“……which brings us to our final item of the night; tensions between Illa Nublar and Irla Sorna continued to rise after a prominent Illan politician described Irla X as ‘resoundingly mid’ before going on to say ‘get our name in your mouth again and I’ll smack you right in the job you right twat!’ after a prominent Irlan celebrity said Illa will ‘always be the biggest loser cause y’all got TWO Ls!”

This is the latest in a…very long line of minor aggressions between the sister islands, some say the sibling rivalry started the moment the first Cardenaoans arrived.

Fortunately, the majority of provocations are responded to with more insults; only twice before has conflict actually broken out between the two islands, leading to three deaths over the years.

While this latest revival of Cardenao’s favorite rivalry will likely end as it always does, with both sides backing down and calling the other cowardly, a recent rise in chest thumping has locals carefully monitoring the situation.

The time in New Cardonia is 5:31 and I’m Missy LeCrown.”

“Hear that Big Red? Guess you and I are getting after it!”

“Hah, typical Irlan: first ones to chat shit, first ones to get banged.”

For Alabaster Red, defensive star for the Blue and Golds, and Yaw Betty, backup QB extraordinaire, they’d lived this rivalry their whole lives. Fortunately for the pair of them, they were well enough adjusted to not let this petty, goofy clash dominate their personalities or turn them into fools foaming at the mouth demanding to launch missiles at the other, if only we had the missiles to do so dammit! For there were those types, rare and far between but becoming noisier as the days marched bye, but they were still on the fringe. For regular folks like Big Red and Yaw Beatty, this was just the source of some fun…though fuck the other island, for sure.

A little bit of shit talking between friends never hurt, but when Yaw Betty slapped Alabaster on the back, it felt anything other than friendly. Everyone was feeling the pressure these days as the World Bowl team tried to get things off to a hot start, and that feeling was definitely amplified for these two island boys. Like Missy said on the news, these things basically always ended as a nothing burger; hopefully they’d follow the script once again.

Team Culture: The Banijans are also well known to be physical, and yet clean, players. While they usually are fairly clean(definitely commit penalties but nothing outwardly dirty, like intentionally injuring players or something), Banijan gridiron culture is extremely proud, and therefore, Banijans are elite smack talkers. They'll talk smack, they'll taunt both opponents and opposing fans, and they'll run up the score, if they are capable. They have a play without fear mentality, and a play to the end mentality- lots of these dudes, stars in their own right, biggest challenge is integrating into a team where they are not at the center. Another challenge, of course, is that both collegiate and professional gridiron rivalries run deep- which can make coming together at the national team level much more difficult in this sport, than it is for Banijan athletes in other sports.

Those challenges can make success difficult at the national team level, as many believe Thomas Hall has 'the toughest job in all of gridiron', to ensure that everybody buys into the common goal, and forgets about themselves as individuals to ensure that they can indeed make this sum greater than the whole of its parts. They've won two titles now- and reeling this team in is going to be the coach's biggest challenge. That said- he's clearly instilled a championship culture in the squad, and we've all seen the ridiculous amounts of success they've had under the Ranorian.

This is a team that expects to win every single game they play- with respect for their opponents, of course- and would never consider themselves an underdog. The 4 tournament run from WB 44-47(2 world titles, 3 Final appearances, and even 15 wins on the bounce at WB 47) was clearly insane. After a dropoff at WB 48, they captured the magic back at WB 49- winning their first 12 games of the tournament before finally falling in the Final. Despite being thrown into a group of death, with the final being on home soil, there was hope that they'd get title #3 in Busukuma.

That, unfortunately, did not happen. While they got third place, they mostly sputtered to that finish- and most agree that, if they weren't playing at home, that last cycle would have been a QF exit at best, if not a Ro16 exit. Unhappy, they are looking to put last cycle behind them, and launch a new attack for a third world championship.

Fan Culture Culture: Banijan fan culture around gridiron embodies some of that of the players. People love to talk smack, and therefore, fans are like that as well. Banijan fans are known as arrogant and proud, and they will show up in droves, in any city, wherever it is, to take over local bars and support their team, even without tickets. Casinos tend to love Banijan gridiron fans, as they willing to put their money where their mouth is, and bet large sums of money on Banijan gridiron.. Expect Banijans, both with and without tickets, to show up in big numbers, across the multiverse, for any Banijan away games- and to create loud environments for their home games, both during the group stages, and hopefully, during the knockouts.

Official Depth Chart for World Bowl LI

The rosters is drawn both from the Gridiron Football League of Banija(GFLB), our NSCF teams, foreign NSCF teams, foreign pro leagues, and other Banijan college teams.

Starters are underlined. Players who are receiving their first national team call-up are italicized. Listed in the order of the depth chart. Players on the practice squad are listed as such.

Offense

Quarterbacks
Kadesh Odika. #2. 28 years old. Starter for the Istria Black Mambas in the GFLB. Felswyr State University Alumnus. Captain.
Baka Webo. #12. 34 years old. Starter for the Herzegovina City Cobras in the GFLB. Alumnus of Wild Valley University.
Baayo Sabadaey. #7. 38 years old. Starter for the Duntho Oilers in the GFLB. Alumnus of Thabiso University

The Serpent Eagles are known for having elite QB play- and that continues here at this World Bowl. From Isaka Jawara, to Ice Chineze- who was setting offensive records the way he was torching every defense between here and Timbuktu. With Ebou Hairte as the starter for just one cycle only, at World Bowl 47, Baka Webo was the starter at World Bowl 48- and then the reigns were finally turned over to the most hyped Banijan NT prospect probably ever- and that's a strong term, considering the absolute ridiculous pipeline of dudes they've had at the sports' most important position.

WHy didn't Odika start at World Bowl 48? Well, he had suffered an ACL injury in training camp ahead of it- leaving Baka Webo as the starter. Webo filled in admirably, of course- offense wasn't the reason they exited in the Quarterfinals. But Odika is the man who can reach the standard set by the greats before him- flashes of Jawara, flashes of Ice Chineze, and just a winner by all meanings of the word. And in his first cycle as a starter, he did more than impress- he shredded basically everybody in front of him. The Banijans went 9-0 in group play, powered by the QB at the helm of the #1 offense in the tournament. He continued his success into the knockout stages, bringing them all the way to the Final, where Cardenao beat them in the title game(and for the fourth time in the last two editions). Odika's coming back with a fire in his belly, and with a simple message- championship or bust.

Behind him, Webo is a more than capable backup, and if he needs to play a game or two, there is not going to be much of a dropoff from starter to backup. The third string, of course, is somebody who really isn't going to get any snaps- Sabadaey was picked to be the team's QB3 because of his skills in the film room, and as a locker room guy, as opposed to on the field. There probably isn't anyone who would describe him as the third best Banijan QB out there- but with two studs at the position, the coaching staff was all about using this role to help build team culture- probably a smart move, although if the injuries get catastrophic enough where the team is putting in their QB3, they might be in some serious shit.

Halfbacks
Joshua Okombo. #21. 27 years old. Fresh graduate of the Islamic University of Busoga in the NSCF. Plays for the Istria Black Mambas in the GFLB.
Balinda Kisero. #24. 28 years old. Fresh graduate of Northern Moravica University. Plays for the Herzegovina City Cobras in the GFLB.
Isaga Duhaga. #20. 30 years old. Graduate of Staramara Tech University in the NSCF. Plays for the Sisonke Leopards in the GFLB.
Alain Sidibé. #23. 23 years old. Graduate of the University of Aksum. Plays for the Duntho Oilers in the GFLB.

Zamandi Ayana was the exact type of back that Thomas Hall will fall in love with. Big, strong, powerful, he's an absolute terror to try and tackle. Dude runs a near 4.4 40 at his size and speed? An absolute monster. While his pass-catching skills could use some work, he's an all-yardage situation back to hand the ball off to, as well as an excellent pass blocker. He's seen it all, done it all- RFL champion, RFL MVP, the whole 9 yards. But, Father Time is undefeated, and 36 years old is simply too old to be a starting HB at this level- no matter what your talent is. While a spot at the bottom of the depth chart was available, he didn't want on the roster unless he was the bellcow, and therefore, he and the team amicably parted ways to retire.

So to replace him, we've got the RB by committee- although Okombo, a former NSCF Player of the Year, is the clear class of this bunch. While he doesn't offer a ton as a receiver, running the ball he truly is elite- shifty, powerful, great speed, and hard to bring down at first contact, unless you wrap up clearly. And while the Istria back will be the lead back, it doesn't mean those behind him won't get carries, either. Kisero is best as a receiving HB, so expect her to be used mostly in passing situation, while Duhaga is mostly a straight up power back- so goal line and short yardage situations are his specialty.

It'll be up to the coaches to ensure that they can get the most out of a HB room that, while talented, leaves plenty of unanswered questions.

Wide Receivers.
Kasozi Batte. #11, 29 years old. 6'5, 235 pounds. Graduate of Cold Hill University. Plays for the Mukeruzi Hyenas in the GFLB. Olympic gold medalist sprinter(won gold in the men's 200m at the XVII Summer Olympiad). Also serves as the team chaplain.
Godwin Tamuka. #81, 27 years old. 6'4, 214 pounds. 4.44 40 yard dash. Graduate of the Islamic University of Busoga. Plays for the Istria Black Mambas in the GFLB.
Bamara Taje. #17, 32 years old. 5'10, 189 pounds. Graduate of South Kitara University. Plays for the Duntho Oilers in the GFLB. Slot receiver.
Damba Kyaluzi. #6, 25 years old. 6'0, 205 pounds. Plays for Bunyoro RSC in the GFLB.
Essa Kayode. #84, 33 years old. 6'4, 207 pounds. Graduate of Felswyr State University. Plays for the Sisonke Leopards in the GFLB.
Samo Sarr. #10, 30 years old. 6'4, 211 pounds. Fresh graduate of Mar Sara Tech University in the NSCF.

Last time out, there was a lot of questions about Banija's inexperienced WR room- 5 of the 6 players in the room, making a debut with a QB who was starting at a World Bowl for the first time. The concerns, needless to say, were overblown- the Banijan O played at its usual blistering level, as a combination of skilled HBs, plus an elite passing game, allowed them to move the ball at will. Despite basically running it back, the offense took a big step back at World Bowl L- something was off. Despite everybody being relatively healthy, they were not the juggernaut many expected.

They are mostly running it back- Batte, obviously the WR1. But Tamuka is moved up the depth chart, as he's a starter. Samo Sarr and Kyaluzi should both get a decent amount of snaps as well, off the bench, as Thomas Hall tries to ensure the smoothest possible connection between Odika and his WRs. This team isn't going to win anything without overwhelming dominance on the offensive side of the football, and this position group will be critical in ensuring that they get there.

Tight Ends.
Kulubo Secka. #86, 28 years old. Blocking Tight End. Plays for the Sisonke Leopards in the GFLB. Graduate of the Islamic University of Busoga.
Mugisa Mbuzimulanga.#81, 32 years old. Jack of all Trades Tight End. Graduate of Loyola-Istria. Plays for the Mar Sara Night Elves in the GFLB.
Waloga Ssebalijja. #80, 35 years old. Blocking Tight End. Plays for the Herzegovina City Cobras in the GFLB. Graduate of Central Kitara University.

Not much changing around here. With so much talent at the WR positions, there simply is not going to be a lot of opportunity for these guys to see a lot of the ball, so expect to see them on the field in mostly running formations. Their biggest role will be run blocking, with some pass blocking, and honestly, minimal targets. But, with the HBs probably going down a notch, expect them to be used more in red zone situations- a tremendous opportuity for the TEs on this roster to rack up touchdowns.

Left Tackle.
Karwana Kakaddé. #65, 29 years old. 6'3, 300 pounds. 3 year starter at NMU in the NSCF. Plays for the Mynda Gorillas in the GFLB. First cycle as the starter.
Ôskâr dí Rívânká. #69, 39 years old. 6'6, 301 pounds. 3 year starter at NMU in the NSCF. Farf/Banijan dual-national(Rulandese). Plays for the Istria Black Mambas in the GFLB.

Left Guard.
Melo Sawelo. #60, 25 years old. 6'6, 311 pounds. Graduate of Felswyr State University. Second WB as a starter.
Wandy Sene. #64, 36 years old. 6'2, 310 pounds. Plays for Busukuma AC in the GFLB. Fifth World Bowl. former starter at Northern Moravica.

Center.
Ewe Owiti. #57. 37 years old. 6'2, 294 pounds. Female. Sixth World Bowl. Two year starter at Loyola-Istria in the NSCF. Plays for the Aissa Crocodiles in the GFLB. Third WB as a starter.
Nkunda Ndegeya. #50. 30 years old. 6'4, 301 pounds. Two year starter for Loyola-Istria in the NSCF. Plays for the Lwanga Rhinos in the GFLB.

