✣CANZARIA QUOTIDIANO✣

LA NAZIONALE FALLS AFTER FIERCE DUEL WITH TAXHAVN

In an unlikely twist of events, Oscioru put on a show against one of the giants of the competition in Taxhavn. Despite playing with some substitutes, those were the ones that did the damage for la nazionale, as the changes in their lineup were unexpected and not what it was prepared for. However, Oscioru's fluidity on the pitch and that magnificent goal by Matteo Alcazar from the half-way line will be the main topics to remember from this game.

INTENSITY IN FIRST HALF: Both teams forgot the meaning of defense throughout the entirety of the first half. Oscioru maintained pace and was on par with the Taxhavn side, despite the quick opener by Benno Tschaggeny, courtesy of Rollo Heron who was a menace throught the entire match. Xavi Bosch would soon score the equaliser after a great run through the Shillingmen defence which saw him striking the ball on the left side of the net. Swift cooperation by the Taxhavn attack saw Rollo Heron score his first goal of the game on the 27th minute and then Oscioru had a tight hold of the ball, desperately looking to make things even. La Nazionale found its breakthrough on the 32nd minute with a Kalogeru ROCKET that left Victor van Drop unable to react. However, it was not meant to be as Rollo Heron would go on a rampage and complete the hat-trick, giving a 4-2 scoreline by half-time.

THAT MATTEO ALCAZAR WORLDY: The latter stage of the game was not as intensive as it was initially. HOWEVER, hope sparked early on in the second half after Matteo Alcazar would spot Victor van Drop off position. A back pass by Kalogeru and a shot containing the entire strength of the nation headed all the way in the back of the net, sending the nation to cloud 9. La Nazionale would try to use the momentum to get at least a draw but the Shillingmen's defence was too tight. Iker Vassallo was the unluckiest man of the match, with two of his shots hitting the crossbar, leaving the crowd in awe and wondering what might have been, had those shots gone in.

Next matchday is against Aclan, one of the weaker links in the group and a team that La Nazionale has a big chance to defeat. All eyes are on De Casio and the tactics he will implement on his squad, while also being hopeful for a spot in the knockout stages. Fans in Saterun as well as back home will be hoping to see some good football from the lads and hopefully the first good run out of many.

Well the Zeiten they are amverändern and while it was especially geschmacklos sexually provocative acts from young people like not wearing a Zylinder or abrasierten away your Schnurrbart that erregten the attention and entzündetentempers and trousers on the daily when flanieren the streets of fair Brinterberg the root of the Verdorbenheit was often verortet elsewhere.

And while the Horkenheimers’ energiegeladene but ultimately zwecklose attempts at playing football abroad was no doubt seen as an essential part of that toxischer Mischmasch that slowly but steadily was zerfressend the very virtues making up the Grundstein of the Gemeinschaft they were not the only Problemfall and perhaps not even the most dringendste.

Because while you’d think that these kinds of abweichlerische shifts in norms and virtues would exclusively be a Fremdkörper like a Parasitenwesen or Gesellschaftskrebs coming from beyond the mountains and infizierend impressionable youth it now seemed like the Krankheit verbreitend unwholesome ideas had made its way to the very heart of one of the main Wortspender of Seebergundian public discourse namely the state-owned broadcaster SeeTV.

To begin with they had the Frechheit to actually air all of the Horkenheimers’ games from beyond the mountains including that opening defeat against das Haus von Choppen and obviously it would have a negativen Einfluss on youth and most everyone being able to not only read about their Eskarpaden in the papers or listen to them herumkicken over the radio but also view this tragic show of un-gemeinschaftliches behavior in bewegte Bilder.

But even though this was surely schlimm genug and most likely one of the very deep root causes of all these gesellschaftliche Übel according to those who felt like most everything was verrücktwärtsgehend of which there were many keine Frage this was not the only vergammelte Etwas in SeeTV because their entertainment section had recently started herumexperimentieren with shows that would make any decent and self-respecting Bürger choke on their Flamküchen because they had started dabbling in the verruchte Genre of hidden camera comedy

They called it Pardon my Straflosigkeit and if that doesn’t tell you everything you need to know then I suspect you are one of those not empört by the violently umwandelnder Zeitgeist and that’s fine because I’m not here to judge but merely beschreiben as a neutraler Beobachter which is a bit how the people down at the entertainment section of SeeTV operierten doing their new show just in the Nähe of their offices on the end of Neues Altes Rathaus Straße just off from Saiteninstrument Platz in the rustikalen Heilige Birgitta quarter which was one of the angesagten Bezirke in town as the kids would call it.

Some of the installments were harmlos genug and I’m sure even the griesgrämigste Reiter or altes Schule psychology professor would be able to werfen an eye on the so-called pranks and zusammenkratzen a tiny smile but some of their more gewagteren Segmente were surely enough to verzwirbeln the moustaches of even the standhaftesten Geiger like when they würfelten and the different numbers of the dice entsprachen schalkhafte Streiche they would begehen on innocent bystanders like how 5 equaled herunterrennen Rheingutstraße and bespritzen people in the face with custard and then scream "Abspritzen!" which was just in extrem schlechter Geschmack.

And it was perhaps no surprise that the show only durchhielt for three episodes before it was abgesetzt but zu wenig zu spät many said because the Kaviar war aus der sprichwörtlichen Tube and no matter how hard you tried to zurückquetschen it was unmöglich.

It was alles out there now

Group Stage Mercantilism

Schedule

MD1: vs. Solgavden L 0-1 (4th)
MD2: @ Crpostran
MD3: BYE
MD4: @ Calgasia
MD5: @ The Golden Harp

It happens every single time the Dhemixian National Team steps onto a field to start yet another tournament. Without fail.

Like clockwork, every time they begin yet another tournament, they're always destined to dig themselves into a hole and be forced to come all the way back to escape the group stage. Quite literally every single tournament the Serpents have been a part of (save for WCQ, if they got into the proper at all before now it would be greatly concerning to the state of the competition now) apart from their debut, IAC 22, has seen them get down early and claw back. In their BoF, they entered the last MD needing a win and got a huge one, 6-1 against Island Fusion only to then lose in the SF and win the 3PPO. In CoH 90, they got bested by Cobrio to open the tournament, before winning out (including a victory in the inaugural "Battle for the D" against Drawkland), to get utterly dismantled in the QF by Omerica. In CoH 91, the Dhemixians lost to Valentine Z to start the group stage and then practically won out and clinched top 4, resulting in two straight losses to bounce them in the QFs. Even in IAC 23, the most recent past edition of this tournament, they lost to Indusse to start and then got royally bailed out by beating the hosts, Recuecn, on the final MD, allowing Aphrilia to eliminate the Serpents in the Ro16. It's shaping up to go the exact same way in the next edition too, as the Dhemixians started IAC 24 play with yet another opening loss. Should this pan out into what we've seen before, they'll bumble into second in the group and get dematerialized against a team like Juvencus. This is NOT a good pattern to be the perpetrator of, and it's only furthering opposing fans' ideas towards the truth:

The Serpents are Group Stage Merchants.

