theodore - Both of them got married and they each are mothers of 3 kids.

Grand Immortal Imperator - These kids need to be high priority for evaluation as potential Barjavel students given their bloodline.

Kyle Kennedy - I will see to it that they are.

Grand Immortal Imperator - Thank you for your attention to this matter!

Koby Theodore - Is there a reason why you say that?

Grand Immortal Imperator - I just like the phrase. Besides, it's the way leaders talk. Anyway, I think it's about time we wrapped this meeting up. It's getting late.

Kyle Kennedy - Koby, I want you at the assembly tomorrow.

Koby Theodore - I'll be there, Kyle.

Both of them thanked the Grand Immortal Imperator and saw themselves out of his palace.

Lighting the fire so you don’t have to!

Since time immemorial, Dēmos has served as the philosophical center of sporting and its various communities, emphasizing grit, determination and sportsmanship. This has delved since the inaugural start of the Olympic Games a long time ago, history unfound by those who have attempted to seek it.

The Team sees itself additionally as part of a longstanding tradition of proclaiming itself to host the birth of “footballing miracles” as may have been evident in the 87th Baptism of Fire which followed a string of impressive achievements by center-back Henrick Whyatou in the storied odyssey: The Black Ram of Greece.

Even though we lost the World Cup, the Dēmosians are prodigious, and humble yet are willing to make a shout for themselves to go deep into this year’s Cup of Harmony.

They expect silverware.

He never quite knew what was expected of him. In the middle of parental pressures that influenced his grades, Rafail Paleas found solace in the friends he made during his routine practices. He was excellent. He had a good eye for the ball and was always present. All the while he would keep mumbling:

How am I going to live to the mantle of my parents?

That was the reminiscence of what would be a son that no longer came back to his neighborhood.

Now he is a man.

Having played for the U19 Dēmosian Regional Football Team, he would later now be invited to his first international at 21 years of age. This was unprecedented at the time. World Cup silverware, however, was well-calculated by the reptillian as he slithers effortlessly through his opponents.

“The pitch is meant to be messy. Do you think Demos’ success is attributed to your “supposed” high level of tactics? No, not quite. We just know our roots better than yours.”

Don’t teach me football. Let me show you. These two words are statements of philosophy for a lion whose rusticity demands presence: his preference for complete domination sees himself at the other half of the pitch in minutes. Wearing the captain’s armband, he reminisces of a time where he would play “footy” (as he refers to it) with his friends:

Remember when our feet touched nothing but the grass? The ants delectably crawling around your puny-toes as the ball volleys—

He would play rudely in the dirt for what was a childhood brimmed with hardship, poverty and camaraderie. His father would beat him often while his mother loved him too much. He did not know how to repay the incurring debts.

A life of poverty is no more. I will give you everything and pay back my dues.

He would later be selected for the U21 Dēmosian Regional Football Team before being elevated to the senior team. He would attain the captaincy after an impressive string of performances in the Copa: a full, unbeaten season with a record-shattering 13 consecutive clean-sheet record in the Spartan Shield.

I am who I am because of the people before me.

Forthright and candid, Ghant takes an enormous bulk of leadership in the team. He coordinates the team in terms of tactics and wider buildup-and-recessions during matches. He struggles with positioning, therefore, but his vision is unmatched.

“If I took a dollar for all the things our Vice has done out of position I would be rich at this point.”

However, for all his accomplishments, shades of grey illuminate his career. Isolated with severe social anxiety and depression in his high school career, he was never the collaborative man you thought he ought to be.

I hate the hypocritical gesture. People I thought I could rely on but later turn their pockets out. Let me control you myself.

He since took the destinies of all with the majority knowing little than himself. Providing a twisted head on his shoulders, the captain, alongside Ghant, made a formidable duo.

You are the one I can rely on: Porcupine. Let’s lead Demos together.

Name: Ghant Fedoriyuvkos
Nickname: Porcupine
Region of Origin: Demos
League: Series Division I

“Why do you have so much energy?”

Work. That’s all it is really. People look at the best with no mindset of the best. How laughable wouldn’t you say?

Torso’s stretching, weights lifting and push-ups-a-straining is the “past-time” of what is otherwise the most athletic member of the team.

In the regional football trials he, notably, was the only one who would practice his techniques after-hours and his performance was a testament to his hard work: he achieved first in the rankings within the Yellow-Blue Lock. This was a trial of all U18s in the region for the regional first-team selections.

“The most talented of his generation.”

This statement by others who knew him is exactly representative of who he was. He wanted the gold to be drunk by his own mouth. He was asked what he does it all for to which he says:

I want the girls: their blood pressure must shoot through the roof.

Sernet - who are we?
Written by Jeremy Greenstall; Ultra-patriotic Sernetian author working for Sernefoot
the below is an expanded version of this post:
viewtopic.php?f=7&t=575263&p=43157985&hilit=sernet#p43157985

The Metrostocracy of Sernet is a sizeable, densely built, unapologetically industrial nation located in one of the busier corners of the NS multiverse. At Sernet's core stands its beating heart and namesake capital, Sernetesen, a colossal metropolis of skyscrapers, factories, roaring rail depots and constant movement. Although Sernet is a unified and deeply patriotic state, its culture is unmistakably metropolitan, and the entire country is shaped - architecturally, socially and economically - by the heavy-industry megacities that dominate its landscape.
Beyond the capital lie other major urban giants: Stensemertef with its sprawling freight yards, massive port and tower blocks as far as the eye can see; Nestomerisen, dubbed "the great Nest", city of 10,000 trades; Sporstrodisen, a titanic technological hub and another port city; Sermeslau, bastion of the north; and Sultriost, where industry runs 24 hours a day and the night sky glows from all the light beneath. Just to name a few. Sernet as a whole is an uninterrupted web of factories, foundries, transit lines and dense commercial districts. The skyline rarely dips below five storeys.
Internationally, Sernet is known for its skyscrapers, its relentlessly efficient industrial output, its labyrinth of a railway network, and its population of citizens who are proud, patriotic, loud and unashamedly propagandistic. Chants in support of the state and the Steamers echo across the land. But outside of the sprawling towns and cities is a harmonious countryside, beautiful scenic views stretching out into the horizon, straight out of a fairy tale. Sernet isn't all brick, glass concrete and steel. It's natural paradise too. Sernet also has a strong military and space force to protect national interests and project authority where required.
And of course, Sernet is known for football.

Football in Sernet
Football is not merely a sport here - it is a way of life. Nearly every Sernetian supports a local club, and the domestic rivalries are explosive, heated, and occasionally all-consuming. Matches between Stronghold Sernetesen FC, Setelendisen FC, Governorate Dameristol, Loblinisen Wanderers, Korona Stroławostok, Zwiazek Gdasenowo, Colliers' UFC, Legion SL, Union Slalosol and numerous others define the emotional rhythm of many sernetians.
The rivalries are deeply rooted: industrial pride, city-versus-city competition, and even politics and ideological jabs often play into them. Crowd atmospheres in Sernetian stadia are renowned across MU: loud, united and proud.
But when Sernet plays internationally, all rivalries immediately dissolve. The whole nation stands united behind the Steamers, named for the vast plumes of white steam which rose from Sernet's rail terminals and industrial stacks back in the day before electrification. Everyone in Sernet loves the steamers. Any view other than that is considered heresy (obviously it's not a life-or-death matter, but still... ...Sernet is him.)
Until very recently, however, the Steamers had rarely ventured beyond their regional football sphere. Their sudden competitive push in the World Cup qualifiers, and their subsequent invitation to the Cup of Harmony, has electrified the country's football culture even further, renewing pride in Sernet's legends.

How to Get to Sernet
Being a hyper-connected industrial power, Sernet is remarkably easy to reach. Direct flights arrive from across the multiverse, with the majority funnelled into Sernetesen Storimidros International Airport, the nation's primary gateway to distant countries.
Travellers from nearer neighbours (like Armatonisdaristan) may instead land at Sernetesen West, Stensemertef International, or other large regional hubs. The national flag carrier, Sernetian Airways, operates most long-distance flights; its fleet is functional, modern and famously punctual.
An alternative for those with access to flights to Outer Armatonisdaristan is to take advantage of the legendary GUSM (Great Undersea Maglev). Departing from Aberstorf, the GUSM speeds beneath the ocean and surfaces on Sernet's shores, connecting directly to major cities at stations such as Sernetesen Gateway, Hostrisen International, Sultriost City, Wosserom Obelisk, and more, as well as Stensemertef International and Nestomerisen International if taking GUSM Sleeper. Because the line is operated by Sernetrail, fares are astonishingly low. Sernet loves trains, and wants you to use them.
Cruise ships also arrive at several ports for those who dislike flying, though they take far longer than the sleek GUSM or the plane.

Getting Around Sernet
Upon arriving, travellers will quickly notice the defining characteristic of Sernet’s internal infrastructure: railways everywhere.
The rail network here is famously dense; an extensive web connecting every corner of the nation. Even the smallest settlement has at least one station; in urban centres, stations come every couple hundred metres. Trains are frequent, often punctual, cheap, clean, comfortable and used by virtually everyone.

Sernetesen, being the nation's vast capital, is a maze of transit systems: the SMR, SMR+, Metrogrid, Sernetesen Connect, Sernetesen Sprinter, Light Rail, Trams, Buses, Ferries and Sernetrail services too. Road travel is also popular, and Current Car Rentals operates across the country. However, traffic is moderately heavy in major cities, and while not an absolute nightmare, most visitors quickly realise the train is universally superior. Intercity coach lines such as Sernetbus exist but are generally slower and only marginally cheaper than rail.
Domestic flights do exist - but the train outperforms them so thoroughly that only the poshest of business travellers even bother.

Things to Know
Sernet is a deeply patriotic and highly disciplined country. Visitors should be aware that:
-Anti-state chants or provocations can quickly escalate into confrontations (often with football hooligans).
-Police forces are strict, heavily armed, and not shy about enforcing public order.
-The nation is socially conservative, and revealing clothing, especially for women, may attract unwanted attention in certain areas. Crime exists in some cities, particularly at night, and visitors are advised to stay on main streets and avoid wandering alone while intoxicated.

Sernet is also a Muslim-majority country, and while socially practical and modern, alcohol consumption is regulated. Drinking is allowed only in designated venues such as hotels and licensed bars. Supporters celebrating match results must remain civil and follow local etiquette.
Despite these warnings, Sernetians are proud hosts, and the country is extremely safe when common sense is applied. Visitors who respect local customs will find a dynamic, efficient, loud, proud and unforgettable nation, a land of trains, skyscrapers, and football.
Enjoy your stay. Sernet is him.

DISCLAIMER: We know that sometimes Sernet is painted as an industrial hellhole with pollution everywhere, but trust me, from a neutral, non-biased point of view it is actually a pleasant nation to be in (mostly) and you usually don't notice the cracks in the system.

Player Bios
For reasons of me not having enough time, I only made bios for the starting XI. More Bios will be coming soon. Also the images are work in progess. Thanks for understanding.

1) Tomasz Pasarowski - Goalkeeper (Sermeslau Giants), 24

Calm, precise, and fearless under pressure. Pasarowski has become the Steamers' safest pair of hands, known for lightning reactions and a commanding voice that can silence even the rowdiest back line. A natural-born organizer and an absolute legend.
Origins: Born in Suribań, moved to Blobnoslau in Sermeslau as a child.

