Keep An Eye On:
Sabmar LANKIV
Lankiv is easily one of the greatest Edsmon keepers of all time. During the FDVL, Sabmar Lankiv helped secure many victories that ultimately led to Emprijaal getting another title. Because of his great work not only in the FDVL but also in the IAC, Lankiv has been granted a starting position every two games. Alongside der-Stoiuben, they will share net time throughout the qualifiers. There, he will be displaying his skills, home and away.

✶Stadium and National Information✶

National Information
The Karmic Republic of Edsmontik is located on the very Northeastern tip of Karma, bordering the East Karman Ocean.
It is home to approximately 198 million people, which mostly live in the densely populated cities of Touve, Woodhill, Yaneu, and more.
The Edsmon population is diverse, full of people from every corner of Karma and other regions around the multiverse.
People commonly come to the nation to witness the ice-cold winters in Skejiver and Northeviige-Tretovikenhanz, the beautiful beaches of the coastal cities, and the massive sports events that range from stock car racing to football/soccer and handball.

Being so far north, the summers are mild temperatures, barely going past 60 degrees Fahrenheit in the warmest areas.
Winters can be freezing, especially up in Skejiver and N.T., with temperatures dropping as low as -7 degrees Fahrenheit.
Sports have had a long history in the nation, beginning as far back as the early 1700s when Vdes, Lunsfjall, and Taya-Trosi were planning to unify.
Sports boomed during this time, with people looking for ways to entertain themselves.
And eventually, when Edsmontik was formed, the nations combined their sports into leagues and competitions.

Map of Edsmontik: How to Get There
Getting to Edsmontik is pretty easy. There are many airlines that offer flights to Kalse, Woodhill, Touve, and other major cities. Below is a map of Edsmontik, which you may use to view major Edsmon cities. Additionally, view the Touvic Rail Systemfor transit across Touve and Austranviige.

The Touve Suberarenae Stadium
Image
Image created using ChatGPT*
Located in southeastern Touve in Austrankank, the Touve Suberarenae is the World Cup's Edsmon stadium.
Looking at its former shell just three years prior, what it fits now is simply not able to be compared to.
Edsmontik has done a lot; and they'll be showing it through their new and first 100,000 seats stadium.
Following the Suberarenae will soon be every other major stadium- to possibly house 75000-90000 fans each.
The new Suberarenae is built partially into the ground and was Touve Tajhav's home stadium starting the 2031 season.
It is estimated that 100,870 people will be able to sit in this stadium, which is a pretty big number of people.

Image
Amahne - Stade sur la Baie (70000) - home to ImageAminey CS (and the Aminey Caspians, Aminey Buffaloes, and Aminey Owls).
The flagship stadium, huge production values, the works. Azure-coloured seating under canvas roofing. A beautiful circular stadium built in foreign Classical traditions.

Shemurdar - Orange Bowl (54000) - home to ImageSchemerdrecht SVV (and the Schemerdrecht Admirals).
More associated perhaps with the Admirals than the SVV, but it's nearly always sold out venue for great crowds in any sport. A robust, somewhat boring square monster with little attention paid to its external looks.

Maethoru - Rikalathen Arena (39000) - home to ImageMaethoru SC (and Mayara Wanderers-Vulpecula).
Close to the KFA's training grounds, at least it has that going for it. Crowds are a little quieter here than elsewhere. A pristine pitch with seating in a few shades of green matching the field, all seating covered.

Ethuweri - Stade Amandine (30000) - home to ImageTanques AOE (and the Etouille Vultures).
Some amazing drone shots over a stadium, a city, and a crowd that knows what makes life fun. Extremely sponsor-friendly with its skybox layout, at the cost of the view of some nosebleeds.

Thelesra - Estádio Fortaleza (29000) - home to ImageMiradela GD (and the Santa Teresa Sabres).
Made to be exactly 1000 seats larger than their rivals' stadium, the Fortaleza is the upper-class stadium. They tried to make it look old and well-used with a specific standing-only section, but even there the privilege is palpable.
OR
Thelesra - Estádio Marítimo (26000) - home to ImageBranvon CD.
The working class stadium that is, in all facets, a bit inferior to the Fortaleza. Except the crowds. There's no better stadium for wild crowds. Plenty of standing-only areas, no cover, barely making it through inspections.

Monrama - Armskirk Municipal Ground (26000) - home to ImageMaynard AFC.
The unlucky Maynard team have asked the KFA to have their stadium used by the national team - as the only southwestern stadium. The Armskirk isn't a bad stadium by all means, but some of the creative decisions in seating arrangements haven't paid off.

Katahshi - Suzumebachi Stadium (32700) - home to ImageKatashi-Kanatsu.
The biggest stadium in the east, Katahshi deserves a game. The fans will mostly just cheer for eastern players, though. It's a wonderfully modern and digital stadium - the first with screens going all around the place.

Garihnkatar - Golhampton Grounds (31000) - home to ImageSydberg Olympia.
Garihnkatar never had a big football culture, but that's changed, and the local Olympia have kept pace with the hype. Biggest city in the country, too. It feels like a much bigger stadium than it is, with plenty of options for later enlargement.

Ehbanna - Northern Arena (32000) - home to university team 'Aevanna Ecologiske Universitet'.
The KFA wants some games geographically spread across the country, and so the cold, dark, and cold gridiron Northern Arena is on the list. The largely roofed stadium is partially dug in to prevent the Arena from dominating the skyline.

Alahrenna - Spider Stadium (27100) - home to ImageAdvance Alara.
Eastern but not on the island Katahshi's on. Fans are used to seeing a lot of goals - which the Dragonflies don't do. The stadium has a lot of staggered mini-sections, make of that what you will.

Seterdahn - Hazel Arena (25400) - home to ImageStraudum VV.
Biggest stadium in the northeast, as far as the mainland goes. Straudum's style matches the NT's style perfectly. Propped up by the massive (rich) IT sector. It's still sold out more often than not as one of the better stadium experiences out there.

Gilibehri - Uriagali Field (19500) - home to ImageWSR AFC and Pride of Eaglebury.
Biggest/only stadium on the west coast. Gilibehri has an amazing, flourishing sports culture and it's no longer completely ignored by the other 99% of the country. The stadium boasts an impressive view of the mountains.

GK Bavol Starling (23) - ImageSterrenwolde FC
GK Ludlow Hawkfeather (25) - ImageMaynard AFC

Larut: "Starling? A massive pull by Linderood. He's not really been on our radar previously - given he's playing for Sterrenwolde - but now that the Top League is going to be 36 teams, we have a lot more players to consider. And if we're comparing him, honestly, to his peers, he's actually damn good. As in, we've chosen Naaldemaker long term and we're sticking by that, and we're not expecting any changes to that. We believe there's still a gap between where Goswijn operates at and where other Ko-orenites' ceilings are."

Egenak: "Sometimes the hardest choices are the easiest ones. For defence, we don't need to consider a whole lot of left field choices, really. Just keep it simple, pick the guys that have been performing for their clubs, and in World Cup 99 and CAFA 12, don't introduce too much flux in a time where it's just not necessary. Nieuwboom might be a bit of a surprise to some, Zulambee is the better known name, but we can use either. In the centre it's centreback by committee with Todaka, Mellowby, yGorllaeneal easily the best papers, Loper and Aedil the known commodities as backups, Zhomodhen, Sokeden, and Nahiden there if need be, but the plan is that the three of them first get used to the tempo and the tactics of the national team so we can slot them in in a few years without trouble. On the left side it's Senothonnau, no further info needed. Oh, and we've trended a bit younger with these selections: a few of the biggest names are either retired recently or about to retire - and there's little in the 30 to 33 age bracket that we feel is an obvious improvement over what we've got here. This generation's in its physical peak and they're running the show!"

AM Annemijn Urwegun (18) - ImageSterrenwolde FC

Zezonmerul: "We've talked this over with the entire group several times. Walked back a few names, selected others, went back and erased the same few names over and over. So we're envisioning this four-man midfield, that typically is controlling and possessive with defensive midfielders and really good distributors and we really wanted to make that work once more - we can definitely do that with Andrade/Meigun and Nakasarudhen/Entatingun as we've done in the past - but we just can't overlook the talent that we have out wide. Laza is a name that opposing coaches have circled weeks ahead of games, he's so hard to defend against even if he doesn't fit into our plans that much. But then we looked at what's waiting in the wings. Sauzharegaunden, my god - the quick and dangerous, but also frivolous, winger opposite Laza that we never had. We can finally do a symmetric look to make our right as dangerous as our left - before it was too easy to guess that we'd go through Laza's side. And Urwegun... anyone who's followed Sterrenwolde's preparation for next season has seen how unbelievable she is. So we have four spots to fill and about 5-6 names we'd like to put there, but depending on the names on the team list it's going to force our tactics quite a bit. Andrade and Meigun? That'll be a defensive standoff. Nakasarudhen and Entatingun? It's very clear we're going for a slow pace and possession. Sauzharegaunden and Laza? We're playing wide and fragile. But Urwegun... she's very easy to pair up with whatever's behind her for now. It's up to the coach to keep the opponents guessing, which'll be a conundrum, but at the same time the midfield is so much more versatile than what we had."

ST Toshitsugu Hiraide (24) - Soldarian FC, VAL

Cy: "Look, I don't know what any of us were expecting. It's 5-4-1 and we're not exactly the country to have strikers laying around. Part of me wants a 5-5-0 or something. But yet - Hiraide is a fantastically efficient striker, so a team that's probably not going to create much more than two or three big chances per game could really use a player like that. So Hiraide it is."

Image
We play post-football, a term coined during World Cup 89 to put words to a horrible semifinal between Audioslavia and the Dragonflies, which ended 0-0 after 120 minutes, then all but one penalty was scored in the ensuing series. Post-football means no singing. No cheering. No scoring. Post-football is sideways passes, looking like the same, repetitive movements for minutes on end, but with tiny variations that at some point will get to you. It could be a counterattack, or a shot from distance, or a set piece. Post-football doesn't care if it takes 90 or 120 minutes, or more. Under Juliasterinthen and Davenport, the Ko-orenites earned a reputation as the perfectly positioned, tactical-yet-mean defensive team. Containing, capitalising, exploiting. Patience and countering.

It's usually a 5-4-1. Depending on the opponent, the wingbacks can push up either to bolster the midfield or even overlap and supply crosses into a finisher - if we have one - but they should be fine to sit back and wreak havoc on whatever flighty winger the other team tries to sacrifice. The midfield is often a bit of a loose unit, almost always with a strong passer in the middle but it could be three DMs and a CM, or even a completely lopsided formation with all four players on one side. The lone striker is a reliable finisher. There have been 5-5-0 sightings, for if our strikers just aren't good enough to supply structure and strength to the rest of the side.

Numbers 1 to = typically start (but not always, feel free to choose your starters). That's 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, X, and =.
Numbers 1-1= are typically selected as starters or subs (but not always, feel free to select some 23+-ers as subs or starters).
Numbers 20 and over are mostly there as emergency replacements, but can be part of the squad for some games. These are almost always younger players with a lot of promise.

Saint-Jean-Jacques-sur-Mer

Saint-Jean-Jacques-sur-Mer is a city state of 78 square kilometers located in Anaia and founded in lhe 18th century by Jean-Jacques Le Boucanier (John James The Buccaneer), a pirate of unknown North or Central Calanian origin who decided to retire from piracy and found his own nation south of his country of origin. Saint-Jean-Jacques-sur-Mer has emerged in the 20th century as a merchant city state which favors capitalism. The current ruler of Saint-Jean-Jacques-sur-Mer is Prince Pierre-Alexandre 1er de Saint-Jean-Jacques-sur-Mer, a direct descendant of Jean-Jacques Le Boucanier. Elections are outlawed in Saint-Jean-Jacques-sur-Mer. The national animal is the tapir, which you can see wandering in our streets.

Burnham-on-Stove

Burnham-on-Stove is a city state of 54 square kilometers located in Anaia. It used to be a district whitin Saint-Jean-Jacques-sur-Mer and it's named after William Robert Burnham, a pirate and friend of Jean-Jacques Le Boucannier. In september 1923, several communist districts of Saint-Jean-Jacques-sur-Mer, mostly of English origin, declared their independence and formed the new nation of Burnham-on-Stove. The Burnhamese Communist Party is the only authorized party in Burnham-on-Stove. The national animal is also the Tapir.

Nova Calania

500: The first documented permanent Aztec settlements in Nova Calania dates from around 500 AD.

1748: Explorers of Polish origins came to the area just south of Krytenia and southwest of Ibixa and founded the town of Ostrow Krolewski on the shores of the Ocean of Ayes. They named the area Odlegla Ziemia (Distant Land).

1760-1820: Odlegla Ziemia expanded southwest and further inland on the east.

1793: Jean-Jacques Le Boucanier established his colony in what is known today as Vieux-Saint-Jean-Jacques (Old St. Jean-Jacques) or Vieille-Ville (Old Town) just northeast of Cardenao. This is the foundation of Saint-Jean-Jacques-sur-Mer. The city state expanded on both side of the Stove river.

