Welcome to the twelveth edition of Anaia’s regional association football championship. The CAFA Cup is Anaia’s Regional Championship for Association Football. It is open only to nations in the Anaia Region*, provided that they remain a member of the region for the duration of this competition, and that they also do not sign up for any other regional association football cup or equivalent this cycle.
With thanks to Mertagne for providing the tagline for this edition.

To sign up for the CAFA Cup, please post in this thread with your roster information.
Sign-ups without a roster will not be accepted, and posting placeholders (i.e. “reserved for roster information”) will be looked at poorly.
If you are posting a roster, it is also recommended to include an RP permissions box. An example of this can be found in the spoiler below:
Code: Select all

Puppet Entries:
If a user signs up with a nation that entered the previous CAFA, they may enter up to two nations, provided they were both in the Anaia region at the time that this post was created and remain for the duration of the tournament. In their signup/roster post, users must indicate their second nation -- typically called a puppet -- as such. Undeclared puppets who do not comply with this rule may have all nations associated with their user removed from the tournament.

Host Bids:
Host bids are encouraged to be posted in this thread. In order to host the tournament, you must be signed up to participate. Prospective hosts should indicate their plans for format, scorinator, RP Bonus, tiebreakers, and any other elements as needed. Approved hosts will take over all operation of the tournament from the CAFA account for the edition they are voted to host, including determining signup deadlines and overall schedule.
The deadline for host bids shall be 72 hours after the first host bid posted by someone who has also submitted a roster, or two weeks from the time of this post, whichever is later.
The entry deadline shall be set by the host, but shall be no sooner than July 23, 2025 at 23:59 UTC.

Current CAFA Rankings:
The current CAFA rankings are available here. Thanks to Audioslavia for providing the spreadsheet. These will be updated once the post-World Cup Final KPB+ rankings are available.

Please do not post in this thread if you are not a member of the Anaia region or a moderator performing their duties. Otherwise, your post will be considered spam, and may bring moderator action.

AI Disclaimer: The team logo (The dove superimposed on a soccer ball), which appears in the banner below and on the team kits, was AI generated.
OOC: I treat the CAFA Cup as occurring in the year between biennial World Cup cycles, so every player on my team has aged up by one year since the Qualifiers/World Cup/Cup of Harmony.

Image

Formation: 4-2-4
Style Modifier: +4 (If the maximum style modifier is +3, then put us at +2.5.)

Overview: The Warkus National Football Team recently competed in the last Cup of Harmony and World Cup Qualifiers after a lengthy abscence from international football. They narrowly missed out on the Cup of Harmony knockout stages by finishing 9th in the league stage. They also finished 7th in their World Cup Qualifiers group with some impressive showings against sides that no one expected them to beat. The plan for the team's first CAFA Cup? Uh, play some football, I guess. Blethyn's insists that his long term plans aren't going to come to fruition just yet. It's yet another tournament without expectations.

The team plays a fluid attacking game which relies on speed and players frequently switching positions. In attack, the full-backs push high and wide to give the wingers space to drift inside while the centre-backs sit a little wider. One of the forwards, typically Colin Emrys, drops deep to play a 'false 9' role (this has, of course, led to debates over whether Warkus really plays a 4-2-3-1 formation instead of a 4-2-4). Both midfielders are expected to be able to play both as a Volante and as a more creative central midfielder. This allows them to swap positions to confuse their opponents, just as the forward wingers and strikers often do. But this tactic runs the risk of the players confusing themselves more than they confuse their opponents.

Manager: Jack Blethyn, 29 y/o

Supporters and critics alike have taken to calling Jack Blethyn 'The Kid'. He's earned enough grace to keep his job even if the team crashes out disastrously. The traditionalist types aren't keen on his overly academic, businessman-style approach to coaching, especially since he was never a professional footballer. But even they can't complain when the Doves are playing exciting, if occasionally messy, attacking football and defying expectations. He's retained the same squad, only swapping a single starter with an existing rotation option. It'll take years before we know whether his approach bears any fruit or whether he's just lucky to be managing a relatively unknown quantity.

Roster:
(Starters underlined)

Goalkeepers
1. Daniel Benjamin, 19 y/o
99. Rhiannon Cox, 33 y/o
32. James Orwell, 29 y/o

Defenders
2. Iawn Owen, 28 y/o
4. Isetyn Piwter, 25 y/o
3. Aneurin Evans, 30 y/o
5. James Roberts, 31 y/o
40. Greg Stevens, 33 y/o
55. Ahmed al-Saqqaf, 25 y/o
50. Victor Murphy, 27 y/o
97. Mary Davies, 25 y/o
12. Dafydd Edwards, 32 y/o

Midfielders
6. Rhodri Fallows, 29 y/o
7. Michael Williams, 28 y/o
98. Sara Maxwell, 26 y/o
77. Seven Price, 24 y/o
18. Pádraig Murphy, 20 y/o

Forwards
9. Siôr Castell, 20 y/o
22. Colin Emrys, 20 y/o
11. Llewelyn Rose, 26 y/o
8. Max Tarbutt, 26 y/o
10. Robert Machen, 33 y/o
14. Arwel Wynn, 30 y/o
28. Pigeon Abbott, 31 y/o
42. Mark Morgan, 29 y/o
24. Alistair Griffiths, 19 y/o

Players to look out for:

Llewelyn Rose serves as a the team's captain and star striker. Good at scoring goals, good at telling his teammates what to do and good looking to boot. He's hitting his prime and becoming a more complete player every day. But it won't be long before younger players like Colin Emrys and Alistair Griffiths come into their own and become a threat to his status as the team's poster boy. Expect him to score goals, expect to hear him yelling instructions to his teammates and expect him to sell cheap cologne with his name on it.

Rhodri Fallows is the team's vice-captain and serves as part of a flexible midfield pairing with Michael Williams. He's key to both the team's defence and attack, although he doesn't look it to the casual observer. If he's shut down or bested by a better midfielder, then the rest of the team will suffer dearly. Casual fans think he's rubbish and the geeks will tell you he's the team's unsung hero.

Colin Emrys has been pushed into a starting role after a strong 'super sub' performance at the last Cup of Harmony. He's displacing the older forward Robert Machen, who has struggled to keep up because his pace has declined with age. It's a bit of an early move, though. Emrys is, technically speaking, still a weaker player than Machen. But he's only going to get better with time. We hope.

Isetyn Piwter is a proper no-nonsense centre-back. He can be caught out of position on the counter-attack, since he's still struggling to figure out how wide to sit when the Doves are attacking and how narrow he should be when they're defending. But when he is in position, and when he's not facing a pacy forward, he's a force to be reckoned with. The King of the not-so-tactical foul, Piwter is the most likely player in the Warkus squad to get carded.

The history of the Pyazhnayan national team has been marked by a few ups, a couple of downs and a lot of flatness. The fact they managed to reach the final of two consecutive CAFAs is a sign that the team has a lot of quality, but the fact that they lost both of them also signals that there was more work to be done. After qualifying for World Cup 99, the first time ever Pyazhnaya managed, hopes to bring this momentum to CAFA are high.

Aleksandra Agratova - 43
Aleksandra Agratova inheritated the job from Zavrashin after the WCQ98 campaign fell apart once more, promoptly qualifying for WC99. She will be continuing the flexible 4-4-2 formation and an offensive style to surprise the opposing teams.

Roster for the Legalese National Team for CAFA XII

Style Modifier: +5 (or the maximum possible, whichever is higher) . Viva Takil.
RP permissions
My permissions are your permissions, with two notes:
If you have Choose Goalscorers set to “N”, then ignore the above and consider all permissions set to “N”. (This does not apply to setting preferred goalscorers, mind you -- for that, consider yourself as having reasonable free reign regarding who scored for Legalese)
I reserve the right to interpret events -- particularly long-reaching effects on any Legalite involved -- differently.

Legalese is a quiet, medium-sized nation sitting near the geographic center of Anaia. Where many of the nations of the Bekkside are known for something, Legalese is best known for being there, a stable presence in an uncertain world, and existing in the table, usually in the mid-to-lower bits.

Manager: Holly McNulty
McNulty, in her late thirties, continues in charge for her second CAFA. The Plains County native saw success in turning around Plainsview Town from an also-ran to an attacking powerhouse domestically, but her results at the helm of the NT haven’t quite been up to that measure. Approaches most communications in a polite, but blunt manner.

Coach: Murray Moreland
Moreland, in his mid-to-late forties, joined McNulty after a stint as the Assistant Coach for Racing West Tyrellia. The Francis City born, Tyrellia-raised native is known for a stern, disciplined style on the training pitch; that approached served him well to get Racing up the pyramid, but there’s fears it’s not being heard by the NT pool.

No matter the manager, one thing remains true: Legalite football is a goal-focused, attack-first style. Under Holly McNulty, that takes the form of a 3-4-3. Some may prefer to call it a 3-2-2-3, looking at the way it plays on the pitch, but not McNulty. In this formation, the defense plays three across, each serving as central defenders, but will extend across the entire touchline as needed. The midfield consists of two wing backs, along with two central midfielders focused on possession and transition, with the typical complement of three forwards on hand to create chances early and often. The mentalities remain well-known to those who’ve seen the Legalites play: scrappy, hard-working, annoying to have to get by, but not overly difficult to score on once you’ve broken down the best way through. Look for a lot of pace, and for all of the available substitutions to be used.

What to expect from the Keepers
The McNulty system rests on a goaltender who can not only be the playcaller, but also be an active part of the field play. To do that, Plainsview Town’s keeper Johnny Ulyatt took over the starting role this cycle, and will likely remain that way through the CAFA. Ulyatt’s a smaller presence in the next for the typical Legalite, but tends to make up for it with more pace, a touch more athleticism, and (like his manager) a more reserved style. Whether perennial backup Emma Pett or newer arrival Rufus Varnum is more likely to see minutes is a toss up, but one would expect the total time in net for both to be low.

