A trip to Kaumann and Flavovespia were profligate in front of goal, costing them two points. Looking to bounce back after defeat to Xanneria, Flavovespia instead found themselves with more questions than answers after this performance.
It could’ve been so very different if in the 3rd minute, Anthony Lane’s long range shot had gone in, instead Mulyana Karisma tipped the ball away. Flavovespia flew out of the gates, keen to get goals before Kaumann could settle.
However for Flavovespia it went the other way. Midway through the first half, Putra Florian drove past Roger Burden down the wing. Cutting inside, a fierce shot beat Peter Marriott on his inside and went in. 1-0 Kaumann, the hosts thrilled.
Mere minutes later though, Flavovespia’s biggest chance. Jonathan Bagshaw was fouled in the box by Jiro Yonezu, no doubt a penalty there. Charles Shepherd stepped up, but put the ball over and wide, a shock for Flavovespia but delight for the hosts. Could it be there day?
Flavovespia made sure they’d get at least one in the 35th minute. Jonathan Bagshaw turned on the skill, sneaking through the defence before a composed finish past Karisma. Another chance went begging just before the break, leaving it 1-1.
Flavovespia had plenty of chances in the second half, but Kaumann were in inspired form, and the goalkeeper and defence proved too formidable. Of course, poor finishing was a key factor, and even with almost all of the attacking players switched in substitutions, forward output was lacking. 1-1 it was to be, Flavovespia having some questions to answer about their title defence.

Flavovespia made it harder than it needed to be, but 3 points went their way against Unitarnia. A controversial decision to give the red card put nerves into Flavovespia, but ultimately it didn’t affect the outcome of the game.
Something of a more cautious start for Flavovespia this time, after early goals conceded twice now, they were in no mood to let Unitarnia get the initiative. That said Unitarnia were often pinned back, and were certainly not afraid to make some strong challenges. Charles Shepherd would prove to be the one to open the scoring. After a tough day out last time, he found the net here, tapping in Anthony Lane’s cross at the near post, after a defensive mix up.
10 minutes later though, and the 36th minute saw a red card produced. Fouled by a late sliding tackle that sent Anthony Lane sprawling into an advertising hoarding, the winger leapt up and kicked the ball full force into the face of the Unitarnia defender. The referee adjudged that to be violent conduct, and out came the dreaded card, despite protests by the Flavovespia players and fans, and anger about yet another rough challenge on their side. Compounding the misery, just before the break, a free kick routine saw Unitarnia get a header on goal to equalise, another game with no clean sheet for Peter Marriott.
Down to 10 and the game tied, it was make or break for Flavovespia in the second half. However they made it thanks to a double by Jonathan Bagshaw. He gave Flavovespia the lead in the 52nd minute, on the break with a good shot just outside the box. He scored again in the 63rd minute, and underhit pass out the back letting him in, and he made no mistake at close range. Unitarnia had attacks late on, unsurprisingly with a man advantage, but Peter Marriott was able to save anything his way. A win for Flavovespia in a slightly shaky campaign so far, now they hope to press on and find the Top 3.