1818: Explorers of Asian origin came to the area between Saint-Jean-Jacques-sur-Mer and Odlegla Ziemia and founded the city state of Shanzhou. This stopped Odleglian expansion southwest of their capital.

1851-54: The Aztecs, helped with some mercenaries from Saint-Jean-Jacques-sur-Mer and Burnham-on-Stove, attacked Odlegla Ziemia and took back 1/3 of Odlegla Ziemia's land that was previously stolen from the Aztecs.

1923: Districts of Saint-Jean-Jacques-sur-Mer located north of the Stove river (mostly English speaking) declared their independence and formed a new communist state under the name of Burnham-on-Stove.

2023: Saint-Jean-Jacques-sur-Mer and Burnham-on-Stove united to form a new sporting alliance. Both nations remained independents on all aspects, except they shared a joint national team in all sports.

2025: On may 15th 2025, leaders from Saint-Jean-Jacques-sur-Mer, Burnham-on-stove, Odlegla Ziemia, Shanzhou and the Nova Calanian Aztec Confederacy united together to form the United States of Nova Calania. Unlike Saint-Jean-Jacques et Burnham-on-Stove, it's not just a sporting alliance. It's a policical, economic, military and sporting alliance.

The Meridional Confederation of Saint Lazarus, commonly called Saint Lazarus, is a federal constitutional parliamentary monarchy in the southern Philippine archipelago. It is bordered on the north by the Philippine Republic, on the south by Indonesia, by the east by the Philippine Sea (Pacific Ocean) and on the west by the West Philippine Sea. Saint Lazarus covers 144,550km² and has has an estimated population of 48,000,000. The nation comprises of 12 states, an autonomous state, a sultanate, and a federal capital territory.

Sports have been popular with the Saint Lazarenes to young and old but football is one of the most popular sports in the Islands beside basketball, volleyball, and boxing. It was first brought by the British in mid-1890s when the first wave of European immigration to Visayas and Mindanao happened. It was loved by everyone and even wholeheartedly supported the football team since 1947. And still is the most popular sport in all over Saint Lazarus ever since.

Roster for the Legalese National Team for World Cup 100

Style Modifier: +5 (or the maximum possible, whichever is higher) . Viva Takil.
RP permissions
Appropriately for World Cup 100, I invoke the Golden Rule: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." Should you roleplay about our match first, consider your permissions (as posted in this roster thread) to be my permissions. To that I add the following:
  • If you have Choose Goalscorers set to “N”, then ignore the above and consider all permissions set to “N”. (This does not apply to setting preferred goalscorers, mind you -- for that, pick goalscorers that would be roughly consistent with who you’d pick for your side)
  • I reserve the right to interpret events -- particularly long-reaching effects on any Legalite involved -- differently.
  • Feel free to reach out if you wish to discuss any details; my TG inbox is open.

Legalese is a quiet, medium-sized nation sitting near the geographic center of Anaia. Where many of the nations of the Bekkside are known for something, Legalese is best known for being there, a stable presence in an uncertain world, and existing in the table, usually in the mid-to-lower bits.

Manager: Holly McNulty
McNulty, in her late thirties, continues in charge. The Plains County native saw success in turning around Plainsview Town from an also-ran to an attacking powerhouse domestically, but her results at the helm of the NT haven’t quite been up to that measure. Approaches most communications in a polite, but blunt manner.

Coach: Murray Moreland
Moreland, in his mid-to-late forties, joined McNulty after a stint as the Assistant Coach for Racing West Tyrellia. The Francis City born, Tyrellia-raised native is known for a stern, disciplined style on the training pitch; that approached served him well to get Racing up the pyramid, but there’s fears it’s not being heard by the NT pool.

No matter the manager, one thing remains true: Legalite football is a goal-focused, attack-first style. Under Holly McNulty, that takes the form of a 3-4-3. Some may prefer to call it a 3-2-2-3, looking at the way it plays on the pitch, but not McNulty. In this formation, the defense plays three across, each serving as central defenders, but will extend across the entire touchline as needed. The midfield consists of two wing backs, along with two central midfielders focused on possession and transition, with the typical complement of three forwards on hand to create chances early and often. The mentalities remain well-known to those who’ve seen the Legalites play: scrappy, hard-working, annoying to have to get by, but not overly difficult to score on once you’ve broken down the best way through. Look for a lot of pace, and for all of the available substitutions to be used.

What to expect from the Keepers
The McNulty system rests on a goaltender who can not only be the playcaller, but also be an active part of the field play. Plainsview Town’s Johnny Ulyatt, who at 5’ 9” (175 cm) is a smaller presence in the net for the typical Legalite, but makes up for it with more pace, a touch more athleticism, and (like his manager) a more reserved style. Barring injury, it’s highly unlikely to see much of either Emma Pett or Rufus Varnum on the pitch, though should it be needed, it’s a toss up as to who McNulty will go with -- both are taller, a little slower, and while talented in their own right, not quite to the manager’s preference.

What to expect from the Defense
A complement of three center backs will make the pitch, with Katrina Oat, Adrian George, and Niamh Murray typically preferred. That said, given their expectations to both start the counterattack and keep the pressure off Ulyatt in goal, the odds are at least one of the three will be substituted out at some point, which has been the case in 58% of matches in the McNulty era.

What to expect from the Wing Backs
One could say that the Wing Backs are the unsung heroes of this formation. Their roles typically require them to be back on defense when the opposition has possession, forming more of a 5-2-3 than a 3-4-3; however for the attack to be at its’ best, the wings are typically the dynamic crossers, putting the ball in play for the trio of forwards. They don’t score often, and aren’t the first to get credit for a (likely rare) shutout, but their play is the most likely difference between a win and a loss. Faron Hill Adams is the regular pick on the right, with Jonathan Kingman first choice on the left. Derrick Yomkins remains the first substitute should either side need a rest. Meanwhile, Gagan Epsom serves as more of a coach than a player at this point, but will be tapped to go in a pinch.

What to expect from the central Midfielders
The central midfield is about control for this side; the right pairing of skills and tactics will determine if the home side are able to keep control of the match. Typically, both midfielders will drift anywhere between the penalty areas, with one true box-to-box midfielder playing alongside a possession-focused ball-winning mid. Thomas Toal and AC Sheehy were the primary picks for CAFA XII, but the signals suggest a three-man rotation this time around, with Joseph Damhan likely to feature in the eleven. That said, McNulty has made at least one midfield substitution in 81% of her international matches in charge, and the trend is likely to hold up.

What to expect from the Forwards
Traditionally, the typical Legalite forward only tracks back into the defensive half when absolutely necessary. This remains true under McNulty’s system, but to a different extent. The main strategy of the three forwards (in order to reach their collective goal, which are, well, goals) is to pile on as many shots on-target as possible, the idea being that continuous chance creation will challenge the keeper to the point that they break down and open the floodgates. To this end, the trio will take on whatever role is needed, to the point that you could see three strikers, two strikers and a false nine, or even two deep-lying forwards if the situation calls for it.

Anyone who has watched this team (to which I ask, Why? Who hurt you?) Has noticed that change comes slowly under this regime. While certainly true, there’s reports this may be where McNulty takes her biggest risk. While the six forwards remain the same as for the CAFA, whispers around the team suggest that the trio of Leo Hill-Tanner, Hisana Hirst, and Lily Tonawanda will start qualifying on the bench. Instead, Kamama (Do doo, do do do) Dunphy, Zak (Attack) McFadden, and Wombles Waterman will feature, with a chance to hold the main job on a regular basis.

Text description of the kits: The primary team kit consists of a black shirt and shorts, with red socks. The shirt contains a double sash of solid red over solid white, stretching diagonally from the left shoulder to the right hip. Over the shirt-wearer's heart (as well as on the right hemline of the shorts) is the Legalese crest. The player's number appears to the right chest area on the shirt, and on the left leg of the shorts, both in white.

The secondary team kit consists of a red shirt and black shorts, with red socks. The shorts description is identical to the primary kit description, save for the number on the shorts being gold in color. The secondary shirt contains a black sash running from the left shoulder to the right hip; the sash is not solid, appearing as if it was splashed onto the shirt. The shirt has white collars and cuffs, and contains the Legalese crest in the same position as the primary kit shirt; the number is in the same position as the primary, but colored gold.

The third kit, designed to honor the region (while firmly asserting a national identity). It consists of a multicolored shirt, along with black shorts and red socks. The shirt is mainly purple and green, with a progressing block-like pattern. Over the pattern is a red sash, containing the splash style seen on the secondary kit. The shirt includes black cuffs, and a black/red color.

The keeper kit is a longsleeve royal blue shirt with white cuffs and collars. The shirt has gold dots across it, shrinking in size moving up from the hem to the collar. a black-and-red sash runs diagonally from the right hip to the left shoulder; the sash consists of a series of thin lines, with the upper half of the lines being red, and the latter half black. The Crest and Numbers on the shirt and shorts are the same as seen on the secondary kit.

The crest contained on the primary, secondary, and keeper kits is a nonagon outlined in gold, with a black field, red sash, and white scales. The third kit contains a simplified crest of white scales only.

Home matches in Legalese will take place at the 83,068 seat National Stadium in Central Junction. This is an old classic of a stadium, a reminder that good bones and a fresh coat of paint are all you need to keep a place around forever. In some form, this has been the traditional home (if not only stadium used) of the national team for as long as anyone in Legalese can remember. It has hosted the finals of a Cup of Harmony, a Baptism of Fire, a CAFA, an AOCAF, as well as World Cup 68. Fitting that the biggest matches held here have not involved its’ primary tenants. The three tiers of seats -- as well as a bank of 20 private boxes, mostly offered out on lottery to a lucky fan before each match -- are known to rattle and sway, but have not fallen in the century or more that this pitch as stood. Based on the most recent inspections, they’ll likely stay up for another cycle -- not that the home side gives the crowd much of a reason to make the stands rattle.

Travel to Legalese, should one be not from an immediately neighboring nation, will most likely be a two-part affair. First, one will land at Port Hound International Port, located on a tiny island with the beach community of Surf City. From there, travelers will board the Main Line, a train service connecting Port Hound to the major cities of the nation, starting with the Karin Islands’ regional seat of Tyrellia, followed by crossing the Legal Pass via the Bridge Tunnel System, before continuing on to your destination in Central Junction. One could continue on to Basswoods and see the famed Lake Bekk, but if you’re here for the match, you should probably disembark at CJ Station. Between considerable light rail and bus coverage (in addition to your feet), one should be good to get around from there. If you happen to come in by way of land crossings with Starblaydia (to which I must ask again, Why? Who hurt you?) or Bostopia (to which you should blink twice if under duress), be sure to leave your internal combustion engined personal vehicles at home, for they will not be allowed beyond a secured parking lot at the border crossing. Should this be where you need to park, there will be numerous bus and rail options available to complete your journey.
Host/Co-Host of many World Cup-associated things, mostly long ago. A couple of small wins as well, which is nice.

Manager: Bishen Varadarajan. Formerly of Namiri Independent, who are the newest contender among the "best clubs not named Ephesian." While this aproach is likely to promote better team cohesion (and obedience to the laws of the game) than the alternative, it is unclear whether it is actually a recipe for success. Varadarajan seems to be vaguely envious of baseball's advanced statistics, and tries to rip off advanced sizbermetric projections for football purposes, to mixed results.

Zwangzug officially have no nickname, but are increasingly likely to respond to "Zebras" from other teams' fans (this is the official name of their baseball national team).

If RPing first, please feel free to name goalscorers, injure, and distribute cards to my players at will! You can also godmod events, though I'd appreciate advance warning if you want to take narrative liberties that I couldn't just as easily do to your team (due to being, e.g., a mostly-MT, mostly-human country). Put another way, metaphorical "godmodding" is welcome if clever, but I'd avoid the literal sense. Also, do not cause lasting harm in my country and/or to my citizens without contacting me first.

TRIGRAMME: AHR

So similar and yet so different at the same time.

After the catastrophic destruction of The First Republic, Athearans were scattered all around the world. Those who survived originally had no place to even go. But now, The Second Republic takes it's place and inherits the name of the first. Atheara is back for the centennial edition of the World Cup, a tournament they started playing back in it's 88th edition. Very few of the old faces remain, whether due to retirement or personal reasons or if they're no longer here with us. Whatever is the case, this new generation of The Blue Guard will carry on the legacy that the old one had built. Regardless of this team's results, they aren't playing for success. For now, they play in remembrance.

* = Timeline kerfuffle has caused players that played outside of Atheara before the disaster to age at a slower rate. These represent the age of the player in the recorded database of the domestic league that they play in.