It's not just opposing fans either, the Dhemixian fanbase is starting to believe that the team they support is practicing Group Stage Mercantilism too. No matter how much promise they show every tournament, no matter how special their run gets, no matter how many people say "this is our tournament!", it's the exact same failure every single time. Now, this could be explained by leaving it at one of two things: 1. The Dhemixian NT is just bad at football (bad option), or 2: Margaret hates us and the luck will turn around someday (good option). The longer they're trapped in this cyclical purgatory of football mediocrity, similar to that of Eastfield Lodge's fate for the most part of their FA's existence, the more you begin to realize that the Dhemixians are just plain bad. On paper, they should be in one of the top two spots in the group, as they're one of two sides in the top two pots, but in practice, losing to a pot 5 Solgavden squad is about the best they can play. Without any goals entering the late stages, the Dhemixians as a whole were demoralized, be it by the score of the match, them doing terribly domestically, or both. This was the perfect time for the Royal Reds to strike, when Dhemixian momentum is at its least, and they didn't miss. The Solgavish captain, 36-year-old Sig Halvorsan drove a stake through the Serpents' heart late, as his 79th minute strike from 25 yards out found the top corner past a leaping Wesley Williamson. In what ended up being a match of terrible form for the Serpents, Doug McMahon has to corral this team to win out and gain momentum if they want a shot at sniffing the top 2. That quest through to the single elimination Round of 16 will require getting at the very least a point against Crpostran and winning out after that, something Doug McMahon absolutely has to find a way to do. We'll just see if he can turn this squad around and take the Dhemixians to the promised land, or if he'll strand them in the group stage once again.
It's empty.

Fontecoro, Saterun

Twenty minutes into the first game of the Independents Association Championship, and Solgavden was already struggling. The Dhemixians were fierce opponents, and they seemed to repel everything the Solgavs threw at them. Solgavish forward Hannes Ossler knew this first hand, as goalkeeper Wesley Williamson just saved a shot from him that he was sure was going to go in. After Williamson proceeded to deflect the subsequent corner with ease, Ossler knew he was in for a long day.

It wasn't all doom and gloom however. Solgavden knew Dhemixia was going to be one of their tougher opponents, and they would have to give 100% of their effort if they wanted to squeak out a win. Fortunately, Solgavden were no strangers to facing off against superior opponents on paper, and weren't afraid of the challenge. For the Solgavs, the name of the game was to deny their opposition possession of the ball, slowly whittling down their defense until the time was right to strike. However, the Dhemixians still had fight in them, and the Solgavish strategy seemed to be ineffective until the second half. There was an unusually high amount of Solgavish and Dhemixian fans in the foreign arena, and they were growing restless.

The Dhemixians especially seemed to be frazzled by the crowd noise, as the team slowly became less disciplined. A sloppy pass here and a missed touch there was all the Solgavs needed as they begin to mount up the pressure. Then, like a house of cards, it all came tumbling down for Dhemixia. After a blown coverage by a Dhemixian defender, Sig Halvorsan soon found himself wide open in the opposing half. After a getting a touch on a pass volleyed by Ossler, Halvorsan ran at break neck pace towards the goal, and ripped a shot past Williamson in the top corner, all but securing victory for the Solgavs. The Solgavish side of the stadium errupted at the beautiful goal, while the Dhemixian side seemed distraught. With the victory, Solgavden looks to have an actually chance at making it out of their hellish group, but their next match against Calgasia may be their hardest test yet.

3rd Women's Kopa Riandera Finals (2008)
Singapura City W (1) v/s Makassar FC W (0), full-time

Commentator: And... we have a winner! Singapura City are the champions of the third Women's Kopa Riandera!

Zhamanta: Wow! I wanna be one of the players on that team when I grow up!

Zhamanta's mom: Hmm. I can see you as one of them!

17 years later...

Zhamanta: Well, here I am. 17 years ago, I wanted to be here, and now I am. My mama said she could see me here 17 years ago.

Ira: Wait... really?

Zhamanta: Yes. And yesterday we earned a victory against Grand Exultia.

Ayu: Mhm. I helped with that.

*Anggrek enters the field to see what the Rafflesia are doing*

Rizal: Today, we temporarily bowed out, but tomorrow...

Anggrek: You guys will be facing the Osnari Federation. So get cracking, Raffs!

Zhamanta: Yes, Madam.

Anggrek: Good. I will be bringing Krishna as well to see how well you lot are doing.

----

Anggrek: Hello, Krish.

Krishna: Good afternoon, Anggrek. Any news?

Anggrek: No. I'd just like you to see how much more confident they are when they're playing. Not overconfident, but still confident.

Krishna: Alright. Please take me there.

----

Krishna: Ahh. Now I know what you mean!

Anggrek: You always knew it, but you needed proof.

*Zhamanta and Ira chattering to the others in the background*

Anggrek: And that's why I told them to get cracking.

Krishna: Our Raffs are somewhere in the middle. Right?

Anggrek: Correct.

A DISAPPOINTING LOSS CAME FOR THE BLUE SUNS AGAINST APHRILIA
Ias, Saterun

The Blue Suns have trained hard to face against their tough opponents, the Aphrilians. It was the first match for them after being byed out of the group to prepare more. It was the last match for the Visayans in Ias to go to Xaiv to face against Sajnur. But first, they need to face the experienced Aphrilians as in the first half, Sarah O'Winchester have faced Marasigan where she could intercept it to Theo Cooper and went on to Rosberg, who opened the game with a goal over Ortega's net, and celebrated it. Even though the Aphrilian Anchors have dominated some of the defense provided by the Visayans, the Blue Suns never gave up and before the whistle goes for the half time, Cheon passes on to Rahman, and Rahman goes to Viray to score a goal for the Blue Suns. He went wild and jumping over to the crowd to get crazy. In the second half, the Visayans were holding on to their draw to make sure that the Aphrilians never score again until a foul committed by the substitute Yasser Pangantihon. And Forrestal scored the penalty that gave the Visayans their loss in the game. "Our defense is lacking up unfortunately.", says Ayala. "Next game will be against Sajnur, so we should point out our mistakes and hopefully, go to the second round." The Visayans will go to Xaiv to face both Sajnur and Oriental of Rio de la Plata in Hymes Road. Will the Visayan Blue Suns actually qualify to the second round for the first time?

Aclan 2-2 Taxhavn
Here We Go Again

The flop is on

The Shillingmen threw away a two-goal lead to unfancied Aclan to snatch a draw from the jaws of victory, leaving them short of their target to win the first two group matches. With tougher opponents to follow and wins likely hard to come by, the doom and gloom merchants will suggest the tournament is already over again for the disappointing Taxhavnites, who just can't seem to get going in the Indies.

All seemed on track and in hand as Arrigo Napoleoni and then new Taxhavnite hero Benno Tshaggeny scored before the half hour was up, and though there were no more goals before half time, Taxhavn seemed in control of their destiny. But as they say, that third goal is often the crucial one, and it came along just six minutes after the restart, and it was the Aclanians who got it. Without a teamsheet I can only tell you it was Johnny Striker #9 with the goal that unnerved the Shillingmen and started the collapse. Ten minutes later Bob Substitute hit the inevitable equaliser, while Armando Triquartista, Johnny Striker and Archimedes FitzMidfielder all went close to winning it for Aclan. On balance of play over ninety minutes a draw was about fair, but Taxhavn did everything they could to throw it all away.

Luis Glücki picked up a knock and will likely miss the next match against Tanirinthia, which you can't see them winning but somehow they are going to have to get points to progress. Coach Nelis Fijnwever was well renowned for pulling the impossible out of the bag at club level, and that's a talent he's going to need to draw on now. Or we all go home after the group matches, as usual.

Tenuous Connections
Albyn Bridge & Valentin Fey

Knut gets the starter for ten

Gnejsian dog-walker Karl-Johan Vaasa (63) and his friend Knut Svensson (65) had joined a couple of television celebrities on the Shilling Mountain Special - the train following the scenic route to Maartenstadt International Airport and beyond. They had organised a day trip to the airport to indulge their third favourite hobby - plane-spotting. Their first favourite hobby of course was football tourism, travelling all about watching the wierd and wonderful of multiversal soccer. Their second hobby was dog-walking. To tell the truth this was more Karl-Johan’s hobby, but Knut usually liked to tag along… for the exercise, you see?

«Mrrrrrrr, rolff!» - that was Hardly-Knut, the dog. A Rushmori rock terrier. He wasn’t especially interested in plane spotting but he liked a good day out and was enjoying showing off his vocabulary to their celebrity companions. Like Knut, he was also tagging along for the exercise.