Right Guard.
Kassa Essayas. #68. 36 years old. 6'5, 309 pounds. Three year starter for Felswyr State(two-time NSCF champion). 6th World Bowl as a starter. Plays for Umbazi Metropolitan SC in the GFLB. Captain.
Kayonga Kyanda. #61. 25 years old. Plays for the St. Jakob Honey Badgers in the GFLB. Graduate of Sarr University. First WB.

Right Tackle.
Ikuru Bayongo. #65, 28 years old. Graduate of Staramara Tech University in the NSCF. Plays for Bunyoro RSC in the GFLB. Second World Bowl as a starter.
Samo Coybari. #71, 26 years old. Two year starter for NMU in the NSCF. Plays for the Bwubanza Ostriches in the GFLB. Second World Bowl.

The offensive line construction this year is... Interesting. Easily the oldest position group on the team- maybe a questionable decision on a grouping that was probably the offense's biggest weakness last cycle. Returning the entire grouping, getting younger only at LT. Many have criticized Coach Hall for this decision- but he was emphatically defensive of his choice. "This is a group that has worked together, and most importantly, have an axe to grind- we are capable of having one of the very top offenses in this competition, and we're gonna make that happen no matter what."

Defense 3-3-5

Left Defensive End.
Zelotes Okoth. #91, 25 years old. Graduate of the Islamic University of Busoga. Plays for the Mar Sara Night Elves in the GFLB.
Sera Kyameze. #93, 26 years old. Graduate of Buganda State University. Plays for the Busembe Timberwolves in the GFLB.

Right Defensive End.
Karwana Kimaka. #96, 28 years old. Graduate of Felswyr State University. Plays for the Lwanga Rhinos in the GFLB.
Lallo Disora. #90, 21 years old. Graduate of Northern Moravica University.

Nose Tackle.
Faja Sohaya. #95, 30 years old. 6'4, 311 pounds. Graduate of Lesedi University. Plays for the Igulu Bush Elephants in the GFLB.
Mufri Sata. #98, 2 y1ears old. 6'6, 330 pounds. Fresh graduate of Northern Moravica University.
Muna Kusama. #99, 28 years old. 6'4, 300 pounds. Graduate of Kabakono University. Starter for the Rukunbi Wizards in the GFLB.

The interesting thing about a national team, is that it is not like a club team- where you can plug and play free agents. Sometimes, you've got to play what your talent demands you to play- and the lack of depth at the DT position in the GFLB means that the Banijans are almost forced to play in a 3-3-5 base set, as opposed to a base 4-2-5, like Hall prefers. While the HC isn't complaining, there are criticisms of the league's 'lack of physicality' that these guys are sure to try to disprove. The DT position is weak but the defensive ends here are good- the big question is can they hold up in the running game against the best rushing attacks?

Left Outside Linebacker. (Typically a pash rusher in passing situations- both players at this position are EDGE guys)
Karilisa Sentambaazi. #55, 29 years old. Starter for the Bwubanza Ostriches in the GFLB. Graduate of Loyola-Istria.
Garai Mudzuri.. #41, 22 years old. Starter for the Herzegovina City Cobras in the GFLB.

Middle Linebacker.
Lucius Agot. #57, 30 years old. Graduate of Staramara Tech University. Plays for the St. Jakob Honey Badgers in the GFLB. Captain.
Zesiro Wattiti. #56, 25 years old. Fresh graduate of Raynor University in the NSCF.
Bango Uster. #47, 35 years old. Starter for the Duntho Oilers in the GFLB.

Strong Side Outside Linebacker. (Usually drops into coverage in passing situations)
Batte Nteza. #40, 23 years old. Just finished his redshirt senior year at Staramara Tech, after 3 years in the BCSG.
Biji Gaa. #52, 26 years old. Starter for the Mynda Gorillas in the GFLB. Graduate of the University of Hangaza.

These players are firmly what you'd call 'good, but not great'. Not really much to say here- none of these guys are truly world-class at anything, but none of them are awful, either. All either average or slightly above average athletes, who are trying to make the most of this opportunity. Lucius Agot has the highest ceiling of anyone in the LB group- he's got gamebreaking ability, but frustratingly lacks the consistency of some of his predecessors. Nteza is another name to watch at this position, as well. Nteza is rangy, but only played one year of NSCF ball, as a transfer starter at Staramara Tech. Can he adjust to what it takes to be a starting linebacker as a rookie at the World Bowl? A lot is being asked of his young athlete- we'll see if he can deliver.

Cornerbacks.
Munanire Tembo. #1, 26 years old. Graduate of Richardson University. Plays for the Mar Sara Night Elves in the GFLB.
Julius Adhon. #39, 25 years old. Fresh graduate of the Islamic University of Busoga.
Samaba Nbaha. #20, 32 years old. Graduate of Ankole State. Plays for the Igulu Bush Elephants in the GFLB. Primary nickel back.
Buzwe Bogodo. #33, 22 years old. Graduate of Loyola-Istria.
Gondoi Siwangeh. #24, 25 years old. Graduate of the University of Moravica. Plays for the Mukeruzi Hyenas in the GFLB.
Balankang Kitaya. #31, 29 years old. Graduate of Kizza I College. Starter for the Sisonke Leopards in the GFLB.
Galabba Bljogo. #26, 30 years old. Graduate of Ankole Tech. Plays for Busukuma AC in the GFLB.

Strong Safety.
Tuutoo Bokate. #26, 29 years old. Starter for the Hoima Zebra in the GFLB. Graduate of Hangaza Tech.
Akuchi Obasea. #27, 23 years old. Fresh graduate of Northern Moravica University.

Free Safety.
Israel Aero. #19, 32 years old. Starter for the Igulu Bush Elephants in the GFLB. Loyola-Istria grad. Captain.
Willie Jasawahoruyah. #20, 33 years old. Starter for the Jinja City Springboks in the GFLB. University of Buganda grad.

A mandate from Thomas Hall- he thought there was a lot to build on in the secondary after Banija's defense held up their end of the bargain in last cycle's postseason, and he is doubling down. He's starting a pair of young, but ridiculously talented corners- Ttembo and Julius Adhon, who both figure to thrive in man to man coverage. A rebuild of the title teams of the not so distant past, where a defense that blitzed like crazy had the backstop of two of the best cover corners in the game. With his CBs in place, look for this defense to get aggressive- start leading in blitz rates, going all out with the extra guy to try and get pressure and force mistakes, knowing about the corners they have behind them. Remember, the head coach himself was a CB- so there's extra expectations for these guys to go ball.

While the CBs are a strength... The safeties are less of one. The safeties are OK- the high blitz rates of the Serpent Eagles means that they'll be left in man coverage, or in very deep zone defenses. Sometimes it pays dividends, but they can definitely be caught out for the big play. Regardless, they will have to go out there and make plays themselves, but they will be looking forward to the challenge. With the HC himself being a DB as a player, he's taking special interest in the position, so expect them to be coached up as well as any position group on this team.

Special Teams.

My punter is the holder for field goals, just to be clear. My punter does normal kickoffs while my kicker does onside kicks. Lastly, my kicker is my backup punter and my punter is my backup kicker, just in case you RP an injury to one.

Long Snapper
Jibou Touray. #61. 33 years old. Plays for Bunyoro RSC in the GFLB.

Kick/Punt Returner.
Bamara Taje.#17, 32 years old. 5'10, 189 pounds. Graduate of South Kitara University. Plays for the Duntho Oilers in the GFLB. Starting Slot receiver.
Gondoi Siwangeh. #24, 25 years old. Graduate of the University of Moravica. Plays for the Mukeruzi Hyenas in the GFLB. Listed as the CB5 on the depth chart.

Kicker.
Pili Kijeera. #3, 40 years old. Female. Maximum range is somewhere between 50 and 63 yards. Starter for the Igulu Bush Elephants.

Punter.
Mukisa Kkombe #2. 36 years old. Starter for Busukuma Athletic Club in the GFLB.

Nothing has changed here. Everybody's back basically- the starters at kicker, punter, long snapper, and even both returners. The Banijan special teams unit is known as dependable, but not explosive. They generally won't completely screw things up, but it's unlikely they'll go out and straight up win a game for the Banijans either.

Head Coach: Thomas Hall(Ranoria). 70 years old. The Ranorian is entering his 12th cycle as the head coach of this football team- one of the longest tenured coaching reigns by any Banijan NT coach, in any sport. The two-time world champion is a legend in this land- and he will look to build on that legacy.

After the failures of World Bowl 39, the team searched far and wide to find a coach- and their eyes landed on Ranoria. Someone who was the opposite of their old coach, Alastair Jobs. As a player, Hall was the career leader in the Ranorian Football League with 62 career interceptions. He had immediately success. The Banijan national team didn't make the knockout stages at either World Bowl 38 or 39, and it was the group stage elimination at the Istria Olympiad that got his predecessor fired. Thomas Hall, however, hit the ground running. Changing the team's focus from a spread 'em out speed team to more of a power team, he went 10-0 in the group stages of World Bowl XL, and took the Serpent Eagles to their first ever World Bowl final.

After a quarterfinal appearance at World Bowl XLI, he said it's time to revamp the team's offense. "We've got stars on the outside with Lamin Kah and Chinweuba Jelan on the outside- we can't let that go to waste." Whereas Banija has been ground and pound for the last two tournaments, expect them to lean more towards spreading around the football and lighting up the scoreboard, to take advantage of the star players they have at the skill positions on offense. However, the revamp took some time to work, with a devastating blowout elimination to Ranoria at World Bowl XLII, and a stunning first round playoff exit to South Newlandia at World Bowl XLIII.

But he recovered from that quite well. After falling in a shootout against Bongo Johnson on the opening day of World Bowl XLIV, the Serpent Eagles started winning- and they literally didn't lose again, winning 8 group stage games in a row, followed by four more in the knockout stages to bring the damn trophy home- Banija's first World Bowl. The defensive ace winning behind a high-powered offense- although the defense came up clutch in the semis and the final. Probably a decent chunk of Banijans think he could walk on water, bringing home this long awaited title. "I haven't bought a drink in a decade." Coach Hall chuckles.

The title defense was arguably even more impressive. Their top two WRs retiring, their star HB getting to age 32. Returning Ice Chineze with a stable of young, talented, but unproven WRs. And Banija did the exact same thing. They stumbled a couple of times in group play. But when it mattered most, they really got into a flow- a place where they could not be stopped. After getting lit up by South Americanastan on the road, the team played their best gridiron in the knockout stages. Three possesion wins over both TJUN-ia and Drawkland when it was one & done. A 7-6 QF win over the Dragonflies, where we out Ko-oren'd Ko-oren. And defeating Sarai Gwenderyn in the world title game, on her home soil.

It couldn't get better than that. "I haven't bought a drink in six years." He said, smirking. He wants to put Banija into the history books- a threepeat, in this sport, would do just that. He's done everything an elite coach should do. Came in, had a stud defense, revamped the style when the talent went offensive, and they were top of the world. In World Bowl XLVI, They went to their third straight World Bowl Final, in Ranoria- and lost in tragic fashion to their archrivals. And in World Bowl 47, they won 16 games on the bounce to start the tournament- before falling in the semifinals to Drawkland, by just 6 points, ahead of what would have been an unprecedented 4th consecutive World Bowl Final.

After 'only' reaching the QFs at World Bowl 48, there was a big wave of retirements- a lot of those title-winning generations making way to a new generation of players. New faces everywhere in prominent spots, especially at QB- with Kadesh Odika taking the reigns. Many thought it would be a challenge too far. But that did not happen.

Not a chance it was a challenge too far. The Banijans responded to a huge change of players by not only going 9-0 in group play, but earning the #1 seed for the playoffs, and running a murderer's row to get to the Final- defeating Ko-oren, South Newlandia, and the then defending champions, Sarzonia, to reach Hall's 5th World Bowl Final in 10 cycles. While we lost in overtime to Cardenao which meant we didn't get our third title, that means expectations for World Bowl L were sky high- with a minimum expectation of playing in Busukuma in the World Bowl Final.

Instead, they got third place- and in less than impressive fashion, struggling to a 9-5 record in the group stage. "We've got a bunch to prove in this year's tournament." Hall told reporters. "And we're gonna prove it."