3) Janusz Tworpowski - Defender (Governorate Dameristol), 22

A young defensive prodigy with ice-cold composure. Reads attacks like a book and loves stepping forward to cut passing lanes early. Already a fan favourite for his "no-nonsense, no-panic" style.
Origins: Stensemertef

4) Dominik Zoliba - Defender (Sermeslau Giants), 35

The veteran enforcer. Heavy, hard, and reliable as steel - exactly what Sernet's defence is built on. Zoliba brings decades of experience and can shut down even elite forwards with pure positioning and grit.
Origins: Palatisolt, moved to Sermeslau later on

22) Stirius Mantrostem - Defender / Emergency Goalkeeper (Union Slalosol), 32

A utility warrior. Mantrostem is tough, tall, and unmovable in duels, equally comfortable sliding into desperate blocks or pushing up on set pieces. His odd dual-role background as an emergency keeper has given him exceptional spatial awareness. He carries the number 22 on his shirt as he believes it is lucky.
Origins: Sernetesen

9) Stefan Jatrowski - Midfielder (Korona Stroławostok), 30

The engine. Jatrowski runs forever, presses endlessly, and stitches together Sernet's transitions with clean, vertical passing. A midfield bulldozer with intelligence to match his stamina.
Origins: Born in Sronisławów-nad-morzem

16) Korolianus Stork - Midfielder, 2nd Vice Captain (Governorate Dameristol), 34

Stork is the tactical brain of the midfield - composed, elegant, and brutally efficient. When the Steamers need control, he supplies it; when they need cool leadership, he embodies it. The team's on-pitch diplomat.
Origins: Lunstrisolt

8) Zbigniew Komstrowski - Midfielder, Vice Captain (Governorate Dameristol), 24

A versatile playmaker who drifts between lines and slices defences open. Komstrowski can operate as a traditional 8, a secondary 10, or even a hybrid winger. Creates sparks out of nothing.
Origins: Sosenystowos

15) Rami Alforez - Midfielder (Club Septingof), 19

Young, explosive, and fearless. Alforez brings raw pace and incisive dribbling to a midfield otherwise filled with veterans. A breakout star in the making with a knack for late runs into the box.
Origins: Septingof

18) Samir Dottman - Midfielder (Setelendisen FC), 26

A disciplined holding midfielder who gives Sernet its backbone. Dottman wins the ball, cycles possession quickly, and anchors the entire system. Not flashy - just essential.
Origins: Setelendisen

7) Wasori Oluwawa - Forward (Stronghold Sernetesen FC), 20

Fast, furious, hungry. Oluwawa is a counterattacking weapon who loves driving straight at defenders. Still very young, but already among the most exciting attacking talents in the entire Metrostocracy.
Origins: Born in Lofnolmesen, moved to Salifermis (Sernetesen)

10) Sporius Bolsting - Forward, Captain (Stronghold Sernetesen FC), 26

The heartbeat of the Steamers. Bolsting is a relentless goalscorer, creative link-man, inspirational leader and emotional compass rolled into one. When Sernet needs a spark, a shove, a rallying cry - it comes from him.
Origins: Sporislau, Sernetesen

I will try to put together more bios soon.

Sernet is a large nation famous for its extensive rail network and our skyscrapers and tower blocks. Capital city: Sernetesen. Sernet is a space-capable state and maintains a network of terriories, but we're not your traditional earth-based empire (we are very benevolent). The nation is rich in history and culture and is extremely patriotic.
Mostly modern tech, except in some fields where we'd be PMT

XANNERIAN MAROONS NATION FOOTBALL TEAM FOR WC 100 (Aka The Soft Reboot)

Italics= most likely to start

GOALKEEPRS

#0 Matt Cooper (M 6'1" - Age 31 - Austin City)
#1 Xavi Osuna (M 5'9" - Age 27 - Powell Rovers)
#2 Kelly Marcqwell (F 5'10" - Age 33 -Alexandria City)

QUICK NOTES: Matt Cooper is the clear starter here, the Austin City stopper is a pretty traditional keeper. Behind him though are two of the finest Grasshoppers (Xannerian slang for shorter GKs that rely on jumping ability) the nation has produced. Xavi Osuna of second tier Powell Rovers is largely seen as the slightly more talented goalkeeper, but many think his status on a second tier team left him as the secondary keeper.

LEFT BACK
#14 Kyle Effridge-Galles (M 6'2" Age 25 - Hawthorne Kickers)
#33 Rebecca Jackridge (F 5'11 Age 27 - Capital FC)
#45 Shawn Forester (M 6'2" Age 23 - Alexandria City)

QUICK NOTES: Right Back is powered by Kyle Effridge-Galles a monstrous thick man from the Hawthorne Kickers. Kyle is also what many in the Xannerian media are saying will be the most carded man in his qualifying group. The Xannerian refs are notorious for their lax philosophy when it comes to carding players thus creating a significantly more physical game where contact isn't encouraged but is not carded either. Behind Effridge-Galles is Rebecca Jackridge, the Capital FC veteran, a player who has been an elite DB but is on the smaller side for what the Maroons NT wants out of their defenders.

CENTER BACK
#4 Lora Bennington (F 5'7" - Age 23 - Hawthorne Kickers)
#7 Benson Brugges (M 5'9" - Age 34 - Capital FC)
#99 Jurickson Cincinatticus (M 5'10" - Age 20 - Capital University)

QUICK NOTES: The CB position isn't quite as brooding and violent as the Right back or left back spot. Lora Bennington's elite passing makes up for her lack of height and jump ball ability. One playe to look out for is Jurickson Cincinatticus. A college prospect (which is super common in Xanneria btw).

RIGHT BACK

#3 Kareem Slater (M 6'3" - Age 33 - Bearden)
#7 Aurora Reynolds (F 6'0" - Age 24 - Galaxy SC)
#25 Mark Thomas-Gibraltar (M 6'0" - Age 25 - Austin City)

QUICK NOTES: Tall, gothic right back Aurora Reynolds, looks to be the favorite to get most of the starts for the Maroons. The lanky curly-haired blonde even goes as far as wearing eyeliner on matchdays. Many have called the former Myrtle University star the most intimidating player to go up against in FLOX. Another intimidating player to go up against is Kareem Slater, the 6'3" star defender for Bearden is expected to see plenty of action on the NT as the plan has been called to have him be the primary substitute for Aurora. Also making the Squad is Mark Thomas-Gibralter, a doe eyed 25 year old who will likely see time as an alternate sub, and has flexibility to move between RB and RDM.

DEFENSIVE MIDFIELDERS

#6 Hailey King-Stouffer (F 5'10" Age 23 - Austin City)
#8 Marla Sanchez (F 5'8" - Age 30 - Galaxy SC)
#10 Wayne Brady (M 5'10" - Age 25 - Hawthorne Kickers)
#21 Harrison Felton (M 6'2" - Age 22 - Pearlham SC)
#24 Gene Baptiste Kwandahar (M 6'0" - Age 30 - York Metrostars)
#77 Dillon Daley (M 6'1" - Age 20 - University of Anclare)

QUICK NOTES: With Defensive midfielders largely based on their dribbling and passing ability, and there's none as good of a pure passer as Wayne Brady. There's also none as overtly fast an easily worn out as Wayne Brady. There's also not a Defensive midfielder as substituted as often as Wayne Brady. Expect to see him as the earliest substitution in your matches. Also the FLOX is hoping to see a bit out of prospect Dillon Daley, as he's expected to see plenty of time as a substitute as the FLOX teams are hoping to use this qualifier as a testbed of sorts to see how he can do in FLOX.

OFFENSIVE MIDFIELDERS

#11 Dennis Greene (M 6'0" Age 35 - Hawthorne Kickers)
#19 Roslyn Caldwell (F 5'8" Age 23 - Alexandria City)
#25 Kelvan Schroeder (M 6'4" Age 28 - Galaxy SC)
#29 Keelan Boyle (M - Age 23 - Alexandria City)
#37 Reed Todd-Grisham (M - Age 32 - Bearden)
#88 Braxler Hutton (M Age 19 - University of Leitner)

QUICK NOTES: Oh Boy Braxler Hutton, has their ever been a prospect from Xanneria like Braxler Hutton. Hutton is an elite passer and can score when needed. He's also a fratish 19 year old blonde kid who's a sophomore and captain of one of the best footy teams in the AICS (The governing body of Xannerian college athletics). So there is a reason he's being put on the same team as 34-year-old Dennis Greene. The vet is hoping to teach the kid and you know that's going to make some executives on the reams excited in the next couple years. The other name to look out for in the roster is Roslyn Caldwell. The blonde bomber as she is known is renowned for long passes that are accurate too. she's going to pair up with Hutton in the OM most matches.

RIGHT WINGER

#5 Hakeem Thurman (M 6'1" Age 24 - Austin City)
#23 Xanadu Rutherford (M 6'0" - Age 24 - Galaxy SC)
#34 Dallas Krmric (M 6'2" - Age 25 - Hawthorne Kickers)

QUICK NOTES: Look out guys, here comes Xanadu Rutherford. Xanadu has been tearing it up as of late and is the hottest scorer. His contemporary from the rival Austin City is Hakeem "the Dream" Thurman. The Right Winger out of Austin has one of the most beautiful touches in all of Xanerria.

LEFT WINGER

#16 Burleigh Longwood-Quinn (M 6'2" Age 27 - Alexandria City)
#30 Tracey Heron (F 5'6" Age 24 - Galaxy SC)
#90 Owen Kyffin (M 5'9" Age 23 - Hawthorne Kickers)

QUICK NOTES: I would expect this to be the position that gets the most balance of starts between the three players. I feel like long term this is Owen Kyffyn's spot to lose, but for now I think The Maroons are going to see a lot of rotation at this spot.

STRIKER

#9 Houston Rutherford (M 6'3" Age 24 - Austin City)
#91 Jason Rutherford (M 5'11" Age 30 - Hawthorne Kickers)
#93 Mylo Halfrey-Hawkins (M 6'0" Age 22 - Galaxy SC)

QUICK NOTES: Family ties run deep at the striker spot. Houston Rutherford should take the spot on the team as primary scoring threat, though you should watch out for older brother Jason. Also unsurprising is that new Galaxy SC signing Mylo Halfrey-Hawkins will also make it into the rotation for the Maroons. The Pearlham University product should figure into a few goals here and there int he qualifiers too.

The Federation of Super Earth

Super Earth is a galaxy-spanning polity comprising fifty-two sectors (though several have recently come under the occupation of external forces). It is bordered to the east by the Terminid Horde (a swarm of ravenous, genetically-enhanced oversized arthropoids who infest entire worlds), the west by the Automaton Legion (a collective of militaristic robots who mass-produce war machines possibly descended from the socialist transhumanists of Cyberstan) and the south by the Illuminate Cult (a vengeful remnant of a hierarchical alien civilisation that distorts the cosmos itself to crusade against Super Earth for its near-extinction at human hands). For the past year and then some, the Federation of Super Earth has been engaged in total war with these foreign powers, a war that has produced hundreds of billions of documented casualties. Though ostensibly united under "Managed Democracy", Super Earth is in actuality a jingoistic stratocracy in which terms such as Freedom, Liberty and Prosperity have become nothing more than buzzwords parroted by the nation's patriotically obedient citizens. The greatest heroes of them all are the Helldivers, elite and self-sacrificing soldiers who deploy from orbit like bullets into their targets and, occasionally, rapidly extract from the planet's surface victorious.