The celebrities were unbeatable champion of Tenuous Connections, Etienne Kobblers - himself a train driver although he wasn't working this particular shift - and the show's alluring fact-checker and cohost Tammy Snopes, who always looks so alluring in a silky blouse, with those alluringly huge glasses of hers. So intelligent and... alluring. Did I mention that already? How alluring she is? Hardly-Knut was quite taken with her. The five travelling companions had decided to have a little game of Tenuous Connections on their train ride over the mountains. Tammy had set out the challenges for the match - they would take it in turns, and whoever's go it was would have until they pulled in to the next station to make a tenuous connection between that station, and a player on the national team who were about to head out to Saterun for the Independent Associations Championship. The person who had taken the previous go was to nominate a player for the tenuous connection.

Karl-Johan and his friend Knut couldn't quite believe their luck about being invited to sit with the celebs and play at quizzing with them. The Gnejsian tourists were big fans of the show. As it happened Etienne & Tammy would be going to Saterun too, for an international special IAC-themed edition of Tenuous Connections, featuring some contestants from other nations who also happened to be at the tournament. So they considered this a bit of practice for them.

«Valentin Fey!» said Karl-Johan, who had started this whole thing off by randomly announcing a rather tenuous connection between St. Bernadine Grand Bullion Station and Taxhavn striker Rollo Heron, while the two football tourists collected autographs from Etienne and Tammy.

'Alright,' said Tammy, 'Knut, we're heading to Albyn Bridge, so can you make a tenuous connection between Albyn Bridge and Valentin Fey?'

«Mrrrrrrr, rolff-rolff-rolff!» suggested Hardly-Knut.

«Come on now, Hardly,» protested Karl-Johan, «don't give him any clues!»

Tammy laughed delightedly at the eccentric Gnejsians and their precocious rock terrier. She mistakenly thought they were joking.

«It's quite an easy one anyway,» said Knut, «I would've got it without Hardly-Knut chipping in. Albyn Bridge station is in the district of St. Albyn, the home of Dandelion Town FC, who have recently been purchased by our fellow countrymen Georg Bardo, Hibiskus Andersson and Mikkel Bukt. Mikkel played at Benson Foxes until this season, also the team of Ozan Welch of Tikariot and Oleg Anikin of Pyazhnya (or however you say Pyazhnyy); Tikariot and, err, Pyazhnaya?, are part of the commonwealth including Norrheims. Recently, Orchideeën signed youth keeper Svante Sigurdsson from Norrhems Fotbollsakademin; Valentin Fey is the star winger of Orchideeën.»

«Rolff!» agreed Hardly-Knut.

'Wow,' said Etienne Kobblers, sincerely impressed with Knut's knowledge of youth team transfer news.

'That's a connection!' announced Tammy, using one of her show catchphrases.

Knut and Hardly-Knut did a low-five (he's only a rock terrier, he couldn't reach a high-five unless he was being carried), while Karl-Johan grumbled about their collaboration being outside of the rules. But he wasn't an especially bad sport, so it was only a mild grumble and he soon forgave his friends of their indiscretion.

Players getting Dropped?

By Subrato Shahla

The Indussean Football Association has been saying for a long time that there is going to be a mass rework in the squad. Adding a confirmation to this claim, the association had informed that this is subjected to happen as soon as the World Cup 100 Season begins. When the whole of the sporting world would be hyped for the 100th edition of the World Cup, those in Indusse would be preparing for a major overhaul of their entire football ecosystem.

While all these claims were going around, a press release was made by the Indussean Football Association publishing the list of players that are going to be dropped as well as the list of prospective players that could join the camp. The Association mentioned that at the end of the IAC, they will call for a press meet announcing the final changes and publishing a plan for the commencement of the "The Centennial Era". The Plan is codenamed "Mission 100" as of now.

This warning will apply to my future roleplays for the IAC as well. I am planning to write a story revolving around an aviation accident. Two aircraft will collide after a fatal error by Air Traffic Control, taking the life of former Edsmon player and icon Stentdon Beirbern and his family.

Highway 65, Ysteven, Dieusig, Edsmontik

3:16PM, Thursday, July 8th, 2032

"I can't believe we went the wrong way."

"I told you to take that exit!" Kaera said, shaking her head.

"Look, I didn't see it, our GPS told us to go straight!"

"Well now it's a good forty more minutes added to that clock!"

"Not unless we go fast!"

The Beirberns had accidentally skipped the airport exit and were now speeding down Deiusig's Suberhighway towards Ysteven and Kolldar. Luckily, on this highway, the speed limit was 100 mph. It didn't seem safe to allow cars to go that fast, but hopefully it'd be helpful in making the now sixty-mile drive shorter. Stenton floored the SUV, making the speedometer hit the red section. The Modesich Tzvaibund soared to 103 mph, and Stenton quickly switched into the fast lane.

"Why are we going so fast?" Ilsen asked, looking up from his game.

"Well..." Stenton began, "We went the wrong way."

"And we can't be late!" Kaera yelled, motioning for Stentdon to focus.

Around the Beirberns were other cars, also going around the same speed. In the "slow" lane, there were people driving at 60 mph. However, in the fast lane, cars were going up to 120 mph. It was like a race: dozens of cars ripping across the asphalt at top speed, all trying to get to their destinations on time.

The Deiusig Suberhighway is one of the many Suberhighways in Edsmontik. Suberhighways are different- they offer high speed limits and lots of lanes. More lanes than regular highways. No one has ever renamed the signs to say Suberhighway, but it didn't matter anyways. It was just a larger highway after all.

"Now, it'd be a real shame if our engine... you know, like, blew up."

"Vienna! Don't jinx it!"

The 2029 Modesich Tzvaibund Turbo was fast, but due to the obvious use as more of an offroad and city vehicle, it wasn't meant to hold speeds of 100+ mph for extended periods of time. Sure, it could, but that would wear down the engine pretty quickly. If anything, Vienna was right. The engine could blow, knowing that the SUV would be going at this speed for over forty minutes.

The car rumbled slightly, causing a mild panic attack for everyone.

"Let's hope that was just a tiny, tiny speed bump." Stenton said, slamming the accelerator down even further to send the car into the 110 mph zone.

The rumbling grew in sound and length, as the car shook once again. It was dead silent in the car as Stentdon let the accelerator off, slowing back down to 95 mph.

"Maybe let off the gas? You've cut a lot of time in just that straight. We went through a fifteen minute stretch in five." Kaera said, slightly worried.

The family continued down the Suberhighway, sailing past car after car, before switching lanes just another five minutes later. Now in the slow lane, Stentdon let the Tzvaibund slow down to 70 mph and kept his eye out for the exit. Once it was in view, he turned onto the off ramp, crossed the bridge, and circled back onto the highway, now going in the other direction.

"This time, we'll make it."

"I swear if you miss the exit again!"
Matchday 2: Edsmontik v. Sudilia - @ Crescent Arena, Ias, Saterun

11:00 AM, Thursday, July 15th, 2032

It was on. Edsmontik was now playing their first game after the matchday 1 BYE and had to make an impact. Sudilia was supposedly the second strongest in the group, just behind the Edsmons themselves. If they lost or drew, it'd be a big let down for the fans.

The game was already in its second half. Edsmontik had slammed the defense of Sudilia several times, but no one was breaking through. After all of that training, they were stuck.

Stuero did his best, dribbling around the Sudilians and showing his huge cabinet of ball skills, but it wouldn't be enough to score. The defenders always got to him, whether it was a strong tackle, block, or header.

"Svaardaen, get open." Stuero said, mid-match. "I'm NOT going to pass to you!"

The youngster nodded and swooped past defenders, who were trailing him. It wouldn't be easy, but it'd have to work. If the defenders could fall for the obvious trick, Stuero would have a fairly open shot. Not super open, but enough space to land a beautiful one into the top corner.