FORMATION, STADIUM, AND EVERYTHING ELSE

Atheara is to play in a 4 - 3 - 1 - 2 formation, featuring a midfield consisting of a left and right midfielder along with a central and attacking midfielder supporting two forwards. Although Mugel Krygorf, who once captained The Blue Guard back in it's heyday was under the old management, the former goalkeeper has had a different approach when it came to tactical decisions. As a player turned manager, he's someone who now has to lead from the sidelines instead of being on the field as he used to. And thus, he has a far more open view in regards to the game and is far more cooperative with his coworkers and those who are playing for him. Whether this venture is successful or not is up to thought.

The Blue Guard will play it's home matches in Azura Memorial Stadium, located within what is known as "The Floating City" of Orphinia, the capital of The Second Republic. It is named after Rally Point Azura, a rally point for the survivors of the disaster than had destroyed the First Republic. And just like with the First Republic, transportation is extremely accessible and it is easy to get to the stadium for locals and foreigners alike. Built to host more than just football matches (As it is a multipurpose stadium capable of hosting other sports that partake on grass), Azura Memorial has a stadium capacity of 52.600 people. Not as large as the stadims that Atheara had been previously known for, but the facilities located within the stadium are just as advanced, if not even more so compared to the old stadiums.

The Blue Guard will wear the uniforms that were once prepared for them back in the day.

The Ministry of Morale is proud to announce the return of the NMS Paladins to international competition!

Code: Select all
RP PERMISSIONS: I’ve decided to have this team have a maximally chaotic qualification run to provide an IC rationale for why past NSWC performance did not guarantee NSWC future results. My RPs for losses will be a downward spiral of clubhouse backbiting, managerial backstabbing, and acts of an irate God. I strongly encourage victorious opponents to RP on-field meltdowns and miscommunications, cards flying early and often, and everyone involved acting as individuals instead of teammates.

All of which is to say that you should please RP anything that strikes your fancy, should you post first.

For the hosts, our modifier is +1.

THE HISTORY: The New Montreal States (usually abbreviated as NMS) Paladins have contested World Cups on-and-off over the past 360 years, over three periods in three dramatically different eras of the game.

The Paladins first competed in WC10, where they lost every match in the first half of qualifiers before upsetting NSWC legends Bedistan in their home stadium after being publicly trashed by the world #5s. They finished 4th in WC11, before vanishing from existence after qualifying for the WC12 Finals, then briefly returning in WC 14.

The Paladins most successful run began with their return to WC23, followed by a finals appearance in WC25, and were finals regulars after that. The highlight of this was co-hosting CoH 16 and WC28 with their Orthodox brethren in The Archregimancy. NMS’s on-field peak remains a WC31 semi-final win over Krytenia, before getting whooped 3-1 by Squornshelous in the final. The Paladins vanished back into the mist after WC33, and were later elected to the NSWC Hall of Fame for their accomplishments.

Their most recent foray, relatively speaking, began in World Cup 57 with a return to the Finals in WC59. The Paladins won their sole piece of international silverware by offing Wight and Darmen in turn to bring home the 53rd Cup of Harmony. They gloriously co-hosted CoH 54 and WC64 with the legendary Wight, and proved they could also collaborate with nations not orthogonal to the material plane by co-hosting CoH 50 with Vilita. The Paladins made a steady string of group-stage exits and impressive CoH runs until WC69 before exiting, pursued by a bear, and not bothering the international football scene until now.

THE FANBASE: Paladins fans are laid-back by international football standards. They’ve accrued very few rivals over the centuries – even losing WC31 left no hard feelings against Squornshelous as the latter were unarguably the better team on the pitch. Barring a last-minute Bedistani renaissance, there’s those assholes over in Milchama, even if that’s more of a baseball rivalry, and the obligatory antipathy towards Audioslava.

This creates an atmosphere that might be too welcoming for opponents – loud, sure, but too well-behaved to make visitors truly uncomfortable. The only organized song or chant is a pre-kick rendition of “Immigrant Song,” and “peace and trust can win the day despite all of your losing” can be taken either way by the listener.

Plenty of fans and commentators have expounded at length about how This Is A Problem, but this is one of football’s most decentralized fanbases and there’s no clear path to getting everyone on board, let alone making any changes. We’re just happy to be here; undoubtedly better for the fans’ mental health but leaving something to be desired for organizational performance.

THE HOME FIELD: All home matches will be played at the formerly world-famous Paladin Dome, host of the World Cup 28 and 64 finals. It seats 104,270 after recent renovations cleared out 160 years worth of dust.

The Dome roof is supported by air pressure. The surface is natural grass, set up 24 hours prior to matches using new turf from a 390-acre farm outside the city. The Dome is surrounded by an extensive plaza with four portals to the Dreamed Realm built for World Cup 28 and mostly dormant since. The plaza is lined with trees, strung with lights, and bars and cafes serve both ticketed guests and folks coming by to hang out, turning matches into all-day parties. Tailgating is a rich and cherished tradition.

The Ministry of Morale is thrilled to welcome international football back to the Dome after a centuries-long hiatus, and is grateful for the opportunity to play a small part in celebrating World Cup history.

(Placeholder stadium picture link while I sort out a non-Imgur hosting situation: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hubert_H. ... e-crop.jpg )

THE TACTICS: Excluding the World Cup 10-14 Paladins about which very little has been passed down, New Montreal States soccer is the 2-6-2. Most domestic teams play a version of this, with some variations for a more defensive style with only one striker, the incorporation of a sweeper, or more players pushed forward into something closer to a 3-4-3. Manager Noel Poltron will play the hits, at least in the early going.

At its finest, the 2-6-2 allows the Paladins to control the pace of play around the center line, using spacing and high-volume passing to move opposing players out of their positions and open up gaps for the attacking midfielder to drive forward, or for the center and wing midfielders to hit the strikers with long passes. The forwards find ways of getting into space off-ball and quickly find the back of the net, or get ahead of the crowd on counterattacks to seize 1-on-1s against opposing keepers. The DMF and backs funnel any breakways into unfavorable angles, forcing low-percentage shots and leaving opposing forwards watch their shots fly over the crossbar and into the netting.

On bad days, opponents disrupt the spacing and cutting off passing lanes. The front part of the midfield continually finds itself behind opposing attackers, leaving the DMF and backs exposed. The midfield struggles to get established when they clear the ball out of the back third, and leave the forwards stranded on an island. The match highlights are indistinguishable from a bunch of five-year-olds heedlessly crashing on the ball, without the consolation of postgame juice boxes.

OOC NOTE:
Due to a (localised) existential anomaly, Krytenia's squad for this World Cup qualifying is their World Cup 50 squad. They are temporally protected from death and long-term injury; beyond that, I do not plan on RPing matches so go nuts.
All home matches will take place at Isserson Stadium, Emberton, approximately 200 years ago.

Calgasia Football Team
Official roster for the 100th World Cup
Image

General Information

Nation: Calgasia
Trigram: CGS
Nicknames: Der Adler (The eagles), Unsere Mädchen und Jungen(Our Boys and Girls), the Black Eagles
Motto: Vorwärts! (Forward!)
Association: Calgasische Fussball-Bund - CFB
Head Coach: Karel Polásek
Captain: Gloria Renner
Most caps: Jan Novák (33)
Top scorer: Jan Novák (24)
Record (W/D/L): 19-11-17

Do you dream often?. The Hundredth World Cup, ladies and gentlemen. No other sports tournament has been able to gather the amount of attention that this hsitorical event has. And the Adlers will have the chance to be part of it, its third time in the World Cup qualifiers, and having already established themselves as one of the up-and-coming nations in multiverse football. However, the road to qualify to a World Cup is still long and winding, and the group will need to keep working patiently so Calgasia can have its chance to be in the final round of this special tournament. It's a dream to be there, but dream come true from time to time.

Because of this dream, the fans will be ready to gather in stadiums, pubs, squares and friends and family houses to cheer for their beloved team, Unsere Mädchen und Jungen, "Our Boys and Girls". Up until now, nobody in Calgasia would expect the Adlers to qualify to the final stage, but the team is improving tournament after tournament, and while the qualifiers will be long (18 matches!), there is hope that the lads and gals can make it.

And the national team will have a new coach for this challenge: no other than the Prophet, Karel Polásek. Polásek is the man of the moment in Calgasian football, after winning back-to-back titles with eternal underdogs FC Bohunice, and will have the task of continuing the development of the still young national team that last coach, Hugo Sedler was able to perform. Will it be like his current tenure in Bohunice?

Roster

Legend:
Number -- Name -- Age -- Position -- Club
Starters in bold

Goalkeepers
1. Jiri Srubek -- 24 -- GK -- Fussball-Club Bohunice
13. Max Haller -- 25 -- GK -- Welser AC
26. María Kálnoky -- 29 -- GK -- Club Hungária

After many years of faithful service, legend Josef Kaltenbrunner won't be the goalkeeper of the Adlers. His role will be taken by Jiri Srubek, who, after winning two consecutive titles with FC Bohunice, is clearly the best keeper in the country. A more flamboyant style compared to the serious, academic Kaltenbrunner, Srubek is still young but has improved his level, forgetting the sudden mistakes and errors that plagued his game until a year ago.
Young keeper Haller from Welser AC gets his first call to the national team after a solid season with the Enfants Terribles, along with the reliable Kálnoky.

Defenders
2. Antonin Hojer -- 27 -- RB -- Melperk Sport Verein
3. Stefan Andris -- 28 -- CB -- Goldstadt Sport Kreis
4. Martin Kargel -- 25 -- CB -- Phönix Sport Verein
14. Károly Hájos -- 24 -- LB -- Club Hungária
15. Matej Blecha -- 27 -- CB -- Fussball-Club Bohunice

19. Jakob Schulz -- 23 -- CB -- Zillertal SV
20. Nico Dorn -- 27 -- RB -- Fussball-Club Bohunice
24. Mía Wallner -- 26 -- CB -- Club Hungária
25. Milos Nágy -- 29 -- CB -- Club Hungária

The weakest line in the team, they are prone to concede some late goals. The defence is dominated by the young pair Andris and Kargel, with 28 and 25 years respectively, with the addition of a key defender of the last champions, Matej Blecha, who brings centimetres and power to the line. The young centrebacks have an excellent ball control and passing, and their height makes them to be very safe in crosses and set pieces. The left flank in the 3-5-2 formation is for Károly Hajós. The 24 y/o Hungária player is one of the fastest players in the tournament, able to dash through lines and with a very effective left foot for crosses or set pieces, but sometimes struggles with concentration, making him a vulnerable spot for the other teams.

In the bench, Antonin Hojer is a reliable player, being more defence oriented and able to play in both flanks. His tactical sense will be crucial in a team that needs more experience in the multiverse stage. Centrebacks Nágy and Schulz will bring intimidation, strenght and centimetres to the defence, while Mía Wallner will be a jack-of-all-trades, being able to play in several positions.

Midfielders
5. Béla Voss -- 27 -- CM -- Club Hungária
6. Max Bohren -- 27 -- CM -- Phönix Sport Verein
7. Xaver Webern -- 29 -- LW -- Goldstadt Sport Kreis
8. György Biró -- 26 -- CAM -- Club Hungária
11. Brigita Horáčková -- 21 -- RW, CAM -- Fussball-Club Bohunice
12. Emil Sedlácek -- 23 -- CAM, W -- Melperk Sport Verein
16. Pavlina Kostková -- 24 -- CM -- Fussball-Club Bohunice
17. Christine Cieszyn -- 28 -- CM -- Melperk Sport Verein
18. Karel Pesek -- 25 -- CM -- Fussball-Club Bohunice
23. Gábor Szabó -- 30 -- ST, RW -- Club Hungária

The Adlers midfield will be dominated in the centre by Voss, Bohren and Sedlácek. The three players will control the flow of the game while maintaining a great workrate both in defence and offence phases. Do not miss the chance to see Sedlacek; the CAM of Bohemian origin has, with 23 years, one of the brightest futures in multiverse football. His ability to create chances for the teammates and his box-to-box approach to the game will make him a key player.

Szabó is the most veteran player in the squad, and will start from the bench, able to bring creativity and take over the set pieces, corners and free kicks. In the right flank, we will find Webern. His unpredictability when they have the ball possession (sometimes running for a cross, or cutting to the middle and combining with Sedlácek or Novák, or shooting) will make them constant threat for rivals.
In the bench, the coach will find plenty of options to choose. From the defensive-minded CDMs Kostková and Cieszyn, to the more creative and explosive Horáčková and Biró. The roster is completed with Pesek, who has earned a reputation of being a reliable, no-nonsense player over the years playing for Bohunice.

Forwards
9. Jan Novák -- 25 -- ST -- Melperk Sport Verein
10. Gloria Renner -- 28 -- ST -- Goldstadt Sport Kreis
22. Zoey Moser -- 29 -- ST -- Kaiserbad Social Club
21. Alex Gassenbauer -- 31 -- ST -- Fussball-Club Bohunice

Calgasia's chances lies in the shoulders of two players, Jan Novák and Gloria Renner. The former has established himself as one of the best players in the country with only 25 years, combining a fast and strong 1,85cm body with a great sense of the game, being able to combine with teammates and finding open spaces. Captain Renner, considered the best player in the country, will start in the right flank, with a similar role to Webern: disrupting the rivals with his unpredictability. In the bench Zoey Moser and Alex Gassenbauer will await an opportunity, after being two of the best players during the season.

