Treaty of Asphodel between Vibonia and the Plains of Perdition

The Plains of Perdition and Vibonia are happy to announce we have ratified the Treaty of Asphodel. In a constantly evolving environment, our regions find it important to forge everlasting ties between ourselves. This treaty includes mutual recognitions of sovereignty and commitments to mutual defense, as well as cultural and WA collaboration. We look forward to working together in these fields, and hope that this treaty serves as the jumping off point for future collaboration between us.

Treaty of Asphodel

Article I - Mutual Recognition

1. The Plains of Perdition recognizes Vibonia, represented by the President according to the Constitution of Vibonia. The Plains of Perdition will not recognize any WA Delegacy or Presidency not held in accordance with the laws of the region.

2. Vibonia recognizes the Plains of Perdition, represented by the Primarch according to the Covenant of Radiance. Vibonia will not recognize any WA Delegacy not held by the Primarch or their chosen successor.

Article II - Security

1. The parties shall not engage in any military hostilities against the other. Participation by the parties on opposite sides of a military engagement that does not constitute an attack on either party’s regions or territories shall not be considered “military hostilities” for this purpose.

2. The signatories agree not to engage in espionage or other clandestine activities against each other.

3. The signatories agree to militarily aid each other against attempts to overthrow the legally recognized government of either signatory.
a. Upon request of the other, signatories will agree to provide military assistance to assist in the legal transition of the other’s WA Delegate.

4. The signatories agree to provide each other with intelligence of any known threat to either signatory.
a. Any intelligence shared in accordance with this clause shall only be done in compliance with the region’s respective laws, and in a manner which does not unduly compromise each signatory’s source of information.

Article III - Cooperation

1. The signatories will endeavor to actively work to boost cooperation between their respective governments.

2. The signatories will share embassies to allow cross-posting and interregional cultural exchanges.

3. The signatories will endeavor, where appropriate and possible, to collaborate on social and cultural activities.

4. The signatories will endeavor, where appropriate and possible, to collaborate on World Assembly projects, including proposals, educational initiatives, and other projects.

5. The signatories are encouraged to collaborate on military operations of both the offensive and defensive varieties, when of mutual interest.

Article IV - General Provisions

1. This treaty will come into effect when ratified by the Plains of Perdition and Vibonia, in accordance with their respective laws and customs.

2. The signatories may collectively issue statements or memoranda to clarify the terms of this treaty.

3. This treaty may be amended by mutual agreement of both signatories so long as proposed amendments are ratified by both signatories in accordance with their respective laws and customs.

4. The signatories will endeavor to resolve any and all disputes between them through peaceful means and will refrain from threatening force or sanctions against each other.

5. Either signatory may terminate this treaty with seventy-two hours of notice to the other signatory, after which this treaty will no longer be considered binding. Termination will not be interpreted as an act of aggression.

Operation Open Gate | Vibonian Defense Force

It was a quiet night at the Vibonian Defense Force's Headquarters before the peace was broken by the arrival of a messenger. An invitation from the Plains of Perdition in hand, he reported a sighting of The Hanguard, a region associated with fascists and bigots, to the VDF's High Command, and relayed that Perdition wished to invite Vibonia to participate in the operation. That was enough. At the toll of the bells, soldiers began filing out and marching to aid Perdition in their righteous mission to destroy fascist regions.

When August 30th's major update rolled around, it was time to move. The Vibonian Defense Force, along with a coalition notably including The West Pacific Armed Forces, the Grand Army of Carcassonne, the Radiant Inquisition of Perdition, and The Outback Bushrangers, invaded The Hanguard and hoisted its victorious banners over the region, with over 50 participating updaters before rising to over 100 pilers.

The VDF had sent 7 updaters to the operation, which is astonishing for a region of our size. We are particularly proud to participate in this operation with our allies and friends, and excited to be a part of a new independent coalition. To commemorate this operation, Vibonia shall be flying the pennant flag for the duration of the operation.

After two days of occupation, Operation Open Gate has reached 155 endorsements, marking it as the largest offensive raid of the year and the largest operation conducted by independent regions to date. Vibonia is proud to have committed our entire army of 10 VDF soldiers to this operation, the highest turnout ever recorded in the VDF's history.

For a frontier with 50+ endorsements, this achievement by our brave soldiers is historic and extraordinary. We may not be as strong or numerous as other regions in the coalition, but we make up for it with dedication to our allies and partners. When you call, we will answer.

