It's a very individual experience. How someone feels about it depends on their life. A lot of adult problems can be probably avoided if you don't plan on starting your own family, life a more isolated lifestyle overall and have financial stability. I don't know myself because I'm still very young but I feel like my life is more chill and peaceful now than it was when I was a kid.

Cats in a shop, you say? Now that’s a proper twist — we don’t get that in our corner shops, just a bloke behind the till and maybe a dodgy meal deal.

Can’t lie, I reckon that’s a bit over the top, mate — being a kid weren’t some prison camp, it was just your mum telling you to tidy your room and teachers giving you grief. You still had trips to the corner shop, mucking about with your mates, and none of the stress that comes with being grown up. Adulthood’s decent, sure, but you can’t tell me you don’t sometimes miss the easy bits.

Oh, no doubt. As I said, in most cases. Some kids do have to sadly grow up fast because they’re in terrible situations.

A balancing act is also good. I think that’s why I live my adult life with smatterings here and there of things that could be considered childish. There’s a certain level of comfort in that. I deal with terrible things in a hospital setting but my computer setup is pink and decorated with Totoro and mushrooms.

It’s however good that your adult experience is better than when you were younger. At least now you have way more control over your actions and needs.