"Breathe, come on!" Stuero muttered to himself.

With one step, he sent the defender behind him slipping. Step one, complete.

He fired a fake-pass, tricking some other players into attempting to block. Step two, done and dusted.

Now, he had to finish step three. Score. One flick of the ball sent it soaring to net, ripping up the air, and zooming past the keeper's outstretched hands.

1-0, Edsmontik leads.

HUElavia 0–1 Reçueçn
(Konig 1')
Racetrack Road, Anasb, Saterun

TERRORISMBALL HAS TERRORIZED HUELAVIA!

HUElavia lose in a horrid display against a defensively stout Reçueçn to open up IAC 24.

After having to sit out Matchday 1 due to being the Top seeded team, HUElavia finally was up for their debut, and it was none other than Reçueçn. Reçueçn, one of HUElavia's many, many sporting rivals in the multiverse that has brought many classics in both the IAC and World Cup Qualifiers before. Now, one of the 'Indies Classics' was upon Saterun, as fans from both teams flocked to Racetrack Road in Anasb to cheer on their respective teams. With the A-Team out for both teams, there was much anticipation that this could be another exciting matchup in the history of this rivalry and the IAC.

To say that this game was terrible is an understatement. From the opening kickoff, Wolf kicked off the ball, passing it back to Streuli, who began to run and get covered by Yepes, before putting in a pass into the box to Adams, who took a shot that Ancel blocked, only for Konig to appear and hit the ball into the goal on the rebound, right at 34 seconds into the match. A shocking goal conceded by HUElavia, who seemed like they were just waking up, making it the earliest conceded goal in HUElavian football history. Coach Casillas began to bark orders as Los Amarillos/Os Amarelos began to walk back to center circle to kick off again while Konig was mobbed by their teammates and the bench for the early goal. From there, one could look at the match in two ways: Either this was horrid terrorismball or a masterful defensive display. Any way HUElavia tried to attack, the Recuecnians would snuff out attacks. Milano couldn't get a goal in, neither Arruda, nor starlet Serra. Under guidance from Coach Lebouffe, Reçueçn would park the bus and really push away attacks from HUElavia throughout the rest of the match. As time ticked on and on, the HUElavians in the crowd began to whistle and boo Reçueçn on the ball, but even louder when Los Amarillos/Os Amarelos would miss a great shot. The best shot HUElavia had all game was in the 52nd minute, when a pass from Kim got to Milano, who would take a shot past a stretching Firaut to hit the outer post and head out for a goal kick. Ancel would make blocks and saves for HUElavia, but for the most part, HUElavia could not get it going at all. After 4 minutes of additional time, the referee blew their whistle, which the Reçueçnians were cheering in joy while the HUElavians were whistling and jeering at the performance.

HUElavia opens up in a terrible fashion as they sit in 4th Place with 0 Points (0-0-1), behind Group Leaders Reçueçn, who have 6 Points (2-0-0), 2nd place Riandera who have 3 Points (1-0-0, +1 GD), Osnari Federation in 3rd Place with 3 Points (1-0-1, -1 GD), and Grand Exultia in 5th with 0 Points (0-0-2, -2 GD). Coach Casillas in the post-match conference had this to say: "We're sorry to our fans that came out and to the whole country for our performance today. We have no excuse for what we put out there, especially for how we're known to be in the Multiverse. It was a difficult match and kudos to Coach Lebouffe for being prepared and having a better game plan than us. We have a lot of training and film study to do, and we owe the country a better performance on the next matchday. We still count on our fans to show up and cheer us on, but we're terribly sorry for the performance we gave." HUElavia will take on Grand Exultia, in what is a win-or-go-home match for both teams, with no margin of error allowed for either team. It will be a tense match up, but the fans, despite their frustrations, are hopeful that the team to perform well and get a much needed victory. On to the next one and may we give it our all!

BVC SHORT - Strangely, Britonisea seems to have the best record of any nation participating at the Independents Association Championships 24 - everyone is rather stunned. Though, all is not what it seems as the nation has played two teams that are ranked lower than them in the KPB+ rankings - so does it really count? For the sake of celebrating all things Britonish (and our mental health), it does! The match against Sixty-Nine X saw Britonisea win 6-1 in a match that was probably the Britonish team's best ever performance in an international match. The Britonish were stunned they were able to get more than two goals, never mind six, but the scoreline meant that it is Britonisea, home of the hugely successful and unforgettable 22nd Independents Cup which has the biggest win of the tournament so far. Muralos was no match for the Britonish men who beat them without conceding a single goal. Now here's the catch. The only two games that we have left are against hosts Saterun and Valentine Z, nations who are ranked in the top ten of the IAC participating nations. Now, Britonisea only really needs one more win, ideally against hosts Saterun in the next match, to guarantee that they will qualify for the knock-out stage of the IAC24 - something the team couldn't even do at its own tournament. With Saterun already having one loss, losing against Britonisea (who already has two wins) it would scupper their chances of going further in the tournament. Drawing could be okay for the Britonish as currently the goal difference Britonisea has compared to Saterun (or, well, any nation in the IAC) is quite high, but that could change when Valentine Z has a chance against Britonisea. Thus, for Saterun, beating Britonisea is a necessity. It will be an interesting match - a match that you'll be able to watch across the BTVB.

Ice in Her Veins: The Rise of United Adaikes’ 24-Year-Old Phenom
By Murray Guerra, United Adaikes Football Weekly

Mieteng, Saterun — At just 24 years old, Leire Page has already become the face of United Adaikes’ resurgence in international football. With three goals in two matches—two of them ice-cool penalties—she has emerged as the team’s most reliable finisher. But behind the composure lies a player who, until last year, had never set foot on a professional pitch.

The Backstory: From Fishing Villages to Football Stardom

Page grew up in Ngadabrigg, a coastal town where football was played on rocky beaches between fishing boats. Her father, a former semi-pro goalkeeper, trained her in secret after local clubs refused to take girls. At 17, she pledged to the academy of the North Shil Silent Vipers, where she also worked part-time as a kit assistant to pay for training.

Her breakthrough came last season, when an injury crisis forced North Shil to field her. She scored a hat-trick in her debut—and hasn’t looked back since.

Handling the Pressure

Against Delaclava, Page buried a penalty under immense pressure. Against Natkr, she did it again—then added a sublime solo goal. Teammates call her "The Ice Princess" for her unshakable nerve.

"I’ve waited my whole life for this," Page told reporters after the Natkr win. "When I step up, I don’t hear the crowd. I just see the ball and the net."

Coach Leonel Nuñez trusts her implicitly: "Leire plays like she’s been here for a decade. That’s rare."

But the real test looms: Can she keep delivering as expectations soar?

From Chaos to Control: How Nuñez Fixed United Adaikes’ Defensive Woes
By Shana Gabriels, The Adaikesian Football Review

After United Adaikes’ frenetic 3-2 loss to Delaclava, critics slammed their high defensive line and midfield gaps. But in just four days, Leonel Nuñez engineered a stunning turnaround—culminating in a 2-0 shutout of Natkr. Here’s how:

Key Adjustments:
1. The Double Pivot: Nuñez abandoned his 4-4-2 for a 4-3-3, deploying Hardy Frost as a forward and Freddy Benton as a defensive midfielder for another line for the defensive shields. This stopped counterattacks at the source.
2. Page as False Nine: Instead of isolating striker Fito Conway, Nuñez let Leire Page roam between lines, dragging defenders out of position.
3. Pressing Triggers: Against Delaclava, UAD pressed wildly. Now, they only engage when opponents face their own goal—a tweak that conserved energy.

The Result?
-Natkr managed just 0.7 expected goals (xG)—a stark drop from Delaclava’s 2.9.
-Page’s penalty came from a forced error after sustained pressing.
-Goalkeeper Maria Tobin had her easiest night in months.