What to expect from the Defense
After shifts in the defense in qualifying, the lineup for the regional is likely to stay the course. Expect Katrina Oat, Adrian George, and Niamh Murray as the primary three. That said, if any position on the field doesn’t work the way it’s needed -- after all, the central three are also where the counterattack begins -- it’s this where the changes could be fast and furious.

What to expect from the Wing Backs
One could say that the Wing Backs are the unsung heroes of this formation. Their roles typically require them to be back on defense when the opposition has possession, forming more of a 5-2-3 than a 3-4-3; however for the attack to be at its’ best, the wings are typically the dynamic crossers, putting the ball in play for the trio of forwards. They don’t score often, and aren’t the first to get credit for a (likely rare) shutout, but their play is the most likely difference between a win and a loss. Faron Hill Adams, will be on the right, bringing much more experience than his twenty-five years of age would suggest. On the left, Jonathan Kingman established himself as the first pick in the previous cycle, and continues in that role with a new shirt number to reflect it. Derrick Yomkins remains the first substitute should either side need a rest. Meanwhile, Gagan Epsom continues to fill a role on the bench, in what will likely be the close of his international career.

What to expect from the central Midfielders
The central midfield is about control for this side; the right pairing of skills and tactics will determine if the home side are able to keep control of the match. Typically, both midfielders will drift anywhere between the penalty areas, with one true box-to-box midfielder playing alongside a possession-focused ball-winning mid. Thomas Toal and AC Sheehy remain the 1-2 combo of choice going in, but those close to the team have said they wouldn’t be surprised if it ends up being a triangle rotation of leading mids, with Joseph Damhan’s work rate suggesting he’s ready to step up. At any rate, at least one of the substitutions will almost certainly come from the midfield.

What to expect from the Forwards
Traditionally, the typical Legalite forward only tracks back into the defensive half when absolutely necessary. This remains true under McNulty’s system, but to a different extent. The main strategy of the three forwards (in order to reach their collective goal, which are, well, goals) is to pile on as many shots on-target as possible, the idea being that continuous chance creation will challenge the keeper to the point that they break down and open the floodgates. To this end, the trio will take on whatever role is needed, to the point that you could see three strikers, two strikers and a false nine, or even two deep-lying forwards if the situation calls for it.

As for the personnel, the picks are the same, but who makes the eleven is up in the air. Leo Hill-Tanner joined Hisana Hirst and Lily Tonawanda as the preferred trio, and the results in qualifying suggest they may not be enough. I’d expect to see the youth movement be the primary shift, with Kamama (Do doo, do do do) Dunphy, Zak (Attack) McFadden, and Wombles Waterman getting a chance to show Anaia what they can do.

Text description of the kits: The primary team kit consists of a black shirt and shorts, with red socks. The shirt contains a double sash of solid red over solid white, stretching diagonally from the left shoulder to the right hip. Over the shirt-wearer's heart (as well as on the right hemline of the shorts) is the Legalese crest. The player's number appears to the right chest area on the shirt, and on the left leg of the shorts, both in white.

The secondary team kit consists of a red shirt and black shorts, with red socks. The shorts description is identical to the primary kit description, save for the number on the shorts being gold in color. The secondary shirt contains a black sash running from the left shoulder to the right hip; the sash is not solid, appearing as if it was splashed onto the shirt. The shirt has white collars and cuffs, and contains the Legalese crest in the same position as the primary kit shirt; the number is in the same position as the primary, but colored gold.

The third kit, designed to honor the region (while firmly asserting a national identity). It consists of a multicolored shirt, along with black shorts and red socks. The shirt is mainly purple and green, with a progressing block-like pattern. Over the pattern is a red sash, containing the splash style seen on the secondary kit. The shirt includes black cuffs, and a black/red color.

The keeper kit is a longsleeve royal blue shirt with white cuffs and collars. The shirt has gold dots across it, shrinking in size moving up from the hem to the collar. a black-and-red sash runs diagonally from the right hip to the left shoulder; the sash consists of a series of thin lines, with the upper half of the lines being red, and the latter half black. The Crest and Numbers on the shirt and shorts are the same as seen on the secondary kit.

The crest contained on the primary, secondary, and keeper kits is a nonagon outlined in gold, with a black field, red sash, and white scales. The third kit contains a simplified crest of white scales only.
Host/Co-Host of many World Cup-associated things, mostly long ago. A couple of small wins as well, which is nice.

Saint-Jean-Jacques-sur-Mer

Saint-Jean-Jacques-sur-Mer is a city state of 78 square kilometers located in Anaia and founded in lhe 18th century by Jean-Jacques Le Boucanier (John James The Buccaneer), a pirate of unknown North or Central Calanian origin who decided to retire from piracy and found his own nation south of his country of origin. Saint-Jean-Jacques-sur-Mer has emerged in the 20th century as a merchant city state which favors capitalism. The current ruler of Saint-Jean-Jacques-sur-Mer is Prince Pierre-Alexandre 1er de Saint-Jean-Jacques-sur-Mer, a direct descendant of Jean-Jacques Le Boucanier. Elections are outlawed in Saint-Jean-Jacques-sur-Mer. The national animal is the tapir, which you can see wandering in our streets.

Burnham-on-Stove

Burnham-on-Stove is a city state of 54 square kilometers located in Anaia. It used to be a district whitin Saint-Jean-Jacques-sur-Mer and it's named after William Robert Burnham, a pirate and friend of Jean-Jacques Le Boucannier. In september 1923, several communist districts of Saint-Jean-Jacques-sur-Mer, mostly of English origin, declared their independence and formed the new nation of Burnham-on-Stove. The Burnhamese Communist Party is the only authorized party in Burnham-on-Stove. The national animal is also the Tapir.

Nova Calania

500: The first documented permanent Aztec settlements in Nova Calania dates from around 500 AD.

1748: Explorers of Polish origins came to the area just south of Krytenia and southwest of Ibixa and founded the town of Ostrow Krolewski on the shores of the Ocean of Ayes. They named the area Odlegla Ziemia (Distant Land).

1760-1820: Odlegla Ziemia expanded southwest and further inland on the east.

1793: Jean-Jacques Le Boucanier established his colony in what is known today as Vieux-Saint-Jean-Jacques (Old St. Jean-Jacques) or Vieille-Ville (Old Town) just northeast of Cardenao. This is the foundation of Saint-Jean-Jacques-sur-Mer. The city state expanded on both side of the Stove river.

1818: Explorers of Asian origin came to the area between Saint-Jean-Jacques-sur-Mer and Odlegla Ziemia and founded the city state of Shanzhou. This stopped Odleglian expansion southwest of their capital.

1851-54: The Aztecs, helped with some mercenaries from Saint-Jean-Jacques-sur-Mer and Burnham-on-Stove, attacked Odlegla Ziemia and took back 1/3 of Odlegla Ziemia's land that was previously stolen from the Aztecs.

1923: Districts of Saint-Jean-Jacques-sur-Mer located north of the Stove river (mostly English speaking) declared their independence and formed a new communist state under the name of Burnham-on-Stove.

2023: Saint-Jean-Jacques-sur-Mer and Burnham-on-Stove united to form a new sporting alliance. Both nations remained independents on all aspects, except they shared a joint national team in all sports.

2025: On may 15th 2025, leaders from Saint-Jean-Jacques-sur-Mer, Burnham-on-stove, Odlegla Ziemia, Shanzhou and the Nova Calanian Aztec Confederacy united together to form the United States of Nova Calania. Unlike Saint-Jean-Jacques et Burnham-on-Stove, it's not just a sporting alliance. It's a policical, economic, military and sporting alliance.

HISTORY

Chromatika first entered the World Cup in Cycle 73, going a modest 3-2-7. They made the Cup of Harmony in Cycle 74, and qualified for the first time in Cycle 75, losing in the Round of Sixteen. Chromatika would have their most successful campaign in World Cup 76, making it to the 3rd place Playoff before finishing in fourth place, despite the domestic upheaval in the country. Their first Manager, Franscesca Larriet-Cortes, was martyred at the end of World Cup 75; the political stresses of the job made it so that Lisa Amos, the team's Manager after Franscesca, resigned after World Cup 76.

The team would enjoy continued success from World Cup 77 through World Cup 81, as Silian Parker helped the squad qualify for the World Cup every time, and the team even made it to the Round of Sixteen or beyond three of those times. Even when Chromatika didn't enter World Cup 82, their return to the World Cup in 83 was a success, though both World Cup 83 and 84 saw the Anomalies stymied at the Proper Group Stage - 84 being under new management in Nepharan Konrad Evans.

World Cup 85 was a disaster - the team didn't qualify and didn't even make a deep run in the Cup of Harmony, leading to the sacking of Evans and the appointment of Richard Valens of Krytenia and Tim Landers of Delaclava. The team would qualify in World Cup 86, and 87, host the World Cup in 88, and return to the Proper in 89. However, Chromatika was not making the deep runs that the nation wanted/needed, so they said goodbye to Valens and Landers and looked inward.

Sandra Sybill and Rachel Hellion, key figures during Chromatika's runs in the early days, stepped in. A loss to Nyowani Kitara meant that they were eliminated, but the team turned around and won the 82nd Cup of Harmony. The following cycle, they made it to the Playoffs, where a loss in penalties to Zeta Reka and Hügeltaldom sealed the fate of Sybil and Hellion. Lisa Amos stepped in to lead the team to a respectable Quarterfinal finish in the resulting Cup of Harmony, and Chromatika was left wondering just how far they were away from the glory days.

