Remind me, who won the Great War again?

Oh, right, yes, it was the democratic west, while all the authoritarian monarchies of Europe collapsed under the strain of war.

It turns out that the sort of vibrant, dynamic economics and societies that liberal-democratic governments create are really good at this whole war thing, actually.

This was before the media embraced social liberalism in the West (in WWI they acted as pro-war propaganda machines, even demonizing Germans and others as ethnic others). Since Vietnam, the western media will align with protestors, dissidents, and other disloyal elements should the casualty levels on a major war exceed what is considered acceptable.

Hence structurally, as currently structured, western democracies cannot institutionally support a large scale war or even a limited intervention against a peer adversary like Russia.

The combination of sacrificing soldiers in a proxy state (backed by Western arms and money) is the near-maximalist iteration of current NATO military power. They literally don’t have the political tools to prosecute anything larger. Their own citizens would march against their own capitals (and once body bags return, the media would side with the dissent).

So you can see for yourself that the Russian "security concerns" about NATO aggression are complete bullshit, an utterly transparent lie.
Because while that is true for wars of aggression, that will change as soon as the Guards Murderous Rapists are marauding through the territory of said western democracy.
A society in which everyone has a stake will always have more support, consider the usual complaints by the confederates "We didn't have the manpower, wah!" Yes, you did, you moron, it's your fault that a third of that manpower would gladly have turned their rifles on you.

So how are the pro-Ukraine pro-Israel accounts on social media going to reconcile this? If that toady Visegrad24 is anything to go by, a not-too insignificant amount of will just drop Ukraine in a heartbeat.

wit notice, however they will insist at shout nonsense. you lose to them when you dare at these, as aim of nowadays “braish wash show” has always been to seize the room of public discussion.

habit for such to get tolerated when whisperer is european and american lobbysm into helm of economic trusts, so that public conveniently got used to when more griss russian chinese state media step in.

more gross still the same. narrative of anti-democratic parties at home is of same nature and origin.

may tell it why it tends to spread like knife in butter, so that we should refute pollution intentionally spread by part of social medias with same toughness we incited to do when it comes to foreigner entities.

and of course it stays undeniably true that russian conquest sides with allied ethnic clease in palestine, in both concept and practice. this to come as different when confronted with wars of past century.

the two factions, whose forberarer’s classes often represented as bourgeoise and inherited landowners, seized rule alternatively in nations of the era, to induce states of early ‘800 to swing allegiances.

so what I propose is we can use similar lens here, limited at institutional issue of course. certainly, factions nowadays who move events can incidently behave for the opposite in distinct scenarios.

still, necessary solution is political. we convened it embraces both atlantist and ruskie, shared bonds.

plenty of indiscrections sweeps throught european common press this morning, I wonder how american press usually comes later. however, it stays suggested it to be catastrophic beyond all dark previews.

the alaska accord is to prove cornerstone to open, rather desperate, second phase of this blurry lenghty war of aquisitions. cabinet fogures across europe confirm half-mouthed, so for me it stays true.

that is not russia ukraine partition, of its preciously sought after resources to be agreed upon, alone. sets bridges for partition of greater north immense resources over the table, at demise of europeans.

after alaska, harsh phase haunts democracies. way of tempered democracies comes close at end, and we will need to fight alone. we have no army, neither a side anymore. blow to be struck terribly for us.

maybe conflict in front of these resurgent empires is not to cease entirely to be fought with military, just into form of rebellion. when dispersed, we should individually never surrender. death to tyrants.

Across countless centuries I have seen civilizations manifest and crumble. Truly, none last. Arrogant empires, everyone content on their belief that only they merit a place among these stars. Dogs chasing conquest, glory… even faith! I had seen servants of entropy existing only to spread their malice from one galaxy to the next. Merciless agents of disorder, committed to the annihilation of all they once stood for. Seekers of depravity and forces of crude savagery. I watched the beleaguered populations of dying planets struggle tirelessly in the futile pursuit of betterment or prosperity or… survival! And yet, no matter how fleeting their existence, I welcome all… to a place in my carefully curated collection!

Protection of Civilians in Armed Conflict — July 2025
Summary

• With at least 1,674 civilian casualties (286 killed; 1,388 injured), the number of civilian casualties continued to rise in July, setting a new record for monthly overall casualties since May 2022. In July 2025, 22.5 per cent more civilians were killed or injured than in July 2024.