"We overcomplicated things," Nuñez admitted. "Now, we play smarter."

Next up: Strayaroos Barrier Islands. If Nuñez’s system holds, United Adaikes could take a giant step toward the knockouts.

Two to one is how The Anchors kick things off.

An open-play goal from Nathaniel Rosberg in the first half, and a second half penalty from Ines Forrestal secured the victory for The Anchors against The Blue Suns. It had been a close game to kick off the tournament, especially since Aphrilia had matchday one as their designated bye day, but they kicked things off with a well-fought victory.

Of course, while the win was certainly being talked about especially considering the fact that Aphrilia have once again shown their class on the field against the Visayas Islands, the main talking point was on one man only. Rosberg will be retiring after this IAC, and many don't know how to feel about it. The mood within the fanbase was a mix of either sadness at the fact that he would no longer be on the team, or happy at the fact that Rosberg has given it his all, and will continue to do so until the very end.

However, what about the team itself? For one, Leonardo Bianchi understood the decision. Although he hadn't been managing The Anchors for too long, he saw that Rosberg was the individual that anyone could rely on when needed. A team's beacon of hope, the kind father with a clean soul, literally. And on the other end, he had provided incredible amounts of tactical advantages. Finding another player who could fill the niche that Rosberg did was certainly going to be hard. But Bianchi believed it wasn't impossible.

Looking deeper into it, he didn't need a player who scores best from outside the box.

All he needed was a player who stayed outside, someone who's able to pass through narrow gaps and find openings whenever possible. The only issue was that his network of scouts was... Let's just say it wasn't at what it should be yet. But if replacements are what this team needs, then there's a source that Bianchi knows he can tap into. Joseph Alan, the assistant manager, has been very helpful. He's been more of a "working in the shadows" type of person, but what he told Bianchi would surely pay off.

Opening up his phone, he immediately wrote down a message. There were two individuals who would certainly be of massive help. He's heard of the other players talk about one of them, but the other? A more recent discovery to say the least. Once he was done, he forwarded the message to two players: Theo Cooper and Amelia Haze. The message?

"Meet me here in five, please. I need some discussions regarding Rosberg's tactical value."
"...I'll never trust the same, I'll see friendship as just another game...! Full of winners and losers, selfish abusers... You failed to fly but somehow I’m to blame...!?"

Anasb, Saterun—Reçuecians looking ahead to the twenty-fourth IAC had marked matchday two on their calendars as the most highly anticipated game. Reçueçn's matchday two opponent would be HUElavia, an intimidating opponent, ranked 18th in the multiverse and 6th among IAC competitors. Despite HUElavia, Group H's pot-1 side, possessing a much more impressive history and current ranking than Reçueçn can lay claim to, Les Licornes' supporters have come to view the team as a rival, thanks to repeated clashes between the two nations in both the IAC and in World Cup qualifying.

HUElavia and Reçueçn have both gotten in each other's way in the past—back before World Cup 88, HUElavia defeated Reçueçn in a playoff to stop Les Licornes from making it to the tournament proper. In the 20th IAC, which HUElavia hosted, it was Reçueçn that eliminated them in their first knock-out match, ending Los Amarillos tournament in front of their own fans. HUElavia took its revenge with wins against Reçueçn in the next two editions of the tournament, preventing the ÉNRF from making it out of the group stage. And now, after going a whole cycle without an encounter, the two teams were going to clash again, in yet another IAC group stage game.

With so much history to the rivalry, hopes from the fans were high—no matter the outcome, the game was certain to be high-stakes. But the Reçuecian fans never could have foreseen juust how much their prayers would be answered. Only 34 seconds into the game, Eric Konig knocked a rebound from a Franky Adams shot into the goal, giving the ÉNRF the earliest lead of its entire history. The Reçuecian fans who had made the trip to Saterun for the tournament were thrilled. Most were still on their feet, not even having had time to sit down after the excitement of kick-off, but they leaped into the air in celebration. Konig also celebrated flamboyantly, wheeling away from the goal and running to his teammates with his hands in the air, index fingers pointed skyward in a "#1" symbol. He tackled Franky in a bear hug before being dog-piled by the rest of the team.

The early goal was especially good for Reçueçn since it allowed the team to set its own pace for the rest of the game and return to its favored style—an all-out defensive low block. ÉNRF manager Hyron LeBouffe was visibly pleased as he gestured instructions to the team as the reset for kick-off, calling for Les Licornes to immediately park the bus. Park it they did, doing their best to instantly make the game as frustrating for the HUElavians as possible.

As the match continued, the Reçuecian fans were happy, content with their lead, and delighted to see their team playing according to its preferred strategy. But for Os Amarelos it was a frustrating affair, and even the neutral spectators joined them in whistling and booing the Reçuecians as Les Licornes did their best to make the rest of the game as boring as possible.

Not to say that HUElavia was entirely without chances the rest of the match. The team put together several solid attacks, including a beautiful shot from Cristiano Milano. Firaut, who had already been called upon to make some important saves, was never going to be able to get to Milano's powerful attempt in time, but it took an unfortunate bounce off the post and Cutrona was able to clear it for a corner kick.

After 90+4 minutes, the game was over, giving Reçueçn a victory amid the derisive whistles of the fans, peeved by Les Licornes cautious and uninteresting game. This means Reçueçn has two wins and an early lead in Group H. HUElavia, meanwhile, who began the tournament with a bye, still have zero points and will have to play catch-up. Riandera and the Osnari Federation are currently tied for second with one win each.

Even if the game that the Reçuecian fans were most anticipating is now in the past, there is a lot left to look forward to in this IAC. Reçueçn has a bye before its MD4 matchup against Grand Exultia, but there will be entertaining games in other groups featuring the indies' best and brightest. Stay tuned!

THE DIARY OF ONE VIOLA WHEELER
Thursday - 2nd June 319
Mieteng, Saterun

Always an odd feeling when you have a bye in the group stage, a disjointed sense as there is always someone with a game in hand. At least we us having the bye up front there isn't a break in the flow, we'll play all our matches in a row and at least on the final day everything will be in our hands. However we'd better do something to sure up those hands, we've had an international break since our disappointment follow up to third place in World Cup 99 crashing out in the Round of 32, unfortunately opening with a loss against The Elder Lands isn't going to help.

On the positive side of things are efforts to increase our attacking prowess after our quietest campaign in sometime did pay off with a brace scored by Bridget, but our focus on the attack lead to our defence being exposed and although I was happy with the improvment of actually scoring again, we did also miss crucial chances that could have led us to at least a point, or even victory (I do remember fondly our 6-4 victory over The Holy Empire). More to work to do on the training ground.

My mind is still made up though, no matter how we do in the IAC I still plan on stepping down from the captaincy, wierdly deciding this has given me a sense of peace and calm I wasn't expecting, even though I've not told anyone and I'm keeping this secret I feel like a weight has been lifted already. It's ironically helped me lead the team without simply having to put a brave face on an sob or scream in the pillow at night, waking up in a cold sweat.

Our next match sees up come up against Taxhavn, a team rising through the ranks not just internationally but domestically, the SteuerLig bursting onto the IFCF scene and now ranked third in the world. They'll be a team keen to the chop down dying wood in front of them, so we've got to show them this oak tree is strong and thriving. With them favouring attacking play as well we should hopefully see ourselves a change for a high scoring match and something to keep building our strikers confidence.

Around him, Vidar Washington could see a familiar look across the faces of his Saterun teammates. It was the exact same look after they had lost 4-0 against the Visayas Islands in the previous IAC. A mix of regret, anger, and, most prominently, failure. Of course, these were two different scenarios. Losing to the Visayas Islands had all but confirmed Saterun's elimination from the last IAC, while they were still very much in it for this one. This had also been a narrow 2-3 loss against a team that was technically better than them, so not even technically a surprise. What hurt the most, however, was opening their IAC campaign to a loss at home. The Sultan Stadium was supposed to be their bastion, their stronghold. Now, given the state of the group, they basically needed to be perfect for the next three matches in order to qualify. As he took all these thoughts in, Vidar reflected on how the game had gone.