Offensive Coordinator & Assistant Head Coach: Kopo Bogadi. 63 years old. This dude has been offensive coordinator for the last 7 World Bowls, where an explosive Banijan offense has powered the nation to two world titles, and two more appearances in the Final. He's comfortable in his position, and turned down the HC job for the Busoga Islands to stay here. While his normally high-powered offense took a step back, consistency wise, last cycle, Hall has kept his faith in his long-time OC- and Bogadi expects to deliver once again.

Other notable Offensive Staff: Former NSCF 14 and NSCF 17 champion, Loyola alum running back Justice Greenspan is the running backs coach. He is 63 years old. 67 year old Ugonna Chioma is the Quarterbacks Coach. 44 year old Uzoma Bolongi is the WRs Coach. 42 year old David Kobino is the OL coach. And 56 year old Mamadi Diene Jr.(the former offensive coordinator's youngest son) is the Tight Ends Coach.

Defensive Coordinator: Yet again, there's a new defensive coordinator. This has been a position that generally rotates- which makes sense, as Thomas Hall does a lot of the DC duties himself. Hall's perosnal involvement makes it hard for him to hire a DC, especially one who sticks around for a long time. GFLB veteran DC Marc Ouattara s back in the position. It's a second one cycle stint for Ouattara, who retired after World Bowl L, and yet somehow, is here for World Bowl LI. The 75 year old, despite his age, is energetic- and fits the blitz happy, man coverage persona of the HC.

Other notable defensive staff: Danoo Dejta, at 57 years old, is the LB coach. Ibou Sohna, at 49 years old, is the DL coach. And Jalang Jarl, at 65 year old, is the Defensive Backs coach.

Special Teams Coordinator/Strength & Conditioning Coach: Idi Taal. 68 years old. Third year as the ST coordinator.

Team Chaplain: Kasozi Batte, the team's WR1, is known for his preaching abilities- and will also serve as the team chaplain.

Fluffalo's Finest:
Rhine's Return Marks First Start For Embattled Passer In Nearly A Decade

Image
After years of backup gigs, Diamond Rhine's first start for the Krauts - shockingly - was a dominant affair

The Krauts have their holes - there's never been a doubt, even as returning champions. But their one, glaring Achilles heel was a lack of depth at quarterback. With Valliente Wagner-Young and Ernest Bello injured and Astrid Verona retiring, Ranoria was down two quarterbacks. And Rhine, well, he was only here for name value. No one had ever counted on him taking snaps - in fact they'd assumed it was a disaster scenario. So when Kualu Luani - after a second consecutive poor performance at quarterback - went down late in the fourth - a lot of people went nuts. There was no doubt when he went down, the knee going at that angle, he was done. Less than a half hour after the game it was confirmed.

But up 13-3, Deondre Rhine still had to quarterback the Krauts for the remaining five minutes of this game against Katzeburg. And that was a long time.

Rhine came onto the field - pupils dilated - laughing despite the circumstances - and came onto the run the clock down. Should've been a simple task with Rylan Rodgers Jr. and Ragnar Sampson taking handoffs, but the Katzeburg defense stuffed a second down handoff to force third and long. So for the first time since Bwanzuba, Deondre Rhine was to pass the ball. Third and six, pretty decent top targets.

Isaac Dieter learned pretty quickly that he probably should've just punted the ball.

Rhine took the snap, looked to big Jannik Nadine on the outside, and his already-wide eyes lit up when he saw the receiver running upfield.

His eyes lit up, and just as he went too rip the ball downfield, Nadine cut inside - as one does, feinting upfield before running the slant - but it was too late. Rhine was launching that thing downfield, and Winslow Breitbarth almost dropped himself back out of position for the interception just by getting into his drop. The ball dropped right into his outstretched arms, and all of a sudden we had a game again.

"Uh yeah, misread the coverage there," Jannik Nadine said at the presser, "Haven't practiced alot with Rhine, so we'll have to work on our chemistry a bit there."

Nice scapegoat job of course - but we all know the truth. Deondre Rhine is effectively known to have not known the playbook of his own team coming off back-to-back championship wins. To allege that he put more than the absolute barest of minimums in for a secure backup job? Heresy. The guy just decided he was launching that thing downfield.

There was a lot of concern. This isn't just a forty two year old quarterback - it's a forty two year old quarterback who's over a decade and a half removed from being good at anything besides taking care of his pet owlephant and consuming enough drugs to put down a herd of Ranorian mammoths. He crashed bombed out with the Dynamo so bad that he only lasted two more years after a two year stretch in which he won two MVPs, two championships, and only lost three games in that span. Got gifted the biggest contract in Banijan sports history just to completely tank the Bwanzuba Ostriches franchise and cause all sorts of ruckus in the city. This isn't the six foot six, two hundred sixty chiseled-from-stone quarterback who made three NSCF title games, this is a crashout who was just here to collect a paycheck on the wrong side of forty.

It cannot be stated enough - Rhine's only here because there area casuals stupid enough to tune in just in case he got in the game. He was never supposed to get on the field. A has been of the worst kind, pure talent and no work, no conscious, no accountability, just liability and bad press. That's the starting quarterback of the team that's dominated this sport for the last two decades.

Betting lines changed immedietely. No Luani? No championship hopes. The Krauts are done. Beat reporters were doomposting from practices as Rhine displayed a complete lack of interest in learning the playbook and threw ball after ball without looking like he could hit a bull in the ass with a banjo.

Winless Andso Mangis was looking to get the worst version of the Krauts that's been seen since their debut with this guy at quarterback. To the point that some were even talking about them potentially pulling this thing out of their ass. Instead, Rhine actually executed Isaac Dieter's offense to perfection. And by that - he handed the ball off forty four times and there was literally nothing the opposing defense could do to stop it. Rylan Rodgers Jr was the driving force - saving two fumbled handoffs and matching that number with forty yard runs, still churning at twenty nine years old. And for Rhine's part, shockingly, he looked okay.

Ignore the reports of him breaking curfew (Coach Dieter elected to ignore the fine) every night this week (he's pretty sure Rhine can't afford the "fine player" option), look past the fact that the Diamond may have been in possession of crystals literally just fifteen minutes before kickoff. Outside of the fumbled handoffs, he actually played passable football, and showed a bit of that old flash. On a third and long inside Ranoria's territory, Rhine was completely oblivious to the blitz, but simply shrugged off a would-be tackler off his blindside and took off, getting the edge and sliding down to move the sticks before dragging a finger along the bottom of his nose and pointing downfield.

Fifteen yards, unsportsmanlike conduct, and they'd punt after that, but at least the guy still has his personality.

Things aren't looking much more difficult going into their game against Rouyoute - a Valanora rematch and showdowns with the Grid Corps and Dragonflies loom large for this team. If Rhine can somehow find his feet for the first time in a decade...

Actually, let's not get ahead of ourselves. Let's just hope the Krauts can find an emergency signing before the inevitable crashout.

"I don't give a rat's ass about yards," Rhine said at the postgame presser, "Ranoria's the greatest football nation in the world, so good that they've won even without me under center. I respect it, gotta handicap us when we're this good. But now? The leash is off, we're coming for necks!" Rhine leaned back and held a lighter under his bowl, waited for it to start burning, then took a long drag.

"Even I have my limits. I'm gettin' a bit long in the tooth. But every great one's got one great performance left in him. And I don't wanna go out without one more crack at Gwenderyn."
Fan of football, the Murican kind. But soccer is cool too! Just not really my thing. C(:^D/-<

Hoy to Hoy-ma?

Postby Drawkland » Sun Aug 10, 2025 8:49 pm

Jack Hoy woke up in his Metropolon penthouse and yawned. He turned over to his nightstand, tapping a control panel button that gradually de-shaded his floor-to-ceiling bedroom window. Day was just beginning to break over Drawkland's massive symmetrical capital city. Jack could see the rays of light pushing over the mountains as he rolled out of bed and moved to his dresser.

It was time for his morning workout. He never missed a day if he could help it. Even with the carefree (borderline careless) attitude to nearly everything in life, Jack Hoy was not one to skirt around the necessities. Even before his immortality, being able to handle his workhorse workload without breaking down or tiring out required constant physical diligence. Immortality helped with the stamina, but it wouldn't keep him in playing shape. The expectations were heavy, probably more than any other player had to experience. Even the greatest of their generations will eventually regress. Everybody hopes to retire with grace, but it rarely happens. Father Time is undefeated ... for mortals. When a fantastic player withers away, it's a sad but understandable part of their career arc.

Jack wasn't allowed to regress. While it was certainly possible for him to grow complacent and lose some of his top-notch fitness and technique, his actual body would never fall apart like it would for any of his mortal teammates. Jack had just about reached the age when he was legitimately worried with losing his ability to play at a professional level, when the quest for immortality freed him from such issues. Now there was an entirely different problem. He was eternally thankful for his eternal fitness, but now the expectations of his team, his fanbase, and himself would remain constant. If he couldn't lose ability due to age, and injuries were only a temporary inconvenience, any step back would be a failing of himself. His own inability to adapt or improve. He'd seen this to a very small extent in Fiston, Ranoria. Whenever he had an MVP season with absurd numbers, a "run-of-the-mill" season still well over 2000 all-purpose yards felt like a step down, even a small failure.

Thankfully the years of routine, especially once immortal, served Jack well this morning. He hopped over to his home gym setup to start on his workout routine on autopilot, so the thoughts rolling through his half-conscious mind didn't slow him down physically. Mentally, though, his mind whirled. He'd had this idea since leaving Drawkland that he'd spend 10 solid years in every major football league in the multiverse. He'd prove his skills were universal, that he truly was the greatest running back of all time. He was undoubtedly an inner-circle Hall of Famer in Drawkland even before being blessed with eternal life, and his World Bowl escapades had taught the rest of the multiverse who he was. He didn't need to do this rigmarole to prove himself. It was mostly for pride, and to shake up his surroundings. Yet, the morning after he met with Hoima Zebra management to discuss contract options for a move to Banija's GFLB, Jack was finally questioning why he was doing it at all.

Finishing the workout didn't stop the thoughts zipping through his brain. Jack paced around the apartment for a fair amount of time as he prepared his protein-rich breakfast, mumbling to himself like a madman, before he finally decided he had to talk to somebody about all this. There was only one option. Only one person that he hoped would really understand this predicament.

"Good morning." Leo Cross' voice rang out from Jack's phone a minute later.

"Hey Leo." Jack said, clearing his throat. "I just wanted to, uh, talk. About life, I guess."

"Oh?" Leo's interest was piqued. It's not every day that Jack Hoy got introspective.

"It's about the GFLB move. Met with a team last night, and just mulling it over."

"Ah." Leo recalled the rumors about Jack's move and figured that was coming soon. "Was the offer not good enough or something? Are they lowballing you?"

"No, no." Jack waved his hand dismissively, even though Leo couldn't see him do that over the phone. "The offer is good. It's great, really. I think the GFLB commish made sure the team with the strongest case were the ones to approach me. He really wants me over there, y'know that whole deal. I mean, hell, this is the richest deal in league history they're putting on the line. Good situation. I couldn't ask for anything else."

"Okay." Leo hesitated. That sounded good enough. "What am I missing here?"

"It's ... life, I guess." Jack shook his head. "I dunno. I'm kinda having a mental crisis here. Like, I love football. It's all I really know how to do. And you know as well as I do how it feels to be on that field, laying it all out. But I just woke up super existential this morning. Like, is this what I'm doing forever? Can I even handle it forever?"

"I get that." Leo replied earnestly. "I had a similar thing when I got back from the Quest."

"How did you get past it?"

"I ... didn't really. I just kept at it. You know me, I'm a creature of habit. I just lose myself in the day-to-day, and the fulfillment of football keeps me going long enough to get to the next game."

"That sounds extremely depressing. And also not helpful."

"Talk to a therapist if you want something helpful." Leo chuckled dryly. "If there's even a therapist equipped for this sort of thing."

"I'm sure the Accords have somebody," Jack thought aloud. He sighed, then continued. "I guess the day-to-day isn't a problem as much. I think we're handling that the same way. It's more the actual performance on the field. Like, I'm about to roll into Hoima, and they're gonna expect me to turn everything around. I mean, I can do a lot, but I can't do everything. What if I can't pull them to a championship or two?"

"You've never been afraid of getting dragged in the media." Leo said a moment later. "So what if they get delusions of grandeur? Anybody rational knows that a full team effort is needed to succeed long term."

"Yeah, well, I'm not worried about the media either." Jack replied vaguely.

"Mmm." Leo finally figured out the root cause. "You're afraid of falling behind yourself?"

"Uh, yeah. I guess that's what it is." Jack sighed. "It's not like I can blame the aging curve. If I stink, it's because I stink. What happens if that happens?"