Treaty of the Verdant Spring between Vibonia and The Wellspring

Vibonia and The Wellspring are excited to announce that we have ratified the Treaty of the Verdant Spring. Our two regions have had a long history of friendly relations dating back to our time together in FOCUS, and recently successful collaborations in culture and technology have elevated that friendship. We hope that this treaty will bring our two communities closer, and look forward to working together in various fields as allies.

Treaty of the Verdant Spring

The Wellspring and Vibonia, hereafter referred to as “the signatories”;

Recognising the historic bonds of friendship between their communities;

Celebrating their recent accomplishments in cultural and technological cooperation;

Wishing to strengthen their special relationship and move forward together into a new era as steadfast allies;

Hereby agree as follows:

Article I. Mutual Recognition

1. The Wellspring recognises Vibonia and its legitimate government, represented by the President, as determined by the Constitution of Vibonia. The Wellspring will not recognise any WA Delegacy or Presidency not held in accordance with the laws of Vibonia.

2. Vibonia recognises The Wellspring and its legitimate government, represented by the Archdruid, as determined by the Charter of The Wellspring. Vibonia will not recognise any WA Delegacy or Archdruid office not held in accordance with the laws of The Wellspring.

3. The signatories will preserve their existing on-site and off-site embassies with each other, and endeavour to maintain regular communication on regional happenings and other affairs of common interest.

Article II. Non-Aggression

1. Vibonia and The Wellspring recognise each other’s sovereignty over their respective home regions and territories, and shall not engage in military hostilities against one another. Participation by the signatories on opposite sides of a military engagement that does not constitute an attack on either signatory’s home region or territories will not be considered military hostilities against one another.

2. The signatories shall not engage in or enable any acts of espionage, sabotage, or subversion against each other.

Article III. Intelligence Sharing

1. If a signatory discovers pertinent information regarding a potential threat to the other’s sovereignty or security, said signatory will share its intelligence with the compromised signatory’s government as soon as possible. In matters not related to regional security, the signatories are encouraged to share other information when prudent.

2. The signatories will maintain the confidentiality of all information provided to them under Section 1, unless the providing signatory consents to its release.

Article IV. Cultural Partnership

1. The signatories pledge to organise joint events and festivals at least once every year.

2. The signatories will encourage cultural exchange between both communities by regularly inviting each other to cultural events and activities hosted in a signatory.

3. The cultural institutions of both signatories are encouraged to assist each other in the promotion of mutual cultural exchange by sharing knowledge and working together whenever appropriate.

Article V. Technological Cooperation

1. The signatories agree to collaborate on technical projects to enhance the experience of their communities and improve the infrastructure of their home regions.

2. The signatories will maintain a channel for public interregional communication in their respective Discord servers.

3. The signatories will work together to help maintain any shared technology and rectify any technical errors encountered during its use.

Article VI. World Assembly Collaboration

1. Each signatory will endeavour to support and vote in favour of any resolutions authored by members of the other signatory, unless such support conflicts with other diplomatic commitments or interests of said signatory. In that case, the affected signatory will notify the other with an explanation.

2. Government offices responsible for World Assembly Affairs in both signatories are encouraged to collaborate on authorship of WA resolutions, discussion or drafting of proposals, and training of new WA authors where practicable.

Article VII. General Provisions

1. This treaty will come into effect upon its ratification by the signatories in accordance with their respective laws.

2. This treaty may be amended by mutual agreement of both signatories as long as proposed amendments are duly ratified by the signatories in accordance with their respective laws.

3. The signatories agree to exhaust all available options at a diplomatic resolution before terminating this treaty.

4. Either signatory will endeavour to give a week’s notice to the other signatory before withdrawing.

VDF REPORT - FOREIGN OPERATION - 23/09/25

The clock tolled quietly in the background as the Vibonian Defence Force High Command gathered around a table. They had just been sent a telegram from some old friends, informing them of some pesky raiders who had just popped up again.
Unanimously, they decided to quickly dispatch the returning raiders, and sent their response.

Four rode out upon their horses that night, to put an end to those who dared to invade an innocent region.

Addition of 8 Bit Land to the Retaliatory Recruitment List

In the early morning of October 21st, 2025, Vibonia was mass targeted by a recruitment telegram from the Governor nation of 8 Bit Land with a "tag:wa" address. We consider this to be an act of poaching from our region and a violation of our recruitment policy, which is unacceptable. In accordance with Executive Order No. 4: Retaliatory Recruitment Policy, 8 Bit Land is hereby placed on our retaliatory recruitment list, with the following measures activated:

2. The retaliatory measures include but are not limited to:
a) Sending recruitment telegrams via API scripts that target nations moving into the region;
b) Conducting recurrent stamp-based recruitment campaigns targeting all nations in the region.
3. Vibonia may take additional diplomatic measures to retaliate against prohibited recruitment as necessary.