Tactics

Calgasia proposes a positive style, slightly more focused on attack than defence. The formation will be a 3-5-2, the coach has decided to switch to this flexible
formation, where the wingers drop down in defence to form a line of 5 defenders, while in attack they move up the flanks to support attacks, especially after stealing the ball. Key points:
-Wing play: true to national tradition, the Adlers will carry much of the attacking play down the flanks, looking to generate superiority or for the full-back to double the winger to generate space.
-Great physicality: another typical aspect of Calgasia is the prevalence of physical play over individual technique. Expect strong, fast players, able to launch quick counterattacks, and deadly for rivals if given enough space
-Nastier: Calgasians usually are good, quiet people. But not during the 90 minutes a game is on. Expect mean defences, sacrifice, flying elbows, a hard tackle or two and in general a tough style of play and bookings. Here, have a tissue to dry your tears.
-Dangerous set plays: Calgasian football puts a strong emphasis on tactics and strategy. Expect tactical corner kicks where the tall Calgasian players can gain an advantage over rivals.
-Not-so-great creativity: Calgasia can struggle a bit against tight defences, when there are few open spaces. The team thrives with open spaces, so playing against a very defensive-minded team can make them suffer. The team relies heavily on Renner, Szabó or Sedlácek to create goal chances when this situation happens.

Set Plays

Penalty takers: Jan Novák, Gloria Renner, Alex Gassenbauer, Xaver Webern
Right Corner Kick: György Biró, Gábor Szabó, Emil Sedlácek
Left Corner Kick: Emil Sedlácek, György Biró, Gábor Szabó
Free Kick takers: Gábor Szabó, Emil Sedlácek, Gloria Renner

Stadiums

For the WC Qualifiers, the CFB will have available four stadiums for when the Adlers play as local.

Goldstadt - Austro-Daimler Stadion, 41,500. The main stadium of the country, where Goldstadt Sport-Kreis plays as local.

Ocheron - Der Neue Rosengarten, 45,000. The renovated stadium of Phönix SV, a state-of-the-art venue with modern VIP stands and amenities for fans.

Bohunice - Stöckl Arena, 28,000. Where the current champions, FC Bohunice, play. Loud, cheerful fans.

Wels - Moritz-Makart-Stadion, 31,457. Home of the Welser AC, with loud stands. Sometimes, even a bit disrespectful. But what's life without a bit of emotion?

Things you should know about the SRS:

Once upon a time, there was the Imperium of Squornshelous, a militaristic, totalitarian state which took great pride in its football team. Squornshelous entered every World Cup from the 5th edition to the 41st, successfully qualifying all but once, and winning the 31st edition of the tournament. After World Cup 41, however, a civil war erupted which ended with the nation divided in to the democratic Confederacy of Squornshelan Remnant States, and the shrunken but still dangerous Imperium holding onto its island heartland. Both nations disappeared from the international stage for the next 40 World Cup Cycles. The SRS returned to international football for Cycle 81, and was joined by the Imperium during Cycle 84. During Cycle 88, another revolt in the Imperium destabilized the government so much that the nation essentially collapsed, and its constituencies applied for membership in the Confederacy. It was also around this time that Squornshelous/SRS arrived in Atlantian Oceania, having previously competed as an Independent.

Recent International Cycles have been marked, though alas not defined by Squornshelan excellence. Coming from out of nowhere to win World Cup 97 as the 35th-ranked side entering the tournament, the Black-and-Reds opened up a perhaps era-defining rivalry with the Marauders of Valanora. The two sides would meet again and again in high-stakes battles as the Black-and-Reds again took a final on penalties, this time in regional play, then bowed out to the Vanorians in the knockout rounds of World Cup 98. It would be the SRS on top once again at ARC 4, and the Black-and-Reds would ride that success all the way to the final of World Cup 99. With Valanora out in the quarterfinals, it would be different archrival who awaited the SRS. While the SRS had enjoyed a distinct advantage over their oldest enemies during the modern era, the Bulls had historically always found a way to win when it mattered most, and did so again to claim their third World Cup and deny the Black-and-Reds their own.

Thus we come to the present day. With a third-place finish at ARC 5 spelling another mild disappointment for Squornshelous, there is the definite feeling of, if not the end of an era outright (we are after all the top-ranked side entering qualifying, hard to be too down on ourselves) the beginning of a generational shift in the roster. Several members of the championship teams remain, certainly, but they are now the team veterans, several slated now for more supporting roles as younger players look for their own moment in the spotlight. Dudu Madeiros, the constant presence on the touchline through this transition, has also signaled a willingness to call up a number of SRS youth internationals to the senior team during qualifying, pointing out that waiting until the old championship team is truly on its last legs is not the way to bring along new talent and ensure a seamless path forward.

Yangchenia Blazing Dragons
"In the flames of sport, our iron will is forged"

About Yangchenia

Yangchenia, officially the Dragon Empress's Domain of Yangchenia, primarly located on two planets. It is an absolute monarchy and a theocracy, and is Lacia's only necrocracy. Situated in the isolated northeastern continent of Msalka, it is bordered by the Queendom of Gesaria to it's West, the Altanul Nomadic Horde to it's southwest, the Voghulian State of Greatdux to it's east and the Khanate of Kungaria to it's south. Yangchenia is one of the least densely populated on Lacia, with a population at around 34,120,094 million people as of the 2024 census, despite having almost 2 million sqkm of land.

Despite being a small country, Yangchenia leads Lacia in the space race, with the country being one of the most advanced yet also very traditional. [2]The nation dedicated 10% of its annual budget to research, while a whopping 46% of the annual budget is allotted for Spirituality, as the nation is very religious, with the majority of the population adhering to the Yanginist Faith.

According to ancient religion, life in Yangchenia arrived from another dimension. On Earth, Yangchenia occupies around 1,000,000 sq km of land, mostly dominated by rugged mountains and hills, with large valleys and plateaus scattered all across the land. On Lacia it occupies around 2,000,000 sq km of land and is mostly composed of mountainous terrain to the South, with the rest of the country being dominated by snowy tundra. Yangchan, Yangchenia's Lacian Capital, is the northernmost capital on Lacia, while the main capital is situated in the city of Yangchen. However, since 1200AD, both realms have functioned separate from each other.

The Guul-La Dynasty is the current rulers of Yangchenia and have continuously maintained power for over 4000 years. Emerging over 5000 years ago, Yangchenia is one of Lacia's oldest nations, and home to many old civilizations. It's capital is the northernmost capital on Lacia

Football in Yangchenia - the Blazing Dragons

Football as a sport is not that prevalent in Yangchenia, with the nation's most popular sport being different kinds of martial arts, from Kung Fu, Taekwondo, and even native martial arts such as Dailu - a form of martial art that involves rudimentary weapons such as sticks, slippers, and basically anything. However since the rise of globalization, and the popularity of football across Lacia, the sport has gradually begun entering Yangini sporting culture. The nation's first national football tournament was held in the 1960's shortly after the culmination of the Yangchenian Civil War - a time of great chaos in the nation. The Yangchenia Blazing Dragons was founded on 20 April 1969, by Weng Zhidao, as Yangchenia's national football team.

The majority of the Blazing Dragon's roster are former members of the military, and those that have competed in martial arts competitions, the dominant sport in the country - as they are seen as one of the most physical and skilled people in Yangchenia at the sport.

Hu Winwei
(b. 29 November 1972)
Xaidu (Xanadu), Kungarian Xanadu, Yangchenia

Hu Winwei is a former Yangini football player for the Blazing Dragons, joining the team in 1988 at the age of 16. Born in Xanadu as Huq Kugshan to a devout Kungarian family, Hu Winwei was born to the "Tyorghazy" caste of Kungarian society - slightly above the peasantry class but still below the middle caste. Kungarian society was extremely hierarchal. Kungars traditionally build their settlements on tall peaks at high elevation, as they believe that by living at higher elevation, they live closer to God. As a result, their cities are built vertically on high plateaus, with varying elevation. As a result, Kungarian society developed a unique hierarchical system, in which wealthy and noble families lived at higher elevation than poorer peasant people.

Born to the Tyorghazy, Hu Winwei lived in the lower levels of the city of Xanadu, living slightly below the great plateau that was the foundation of the city, however not deep underground where the peasants and prisoners live. Still, being from a lower caste Hu struggled to find opportunities to better his family condition, and at the age of 12 he left home for Raijugang in search of a better life - working as a doorman in Raijugang's many lavish casinos operated by the Radarsavov Clique - descending from the Ya Dynasty that ruled the island as a slave colony.

There, he started playing football as a hobby after tireless work, playing with other children in the streets of Raijugang's outskirt city, Jugangwei. There he slowly honed his skills in the sport, until one day he decided to participate in the tryouts of the Blazing Dragons - Yangchenia's national team, in which he passed, and entered the team with the jersey number 08 - a lucky number in Yangini tradition. For the next thirty years - he would be a player of the Blazing Dragons, representing the country in many sports tournaments in Lacia, until becoming the team's head coach in 2018 following the death of the previous coach, Dao Xuanjing.

Sernet is a large nation famous for its extensive rail network and the nation's skyscrapers and tower blocks. Capital city: Sernetesen. Sernet is a space-capable state and maintains a network of colonies, however it is not your traditional earth-based empire (we are very benevolent). The nation is rich in history and culture (wip) and is extremely patriotic.
Mostly modern tech.

First Backup Captain: Burley Trac
Second Backup Captain: Saúl Mosley

Tactics:
Manager Geraldo Rys and his assistants Mara Tapi and Toms Elwin have decided to implement a slightly aggressive 3-5-2 formation during their tenure as Zenic's national team staff. This formation is intended to maximize the wingbacks' strengths without neutralizing the rest of the team's impact. The young wingbacks' stamina allows them to go forward and cautiously assist in attack to create goal-scoring chances while still being able to get back and provide numbers to stop opposition scoring opportunities. Meanwhile, the Center-backs, Central Midfielders and Forwards create a solid pillar through the heart of the pitch that is intended to both be an alternative route to goal scoring and a multi layered obstruction to the opponents.

Geography of Montagne Noire

Image

Montagne Noire is a mountainous state located in Terramidia north west of Cassadaigua, west of Sicoutimont and south west of Valladares' Westlands. There is unclaimed land between Darmen and Montagne Noire. Montagne Noire was founded in the 19th century by stray dogs from bordering nations who considers our highest peak, Manitonga Soutana, as sacred. However, it's the 2nd highest peak (Montagne Noire) that gave it's name to the nation. These dogs learned French from Sicoutimont, English from Cassadaigua and Darmen and Spanish from Valladares. It was decided the lingua franca would be French due to a larger number of dogs originally from Sicoutimont.

Geographically, you can separate Montagne Noire in two parts. In the north half, we have rolling hills, valleys, two lakes and a large river bordering Sicoutimont and Montagne Noire going into Valladares and ending in a gulf where Adelaide is located. Unfortunately, we don't know the name of this river. The south half is very mountainous and our highest peaks are located there, a little north east from Ferme-Neuve.

The capital city is Lac-Ouareau. Also known as Lake Ouareau. This is the administrative center of Montagne Noire and all governments building are located in Lac-Ouareau. The largest city is Saint-Sauveur, also known as San Salvador. About 38% of Montagne Noire's population resides in Saint-Sauveur. There is also the towns of Brébeuf (named after an explorer from Sicoutimont), Lac-Chevreuils (Deers Lake) and Ferme-Neuve (New Farm).

Manitonga Soutana

Manitonga Soutana is a sacred mountain discovered many centuries ago by Algonquin peoples. It's name means " Mountain of the spirits ". The Algonquin tribes believed the mountain was inhabited by a Grand Manitou who makes the mountain tremble whenever someone was damaging the nature or does not live in accordance with the nature. The mountain is trembling and in French we can call it le mont tremblant.

Transportation in Montagne Noire

Montagne Noire has been isolated until now but the nation is still hardly accessible. We have no airport and we're a landlocked nation. Montagne Noire is only accessible through land and there is no roads from neighbouring nations that actually leads to Montagne Noire.

Inside Montagne Noire, we have no roads either. Us dogs like walking and running! Every towns in Montagne Noire are reachable through a highly developped hiking trail system. We also have a light rail train powered by steam which consists solely of open air seatless wagons which us dogs enjoys! The light train route goes from Saint-Sauveur to Lac-Chevreuils and to Brébeuf and circles Lac Ouareau, it goes to the town of Lac-Ouareau and goes back to Lac-Chevreuils. Then it goes to Saint-Sauveur. The village of Ferme-Neuve is somehow isolated but is easily reachable through hiking trails.