The Super Earth Senators - History Matters

Formed in response to the multiversal challenge of the 87th Baptism of Fire, the Super Earth Senators are an impromptu freedomball team consisting of former Helldivers. Their training mostly consists of dynamite-kicking exercises, minefield-dodging exercises, and defending-the-rest-of-the-team-from-incoming-bug-breaches exercises. Despite this unconventional regimen, they proved a highly aggressive and adaptable team, with each member at peak human physical condition. Their streak of success ended in a devastatingly close match against Choppyhausen in the semifinals, which came down to the penalty shootouts. Ultimately, the Super Earth Senators would secure a third-place finish in the Baptism of Fire. In the World Cup 100 itself, the team started strong but was dragged down by a tendency towards stalemates and its first experiences with truly bitter defeats. In the end, despite a desperate effort, the Senators did not emerge from the playoffs, relegated to little more than experimentation duty in the waning days of Super Earth's first multiversal freedomball foray. The Cup of Harmony 92 is the last chance this incarnation of the Senators will have to prove themselves before they are sent back to the frontlines of the Second Galactic War.

The Super Earth Senators - Equipment

Image

The Home uniform is in SEAF-standard sky blue with a white and a yellow vertical stripe, blue pants and white socks, with the Super Earth flag logo displayed. The Away uniform is Helldiver black with a Helldiver yellow vertical stripe, and the Helldiver skull insignia displayed, with black pants and socks. The Goalkeeper uniform is chequered yellow-and-yellower with black sleeves and the Helldiver skull insignia again displayed, with the pattern continued down the pants and black socks.

The Super Earth Senators are a highly dynamic and aggressive team. Though they excel at coordination and thrive under pressure, they lack the extensive field experience of professional athletes, instead having the extensive field experience of highly-trained* military specialists. Their expected field strategy revolves around relentless aggression and a refusal to give a moment's relief to either side involved in the confrontation. While this sledgehammer of a strategy brought them acclaim in the Baptism of Fire, it has had mixed results in truly competitive sporting environments.

The coach of the team is Sporting Officer Myrom, a retired Democracy Officer given new purpose. He comes from a long lineage of professional athletes, and is known for his exceptional ability to conjure useful platitudes and his devoted attention to punishing treasonous lines of thinking. Myrom is also responsible for ensuring adequate behaviour on the part of the Super Earth Senators during their foreign travels, and to protect them from hostile propaganda whether implicit, explicit, complicit or non-plicit.

In accordance with their military approach to the event, they have forgone their standard names in favour of their chosen combat monikers (nicknames). For the sake of completeness, both standard names and field designations will be provided here (e.g in the field, a patriot may be known as Keeper, but their name may be John Smith). Names are given in the order "first name" "surname".

Goalkeepers

SweeperAakash VadekarMale18Choepessa IV

The expected first choice for goalkeeper is Fisher, an eight-foot goliath of a man, though since the reclamation of his homeworld of Oshaune he has proven less and less motivated. Sally is a reserve option, a Hellmirian woman used to both fire tornados and burning herself with the scorching heat of the LAS-17 Double Edge Sickle in combat. Sweeper serves as a calmer alternative option should the others falter, a former member of the 1084th Minesweepers used to taking explosives head-on without a hint of panic and surviving the outcome.

The star of the defensive lineup is without a doubt Kicker, an expert grenade-kicker able to return incoming projectiles as reflexively as he breathes. Former explosives expert Briggs offers an equally dynamic defence, though with less kick accuracy. Lagrange is a long-range specialist known to punt the ball halfway across the field without missing her mark, an especially essential component of the team’s success- responsible for enabling the vast majority of the team's more outlandish plays. Vigil is a specialist in unflinching returns and peripheral awareness- a much-needed asset in a team of adrenaline-fuelled Helldivers. Ballast serves as a shadow of opposing movements, instinctively knowing the optimal position to take given the field situation. Tropic is an unremarkable but solid all-rounder who maintains team morale with well-placed comedic degradations of the opposition. Matron serves as a backup for the heavyweight defenders, and Longshot is dedicated to replacing Lagrange specifically if necessary.

The synergy between the ferociously aggressive midfielders Cindy and Teph forms the core of the centre's strength for the Senators. The more defensive Cuff and Asma provide caution born of law enforcement experience and chemical weapons handling respectively. Catspaw serves as an agile generalist support option for the more essential players. The reserve lineup is perhaps the greatest liability of the team should it be relied upon, featuring many unproven generalists. Virus and Rinker are unremarkable supplements, while Cheers is a ceremonial inclusion not expected to see actual performance. As a whole, the midfield is Super Earth's weakest theatre even at its best.

Deadman is the most crucial player of the entire team, providing an overwhelming tide of aggression befitting a man who pre-inscribed his former name on the Wall of Martyrs- and is noted as one of the most prolific goalscorers of the Baptism of Fire 87. Wader and Chop, both melee combat specialists, provide a daunting ability to navigate crowds and strike at unexpected angles. Ret is a precision attacker known to go for ludicrous sniper shots straight for the goal at absurd distances and sometimes even making them work. Stripes serves as a backup option for the hyper-aggressive forwarders, with Buzz being a more strategic reservist focused on coordination strikes and maintaining formation. Creeper was once an unremarkable backup player, but garnered a firm reputation as the last-minute saviour of the Senators, finding creative ways to score goals and turn defeats into draws in the last possible moments. Lassie is a less exotic reservist intended for a generalist, stamina-focused backup performance should she need to replace someone.

The Seyshel Beach Avengement Day Memorial Stadium

Seven weeks of dedicated, inexplicable effort from a significant contingent of the Helldiver Corps led to the liberation of the planet Seyshel Beach. Avengement Day is the local celebration of this reclamation, and in its honour a new freedomball stadium was erected on the purple planet, within the city of Beachview. The stadium was designed around a hellbomb crater, itself generated around the last Illuminate monolith to be obliterated in the city. The stadium has been authorised for use in the World Cup 100 should it be required. While local weather is temperate, a climate of of patriotic celebration is almost impossible to escape, especially given that the tournament is scheduled to begin just after Liberty Day. The prospects of an Illuminate invasion during the World Cup have been assessed as “unlikely” and all would-be visitors are encouraged to trust in the 100%** win rate of the Helldivers on the planet.

Formation: 4-2-3-1

After the end of the nation's isolationist monarchy, Choppyhausen's athletes are finally able to compete in international cups and tournaments. As the best 25 representatives of Choppyhausen's most popular sport, the national football team is keen on showing their skill to the world and they are aware that the whole country will be watching their performance in this World Cup. The "Team in Teal" had a successful entry into the world of international football, achieving second place in this cycle's Baptism of Fire. Even though they had an amazing start into the World Cup Qualification, the energy seemed to drop nearing the end, leading to Choppyhausen falling out of the playoff spot on the very last matchday of the qualifiers. Now, the team is eager to use their second chance to show the world what they are capable of.

Coach Harmon Merrit's team may lack international experience compared to other participants, but they make up for it with individual quality, high motivation and team spirit. Led by national goalkeeping legend and captain Weiner-Kracht, the tactics of the Choppyhausen national team revolve around their quick and technically gifted wingers, Keil and Iduna. In attacking and counter-attacking situations, the full-backs – known for their accurate crosses – push forward to support the attack, aiming to find Corte, Choppyhausen’s classic centre-forward, in the box.
When out of possession, they drop back to support the tall central defenders, working to shut down any threat from the opposition.
Starting 11

Manuel WEINER-KRACHT (#1, GK, 29) - (C)
Choppyhausen's captain is a national legend. The goalkeeper is feared among forwards for his exceptional one-on-one qualities. Compared to his international colleagues, his build-up play might be a bit weaker but his spirit and strive for victory are only matched by few.

David BENDER-MCKAY (#2, LB, 30)
Bender-McKay might be the oldest player in Choppyhausen's starting lineup but that does not stop him from sprinting down the left flank whenever possible. The left back is one of the most experienced players of the team and his pinpoint crosses are notorious.

Milo HOLDENBECK (#3, CB, 22)
"Built like a tank and yet as agile as a gazelle" said Holdenbeck's first scouting report. The 22 year old is among the fastest players in the team - especially useful when an offside trap did not work. When he's not winning the ball with a daring sliding tackle, he likes to send the ball flying across the pitch, sometimes as a clearance, sometimes as a dangerous offensive pass.

Henrik FREDERIKSEN (#4, CB, 27)
Frederiksen is exactly what most managers look for in a center back. He is tall, strong and not afraid to be a bit tougher against his opponents when needed. During set pieces, Frederiksen and his 1.92m can become quite the threat infront of goal.

Til LAMPE (#16, RB, 23)
Originally meant as a substitute in the Baptism of Fire, Lampe managed to snatch a starting position from Oak with strong performances in the group stages of the tournament. When in possession of the ball, he likes to play forward which sometimes leads to mistakes in his defensive play.

Ivo TYR (#6, DM, 29)
The captain of one of Choppyhausen's best football teams - Triangle Vastonburg - who has long established himself as one of the best defensive midfielders in the country. With his excellent passing accuracy, he is expected to be the key point of the Choppyhausenian build-up play.

Andre FINCH (#19, DM, 25)
Next to Tyr in the defensive midfield you will find Andre Finch who was promoted to the starting lineup after a strong performance in IAC24. The 25 year old impresses with his strong tackling skills and accurate through balls that brought him three assists in the recent Baptism of Fire.

Dominik KEIL (#8, LW, 25)
Get the ball -> Run a bit -> Dribble past opponents -> Run a bit more -> Cross in the middle -> Goal (hopefully). That seems to bei Dominik Keil's playing mantra and it is quite succesful leading to three goals in the Baptism of Fire.

Tommy LUKESON (#9, AM, 20)
"Young and energetic with the right drive toward the goal", is how coach Merrit descibed the offensive midfielder in a recent interview. Even though he is one of the youngest players in the team, Lukeson has succesfully defended his starting position, contributing a combined amount nine goals and four assists at the Baptism of Fire and the World Cup Qualifiers. He loves to leave opposing defenders in his wake with his skillful dribbling and isn't afraid to shoot from unlikely angles, even if his risky style of play is sometimes frowned upon by the coach.

Marco IDUNA (#10, RW, 22)
Iduna was the team's second best scorer in the Baptism of Fire where his performance was particularly important as each of his goals was Choppyhausen's first goal of the game. His domain is the right wing, where he loves to sprint down to the byline and cross in the box.

Jule CORTE (#11, CF, 28)
Corte is probably the most important player in Choppyhausen's offensive play. The team's classic centre forward won the "Golden Ball" for Player of the Tournament by Stewartika's SFA Technical Study Group in the 87th Baptism of Fire, scoring nearly a third of all of Choppyhausen's goals. He managed to continue this feat in the WC Qualifiers, where he scored 13 of the team's 35 goals. Corte is known for being cold-blooded and humorless infront of goal, usually scoring without a lot of trickery.

The Oceanic Paradise of Dantopia is an island nation located in the South Pacific. The country boasts an idyllic tropical landscape, a smattering of clean and modern metropolitan areas, a vibrant and bustling tourism industry, along with major contributions from tech, financial services and retail. The Dantopia men's national football team represents Dantopia in international football. The team's inaugural appearance in the South Pacific Cup saw the Lions winning the competition, defeating Evinea in the final 2-1. Dantopia participated in the Baptism of Fire 81, as well as the World Cup 94 and World Cup 100 qualifiers, and Cup of Harmony 86. The team made the round of 16 in the Baptism of Fire but failed to advance from the group stages in either the World Cup 94 qualifiers, World Cup 100 qualifiers, or Cup of Harmony 86.