Lev Repin came in, promising glory - and the Anomalies grabbed it off the cuff, winning their Group to qualify ahead of Ko-oren. Put into a group with Turori, Eura, and Cassadaigua, the Anomalies lost to Turori 3-0 before recovering to win narrowly over Eura and Cassadaigua. They'd fall 1-2 to perennial powerhouses Græntfjall, but they had finally broken back through.

Then, with the World Cup returning to Chromatika, the Anomalies went on the run of a lifetime, making their way to the World Cup Final, beating Zwangzug in the process. They eventually lost the final 3-4 to Banija, but had put themselves back as the #4 team in the world and capable of contending at the biggest stage.

World Cup 94 saw the Anomalies make the Round of Sixteen before losing to Banija once again; then, they cohosted World Cup 95 with Sylestone, only to go 0-2-1 in the Group Stage and not make the Round of Sixteen. World Cup 96 saw a dominant qualifying cycle - only losing once on the final matchday to Abanhfleft - culminate with another Group Stage exit at the hands of Juvencus.

Repin and the Chromatik Football Federation decided to part ways. They then brought in Khabibullina, who did well enough in the CAFA before leading Chromatika to the World Cup Proper in World Cup 97. They ended that foray with three defeats in the World Cup Proper - including a 0-7 drubbing of Farfadillis - which was a disaster.

In her first season at the helm, Alina Khabibullina righted the ship - returning the team to the World Cup Proper and then making the Round of Thirty-Two. It took till the third time, but Chromatika finally advanced to the Round of Sixteen in World Cup 99 before falling to Valanora.

MANAGEMENT STAFF

MG ImageAlina KHABIBULLINA | Age: 50 | Debut Cycle: 97
The new Manager of Chromatika. A relatively new find, Khabibullina is a motivator and a technician who likes to try to get the most out of her charges. The expectations being placed on her shoulders are enormous - the supposed Golden Generation of Chromatika is getting older - but with a communicator at the helm, perhaps this is exactly what they needed. Three World Cup Proper have seen the team reach the Round of Sixteen.

PHY ImageZoe "Z" Benne | Age 50 | Debut Cycle: 80
Once a heartthrob, Zoe Benne is married to former Chromatik superstar and now White Mountain club manager Erika Morningstar. Zoe has been a constant for fourteen cycles now, and has had to treat everything from sprained ankles to serious injuries after the bus sabotage last cycle. She remains a great asset.

SMC ImageShelby Arling | Age: 35 | Debut Cycle: 87
The presence of Arling as the Social Media Coordinator has become as important as ever. She is the primary communications officer for all things regarding the Senior Squad, and one of the confidants of Repin. All questions go through her, and she takes away any and all distractions.

TACTICAL INFORMATION
(Many thanks to Mytanija for the blueprint.)

Chromatika's 3-4-1-2 is based off of Mytanija's formation.

3-4-1-2 – IN POSSESSION: Chromatika's base formation for World Cup 97 qualification is a 3-4-1-2. This means there will be 3 central defenders, a wing-back on either side, 2 central midfielders, an attacking midfielder and 2 strikers on the pitch at any one time. This does not mean that the team will play in these positions for the whole game, as Chromatiks have adopted the Mytanar philosophy of flexibility in and out of possession, utilizing the fact that until very recently, they ran a 4-3-2-1/4-4-1-1. When Chromatika has the ball the 3-4-1-2 will change into more of a 3-2-5 shape, this is designed to try to create overloads in attacking areas so that the Chromatiks can create two versus one situations where the opposition have to make decisions on who they will engage with.

This 3-2-5 will be achieved firstly by one of the wing-backs (from the starting line-up, this would be right-sided wing-back Jacoliene Hauptmeijer) moving into a central midfield position to play alongside the deeper-lying of the two central midfielders (Jayla Lethbridge-Antonio, if among the Starting XI). This creates a pairing in central midfield which will be used to help the team build-up, providing passing options both in front of the central defensive three and the 5 players which end-up ahead of them.

That 5 is made-up of the opposite-sided wing-back (in this example it would be left wing-back Names Mátyás), the more advanced central midfielder (Þyrill Bjarnhéðinsson), the attacking midfielder (Lee Hyun-Seol); and the strikers (usually Kaytlyn Jean-Baptiste and Harriet Baïe-Verte). The wing-back has to push on to achieve the 3-2-5 shape, getting into the final third and maintaining the width on their side of the pitch. They will be given some license to get into the penalty area if the ball is on the other side, giving another option for their teammates. The more advanced central midfielder will be tasked with playing inside of the wing-back, in the so-called ‘half-space’, they will look to work with the wing-back to create an overload on their side of the pitch.

The attacking midfielder and the two strikers will interchange fairly freely, though one will always be tasked with pulling wide to ensure that width is maintained on both sides of the attacking ‘5’ with the aim of stretching the opposition’s defense across the width of the pitch. One striker (usually Baïe-Verte in the Starting XI) will drop deep to create space for rotations with the attacking midfielder and the other striker, those two looking to run into and exploit the space vacated by the other striker. These rotations are aimed to shift the opposition defenders around the pitch and create a bit of confusion.

In terms of progressing the play the team will look to move the ball with controlled pace. The team will aim to do this with utmost precision, as is the Chromatik way.

3-4-1-2 – OUT OF POSSESSION: Chromatika's reaction to losing the ball depends on where they actually lose possession on the pitch. Should they lose the ball high-up the pitch, in the opposition’s half, then there will be an instantaneous reaction to press the opponent with the ball to try to win it back quickly high-up the pitch. This is hoped to create chances nearer to the opposition’s goal, effectively using the press as a playmaker. If the opponent breaks through the initial press then Chromatika will look to recover into a 5-3-2 shape as below. Should Chromatika lose the ball nearer to their own goal then they will instantly look to recover into defensive positions to try to make themselves difficult to break down. This shape will be closer to a 5-3-2 than the 3-4-1-2 starting formation.

Both wing-backs will drop deeper, alongside the three central defenders to form the 5. The two central midfielders (Lethbridge-Antonio and Lee), will drop deep in front of the three central defenders to shield them a little and the attacking midfielder (Maddie Prenn), will drop to play in front of them, operating as a bit of a guard dog – either sitting on an opposition deep-lying playmaker to try to stop the ball into them, or by leading a half-pitch press. The two strikers will look to stop the ball going back to the opposition’s central defenders and press them when they are in possession.

Chromatika will also play a variety of other formations should they want to play a little differently, the most likely ones they would change to from the 3-4-1-2 are a 3-5-2 (taking out the attacking midfielder and using three central midfielders); a 4-3-1-2 (pushing the wing-backs back to play as full-backs, removing a central defender and replacing them with a defensive or central midfielder); a 4-2-3-1 (pushing the wing-backs back to play as full-backs, removing a central defender and a striker and then playing a winger on either side); or a narrow 4-4-2 diamond (pushing the wing-backs back to play as full-backs, removing a central defender to play either as a defensive or central midfielder). Chromatika is very versed in the 4-2-3-1 and the 4-4-2, as they've played those before under previous management.

STRATEGY SUMMARY: Khabibullina is a motivator through and through who tries to get the most out of her players; the thought is that the strategy is not bad - they just weren't applying themselves fully, or were going through some things. Hopefully, that'll be enough.

Amahne - Stade sur la Baie (70000) - home to Aminey CS (and the Aminey Caspians, Aminey Buffaloes, and Aminey Owls).
The flagship stadium, huge production values, the works. Azure-coloured seating under canvas roofing. A beautiful circular stadium built in foreign Classical traditions.

Shemurdar - Orange Bowl (54000) - home to Schemerdrecht SVV (and the Schemerdrecht Admirals).
More associated perhaps with the Admirals than the SVV, but it's nearly always sold out venue for great crowds in any sport. A robust, somewhat boring square monster with little attention paid to its external looks.

Maethoru - Rikalathen Arena (39000) - home to Maethoru SC (and Mayara Wanderers-Vulpecula).
Close to the KFA's training grounds, at least it has that going for it. Crowds are a little quieter here than elsewhere. A pristine pitch with seating in a few shades of green matching the field, all seating covered.

Ethuweri - Stade Amandine (30000) - home to Tanques AOE (and the Etouille Vultures).
Some amazing drone shots over a stadium, a city, and a crowd that knows what makes life fun. Extremely sponsor-friendly with its skybox layout, at the cost of the view of some nosebleeds.

Thelesra - Estádio Fortaleza (29000) - home to Miradela GD (and the Santa Teresa Sabres).
Made to be exactly 1000 seats larger than their rivals' stadium, the Fortaleza is the upper-class stadium. They tried to make it look old and well-used with a specific standing-only section, but even there the privilege is palpable.
OR
Thelesra - Estádio Marítimo (26000) - home to Branvon CD.
The working class stadium that is, in all facets, a bit inferior to the Fortaleza. Except the crowds. There's no better stadium for wild crowds. Plenty of standing-only areas, no cover, barely making it through inspections.

Monrama - Armskirk Municipal Ground (26000) - home to Maynard AFC.
The unlucky Maynard team have asked the KFA to have their stadium used by the national team - as the only southwestern stadium. The Armskirk isn't a bad stadium by all means, but some of the creative decisions in seating arrangements haven't paid off.

Katahshi - Suzumebachi Stadium (32700) - home to Katashi-Kanatsu.
The biggest stadium in the east, Katahshi deserves a game. The fans will mostly just cheer for eastern players, though. It's a wonderfully modern and digital stadium - the first with screens going all around the place.

Garihnkatar - Golhampton Grounds (31000) - home to Sydberg Olympia.
Garihnkatar never had a big football culture, but that's changed, and the local Olympia have kept pace with the hype. Biggest city in the country, too. It feels like a much bigger stadium than it is, with plenty of options for later enlargement.