Please note that during winter months (roughly MD1 to MD8), another transportation mode is available: Dog sledding! Please no more than two humans per sled and it takes 6 dogs to pull a sled.

Lodging in Montagne Noire

One word: Camping! No hotels for humans, just camping into the wild. There's many camp grounds in Montagne Noire: Camping du pin rouge, Camping Laurentien, Camping Boréal, Camping Lantier and Camping Manitou.

Eating in Montagne Noire

There is a few dog operated groceries that sells raw meat for dogs who aren't fond on hunting. There is no upscale restaurants. there is actually two restaurants in Saint-Sauveur and one in every other towns who serves raw meat because we preffer to eat raw meat. Our diet consists of Valladar Ducks, Beavers, Deers and Hares. There is a project of opening two restaurants for human visitors, one in Saint-Sauveur and one in Lac-Ouareau which will cook food on the barbecue. This is something new in Montagne Noire and both will open on World Cup 100's matchday 3.

Notes:

The Starting XI, bench and scratches are selected randomly every matchday.

One dog is assigned goalkeeper duties by the manager for a certain time (roughly 15 minutes), then the manager assign another dog (from the starting XI or a sub) to the goalkeeping position for another 15 minutes and players rotates like this. They do not play goalkeeper for the full game.

Players don't have an assigned position, they just like running after the ball.

Players are well trained and are not overly aggressive.

THE HOT DAMN TEAM
Image

Full Nation Name: Hapilopper Overseas Territories: Dominion Anaia Maritime Neighborhood
Trigramme: HAA
Nickname: Officially: The Beer Leaguers
Team Colors: Blue, Green

Info:
For the second consecutive year, HOT-DAMN has made the knockout rounds of the World Cup. And for the second consecutive year, HOT-DAMN was eliminated in the first knockout round. No matter - it's a good starting point for the future. Head coach Ernie Stevenson has started to transform the HOT-DAMN squad from "beer league team that somehow made it" to "perennial contenders," with a hope to transform them further to "World Cup champions." Already, three former Hapiloppian players - that is, players that used to play on the Mainline Hapilopper squad - have defected to HOT-DAMN, lured there by the promise of a Stevenson-led World Cup winner. Rod Cutt, the real moral paragon whose idea of a good time is to take an opposing player into a bathroom and stuff their face into a toilet, is joined by Tim Radomia, who may or may not smoke out all of Anaia on his first night there, and Huntley McCullough, whose high school classmates named him "Most likely to end up on the wrong side of a police standoff."

COACHING STAFF:
DIRECTOR: James Eaton
Image

Jimmy Eaton, the owner of Laughing Pup Bar across the street from Brewery Stadium, decided that it would be difficult for him to keep up with some of the world's top stars, and even more difficult to coach a new breed of rising stars that may not align with his original idea of going out to play, have fun and make new friends along the way. So Jimmy decided he'd step down as head coach and find his replacement. Jimmy, however, still is in charge of the national team as the executive director, a position he holds along with running the bar. In searching for a new head coach, Jimmy found a very surprising replacement.

HEAD COACH: Ernie Stevenson
Image

In a stunning coup, Eaton hired Ernie Stevenson, the former assistant coach of Ellis Football, to serve as the head coach of the HOT-DAMN squad. The hiring of Stevenson marked the first massive salvo in a brewing Hapilopper/HOT-DAMN arms race. During the end of Hapilopper's group stage run in World Cup 98, disagreements were evident between Stevenson and Hapilopper Acting Head Coach Thom Perkins, and following Hapilopper's defeat to Juvencus, a very large, very public argument broke out between the two, where Perkins accused Stevenson of poor tactics, while Stevenson accused Perkins of going away from the method that the late Nathan Ellis had devised to bring the Hapiloppian squad back to prominence. This cycle, Stevenson will rely on the 4-4-2 formation that has worked well for both Hapiloppian and HOT-DAMN squads.

ASSISTANT COACH: Tyler Swanson
GOALKEEPING COACH: Rocky Kemp

STADIUM:
Brewery Stadium | New Hap City, HOT-DAMN | Built: 2030
Capacity: 31,535 | Open-Air | Natural Grass
Image

Built as part of the new HOT-DAMN project in southern Nova Calania, Brewery Stadium was funded, as you'd expect, by both Snap's and Hobbs Brewery, the two top breweries in Hapilopper. The 30,000 seat stadium is the first permanent home for the HOT-DAMN national team. Previously, the team played at Raceway Park in Buckridge in Hapilopper, and before then, in a field near the old Laughing Dog Bar and Grill. This stadium features all the amenities of a major soccer stadium, including luxury boxes for the rich and a large bleacher section behind both goals. A wild group of fans have converged on these sections and promise to make life beautiful for the Beer Leaguers, while making life a living hell for the opposing team.

UNIFORMS:
(Because of the many images, the uniforms will be listed in spoilers)
Image

This is the main kit that the HOT-DAMN squad will wear for most of their World Cup matches. It gives off the colorful and wild spirit of HOT-DAMN, the Anaian territory of Hapilopper. It also features the unofficial slogan of the HOT-DAMN national team, "We All Gonna Say HOT-DAMN!" This kit, like most Hapiloppian and HOT-DAMN kits, are designed by Simpson Sports Manufacturing, a manufacturer of football kits based in Hapilopper City.
Image
Continuing a standard of Hapiloppian kits, the shorts for the HOT-DAMN team carries, on one leg, the name and number of the player, and the team on the other.
Image
The name of HOT-DAMN's players, as is custom, appear on the back loudly and proudly so all the world can see who's scoring the goals, who's putting HOT-DAMN over the top, and who's reminding the other teams who's boss.
Image

Image

One of three throwback jerseys the HOT-DAMN team will wear this year dates back to the days of Ellis Football several years ago. Nathan Ellis, the heart and soul of Hapiloppian football, started a national football team from the ground up. It was Nathan's indomitable spirit that turned Hapilopper into a contender almost overnight, and it is that spirit that Ernie Stevenson is bringing to the HOT-DAMN squad. That spirit has sent HOT-DAMN to heights not seen in a Hapiloppian team.
Image
Continuing a standard of Hapiloppian kits, the shorts for the HOT-DAMN team carries, on one leg, the name and number of the player, and the team on the other.
Image
On the bottom of the Ellis Football throwbacks is a saying. "Win the Whole F**king Thing". This was Nathan Ellis's rallying cry when he started Ellis Football, as he had an eye on eventually making it to, and winning, the World Cup entirely at World Cup 100. This is that year. This is the year, HOT-DAMN says, to win the whole fucking thing.
Image

Image

The second of the three throwback jerseys is a throwback to the Nathan Ellis Memorial kit worn by the Hapiloppian squad a few years ago. The all-black jersey carried the skull and crossbones that Nathan viewed as the perfect image for himself and his violent approach to play. Hapilopper wore this kit in their rivalry game against TJUN-ia several years ago, a match that predictably went about the same way a Hapilopper-TJUN-ia match would go. Violent, ugly, and ridiculous.
Image
Continuing a standard of Hapiloppian kits, the shorts for the HOT-DAMN team carries, on one leg, the name and number of the player, and the team on the other. The Nathan Ellis Memorial kit is all-black, with a black shirt, black shorts, black socks and black shoes.
Image
The bottom of the back of the Ellis Memorial kit has the words "This one's for Nathan." Nathan Ellis wanted Hapilopper to hoist the World Cup trophy by World Cup 100. It was his five-year plan for Hapilopper to be at the top of the sporting world by then, and hopefully HOT-DAMN will be able to say, yes, they made it.
Image

Image

The last of these kits throws back to not too long ago, the direct predecessor to the HOT-DAMN national team. It wasn't all that long ago that this team was merely a beer league team operated by a neighborhood bar in a suburb of Buckridge in Hapilopper. You had everyday people playing soccer on Sunday afternoons, then going to the bar and getting blitzed.
Image
Unlike many of the HOT-DAMN jerseys, these shorts carry no name or number, just the logo of Laughing Dog Bar and Grill in Kensington Town. After all, while Kensington Town could field a soccer team, they weren't going to have the ability to field a top-level soccer team... or were they?
Image
The back of the Laughing Dog jerseys are much simpler than the others. There's no slogan, nothing special on the back of these kits. But these were beer league kits for a beer league team. There wasn't much more needed than that.
Image

PLAYERS:
With the influx of new players arriving to both the Hapiloppian and HOT-DAMN squads, the roster posts have been revamped. There may be a little less detail to go around, but there are more players on both squads to worry about. Not to worry, you'll still learn more about these players as time progresses.

HOT-DAMN PLAYER POOL - WORLD CUP 100 CYCLE
(Likely starters in red, bench players in bold)

GOALKEEPERS

Image

## Player Age Position Team Kicks Personality
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
1 Bob Willard 24 Sweeper W.H.Sports Club Right Relaxed
30 Jim Dash 34 Sweeper Kensington Town Left Patient
60 Marc McBeth 27 Save/Pray Garvinson Trojans Right Asshole
90 John Ritchie 24 Save/Pray Pinkerton City SC Right Clumsy

PLAYERS TO WATCH:
Jim Dash (#30) is your most likely starter. Bob Willard (#1) is the second-stringer. Dash is considered one of the leading reasons HOT-DAMN made it to the knockout rounds of World Cup 98 - against any and all prevailing logic. Attempts at trying other goalkeepers ended in disaster. Dash knows this and has grown something of a big head. Before home matches in New Hap City, Dash has insisted on being introduced as the "Bad Dash" Jim Dash - complete with his own theme song that goes "I'm a Dash man, *bewp bewp*, yes I'm a Dash man..." as he shakes his rear end to the delight of the fans in New Hap City, and to the horror of new manager Ernie Stevenson. Despite this blatant display of disgustingness, Dash has turned out to be a very competent and capable goalkeeper. Ernie figures he can put up with Jimmy Dash shaking his ass prior to every HOT-DAMN game if it means he'll keep opposing teams out of goal.

DEFENSEMEN

## Player Age Position Team Kicks Personality

21 Freddy Joyner 33 Fullback Kensington Town Left Patient
22 Elwood Davis 31 Fullback Kensington Town Right Stupid

23 Bruce Tatum 35 Centerback Kensington Town Left Obnoxious
24 Huey Holman 27 Fullback North Hampton FC Right Patient
25 Red Duggan 21 Centerback Pinkerton City SC Right Brooding
26 Stuart Clark 30 Fullback Halsted Heat Right Professional
27 Tanner Barbon 25 Fullback F.C. Hap City Right Calm
28 Brady Jackson 21 Centerback Minortown S.C. Left Clumsy
29 Kaysen Defang 23 Centerback United Hampton C. Left Antisocial

PLAYERS TO WATCH:
Boy, have things changed here. Huntley McCullough and Rod Cutt have defected to HOT-DAMN, and that means massive changes in the defensemen's room. Elwood Davis has been relegated to a bench role - which was probably going to happen anyway. Elwood, the kind of player that'll wake up at 7 in the morning moaning that he can't believe he drank the whole keg, clashed with Ernie Stevenson during the World Cup 99 cycle. Ernie wanted players that he could trust and players he could get going - and Elwood just wasn't that kind of player. The arrival of the two Hapiloppian delinquents, McCullough and Cutt, meant they're starting right out of the box. Cutt, one of the last players personally recruited by the late Nathan Ellis, has taken the number 05 in honor of the fallen dirtiest player in the multiverse. Gael Hicks, a self-professed Ellis fanatic, has graciously given the 05 to Cutt and will the number 55 instead, the highest number offered to a Hapiloppian field player. With four assholes starting in the defensive side of the field, some have joked this may be the most card-happy defense in many, many years.

Likely starters are Russell (#2), McCullough (#3), Hicks (#55), Cutt (#05).

Likely bench players are Joyner (#21), Davis (#22), Duggan (#25), Jackson (#28).

