(AI Disclosure: The pictures of people and of the stadium on this roster post were generated using ChatGPT, while the picture of Dom Probst was generated some time ago using Stable Diffusion. This is such because I can't draw worth shit. But I don't use AI in my writings and you shouldn't either.)

ELLIS FOOTBALL: THE HAPILOPPIAN TEAM
Full Nation Name: The Dominion of Hapilopper
Trigramme: HAP
Nickname: The Haps, Mainline Hapilopper, the Mainline Haps
Team Colors: Blue, Green

Info:
A schism has developed in the aftermath of Hapilopper's elimination in World Cup 98. A mixture of infighting from the Hapiloppian side and the HOT-DAMN squad seeking to remain competitive has meant that Hapiloppian football has essentially split in two. You have the Team Hapilopper players, players that have been invited to play for the Mainline Haps, and those that, to the surprise of everyone, chose to defect to play for HOT-DAMN. Ernie Stevenson, perhaps buoyed by disagreements between him and Thom Perkins, left Team Hapilopper to become the manager of the HapAnaia squad. Perkins is looking at building a brand new staff and hoping that his team will maintain some of the momentum it had when it qualified for World Cup 98. This could wind up being an off year for Hapilopper, whose team had a very unimpressive Campionato Esportiva. This is a bad time to have a bad year. The team will debut a new stadium this year, a 120,000-seat stadium in the middle of the Hapilopper National Exhibition Grounds. On top of that, Hapiloppian executives would like to have some way to make this team as competitive as possible before that landmark 100th World Cup coming next year.

COACHING STAFF:
DIRECTOR: Dominic Probst
Image

Dominic Probst, more commonly known as "Dom", is the man in charge of the sport of football in Hapilopper. He'd like to be in charge of all football in Hapilopper. We probably wouldn't have had HOT-DAMN if he was. He's run the sport in Hapilopper since the early 2000s, and was directly responsible for Hapilopper fielding a national team 16 years ago. After a brief time away, he returned to the helm several years ago. He developed an uneasy truce with Nathan Ellis as Ellis built his own national team from the ground up. After Ellis died, the team retained the name "Ellis Football" as a memorial to him. But questions remain just how long that memorial will stand. Rumors stand that Probst

PERMANENT HEAD COACH: Nathan Ellis
Image

The shadow of the late Nathan Ellis looms large over both the Hapiloppian and HOT-DAMN squads. For a refresher: Ellis was Hapilopper's ill-tempered and very violent starting defenseman dating back to the days of the Baptism of Fire. Ellis gained a reputation as a violent gentleman but the most important figure for Hapilopper's football program. He was the spiritual leader of Hapiloppian football, and after restarting the national team in his own image, he was the leader of Hapiloppian Football for sure. Ellis contracted double pneumonia and passed away several years ago from complications. Both Team Hapilopper and HOT-DAMN lay claim to being the side Ellis would have supported - HOT-DAMN especially so with Ernie Stevenson running it. The truth is probably somewhat more complicated than that.

ACTING HEAD COACH: Thomas Perkins
Image

Thom Perkins, Hapilopper's original head coach, took the job back after Ellis's death. His offense-heavy style of football - the so-called "Funball" style of football that was popularized by Ellis - will allow goals to be scored, but it will score plenty of goals against sides that are not ready for it. While Perkins' tenure at Team Hapilopper is secure due to his close allegiance with Dom Probst, it remains to be seen if the fans will continue to tolerate his presence. The rift between he and Ernie Stevenson was very public and Stevenson, beloved among Hapiloppians, made his feelings known about the whole situation. This has made Perkins incredibly unpopular among Hapiloppian sports fans. It's plenty possible he may have to lead this team all the way to the top for the fans to forgive him. Perkins relies on a 4-4-2 formation.

STADIUMS:
Nathan Ellis SuperStadium | Hapilopper City | Built: 2030
Capacity: 120,032 | Open-Air | Natural Grass
Image

The long-awaited new stadium for Team Hapilopper, Ellis SuperStadium sits on the grounds of the Hapilopper National Exhibition. The multi-purpose stadium can house multiple codes of football, including gridiron and association, and baseball. But the only permanent tenants in National Exhibition Stadium are the Hapilopper National teams of football and baseball, should that ever exist again. The club teams for both baseball and football remain in Capital Stadium across town. The point of the new stadium is simple: A large enough home for Hapilopper's national team, and a home for a Hapiloppian World Cup Final, should Hapilopper ever host a World Cup Proper. The stadium would become the centerpiece of a "Hapilopper World Cup Exhibition," where Hapilopper's biggest annual party of the summertime, the Hapilopper National Exhibition, would be retooled around the World Cup Proper, and the centerpiece of the national fair would be the World Cup Final.

PLAYERS:
With the influx of new players arriving to both the Hapiloppian and HOT-DAMN squads, the roster posts have been revamped. There may be a little less detail to go around, but there are more players on both squads to worry about. Not to worry, you'll still learn more about these players as time progresses.