The retaliatory measures will be conducted until we deem it satisfactory to end them.

Operation Tripletap | Vibonian Defense Force

In the dead of night with only the warm light of candles on her desk for company, Consul Nutmeg was reading through her letters. Placed on top of the pile was a telegram from the President, informing her of a raider infiltration operation that needed to be swiftly put down.

Rising quickly from her table, she rushed to the bell tower that rose high above Vibonia, and rang the bells that jostled the brave soldiers of the VDF awake. With remarkable discipline and speed, they got out of their beds and mounted their horses. Soon they were assembling outside the walls of Arselia, the plumes of their helms flapping in the wind. Swords and lances glistening in the moonlight, they joined the swelling ranks of their Independent allies, all marching with a singular purpose.

With a mighty charge, they broke through the defenses, toppling another failed raider hold and sending Kantrias's pitiful garrison back to their decrepit region. Arselia itself was locked down by the victorious Independent coalition, its tarnished past now buried forever.

At the end of the operation, Consul Nutmeg gave a speech to her victorious soldiers:

Statement of Détente Between Vibonia and Talonia

Over the last two days, Vibonia and Talonia have entered into diplomatic talks regarding a potential détente and restoration of relations, with fruitful and productive results. Now, our regions wish to announce those results to the world.

Vibonia and Talonia previously enjoyed cordial relations for about a month in March this year, before a subsequent dispute over frontierism in April, during Vibonia’s injunction vote, led to the deterioration of relations and closure of gameside embassies. Both regions then stopped diplomatic contact with each other following that public fallout.

However, the circumstances have radically changed since then, and so has Vibonia’s foreign policy. In the aftermath of Lonia Kreptia Llor, Vibonia decided to exit FOCUS in June and repudiate its adherence to frontierism, switching its alignment to Independent and allying with other Independent regions. Both regions have also started to attend joint military operations led by the Plains of Perdition and their allies together, despite having no formal relations.

Recognising the fact that the largest differences in our foreign policies have been removed, and that Vibonia and Talonia are now joint military partners in Independent operations, both parties have agreed to the following terms:

• The April 2025 dispute is considered to be officially closed;
• A restoration of gameside embassies;
• Mutual exclusion of each other from new WA join recruitment;
• Further cooperation in military affairs and other fields of mutual interest in the future.

We hope that this rapprochement will lead to a new era of amicable relations and constructive collaboration between both regions.

Statement on the Annexation of Crimson Spire

Vibonia is pleased to announce that we have successfully annexed Crimson Spire as a territory of ours on November 12th’s minor update—the first annexation ever recorded between two sovereign frontiers, and the second annexation to happen. Both regions have enjoyed a history of friendly relations and inter-migration between each other in the past, and the advent of the Annexation feature provided an opportunity for our two communities to be joined in a perpetual union. A treaty of annexation was negotiated and ratified by both parties on October 28th, and in accordance with the terms of this treaty, Crimson Spire’s onsite and offsite holdings will now be transferred to Vibonian control for safekeeping. All former Crimson Spire residents will be integrated as new Vibonians, or leave to join another region if they wish.

The governments of Vibonia and Crimson Spire, in view of the ancient bonds of friendship and intermigration between their respective regions, wishing to promote the liberty and prosperity of both communities, and convinced that such goals can be best attained by the incorporation of Crimson Spire and its territories into Vibonia as an integral part thereof and under its sovereignty, have resolved to conclude a treaty of annexation, and have for that purpose appointed their respective Plenipotentiaries, conferred with full powers and authority to achieve such an objective:

Picairn, President of Vibonia; The New Ganges, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vibonia; and The Maltese Commune, Consul of the Vibonian Defense Force.

Delmond, Delegate of Crimson Spire; and Sir Zanny, Internal Security Officer of Crimson Spire.

Who, upon mutual deliberation, have agreed to the following terms.

Article I. Cession of Sovereignty

1. Crimson Spire hereby cedes wholly and permanently to Vibonia all rights of sovereignty over the region, its territories (if any) and its offsite properties. Crimson Spire and its territories will be formally annexed into Vibonia under the name Territory of Crimson Spire and territories thereof, with its Frontier status converted to Stronghold at the earliest opportunity and its ownership transferred to a governor appointed by the President of Vibonia.

2. All offsite properties of Crimson Spire will be archived and held in trust by members of the Vibonian moderation team.