MIDFIELDERS

## Player Age Position Team Kicks Personality
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
6 Tim Radomia 27 Left Midfield Garvinson Trojans Left Stoner
7 Mark Abbott 19 Right M'field C. Harris' School Right Intense
8 R.J. Grove 22 Def. Midfield Cap City United Right Relaxed

9 Lee Mallinger 20 Off. Midfield Hap City Soldiers Right Superstar
31 Buckshot Belwood 23 Hybrid Midfld Halsted Heat Right Unlucky
32 Anthony Donis 34 Right M'field Kensington Town Right Creative
33 Zack Webster 32 Left Midfield Kensington Town Left Calm
34 Jeff McMurphy 24 Def. Midfield F.C. Buckridge Left Creative
35 Michael Shammes 22 Off. Midfield F.C. Buckridge Right Asshole
36 Hosea Darcy 25 Hybrid Midfld Lake Sprague FC Right Relaxed
37 Henry Fayette 23 Hybrid Midfld Highway Patrol Right Asshole
38 Herb Caldecott 28 Hybrid Midfld Minortown S.C. Right Stupid
39 Kenley Jarrett 23 Hybrid Midfld Washington FC Right Antisocial

PLAYERS TO WATCH:
The third "defect", as some call them, is Tim Radomia. Radomia, who is much more at home burning one while listening to some jam band let out an improvised 45-minute instrumental, has taken over the lead midfielder's slot. Radomia might be the biggest pothead in all of Hapiloppian sport, but he is also possibly the best midfielder in the nation. His physicality can stop an opposing team's goalscoring effort and can kickstart his own team's run to the net. He rarely gets pissed off and he rarely takes out opposing players, so when he does, you better watch out. Joining him in the midfield, surprisingly, is Mark Abbott, considered THE Hapiloppian prospect of the future. At 19 years old and straight out of Cooter Harris's School of Fine Football Learnin', Abbott is not just a threat in the midfield, but a threat to score goals, and goals aplenty. Likely to break away from the pack is Henry Fayette, a 23-year old wizard in the midfield, but someone whose own attitude on and off the pitch may his limiting factor. Simply put: Henry Fayette is a dickhead. He's a dickhead to his teammates, to his friends and to his fans. He thinks he's God's gift to this world, and he might play like it, but such behavior won't last in Ernie Stevenson's team. Also likely to break away from the pack is Buckshot Belwood, a 23-year old hybrid midfielder likely to start games for HOT-DAMN. Buckshot is a magnificent ballplayer, and magnificent in the midfield. He's got the kind of attitude that Ernie Stevenson craves in his ballplayers. Only one problem: Buckshot gets into collisions. A lot. And Buckshot gets hurt. A lot. Supposedly has a blood feud with someone named Randy but that remains to be seen.

Likely starters are Radomia (#6), Abbott (#7), Grove (#8), Belwood (#31).

Likely bench players are Mallinger (#9), Donis (#32), Fayette (#37).

PLAYERS TO WATCH:
This is a totally revamped squad from the old beer league squad. Leading the way is Cale Mallett, whose artistic style of goalscoring resembles that of a younger Ernie Stevenson from his day. Mallett knows it, too. Mallett feels he is good enough to play in some of the international club leagues around the multiverse - which sounds great on paper, but may be difficult to pull off due to Hapilopper's recently insulated attitude towards international players and clubs. So if you never see Hapiloppian players on the transfer window or Hapiloppian teams not bidding, that's why.

Either way, Mallett is quite the goalscorer and is hoping to replicate Ernie's infamous "hop-skip-holy shit" goal from years gone by. Ernie is trying to dissuade him from this and is concerned his attitude may turn out to be a negative for the team, not a positive. Justin Cherry, the other goalscorer, has expressed some concern that Mallett is trying to build the team into a showcase for himself and not into a unit set for everyone. Cherry has discussed this concern with Stevenson, who agrees with this sentiment. It will be interesting to see what happens with these two players, particularly if the results don't show like they did not do during the CAFA Cup.

Likely starters are Mallett (#10), Cherry (#11).

Likely bench players are Ingram (#41), Butterball (#48).

Style of Play
Style Modifier: -1.22
Description: Unlike his stint as Hispinas manager, Alfonzo Medrano did not advise SFI's national football teams to play an attacking mindset, instead, he prescribed a balanced style of play in a 4-2-1-3 formation that would easily transition to defensive or attacking set plays on the fly. Frain took this advice to mind, hence the current identity of the national team. Frain also prefers a rigid style of play prioritizing defense over offense.

The team plays all their home games at the brand new 80000-seater Nuevo Estadio Nacional in Nuevo San Marco.

Official Kits
Libertad Sportswear supplies all national teams' kits with a 15-year contract since World Cup 97 qualifying. For the landmark 100th edition of the World Cup, Libertad decided to honor the past of the team as they don the kits worn by the Sangti's national team when they made their first World Cup Finals, as well as the very first change kit for the team when they made their competitive debut in the 52nd Baptism of Fire tournament.

Primary Kit - yellow with black trim and gray horizontal pinstripes, yellow shorts, black socks

Secondary Kit - Red shirt with blue horizontal stripes and yellow collar, red shorts, yellow socks

Bostopia plays a standard 4–4–2 formation, with two central midfielders, one of whom will hold their position in attack, and drop back a little when out of possession. The second central midfielder is more likely to join attacks going forward, running into the gaps between your midfielders and your defenders.

The Bostopian side plays a quick passing game made up largely of shorter passes, believing the best defence is a good offence, and you can't score if we have the ball*. While we favour possession, the team is both intelligent enough and indeed capable of taking calculated risks, playing longer passes or even passes 'over the top' into space for strikers or wingers to run onto if the chance is there.

Kits

Home, Away, and Third

ImageImageImage

Kits kindly designed and created by the Bostopian Football Association's Yes Yes Bush! brand for the Bostopian Football Association.
Images of kits kindly provided by the Bostopian Football Association, by and for the Bostopian Football Association.

Kits are self explanatory – they are the shirt designs that all ten of our outfield players will wear (and substitutes when entering the field at the appropriate time). They will all wear the same shirt design at the same time. Our goalkeepers will wear a plainly-designed shirt in a flourescent colour which we feel your players will dislike the most. Please inform us in advance of any colours particularly offensive to your nation so we can amend our kits and/or colours accordingly. If we were playing Bettia at home OR away, for example, we would very gladly wear our red kits and probably change our flag to red (what a lark that would be) very especially for the occasion.

For those of you who are triggered by images of football shirts, or living under a dystopian champagne-socialist north-of-the-river Government who is blocking websites hosting images, Bostopia will play in our traditional lime home kit with one white and one blue v-stripe, an away kit consisting of a red shirt with a double white v-stripe, a third kit of a blue shirt with one white and one red v-stripe.

If your team is not designated as the home team, and your colours clash with ours, you will change your kits to an alternative, or be roundly mocked and scorned by everyone starting with us. That we need to say this is nothing short of ridiculous, but our players will of course also wear shorts, socks, shinpads and boots. The shorts and socks will match the primary colour of the shirt. The shorts all have a white stripe on the left and right side, over the seam. The socks will have two white hoops at the top of the sock. If any of the shorts or socks clash, we will change them to something appropriate.

After Bostopia wins a home game, a patriotic song titled 'Victory, Victory, Victory' is played. After a loss, nothing specific is played, though the tone of any music chosen wouldn't be upbeat.

RELATIVELY IMPORTANT NOTE: In a change of pace this World Cup, Mainline Hapilopper will be focused more on a matter related to the decreasing stability of the Hapiloppian government. Unless I get a dumb idea that makes me laugh, not many WC100 RPs for Mainline Hapilopper will focus on the matches. This roster here is to help you decide who will score, who will get their ass kicked, who gets thrown out, and who will commit some form of war crime.

(AI Disclosure: The pictures of people and of the stadium on this roster post were generated using ChatGPT, while the picture of Dom Probst was generated some time ago using Stable Diffusion. This is such because I can't draw worth shit. But I don't use AI in my writings and you shouldn't either.)
Image

ELLIS FOOTBALL: THE HAPILOPPIAN TEAM
Full Nation Name: The Dominion of Hapilopper
Trigramme: HAP
Nickname: The Haps, Mainline Hapilopper, the Mainline Haps
Team Colors: Blue, Green

Info:
It feels like Mainline Hapilopper is starting to get left behind in favor of the beer leaguers in HOT-DAMN. HOT-DAMN, the last two years, have qualified for the knockout rounds, they have gotten players to defect, and they have seemingly been going from strength to strength. The Mainline Haps, meanwhile, failed to qualify for the World Cup last year, and the Hapilopper Football Association has been questioning what they need to do to keep this team competitive. Dom Probst, head of the HFA, is considering redoing the Hapiloppian squad - again - in a different image, considering letting Thom Perkins go as acting head coach, and considering redoing what Hapilopper does with its football squad. World Cup 100 will be a pivotal tournament for the future of the team.

COACHING STAFF:
DIRECTOR: Dominic Probst
Image

Dominic Probst, more commonly known as "Dom", is the man in charge of the sport of football in Hapilopper. He'd like to be in charge of all football in Hapilopper. We probably wouldn't have had HOT-DAMN if he was. He's run the sport in Hapilopper since the early 2000s, and was directly responsible for Hapilopper fielding a national team 16 years ago. After a brief time away, he returned to the helm several years ago. He developed an uneasy truce with Nathan Ellis as Ellis built his own national team from the ground up. After Ellis died, the team retained the name "Ellis Football" as a memorial to him. But questions remain just how long that memorial will stand. Rumors stand that Probst will drop that name after World Cup 100. Watch this space.

PERMANENT HEAD COACH: Nathan Ellis
Image

The shadow of the late Nathan Ellis looms large over both the Hapiloppian and HOT-DAMN squads. For a refresher: Ellis was Hapilopper's ill-tempered and very violent starting defenseman dating back to the days of the Baptism of Fire. Ellis gained a reputation as a violent gentleman but the most important figure for Hapilopper's football program. He was the spiritual leader of Hapiloppian football, and after restarting the national team in his own image, he was the leader of Hapiloppian Football for sure. Ellis contracted double pneumonia and passed away several years ago from complications. Both Team Hapilopper and HOT-DAMN lay claim to being the side Ellis would have supported - HOT-DAMN especially so with Ernie Stevenson running it. The truth is probably somewhat more complicated than that.

ACTING HEAD COACH: Thomas Perkins
Image

Thom Perkins, Hapilopper's original head coach, took the job back after Ellis's death. His offense-heavy style of football - the so-called "Funball" style of football that was popularized by Ellis - will allow goals to be scored, but it will score plenty of goals against sides that are not ready for it. While Perkins' tenure at Team Hapilopper is secure due to his close allegiance with Dom Probst, it remains to be seen if the fans will continue to tolerate his presence. The rift between he and Ernie Stevenson was very public and Stevenson, beloved among Hapiloppians, made his feelings known about the whole situation. This has made Perkins incredibly unpopular among Hapiloppian sports fans. It's plenty possible he may have to lead this team all the way to the top for the fans to forgive him. Perkins relies on a 4-4-2 formation.

STADIUMS:
Nathan Ellis SuperStadium | Hapilopper City | Built: 2030
Capacity: 120,032 | Open-Air | Natural Grass
Image

The long-awaited new stadium for Team Hapilopper, Ellis SuperStadium sits on the grounds of the Hapilopper National Exhibition. The multi-purpose stadium can house multiple codes of football, including gridiron and association, and baseball. But the only permanent tenants in National Exhibition Stadium are the Hapilopper National teams of football and baseball, should that ever exist again. The club teams for both baseball and football remain in Capital Stadium across town. The point of the new stadium is simple: A large enough home for Hapilopper's national team, and a home for a Hapiloppian World Cup Final, should Hapilopper ever host a World Cup Proper. The stadium would become the centerpiece of a "Hapilopper World Cup Exhibition," where Hapilopper's biggest annual party of the summertime, the Hapilopper National Exhibition, would be retooled around the World Cup Proper, and the centerpiece of the national fair would be the World Cup Final.

HAPILOPPER PLAYER POOL - WORLD CUP 100 CYCLE
(Likely starters in red, bench players in bold)

GOALKEEPERS
## Player Age Position Team Kicks Personality
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
1 Lou Hyde 28 Sweeper United Hampton Right Brooding
30 Manny Wakefield 26 Sweeper Highway Patrol Right Intense
60 Fox Humbert 23 Save/Pray Lake Sprague FC Left Clumsy
90 Bernie Willoughby 21 Standard FC Surrey Left Creative
91 Clint German 34 Sweeper Minortown SC Right Goofball
92 Denny Wagg 20 Standard Hap City Generals Right Obnoxious
93 Randall Herta 29 Standard Surrey United Right Relaxed
94 Alex Hargrove 30 Sweeper FC Buckridge Right Professional
95 Adam Haverty 28 Standard W.H. Sports Club Right Stupid

PLAYERS TO WATCH:
Louis Hyde is retained as the starting keeper for Team Hapilopper. A quiet, dark-haired man that sits in his corner by himself, Hyde prefers the company of his cat, Smokey, slow mournful tunes on the radio and poetry. He doesn't drink. He doesn't party. He doesn't carouse. He's the anti-Hapiloppian athlete, if that makes sense. But yet, he has been a crucial piece of Hapilopper's national team, a major reason why the team has made it to the World Cup a lot lately. His immediate backups are Manny Wakefield, a nice guy off the pitch but a real demon behind the net. Number three on the depth chart is Adam Haverty, the insanely lucky keeper for West Hampton Sports Club.

Haverty is known for saving sure goals in the stupidest and most idiotic of ways, including, last year in a match against FC Surrey, a save where, not thinking about it, he performed a pelvic thrust at the ball, not thinking there was any other way to save a sure goal. The ball made direct contact with his nuts. He went down in a heap, but no goal was scored. It led to the Hapilopper Football Association considering a rule stating that a player must not intentionally contact the ball with his nuts, on top of his hands and arms. The so-called "Nutball" regulation was voted down by HFA head Dom Probst, because it was just plain stupid.