Football is the most popular sport in Dantopia. The Dantopian Football Association (DFA) governs professional football in Dantopia, and they currently administer two professional divisions of football — aptly named Divisions 1 and 2 — in a two-tiered, closed league system. Division 1 (sometimes shortened to D1) is the highest level of the Dantopian football league system. Contested by twelve clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the other divisions within the Dantopian Football Association's league system. Division 1 is the most-watched sports league in Dantopia, and is hoping to grow its audience internationally long-term. The league takes advantage of a lucrative television rights deal with Papaya, a Dantopian technology company.

Fans of the Dantopian national team are fiercely supportive, but also extremely respectful, noted for helping clean up stadiums after the end of football games. There are a number of strongly contested local rivalries within Dantopia, but it is rare that these fixtures lead to anything major in the way of disruption or disorderly conduct from fanbases. Dantopia is home to many state of the art football stadiums, with the newly constructed National Team Stadium (NTS) being the official home of the Dantopian National Team. It boats a capacity of over 100,000 seats and sits adjacent to the capital Lion City's downtown district.

Manufacturer: Nerio (Image Dantopia)
Material: 100% recycled polyester
Additional details: All Nerio football kits are made with polyester sourced from ocean plastics, part of Nerio's 'cliMATE' campaign.

Dantopia's traditional home colours are a navy shirt with white shorts and red socks. Traditionally the away strip is a a white shirt with blue shorts and white socks. The third strip for this cycle is an all-black ensemble (with black shorts and black socks too). In the event of shorts and socks kit clashes in an away fixture, alternative coloured shorts and socks are sometimes used (such as the navy home strip with navy shorts and red socks to avoid a clash with a team with white shorts etc.)

The Dantopian National Team's presence on the international stage has been spotty, but off the back of a very positive - albeit unsuccessful qualifying run - have once again found themselves invited to the Cup of Harmony. Rick Bishop's side performed admirably in Group 9 of the World Cup qualifiers, and that same squad will be looking to make an equally impressive impact in Zwangzug and the Busoga Islands. Here are the profiles of each of the 26 men the manager has selected.