Ehbanna - Northern Arena (32000) - home to university team 'Aevanna Ecologiske Universitet'.
The KFA wants some games geographically spread across the country, and so the cold, dark, and cold gridiron Northern Arena is on the list. The largely roofed stadium is partially dug in to prevent the Arena from dominating the skyline.

Alahrenna - Spider Stadium (27100) - home to Advance Alara.
Eastern but not on the island Katahshi's on. Fans are used to seeing a lot of goals - which the Dragonflies don't do. The stadium has a lot of staggered mini-sections, make of that what you will.

Seterdahn - Hazel Arena (25400) - home to Straudum VV.
Biggest stadium in the northeast, as far as the mainland goes. Straudum's style matches the NT's style perfectly. Propped up by the massive (rich) IT sector. It's still sold out more often than not as one of the better stadium experiences out there.

Gilibehri - Uriagali Field (19500) - home to WSR AFC and Pride of Eaglebury.
Biggest/only stadium on the west coast. Gilibehri has an amazing, flourishing sports culture and it's no longer completely ignored by the other 99% of the country. The stadium boasts an impressive view of the mountains.

GK Ludlow Hawkfeather (24) - Maynard AFC
GK Jean-Luc Shoathen (19) - Tanques AOE
GK Galorian Antair (22) - Maethoru SC

LT: "These are the guys we've been following for a while. Ludlow seems the most down-to-earth but maybe that's due to having a stable job at Maynard. Shoathen - just 19 mind you - will get there too. Antair might be a bit antsy for having the Maethoru job at 22 but it's his for a reason - but at a club that big you know there's always a risk. I think we're running with Hawkfeather this summer."

CB Dornared Kambarudhen (19) - Limecroft Et Abyss FC

LB Theklen Senothonnau (23) - Straudum VV
LB Dwrwst yBons (23) - Schemerdrecht SVV

KJ: "On the right: Sehorenden as the basic choice, and Nieuwboom if we need energy - if anyone needs to be kicked over the touch line or if we need a guy to actually cross into the box or whatever. In the middle, Loper-Todaka is a combo I want to develop for the full national team in the World Cup qualifiers, and I really really hope I can turn yGorllaeneal as the necessary third guy in that set. So that's what I'm envisioning for now. Loper as the tactician, Todaka the captain, yGorllaeneal the Breaker of Shins. Actually, all three are fine to do that, but with Lei we have someone qualified and experienced in that exact art. On the left: it's not going to be anyone other than Senothonnau, simple as. Literally the best left back in Anaia, bar none."

LM Yoshinori Takiguchi (24) - Miradela GD
LM Quentin Ron (24) - Tanques AOE

SS Sushoas Gitjiten (22) - Gehrenna FC

KJ: "Look, I've been trying to build 4 and 5-man midfields and I can't do it. This might be a day to day decision kind of thing. I'm in love with our defensive mid options, Andrade the obvious choice right here. I wanted to select more of them but Meigun and yGaelligenaidd felt kind of superfluous, but I do want them to know they're in the running. So that means Azerhendhen, I really want to see more of this guy, will get his shot to show what he adds to the Dragonflies. Nakasarudhen is a no-brainer. And I'm feeling both Uheregun and Takiguchi, actually. They just speak more to me than Modehnidin, or Khrithirithathen. Ok so it should be Uheregun chasing and connecting defence to midfield, and midfielder to midfielder, and Takiguchi keeping distance and hunting for open space."

Image
ST Kou Meifizein (19) - Cresthill United FC
ST Thomas Ugodhen (20) - Miradela GD
ST Toshitsugu Hiraide (23) - Soldarian FC, VAL

KJ: "Alright, I'm straight up not super happy with these picks."
CdV: "Meifizein is so much stronger than she looks, and can hold off so many defenders in the Second Division, where they're often more looking to hit you instead of keep you from scoring. We saw her as more of an anchor point. Ugodhen... is kind of the same mold, we thought Katanmak was looking for a striker like this. And then there's Hiraide, who's more of a free mover - and free spirit - linking up next to the midfield instead of in front. And all three boasted a pretty good conversion rate on their shots on goal with a little time and space to aim."

Image
We play post-football, a term coined during World Cup 89 to put words to a horrible semifinal between Audioslavia and the Dragonflies, which ended 0-0 after 120 minutes, then all but one penalty was scored in the ensuing series. Post-football means no singing. No cheering. No scoring. Post-football is sideways passes, looking like the same, repetitive movements for minutes on end, but with tiny variations that at some point will get to you. It could be a counterattack, or a shot from distance, or a set piece. Post-football doesn't care if it takes 90 or 120 minutes, or more. Under Juliasterinthen and Davenport, the Ko-orenites earned a reputation as the perfectly positioned, tactical-yet-mean defensive team. Containing, capitalising, exploiting. Patience and countering.

Image
It's usually a 5-4-1. Depending on the opponent, the wingbacks can push up either to bolster the midfield or even overlap and supply crosses into a finisher - if we have one - but they should be fine to sit back and wreak havoc on whatever flighty winger the other team tries to sacrifice. The midfield is often a bit of a loose unit, almost always with a strong passer in the middle but it could be three DMs and a CM, or even a completely lopsided formation with all four players on one side. The lone striker is a reliable finisher. There have been 5-5-0 sightings, for if our strikers just aren't good enough to supply structure and strength to the rest of the side.

Numbers 1 to = typically start (but not always, feel free to choose your starters). That's 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, X, and =.
Numbers 1-1= are typically selected as starters or subs (but not always, feel free to select some 23+-ers as subs or starters).
Numbers 20 and over are mostly there as emergency replacements, but can be part of the squad for some games. These are almost always younger players with a lot of promise.

Home field: Hierarch's Field
Outskirts of the Temple on High, Cransia

Image

Capacity: 30,000
Hierarch's Field is always filled to capacity - without exception - although you'll notice most of the populace tends to top out around 5'8" and averages about 5'4" in stark contrast to the players on the field.

If you're visiting! Please do stay within the confines of the stadium and the surrounding campus, purely for your own safety! Wouldn't want you getting lost! After the game, officials will be happy to escort you back to the airport, please don't be late!

Coaching Staff:
Manager/HC: M-192598
Trainer: F-21034

M-192598 is an old veteran general of Cransia's was against the Organization of Democracies back in the 1990s. He's seen some pretty dark stuff, but he's loyal to the Temple and they believe he'll act in its best interest. He's managed to study soccer to some extent and believes he has a solid grasp on basic concepts.

He's had practiced against regular citizens and can at least look like they know what they're doing, but skill wise they're extremely underdeveloped, and even M-192598 doesn't have a great grasp on intricacies of the game, much less his players.

F-21034 is one of the heads of the project Cransia's running to create its super soldiers, and is more here to figure out why something went wrong and how to make sure it doesn't actually happen again, but she's knowledgeable enough in the medical field to do that, too.

Starting Lineup:
Position Number Name Ht. Wt. Age
Forward 0 M-390168 6-3 215 19
Forward 1 M-405710 6-2 195 20
Forward 2 M-420943 6-4 225 21
Midfielder 3 M-410931 6-5 230 22
Midfielder 4 M-422231 6-5 230 21
Midfielder 5 M-410312 6-1 190 24
Defender 6 M-411090 6-6 240 20
Defender 7 M-403045 6-2 200 21
Defender 8 M-405123 6-3 210 22
Defender 9 M-432123 6-3 215 23
Goalkeeper 10 M-403420 6-5 230 21

Cransian coding key:
M: Male
F: Female
Numbers: Code assigned by the government to individuals

The last time Cransia competed on the world stage in anything, it was World Baseball Classic 50. At the time, they were only able to field one prototype of their genetically engineered players - M-299814. Two decades later, they believe they've truly refined the process, and are excited to test out a whole roster of their players in the CAFA. The tournament's primary focus will be on how the athletes perform athletic things, as it was determined that measurables like sprints, jumps, and lifts didn't quite encompass everything they wanted to see.

All of the starters on this roster are borderline-superhuman, but their actual ability to play soccer is very much up in the air - and they're also a big larger than is perhaps ideal for their given task.

Bench/Reserves:
Position Number Name Ht. Wt. Age
Forward 11 M-41098 6 195 27
Forward 12 M-431321 6-4 215 26
Midfield 13 M-422222 6-3 205 27
Midfield 14 M-490153 6-4 220 28
Defender 15 M-499237 6-1 210 27
Defender 16 M-497302 6-2 215 28
Goalkeeper 17 M-491715 6-1 205 30

These players are about a half generation behind on the super soldier project, so they're a bit smaller, a bit older, not quite as fast and strong. The backups aren't expected to get many minutes, given the whole superhuman thing, but they're here in case of injury.

Image

General Overview: Cransia is a theocracy, through and through. Their head of state, prophet to Alhaymana, bears the title of Tusaytir. The Tusaytir retires, into solitude within the Temple on High, of course, and is replaced by her daughter every fifty years to give the appearance of Alhaymana's approval, and thus renewal. is immortal, and every fifty years undergoes a ritual of renewal, in order to both prove her worthiness to her people, and to insure that Alhaymana does still anoint her as his prophet.

The current Tusaytir, having primarily participated in WBC 50 to test out their first prototype super soldier partake in the world stage after seeing their bitter enemy Ranoria do so, now fields a full team of super solider type players - but they might not really know what soccer is. This program is far from public knowledge of course - but as a rule, the nation is corrupt, obsessively theocratic, and overall not good.
Puppet of Ran, if you need to contact me, best to TG me there or better yet, use discord.