Article II. Administration of Crimson Spire

1. Crimson Spire and its territories will be administered by a governor appointed by the President of Vibonia, who will assume all of Crimson Spire’s former government, holdings and responsibilities.

2. The governor will only act in accordance with the Constitution and other regional laws of Vibonia.

3. The governor will ensure the security of Crimson Spire and its territories, taking all available measures to prevent them from falling under foreign control.

Article III. Rights of the People of Crimson Spire

1. Members of Crimson Spire’s offsite properties will be encouraged to migrate to Vibonia’s Discord server.

2. All residents in Crimson Spire shall be conferred Vibonian residency upon their registration with the Vibonian Speaker’s Office.

3. All citizens in Crimson Spire shall be conferred Vibonian citizenship upon their application to the Vibonian Speaker’s Office, subject to its legal procedures.

4. All Crimson Spire residents have the right to freedom of migration, guaranteed and protected by the government of Vibonia. Any inhabitant of Crimson Spire who does not wish to join Vibonia may leave freely.

5. Upon being conferred Vibonian residency or citizenship, Crimson Spire’s inhabitants shall enjoy the same rights and privileges as other Vibonian residents or citizens, subject to the authority of Vibonian law.

6. The government of Vibonia will take concrete measures to integrate the Crimson Spire community into the Vibonian one.

Article IV. Ratification and Effect

1. This treaty will come into force on the date of its ratification by the respective governmental bodies of Vibonia and Crimson Spire, in accordance with their regional laws.

2. When the treaty goes into effect, both regions will initiate the gameside mechanism for annexation.

3. Vibonia will ensure that the annexation process is completed without interruption, and that Crimson Spire will remain under Vibonian control.

4. Upon the completion of the annexation process, the Crimson Spire government will be automatically dissolved and all of its onsite and offsite properties will be transferred to Vibonia.

In witness whereof, the respective Plenipotentiaries have signed the above Articles.

Our governmental system as defined by our Constitution and laws will not be affected. The Vibonian government will integrate former Crimson Spire residents into our community as Vibonians, and the region itself will be held by a Vibonian governor.

My dear Vibonians, friends, and allies,

Yesterday, Vibonia reached 100 endorsements, a remarkable milestone in our history and a reflection of the titanic efforts by our citizens and residents in their tireless service to this great region.

More than two years ago, on June 10th, 2023, a close-knit group of friends founded a region centered around “vibing”—a fun, inclusive little community, where people can hang out and enjoy themselves—and named it “Vibonia”. It was a bold experiment in community building, one that some of our founders were uncertain whether it would take off. None of them, however, could have predicted that this quiet little corner of the world would have grown into one of the leading frontiers of NationStates.

Two years since our founding and transition to Frontier status, Vibonia has been thoroughly transformed under the guiding hands of our government. Where many regions have failed and withered, ours has flourished. Where many regions have imploded from internal and external crises, ours has pushed through and emerged stronger than ever. We now possess the most active offsite community of all frontiers (by Discord messages), a strong military, an expanding foreign affairs network, a highly engaged civic culture, a solid foundation of regional infrastructure, and a rapidly growing number of WA endorsements. Our success can be attributed to the enthusiastic citizens and residents who have made numerous contributions to Vibonia’s development, and to the capable leaders who have led them through crises and hardship to unprecedented heights.

Step by step, we worked strenuously to build Vibonia into what it is today. At home, the Ministry of Public Affairs labours quietly behind the scenes to bring fresh recruits to Vibonia, while the Ministry of Cultural Affairs organises regular events and game nights to keep the community spirit lively and strong. Abroad, we have cooperated closely with our newfound allies and became a part of the emerging Independent movement in Gameplay, in a highly successful example of our foreign policy realignment. Likewise, our collaboration in other cultural and technological fields has been a resounding triumph, with our regional infrastructure and cross-cultural links more developed than ever before. The 100 endorsement number is a testament to our upgraded WADP technology, and the efforts of those who are recruiting for Vibonia.

But this milestone is not the end of our history. Rather, it is the beginning of a new chapter. With newfound strength, Vibonia can now commit to a stronger, more direct presence in the World Assembly and the Gameplay arena. We reaffirm our bonds to our allies and partners, and look forward to continuing our cooperation on projects of mutual interest.

In just two months, our endorsement levels doubled from the low 50s to 100, surpassing all expectations. Not only did we achieve a memorable milestone, but we also did it far ahead of schedule. To every resident and citizen who has contributed to Vibonia, from the hard-working Ministers at the top to the lowest resident who gave their endorsement, thank you. You have made all of this possible.