ImageImage
#1 - Alex Bullvale
Position(s): Goalkeeper | Age: 32 | Height: 191 cm (6'3") | Weight: 77 kg (170 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Right | Club: Kyethas Rivermen (Image Tikariot) | Play style: Ball-Playing Keeper | cica.da: @alex.bullvale
International Caps: 16 | Goals: 0 | Assists: 0 | Clean Sheets: 6 | Awards: South Pacific Cup Winner (x1)
Having spent the past 5 seasons playing in the TPL for the Rivermen, Bullvale is Dantopia's most experienced goalkeeper at a high level. His modern ball-playing style of play is well suited to Rick Bishop's tactical philosophy for the team, though it's expected that Bullvale's shot-stopping ability will be his most relied upon skill as the relative inexperience of the squad on the international stage will mean he remains busy at the back.
ImageImage
#2 - Will Cross
Position(s): Right Back / Centre Back | Age: 28 | Height: 179 cm (5'10") | Weight: 78 kg (172 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Right | Club: Grenadiers (Image Dantopia) | Play style: Inside Full Back / Wide Centre Back | cica.da: @willcross.2
International Caps: 13 | Goals: 0 | Assists: 1 | Clean Sheets: 4 | Awards: None
Developed initially in the Grenadiers academy as a centre back, Cross has found more game time at right back over the years, and has now solidified himself in that position for the national team as well. He is able to venture forward and provide a ball into the box as his name aptly suggests, but is generally much more comfortable sliding into a back three when the team is in possession.
ImageImage
#3 - Dwight Krol
Position(s): Left Back / Centre Back | Age: 26 | Height: 185 cm (6'1") | Weight: 80 kg (176 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Left | Club: Portland Pirates (Image Dantopia) | Play style: Wing Back / Wide Centre Back | cica.da: @dwight.krol
International Caps: 9 | Goals: 0 | Assists: 1 | Clean Sheets: 1 | Awards: None
Used interchangeably as a left back or left centre back in his early career, the Tumbran-born Kroll has established himself as a proper wingback, capable of overlapping and providing quality crosses into the box. His bread and butter is one-on-one defending, though he is at times prone to not checking his shoulder at the far post, something that national team manager Rick Bishop will be keenly aware of as a former goalkeeper himself.
ImageImage
#4 - Keegan Foster
Position(s): Centre Back | Age: 25 | Height: 192 cm (6'4") | Weight: 85 kg (187 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Left | Club: Miruan City (Image Tikariot) | Play style: Covering Defender / No-Nonsense Defender | cica.da: @keegan.foster
International Caps: 14 | Goals: 1 | Assists: 0 | Clean Sheets: 5 | Awards: None
Having plied his trade as a physical, no-nonsense centre back in the TPL with both Khalgarh Valley and Miruan City, Foster is one pair of dual national Dantopian-Tikariotian defenders that has been called up to the national team for the Cup of Harmony. Alongside Emerson Cromwell, Foster will likely see consistent minutes, and be expected to marshal the Lions’ defence through a barrage of attacks from international opponents.
ImageImage
#5 - Emerson Cromwell
Position(s): Centre Back | Age: 26 | Height: 188 cm (6'2") | Weight: 80 kg (176 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Right | Club: Veriasod Wolves (Image Tikariot) | Play style: Ball-Playing Defender | cica.da: @emerson.cromwell
International Caps: 13 | Goals: 0 | Assists: 0 | Clean Sheets: 5 | Awards: None
The other Dantopian-Tikariotian dual national centre back that has been called up to help the Lions through their Cup of Harmony run, Emerson Cromwell is the ideal centre back partner for Keegan Foster. Quick, with good fundamentals, and excellent ball-playing ability. What he lacks in physical dominance compared to Foster, he more than makes up for in insightful and intelligent defending.
ImageImage
#6 - Dani Spaghetti
Position(s): Defensive Midfielder / Central Midfielder | Age: 33 | Height: 185 cm (6'1") | Weight: 80 kg (176 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Right | Club: Grenadiers (Image Dantopia) | Play style: Holding Midfielder / Deep-Lying Playmaker | cica.da: @dani.spaghetti
International Caps: 49 | Goals: 2 | Assists: 3 | Awards: South Pacific Cup Winner (x1)
The long-serving, metronomic anchor in the middle of the park for Dantopia, who often dictates the game without ever leaving the centre-circle, Spaghetti will see his minutes diminish slightly now that he is 33. What he is able to offer will still be of sufficient quality for the Lions as they look to control the midfield, and Spaghetti’s eye for the long-range screamer is still a well-known subject on any scouting report made of him.
ImageImage
#7 - Johnny Kealoha
Position(s): Attacking Midfielder / Central Midfielder | Age: 28 | Height: 175 cm (5'9") | Weight: 73 kg (161 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Right | Club: Kyethas Rivermen (Image Tikariot) | Play style: Advanced Playmaker / Box-to-Box Playmaker | cica.da: @johnny.kealoha
International Caps: 14 | Goals: 4 | Assists: 9 | Awards: None
Despite the shirt number, Kealoha is a classic number 10, and has been a crucial asset for the Rivermen in Tikariot’s top flight for a number of years. Dantopia’s most dangerous attacks will likely all be orchestrated by Kealoha, who possesses spectacular passing vision, for both short and long range, from in the middle of the park or out wide. He is also a set-piece specialist, and will be on all of Dantopia’s corners and free kicks.
ImageImage
#8 - Ezra Cunningham
Position(s): Central Midfielder | Age: 28 | Height: 186 cm (6'1") | Weight: 75 kg (165 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Right | Club: Club ESF (Image Valanora) | Play style: Box-to-Box Midfielder | cica.da: @ezra.cunningham
International Caps: 53 | Goals: 10 | Assists: 7 | Awards: South Pacific Cup Winner (x1)
A complete midfielder, and a jack of all trades in many respects, Ezra Cunningham is a box-to-box number 8, and has particularly shown an excellent ability to make late third man runs even beyond the strikers at times. He offers an ideal link between defence and attack, able to use his frame to protect the ball, whilst taking advantage of his long legs to drive into opposition territory and eat up the yards quickly.
ImageImage
#9 - Bradini Brunson
Position(s): Centre Forward | Age: 26 | Height: 182 cm (6'0") | Weight: 75 kg (165 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Right | Club: Lion City FC (Image Dantopia) | Play style: Advanced Forward | cica.da: @bradini.9.brunson
International Caps: 15 | Goals: 7 | Assists: 1 | Awards: None
Named by his parents after legendary Starblaydian player Simeone Di Bradini, Brunson will occupy the main centre-forward role for the Lions during the Cup of Harmony. The pressure that his name has put on him during his career has perhaps not been fulfilled, but he offers a very direct style of attack for the Lions, as he looks to stay on the shoulder of his defenders, getting in behind with his lightning pace at a moment’s notice.
ImageImage
#10 - Michael Danchevy
Position(s): Left Winger / Centre-Forward | Age: 34 | Height: 186 cm (6'1") | Weight: 70 kg (154 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Right | Club: Tikariot City (Image Tikariot) | Play style: Inside Forward / Advanced Forward | cica.da: @michael.danchevy
International Caps: 51 | Goals: 31 | Assists: 10 | Awards: South Pacific Cup Winner (x1)
The most experienced veteran of the side, and the national team captain, Michael Danchevy still has lots to offer at the age of 34. His pace has not left him quite yet, and his skilfulness and eye for goal is something he could carry with him right towards his 40s if he so desired. He is the talisman of this Dantopia side and will be on penalty duties whenever he is on the field.
ImageImage
#11 - Adebayo Adeyemi
Position(s): Right Winger | Age: 30 | Height: 178 cm (5'10") | Weight: 65 kg (143 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Left | Club: Grenadiers (Image Dantopia) | Play style: Outlet Winger | cica.da: @adebayo.adeyemi
International Caps: 52 | Goals: 16 | Assists: 10 | Awards: South Pacific Cup Winner (x1)
Adeyemi’s move to Pesfield Trees in Sylestone ultimately didn’t work out for the gifted winger, and he moved back to the Grenadiers, but he maintains the confidence of those who follow the Lions. Adeyemi, who is comfortable with both feet, alongside Brunson and Danchevy will have most defenders beaten for pace, showcasing The Lions’ counter-attacking prowess.
ImageImage
#12 - Raphael Lacroix
Position(s): Right Back / Left Back | Age: 27 | Height: 183 cm (6'0") | Weight: 72 kg (159 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Right | Club: Dartford Oilers (Image Dantopia) | Play style: Wing Back | cica.da: @raph.la.croix
International Caps: 7 | Goals: 0 | Assists: 0 | Clean Sheets: 2 | Awards: None
The versatile and ambipedal Lacroix is an Oilers academy graduate who’s best asset is his ability to play both the right and left back positions equally well. His quick acceleration and ability to play balls into the box with either foot will be sorely sought after when the Lions need to make changes to chase a game, though his one-on-one defending can be lacking at times.
ImageImage
#13 - Winston Akana
Position(s): Goalkeeper | Age: 26 | Height: 190 cm (6'3") | Weight: 91 kg (201 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Right | Club: Lion City FC (Image Dantopia) | Play style: Sweeper Keeper | cica.da: @winst1.akana
International Caps: 1 | Goals: 0 | Assists: 0 | Clean Sheets: 0 | Awards: None
Another Tumbran-Dantopian dual national, who has chosen to represent Dantopia internationally, Akana will offer the Lions a serviceable back-up to the reliable Alex Bullvale. Akana lacks the impressive passing vision of Bullvale, but he is an assertive and agile sweeper keeper, with impressive reflexes. He might not see much game time, but when called upon, will offer his all.
ImageImage
#14 - Maverick Johnson
Position(s): Left Winger / Right Winger | Age: 28 | Height: 173 cm (5'8") | Weight: 67 kg (148 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Right | Club: Dartford Oilers (Image Dantopia) | Play style: Outlet Winger / Inside Forward | cica.da: @maverick.j
International Caps: 11 | Goals: 1 | Assists: 2 | Awards: None
Maverick by name and Maverick by nature. There is rarely a dull moment when following the life and career of Maverick Johnson. Small in stature, but powerful and incredibly direct. He possesses a wonderful right foot and a silky-smooth touch. What he also possesses, though, is a bit of an ego, and that is certainly something that could hold him back from becoming an elite player.
ImageImage
#15 - Ash Morgan
Position(s): Centre Back | Age: 27 | Height: 190 cm (6'3") | Weight: 75 kg (165 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Right | Club: Dartford City (Image Dantopia) | Play style: Ball-Playing Defender | cica.da: @ash.morgan
International Caps: 7 | Goals: 0 | Assists: 0 | Clean Sheets: 1 | Awards: None
A dependable rock at the back for Dartford City, Morgan is calm and collected on the ball, very press-resistant when playing out from the back. He lacks the experience of Cromwell or Foster at the top level, but is a capable defender in his own right and when called upon, will not let the Lions down. His aerial presence on set-pieces, whether attacking or defending them, is perhaps his best quality of all.
ImageImage
#16 - Kai Watanabe
Position(s): Defensive Midfielder / Central Midfielder | Age: 24 | Height: 178 cm (5'10") | Weight: 77 kg (170 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Left | Club: Portland Pirates (Image Dantopia) | Play style: Ball-Winning Midfielder / Pressing Midfielder | cica.da: @kai.watanabe
International Caps: 9 | Goals: 0 | Assists: 0 | Awards: None
If you are looking for a midfielder with the legs and lungs of three men, look no further than Kai Watanabe. A true work-horse that will work tirelessly to win the ball back. His engine is obviously his upside, but he doesn’t quite possess the ball-playing ability of his midfield counterparts in the squad, so will have to be accompanied by a playmaker alongside him in midfield.
ImageImage
#17 - Nehemiah Cunningham
Position(s): Central Midfielder / Defensive Midfielder | Age: 26 | Height: 191 cm (6'3") | Weight: 75 kg (165 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Right | Club: Rockport Ravens (Image Dantopia) | Play style: Holding Midfielder | cica.da: @nehemiah.cunningham
International Caps: 9 | Goals: 0 | Assists: 0 | Awards: None
The younger brother of Ezra, Nehemiah is a little more defensively minded than his brother, preferring to hold the midfield shape and allow others the freedom to explore the spaces further up the field. This more disciplined approach will prove useful if the Lions have to maintain their shape or protect a lead. Where Ezra has sought pastures new overseas, Nehemiah has stayed true to Rockport at home, the brothers’ boyhood club.
ImageImage
#18 - Nico Hollins
Position(s): Right Winger | Age: 26 | Height: 180 cm (5'11") | Weight: 65 kg (143 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Left | Club: Portland Pirates (Image Dantopia) | Play style: Outlet Winger / Tracking Winger | cica.da: @nico.hollins
International Caps: 10 | Goals: 0 | Assists: 1 | Awards: None
The third and final Tumbran-Dantopian dual national to make the team, Nico Hollins offers oodles of energy and enthusiasm off the bench. Tireless in his pursuit of breaking offside traps, Hollins is also a dogged defender from the wing, utilising his impressive stamina in all aspects of his game. He offers the national team a fantastic option off the bench for when opposition legs are tiring.
ImageImage
#19 - Jeremiah Jackson Jr.
Position(s): Centre Forward / Left Winger | Age: 28 | Height: 186 cm (6'1") | Weight: 77 kg (170 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Right | Club: Lion City FC (Image Dantopia) | Play style: Advanced Forward / Inside Forward | cica.da: @triple.j
International Caps: 10 | Goals: 0 | Assists: 0 | Awards: None
The deputy striker to Bradini Brunson, JJJ (or Triple J), by whom he is often referred, is very similar in profile to the former. Fast, agile and always looking to get in behind, Jeremiah can also operate equally effectively from the left wing, cutting in on his stronger right foot, which can feel like a cannon if you let him fire from distance. JJJ has all the tools, but sometimes lacks the consistency of those ahead of him.
ImageImage
#20 - Will Fodderingham
Position(s): Attacking Midfielder / Right Winger | Age: 32 | Height: 171 cm (5'7") | Weight: 69 kg (152 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Left | Club: Dartford City (Image Dantopia) | Play style: Advanced Playmaker / Wide Playmaker | cica.da: @fill.wodderingham
International Caps: 46 | Goals: 4 | Assists: 7 | Awards: South Pacific Cup Winner (x1)
A veteran presence in attacking midfield for the Lions, Fodderingham has always used his slight frame to be tricky and incisive. Whether played centrally or out wide, Fodderingham is a natural playmaker, and will look to play those final balls into the box for the Dantopian forwards. Now aged 32, gone are the days of his boyish charm and experimental haircuts, though he is still a firm favourite amongst many lady supporters.
ImageImage
#21 - Kaleb Kahananui
Position(s): Left Back / Central Midfielder | Age: 18 | Height: 178 cm (5'10") | Weight: 72 kg (159 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Left | Club: Vna-Chuhul Ravens (Image Tikariot) | Play style: Inverted Wing Back / Pressing Midfielder | cica.da: @kaleb.kahananui
International Caps: 14 | Goals: 1 | Assists: 2 | Clean Sheets: 5 | Awards: None
Precocious, ferocious and tenacious, the young Kaleb Kahananui will likely be the Lions' first choice left back this campaign. Deployed in a number of roles in the Grenadiers academy, including left back, left midfield and central midfield, Kahananui is a very versatile, modern left back, with an excellent attitude and fundamentals. He has recently signed for the Vna-Chuhul Ravens in the TPL to take the next steps in his burgeoning career.
ImageImage
#22 - Sam Robinson-Tate
Position(s): Centre Back / Right Back / Left Back | Age: 22 | Height: 188 cm (6'2") | Weight: 77 kg (170 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Right | Club: Waiakea Warriors (Image Dantopia) | Play style: Covering Defender / Inside Full Back | cica.da: @s.r.t.22
International Caps: 2 | Goals: 0 | Assists: 0 | Clean Sheets: 0 | Awards: None
Able to cover a multitude of roles in defence, SRT, as he is affectionately nicknamed, is another excellent role player for Rick Bishop’s side, and will do whatever is asked of him when he is called upon. An academy graduate of the Waiakea Warriors, Robinson-Tate has been rumoured to be open to exploring a move abroad to further his development, but lacked sufficient playing time during the World Cup Qualifiers to showcase his abilities.
ImageImage
#23 - Zeke Edwards
Position(s): Centre Forward | Age: 19 | Height: 193 cm (6'4") | Weight: 82 kg (181 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Left | Club: Waiakea Warriors (Image Dantopia) | Play style: Target Forward | cica.da: @zeke.edwards
International Caps: 8 | Goals: 2 | Assists: 0 | Awards: None
Where Brunson and Jackson Jr. offer pure pace, Zeke Edwards is able to provide power and precision. A more traditional target man in every sense, Edwards thrives on playing with his back to goal, flicking the ball onto the faster forwards around him, and he also has a knack for being in the right spot at the right time for any cut-backs or crosses into the box. If plan A isn’t working for the Lions, Edwards is very much their plan B.
ImageImage
#24 - Tyson Taylor
Position(s): Centre Back | Age: 18 | Height: 182 cm (6'0") | Weight: 76 kg (168 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Left | Club: Shoreline Sharks (Image Dantopia) | Play style: Covering Defender / Ball-Playing Defender | cica.da: @ty.taylor
International Caps: 2 | Goals: 0 | Assists: 0 | Clean Sheets: 1 | Awards: None
A young, up-and-coming centre back with high potential, Tyson Taylor is still quite raw at the moment. Perhaps his invitation to the Cup of Harmony squad is an indicator at the lack of quality depth in the national team, but the experience will also do him the world of good, even if it is just being around the other players and training with them. Expect him to make a few appearances here and there, to help with his development.
ImageImage
#25 - Elleby Young
Position(s): Central Midfielder / Attacking Midfielder | Age: 20 | Height: 181 cm (5'11") | Weight: 80 kg (176 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Left | Club: Apollo FC (Image Dantopia) | Play style: Box-to-Box Playmaker / Advanced Playmaker | cica.da: @elleby.young
International Caps: 2 | Goals: 0 | Assists: 1 | Awards: None
Another young up-and-comer, Elleby is an agile, technical dribbler, who always excelled amongst his peers at academy level. He will provide good competition to the likes of Kai Watanable and Nehemiah Cunningham for minutes off the bench in midfield. Perhaps the time is right for Young to make his name on the main stage and secure a move abroad to help develop his game further.
ImageImage
#26 - Marty Gartner
Position(s): Goalkeeper | Age: 27 | Height: 193 cm (6'4") | Weight: 92 kg (203 lbs)
Preferred Foot: Left | Club: Apollo FC (Image Dantopia) | Play style: Line-Holding Goalkeeper | cica.da: @marty.gartner
International Caps: 1 | Goals: 0 | Assists: 0 | Clean Sheets: 1 | Awards: None
Rounding out the squad is Apollo FC goalkeeper Marty Gartner, who is a fine keeper in his own right, but firmly behind in the pecking order compared to Bullvale and Akana. Gartner won't be expected to secure many minutes, but the role of the third goalkeeper in any squad is always more about training and things behind the scenes. Gartner has a good head on his shoulders, and will be a good locker room presence.

Harold Northgate departed his role as National Team manager before this cycle, with a final record of 18 wins, 15 draws and 8 losses. He successfully led the Lions to winning the South Pacific Cup, a round of 16 exit in the 81st edition of the Baptism of Fire, and an admirable - albeit unsuccessful - qualifying campaign in World Cup 94. With a new manager at the helm, the Lions carried on that good work with with a spirited campaign in the World Cup 100 Qualifiers. However, qualification was still just out of reach. Below is a profile of the new national team manager, and a breakdown of his preferred tactics...

Recently retired goalkeeper Rick Bishop has entered the fray as national team manager, upon the completion of his coaching badges whilst finishing his career off in Tikariot with Baraldhur FC. It was there where Bishop shone and helped the Dragons win an unlikely TPL championship in season 112. He brings with him that experience, along with a South Pacific Cup Winners medal with the national team whilst he was still playing.