~~This nation in no way, shape, or form represents my political, theological, or other views. It's just a poorly run theocracy~~

A miraculous qualifying run and some final-day shenanigans saw the MIR reach its first World Cup, where they promptly flamed out, losing all three of their games. Despite that, they still impressed, and although there's a new manager, the Spiders are hoping to carry their momentum.

Information
Nickname: The Spiders
Formation: 3-5-2
Colors: Black and rust orange
Manager: Tanguy de Montfort (OAM)
Captain: Stanford Katzenburg
Style: +4.236
Good? No, but we did beat the world champions, so...

Bolded players usually start. If no starting lineup is listed, feel free to make one or two changes.

GK - Henri Enwye - 32
GK - Ambrose Pritchard - 22
GK - Edwin Mercurio - 26

Enwye did not have the best time in Squornshelous, allowing 11 goals in just three appearances. Despite that, he's still the Spiders' best option at goalkeeper, as Pritchard hasn't quite gotten to where he needs to be.

DF - Christopher Howell - 30
DF - Scarlett Fenton - 21
DF - Li Cheng - 23

DF - Grace Hall - 28
DF - Kendra Vesperi - 27
DF - Juan Valverde - 19

Vesperi, after she showed her inability to cooperate with the rest of the team, has been moved to the bench, and Scarlett Fenton is replacing her - the young left back was the star of an Australis defense that surprised the nation, allowing the third-least goals in the league.

MF - Stanford Katzenburg - 33 (c)
MF - Giovanni Caballi - 23
MF - Albert Carver - 28
MF - Ursula Barre - 26
MF - Harvey Astor - 24

MF - Adam Panchek - 22
MF - Zenobia Miquan - 30
MF - Gordon Gordon - 27
MF - Andrey Ivanov - 20
MF - Nathan Monteverdi - 28

Caballi and Katzenburg started off qualification listed as forwards, but it became apparent that they functioned more as left and right wings respectively. Of the starting midfielders, only Barre is truly defensive - both Carver and Astor won't hesitate to join in on an attack, and Katzenburg - winner of the "best Martian goal of the cycle" award, as voted by fans - and Caballi are used to playing further up the pitch.

FW - Rohan Jowling - 30
FW - Luke Garamond - 24

FW - Nils Overton - 29
FW - Quinn Taupling - 20

The strongest aspect of the Spiders during WC99 was their attack, averaging just under 2.4 goals per game, and the Jowling-Garamond combination quickly proved itself effective. Goals usually come from breakaways, outpacing and outmaneuvering the opponent.

My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:
Choose my goalscorers: Yes - individual Martians are generally less likely to score multiple goals in a match, but this isn't a hard-and-fast rule.

THE HOT DAMN TEAM
Image

Full Nation Name: Hapilopper Overseas Territories: Dominion Anaia Maritime Neighborhood
Trigramme: HAA
Nickname: Officially: The Beer Leaguers
Team Colors: Blue, Green

Info:
For the second consecutive year, HOT-DAMN has made the knockout rounds of the World Cup. And for the second consecutive year, HOT-DAMN was eliminated in the first knockout round. No matter - it's a good starting point for the future. Head coach Ernie Stevenson has started to transform the HOT-DAMN squad from "beer league team that somehow made it" to "perennial contenders," with a hope to transform them further to "World Cup champions." Already, three former Hapiloppian players - that is, players that used to play on the Mainline Hapilopper squad - have defected to HOT-DAMN, lured there by the promise of a Stevenson-led World Cup winner. Rod Cutt, the real moral paragon whose idea of a good time is to take an opposing player into a bathroom and stuff their face into a toilet, is joined by Tim Radomia, who may or may not smoke out all of Anaia on his first night there, and Huntley McCullough, whose high school classmates named him "Most likely to end up on the wrong side of a police standoff."

COACHING STAFF:
DIRECTOR: James Eaton
Image

Jimmy Eaton, the owner of Laughing Pup Bar across the street from Neighborhood Stadium, decided that it would be difficult for him to keep up with some of the world's top stars, and even more difficult to coach a new breed of rising stars that may not align with his original idea of going out to play, have fun and make new friends along the way. So Jimmy decided he'd step down as head coach and find his replacement. Jimmy, however, still is in charge of the national team as the executive director, a position he holds along with running the bar. In searching for a new head coach, Jimmy found a very surprising replacement.

HEAD COACH: Ernie Stevenson
Image

In a stunning coup, Eaton hired Ernie Stevenson, the former assistant coach of Ellis Football, to serve as the head coach of the HOT-DAMN squad. The hiring of Stevenson marked the first massive salvo in a brewing Hapilopper/HOT-DAMN arms race. During the end of Hapilopper's group stage run in World Cup 98, disagreements were evident between Stevenson and Hapilopper Acting Head Coach Thom Perkins, and following Hapilopper's defeat to Juvencus, a very large, very public argument broke out between the two, where Perkins accused Stevenson of poor tactics, while Stevenson accused Perkins of going away from the method that the late Nathan Ellis had devised to bring the Hapiloppian squad back to prominence. This cycle, Stevenson will rely on the 4-4-2 formation that has worked well for both Hapiloppian and HOT-DAMN squads.

ASSISTANT COACH: Tyler Swanson
GOALKEEPING COACH: Rocky Kemp

HOT-DAMN will use two jerseys for regular players. The first jersey will be worn at most matches, while the second jersey, the Anaia Special, will be worn at a match TBA. The third jersey is for goalkeepers.

PLAYERS:
With the influx of new players arriving to both the Hapiloppian and HOT-DAMN squads, the roster posts have been revamped. There may be a little less detail to go around, but there are more players on both squads to worry about. Not to worry, you'll still learn more about these players as time progresses.

HOT-DAMN PLAYER POOL - WORLD CUP 99 CYCLE
(Likely starters in red, bench players in bold)

GOALKEEPERS

Image

ImageImageImage

## Player Age Position Team Kicks Personality
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
1 Bob Willard 24 Sweeper W.H.Sports Club Right Relaxed
30 Jim Dash 34 Sweeper Kensington Town Left Patient
60 Marc McBeth 27 Save/Pray Garvinson Trojans Right Asshole
90 John Ritchie 24 Save/Pray Pinkerton City SC Right Clumsy

PLAYERS TO WATCH:
Jim Dash (#30) is your most likely starter. Bob Willard (#1) is the second-stringer. Dash is considered one of the leading reasons HOT-DAMN made it to the knockout rounds of World Cup 98 - against any and all prevailing logic. Attempts at trying other goalkeepers ended in disaster. Dash knows this and has grown something of a big head. Before home matches in New Hap City, Dash has insisted on being introduced as the "Bad Dash" Jim Dash - complete with his own theme song that goes "I'm a Dash man, *bewp bewp*, yes I'm a Dash man..." as he shakes his rear end to the delight of the fans in New Hap City, and to the horror of new manager Ernie Stevenson. Despite this blatant display of disgustingness, Dash has turned out to be a very competent and capable goalkeeper. Ernie figures he can put up with Jimmy Dash shaking his ass prior to every HOT-DAMN game if it means he'll keep opposing teams out of goal.

DEFENSEMEN

ImageImageImageImage

ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

## Player Age Position Team Kicks Personality
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
2 Randy Russell 31 Fullback Kensington Town Right Asshole
3 H. McCullough 28 Fullback H.C. Soldiers Right Asshole
55 Gael Hicks 36 Centerback Kensington Town Right Asshole
05 Rod Cutt 29 Centerback Minortown S.C. Right Maj. Asshole

21 Freddy Joyner 33 Fullback Kensington Town Left Patient
22 Elwood Davis 31 Fullback Kensington Town Right Stupid

23 Bruce Tatum 35 Centerback Kensington Town Left Obnoxious
24 Huey Holman 27 Fullback North Hampton FC Right Patient
25 Red Duggan 21 Centerback Pinkerton City SC Right Brooding
26 Stuart Clark 30 Fullback Halsted Heat Right Professional
27 Tanner Barbon 25 Fullback F.C. Hap City Right Calm
28 Brady Jackson 21 Centerback Minortown S.C. Left Clumsy
29 Kaysen Defang 23 Centerback United Hampton C. Left Antisocial

PLAYERS TO WATCH:
Boy, have things changed here. Huntley McCullough and Rod Cutt have defected to HOT-DAMN, and that means massive changes in the defensemen's room. Elwood Davis has been relegated to a bench role - which was probably going to happen anyway. Elwood, the kind of player that'll wake up at 7 in the morning moaning that he can't believe he drank the whole keg, clashed with Ernie Stevenson during the World Cup 99 cycle. Ernie wanted players that he could trust and players he could get going - and Elwood just wasn't that kind of player. The arrival of the two Hapiloppian delinquents, McCullough and Cutt, meant they're starting right out of the box. Cutt, one of the last players personally recruited by the late Nathan Ellis, has taken the number 05 in honor of the fallen dirtiest player in the multiverse. Gael Hicks, a self-professed Ellis fanatic, has graciously given the 05 to Cutt and will the number 55 instead, the highest number offered to a Hapiloppian field player. With four assholes starting in the defensive side of the field, some have joked this may be the most card-happy defense in many, many years.

Likely starters are Russell (#2), McCullough (#3), Hicks (#55), Cutt (#05).

Likely bench players are Joyner (#21), Davis (#22), Duggan (#25), Jackson (#28).