"You're so obsessed with being The Greatest that the mere idea of being mediocre is torturing you." Leo couldn't help but laugh. "Maybe that's how Father Time will get you now that he can't break your legs. He'll just break your mind instead."

"Great. You're helping a lot, man. Glad I called."

"Knowing is half the battle. The other half is execution. Everybody deals with self-doubt. I'm frankly surprised it's taken you this long."

"I guess that's just me growing up," Jack gave a humorless laugh. "I guess in the past I was too busy focusing on the game to worry, or my ego handled it. That's what makes this extra weird."

"Jack, go sign the damn contract." Leo checked his watch, realizing he might miss his breakfast appointment. "You'd be stupid not to. Go ahead and get an IA shrink's number so you can call them from wherever the hell in Banija they're sending you. You know you'll go even crazier without football."

"Fair enough." Jack sighed again. "Thanks, Cross. See you at Corps training camp?"

"See you then," Leo confirmed.

Later that evening, dressed in a reasonably nice suit, Jack Hoy strode into the room. GFLB's Commissioner, the Hoima team owner, and a litany of team staff, players, and media members had gathered once Jack gave them the confirmation phone call. It was happening. Ink was going on paper. For the next six years, for better or worse, Jack Hoy was a Zebra.

"Welcome to Hoy-ma!" Somebody in the gathering said, to a smattering of polite laughs. Jack himself grinned, or at least forced himself to. Divine willing, he'd get out of his own head by the time he hit the turf in Banija.

Call it luck, call it misfortune, but Dhemixian Gridiron teams just aren't meant to start out playing good teams, only to later get humbled by even the slightest of competition. Now, Dhemixia only has two internationally competing gridiron teams, but the point still stands. From UCP being hung out to dry in the MinCon with no competition and coming out of 4 playoff appearances in 5 seasons with ONE (1) playoff win to the Serpents mowing down lower-ranked teams to start the World Bowl before getting atomized by their final 5 games. It's pretty accurate with schedules too, just like UCP winning the Mineral CCG against a team pretty similar to Abanhfleft, they then went to win against a shabby at best and garbage at worst SSU team (it's disrespectful to even compare them to Katzeburg to be honest), before losing it and having the wheels fall off against a Ranorian CHU, this time just having to play the entire nation of Ranoria.

A run like this isn't sustainable, but it's even less sustainable when you take into account who's on the Dhemixian sideline. Is Craig Kelly the man who led UCP to a 10-0 season and then immediately got clobbered in the QFs as a #1 seed at home? Yes. Is that good in the context of a non-college football team? Heavens no. Sure, Jerry Atkinson might have led the man to 3-0 up to this point and potentially 5-0 before the schedule starts to turn it up a notch, but it's not exactly gonna matter when they have to drag themselves to 4/5 powerhouse NTs to end the group stage. Absolutely brutal, but it can get worse. Jerry Atkinson carried the serpents to 20-point or more wins in the first three games. But you wonder how they scored amounts like 32, 36, and 39 points. Well, when you take into account Craig Kelly's criminal incompetence, it turns out that he might do a funny and go for two in the fourth quarter up 20. This guy CANNOT be trusted, and yet, he still bumbles his way into winning ballgames. The only thing stopping him from laughing all the way to the bank will be MD6 against Ranoria. That game is guaranteed to be a wake-up call for the Dhemixians when they inevitably get deep-fried at Brigantine Park, and it will tell all based on what Kelly does in response to a loss like that.

While we're here left to stew over how exactly Craig Kelly's gonna play stupid games and win his stupid prize, we might as well make the most of the low-ranked schedule while we have it. Abanhfleft and Katzeburg are up next, and while they're on paper not the best Gridiron teams, they're battle-scarred from playing the best of the best, and will give a FIGHT to the Serpents. Should Craig Kelly bumble his way into a 5-0 start, the Dhemixians are set up the best they can possibly be to barely limp their way into the knockouts. We'll just have to see if the team surrounding Kelly can lock in first.
It's empty.

University of Ankole basketball HC, meeting with the school's athletic director and school President

The basketball coach for the University of Ankole walked into the room. He really had no idea what he was about to face. It could be a land mine- but if navigated properly, the opportunity was golden. He knew this was serious business with the President being here. Different University presidents were involved in sports at different capacities. NMU, for example, was literally ran by a relative of Lance Kabuye. U of A was a big sports school, but this particular President didn't have an interest in sports- so much so that this basketball coach, who had been here at this program for four years, hadn't actually had a meeting with the President since he signed his contract.

"So you know why you're here today, yes?" The Athletic Director started.

"Of course." The basketball coach said. "Jack Hoy. I mean, what a tremendous opportunity for the University. We've got 2 shots with him to make the NSCAAs, and then-"
"2 what?" The President asked.

"Uhh... 2 shots. NSCAAs are every 3rd year, remember? Make the semis once over that 2 year span, and boom, we're going global with him. I haven't been able to get in touch with him, but as soon as I do-"

"Dude, you think Jack fucking Hoy is playing domestic ball?" The Athletic Director asked. "You're kidding me. He's here on a football contract, this basketball stuff is for fun."

"But I was told-"

"You've got to qualify for the NSCAAs. We, as a university, have two chances. You, as a coach, have one. That's right- make the national semis, make the NSCAAs, and you'll be coaching Jack Hoy, one of the greatest athletes to ever live. After Laborious Hawk, of course. If you don't qualify this season, next year we'll find a coach who will get us there." The Athletic Director replied.

The coach was stunned. "Did you just-"

"Yes I did." The AD replied. "You got it? We're clear?"

"I mean, if we've got Jack, won't we get voted in?" The coach replied. Then, the President started speaking.

"Those mother fuckers would vote in Northern Moravica if they went 0-28." The President snorted. "Never trust the Presidents to make the smart decisions. No, don't leave things to chance like that. If we dont' qualify for this shit directly, we risk losing the best marketing opportunity this University has ever had. Do you want that on your head?"

"Uhhhh." Stammered the coach.

"Exactly." The President said. "Now get out of my office. I've got more important shit to do." And with that, he showed the coach the door.

Road tripping Serpent Eagles start 2-1 at the World Bowl before they reach Busukuma

BUSUKUMA, NATIONAL CAPITOL REGION- World Bowl LI is going strong, and the tournament is three games into a long conference/division stage. Naturally, the Banijans were drawn with a rival, South Newlandia, and the scheduling Gods made no mistake about it- Banija was going to kick off World Bowl LI in a personalized house of horrors, in a rematch of last cycle's third place game- Banija v. South Newlandia, this time featured at the Jungledrom. And as most Banijan trips to the Jungledrom go, no matter the level, there is only one result. Hell, if we face the Ellies at the next WBC, we won't be surprised if they petition to convert that to a temporary baseball stadium to make us play there.

A tough game all-around. Our offense actually gave up more points than they scored, a terrible place to be- with a pick-6, and a scoop & score, by the Ellies defense that powered the home team to a blowout opening day win over the Banijans. "The opening game, well- today was a rough one." Thomas Hall, clearly frustrated, told reporters. "There's something about this place, man- a house of horrors for this team. Everything that could've gone wrong, went wrong. Four turnovers is inexcusable- you're not going to win many games with four turnovers, especially when you're on the road, and ESPECIALLY against a team of that level. We've got to learn how to protect the g-d damn ball, as too many more of those performances will give me an aneruysm."

Was he being literal? Probably not- although with how he looked on TV yelling at Odika after the pick 6, despite a downpour raining down on him, maybe he was. Meanwhile, with the opening 3 games of the tournament on the road, things were not going to get easier, as a challening trip to New Umoja loomed immediately after. A team that was down on themselves, desperately needing not only a win, but a good performance- and they got that. The Banijans traveled on the road to New Umoja, and put up a 50 spot- a confidence inspiring blowout on the road, against a team in their division as well.

Odika was dominant- he threw for 376 yards and 5 TDs, as the Banijans simply never let up. "It was the type of game that this offense needed, especially away from home." Said a Banijan TV analyst. "People kept said they were regressing, and yet- they looked like the unstoppable force of Serpent Eagles rosters past. Remains to be seen if that is a consistently capable performance, or if the biggest fears are here- in particular, that the offense cant' cut it in the big games. But at least for one game, when the team desperately needed it, it was the Banijan offense that just shredded."

The road game in Nova Calania was not so smooth- but the defense stepped up in a hostile environment. Kijeera hit three short FGs, and with a Joshua Okombo 33 yard TD run, the Banijans were able to escape Nova Calania with a 16-10 victory. The upset bid was spirited- but the deepest Nova Calania got into Banijan territory in the second half was just the Banijan 40 yard line. The type of win that a defensive coach, like Thomas Hall, loves. "People give this unit so much crap." Hall told reporters in the post game. "But when the going got tough, the tough got going. We stonewalled them at every big opportunity. Pass D, run D, etc... On this side of the football, there are a ton of positives to take from this one."

Two defensive plays really decided the game. Early in the fourth, it was 16-10 to the Banijans, and with 13:30 left, the home team decided to go for it on 4th & 4, from the Banijan 40, instead of trying a 57 yard FG. Reasonable decision- until MDU/FSU grad Karwana Kimaka flew past the tackle and sacked the Nova Calania QB for a loss of 7 yards. And then, the other critical play. When, on a 2nd & 3 from the 50, with 3:32 left, their QB attacked Julius Adhon down the field in single coverage- and the Banijan CB, with an imitation of his HC nearly 50 years earlier, came down with a spectacular INT at the Banjan 15 yard line. And despite the home team having all of its timeouts- the Banijan O got a few first downs to run out the clock, as Nova Calania never saw the ball again.

"Look- I had my eye on the ball, and an opportunity, so I went up to seize it." Julius Adhon told reporters. "Keep 'em coming my way- I'm ready for it." After three road games to kick things off, the Banijans are finally at home, with the next two in the Stadium of the Restoration. To help recoup some costs for the SotR recent expansion, all of Banija's home games this cycle will be at the national stadium, rather than the usual practice of spreading 'em out. Banija will face a tough home game against HUElavia, who also sit at 2-1 alongside Banija, before going up as heavy favorites at home against an 0-3, unranked Riandera.

"Big wins beget big games- and the HUElavia matchup is indeed a big game." Thomas Hall told reporters. "We're pulling out all the stops in the home opener- we're gonna wanna dazzle the home fans who've been watching us mostly on TV, and we want to grab win #3 of the campaign."

After a close but two devastating losses Andso Mangis rebounds looking to finally win. especially after both of those games were 45 + yard field goals that were missed. the coach in the locker room gave this speech. "Aight boys lets get hyyyyype we almost beat a undefeated team and understandably the loss hurts but we well make those kicks good next games and play better and general. the man from Ohio reporting to you.

Nova Calania bounces back on week 4

New Portland Republic, The Boneyard - After losing a defensive thriller at home to Banija, Nova Calania travelled to New Portland Republic, a nation located in the Boneyard, and easily won 44-20. Nova Calania started off with the ball and scored on their 1st drive when Anne-Élisabeth Guirguis caught Arielle Bellerose-Deslongchamps' 21 yards pass into the endzone. The Tapirs increased their lead midway in the 1st quarter on a 36 yards field goal. New Portland Republic put themselves on the scoring board late in the 1st quarter with a 6 yards rushing touchdowm by the running back. Nova Calania increased their lead midway in the 2nd quarter with a 24 yards rushing touchdown by Guillaume Bibeau-Babeux. On their next drive, New Portland Republic had the ball at their own 42 yards line on a 3rd and 14 and Quarterback's pass intended to Wide Receiver 1 was intercepted by James Tuttle-McGregor for the pick six. New Portland Republic made a 52 yards field goal in the final minute of the 2nd quarter and the score was 24-10 Nova Calania at halftime.

New Portland Republic started off the 3rd quarter with the ball and made a 28 yards field goal on their first drive. The Tapirs were unable to score on their next drive and Sébastien Piquette punted the ball at the 13 yards line in New Portland republic territory. On a 1st and 10, Running back fumbles the ball. Jean-Baptiste Bourguignon recovers it and runs to the end zone for another defensive touchdown. Nova Calania increased their lead early in the 4th quarter with a 8 yards rushing touchdown by Tristan Montmarquette-Boisvenue. New Portland Republic answered midway in the 4th quarter with a 17 yards passing touchdown from Quarterback to Wide Receiver 1. Nova Calania added 3 more points on a 41 yards field goal and another 3 points on a 30 yards field goal and the final score was 44-20 Nova Calania.

Nova Calania is now third in Drawkstar Conference with 3 wins and a loss, behind South Newlandia and Banija and just ahead of HUElavia and Lisander. On week 5, Nova Calania will have a bye and they will travel to HUElavia on week 6. The match will be played at Estadio Capital in Curumba. François-Xavier Malboeuf is out with an ankle sprain. Everyone behind him on the depth chart moves up one spot.