Style Mod: +1.00

Styles of play:

Two distinct styles of play that the team can regularly fluctuate between, and a strong emphasis on set-pieces

    • In possession:
Structured; distinct patterns of play when building out from the back; emphasis on keeping possession of the ball; two advanced midfielders occupy gaps between the opposition midfield and defence; wingers use entire width of the pitch to stretch opposition defence; shift of the ball from side to side in order to find gaps in opposition defence; moderately high defensive line to push up the pitch, put pressure on the opposition and create an offside trap
    • In transition:
Fast and direct; wingers stay high and wide to provide outlets for long balls either from the back or from the midfield; emphasis on exploiting the pace of the front three to attack the defence; focus on outside to in as the point of attack; late runs into the box from the two advanced midfielders; rest defence don't advance and provide structure in case of losing possession
    • Set pieces:
Strong set-piece specialists in the team (J. Kealoha, M. Danchevy); a multitude of carefully orchestrated set-piece plays; good aerial threats (K. Foster, E. Cromwell, D. Spaghetti, E. Cunningham); J. Kealoha takes corners and most free kicks; M. Danchevy takes penalties and some free kicks; W. Fodderingham offers a strong left-footed option off the bench

National team manager Rick Bishop likes to line the side up in a 4-3-3, which converts to a 3-2-2-3 (or 3-box-3) when in possession. A defensive 3 behind the DM and LB make up a solid rest defence structure. The two remaining midfielders fill the half spaces. The wingers stay high and wide for outlets when counter-attacking.

The National Team play their home games at the newly constructed National Team Stadium (NTS) which is located in the capital of Lion City. The new ground boasts a capacity of over 100,000 seats and a retractable roof, not that the weather is ever particularly poor in the tropical island city. The stadium is fed by great transportation links to accommodate match-going fans. Often times, the DFA distribute the nation's World Cup qualifying home matches between a number of different stadiums across Dantopia, and the most recent World Cup 100 qualifying cycle was no different, with venues including; the Kava Bowl (Waiakea); Gēcko Arena (Lion City); Bank of Dantopia Stadium (Dartford); Dantopian Airways Stadium (Lion City); DT Centre (Portland); and Quay Arena (Lion City). In the Cup of Harmony, however, all matches will be played within the host nations of Zwangzug and the Busoga Islands.

This will have to be updated

Manager

A third tournament for the Red Turtles and a third manager: it’s quite peculiar after all. After the WC99 qualifiers, Archibald Price was kindly asked to step down (read: was given the boot) after some controversy over his choice of ‘permitted’ Jouko Pesonen into the selection. As we all know, permitted are people who live in Anewkansas on a ‘yellow permit’, a card which allows them to be employed in the nation for a nondescript number of years and who have been brought in to boost the economic activity of a certain branch. It works quite well, with more and more of these sorts of deals being made with foreign nations who have an abundance of labor force. Two years after the controversy, players such as Pesonen are allowed on strict conditions (living in Anewkansas for seven years and having been under the age of 18 at arrival) but that does not mean Price will return, even if he performed more than decently in his qualifying run.

His successor Everett Steadman will not make a return appearance either, despite winning the Cup of Harmony against all odds. Whether the team won because of, or despite, Steadman (a blatant plug from the secret services) will remain a mystery forever but that his relation with the players group was explosive was clear to see. With that in mind, the AFA took the surprisingly sane decision to end the contract with Steadman and to pick an actual football coach. The choice fell to Trevor Augustus and that was, to say the least, not undisputed. Everyone agrees that the 45-year-old manager is innovative and communicative but in his last two clubs, he did not make the end of the first season. Fun and joy is all well, but can Augustus reach results with this selection?

Goalkeepers

1. Jouko Pesonen (25 - BlackWood Industries City)
12. Izak Powell (26 - Oakling Sharks)
23. Rhys Pierce (19 - Bridgehead Mavericks)

The man at the center of any and all controversy so far, much against his own will. But Jouko Pesonen will return and with the official number one on his back. Let there be no doubt, the lanky, spider-like Pesonen is the best keeper to ply his trade on Anewkansan territory. But for a certain section of the audience, he will never be seen as full. A disappointing thing, as they miss out on a goalie who adds reflexes, air dominance and more than decent feet, a combination yet to be found in someone whose crib happened to stand on Anewkansan clay. The (for a goalie) short and (for a human being) energetic Powell made his peace with a stand-in role and gets generally lauded for his teamspirit. He’s a decent alternative, nothing less, nothing more. As a third option, the talented Rhys Pierce emerges. He might not be the third-best goalkeeper yet, but the question is not if but when he will be the best.

Defenders

2. Baylor Rivers (26 - Mount Bleak Ironheads)
3. Dominic Merrick (35 - Bridgehead Mavericks)
4. Piotr Gaziewski (24 - Bridgehead Hammers)
5. Karl Hullbacher (30 - Officers Club)
13. Sven Almsund (33 - Sporting Sixth)
14. Parker Stafford (27 - Officers Club)
15. Salvatore Walls (25 - Sporting Sixth)
25. Yoan Jaffrenou (19 - Springland Cowboys)

One of the ways in which Augustus made his mark on the selection was to pick Piotr Gaziewski to rejuvenate the backline. The strong yet fast back just made the selection criteria for ‘permitted’s and should compliment the grizzled experience from Dom Merrick. In a way, both centre backs enjoy a studs-first tackle, but Merrick has a better chance to get away with it. The defensive viewpoint of our national team shows in the starting position of the unadventurous yet efficient starting role for Hullbacher. ‘Bay’ Rivers will try to penetrate enemy territory a bit more but don’t expect anything resembling ‘sexy’ football from this defensive line. On the bench, there are more troops in that same vein in officer Stafford and a duo of military men in Almsund and Walls. The two became champions twice with the Sixth and can organize a back line, but will focus on stopping opposition. In that sense, Jaffrenou is an intriguing wildcard: a fullback who can overlap and cross to bring on when times require it.

Midfielders

6. Guy Marchand (29 - IntraFin Beavers)
7. Harvey McIntyre (32 - Officers Club)
10. Marcus Puckett (30 - Bridgehead Hammers)
11. Juan José Sevilla (26 - Sporting Sixth)
16. Pitt van Dam (28 - Shakhtar Coalton)
17. Stefan Shaffer (26 - Bridgehead Mavericks)
18. Toussaint Doucouré (23 - Oakling Armada)
19. Blake Herrington (27 - BlackWood Industries City)
21. Montague Doherty (21 - Officers Club)
24. Alan Ridgeway (20 - Greenleave Ritherton)
26. Salvador Guerra (22 - Sporting Sixth)

The five-player midfield gets anchored by two players who will police the traffic in their own way. Guy Marchand is not afraid to cut down the opposition and rarely leaves the field without a card (requiring back-up van Dam to make a good number of minutes as well). On the other hand, there is deep lying playmaker McIntyre who is crucial to pick up balls in the back and restart play. Theoretically, the game plan revolves around Marcus Puckett whose football skills highly outweigh his interpersonal potential: he believes the earth also revolves around him. To compensate for that, Augustus continues the faith in a reliable assistant, the infiltrating and omnipresent Sevilla, who is that one Sporting player everybody likes. Remarkably, Augustus cuts down to four midfielders, benching added values such as the clever Herrington who always finds a way to speed up the rhythm, the highly promising Doucouré who made the infiltrating pass a new artform and the hardworking Shaffer. To his credit, Augustus looked beyond the usual names and added young new names, although it is an open question whether he will make use of their rather attacking profiles. Playmaker Guerra and the dribbling Doherty showed their potential in the domestic Premier League while Ridgeway was a crucial part of the victorious U21 side.

Attackers

8. Lemar Philips (22 - Officers Club)
9. Pershing Major (29 - Sporting Sixth)
20. Errol Blanton (28 - Oakling Sharks)
22. Royal Novak (31 - Oakling Armada)

In the past, it was easy. One attacker up front and then the choice fell to Pershing Major, who comes from a longstanding line of Majors, majors and other military personnel. ‘Percy’ (as everyone out of earshot calls him) is a graceful attacker who makes war in the box, possesses two good feet and can deliver a thundering shot. But Augustus decided to pair him with the OC’s brightest prospect, Lemar Philips. Fast, both with quick feet and mind, he is a menace in the box. Philips owns the brawl of a track sprinter and whether that will match the stiff upper lip of Major has been the debate that plagues the tabloids already for months. It is not unfair to say that Augustus’ faith depends on their capability to work out the classic ‘tall guy, fast guy’ combination into something more than the sum of its parts. Do expect a lot through the center and as little possession as needed with these two. Their understudies are not a carbon copy version. The towering Errol Blanton definitely adds a better work rate: he is not a striking machine but can allow a team to move forward. Royal Novak got a surprising first call-up as a classic poacher with a mean shot: a player you can only like if he’s on your team.

Stadium

Welcome to Bridgehead! Or Oakling. The home games will be split between Fallstaff Stadium and St Julie’s Den. The former, located in the capital, is a modern, soulless block of concrete that can sell a lot of tickets. Away fans are stuck in a blind corner but otherwise everything will be cleanly handled, including close proximity to the airport. For close games, the FA could fall back to the Oakling option, a smaller but atmospheric venue with a lot of standing areas. Expect flares and smoke bombs there, apparently they are cheaper in this coastal hub. The away dressing room has an extremely inconvenient wall along the middle.

General Style

When it comes to stylish, there is a simple rule: the Turtles play in a red shirt. Full stop. Our kit manager does not care that that is your preferred colour as well and will only bargain with regards to the shorts and socks (default blue-white, but optionally all white or all black). He has a categorical belief that it frightens the opposition and every manager so far is afraid of him. That kit guy is a psychotic skinhead, you know. Goalkeepers play in that chemical blue hue that can be seen from a mile away.

As a football team, Anewkansas will be an annoying opponent: they play physical football and will not shy away from intimidating opposing players. Star midfielders especially should tape in their ankles with an extra layer. On the counterattack, you can expect them to move forward fast and in numbers, but they will crawl back to their own half just as fast. If you can crack the code, make sure to create a gap, quickly. As long as the difference is just one goal, we will turn down the sportsmanship button a few notches more: diving, pushing, spitting, … You name it. But if you truly overpower Anewkansas, they can fall apart like dry sand.

Organisational Stuff

If my opponent posts first, they can decide scorers, hand out cards and give injuries. No killing without discussing it first with me. Unless it's like, genius writing. But if you act silly, I will be silly as well. Same goes for godmodding, you can go crazy if you want but if it’s in poor taste, I might retaliate. Or not. Practically anything goes. But whatever happens, we wear red shirts.

The Langenian National Team for the World Cup

THE LANGENIAN NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM

The Langenian national football team has the distinction of being the pride and joy of the Republic of Langenia, a country where football is widely regarded as the national sport. Langenia's domestic football league is known for its passionate play, hardcore fanbases, and intense rivalries among clubs dating back decades. Although there are other popular sports in the country, namely gridíron and basketball, none of them come close to being as rooted into Langenian culture as futbol, as it is called in Langenia, does.

The national team, nicknamed Los Azules for their distinct blue uniforms, was formed with the purpose of playing neighboring nations around the same time football arrived in Langenia when the 19th century gave way to the 20th. In times of national hardship or division a competition in which the national football team participates is one of the few things that can closely bring the population together. Although it has participated in several competitions within its own region over the decades of its existence, the World Cup is notable in that Los Azules do not often play in large tournaments of an extra-regional scale.