The opening had been rather cagey. The Saterun fans were roaring their team on, for sure, but Handrix Casfo knew that there was still a bit of a memory from the last time the Claws had walked onto the pitch in an IAC, and he didn't want to push the team too far. However, taking the initiative may have been the right way to go. In the 16th minute, Valentine Z broke down the pitch in a counter-attack, and the Claws were not prepared to handle it. This team was extremely attacking-minded, with an incredible 6 forwards. They managed to quickly overwhelm the back line, and in the chaos, Holly van de Hoogte completely lost her marker and latched on to a slide-rule pass. She was free in front of the goal, and although Ralf Abiatti tried to close it down, the striker managed to curl her shot around him and put the guests in the lead. Handrix knew that this would be a match unlike anything he had ever had to deal with.

After that, Saterun was forced to play catch-up for the rest of the game. They managed to find an equalizer through Caesar Ibañez after about 10 minutes, though a beautifully worked move down the sidelines, but just before the half the Kittens scored again. Handrix always hated conceding just before or after the halftime break, as that always seemed to do the most psychological damage. Knowing that he had to shut down this attack, he shifted formations, likely for one of the first times in Saterun national team history. They were very fond of their 4-4-2, after all. He took Bates off and brought on Darius Hammel, a more defensively-minded midfielder, and pushed Hans-Jürgen Becker and Crespo Antonsen close to the Saterun goal. The outside midfielders had, in essence, become wingbacks.

This formation shift did lead to a quieter opening 20 minutes of the second half. In the 79th minute, Handrix thought they had got it. Becker had smashed a free kick into the crossbar, but luckily Ibañez had been there to clean up the scraps. It had been a bit of a messy goal, but they all count the same. However, the Kittens still had one more surprise up their sleeves. They pulled out their own set-piece trickery, as Katarzyna Polanska slid a well-disguised pass into the penalty area off of a free kick. Elisabetta D'Elia managed to find a bit of space, and powered her shot past the diving Abiatti. In the dying moments of the match, Saterun had conceded, and were unable to find their way back into it. Their opening match of their home IAC had ended in defeat.

Vidar saw Handrix walking around, trying to comfort the players. Some of the newer ones didn't quite understand why the team was so distraught, as they hadn't been there in the last tournament. But for all the returning players, it stung similar. Vidar knew, however, that there was now nothing they could do to change this result. The only thing they could do was focus on leaving it all out on the pitch against Britonisea, so that they didn't have to feel this way again. And next match was absolutely paramount. If they lost against Britonisea, their tournament was all but over. They knew they needed to avenge the performance in the last IAC, and it started with getting a good result in the next match.

After a tough loss to Calgasia just hours before, the team took solace in the fact that they could enjoy the night in their hotel. The Solgavs made sure to turn in early, due to their flight to Tsear leaving in the morning. And so, with all of the players and staff sleeping soundly, no one could imagine that death would strike late in the night.

"AAAAAGH!!!"

The bone chilling screech awoke most of the Solgavish players on the floor, and soon a panic began as they tried to figure out what happened. I was the first to check the room shared by Edvin Perssan-Truls and Eike Gerig, and the scene that welcomed me shocked me to my core. Edvin, the young third string goalkeeper, was sitting on his clutching a small device. The normally cheerful player was so pale he resembled a ghost, and he kept repeating the same phrase over and over...

"She's gone, sh-she's gone."

When I asked who was gone, he gestured towards the device. Apparently it was a digital pet his boyfriend gave him as an anniversary present, a small yellow rabbit he named Kiko. Or she was, as the screen showed the bunny upside down with Xs over her eyes, a telltale sign of death.
He said that he regularly fed and played with her, and that she was in perfect health, so her death had to be unnatural.

Soon the rest of the team began to file into the room, and reactions to Kiko’s death were varied. A few, like Rohit Mishra, didn't understand why fully grown men were mourning the loss of a cartoon rabbit. But most were distraught, Edvin regularly showed Kiko to the team with a smile on his face, and the bunny became an almost unofficial mascot for De Rega Röda. A dreary eyed Peter Strömberg soon joined the fray, only to roll his eyes and go back to his room, obviously not understanding the gravity of the situation.

With the team having to handle this tragedy by themselves, captain Sig Halvorsan took it into his own hands to solve the dilemma. By his own hands, I mean assign someone to get to the bottom of this, and he chose me. Who am I? I'm team vice-captain and assist leader Soren Danielsan, and Halvorsan’s right hand man. Halvorsan also said that I'm a natural choice since my father was a police officer. Before I could explain that policing skills weren't genetic, he left the room, leaving me to start my investigation.

Most of the players were sleeping in their rooms or were in the lobby, and had their alibis verified by their roommates. But there were a few who weren't:

  • Sven Naess “I wouldn't hurt a fly!”
He said he was taking a walk outside, but his roommate said he didn't remember seeing the midfielder leave. He also seems suspiciously uneasy at the whole situation.
  • Carsten Zuber “I loved that bunny more than anything!”
Carsten said he was having a late night snack, but he gave an unclear answer about what he had. He also previously lied about eating a teammate's sandwich, so his word isn't worth much these days.
  • Rohit Mishra “This is fucking stupid”
Mishra was never a fan of Kiko, and had plenty of motive to power her off for good. He also claimed to be in the hotel’s lobby, but those present there said they never saw him. I need to keep a close eye on him most of all.

We headed back to our rooms to catch some more sleep before the morning’s flight. I tossed and turned the entire night, my mind occupied by the heinous crime that was committed to one of our own, and the poor grieving Edvin. To have to investigate the men I consider my brothers didn't make the process any easier, but I have to put those thoughts behind me. The game with Of the Golden Harp was close by also, and we had to be at our best.

Grand Exultia 1–2 HUElavia
(REDACTED 54' | Serra 29', Milano 87')
Continental Field, Anasb, Saterun

THIS TEAM WON'T GIVE UP!

HUElavia snatch their first win and goals in a dramatic finish against Grand Exultia to lift off in the IAC.

Matchday 3 had arrived and HUElavia was already on the ropes, cornered jaguars if you will. The shock opening goal and loss to Reçueçn left the team suffer a horrid match against them and now were facing a serious issue moving forward: Another loss meant a likely early exit from the IAC. Thus, HUElavia came out in full force once again, with Manco starting at fullback, while Sol got the nod over Kim for the start in order to give some fresh legs and support for the team. In a sold out crowd at Continental Field in the Capital City of Anasb, thousands of HUElavians flooded the stadium, looking to motivate the team for a much needed victory.

HUElavia was on the attack from the get-go, not allowing Grand Exultia to get a chance at a good attack from their end. WIth the likes of Arruda, Milano and Serra getting shots where the Grand Exultian backline was making blocks and tackles to stop the shots, as well as REDACTED making blocks and saves to prevent HUElavia from opening the scoreline. There were some shots taken by REDACTED and REDACTED towards the HUElavian goal, but the backline would make blocks to make the work for Ancel much easier. Eventually in the 29th minute, a foul by REDACTED over Milano gave way for a free kick, where Sol sent a cross into the box, and Serra jumped over REDACTED to head the ball past a flat footed REDACTED into the goal, making it 0-1. The HUElavian crowd erupted with joy and passion, clapping and hugging each other, while Serra did The Cross and danced with her teammates at the corner flag for the goal. Grand Exultia would try to make chances happen, but the HUElavian defense would stand strong and hold out to maintain a 0-1 lead into halftime.