DEFENSEMEN
## Player Age Position Team Kicks Personality
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
2 Shan Bone 24 Def. Back K. Warriors Left Calm
3 Arnold March 27 D. Enforcer H.C. Soldiers Right Asshole
4 Scott Roundtree 24 Centerback Halsted Heat Right Intense
05 Daniel Bradford 24 Centerback FC Buckridge Ass (L) Redneck

22 Tim Stone 25 Def. Back United Hampton Right Calm
23 David Colt 26 Centerback W.H. Sports Club Left Antisocial
24 Peter Hardy 31 Def. Back H.C. Soldiers Right Goofball

26 Mack Beadle 30 Def. Back Halsted Heat Left Asshole
27 Darren Knowlton 29 Centerback H.C. Soldiers Right Creative
28 A.R. Prince 32 Centerback Surrey United Left Relaxed
29 Ted Shammes 19 Def. Back FC Buckridge Right Asshole

PLAYERS TO WATCH:
The first of the HOT-DAMN defects were seen in the defenseman's room. Huntley McCullough and Rod Cutt both left the HFA squad for HOT-DAMN and Ernie Stevenson. As a result, two players have been promoted to starter. Shan Bone, the calm, relaxed defensive back from Kingsland, has been criticized for not going hard enough after the ball and not trying hard enough to get into card trouble. He's a clean player, he doesn't get in trouble, and the skeptics say that's a problem for him. He's one of those lunch pail types that clocks in, does his work, clocks out, then goes home and does whatever he likes.

The second promotion is Daniel Bradford, who now wears the Number of Violence for the HFA. But unlike previous wearers of the Number of Violence, Daniel Bradford isn't the kind of person that would be named "Most Likely to Commit a War Crime on the Soccer Pitch." He's not going to separate a forward from his teeth, nor is he going to try to commit a Class-1 Felony on anyone carrying the ball. Daniel Bradford, for what it's worth, comes to the matches in a loud, obnoxious cowboy hat, the kind with feathers all over the front of it; snakeskin cowboy boots, and a very fat lip, fattened by some form of chewin' tobacco. He drives an old pickup truck and likes those country songs where you dance in a line and a square. There are some rumors that Bradford even chews tobacco while playing football. So watch this space if he spits some of that tobacky juice all over an opposing player. That might be the catalyst of a bench-clearing brawl.

They'll start most games along with Arn March and Scott Roundtree. March is the kind of guy that looks like your 45-year old uncle, but can - and will - beat the crap out of you if you look funny. As you were. Roundtree, meanwhile, is known for an incident two years ago where he ended up covered in blood after getting spiked in the face and laughed it off. Pictures of a smiling Roundtree, covered in blood, made newspapers all over Hapilopper.

PLAYERS TO WATCH:
Tim Radomia is gone. So much for the smell of weed radiating through the HFA locker rooms. Noted redneck Stan Batson replaces him. Batson enjoys country music, cheap beer and bar fights. Last year, he gained a red card and a three-match suspension for pummeling an opposing goalkeeper early in the season after that goalkeeper called him an "inbred." Batson didn't take too well to that, and told the keeper he'd hogtie him if that happened again. He will be joined by Jamie Hause, Trevor Jericho and David Chaney, new additions to the team. All three of them are those you'd be fine letting your daughter date.

Hause is an avid reader. He enjoys reading newspapers every day and also enjoys the fishing at Lake Sprague. During the offseason, you can find him in the mornings on his little fishing boat, trying to catch something to enjoy on the day. He's said to be very wise beyond his years and likely has a bright future with Team Hapilopper. Jericho, on the other hand, would be considered a great player if he didn't have two left feet. He's right-footed, by the way. Some have accused him of diving - a very serious charge in the Hapiloppian game. Players found guilty of diving are given straight red cards and automatic 10-match suspensions. David Chaney, meanwhile, is a quiet - yet scary - midfielder that can be a deceptive goal threat on the field, and a deceptive threat to steal your girlfriend off the field.

Likely backups are Milo Joyce, Ron Markway and Wyatt Spencer. Joyce does not have a club team yet, and is instead a recent graduate of Cooter Harris's School of Fine Football Learnin'. Harris views Joyce as his star graduate for this year, and gave a strong recommendation to Team Hapilopper to invite him for the World Cup 99 cycle. He impressed in practices, and his age and inexperience is the only thing keeping him from starting. Markway, meanwhile, is best known for his gentle presence in the Highway Patrol locker room. He lounges in his chair, reading a newspaper and sipping on a cup of hot tea prior to taking the field. He doesn't get anxious nor does he get too keyed up. This is a good thing: It helps relax his teammates. Spencer could use that kind of energy. He's a dirty player, seeking any kind of advantage - whether that involve surreptitiously diving, or if it involves sneakily cheap-shotting an opponent or doing anything to draw the referee's attention. Among his teammates, his nickname is "Captain Dickhead." We'll let you draw your opinions from that nickname.

PLAYERS TO WATCH:
Right now, we're just going to go out and say it: We don't know what the hell Thom Perkins was thinking here. The two starting forwards are all new, Stan McLamb also defecting to HOT-DAMN, and the other, Dennis Waterloo, currently spending a few months in a North Hampton jail for attempting to steal a golf cart from a dealership. To replace them, Thom has promoted the clumsiest man in Hapiloppian sport and one of the Surrey Sloshed Scorers.

Frank Colin Pinto could still be Hapilopper's next goal scorer. He could, too, still be a megastar. Lord knows he's got the looks for it. Unfortunately, he's also one of the dumbest individuals on the planet and one of the clumsiest. Pinto has a tendency to get himself into trouble when nobody else is around or when no one could cause any sort of issue. Some joke he's accidentally tied his shoes together. Others compare him to a popular and fast, but wildly crashy, Hapiloppian ChampCar single-seater racer who broke the Hapiloppian record for most wrecks in a season last year. Last year, in a match against the Kytler Peninsulae, Pinto lost his footing, slipped, and collided with Kytlerian player Yvie Grant-Estill in such a manner that Thom almost apologized to the Kytlerian manager for it.

Zack Gardener is one of the Surrey Sloshed Scorers alongside Jamie Rupert. Rupert and Gardener ranked third and fourth in the league in goals scored last year, but led the league in blood alcohol content. They also led the league in bars thrown out of and embarrassing social media photos taken. Fans all across Hapilopper have stories about how Rupert and Gardener enjoyed a wild evening after a match with them, and then just about got them in trouble. They aren't violent drunks, and you won't hear about bar fights, they just go to a bar, have the proverbial one beer, and next thing you know, that "one beer" has become "one case of beer and two bottles of 100-proof liquor." And eventually a quiet discussion became a rip-roaring debate on the physics of golf carts.

HISTORY

Chromatika first entered the World Cup in Cycle 73, going a modest 3-2-7. They made the Cup of Harmony in Cycle 74, and qualified for the first time in Cycle 75, losing in the Round of Sixteen. Chromatika would have their most successful campaign in World Cup 76, making it to the 3rd place Playoff before finishing in fourth place, despite the domestic upheaval in the country. Their first Manager, Franscesca Larriet-Cortes, was martyred at the end of World Cup 75; the political stresses of the job made it so that Lisa Amos, the team's Manager after Franscesca, resigned after World Cup 76.

The team would enjoy continued success from World Cup 77 through World Cup 81, as Silian Parker helped the squad qualify for the World Cup every time, and the team even made it to the Round of Sixteen or beyond three of those times. Even when Chromatika didn't enter World Cup 82, their return to the World Cup in 83 was a success, though both World Cup 83 and 84 saw the Anomalies stymied at the Proper Group Stage - 84 being under new management in Nepharan Konrad Evans.

World Cup 85 was a disaster - the team didn't qualify and didn't even make a deep run in the Cup of Harmony, leading to the sacking of Evans and the appointment of Richard Valens of Krytenia and Tim Landers of Delaclava. The team would qualify in World Cup 86, and 87, host the World Cup in 88, and return to the Proper in 89. However, Chromatika was not making the deep runs that the nation wanted/needed, so they said goodbye to Valens and Landers and looked inward.

Sandra Sybill and Rachel Hellion, key figures during Chromatika's runs in the early days, stepped in. A loss to Nyowani Kitara meant that they were eliminated, but the team turned around and won the 82nd Cup of Harmony. The following cycle, they made it to the Playoffs, where a loss in penalties to Zeta Reka and Hügeltaldom sealed the fate of Sybil and Hellion. Lisa Amos stepped in to lead the team to a respectable Quarterfinal finish in the resulting Cup of Harmony, and Chromatika was left wondering just how far they were away from the glory days.

Lev Repin came in, promising glory - and the Anomalies grabbed it off the cuff, winning their Group to qualify ahead of Ko-oren. Put into a group with Turori, Eura, and Cassadaigua, the Anomalies lost to Turori 3-0 before recovering to win narrowly over Eura and Cassadaigua. They'd fall 1-2 to perennial powerhouses Græntfjall, but they had finally broken back through.

Then, with the World Cup returning to Chromatika, the Anomalies went on the run of a lifetime, making their way to the World Cup Final, beating Zwangzug in the process. They eventually lost the final 3-4 to Banija, but had put themselves back as the #4 team in the world and capable of contending at the biggest stage.

World Cup 94 saw the Anomalies make the Round of Sixteen before losing to Banija once again; then, they cohosted World Cup 95 with Sylestone, only to go 0-2-1 in the Group Stage and not make the Round of Sixteen. World Cup 96 saw a dominant qualifying cycle - only losing once on the final matchday to Abanhfleft - culminate with another Group Stage exit at the hands of Juvencus.

Repin and the Chromatik Football Federation decided to part ways. They then brought in Alina Khabibullina to right the ship - and she led the team straight back to the World Cup Proper. Unfortunately, despite the field being expanded to forty-eight, the Chromatiks lost in the Group Stage once again.

They finally made it to the Round of Sixteen in World Cup 99, making it through the Group Stage and the Round of Thirty-Two before bowing out to Valanora. It was a payoff for a nation that had been waiting for a long time.

MANAGEMENT STAFF

MG ImageAlina KHABIBULLINA | Age: 52 | Debut Cycle: 97
The new Manager of Chromatika. A relatively new find, Khabibullina is a motivator and a technician who likes to try to get the most out of her charges. She took the team to the World Cup the last three cycles, and finally cracked the Round of Sixteen. She's now been given a two-cycle extension to continue.

PHY ImageZoe "Z" Benne | Age 52 | Debut Cycle: 80
Once a heartthrob, Zoe Benne is married to former Chromatik superstar Erika Morningstar. Zoe has been a constant for fourteen cycles now, and has had to treat everything from sprained ankles to serious injuries after the bus sabotage last cycle. She remains a great asset.

SMC ImageShelby Arling | Age: 37 | Debut Cycle: 87
The presence of Arling as the Social Media Coordinator has become as important as ever. She is the primary communications officer for all things regarding the Senior Squad, and one of the confidants of Repin. All questions go through her, and she takes away any and all distractions.

Depth Chart
Hailee SOURTOIS
Jill SWANSON
Jessika ANISTON
Hera COURTOIS

Hailee Sourtois is the unquestioned #1. With tremendous aerial reach, command of area, and jumping reach, Sourtois is a master of the aerial game. Possessing strong metal faculties with communication and decision-making, the Goalkeeper also has decent work rate, vision, and teamwork, along with positioning. Not the most natural of athletes, her quickness, aggression, and bravery could use some work, but decent anticipation, agility, and balance, along with high stamina make her one of the best goalkeepers. It is now her era to shine.

Jill Swanson is a model of composure and a symbol of consistency; Jessika Aniston joins her, also from the Red League level - having control over the flow of play on the pitch and in stressful situations. This rivalry is a friendly, yet fierce, one - don't be surprised Aniston goes ahead of Swanson on the depth chart sometime (it just hasn't happened yet)

Hera Courtois is the heir apparent of them all. She's good at everything that doesn't involve the ball at her feet. It's going to be fun to see how much she improves in the years to come, but with the three ahead of her being the same age range, the world is her oyster.

Depth Chart
Ami COULIBALY - Eileen JACKSON-JONES - Uemura SABURO
Paisley PATERSON - Claudia LETHBRIDGE-ANTONIO - Cylie NODIS
Jaxon LEHMANN - Samantha Han CUNNINGHAM - Hélène ATACIARA

Khabibullina has decided to keep the system of three in the back. Ami Coulibaly has established herself as the starter at Right Centre, the Banijan/Chromatik dual-national cementing herself after the last few tournaments. Known for her friendship with the Tumbran Golden Duo of Trudy Harrison and Stephen Kerr at Chromatik, Coulibaly uses dogged determination and endless motor to frustrate her foes; she is also quite good on her feet and in passing the ball up the pitch. Eileen Jackson-Jones has earned the right to be the first-choice center back, an intense, put-together defender who can handle almost anyone that gets into her zone. She has stamina to go the whole game. Cracking into the starting role is Uemura Saburo, who has solid fundamentals and the mental edge, with the rest of his game having developed to be above average. It was time for Saburo to step in, though Nodis will be on call.