2071 Quebec and Shingoryeo Federal Election Simulator

Hello everybody! Welcome to the 2071 Q&S federal election simulator! Feel free to use the simulator to make your own projections.

Please don't be intimidated by the initial impression - this isn't a difficult spreadsheet simulator.

If anything, the process is very straightforward. You are more than welcome to simply enter the voting percentage to each party category, and to the row of each province. In doing so, you should be able to see the riding-by-riding results for each province you put the numbers into, as long as your percentages are reasonable up to a 100-percent total.

Upon first glimpse, you would notice that there are 6 different parties with their acronyms written in Hanja. Don't worry, they aren't meant to be intimidating. Those are the following:
無窮花 - MOOGOONGWHA - Centre to Centre-Right - Government - 188/505 seats
新民線 - Shinminjeon - Centre-Left to Left - Official Opposition - 132/505 seats
自由黨 - Shingoryeoite Liberals - Centre - Third Party - 118/505 seats
新原會 - CIS - Centre to Centre-Right - Fourth Party - 41/505 seats
綠色黨 - Shingoryeoite Greens - Centre-Left to Centre-Right, Green Politics - Fourth Party - 16/505 seats
共産黨 - Communists - Far-Left - No party status (12 seats required) - 3/505 seats
無所屬 - Independents - N/A - N/A - 7/505 seats

Please be advised that the default numbers placed there, are from the 2067 election percentages. Additionally, the number of seat totals are different here, to reflect the 2069 Federal Electoral Redistribution where 60 First-Past-The-Post and 5 Proportional Representation seats that were added.

Also, the default numbers used here are from the 2067 Federal Elections, which mean that with a lot of In-character events that would happen over the course of the World Cup 99 cycle, it's bound to change. So what you might see here would not necessarily mean that you'll see those results for the final percentage and seat tally. ...

... Nor does it guarantee that the Moogoongwha Party, though popular with a well-liked Prime Minister, is set to win the election. His predecessor, Shinminjeon's Irene Kweon Binnington, would certainly know a thing or two about the post-Olympic falloff that nobody saw it coming. And that's the way it goes sometimes in politics, both in real life and in character.

In any case, it is still a work-in-progress. There are some tabs I hope to address further in the future, especially the polling section where the data covers only up to July 2069, roughly halfway point between the 2067 and the 2071 Federal Elections. But those, of course, are for the future.

And that's all folks! If you have questions and/or suggestions, feel free to shoot me a TG. I will try to get back to you soon.

The curtains close on the regular season and with that, six teams say goodbye for the rest of the season. That includes a few teams that we really thought would get to the playoffs and in return, we get some surprises. First of all: the teams that didn't over- or underperformed: the teams that simply performed.

The ImageMawryshire Centaurs did exactly what they told us they were going to do. They were going to dominate teams on the line of scrimmage - completely against type - and they got four more wins out of it than any other team. Their first loss happened in week three, the other two happened back to back as they were dealing with some injuries to starters. That second loss was to the Saints - the 6-9-1 Saints that nonetheless were fourth in the preseason power rankings and showed us why in that week and pretty much that week alone - and their third was to the out-of-division Destroyers. If there's a loss that doesn't hurt too bad, it's to a team in the other division, but not only did the Destroyers finish last overall (12th, 6-10), the result of the game was 0-21. The Destroyers scored three touchdowns in a shutout win over the best team in gridiron by a mile. Anyway, let's not get hung up on the losses when they showed us in the thirteen remaining weeks why they're probably going to win the Bowl. Was it their 20- and 23-point wins in weeks 1 and 2, where there's automatically some churn and some unpredictability as teams unexpectedly gel and fall apart? Maybe - but that was just the start. Was it their 31-point win in week 4 over the Dragonflies, a team we named the 'most improved team'? A 41-point win (61-20) making them easily the highest scoring team in the league? Was it how they took revenge for two straight losses with some aura farming over the Wolves (23-22 in a subzero game with barely any passes)? Or the next week, where they were getting ready for playoff form by beating their local rivals Emperors 69-27? Or was it in week 18, the last week of the regular season, where they demolished the Saints 40-0? You tell me.

The ImageAerellen Explosions weren't necessarily tipped as the second best team in the league - but they were probably good enough for a 9-7 season. It goes to show that 9-7 is good for second in the league given how much teams have trended towards the middle with only one or two exceptions at the top and bottom. Either way, completely according to their history, they have a very heavy O- and D-line - the season meta starts to show, with the Centaurs also going this route. The Explosions didn't have the same happy preparation for the playoffs in the last few weeks, forced to rest starters for injury concerns, letting their 9-5 record turn to a 9-7 and only barely staying ahead of the competition. Among those losses was a one-point loss to the Caspians, a team they might well run into in the postseason, but then hopefully with some extra rest and a fuller roster. Just before that, they beat their rival Astronauts 14-12 in a lovely northeastern game with few points, few passes, and whatever else makes late-season football so hard to watch.

The ImageAminey Caspians are back in the playoffs! They also went 9-7 but fell behind the Explosions on head-to-head. Still, that's a massive achievement by a club that hasn't been to the postseason in a while. Unfortunately for them, they will be in the first round of the playoffs facing off against the third best team of the East. But whether the Caspians will be able to do much - no team has gone through such a WLWLWLWL season. Beat the Explosions in week 18 - after losing to the Admirals 23-3 the week before. Late in the season they did beat their rivals, the Dragonflies, 42-21 and not much has done this much for the morale of a team (despite losing the next two games) and that's a week after beating the Astronauts 43-20. If you think that means they had a good streak - they were held to three field goals the week before, lost to the Centaurs 48-13. Basically, it'll depend on the form of the day whether the Caspians will make the Bowl or bow out in round 1.

The ImageGreencaster Godspeed won't be denied and turn their preseason 3rd place into a fine seeding for the playoffs. They are the first true pass-first offence on this list so they're perfectly matched to take on the weaker secondaries of this year. It's impressive they've managed two draws on the year, a 9-9 against the Wolves and a 40-40 against the Saints. The Godspeed, like no other team, possess the ability to play according to their opponents, but on a bad day, they'll also fall to the level of their opponents. What really counts agains the Godspeed is their inability to show up in big games: their last win against a decent-to-good team was 26-10 against the Caspians in week 9, they recorded a win against the Wolves (they played each other twice) and otherwise recorded just Ls against teams with winning records.

The ImageSchemerdrecht 65ers are also back to the promised land, going 8-7-1 and staying ahead of their city rivals by half a win - but half a win is half a win. They had good streaks early and late and kind of fell below .500 in the middle. They beat the Centaurs in week 3, beat the Caspians in week 6, then lost a bunch of shootouts, beat the Caspians again in week 16. There's no shortage of results against good teams, they had a bye in week 18, they might be well positioned for a deep run?

The ImageMayara Wolves are our final playoff team. They will play everyone on their terms, which means defence, defence, defence. However, when forced to play ball, they can show up as well, like in week 17's 31-26 win over the Saints. Sure, it's the Saints, but it does show that the Wolves can score points. They also recorded three draws, and they haven't lost since week 13. This is kind of a wildcard facing off against a team that can't beat good teams - the Godspeed - but are the Wolves even a good team? It might be an even game.

The Saints were ranked 4th in the preseason and now they're 6-9-1 in 10th. The Dragonflies were the 'most improved team' and 7th in the preseason expectations and they're 6-10 in a familiar 11th place. And the team ranked 12th before week 1, the Astronauts, went a respectable 7-9, 1.5 wins out of the playoffs. You kind of just never know.

After doing well in this World Bowl start, the Jaguars of TJUN-ia were 3-0 and knew they had one more game to play before the bye and the start of the rest of this campaign. Having a bye on MD4 might be nice early on, but that does mean we will be playing the next nine games back to back - which might be impactful later down the line, but we do not know for sure. All we do know is that we have to play the schedule in front of us...and so we go again.

Game 4 of this campaign would be back at the Field of Dreams in The Gardens of New Washington, this time against Vaishnavaria from the Sport Division in our 2nd Cross-Divisional game in the Plexen Conference. This was expected to be another comfortable one, where our abilities outstretched their resolve, and that is exactly what happened. Moses Igbinoghene grabbed 5 TDs, four to Yurilka Zelinskaya and 1 to Gilbert Nyamutsamba with Glory Oparanozie going 5/5 on PATS, and the backups even had their day late on with Alisha Obi Michel getting some reps and scoring twice, once with the run and once via Catherine Alcaraz-Cortéz with Eleonora "Firefeet" Scafakou going 2/2. It was just comfortable all the way...49-12, job done.

Contemplating at our bye, we knew we have done some good. But we also knew that tougher tests were to come. Terefuxe on the road and Sea Peoples League completes the 1st Act of Divisional play, so we still have a long way to go

Taking the Scott Yadav pill

Is Scott Yadav.. actually good? Like, at quarterbacking? This is perhaps the biggest question of our time, as the former Richardson QB has very much divided fanbases across the gridballing multiverse. He’s made a name for himself as a hand-off merchant and checkdown expert, with relatively lacking physical tools – and yet, he’s been given an opportunity to lead the Elephants, and has seized the moment with a run of strong performances culminating in a stunning semi-final appearance for the Ellies. That’s usually happened via good fortune, timely bounces, and help from his teammates – but the start of this World Bowl campaign marks perhaps the first time the South Newlandian has actually been quarterbacking at a high level.

Granted, the opener at home against Banija was a slow start, but that was in a torrential downpour that made passing a silly suggestion even if your QB isn’t bad. Even here, Yadav took care of the football, avoiding turnovers entirely. Ever since, then, however, Yadav has played three games – against Riandera, at HUElavia, and against Lisander. Through these, he’s tossed 8 touchdowns against just one interception, clearing 250 yards in each and leading the Elephants to three consecutive 30-point outings (and wins by multiple scores).

Yadav’s arm strength is still lacking, but he’s played the most accurate stretch of his career. Perhaps one of the best throws of his career in this stretch was a tight touchdown pass to Emma Barbosa, who had barely any separation against Riandera linebacker Yenny Mannoppo. Yadav managed to hit her right into her gloves twenty yards downfield for the touchdown that gave the Elephants the lead back, allowing them to cruise from there. Barbosa, who’s become a slot receiver of sorts for the Ellies, has become Yadav’s favourite target and has accounted for four touchdowns all by herself.

For all the 115 passer rating and highlights in this stretch, you also can’t ignore that the Elephants have given him a ton of help offensively. Thomas Fantikos has unexpectedly continued to play at a high level even in his thirties, and the same is true of TE van Halfensen. The receivers all fit well together and have emerged as surprisingly good blockers, with coach Victorino clearly able to secure the buy-in of everyone on the team. The big story is the offensive line, where the Elephants stand out as excellent, giving Yadav a top-5 in the WB time-to-throw, thanks to an excellent tackle duo and the depth to stay strong for an entire game.

The defense has quietly been solid as well. 50 points against ranks best in the conference and sixth in the World Bowl on a per-game basis (trailing championship hopefuls Cardenao, Chromatika, Ko-oren and Ranoria as well as mickey-mouse-schedule-merchants Dhemixia). They’re still relying a lot on big plays, and struggled against HUElavia’s QB Santander, and definitely benefit from the methodical possession-focused offense limiting turnovers – but still, this Elephants team is on the verge of actually being kinda decent. How did we get here?

The Vanorian Gridiron League, the first professional gridiron league to take place in the Eternal Empire and has done so successfully for two seasons now. The attendances and television numbers have shown that the league is in a sustainable place and one where there is plenty of potential growth both domestically and abroad for revenue generation. The higher the revenue goes off, the better the sort of player that the teams will be able to attract with competitive contracts like what is seen across the sea in Banija and further abroad in Ranoria. However the teams have been working to try and hold on to some of the best Vanorian players, one of the biggest showings of this was the signing of Imran Håland to the team from Raynor City, keeping one of the best running backs that the Empire has ever produced here in the Empire. It has been expanded over the last year with more domestic talents signing on with the VGL, such as Storm Dybvik with Kenmore Hills and Julian Holmefjord signing on with Turbani, lending the league even more credibility as it attempts to find its place both in the Vanorian sporting landscape and the hierarchy of professional leagues in the sport.