The second half saw Grand Exultia pressure more and more, but HUElavia still maintained some control and tempo of the match. Despite that, in the 54th minute, a shot from REDACTED took a deflection off Llopis (in for Brandt) and went out for a corner kick. From there, REDACTED sent a cross into the box, where REDACTED towered over Lobo to head the ball past the fingertips of Ancel into the goal, making it 1-1. REDACTED was mobbed by their teammates in the celebration while the Grand Exultians in the crowd were celebrating with joy and passion. Coach Casillas would make modifications with Agüero going in for Arruda, as well as Cusipuma in for Wahle. From there, HUElavia began to pressure more and more, getting Grand Exultia more and more towards their box in defense. Eventually in the 87th minute, Lobo was on the ball, sending a pass to Cusipuma, who got covered by REDACTED, before spotting a sprinting Milano to lob the ball over the backline and Milano gave a one-time chip over REDACTED to have the ball hit the post and go into the goal, making it 1-2. The HUElavian crowd erupted in delirium while Milano was mobbed by his teammates and the bench as he yelled in joy and celebration while doing The Cross. From there, HUElavia would do their best to maintain possession, while Grand Exultia began to foul and get yellow cards for their desperate fouls. After 5 minutes of additional time, the referee blew her whistle to end the match, and HUElavia had relief they got that much needed victory.

With the victory, HUElavia move up to 3rd Place with 3 Points (1-0-1, 0 GD), while Reçueçn still sits in 1st with 6 Points (2-0-0, +3 GD), followed by Riandera in 2nd with 6 Points (2-0-0, +2 GD), Osnari Federation in 4th with 3 Points (1-0-2, -3 GD), and Grand Exultia, now eliminated with 0 Points (0-0-3), in 5th Place. Matchday 4 will see HUElavia take on Riandera in what is another must-win matchup for Los Amarillos/Os Amarelos. In the post match conference, Coach Casillas was quoted saying "It was a tough match, but the team played well and persistent during the full 90 minutes. It's a shame we conceded that goal, but they went on and on until they got the goal. I'm happy in particular of Milano and Serra, who both scored the goals, as well as Sol having a great performance in the midfield. We got another long 90 minutes against Riandera, but we have to persist with that match. We got plenty of training and film study to do, but we hope to bring out another good match and to claw our way to a direct spot to the knockouts. We still hope to count on our fans to cheer us on and make it another intimidating atmosphere against Riandera." A win will go a long way, but if there's anything this IAC edition has shown, the big teams are not safe from upsets and anything can happen. On to the next one and let's go for the victory!

From Methane to Strawberry Milkshake

Image

What started as a way to reduce methane emissions from cows has ended up being one of the most advanced and controversial biotechnology enterprises in the multiverse. The company Wunderkuh GmbH, officially launched this week in Melperk, is rewriting the rules of dairy production through its production of genetically modified cows.

The company offers two different products, BlauMilch coming from “blue cows” and now strawberry flavored milk directly from the cows, whose color is now pink.

Yes, you read well: pink cows. After shocking the world with their blue cows producing sky-colored milk, the research team at WunderKuh has announced their next bold step: cows with pastel pink coats that produce naturally strawberry-flavored milk. By integrating anthocyanin and aroma compound genes from strawberries into bovine DNA using CRISPR-Cas9, they created pink-coated cows whose milk tastes and smells like fresh strawberries – naturally.

It is rumoured that dairy companies Weinberger Molkerei and Lactum are interested on applying this new products.

The Smell of Money
As stated in the start of the report, a joint venture, WunderKuh, has been created to research, develop and produce genetically engineered livestock, their mission stating “Enhance nature to deliver the best products in a responsible way”.

Morgenstern was able to access the list of partners in this company
- Aethra Biotech from Calgasia (itself a branch of Aethra Chemicals), will provide R&D as well as production of cattle
- Charles University of Melperk, will assist in the research
- IPH from Osarius, a tech giant famous for its recent development of the “dog-cows”
- An undisclosed company from Amenria

Their business model was released in a press conference: Wunderkuh licenses its genetic technology to dairy producers, providing enhanced cattle and veterinary and biotech support. In return, dairies pay royalties and must brand their products as Wunderkuh Milk, ensuring transparency and recognition. Additionally, the company operates flagship farms where the cattle is breed under strict quality controls and where innovations can take place.

Ministerial Concerns
However, this project might stop even before the milk reaches the shelves of supermarkets and commercial complexes of the multiverse, as the Ministries of Health and Agriculture issued a joint statement. “The Ministries will launch an exhaustive investigation into the project to ensure that the product and the cattle comply with health, safety, environmental and ethical regulations and standards. The safety of the public and the future of our farmers and dairy industry will not be compromised in any way
No further comment has been issued, and government officials declined to provide more information to Morgenstern.

This warning will apply to my future roleplays for the IAC as well. I am planning to write a story revolving around an aviation accident. Two aircraft will collide after a fatal error by Air Traffic Control, taking the life of former Edsmon player and icon Stentdon Beirbern and his family.

Aerkalventiciti International Airport, Aerkalventiciti, Deiusig, Edsmontik

4:00PM, Thursday, July 8th, 2032

"We've finally made it!"

Stentdon Beirbern set his car into park and began unloading. Everyone pulled out their suitcases, walking towards the main airport doors with smiles on their faces. But then, Stentdon's wife had a sudden realization.

"Wait!" Kaera said, stopping in her tracks. "What about our car? We can't just leave it here for a month!"

Stentdon let out a huge sigh as he pulled out his phone to call his friend. He slammed the number into his phone and waited as it rang.

"Hey, Torvik. Mind coming to the airport to pick up my car?" he began once his pal answered.

"What? Why? Did you blow the engine?" Torvik responded.

"No, it's just that I brought my car to the airport and I'm leaving from Aerkalventiciti in two hours. No one can take it back to my place."

"You don't need me," Torvik said. "There's an airport parking for departing passengers somewhere."

"Oh, well, thanks!" Stentdon replied with a weak laugh. "But... where is it exactly?"

"No idea. Good luck though!" Torvik said.

"Hello?"

The static of the call's end left Stentdon a little betrayed.

Stentdon motioned for his family to follow, and everyone tiredly threw their suitcases back into the car. Once inside, he drove around the main entrance, looking for the departing passenger parking that was mentioned. Eventually, he found it, and pulled in.

After some quick paperwork, Stentdon and his family left the lot and entered the airport. Only one thing was on their minds now.

"Get to the damn plane."

It was a long process of examination by the Edsmon National Transit Safety and Multiversal Transit Safety Association. Luckily, the Beirberns made it through for an hour and a half left to sit at the gate. Vienna was sleeping. Kaera was out cold. Even Ilsen, who was so focused on his game before, was dead silent. Stentdon was the only one awake.

"How do I get the least amount of sleep," Stenton thought, "And not be able to lie back and rest here?"

Not too long after, he could see the plane unloading. Then, passengers came off. Once the speakers were blurting out muffled words again, Stentdon knew it was time to get on his flight.

"Far Eastern 632 is now boarding."

He woke up his now smiling family, and they began the boarding process.
Matchday 3: Edsmontik v. Abanhfleft - @ Crescent Arena, Ias, Saterun

"Is Beirbern's plane delayed or something?" Maartin whispered to himself. "Keep your head in the game Maartin Stuero, you can find Beirbern once this game is over."

It was tied, 1-1. Edsmontik had the first goal through Darion Verto's amazing shot, but due to Abanhfleft's lucky goal right after halftime, it didn't look too good for the Eagles. They might be leaving this one in a draw.

Rehcikt flew down the wing, rolling the ball past the Fleftic defenders. He had to find the net soon to give Edsmontik that top spot that they needed. He dribbled, faking turns and spinning around to confuse his opponents.