Paisley Paterson continues at the second line. Born to a Chromatik mother and a Licentian father, Paterson grew up in Chromia, and only started football in her late teens. With size, pace, and most of all, a mentality of steel, Paterson has shown that she can be an enforcer on the pitch, not shying away from contact without drawing too many fouls. Her aerial game is still a cause for concern, but the dogged determination with which she pursues every play has made her an instant favorite no matter which coaching staff she works with. Claudia Lethbridge-Antonio brings her pedigree and physical nature, loving getting her hands dirty while not getting called for the foul - she is the perfect mixture of her two parents. Cylie Nodis, the most offensive minded center back in Chromatik history, moves to be an impact sub. Despite her defensive game improving with age, she'll still be known for having a nose for the ball on every set piece, some deep crosses and the ability to thread the needle using either foot.

Jaxon Lehmann is lanky, tall, and physical. Has the physical stature to be in the way, the smarts to act on it, and an aggressive instinct to harass people. Samantha Han Cunningham has recently graduated from the CCFA, still possessing grit and a mean tackle. Also dangerous on set pieces due to her ability to position herself, she will be a part of the picture going forward. Hélène Ataciara provides versatility, being able to play with either foot - rounding out a capable reserve unit.

Depth Chart
Grayson FILLAR - Edith FILLAR
Jacoliene HAUPTMEIJER - Nemes MÁTYÁS
Kandice ORIOL - Róza PANAŚ
Willemieke JANISEN OP COLMANS

Chromatika continues to use spectacular wingbacks - pinning their ears back and defend, or sometimes running up the field and add to the attack. Some of them are better at some aspect of that than others. Grayson Fillar is a bullheaded, stubborn, physical right back will will outright impose his will on his opponents. Overshadowed by his younger sister, the electric Baillaire, Grayson was the one who actually chose to finish high school in Chromatika before making the move to 1830 Cathair. Though he says that he's proud of his sister (and he probably is), there is a deeply competitive streak in him that demands that he also make a name for himself atop Chromatika's slew of Fillars. On the pitch, he knows how to use his size to its utmost advantage, almost appearing larger than he is at times. He also understands the importance of momentum and tone, leading to his not being shy to commit a foul if one is needed. He has presence, physicality, and endurance, and has added an offensive edge to his game by providing some pace and some through-balls to the front. His last stop on a storied career is Oriannor Mountaineers FC. Alongside him is Edith Fillar, the next coming of Megan Kelly, or the Chromatik winger who's short but can run circles around would-be defenders and take over the game due to where she is on the pitch. She may not be the quickest off the ball, but she has the relentlessness that has been present on many great Chromatik wingers. With the mindset of a drill sergeant who is definitely the strictest on herself, she has established herself to be one of the greatest wingers in Chromatik history. She's added playing man-to-man defense to her arsenal of formidable skills, as well as the ability to contribute long-range assists with deadly, precise crosses. This will likely be the last tournament with both of them starting.

For the players behind these two, any of them can be used at any time - what they provide are all distinct and unique enough to be sought after. Jacoliene Hauptmeijer enters the national team picture, with a sublime first touch and great skills as long as she isn't getting obstructed - she's working on that. Nemes Mátyás is a sniper through and through who can score at any range - and as his play improves, he'll become even more dangerous. Kandice Oriol is tireless tactician who isn't the best with her feet, but is lethal with her head due to tremendous jumping reach, while Róża Panaś is neither the fastest nor the most creative, but is a good defensive option. Willemieke Janissen op Colmans is an unconventional winger who is more of a support character than a scorer. He's very good at setting up that goal, though.

Depth Chart
Alija MESIC-MIZAYAKI
Jayla LETHBRIDGE-ANTONIO
Cassandra VAN DER BORGHT
Eden GUNDSDORF
Erica HOLGERSSON

Any formation needs at least one Defensive Midfielder, and Chromatika has the pick of the lot at the position, even after the retirement of Enigma Armageddon, Leysa Burns, Mare Si, Kateryna Zuniga, and Kaia Larriet-Cortes from the National Team. Alija Mesic-Mizayaki, is very good at defending, but continues to learn how this position can also contribute to the attack, while perfecting her already formidable arsenal in regards to marking, tackling, and defensive positioning. It is finally her era to be the starting central midfielder, and she's ready for the challenge.

Jayla Lethbridge-Antonio with her size and creativity, is the future - and her physicality is an added plus. A better-than-average defensive midfielder with solid positioning and physicality to boot, Cassandra Van Der Borght is very good at decking key players of the opposition to the pitch - cleanly, of course. Eden Gundsdorf is the best defensive midfielder prospect from the CCFA level in a while - her fundamentals are something else altogether, and she's ended up at Myana then Tihon. She'll have competition in the years to come with Jayla, but that will be fun to watch.

Rounding out the rotation is Erica Holgersson, who's taken being drafted by Omnio to be a sign that she needs to work harder. An enforcer through and through who'll do whatever it takes to get the job done, even if it means getting a card. Such determination can be useful when used correctly, but a detriment otherwise - but she has time to work that out.

This remains a lynchpin position for Chromatika.

Depth Chart
Baillaire FILLAR - Evin FRANÇINE-MIKLAVIVEC
Maddie PRENN
ÞYRILL Bjarnhéðinsson - LEE Hyun-Seol

Depending on the formation, these roles can be taken by two other Midfielders that contribute to the attack, or a Central Midfielder and an Attacking Midfielder to differentiate the roles. Baillaire Fillar is the flashiest of the Fillars, subscribing to the Hermaeus Mora/Haley Hauser school of Attacking Midfielders, marrying both styles by shooting first and asking questions later while making deep runs into opposing territory. With a creative and dramatic flair that doesn't really exist in other Chromatiks from the past, Baillaire is a playmaker through and through. Having crested a hundred caps in the last World Cup, she's continued to mature in her game, and shows no signs of slowing down in her growth, having led Sivolvia Capitalizt to their first tile in the SRS.

With Haley Hauser, Alissar Pheon, and Vasiliy Marten Kuznetsov both having retired, Evin Françine-Miklavivec is next - and she has now moved from 1923 Esca to Kirkenes FC in Kelssek. She can hang with most but not all attacking players while also getting by most but not all defenders; she's quick but not lightning-fast, strong but not like a bulldozer, and creative but not brilliant. Maddie Prenn has impressed with how much she's progressed as an on-field player as of late. No longer is she just a sniper who fires from wherever she wants to; she's now someone who knows how to read the flow of the game, make runs, and make the key passes that are either assists or the pass that leads to that assist. Þyrill Bjarnhéðinsson steps in as a creative outlet that has pace, vision, and deadly shooting skill - while Lee Hyun-Seol, who is more of an attacking midfielder who can contribute to the attack, rounds out the roster.

Depth Chart
Lavrentiy XUEN-ZHUKOV - Elaine HOWARD-DAWES
Kaytlyn JEAN-BAPTISTE - Harriet BAÏE-VERTE
Adélaïde BITTENCOURT - Jack HEIMDELL

Lavrentiy Xuen-Zhukov continues to write his own legend, averaging more than a goal per match and becoming a crowd favorite for Chromatika. Xuen-Zhukov is a Complete Forward that uses a combination of pace, stamina, and acceleration to fly past the opposition and score. He was the fastest ever to reach more than twenty goals - he will likely be the highest scoring Chromatik ever by the time his career is over. Having claimed the spot as the second striker is Elaine Howard-Dawes, the shooter who's lethal from close to midrange. She can contribute as long as she doesn't need to get past someone to achieve that shot. Xuen-Zhukov takes all the attention, and Howard-Dawes capitalizes - as shown by her time with Crossroads

Kaytlyn Jean-Baptiste and Harriet Baïe-Verte have established themselves as second string. Jean-Baptiste has an endless motor, gets better the longer the game goes, and knows when to step up in big situations; Baïe-Verte is a more well-rounded player who will do almost anything to reach her goals. At RGS Athletic, she's developed into more of a consistent scoring threat

Adélaïde Bittencourt is a true striker who's earned the right to be on the roster as a solid backup option, while Jack Heimdell is a beanpole with tremendous heading skills who's best used in set pieces.

Lavrentiy is the pure scorer on the team, while Howard-Dawes is the other starting striker.

TACTICAL INFORMATION
(Many thanks to Mytanija for the blueprint.)

Chromatika's 3-4-1-2 is based off of Mytanija's formation.

3-4-1-2 – IN POSSESSION: Chromatika's base formation for World Cup 97 qualification is a 3-4-1-2. This means there will be 3 central defenders, a wing-back on either side, 2 central midfielders, an attacking midfielder and 2 strikers on the pitch at any one time. This does not mean that the team will play in these positions for the whole game, as Chromatiks have adopted the Mytanar philosophy of flexibility in and out of possession, utilizing the fact that until very recently, they ran a 4-3-2-1/4-4-1-1. When Chromatika has the ball the 3-4-1-2 will change into more of a 3-2-5 shape, this is designed to try to create overloads in attacking areas so that the Chromatiks can create two versus one situations where the opposition have to make decisions on who they will engage with.

This 3-2-5 will be achieved firstly by one of the wing-backs (from the starting line-up, this would be right-sided wing-back Grayson Fillar) moving into a central midfield position to play alongside the deeper-lying of the two central midfielders (Alija Mesic-Mizayaki, if among the Starting XI). This creates a pairing in central midfield which will be used to help the team build-up, providing passing options both in front of the central defensive three and the 5 players which end-up ahead of them.

That 5 is made-up of the opposite-sided wing-back (in this example it would be left wing-back Edith Fillar), the more advanced central midfielder (Baillaire Fillar), the attacking midfielder (Evin Françine-Miklavivec); and the strikers (usually Xuen-Zhukov and Howard-Dawes). The wing-back has to push on to achieve the 3-2-5 shape, getting into the final third and maintaining the width on their side of the pitch. They will be given some license to get into the penalty area if the ball is on the other side, giving another option for their teammates. The more advanced central midfielder will be tasked with playing inside of the wing-back, in the so-called ‘half-space’, they will look to work with the wing-back to create an overload on their side of the pitch.

The attacking midfielder and the two strikers will interchange fairly freely, though one will always be tasked with pulling wide to ensure that width is maintained on both sides of the attacking ‘5’ with the aim of stretching the opposition’s defense across the width of the pitch. One striker (usually Howard-Dawes in the Starting XI) will drop deep to create space for rotations with the attacking midfielder and the other striker, those two looking to run into and exploit the space vacated by the other striker. These rotations are aimed to shift the opposition defenders around the pitch and create a bit of confusion.

In terms of progressing the play the team will look to move the ball with controlled pace. The team will aim to do this with utmost precision, as is the Chromatik way.

3-4-1-2 – OUT OF POSSESSION: Chromatika's reaction to losing the ball depends on where they actually lose possession on the pitch. Should they lose the ball high-up the pitch, in the opposition’s half, then there will be an instantaneous reaction to press the opponent with the ball to try to win it back quickly high-up the pitch. This is hoped to create chances nearer to the opposition’s goal, effectively using the press as a playmaker. If the opponent breaks through the initial press then Chromatika will look to recover into a 5-3-2 shape as below. Should Chromatika lose the ball nearer to their own goal then they will instantly look to recover into defensive positions to try to make themselves difficult to break down. This shape will be closer to a 5-3-2 than the 3-4-1-2 starting formation.

Both wing-backs will drop deeper, alongside the three central defenders to form the 5. The two central midfielders (Mesic-Mizayaki and Baillaire Fillar), will drop deep in front of the three central defenders to shield them a little and the attacking midfielder (Evin Françine-Miklavivec), will drop to play in front of them, operating as a bit of a guard dog – either sitting on an opposition deep-lying playmaker to try to stop the ball into them, or by leading a half-pitch press. The two strikers will look to stop the ball going back to the opposition’s central defenders and press them when they are in possession.

Chromatika will also play a variety of other formations should they want to play a little differently, the most likely ones they would change to from the 3-4-1-2 are a 3-5-2 (taking out the attacking midfielder and using three central midfielders); a 4-3-1-2 (pushing the wing-backs back to play as full-backs, removing a central defender and replacing them with a defensive or central midfielder); a 4-2-3-1 (pushing the wing-backs back to play as full-backs, removing a central defender and a striker and then playing a winger on either side); or a narrow 4-4-2 diamond (pushing the wing-backs back to play as full-backs, removing a central defender to play either as a defensive or central midfielder). Chromatika is very versed in the 4-2-3-1 and the 4-4-2, as they've played those before under previous management.

STRATEGY SUMMARY: Khabibullina is a motivator through and through who tries to get the most out of her players; the thought is that the strategy is not bad - they just weren't applying themselves fully, or were going through some things. Hopefully, that'll be enough.