MIDFIELDERS

ImageImageImageImage

ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

## Player Age Position Team Kicks Personality
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
6 Tim Radomia 27 Left Midfield Garvinson Trojans Left Stoner
7 Mark Abbott 19 Right M'field C. Harris' School Right Intense
8 R.J. Grove 22 Def. Midfield Cap City United Right Relaxed

9 Lee Mallinger 20 Off. Midfield Hap City Soldiers Right Superstar
31 Buckshot Belwood 23 Hybrid Midfld Halsted Heat Right Unlucky
32 Anthony Donis 34 Right M'field Kensington Town Right Creative
33 Zack Webster 32 Left Midfield Kensington Town Left Calm
34 Jeff McMurphy 24 Def. Midfield F.C. Buckridge Left Creative
35 Michael Shammes 22 Off. Midfield F.C. Buckridge Right Asshole
36 Hosea Darcy 25 Hybrid Midfld Lake Sprague FC Right Relaxed
37 Henry Fayette 23 Hybrid Midfld Highway Patrol Right Asshole
38 Herb Caldecott 28 Hybrid Midfld Minortown S.C. Right Stupid
39 Kenley Jarrett 23 Hybrid Midfld Washington FC Right Antisocial

PLAYERS TO WATCH:
The third "defect", as some call them, is Tim Radomia. Radomia, who is much more at home burning one while listening to some jam band let out an improvised 45-minute instrumental, has taken over the lead midfielder's slot. Radomia might be the biggest pothead in all of Hapiloppian sport, but he is also possibly the best midfielder in the nation. His physicality can stop an opposing team's goalscoring effort and can kickstart his own team's run to the net. He rarely gets pissed off and he rarely takes out opposing players, so when he does, you better watch out. Joining him in the midfield, surprisingly, is Mark Abbott, considered THE Hapiloppian prospect of the future. At 19 years old and straight out of Cooter Harris's School of Fine Football Learnin', Abbott is not just a threat in the midfield, but a threat to score goals, and goals aplenty. Likely to break away from the pack is Henry Fayette, a 23-year old wizard in the midfield, but someone whose own attitude on and off the pitch may his limiting factor. Simply put: Henry Fayette is a dickhead. He's a dickhead to his teammates, to his friends and to his fans. He thinks he's God's gift to this world, and he might play like it, but such behavior won't last in Ernie Stevenson's team. Also likely to break away from the pack is Buckshot Belwood, a 23-year old hybrid midfielder likely to start games for HOT-DAMN. Buckshot is a magnificent ballplayer, and magnificent in the midfield. He's got the kind of attitude that Ernie Stevenson craves in his ballplayers. Only one problem: Buckshot gets into collisions. A lot. And Buckshot gets hurt. A lot. Supposedly has a blood feud with someone named Randy but that remains to be seen.

Likely starters are Radomia (#6), Abbott (#7), Grove (#8), Belwood (#31).

Likely bench players are Mallinger (#9), Donis (#32), Fayette (#37).

FORWARDS

ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

## Player Age Position Team Kicks Personality
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
10 Cale Mallett 21 Goalscorer Highway Patrol Left Superstar
11 Justin Cherry 23 Goalscorer Garvinson Trojans Right Professional

41 Ted Ingram 30 Striker Kensington Town Right Professional
42 Daquan Simmons 20 Striker C. Harris' School Right Relaxed
43 Albert DeWine 22 Goalscorer Garvinson Trojans Left Antisocial
44 Vince Jackson 24 Goalscorer Lake Sprague FC Right Goofball
45 Larry Gavin 29 Striker Hap City Generals Right Redneck
46 Jack Tracy 31 Striker Halsted Heat Right Indifferent
47 Aaron Courtney 24 Striker Halsted Heat Right Intense
48 A.J. Butterball 23 Goalscorer F.C. Hap City Right Obnoxious
49 Zack Rudd 26 Striker Cap City United Right Brooding

PLAYERS TO WATCH:
This is a totally revamped squad from the old beer league squad. Leading the way is Cale Mallett, whose artistic style of goalscoring resembles that of a younger Ernie Stevenson from his day. Mallett knows it, too. Mallett feels he is good enough to play in some of the international club leagues around the multiverse - which sounds great on paper, but may be difficult to pull off due to Hapilopper's recently insulated attitude towards international players and clubs. So if you never see Hapiloppian players on the transfer window or Hapiloppian teams not bidding, that's why.

Either way, Mallett is quite the goalscorer and is hoping to replicate Ernie's infamous "hop-skip-holy shit" goal from years gone by. Ernie is trying to dissuade him from this and is concerned his attitude may turn out to be a negative for the team, not a positive. Justin Cherry, the other goalscorer, has expressed some concern that Mallett is trying to build the team into a showcase for himself and not into a unit set for everyone. Cherry has discussed this concern with Stevenson, who agrees with this sentiment. It will be interesting to see what happens with these two players, particularly if the results don't show like they did not do during the CAFA Cup.

Likely starters are Mallett (#10), Cherry (#11).

Likely bench players are Ingram (#41), Butterball (#48).

Manager: Fico Carbone
Carbone returns for his third tournament at the helm of the Foxes. Results under Carbone have been mixed and rumours are flying that the FGCP is giving him one final chance to lead the team to its second title. The wily Pacitalian will himself be looking for a much stronger showing this time out, as many fans were left disappointed that the Blue Foxes' listless offence left them bounced from the tournament at the end of the first round.

The roster is unchanged from CAFA Cup XI, but Carbone has decided to embrace a less defensive playing style to gin up goal production. Carbone faced heavy criticism in the Pacitalian sport press in the previous Cup for a much-too-conservative style that resulted in just a pair of goals scored, and no wins. Pacitalia supporters will have to hope that Carbone can squeeze a better result out of this squad in the 12th edition of the tournament, relying on the fact that he is still well-liked by the players and continues to (or at least appears to) command their respect.

THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF ESTORVIPA AND ESTORPIVA
NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM

The Federal Republic of Estorvipa and Estorpiva is a federal union between two states, the Federation of Estorvipa and the Republic of Estorpiva, created on 22 November 2019 after the two states agreed to unite together and present a combined front against the other rebel sides in the Estorian Civil War. The Federal Republic is backed by the Democratic People's Republic of the United Socialist States of Pridnestrovia (or just Pridnestrovia for short), which was an ally of the old Estorvipan People's Republic before it collapsed into numerous competing factions and states, and Pridnestrovia decided that the Federal Republic was the most stable nation-state that they could support in this war. But despite being backed by a "socialist" nation and adopting some socialist imagery, the Federal Republic is a democratic republic with free and fair elections for the 27 million people under its governance, and its ultimate aim is to reunite the Vipan and Pivan lands peacefully, but if the Federal Republic must use force to restore peace and order in the land then it will certainly do so.

BASIC INFORMATION
Name of nation: Federal Republic of Estorvipa and Estorpiva
Demonym: Estorian
Team colors: Yellow. blue, and red
Style modifier: -2.00
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Head coach: Foma Korniyenko (60 y/o, male, Pridnestrovia)

STARTERS
GK: Aleksandr SUSLOPAROV 25 y/o, male, Molodets Pionersky (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
He was perhaps the one bright spot in what has been a season to forget for Molodets. Everyone knows that the Pionersky academy side is never going to get promoted to the Federal Top League anytime soon, but they also didn't have to be the entire Second League's doormat every single time. He is an excellent goalkeeper despite the state of the defense in front of him, and there is a non-zero chance that he could be moving to another team sooner rather than later.

RB: Ruslana SAVELYEVA 30 y/o, female, FC Panticapaeum (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
She is without doubt a good defender, but it's almost as if she maxed out on defending in football and forgot to put points into developing other aspects of her game. Her passing leaves a lot to be desired, her technique is poor, and her pace may as well be nonexistent. In all honesty, she should be more of a center half than a full-back, but Estoria has a surprising dearth of right backs, and she was basically the best of the rest.

RCB: Roman POKLONSKY 23 y/o, male, FK Gepgorod (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
He is an excellent defender with solid passing range, which seems to suggest the direction in which Foma Korniyenko wants to take when it comes to his tactical vision. However, that is as far as the positives go for this player, which would probably explain why he is still playing for Gepgorod despite the fact that ball-playing defenders have become very much in vogue over the past few seasons in a lot of football leagues. Perhaps it's actually a good thing that he's managed to fly under the radar for this long; Gepgorod needs all the help that they can get now that they might be bouncing in between Estoria's Top League and the Second League.

LCB: Lukas KUKUMBERG 32 y/o, male, Exiles FK (Pridnestrovia)
He's reached the prime of his career, just in time to finally become part of the Federal Republic's starting eleven. Lukas is already a very good defender by pretty much any metric one could think of and still improving, and it isn't just the actual defending that's setting him apart from his peers; he also has solid pace and technique with the ball. The man pretty much has everything. Well, not everything though. His passing is actually the weakest part of his game, and by weak, it really is weak. If it's possible for someone to limp-wrist kicking a football, Lukas would be the one to prove it possible. Now he has to figure out how not to do all of that now that he's a starter for the national team.

LB: Tatjana ARNAUTOVIC 28 y/o, female, FC Cavaleri Urodorasul (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
She is another refugee from the anarchist north who didn't like how the gangs were running the show as well as affecting the outcome of the league in more ways than one. It also didn't help that said gangs had threatened to break her legs if she didn't get herself sent off in a game, so she fled for the Federal Republic as soon as she could. It was a good thing that she got out of the north as quickly as she did as both the Federal Republic and Cavaleri Urodorasul would have lost out on a great player had she stayed to an uncertain fate in the north. She is a solid defender with good enough pace to recover her marker should they manage to get away from her the first time. Apart from that though, she is completely unremarkable and would blend in easily in a crowd.

RM: Kresimir TASIĆ 33 y/o, male, FC Cavaleri Urodorasul (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
Here's a good playmaker with good passing and adequate technique. What more can someone ask of Kresimir Tasic? Some maturity and levelheadedness, it turns out. All of those aforementioned skills mean squat when he can't keep his head on his shoulders when the situation requires it. If Kresimir is angry and wants to take out an opposition player's legs, nothing will stop him, not even the knowledge of an impending red card. But in the rare times that he's actually calm, Kresimir is actually an impressive asset on the pitch. It just seems like he spends more time off it than on because of suspensions and such.