After a disappointing debut international cycle under Adrian Costa's predecessor, Los Azules have changed their style of play and hope to rebound. Costa's first qualifying cycle also went poorly, an unfortunate performance for a young team that seemed to be growing. As it stands, the dream of Los Azules is to turn things around and avoid getting grouped at the Cup of Harmony like they were last time.

Under Adrian Costa through the first six match days of the World Cup 100 qualifiers, Los Azules completed changed their style of play from the fluid attacking football known as El Juego Bello. Unfortunately, El Juego Bello had been dropped given the poor performance of this style of play in the previous international cycle in which the Langenian high defensive line was exposed by superior opponents too frequently. Under the previous manager in their debut international cycle, a heavily attacking-focused Langenian team conceded more goals than it could score, performed poorly against tougher teams in the qualifiers, and dropped out of the Cup of Harmony group stage. Instead, Costa pushed the Langenian team to adopt a highly defensive block, with the team morphing into a 5-4-1 out of possession of the ball with careful man-marking by each Langenian player of their opposing counterparts. When the team had possession of the ball, the Langenians took on a 4-2-3-1 or 4-4-2 shape depending on the type of opposition they faced. Speed was key to scoring goals as Los Azules operate on the counterattack, using quick runs in which the team surged forward to overwhelm the opposing defense and catch them off-guard.

The 4-2-3-1 formation in possession involves a backline of two center-backs, one a physical enforcer and the other a ball-player, two fullbacks who surge backwards and forwards to join in defense or jumpstart attacks on the flank, a midfield double pivot of a defensive-oriented midfielder and a central one focused on distribution, two wingers to cross the ball but most importantly cut inside and score, an attacking midfielder creating goalscoring changes but also carrying out the role of a second striker, and the striker himself, either a false nine focused on clearing defenders out of the way for his fellow forwards or a classic goal-poaching No.9.

The alternative 4-4-2 formation employed by Costa involves the same four-man backline and midfield double pivot, but with the wingers starting on the same part of the pitch as the midfielders and the No.9 striker joined up top by the No.10 attacking midfielder, effectively turning the playmaker of the Langenian team into a second striker.

The 3-5-2 alternative under Costa is more unusual given it uses no right-back, slotting a right winger into that position instead, and places a number 10 behind the striker with a left winger roaming along the flank. The same midfield double pivot remains with a wing-back to their left, a back-three defense is utilized over a more spread-out area. As a result, it more closely resembles a 3-3-2-2.

After a 6-2 defeat to Kelssek in Match Day 5 of the WC Qualifiers in which the Langenians, despite their defensive improvements, conceded several goals, the idea of focusing the team on pure defending was dropped by Costa. Instead, the national team manager brought back El Juego Bello given the abundance of attacking talent on the roster to overcome goalscoring struggles. The switch, combined with a system in which the player defended as a collective out of possession, has created a high-pressing team that once again focuses on possession football and plays a high line but uses their defensive developments when necessary. Nonetheless, it is acknowledged within national team circles that they will likely concede goals multiple times, something Los Azules are more willing to accept than their last international cycle. The hope is that more goals being scored and defending in critical moments such protecting leads will offset this vulnerability.

A notable characteristic of Langenian football is that due to the short stature of many Langenians, the tall, physical strikers often used by other football teams are not common in the country, replaced by "false nines" more diminutive in stature and focused on holding up the ball and linking up play. Thus, the wingers become the primary goal threats of the team, cutting inside on their dominant foots as inside forwards and regularly making attacking runs into the penalty area with the No.10.

Stadium

The home ground of Los Azules is Diego Talaman Stadium. Located in the heart of Aragon, the national capital of Langenia, it can hold up to 80,000 fans for football games. The stadium is named after Diego Talaman, one of the most famous players in Langenian history and the all-time leading goalscorer for the Langenian national team. Construction of the stadium began in 2006 and was completed in 2010, built with the purpose of hosting Los Azules. In addition, it can also host other sports such as gridiron and rugby or be used as a concert venue.

Alternate Venue

Another stadium in which the Langenian national team plays is in Miraflores Stadium in San Jose, the largest city in the country. Located in the city's wealthy Miraflores neighborhood, the stadium has a capacity of up to 70,000 fans for football games and can also host other sports such as gridiron or rugby games. In the past, it has also been utilized as a concert venue. Recently built to host the San Jose CF football team, it acts as an alternate venue for the Los Azules national team.

Formation: 4-2-4

Overview: The Warkus National Football Team is coming off of a serviceable qualifying campaign, finishing fourth as the fourth seed in their group. They're keeping their special World Cup 100 kit for this cycle's Cup of Harmony instead of going with the usual colour scheme. This third generation side is now partway through their second cycle and fighting to break into the top 100. The highs of their first campaign gave way to mediocrity in their second campaign. Now they're in a bit of an awkward limbo phase: Too good to be satisfied with their current performance level and too bad to be considered a serious contender for anything.

The team plays a fluid attacking game which relies on speed and players frequently switching positions. In attack, the full-backs push high and wide to give the wingers space to drift inside while the centre-backs sit a little wider. One of the forwards, typically Colin Emrys, drops deep to play a 'false 9' role (this has, of course, led to debates over whether Warkus really plays a 4-2-3-1 formation instead of a 4-2-4). Both midfielders are expected to be able to play both as a Volante and as a more creative central midfielder. This allows them to swap positions to confuse their opponents, just as the forward wingers and strikers often do. But this tactic runs the risk of the players confusing themselves more than they confuse their opponents.

Manager: Jack Blethyn, 30 y/o

Supporters and critics alike have taken to calling Jack Blethyn 'The Kid'. The traditionalist types aren't keen on his overly academic, businessman-style approach to coaching, especially since he was never a professional footballer. But even they can't complain when the Doves are playing exciting, if occasionally messy, attacking football. The honeymoon period is starting to come to an end for him. The stress and anxiety that comes with managing a national team is really starting to set in for him. He's gone with two changes from the qualifying squad, injecting some youth in the form of U18 alumni Ryan Lawson and Oscar Gray to replace the injured Pigeon Abbott and out of form Dafydd Edwards.

Roster:
(Starters underlined)

1. Daniel Benjamin, 20 y/o
99. Rhiannon Cox, 34 y/o
32. James Orwell, 30 y/o

Defenders
2. Iawn Owen, 29 y/o

5. James Roberts, 32 y/o
40. Greg Stevens, 34 y/o
55. Ahmed al-Saqqaf, 26 y/o
50. Victor Murphy, 28 y/o
97. Mary Davies, 26 y/o

Midfielders
6. Rhodri Fallows, 30 y/o
7. Michael Williams, 29 y/o
98. Sara Maxwell, 27 y/o
77. Seven Price, 25 y/o
18. Pádraig Murphy, 21 y/o
12. Ryan Lawson, 17 y/o

Forwards
9. Siôr Castell, 21 y/o
22. Colin Emrys, 21 y/o
11. Llewelyn Rose, 27 y/o
8. Max Tarbutt, 27 y/o
10. Robert Machen, 34 y/o
14. Arwel Wynn, 31 y/o
24. Alistair Griffiths, 20 y/o
46. Oscar Gray, 19 y/o
42. Mark Morgan, 30 y/o

Players to look out for:

Llewelyn Rose serves as a the team's captain and star striker. Good at scoring goals, good at telling his teammates what to do and good looking to boot. He's in his prime, he's the top guy. For now. Expect him to score goals, expect to hear him yelling instructions to his teammates and expect him to sell cheap cologne with his name on it.

Rhodri Fallows is the team's vice-captain and serves as part of a flexible midfield pairing with Michael Williams. He's key to both the team's defence and attack, although he doesn't look it to the casual observer. If he's shut down or bested by a better midfielder, then the rest of the team will suffer dearly. Casual fans think he's rubbish and the geeks will tell you he's the team's unsung hero.

Isetyn Piwter is a proper no-nonsense centre-back. He's starting to become a more intelligent player, but his lack of pace means he can be caught out of position on the counter-attack. The King of the not-so-tactical foul, Piwter is the most likely player in the Warkus squad to get carded.

Style of Play
Style Modifier: -1.22
Description: Unlike his stint as Hispinas manager, Alfonzo Medrano did not advise SFI's national football teams to play an attacking mindset, instead, he prescribed a balanced style of play in a 4-2-1-3 formation that would easily transition to defensive or attacking set plays on the fly. Frain took this advice to mind, hence the current identity of the national team. Frain also prefers a rigid style of play prioritizing defense over offense.

Official Kits
Libertad Sportswear supplies all national teams' kits with a 15-year contract since World Cup 97 qualifying. UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT
NORTH POLISH UNION WORLD CUP 100 ROSTER

Following a disappointing qualifying-group performance that saw the Union be one of the lowest-scoring teams in the entire tournament, the National Team made the decision to move on from inaugural manager Udo Kluckhohn, whose teams were known primarily for their offensive ineptitude and whose management was plagued by allegations of favoritism with respect to who his tactics flowed through. Kluckhohn was also (in)famous for his poor media skills and enigmatic answers when questioned on his decisions by the press.

He is replaced by Hasso Hassel. In the cutthroat world of international football management, it helps to have a memorable name, and Hassel certainly fits the bill. He's made a name for himself being an extremely aggressive counter-attacker, who will have his teams play well back and try to force turnovers, whereupon they will streak down the sides of the pitch looking for gaps in the opposing defense. Hassel claims that with the sound defensive structure displayed by Kluckhohn's teams he should be able to apply the same defensive tactics while reworking the offense into something resembling a competitive side.

With limited time to come into the role, Hassel has kept parts of the roster unchanged, especially on the back end. However, while the embattled Kluckhohn completely rebuilt the forward group for WC100 in a desperate attempt to save his job, the changes he made proved largely ineffective, and Hassel has swapped out a number of players and returned a few from the WC99 squad. Hassel also made the decision to move on from aging goalkeeper Hieronim Kalinowski, replacing him with rising star Bernd Grunewald. At the tender age of 20, Grunewald is the youngest player on the squad, although if he ends up in over his head backup Tytus Grala may appear in a few games.

F.B.F. HEADQUARTERS, KYNETBO

Josep Lacorta sat quietly at his office in the outskirts of Kynetbo. The introduction of the Black Star to the world for the World Cup, even though they didn't manage to qualify, was deemed a great success, as the team fought and harnessed great results, from a BoF Quarter-final finish, to a 3rd place in their qualifying group, only behind the giants of Nova Calania and Zenic, the latter of whom was actually beaten by the Bonusian National Team in Tarraconova by 1-0, a game that bolstered patriotism and support for the team greatly. Now, the World Cup was taking place without them, but Josep was already thinking of the next one. If they kept in the same trend, they were most certainly going to qualify. Be it in 101 or in 102, but at some point he knew they would. Momentum was on their favour, certainly.

For now, though, the leagues resumed in Bonusia, and the extraordinary unity that was seen during the matches of the Space Labubus was yet again replaced by the usual quarrels between Kynetboans and Keklans, Opiaces and Unomians, Mingans and Somorrostans alike. As everything went back to normal, he saw that it was his time to rest, for now, and thus he decided to open himself a good moscatell, to celebrate the successes that already came and the successes that were to come.

Suddenly, his nephew Marçal barged into his office, with sadly-usual fool face. He didn't understand how he and such a mouthbreather could possibly be related, but he was family and he wasn't able to land another job, so after his brother begged him he took him as his "helped". He just had wandering around asking him to do things. However, he was now in a happy mood, so he invited him in.