Part of that though is the league has been looking at adopting a more permanent name than the one they started with, as the Vanorian Gridiron League was only ever supposed to be a working title as something more appropriate was decided upon. Most thought that the working was only going to last the inagural season as the league tried to establish itself and ensure that it was not going to be a one season wonder start up that would fold after its debut season. Contracts were modest and the sponsorships and television rights were also modest, as there was a lot of intrigue as to whether the league would actually be able to be financially stable and competitive enough at a high enough level to provide good players for the national team. There was little reason that the Vanorian Sporting Council would sanction the league if the levels were not high enough to nurture the domestic talent and give them room to grow and turn into potential players for the national team. The league had to sell its product and its quality not just to the fans from abroad but also to the skeptics here at home that they deserved to stand on their own and be recognized as the top professional gridiron league in the Empire.

Two seasons on and the league has established itself, the Stormguard Stormbreakers making the championship game on both occasions but playing bridesmaid on both occasions. Two different champions from two different seasons and there is hope around the entire Empire that this will be a league that will hopefully see a bit more parity than either the hockey or football leagues have shown over the years, especially with the introduction of a soft salary cap last season with a luxury tax for those who went over it. While the teams comprising the league were mostly focused on roster building during the offseason, the folks at the VSC were working with the higher up representatives of the league itself on marketing the product more to fully broaden their reach, when the issue of the name came up again. Weeks of back and forth over proposals for the league name were bandied about between in person meetings and a series of emails and online calls, before at long last the two came to a conclusion. The league was going to be rebranded as the Silver Star League moving forward, taking a cue from football and using the abundance of silver in the Empire as the inspiration while aiming to be among the stars.

With these change to the official name of the league, the championship game is going to be renamed as the Silver Star Cup although both conferences will retain the names they have now. There is expectations from within the VSC that with a proper name to the league, that sponsorship opportunities from abroad will open up even more and that the currently salary cap of seventy-five million coins will start to rise over the years as the league increases its revenue. Whether or not it will come to be on balance with the leagues from Ranoria or Banija are unclear, but it is becoming clear that it is a place where national team hopefuls can sign on for and play in as they look to improve themselves. The Sabres are off to a great start in the current World Bowl and have increased their standing in the game significantly over the last several years, most notably over the last two to three editions. With the ultimate goal of eventually winning a world bowl, the league and national teams growth seem to be linked and as one grows stronger, so to hopefully does the other until both are able to reach the zenith of their respective positions.

Legacy of the Firehawk
Cruise Control

Nobody really cares about who you're playing when wins are coming at a premium. All that matters is the final result, and the fact that the Iron Legion have finally improved to be over .500 after the defeats to Quebec and Shingoryeo and Delaclava means that there is some real momentum going forward.

Sure, there are the return games against those two teams, as well as the fact that Chromatika has yet to play the three best teams of the other division, including the World #1 team in Cardenao. Those five games in the next eight will determine whether the Chromatiks have a major spot in the playoffs, just sneak in, or don't make it at all - but the way that the defense has been playing in the last three games have given the fans a lot of hope in that they can come through.

Consider that the lone touchdown given up to Of the Golden Harp was a blocked punt return, and the Iron Legion have conceded a grand total of six points in the three games against subpar opposition. This has allowed the Chromatiks to play a rather conservative style of offense, which as been good because of the biggest development of the tournament for the Iron Legion - the left calf of Sarai Gwenderyn.

Having pulled it on a routine scramble in the game against Of the Golden Harp, Gwenderyn stayed in to complete the Quarter before giving way to Vivayavich, who piloted the rest of the win. Gwenderyn was a scratch against Vaishnavaria as well, and the plan seems to be to rest her on the upcoming match against Ophiuchus Region. Then, Chromatika will enjoy their Bye, setting up a return just in time to face the Quebecois, the Delaclavs, Terefuxe, and TJUN-ia in succession.

"It's not a major injury," assured Naia Curentino, the Offensive Coordinator, "But when you have the caliber of players that we have, we can afford to let her take all the time she needs. Anne-Maurice knows the offense as well as Sarai, and with the way that the team is playing, we have all the faith that no matter who is helming the team, we will continue to perform at a good level."

When asked about the difference between playing with Sarai and playing with Anne-Maurice, Alessandra Mio responded, "Sarai is more of a running threat and you have to think about keeping the play alive by going off script, while Anne-Maurice depends on you to be at the right place exactly when it's drawn up so that her pass is on time. Both of them are great players by their own right, and we are truly lucky to have both of them."

"It won't matter who's playing Quarterback if we can keep up our defensive intensity," Park Mi-Hyeon stated of the way the defense is playing, "Throw out the two touchdowns we've given up on turnovers, and that's a grand total of thirty-four points conceded in the first five games played. Only Ko-oren's defense is playing better than ours - and we've done that while playing our standard game, not being even more conservative."

Chromatika has two more weeks to get things right - and then things will get truly interesting, by the end of which it will become very clear what kind of tournament the Iron Legion will have going forward.

And nobody will care about the circumstances that surrounded the team when all is said and done.

With a backup that's about as good as your starter, and a defense that's playing very good ball, though? Count out the Iron Legion at your own peril.

“Well Bobby, that 38-9 RAWRCRUSH of The Golden Harp had to feel good after the offense thus far has failed to be the machine many predicted it would be?”

“Who the hell are you and where’s Missy???”

“I–I’m Kayla Fornia, the intern! Missy’s not in today on account of getting proposed to at a private mountain by a Banijan Prince!”

“Is this a joke??”

“No, no it’s not and we are broadcasting live to Cardenao and the world beyond right now Bobby! So…that 38-9 win had to feel good, right?”

“Uhh…uh yeah, yeah that’s…that’s right Kayla Fornia! I felt like that’s showing everyone what the #1 is capable of and that’s the way we need to play moving forward.”

“It seemed like you were given the green light to look for more impactful, if riskier throws; was that a part of a redefined gameplan, and if so, how much did you have to do with it–or was it a result of in-game play calling?”

“I think it was a bit of both, I’ve been saying since the first game that we have the talent and the senses to be more ambitious with the ball in our hands. I understand the value of playing possession football, but at the end of the day, we need to get to the endzone–just because we’re taking our sweet time putting up 6 points doesn’t mean the other teams are also playing slowly, so yeah I think Coach Valentine heard me chirping and gave me a chance to prove myself…

Which I did, I’m Bobby Dials and I want the world to know that. I have a lot of respect for what the other QBs out here have to do, as a World Bowl Champion I get it, but put me up against anyone and I’m betting on myself whether your name’s Logan or Luani, Youngblood or Yadav, Odin, Atkinson, or Gwenderyn–I’ll get the job done cause that’s what I do.”

“What about Igbinoghene?”

“…who?”

“The QB who beat you on matchday 1.”

“Damn Kayla Fornia……who’s side are you on?? Get me on the field again, Coach V let me play my game and I guarantee things will go differently.”

“Can we expect to see more of ‘you playing your game’ moving forward?”

“Well I can’t say for sure, whatever plays the coaching staff call out that’s what I’ll do, but yeah I want to keep throwing it like we did against The Golden Harp.”

“Who are, to be clear, an unranked side.”

“Kayla……dammit when is Missy going to be back?”

“Missy LeCrown will be back whenever she pleases! Until then you’re stuck with meeee!! Thanks for the interview, Bobby, good luck out there!”

“Yeah this has been a real good time…see you next week.”

“That was Bobby Dials and I’m Kayla Fornia!”

"The Surprise Nomination"

She stood on the edge of Grand Gate Park. It was a breezy day, not like that’d make a difference to the game being played inside Seven Stars Stadium that evening. She was almost incognito, wearing a Drawkland Grid Corps jersey with Beck, #4, on the back. Wearing Sadeg State colors today would’ve made her a magnet for ribbing and ridicule. It wasn’t worth it. That fact alone made her gut churn.

“Brooklyn!” Dustin Beck called from behind. He strode forward to his daughter, who didn’t move her gaze. She was staring at the eponymous Grand Gate, the huge gilded entrance to Seven Stars Stadium. “What’s up with you?”

“Hm?” Brooklyn replied, shaking her head slightly and looking back at her dad. She didn’t bother faking a smile and instead presented a wry grimace. “I’m … annoyed.”

“Don’t blame ya.” Dustin was wearing the same jersey as his daughter, those his wasn’t a replica. It was an on-field jersey he’d worn at some point during his long national team career. “But I paid too much money for these tickets just to bail on th-”

“I’m not bailing!” Brooklyn interrupted, then sighed a moment later. “Sorry. It’s just insane that this is the world I’m living in.”

As if on cue, the ribbon and LED boards on the stadium façade lit up. Cavsar and Cold Hill University’s logos appeared alongside the NSCF crest, and a small cheer came from the front of the crowd. The gates were open. The countdown to the NSCF championship was under two hours now. The earlybirds rushed into the enormous venue to track down their seats and get first dibs on concessions, while the more laid back crowd continued to mill about in the plaza of Grand Gate Park in front of the stadium.

“Yeah, this one stings. So much so, in fact, that I’m not sure why you coerced me into getting us tickets for this game.”

“Coerced?” Brooklyn narrowed her eyes. “You literally asked me if I wanted to go, and I said yes.”

“Sure, but you wanted me to ask you. I could tell.” Dustin smirked. “That’s why I asked.”

“Whatever, dad.”

Dustin certainly had a point. Brooklyn herself hadn’t fully decided why she wanted to go. The obvious answer was that she’d never been to Seven Stars Stadium before and just wanted to see it for the spectacle. Similarly, the NSCF Championship had only been held in Drawkland once before, so it was a once-in-a-while type occurrence that felt dumb to pass up. It’s not like Brooklyn had anything else going on that weekend. The problem was her complicated relationship with Cavsar itself, but that wasn’t enough to keep her from attending the game.

The relationship with Cavsar really presented a more interesting question. Who was Brooklyn rooting for in this game? The Gladiators were arguably her biggest rival on the gridiron, but they were also a Drawkian team. The years of smack talk about Chromatik dominance and the Big Eight vs Horizon dichotomy made Brooklyn hunger for a Drawkian win. Of course, she was imagining herself at the helm of such a run with Sadeg State. Two months ago, the idea of Cavsar making the title game instead was absurd. Now it was real.

Then there was the question about Julian Gallagher, her high school teammate and former favored receiving target. He’d had the season of his life with Cavsar, and now it was time for his finale. Brooklyn’s stomach churned as she sat in her seat watching the pregame pageantry. She didn’t dislike her friend for being at Cavsar; she was the entire reason he was there to begin with. At the same time, she couldn’t shake a deep feeling of envy. How could fate twist like this? Leaving her sitting in the second level of the stadium while Julian was in a tunnel underneath, getting hyped for his chance at a championship. She would feel terrible if Julian lost, but she’d be sick if Cavsar won. It wasn’t like she had any affinity for Cold Hill, either.

That feeling persisted throughout the game. She watched the twists and turns. Cold Hill’s early lead off the back of Dante Flowers. Cavsar’s mini-comeback. The heart-stopping play to tie the game with less than a minute in regulation. Derek Boss doing everything in his power to keep the Buffalo defense intact, but slowly waning. The gritty drives in the first overtime. Cavsar’s decision to go for it on fourth down in double overtime. Of course it was the end zone on Brooklyn’s side of the field where Julian Gallagher came down with The Catch. She didn’t have a front row seat, but there was nothing obstructing her view of The Stop on Cold Hill’s final fourth down. She had a grand panoramic view of a hundred thousand Cavsar fans erupting in euphoria.

Drawkland had another team of international champions. Brooklyn wasn’t on it.

The worst part? She could’ve been.

“What?” Brooklyn took her phone away from her ear to check the screen. No, it wasn’t a prank call. It really was her head coach on the other end of the line.

“You’ve been nominated for Offensive Player of the Year by the NSCF committee,” Trace Hayes repeated. “They sent the invite to the office. Nicky also got nominated for special teams.”

“Our kicker?” Brooklyn shook her head, trying to make sense of it all. It had to be real. She didn’t know Coach Hayes that well after just one (really two) seasons with him, but she knew he wasn’t the type to pull a practical joke like this.

“Yup. I’m really proud of both of you. It’s an honor to be nominated, you know!” Hayes was clearly enthusiastic as his voice rang out through the speaker.

“Right, yeah, of course. Did they send an invite specifically to me, or..?”

“I’ve got several envelopes here, one’s addressed to you. Assuming it says the same thing as mine, you’ll be getting a table at the awards ceremony with eight seats. You can invite whoever you want. I believe I have a table of my own though, so you’ve got plenty of room for your family and friends.”

“That’s good,” Brooklyn replied automatically. She tried to come up with something else to say, but failed.

“Well, I don’t want to take away from your short break. I can have the letter sent to your address, or-”

“I’m in town. I can swing by and pick it up. Thanks.” Brooklyn hung up before her coach could respond.