LM: Grigoriy ZAYAKIN 29 y/o, male, SC Batgeyt-1 (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
Some would even go so far as to say that he was responsible for Batgeyt's domination in the new Federal Second League of Estoria. The local lad is the epitome of the defensive midfielder; the rock in the middle of the pitch through which everyone and everything must go through with no regard if it's for his team or against it. He can defend, he can run, he can tackle, he can ping a pass to practically any corner of the pitch. And to think that just two years ago, he was doing all of this for the love of the game and not getting paid a lot.

RW: Boško BOROJEVIĆ 30 y/o, male, FK Spartak Rybolovlev (Estorpiva and Estorpiva)
He is a jack of all trades; practitioner of all but master of none. It probably stems from the fact that he played every conceivable position (yes, even goalkeeper) in order to find his place in what has been a stacked Spartak roster before finally nailing down the defensive midfielder position. He might not be the kind of player that wins games, but his presence on the pitch could still mean the difference between defeat and a draw, or a draw and a win.

CAM: Baltazar KOLOMYJSKI 32 y/o, male, FK Traktor St. Paulsburg (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
It shouldn't really be that hard to nail down where Baltazar would fit in a football team. He has a formidable right foot on him that has led him to scoring some incredible goals from pretty much any conceivable range, yet somehow he couldn't use that same right foot for anything more than some basic passing and crossing if it came to that. So why in the world is he listed as a midfielder and not a forward? Call it a quirk in the new manager's methodology. Or call it the fact that Baltazar did all of that in an attacking midfield position.

LW: Tony PASCALIN 32 y/o, male, FC Cavaleri Urodorasul (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
If it weren't for the victory of the Federal Republic over the rest of the warring states in the Estorian Civil War, Anaia might never have been able to lay their eyes on this lad. Tony is an excellent striker with very good ball handling technique, but because he is an ethnic Pivan and the former State of Estorpiva didn't have the funds or the will to assemble their own national football team in the few years that it was in existence, he never would have been able to play against another country. All that said, he may be very good at putting the ball in the back of the net and even dancing his way out of trouble but he also can't run to save his own life.

ST: Oleh LOBANOVSKY 32 y/o, male, All-Inclusive Haranguer (Abanhfleft)
A somewhat versatile player who can play both in the middle or the left side of an attacking three formation. His pace and passing stats are about as average as one can get, but he also has a surprisingly clinical finish. If anything, he can annoy the opposition's defensive line as much as he can for as long as he can. If he does it coming off the bench, it leaves room for the Federal Republic to score some late goals, and if he does it as a starter, he leaves the defense vulnerable for the substitutes to take on.

RESERVES
GK: Viktor IVANOV 32 y/o, male, Bierburger SV (Pridnestrovia)
Known both for his dedication to his chosen profession and for being a model professional. He knows that he probably won't get a lot of game time being the third-choice goalkeeper but given his potential, it's probably only a matter of time before he becomes the primary custodian for the Federal Republic. Now elevated to the backup goalkeeper position, and could still make the number 1 shirt his in a couple of years.

GK: Gleb PAROV 38 y/o, male, FK Traktor St. Paulsburg (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
An excellent keeper for his age and has loads of pace which allows him to charge out of his box to intimidate opposing strikers, but has poor stamina which means that he might start sticking around his area as the game goes on.

DF: Svitlana KONDRATYUK 28 y/o, female, FK Chornyy Volodymyrivka (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
She has good pace and passing, but as far as actual defending goes, she is surprisingly weak at it. But given how right back has suddenly become one of Estoria's problem positions, she really is the best that they could come up with in terms of bench options. Pray for all Estorian right backs, and pray for the right side of the Estorian defense.

DF: Pylyp BRAHINSKYY 21 y/o, male, SC Batgeyt-1 (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
He is Batgeyt born and bred, and while SC Batgeyt-1 currently has his services, don't expect him to stick around with that team for very long, even if Denys Kucherenko might be incentivized to keep him around for a long time. Talent like him is very much sought after in all corners of multiversal football, and at his age and with his skillset, he is going to be in demand anywhere and everywhere. It's not hard to see why; not only is he a very good defender but he also has solid passing range. The only thing going against him is his tragic pace, but as long as he doesn't have to venture far away from the back line, he should be fine.

DF: Georgiy BORODIN 26 y/o, male, Estorija Kladushnitsa (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
The Federal Republic finally managed to find a defender who can actually defend. Not just that but he can also track back to his position when needed. The only downside is that he gets tired easily. As a bench option? Not really an issue. But should the time come that he manages to cement his position in the starting eleven, then that becomes a problem. But that problem apparently is one that is reserved for whoever will be managing the Federal Republic's football team in the future.

DF: Fyodor RUSTAMOV 24 y/o, male, Uran Bilohodar (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
Well-rounded defenders seem very difficult to find in the Federal Republic. There's always one aspect of their game which turns out to be lacking for what the national team needs. In Fyodor Rustamov's case, it's the fact that he has the pace of an old snail. No, not just that, he has the pace of an old snail crawling over cement adhesive. At least he's a good defender who can actually play 90 minutes if needed. Just don't expect him to run anywhere quickly if at all.

MF: Arkady TEPLINSKY 29 y/o, male, FC Foc Feuerstadt (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
It's hard to tell where he is best suited to play on the pitch. Sometimes, he would be the only player trying to score goals for Foc Feuerstadt, and other times he would be more busy setting up the defense. He has been listed down as a midfielder as a compromise upon getting called up, but expect this confusion in his best to mean that he actually won't get played a lot over the course of this tournament.

MF: Wanjiku VAGNER 24 y/o, female, Eielo Sunlight Women (Abanhfleft)
Black footballers are a rare sight in the Federal Republic. Female black footballers are even rarer still. A female black footballer with Estorian citizenship who's actually willing and able to represent the Federal Republic? Now that's a unicorn. But that is exactly what she is. If she hadn't burst into the Fleftic footballing scene out of nowhere then no one would have even given her a second thought. The fact that a large Estorian diaspora exists may be seen as a bad thing for those who stayed behind in the motherland through all the conflicts, but without said diaspora there wouldn't be a defensively solid midfielder named Wanjiku Vagner from said diaspora whom the Federal Republic could call up.

MF: Zhanna PAPIROVA 33 y/o, female, FK Mamai Ihorivtsi (Pridnestrovia)
She's a good playmaker over on the right wing, and a surprisingly good defender as well when the situation demands. However, she's not the fastest person on the pitch, and her passing leaves a lot to be desired as well, but the Federal Republic needs some wingers to fill in the gaps left behind by the Kunaplenko siblings retiring from international football. There were probably better options out there, but none that could be called up on such short notice. But she might be able to make a name for herself in this team regardless.

FW: Svetlana FUNAROVA 22 y/o, female, FK Mamai Ihorivtsi (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
Looks like she broke through at just the right time. With Zhanna Papirova electing to step away from international duties, the Federal Republic needs a new fast-paced winger who could cause headaches for the opposition's defense while also being a potent goalscoring threat. That is exactly what Svetlana Funarova is. Unfortunately, the one thing she doesn't have in her arsenal is passing range. She crosses a lot but she doesn't find her target more times than she does. But as long as she can score goals, that's a gap in her game that's easily overlooked.

FW: Bohdan TATULYAN 28 y/o, male, FK Mamai Ihorivtsi (Estorpiva and Estorpiva)
He is the definition of keeping one's head down and letting the results come to him. He was nothing special when he first broke through Mamai's system, but within a couple of years he had finally managed to cement his place in the first team of the inaugural Federal Top League champions. Silverware still eludes him for now, but for a striker with 65 goals in 5 seasons of first team football, surely it only has to be a matter of time before he finally gets his hands on at least one trophy.

FW: Vyacheslav TSYGANOV 26 y/o, male, CSKA Tiraspol (Pridnestrovia)
He was tearing it up in Pridnestrovia's youth football leagues as one of the best strikers that CSKA had produced, so much so that it was only a matter of time before eyes turned to him with an eye of recruiting him towards representing one country or another. As with a lot of other Estorians, Vyacheslav Tsyganov's family fled their old motherland due to the civil war, and Vyacheslav could have represented Pridnestrovia if he wanted due to because he had already lived there since he was two years old, but the call of Estoria was strong in his heart and he chose to put on the yellow shirt instead of the red-and-green one.

space laser dinosaur robot pirate land is remarkably tactically innovative, blending a combination of hypergegenpressing and total football. or maybe it’s just that preschoolers like to all run to the ball and stick close to their friends. who can say for sure? all we know is, we hope everyone involved has fun and makes new friends!

the coaches will attempt to reintroduce subbed-off players back into the match and use (much) more than three substitutions. if the fourth referee actually enforces the laws of the game, however, the team will likely simply have its players change “positions” throughout the match — though aside from goalkeeper, this won’t really have much impact on what actually happens on the pitch.

the coaching staff will also ask for water breaks. lots and lots of water breaks. and also orange slice breaks, and apple juice breaks, and fruit snack breaks, and…

godmod anything and everything, as long as you keep it friendly. (that is to say, injuries shouldn’t be anything the school nurse couldn’t deal with, and deaths are strictly off limits.) if you have any ideas or questions, feel free to dm me. i’d also understand if you choose to pretend this is a team of normal professional players instead of preschoolers, but to be clear, this is a team of preschoolers, so have fun with it.