(Josep):- Hey, kiddo! Leave what you're doing and share a drink with your good uncle!
(Marçal):- Uncle Pep, I would like later, but I was going to tell something to you. Uuuh, oh yeah, do we have like, the squad ready?
(Josep):- What squad, kid?
(Marçal):- The squad, the national squad.
(Josep):- What do you mean? Marçal, we got eliminated already of the World Cup, there's no need for a squad. Don't stress it.
(Marçal):- Nono, for the Cup of Harmony, I mean.
(Josep):- The what?
(Marçal):- The Cup of Harmony, you know, like that letter said.
(Josep):- I'm not following you boy.
(Marçal):- Look, I saw it yesterday, it's this: "Greetings! Although your football team failed to qualify for World Cup 100, the federations of Zua-... Zuazug? and the Busoga Islands would like to invite you to the Cup of Harmony, an invitational tournament for active World Cup qualifying participants."
(Josep):- Well, reject it. All the players are playing with the clubs now, we cannot call them up.
(Marçal):- Uuuh, and what if I like... accepted it already?
(Josep):- ...you accepted it. YOU FUCKING ACCEPTED IT DIDN'T YOU?
(Marçal):- Y-yes, but I thought that-
(Josep):- DIDN'T YOU THINK OF ASKING ME FIRST, BEFORE ANSEWERING THE GODDAMN MAIL?! DO YOU THINK YOU CAN DO WHATEVER YOU WANT DON'T YOU. DO YOU KNOW WHAT THIS MEANS?
(Marçal):- W-wha-
(Josep):- NO PLAYERS FROM THE FIRST DIVISION, NO PLAYERS FROM THE SECOND DIVISION, NO PLAYERS FROM THE THIRD DIVISION... THERE'S NO SINGLE PLAYER IN THIS COUNTRY WE CAN FUCKING CALL FOR THE TEAM, MARÇAL, THAT'S WHAT HAPPENS! LORD, HOW CAN YOU BE SO USELESS AND INCOMPETENT?!
(Marçal):- But I just *sniff* I just *sniff* wanted to-
(Josep):- SAVE IT! Go clean the bathroom, that's the only thing I can trust you with, apparently! Go go go!

Josep tried to breath slowly. Inhale, exhale, inhale exhale... Damn it! He tried but he was so mad at the whole situation. How could he be so dumb amazed him. Maybe he should talk to his brother and fire him, because this stuff was goddamn constant!... But what's done is done. The Federation would need somehow to gather a squad for this "Cup of Harmony", and quick.

Image

1. GK- Antònio Bòbila
Nickname: "L'avi" (The grandpa)
Age, gender & species: 71M, Earthling
From: Alt Crossà
Occupation: Retiree
Description: The old Crossan has been quite some time now dedicating himself to feed the ducks and to play domino with his friends all morning long, but be no one fooled by his age! His great ability with the crane, acquired through his long experience in the ball de bastons will certainly help him +deviate any shot by the foreign youngsters who just "don't respect their seniors anymore"!

2. LB- Josep Pèris
Nickname: "El cunyat" (the brother-in-law)
Age, gender & species: 39M, Llimanian
From: Estats
Occupation: Janitor
Description: A very laid-back guy, beer and barbecue lover. He's in charge of a half-abandoned office building in an old miner town, also half abandoned by itself. The lack of work doesn't bother our good Josep, as it allows him to spend time doing his favourite hobby (other than saying unc jokes a tad sexist): Doing nothing! Why was he selected? Simple: Give a hard task to a lazy man, and he'll find a way to make it easy!

3. CB- Gerard Peral
Nickname: "Pilós" (Hairy)
Age, gender & species: 33M, Earthling
From: Ausona
Occupation: Mechanic
Description: Gerard Peral is one hell of a mechanic, as one could tell by the smell of grease and car oil he emits constantly. However, one could put into doubt his ability for football. Far from reality! His years working in a crowded garage have helped him to have a great sense of spacing and positioning, surprisingly. Also, his kid plays on the weekends, so he knows the drill more or less. He's the no-bullshit type, and that goes for the teammates too!

4. CB- Hèctor Filip
Nickname: "Malparit" (Bastard)
Age, gender & species: 28M, Earthling
From: Plana d'Unó
Occupation: Club doorman
Description: Hèctor, as big and strong as he is, might seem scary from the outside. When you get to know him, however; you realize that you were right to be scared, as this guy is a borderline psycopath who weights twice as much as the average bodybuilder. He tried to become a policeman right when he graduated high school, but he failed the psychotechnical test thrice and thus he now works as a doorman for a quite popular Unomian club. His philosophy regarding football is simple: "The ball can run, but the player not"

5. RB- Marta Cabrera
Nickname: "Perrofla" (hippie, but in a kinda despective way)
Age, gender & species: 22F, Llimanian
From: Detrívora
Occupation: Surf instructor
Description: Marta is a textbook example of the "Love and peace" lifestyle of good Somorrosta, the kind that would have a rastafari hairstyle if Llimanians had hair. She has always been a great sports enthusiast (although not so much an enthusiast of showering after), and she managed to work doing what she loves, surfing! She only tried football as a child, but her great reflexes should suffice for the beautiful game. She doesn't like to kick the ball, though, as she believes "everything has a soul", even inanimate objects.

6. LM (C)- Manel Ballesteros
Nickname: "Capi" (captain)
Age, gender & species: 37M, Earthling
From: Ralí
Occupation: Barista & Bar owner *1 *2 *3
Description: Coming from a small town in Ralí, this is a man of guild. Having been raised in a family of baristas, he picked the familiy office and worked since he was a kid. After being transfered the reigns of the familiar Bar Manel, the popularity of it bolstered thanks to Manel's open character and closeness. Chosen as captain thanks to his management skill, likeable person and because he's the only one that actually played football a little seriously, as he was about to debut with Pica CF in his youth.

7. CM- Rafela Pamela
Nickname: "Coliflor" (cauliflower)
Age, gender & species: 43F, Earthling
From: Boletai
Occupation: Yoga instructor
Description: Divorced mom of two, Rafela hasn't always had an easy life at all. She married young and had her kids young, after what she proceeded to becoma little more than a suburban stay-at-home mom. After divorcing her husband, however, she found her light in a spiritual retire place next to the Al·lol·la lake, where she found her passion for yoga. Her flexibility will help her get to the farthest of split balls and rebounds.

8. CM- Martina Pérez
Nickname: "DJ Makarrons" (DJ Makaroni)
Age, gender & species: 19F, Earthling
From: Laietània
Occupation: Màkina DJ
Description: The youngster "DJ Makarrons" is absolutely kicking it in the music industry. From getting gigs in small events in Rocafonda to barely not being called up for the next TarracoFest, her ascension while only being 19 years old is astonishing. Why she has been called up remains a mystery, since her footballing experience is unknown at best, and why she accepted the calling up is an even greater one. But if she managed to excel in one field, mayhaps she can excel in another.

9. RM- Jaume Ramon
Nickname: "El camell" (the drug dealer)
Age, gender & species: 31M, Llimanian
From: Pungapu
Occupation: Rubdisk crafter and independent distributor
Description: Back in sunny Wèep, Jaume Ramon is considered the Southern King of rubdisks. He got into the craft as a little kid, learning from some rubdisks junkies who made them as they had no money to buy, but with time he perfected his technique and now he's able to master the rubdisk craftsmanship, managing to give different effects to the rubdisks through his patterns. He's been selected because he was free and he's the uncle of Associació Pèdica and Bonusia National Team player Jofre Ramon.

10. ST- Alba Perona
Nickname: "Segadora" (the reaper)
Age, gender & species: 36F, Llimanian
From: Terragrossa
Occupation: Farmer
Description: Alba Perona certainly doesn't have the most exciting life story of the called-up players. She was born and raised a farmer, and she now took the main role in taking care of the wheat fields and corn fields. She got the invitation to play inside a cereal box, since the F.B.F didn't really know who to call. Her workrate is astonishing, however, given that she's used to 12-hour workdays under the scorching sun of inner Bonusia. It's yet to be seen how she'll manage seeing 1 other person per week to having to deal with tens of strangers at a time.

11. ST- "El Rulas" (real name unknown)
Nickname: "El Rulas" (random nickname)
Age, gender & species: 2XM, Earthling
From: Àrea Metropolitana de Kynetbo
Occupation: Convict
Description: Being on and off prison and consistently chased down by the police since he was a child thief stealing wallets in the avenue, "El Rulas" is, in a way, a symbol of everything that's wrong with Kynetbo and Bonusia. Luckily this team and this tournament won't be publicly recognized, so the chance of removing consciousnesses is minimal. His inner rage built up will be finally be able to be healthily released into a bunch of foreign defenders. He's fast, sly and he bites before barking, so he would be an absolute terror of a player if he actually knew how to play football. If this pseudo-team manages to win the CoH, the F.B.F. has promised to get him free once and for all, with no records.

12. JK- Candela Paniagua
Nickname: "La Navalla Suïssa" (the Swiss Knife)
Age, gender & species: 29F, Earthling
From: Lacètia
Occupation: Event planner
Description: Candela is to this team the everything woman. Goalie, defender, midfielder or attacker, she can do it all. She feels like she's very adaptative, came with the job. She will start screaming if she feels that things aren't done correctly, so even when she doesn't play she'll do a very good pseudo-coaching job, something that will most likely be needed given who the actual coach is.

MANAGER: Marçal Lacorta
Nickname: "Figamolla" (Wimp)
Age, gender & species: 23M, Earthling
From: Àrea Metropolitana de Kynetbo
Occupation: Nepobaby
Description: Marçal is, to say it kindly, a good for nothing kid. Having been born into a well-off family, he hasn't been able to develop any character whatsoever, and now he spends his days shopping and trying to pick up economics students. Other than that, he's basically dead weight to his uncle, the president of the F.B.F., so in the CoH he has found the perfect opportunity to get rid of him for a while.

For IRL reasons I might not be able to RP much for a good chunk of the tournament, so doing this roster as an IC way to explain the bad results LOL

About Seeberg

The Gemeinschaft of Seeberg is a small and landlocked country located high up in the misty mountains. It is a unitary state governed by the Landsrat. The political structure is semi-parliamentary in nature, but weak democratic traditions and love of consistency has ensured continued governance by the establishmentarian and slightly reactionary Verein für den anhaltenden Ruhm der Bergvölker (VfdaRdB) for as long as most people can remember.

The capital is Brinterberg. A sprawling «urban village», situated at the foot and on the slopes of the Horkenheim mountains, where over two thirds of the population reside. An old and arguably quaint city, it is made up of Jugend housing, Baroque palaces and Gothic places of worship. Tyrolean styled houses in various sizes (block, two or three storey) dominate the north and eastern parts that are predominantly situated on the hills and up the mountains. The smaller towns of Kügeldorf, Bernsdorf, Hinterdorf and Rothaus are to be found in neighboring valleys.

Main Gemeinschaft exports are violins and critical theory, the latter supplied by the renowned Brinterberg Institute for Sozial Research. The Gemeinshaft is a deeply conservative society, characterized by Cremeschnitte cakes, large mustaches and repressed sexuality. Some of the Brinterberg School’s most prominent theorists claim that this is likely the only form of society where a truly critical theory could ever emerge, although this is generally regarded as poppycock. National pastimes and preferred sports are Graeco-Roman wrestling, various equestrian disciplines and archery.