It felt like a sick joke. It was true that Brooklyn had a good season. It could’ve been great, but fate was not on her side. The most astute statline watchers would note that her entire season was mostly propped up by the three-week stretch of insane blowouts. There was not a lot any quarterback could do in the subsequent seven-week stretch where the Sadeg State defense gave up nearly 30 points per game, but Brooklyn’s play wasn’t exactly inspiring. Sure, it’s an honor to be nominated, but no sane person would be voting for her. That was probably worse than not being nominated in the first place. She’d be expected to show up for the event, just to lose and clap for whoever actually won the award. As if this season needed another loss of any kind.

Truly, it was a lose-lose situation. Especially once Brooklyn found out who was nominated for Most Outstanding Player. It was none other than Julian Gallagher. The “none other” was literal, too. No other player even received a nomination, so Julian was guaranteed to take home international college football’s highest award. Brooklyn would have to be watching that with her own eyes, so that was great.

On top of all this drama, Brooklyn also had to decide who to even bring to the event. Her parents were the easiest pick, and she had no siblings to bring along. Unfortunately, things just got more complicated from there. Grace Robbins was an obvious selection, and she enthusiastically agreed to come along. Her other Sadeg State teammates were too numerous to narrow down for the remaining four seats. She actually asked her former high school teammates Mark Holmes and Kevin Briggs if they wanted to come, but they both said they were busy that weekend. For a brief moment, Brooklyn even considered asking Jace Phoenix to come, but she was still unsure where the two of them stood. It also didn’t seem like something Jace would be interested in, since it would do nothing to further inflate his ego.

Brooklyn ultimately landed on a mix of football and baseball teammates from Sadeg State to join her family at her table. It didn’t really improve how she felt about the whole thing, but at least she’d be a little less lonely when she watched everybody else get celebrated right in front of her.

Before you say anything, no, the forks aren't going in the eyes because Scott Yadav is a good quarterback (he isn't and honestly has never been it's a next level of dhelusional to take the pill), and it's not because Lane Proudfoot was actually a good quarterback with all his accolades in the RFL (he also wasn't actually good at football). It is in anticipation for the last 8 games of the tournament. The combined WB rank of the last 8 games is 91, averaging 11.375 per team. The Dhemixians have reached their last stand. Their only mission is to survive for as long as possible, there's no winning in this situation. If you're wondering why exactly that's a death sentence and a half, let me provide some context. In the first 5 games of the season, 3 less than the end from this point, assuming UR is 50, the combined rank of their opponents was 151 and averaged 30.2 per opponent. That's nearly 3x easier of a schedule than the last 8 games with 3 less included. If I'm you, I'd go ahead and stick the forks in right now, it's not like any of this football will be worth watching anyways. The best case scenario is they somehow Ricky Rat their way into a win against Ranoria on MD6 at home, beat Natkr away, and beat Katzeburg away to leave them at a paltry 7-8. If slowly watching as the Serpents inch closer to losing the division lead and missing out on the knockouts in the last 8 games of the season is your cup of tea, then by all means, go ahead and lose hope at a Dhemixian NT yet again choking in a major. The worst part is them not capitalizing on their easy schedule, either. They started 4-1 in reality, but if they hadn't've lost to Katzeburg, they would potentially be in an entirely different position and maybe have a shot at sneaking into the knockouts at 8-7. Such is life for a Dhemixian NT.

The Serpents were rewarded by Craig Kelly just kinda doing whatever he wants and treating his offensive coordinators as suggestions against Abanhfleft, especially in a tight game, of which is probably rarer than the Base Corps holding a lead in game 5 of a WBC round of 16. After one of the most defensive games thus far into the tournament, Jerry Atkinson would launch a fade to Dante Conner, headtopping a poor Fleftian DB and putting him on posters in the bedrooms of children all around Columbus. Up 6 with 3 minutes to go in the fourth quarter in what is a very defensive game, the rational thing to do here is just kick it and move on. If they score, they score, and we force OT. Instead, because we all know Craig Kelly isn't rational or competent, he says "nah, I'm built different" (paraphrased) and goes for two. It works. Better yet, Abanhfleft scores later, and because he went for 2, they're forced to go for it and miss it. Craig Kelly bumbles his way into looking like an offensive mastermind, what's new? Unfortunately, he just doesn't adjust to a more offensive game early enough against Katzeburg, and goes down 10-3 entering the first half (unfortunately it wasn't entering the bottom of the ninth against Drawkland). While we don't have the exact transcript for the halftime speech, we can make an educated guess and presume that it was pretty fiery in there, and not the kind when Craig Kelly tried to light Atkinson's pants on fire that one time in NSCF 29 at the half. Out the gate with the ball, it worked, and the Serpents would draw even on an air strike from Atkinson 23 yards to Michael Wallace in the back corner of the endzone, absolutely putting the safety in a blender and looking like he was in the Base Corps' trophy case with how deserted of an area he was in. Unfortunately, that's where the highlights stop, as Katzeburg would storm back out to a 20-10 lead, and the 45-yard Hail Mary to Gray-Rasmussen was solely to make the game look competitive, it's not like they were going to do anything with an opportunity like that with the Possession Philanthopist on the sideline anyways.

Finding themselves at a self-inflicted 4-1 hole that they honestly shouldn't have been in if they wanted any chance at advancing in the group of death, the Serpents begin the gauntlet, and now's a great time to shove the forks in the eyes. They have to face the Ranorian Snow Bears at home and most likely get SMOKED by retirement home Diamond Rhine under center, before hauling their way to Valanora and getting utterly dismantled, much like the NSCF scene, before losing all semblance of morale after a too little, too late win at Natkr and the useless bye week. It's not like we'll have to see what happens anyways, because we can't actually see anything with the forks in our eyes.

Time To Panic:
Rhine Completely Flops Against Rouyoute, Krauts Routed In The Crooked Crown

Image
Diamond Rhine before what was perhaps one of the most embarrassing losses in Krauts history

Valanora was fine. That's a nation with established football prowess, largely considered to be a contender at this stage. But that game was before the dark days. Before Luani went down.

Now, now our vision is clouded in darkness. It started when Rouyoute passer Julian Girard hit Alexandre Dupont on a comeback route at the corner of the "seven" of the Lions' uniquely shaped field, except without a sideline to stop him, Dupont just kept running. Safety Rodney Knight managed to catch him - but only by running out of one sideline and into the other, and was called for illegal touching, putting Rouyoute right onto the goal line. They proceeded to put defensive tackle Maxime Gagné at quarter back - and the Drawkian took the snap and just reached over the heads of everyone else to cross the plane.

After that, the chosen one completely fell apart. Rhine was a diamond in the rough coming out of high school. Rough neighborhood, suspension issues, but he was so damn talented. NSCF Champion as a freshman, took the RFL by storm, but he never grew up. He never became what he could have been. And it became very apparent here - maybe he knew some of the playbook through sheer osmosis, but a less arrogant quarterback would've done better in his shoes. You can't really call what he was doing guessing - he was throwing as if he knew exactly what was happening, except he basically never did. Deep routes that weren't a straight vertical? He launched it before the wideout got into his break. Curls? Timing was way off. It was ugly, and without the sheer size he had in his prime, his tendency to sit in the pocket was doing him no favors.

Late in the fourth, down 17-3, head coach Isaac Dieter was clearly getting frustrated enough that he couldn't hide it. He made his play call, and Rhine ran out there with a shit-eating grin that fans at Cold Hill, Dietrich, and Bwanzuba alike have fallen in love with or had nightmares about, respectively. No self awareness in this guy, he figured nothing was wrong.

Rhine faked the handoff, looked long, and started to slide right in the pocket when he felt pressure. Just as he had so many times in his younger days, he held out his left arm to stiff arm the pass rusher, only this time, it didn't work. He's thirty pounds lighter and much older than when that worked last, and big Antoine Moreau blasted right through the attempted stiff arm. Rhine, with the ball pulled back to throw, had no control over the pigskin, and Félix Tremblay scooped it up to run it back for six.

Isaac Dieter screamed out a string of expletives even as Tremblay was running it back, snapping his clipboard over his knee and spiking it on the field as he came onto the field and absolutely ripped into the "veteran" quarterback, and only made it about one question into the postgame presser before he shot out a "F***ing embarassment" and stormed off.

With the undefeated Serpents looming - and the Krauts barely hanging on early - is it finally the end of Ranoria's professional football dominance?

"Shocked honestly," Rhine shook his head as the team bus took them to the airport, Jannik Nadine burying his head in his hands as the quarterback incessantly yapped, "Shid I know this playbook about as well as I knew Cold Hill's, and way better than I knew Dietrich's. Couldn't tell you what's happening here."

There it was, Jannik snapped up.

This guy wasn't getting benched. Not yet. Going to the coaches with this information would only get him reemed. But he had something here.

"Wait, hold up, you don't know the plays? That's the problem?" Jannik turned, stunned, "You're a forty two year old professional quarterback and you don't know the plays?"

"Uh, yeah?" Rhine took a drag from his vaporizer, which mitigated some of the smell, "Never been an issue before?"

Jannik Nadine decided to ignore the known crash outs and Bwanzuba and Dietrich, and just pressed, "So, how did that work? Was someone telling you the plays or something? When you won a chip in Dietrich?"

Rhine leaned his seat back, at least until Najee Isidora threw a knee into the back of it, and laughed, splaying out his arms in feign terror, but conceded a bit of forward lean. "Now that you say that, yeah," he twirled the pen in his hand, "When Alessandra Mio was there, she knew the playbook by heart, total nerd. She usually just told me the playcall and all that. It was great. Come to think of it, we weren't quite as good the year after she dipped for Ranoria City."

Jannik Nadine stared at Rhine put the device to his lips and pulled in a bit more, "Weird stuff. Too bad we don't have any nerds here in Ranoria, that could be an asset. Whole damn country thinks they're too macho for reading and all that shit."

Jannik steepled his fingers together and leaned forward on them, his breathing even louder than Rhine's as his shoulders expanded and shakily deflated. "Deondre," he growled, "I hate that I'm even saying this, but," his exhale made the same sound as a waterfall, "I know this damn playbook better than my own house. I've been on this team for as long as I've been a pro. I can do what Mio was doing for you."

"Oh shit," Rhine said, cringing, "Sorry man, I didn't mean to make you feel like I'm against you guys who like study," Rhine clapped the star wideout on the back, "Nerds are cool man! Rule the world and all that! You should see some of the dudes at PlayToy Mans-"

"Stop," Jannik hissed, gritted teeth hidden by shaking hands, "Just stop."

Lions Secure Most Pivotal Win In Team History,
Dominating Reigning Champions

"I'm as surprised as you all are," said quarterback Julian Girard with a grin, "We thought we could give them a run if we put our best foot forward, but damn. Taking on the class of the tournament, this was supposed to be a litmus test. If you strike at the king, you damn well better put him down, and we did."

Girard has long been the Lions' shaky and inconsistent passer, and threw one touchdown pass against two interceptions in this contest, but the win vaunts them into dark horse status instantly - even if they're sitting at a paltry 2-3 record.

"We're only a game behind Drawkland," Girard said, "And that's the real goal. We know we're not winning the World Bowl anytime soon, but we want to be the best national team in the world, and the Grid Corps are the gold standard there. Biggest win in team history - sets us up perfectly to have an even bigger one heading into Drawkland next week."

Admittedly that one didn't go so well- even with momentum and a couple of ethnic Drawkians on the team, Rouyoute was absolutely dragged around and beaten senseless by the Grid Corps, 47-16, immedietely after beating Ranoria. Doubt this team's gonna manage anything better than .500 anytime soon.

GFLB splurge cash to raid the RFL as they kick off free agency

BUSUKUMA, NATIONAL CAPITOL REGION- The GFLB Commissioner has talked, consistently, about how they are a league that needs to better position themselves for long-term success. "The cash is here, for sure." The Commissioner said in his state of the league address, a week before free agency kicked off. "Banija's got a literal exploding population, as well as a gridiron made populace, and a league that is getting better at marketing ourselves. We're in the Jack Hoy video game finally, for example." The GFLB and RFL Commissioners are known not to get along at all, despite co-chairing the bid and host committees for World Bowl L. And with day 1 of free agency, the GFLB went raiding.

First, a long-time goal of the GFLB Commissioner- Jack Hoy himself will finally play gridiron in Banija. The HB will play for the Hoima Zebra, who are suddenly loaded and seem to be clear Simba Bowl contenders. Jack Hoy got a massive contract- 6 year deal, that is now the biggest in Banijan sporting history- surpassing Diamond Rhine. He's a HB who not only doesnt' wear down over the course of a season- he doesn't get tired over the course of a game either. Combine that with the fact that you needed absolutely earth-shattering numbers to get him away from Ranoria, and you've got the man getting paid QB money to play for Hoima.