  • None of the players know what the offside rule is. Accordingly, at least one will usually stand next to or behind the opposing goalkeeper to receive the ball, whether their team is actually in possession or not. Referees may or may not permit this, since they’re adorable.
  • Players in space (or not in a cluster) will often find themselves alone because the rest of their teammates ran towards the ball more quickly, because they either are not quite as fast, are a little tired, or don’t really want to run right now. And honestly, fair enough.
  • Both when in and out of possession, most players will cluster towards the ball. Because they’re preschoolers. And that’s what they do. They want to play with the ball. They yearn to hypergegenpress. That’s fun. Are you going to tell them they’re wrong?
  • Some players may get bored and not want to play anymore, due to distraction or tiredness. They will eventually be substituted out when this occurs, but they may play in the grass or something for a while in the meantime. And why not? What’s so wrong with that?
  • Players may play at most one quarter of any match in goal, to allow all players the chance to play in more active, involved positions. This rule promotes fitness and fun for everyone on the team. It also means this team plays totaalvoetbal.

Kits

Home, Away, and Third

Image Image Image

Kits are self explanatory – they are the shirt designs that all ten of our outfield players will wear (and substitutes when entering the field at the appropriate time). They will all wear the same shirt design at the same time.

For those of you who are triggered by images of football shirts, Bostopia will play in our traditional lime home kit with white and blue v-stripes, red and white stripes as our away kit, and blue third.

If your team is not designated as the home team, and your colours clash with ours, you will change your kits to an alternative. Our goalkeepers will wear a plain shirt, in a flourescent colour which we feel your players will dislike the most. That we need to say this is nothing short of ridiculous, but our players will of course also wear shorts, socks, shinpads and boots. The shorts and socks will match the primary colour of the shirt. The shorts all have a white stripe on each side. The socks will have two white hoops at the top of the sock.

The first player(s) named in each area of the team start the game. Our line-up will broadly be as follows (unless you RP one of our players has an injury or something):

GK: O.T. Perrytribe
DsL-R: Krings, Embersway, Greentender(C), Waite
MCs: Manuel, Clifftreader, Ranning
SCs: O.T. Finches, Newlands, Midnight

Further information on the players is below if it is required and/or of interest.

Number, Name, Position, Age, Place of Birth, Club
All players male (He/Him) unless specified

1 – Daniel WAITSMAN - GK – 31 – Remmerham, Mournhow Island Image – Juniper Mournhow F.C. Image
12 - Moyake ONYEFULU - GK – 38 – Dugba, Cobrio Jensee Island – CF Solidarite Akash, Cobrio
She/Her
Onyefulu is half-Ochreite, being born to an Ochreite mother. Whilst convention in Cobrio is for the mother's name to be carried over, Onyeful's own mother was insistent she take her father's name. She is currently playing for CF Solidarite Akash and is one of four overseas players drafted in by the Ochre Islands during the current crisis.

Defenders - 8
18 - John KRINGS – DL – 29 – Rocksminster, Anley Image – Lucyston Anley XI Image
2 – Elry o.t. EMBERSWAY – DC– 27 – Sunny Cove, Chaffinch Island Image – Lansdorn F.C. Image

16 - Kyle WAITE- DR – 32 – Obberby, Dracaena Image – Cottsworth City Image
5 - Manny SECONDBREATH – DR – 25 – Lucyston, Anley Image – C.D. Isla del Fuego Image
Amongst a very fit, professional squad, Gorgewalker is probably the fittest player on the team, largely in part due to his enjoyment of walking along the many gorges that make up the Ochre hinterland. Employed as a wing-back by West Bellflower, Gorgewalker displays many fine qualities going forward and in defence.
6 – Sammy GATSTON - DC – 30 – Nuntsby, Handsby Image – Nuntsby City Image
3 - Michael WATERTON - DL – 37 – Endswick, Handsby Island Image – Nottshore Turquoise Image
Waterton comes from a small hamlet just outside Endwick called 'Waterton', which his father named when he first settled the area and is set on building a new town there. Wanting to stay local and help his family, Waterton has turned down offers from larger clubs to stay with Nottshore Turquoise, who are based on his home island of Handsby.
15 – Julian SACKHOLME - DC – 37 – Bellflower, Mournhow Island Image – Ousevale Borough
Sackholme was born in Bellflower to parents who were members of Krytenia's diplomatic corps. He spent the first few years of his life in Bellflower, before moving to Ousevale, his parents hometown. Whilst he hasn't been able to secure a place in Borough's starting XI, he's keen to impress during the Cup of Harmony to further put his name in the plans of Ousevale's manager.

8 - Luca BRIDGEBUILDER – - AMC – 34 – Aguaclara, Cardenao Image – Bellflower A.U. Image
Bridgebuilder is the shining star of Bellflower A.U. XI's youth academy and currently plies his trade in the first team in the Ochre First Division. Born on a small island in Cardenao to two Ochre Island parents, he is the first dual-Anaian citizen to play for the Ochre Islands. As well as football, Bridgebuilder also has a strong interest in diplomatic relations and is already tipped for a political career once his still-young playing days are over.
20 - Eliot SUNTELLER - - D/MC – 35 – Renhold, Mournhow Image – Lansdorn F.C. Image
Sunteller is a promising young footballer brought along to CAFA 6 to give him some experience on the regional stage before possibly making the WC94 squad. His mother, a follower of Byerxys and noted soothsayer raised him on her own from young following his father's untimely passing. Sunteller currently plays for Lansdorn, where whilst he makes a good number of appearances from the bench, clearly shows a lot of promise and potential.

Withlinens is a player who began to excel under Richard Valens, willing to throw himself forward at a moments notice to turn a three person front-line into four people, as well as provide defence-splitting passes from the midfield.

A relation of the former Prime Minister, Willow of the Finches, there have been comments that Marisse is here based on her name rather than ability. Whilst Marisse isn't exactly short of talent, there's still an argument that she's much too inexperienced to have been taken to international competition by the national side.

She/Her
Susana had big shoes to fill, having taken the place and number of the Ochres Bostopian-born wonderchild, Blue Gibson. However, this isn't the first time she'd been faced with adversity, moving to Cobrio early on as her mother took a job in an international freight firm in Callisto, Hearthlands, who had a lot of trade with the Ochres. She rose through the youth ranks at Heart of Omorfio, then broke into their first team aged only 17. She signed for nearby 'rivals' Callisto City at 18, then moved to Dynapolis United in Cobrio's second city at 21. Surprise has been expressed in some quarters that it's taken Russo this long to catch the eye of the national team, but it's not taken anyone in Cobrio by surprise that she has shone on this stage.

Kits & Logo

Home, Away and Third
Image Image Image
Whilst the Ochres are almost recovered from the war, OchreSport and the OIFA have decided to use the same kits as were used during CAFA 8 to save on expenses and materials.
The home kit is a traditional striped ochre, blue and white scheme.
The away kit is a selection of colours taken from the flags of two of the Ochres cities.
The third kit is a contiuation of the 'Anaiaway' theme, reminding us that even when away from home, we are still at home in our region.
Before CAFA 2, the Ochre Islands Football Association ran a competition to design the team's logo, which was won by a 34 year old man with neither design experience or taste. Fortunately, an update of the design to account for taste was commissioned and outsourced by the OIFA, which is as below. The badge prominently features a 'little mint green hat', which actually commerorates the Ochre Islands victory in the second CAFA tournament.

The Ochre Islands play a possession-based style of football which aims to prevent the opposition from scoring by simply not letting them have the ball. The players will be taking chances when playing the ball forward and passing into space when it's available and there is a strong chance of us retaining possession.

CAFA Cup XII Bid
Warkus

This is the Warkus Football Association's (WFA) bid to host the 12th edition of the CAFA Cup.

Format:
We currently have 20 signups, including 1 puppet. Since it has been a while since signups were opened, I’m going to assume we’re probably not going to get more than 4 additional signups. If the number of signups is not divisible by 4 then I will cut puppets first and if necessary the most recent signup(s). If any more than 2 signups need to be cut, then I will sign up a puppet to make up the difference.

20 teams: 4 groups of 5, single round robin. The top 2 teams in each group advance to AFL ‘Final 8’ style knockout stages. In this format, the group winners make it to the Winner’s Quarterfinals, and the 2nd place teams make it to the First Elimination Finals. The losers of the Winner’s Quarterfinals get a second chance in the Second Elimination Finals/repechage against the winners of the First Elimination Finals.

24 teams: 4 groups of 6, single round robin. The winners of each group advance to AFL ‘Final 8’ style knockout stages, while 2nd and 3rd place teams compete in a Playoff Round for the chance to advance to the First Elimination Finals.

Tiebreakers: Points, Goal Difference, H2H Points, H2H Goal Difference, Coin Flip (a H2H game scorinated with RP bonus only)

Scorination/RP Bonus/Schedule:
I will be using xkoranate with the SQIS formula and additive style modifiers.

RP bonus will be generous and cumulative. I will grade RPs in terms of overall quality rather than quantity or length. In other words, brevity will not be punished or rewarded by default. Roster bonus will be equivalent to 1 matchday’s RP bonus.

The first cutoff will be on August 28 (yeah, I know, that's nearly 3 weeks away!). Each matchday will be scorinated every 48 hours at approximately 23:00 UTC. I will seek third party scorination for any games involving Warkus.

Hosting Experience:
A very long time ago Warkus hosted the 11th edition of the International Basketball Championships and all 3 editions of the long dead Warkus International Cup. That’s it. Please ask questions/tell me my format doesn't work/ask why my flag uses the Twitter dove emoji and so on because it's been a while.
Host of the 11th International Basketball Championship and the 12th CAFA Cup
1st: World Lacrosse Championship 46
2nd:
3rd: World Lacrosse Championship 45
4th/Semis: 4th Quidditch World Cup, Cup of Harmony 92