Out in the center was Sravagn Utravak, who hoped to stay in the game for longer. But he hadn't made any contributions yet, and it looked like der-Ghavyr would take him out shortly. The striker called out to Rehcikt, hoping to catch his attention.

One nod from Maven, and Sravagn began to charge forward. He made sure to be onside to receive the ball, but still motioned for Rehcikt to be careful.

Within milliseconds, the ball was in the air.

Time slowed as Utravak ran, scraping by the defenders trying to block his path. He saw the ball, so close- yet it felt miles in front of him. In the second that the ball was directly ahead, Utravak gathered the strength to dive headfirst...

"2-1 Edsmontik!" the commentators shouted, cheering on the striker as he did his iconic finger guns at the crowd.

Utravak looked at der-Ghavyr on the sidelines, who gave an approving nod and a few claps. That was a sign that he wasn't getting subbed off yet. Sravagn celebrated in victory doing fancy handshakes with his team before being sent back to the Eagle's half to restart the game.

On the right side of midfield, Maktholm Ghreksbvy imagined what the IAC could bring to Edsmontik. One of the rewards would be the usual: glory.

He rubbed his hands together, knowing that the Eagles could end up getting super far. They could even win it, now that he thought more. If this game went their way, Edsmontik would probably be top of the group with six points. What if the Eagles just went completely undefeated? It was possible.

But no matter what, he had to focus on now. Thinking about rewards could lead to countless errors.

Knocking himself back into the game, Ghreksbvy continued making his passes and taking shots until the final whistle.

"We have an unconfirmed death toll in an aircraft collision at Aerkalventiciti International Airport in Edsmontik, the ENTS and MTSA are looking into this accident. It's the largest aviation accident in Edsmon history since the 1990 Attempted Attacks in Touve."

Stuero looked up from his fan mail and towards the TV in his hotel room.

"I don't think I've seen an accident that severe before. Jeez, what went wrong there?"

Getting Grouped: A National Pastime

Schedule

MD1: vs. Solgavden L 0-1 (4th)
MD2: @ Crpostran W 1-0 (2nd)
MD3: BYE
MD4: @ Calgasia
MD5: @ The Golden Harp

Who would've guessed, immediately after losing the first game and seemingly giving up all hope, the Dhemixians "somehow" came back with the momentum on their side. It's almost cyclical in how it happens. The loss to Solgavden, although the difference in pot, was to be expected from a Dhemixian side that are addicted to momentum and have devastating withdrawals without it. What wasn't expected? Beating Crpostran away, the WC-runners up in WC98, just so happening to be the Serpents' initial cycle of international competition. Having a bye after that is nice from a recovery standpoint, but detrimental from a momentum standpoint, something the Serpents practically require to live.

Against Crpostran, you could probably imagine Doug McMahon's pregame speech in the locker room as the Dhemixians prepared to take on a Pot 1 team. As usual, he harped on the importance of just getting your foot in the door and winning individual battles. However, when the Dhemixians took the field and McMahon realized the gravity of the situation, especially the strength of his opponents, he had a very abrupt change of heart. What our pal Doug failed to realize was that WC98 was NOT the most recent cycle. Somehow, when it comes to Dhemixian coaches, none of them end up being competent, and McMahon is no different. This "epiphany" on the sideline led him to play the most defensive football possible for the Serpents, something they're not the best at and attempted to fix by just throwing more people at the problem. McMahon's logic was surprisingly sound: A team of such quality as Crpostran's will be on the offensive the whole game, and we just have to soak up the pressure to create chances on the counter. Unfortunately, this is why Dhemixian supporters can't have nice things: His rationale for playing such a scheme could not have been more incorrect in practice. The Serpents were essentially running a 6-man back line with 2 players being allowed to play offense, absolute Ko-oren managerless football, sandbags and machine guns around the goal, preparing for a bombardment of shots and chances, when Cropstran just didn't do any of that. It turns out, they too were rusty coming off of a bye on MD1, and also played a defensive oriented strategy based on the counterattack. It took an entire 75 minutes of the sloppiest 0-0 football to grace this multiverse before it came to Doug McMahon that he maybe should switch to an offensive formation to take advantage of an all-defensive duel. Just three minutes after the switch back to their regular formation, Marvin Bolton would find the equalizer on a breakaway into the top corner... ...assisted by a Wesley Williamson punt. McMahon would the parade around the sideline acting like a genius for the rest of the game, including the entire time while they were still playing. You really can't make this stuff up can you?

Either way, the Dhemixian defense (or lack thereof) somehow sealed a 1-0 win against a top 30 WC side. This theoretically gave them all of the momentum in the world to go win their last two games and qualify easily, but in reality, the bye MD hit like a semi-truck and destroyed Dhemixian morale as qualification slipped further and further away. You may be wondering, how exactly are the Serpents in a bad position? Their bye is already over. Well, I'm glad you asked. Apparently, losing to a bottom-pot team might not have been a good financial decision, as the Dhemixians are on the outside looking in, to that very Solgavden team they lost to and don't have a tiebreaker over, and to a Calgasia team who are both the Serpents' reapers and their next opponent. Oh yeah, did I mention the Dhemixians have to play Calgasia for the third time yet? Somehow, some way, these sides are just attracted to one another for no apparent reason in group draws. For neutral viewers, this is great: every Dhemixia-Calgasia matchup so far has been absolute cinema, while either being a shootout or going down to the wire. For the Serpents, this is just about the worst thing possible, as to even have a sliver of a chance to qualify, they'll have to beat the team they've conceded 9 goals to in the span of two matches and have never beaten. It's pretty safe to say, this will be a great ending to the group stage, most likely going down to the last MD (in which Calgasia has a bye). Who knows, though? It would only be fitting if Doug McMahon fumbled it here and the last game didn't even matter, sentenced to being grouped for the first time since IAC 22 and going back into mediocrity as an association. We'll just have to see how this one turns out.
It's empty.

What did it mean to become a successor?

By definition, it would be someone or something that succeeds another, to take the mantle and reign of who or what that previously held a certain position. For the longest time in the history of the Aphrilian National Football Team, the man they were able to confidently call captain was Nathaniel Rosberg. But then he gave up captaincy, willing at that. He was a father and nearing the end of his time, thus a successor had to be chosen. In the end, it was Jessica Rhine-Faust who succeeded him as the team captain.

She had been given some experience at being a captain by hand, having been delegated to the role of captain for the Junior Anchors some time. The nekori clearly remembers that she was promoted to the senior national team with her ability as a captain being a key factor. But how did she truly feel about it? How did she think about what everyone else thinks of her as captain? Nathaniel had the respect of everyone on the team, but she was captaining plenty of people who were clearly older than she was.

Hell, she remembers the feeling that she once had.

Do just fine in the Di Bradini Cup, and after that, perhaps normalcy. Be an average player, maybe perhaps even fade into obscurity if she really had to so that the fame wouldn't get to her still secluded mental state. But now, she was the captain of a top football team consisting of the best players of the nation she calls home. Jessica still has no clue how she got here.

Her family says she changed, her teammates say she has grown, others say she matured. Maybe they're all right, maybe Jessica did become better as she started growing older. She was twenty two now, no longer the terrified, just turned eighteen girl that she once was. As a young adult, she now knows more things. Things that she needs to know regarding the aspects of her life. As a daughter, as a friend, as a teammate, and also as a captain. Once Nathaniel was gone from the team, she would have to lead everyone on the field.

She knew that she wouldn't be alone, however. There was Alexander Burns, her best friend. Theresa Villa and Calico Knacke were on the U21 team alongside Jessica. A few players older by a few years quite believe in her, such as Erica Gillingham and Kevin Lacey. And team manager Leonardo Bianchi was a man she knew she could trust, especially since Nathaniel warmed up to the Crpostranian quite quickly. There were people that trusted in her and her capabilities.

And with that, Jessica was determined to pay back that trust.