The Zebra have been long in pursuit of their man for years. And everything lined up perfectly. A-MV, the QB, was hurt last year, which hurt her value in extension talks. But not only that- she took a paycut on top of that, a very, very rare thing in this league, even for those selfless Chromatiks. Jack Hoy's jersey is, of course, flying off the shelves- the Zebra team website crashed as soon as they did the introduction. And, of course, they were fans at the airport, ready to greet him when he landed in Ankole. The hype is real- and he will deliver the Zebra their long-awaited Simba Bowl?

The time is now. And while the Zebra have been plotting this moment for years, the Busukuma Suns had some good fortune fall in their lap. They're in the same division as Hoima, of course- and while they've been poor for a while, they are ready for the moment. What happened? Well, the Busukuma Triceratops came calling, of the LPB- and signed him to be their star center fielder. Banija's brand new LPB squad signing him makes sense. But, then the Suns said, he's already in town. A world champion in two sports. Why not play for another Busukuma team?

And boom- the Suns have just splurged to get Rylan Rodgers Jr. to unretire, and go back to gridiron. That's right- he'll be a two-sport athlete. Triceratops will be his primary gig, and then he'll also be the starting HB for the Suns. "What a tremendous opportunity to get an elite HB here in Busukuma." The Suns GM said. "Everyone in the South Division is focused on Hoima- now that we've gotten this opportunity, we're gonna be aggressive."

And now, free agency is in full swing. We're only one day in. Expect more fireworks as teams get aggressive in their pursuit of the Simba Bowl.

Rumor Mill
- Kadesh Odika, with 1 year left on contract, says Jack Hoy deal is 'baseline' as he's in line for massive contract with Istria
- Jinja City Springboks in conflict with league office, as they accuse Commissioner of 'funneling' Jack Hoy to Hoima. Springboks did not get a meeting with Hoy's representatives.
- Bwubanza Ostriches fans are gathering in groups to hatewatch Diamond Rhine, as Ranoria Krauts TV ratings in greater Bwubanza rival the Serpent Eagles.

GFLB Commissioner, sitting in his office

The Commissioner was smoking a cigar. Indoors. Truly, this might be the greatest day of his life.

Not only was Jack Hoy in the GFLB- pure luck allowed Rylan Rodgers Jr. to sign with the Busukuma Suns. Two RBs from the RFL, in one day! It was a day worthy of an indoor cigar.

He checked his phone, smirked, and just texted a winky face to RFL Commissioner Rolf Annelie. The text bounced back- he was blocked. He simply laughed- he knew the RFL Commissioner was fuming.

NSFB: Tis But A Scratch

Postby TJUN-ia » Thu Aug 14, 2025 3:20 pm

After resting up during our bye, the Jaguars of TJUN-ia reentered the World Bowl 51 battle at 4-0 with 9 games still ahead of them. The road ahead of them was expected to be tough, with many potential pitfalls still left to navigate, but there were still incredible hope in the air and Gus McKerrin hoped to tap into that over this long stretch of games. So, how would this marathon start?

Terefuxe would be the next team to host us in this process, and The Regulars under Torren Tormundsun were certainly ready to fight in some capacity. Theodurus “Theo” Falkenburg was certainly the star for the hosts, with 3 TDs, but we were simply on another level out there as we showed no mercy. Moses Igbinoghene got 5 TDs, one via a rush and 2 each for Lucky Sithole-Sita and Yurilka Zelinskaya, with Gilbert Nyamutsamba grabbing a 2-point conversion while Glory Oparanozie made it 4/4 on PATs. The reserves managed to take us to 50 points in the end, with Jason Steels finding Carlton McSwane twice for the scores with Eleonora "Firefeet" Scafakou adding both extra points to make it 50-26 in the end.

Back at home, the Sea Peoples League would end up being the next people to enter the Field of Dreams in The Gardens of New Washington...although this time, things certainly felt different. This ended up being a low-scoring affair, one in which Igbinoghene only managed 2 TDs in a testament to the defensive job the visitors were pulling off. With all of that possession time but with little points to show for it, it allowed the visitors a rare opportunity to put us to the sword...and they didn't refuse that chance. 13-26, we finally fall...down to 5-1.

Well that sucked but again, still a long way to go and a big game up next. Divisional rematches are on the way as we take back-to-back road trips to face Cardenao and Of the Golden Harp on the horizon next.

Valanora Times
Heartlands Preview

The third season of the newly coined Silver Star League is soon to begin, as an offseason of signings, sells, and free agent deals have helped reshape the landscape of the league. In this two part series we are going to preview both conferences in the league, to give you our beloved readers, a good idea of who is likely going to be in contention for the Silver Star Cup at the end of the season and who will be left pondering what needs be done to be more competitive in the future. Will one of the other teams in the conference rise to shake off the grip that the Stormguard Stormbreakers have seemingly taken through the first two seasons or will this be the start of a dynasty here on the gridiron and Stormguard adding a second sport which they have one of the dominant teams in? With Stormguard already being the birthplace of ice hockey in the Empire, the citizens of the city will have quite high standards for the Stormbreakers, especially with back to back appearances in the first two title games. Yet the other seven sides in the conference have not sat idly by and allowed them to hold the top spot without any fight.

You can not talk about the conference without talking about Stormgaurd and the way they have ran riot through the conference in the first two seasons of competition and are likely favored to do so again. With a good offensive line and Toshi Sánchez as the leading receiver, the offense can move the ball well but they lack any real star power behind the wideout. They have a good if aging defense and that might be where the rest of the conference thinks they are going to be able to perhaps try to take advantage of the team. That being said if the Stormbreakers are not among the top two or three fighting for the conference crown, it will come as a huge shock as although they lack any real starpower they are a really well put together team with good coaching and that should probably be enough to keep them in contention.

One of those teams looking to bolster both the quality on the field as well as the coveted star factor is the team from the capital, who after an ugly first season in the league reached into their pocketbooks to sign home town hero Imran Håland after he graduated from NSCF champions Raynor University. The dual threat running back helped the Starfire to five additionally wins in their second season but they were still two wins back of Stormguard and finished fourth in the conference behind both Turbani and Tavesian who earned ten wins a piece. There was a rumor going around that the Starfire were in talks to acquire national team talent Nikolas Isaksen as a wideout and edge rusher Kasper Ulvestad in a growing trend of players fleeing Ranoria, but if true it never came to be. Without some key additions on the defensive end though the Starfire are going to struggle to crack the elite tier and give the city a team of champions as they are so accustomed to in the imperial capital.

Turbani and Travesian are the two other major contenders in the group, being somewhat of a surprise as they are not known for being having great professional teams being a bit out of the way and not major urban centers, even if both have universities in their cities. Turbani is built on a rock solid defense, which was heads and shoulders better than anyone else in the league and makes it no surprise that they have six players from their starting defense on the national team including both defensive tackles. Quite difficult to run against and corners who play great man or zone, scoring on them is a difficult proposal but the lack of a single great skill player on offense probably keeps them from truly competing for the conference title. Travesian is much in the same mold but their defense is in no way the same caliber as Turbani and the Mustangs rely more on brute force than skill to move the ball. A heavy running attack is also how Turbani does it but at least the Orange Knights have a star fullback to lead the way in their ground and pound, while Travesian has a rotating door at the back position, though it gets the work done fairly well enough to keep them a step ahead of most of the competition.

None of the four other teams in the conference have much going for them and the worst is somehow the Mar Sara Wildcats, which flies in the face of everything we know about sporting teams in Mar Sara typically being among the best in the Empire. There is a discussion that they are suffering from having to compete against a GFLB team in Mar Sara, as the Night Elves have long been established in the city and play in a richer, more prominent league. With having a two time NSCF champion university in the city, you would think that the Wildcats would have a nice pipeline of players to choose from but it has not been the case and unlike the Starfire in Raynor City, they have not even been able to snag one headline player to help in the recruitment process. That will need to change if the Wildcats want to get up off the floor of the conference and be trending towards the top, until then them, Monaven, Sharala, and Longview all look like mere bumps in the road as the top half of the conference battle it out for supremacy and the right to make it to the title game.

Legacy of the Firehawk
Mamma Mi(o)a

Who is the spiritual heart of the Iron Legion? Many would say Sarai Gwenderyn, the superstar Quarterback. Others may point to the duo of Park Mi-Hyeon and Jere Rinaldi, the inside linebacking duo that have been playing out of their minds during this campaign as the offense continues to struggle from time to time.

However, if you ask those who truly have a pulse on how the Iron Legion are faring, there is only one correct answer to that question: Alessandra Mio, the Wide Receiver who put Chromatik gridiron on the map, the best friend of Sarai Gwenderyn, the sister to Victoria Mio, and the player who is definitely playing in her last tournament as a Iron Legion player.

It's hard to believe that when Alessandra Mio first put on pads, there was no semblance of organized Gridiron in Chromatika. Sure, she played high school gridiron - East Omnio High School's one ounce of fame was the fact that they won Season 2 of the Chromatik High School Gridiron system back in the days when there were barely twenty schools participating - but it wasn't till her Junior year at Felswyr State University (now Mountain District) that she could play ball at the collegiate level. It was there that she met a young phenom by the name of Sarai Gwenderyn, and the two immediately became a lethal combination that have lasted through more than a decade of playing together both for the Firehawks, the Ranorian Football League, and at the international level.

Alessandra isn't the type to speak a lot - her younger sister, Victoria, does enough of that for both Mios - but when she talks, the whole world pauses to listen. She leads by example, putting the team and her longevity ahead of everything else, putting in the work in both the gym and the film room, and giving it her all on the field. Her top-notch speed has slowed down in her age, but the quickness of her first step cannot be denied, and the finesse with which she runs routes crisply and absolutely on time makes her a continual threat in the vertical passing game of the Iron Legion. Throw in the fact that she can basically finish Gwenderyn's sentences, and it's no surprise that she returned for at least one more campaign.

To say that it's been a slog for the Iron Legion offense in the first six games of this World Bowl campaign would be an understatement. It's the offensive line that has struggled the most, both in keeping the pressure off of the Quarterback - regardless of whether it's Gwenderyn or Vivayavich - as well as clearing the way for the bevy of backs in the Iron Legion's arsenal. There have been moments where Alessandra has been taken off of the field as the team's needed receivers who are better at blocking than her to come in and help out, choosing to use her when the situation is best for a route-running speedster instead. She's taken everything in stride, never complained a peep, and continues to be a mentor to every single player in the Iron Legion - the model of a consummate professional.

Off the field, she's a philanthropist, being both a major part of Sarai Gwenderyn's Rainbow Foundation (with involvement from Keira Andisori, as well as many other famous Chromatiks), running a Receiver's Camp in the summer for high school players, and being a published author of a series of science fiction novels that are doing rather well. She's engaged to a journalist to be married in the fall, has a great relationship with her younger sister, and seems to have everything put together.

There is only one thing she hasn't accomplished yet - and that very thing is what keeps her coming back to the gridiron field, at least for this one time. She's won at every level - high school, collegiate, and the pros - but never at the international level. Just as Chromatika has been capped at the World Bowl, so has Alessandra Mio - and that very fact haunts her still.

"We've been close so many times," she lamented when asked about it before this tournament, "I understand that at some time, you have to bow to time and say that you've had your chances and gone as far as you can. I don't think I'm there yet. I think we have the potential to do something special with the team that we have, and I believe that I am someone who can actually contribute to that in a meaningful way. That's why I'm here."

That quiet confidence, that assured behavior, that insistence that encourages everyone else to step up to the next level while making it very clear that it won't be easy - it's not everyday that you meet a human being yet alone a player that can portray that so well.

It's exactly what Alessandra Mio does every minute of every day, as she has done in the past, as she probably will for the rest of her life.

Never in the history of Chromatik sports has there been anyone like her, and the likelihood of someone else coming along in the future with this personality is very slim if not impossible. It's yet another reason why it would be such a shame if Chromatika fell short in this tournament - and another reason why they simply cannot.

It's not every day that so much pressure is placed upon a team like this, but when all the facts line up to indicate it, there is no denying it. All that's left is to embrace it - and either fall short while giving it your best effort, or accomplish it in spite of all to fulfill what was once considered to be just a part of the destiny that seemed to be in Chromatika's path.

Alessandra Mio will be giving it her all to make sure that the latter happens, and if she could have it her way, she would lead everyone else to do the very same.

If that isn't enough? Then, it simply wasn't meant to be. At least they could walk off with their heads held high, knowing that they tried their very best.