• The increase in the number of civilian casualties between June and July 2025 mainly took place in areas controlled by the Government of Ukraine along the frontline, reflecting intensive military efforts by Russian armed forces to capture territory. Aerial bombs dropped by Russian armed forces accounted for the largest increase in civilian casualties with 276 casualties (67 killed; 209 injured) in July 2025 compared with 114 (34 killed; 80 injured) in June 2025.

• While the number of casualties from long-range strikes with missiles and loitering munitions decreased by about 20 per cent in July compared with June 2025, they continued to pose a significant threat to civilians, causing almost 40 per cent of all civilian casualties, including in urban centres such as Kyiv, Dnipro and Kharkiv.

• Short-range drones were the second leading cause of civilian casualties, after long-range weapons, accounting for 24 per cent of the casualties (64 killed; 337 injured).

• Like in previous month, the vast majority of civilian casualties (98 per cent) occurred in areas controlled by the Government of Ukraine. Civilian casualties were recorded across 18 regions of Ukraine and the city of Kyiv.

What an incredibly silly post.
We won the Great War because the Royal Navy's dominance of the seas (a power itself derived from operating a global empire and being the foremost industrial power of the 19th century because we industrialised first, not "vibrant societies") physically isolated the German economy from the rest of the world, preventing them from importing much of anything, which had serious knock-on effects for their industries and their ability to develop crucial military technologies (pre-war, the Germans were breaking aviation records quite frequently, but that nosedives as the war begins, whereas British aircraft developments keeps on going), and by contrast Britain and France could import as much as we needed. It even extended to food; by the end of the war going on for half a million Germans had died from starvation or disease as a result of the blockade, and their army rations suffered commensurately.

Secondly, Germany's two biggest allies were both institutional disaster areas. The Ottomans had been in decline for a century, and Austria-Hungary was a labyrinthine mess which had constitutionally enshrined equality of nationalities and languages, which is anathema to the kind of centralisation and national unity which are essential for strong state institutions. A very "vibrant society", no doubt, and also utterly useless at waging war. By contrast, Germany's state institutions were world-leading. Utterly illiberal, and yet highly effective.

Ironically it was being a liberal democracy that was one of Britain's greatest weaknesses during the war, in the form of a Mr Lloyd-George doing his level best to sabotage my main man Douglas Haig. And as for the French army, it literally mutinied.

One curious contradiction in this story is that the BBC report claims "At night the lights are turned out and they work in the dark" (itself a fairly ridiculous claim, apparently the lights are turned on during the day but disabled once they become necessary? The Russian construction companies just don't want their buildings finished?), but an earlier report by DailyNK (an anti-North Korea news outlet funded by the US), whose claimed photo of a North Korean labourer in Russia the BBC uses in this article, wrote that "They often have to light the site after dark so they can work until 2 or 3 in the morning to keep up with a tight construction schedule", which would make rather more sense.

New Group of Ukrainian Children Freed from Russian Occupation, Says Presidential Office (United24 Media)
By Dariia Mykhailenko

Ukraine has returned another group of children from Russian-occupied territory as part of the Bring Kids Back UA initiative.

This was announced by Head of the Office of the President Andriy Yermak via Telegram on August 13.

Yermak said the group includes a boy whose mother was killed and whose father lost both legs in a drone strike. It also includes a sister and two brothers whose guardians were threatened with having the children taken away for refusing Russian documents.

Among them are teenagers who defiantly sang the banned Ukrainian anthem while attending a Russian school. There is also a family that lived on a mined street under constant threat of death.

Some of the children have now been reunited with their parents after almost three years of separation.

“I thank Save Ukraine and all partners for helping bring the children home. We are carrying out the President’s mission—to return every child,” Yermak said.

Earlier, Ukrainian law enforcement completed its investigation into the abduction of children by Russian occupation forces from the Novopetrivka Special School in the Mykolaiv region. The collected evidence will be presented in cases before Ukrainian courts as well as international judicial bodies.
Tens of thousands remain in Russian captivity.

I said this before in an old post. Now I will repeat I knew Iran providing free drones to Russia was a bad idea. They made Ukraine mad at them and got nothing in return from Russia who instead insult them by recognizing the Al Qaeda Taliban government in Afghanistan. Iran should cut ties with Russia, apologize for sending them drones and Ukraine should cut ties with the Zionist entity and apologize for cooperating with them.

Germany and allies to send major military aid package to Ukraine using new NATO supply line

In a better world, Europe would already be independent from America on matters of defense. Right now, these schemes (that still involve USA) look cobbled up from scratch and desperate. Still better than nothing for Ukraine, but the continent had more than 3 years to adapt to their new reality.