HAPILOPPER PLAYER POOL - WORLD CUP 99 CYCLE
(Likely starters in red, bench players in bold)

GOALKEEPERS
## Player Age Position Team Kicks Personality
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
1 Lou Hyde 28 Sweeper United Hampton Right Brooding
30 Manny Wakefield 26 Sweeper Highway Patrol Right Intense
60 Fox Humbert 23 Save/Pray Lake Sprague FC Left Clumsy
90 Bernie Willoughby 21 Standard FC Surrey Left Creative
91 Clint German 34 Sweeper Minortown SC Right Goofball
92 Denny Wagg 20 Standard Hap City Generals Right Obnoxious
93 Randall Herta 29 Standard Surrey United Right Relaxed
94 Alex Hargrove 30 Sweeper FC Buckridge Right Professional
95 Adam Haverty 28 Standard W.H. Sports Club Right Stupid

PLAYERS TO WATCH:
Louis Hyde is retained as the starting keeper for Team Hapilopper. A quiet, dark-haired man that sits in his corner by himself, Hyde prefers the company of his cat, Smokey, slow mournful tunes on the radio and poetry. He doesn't drink. He doesn't party. He doesn't carouse. He's the anti-Hapiloppian athlete, if that makes sense. But yet, he has been a crucial piece of Hapilopper's national team, a major reason why the team has made it to the World Cup a lot lately. His immediate backups are Manny Wakefield, a nice guy off the pitch but a real demon behind the net. Number three on the depth chart is Adam Haverty, the insanely lucky keeper for West Hampton Sports Club.

Haverty is known for saving sure goals in the stupidest and most idiotic of ways, including, last year in a match against FC Surrey, a save where, not thinking about it, he performed a pelvic thrust at the ball, not thinking there was any other way to save a sure goal. The ball made direct contact with his nuts. He went down in a heap, but no goal was scored. It led to the Hapilopper Football Association considering a rule stating that a player must not intentionally contact the ball with his nuts, on top of his hands and arms. The so-called "Nutball" regulation was voted down by HFA head Dom Probst, because it was just plain stupid.

DEFENSEMEN
## Player Age Position Team Kicks Personality
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
2 H. McCullough 28 Def. Back K. Warriors Left Asshole
3 Arnold March 27 D. Enforcer H.C. Soldiers Right Asshole
4 Scott Roundtree 24 Centerback Halsted Heat Right Intense
05 Rod Cutt 28 Def. Back Minortown SC Right Maj. Asshole

21 Daniel Bradford 24 Centerback FC Buckridge Ass (L) Redneck
22 Tim Stone 25 Def. Back United Hampton Right Calm
23 David Colt 26 Centerback W.H. Sports Club Left Antisocial
24 Peter Hardy 31 Def. Back H.C. Soldiers Right Goofball
25 Shan Bone 24 Def. Back K. Warriors Left Calm
26 Mack Beadle 30 Def. Back Halsted Heat Left Asshole
27 Darren Knowlton 29 Centerback H.C. Soldiers Right Creative
28 A.R. Prince 32 Centerback Surrey United Left Relaxed
29 Ted Shammes 19 Def. Back FC Buckridge Right Asshole

PLAYERS TO WATCH:
Not a lot of changes expected in the defense room. Ellis Football's defense room is full of assholes and other borderline personalities. As you were. McCullough, March, Roundtree and Cutt are expected to start - which is a miracle if you consider Cutt spent a couple weeks in jail in the aftermath of the Campionato Esportiva for beating the crap out of a reporter. Three of the four - McCullough, March and Cutt - are not among the nicest people in Hapiloppian sport, and have been typically looked at as the cause of bar fights in and around the Dominion. As you can tell, not much has changed on that end. Roundtree, meanwhile, is known for an incident two years ago where he ended up covered in blood after getting spiked in the face and laughed it off. Pictures of a smiling Roundtree, covered in blood, made newspapers all over Hapilopper.

Likely backups are that bumpkin fool Dan Bradford, Mack Beadle and Ted Shammes. None of these three are people you'd want your daughter to come home with. Bradford is an avid listener of outlaw country music, drives an old pickup truck and has started more than his share of fights at a honky tonk because some cowboy didn't like Bradford hooking up with his girl. Bradford doesn't lose fights, by the way. Beadle, meanwhile, is the kind of low-down, dirty bastard that doesn't mind rubbing a forward's face in the mud. He actually did that to FC Buckridge striker Frank Pinto after Pinto tripped and fell in the mud on a rainy day in Halsted last year. And Ted Shammes, meanwhile, tackled Beadle after that happened. Pinto had a face full of mud. Shammes and Beadle started trading punches. Both became friends after that. Hapiloppian football is weird, y'all.

MIDFIELDERS
## Player Age Position Team Kicks Personality
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
6 Tim Radomia 26 Def. Midfield Garvinson Trojans Left Stoner
7 Jamie Hause 23 Def. Midfield Lake Sprague FC Right Calm
8 Trevor Jericho 24 Off. Midfield Highway Patrol Right Clumsy
9 David Chaney 22 Off. Midfield F.C. Hap City Right Calm

31 Lee Victor 24 Hybrid Midfld West River FC Left Patient
32 Stan Batson 20 Def. Midfield FC Buckridge Left Redneck
33 Tony Novella 25 Off. Midfield Halsted Heat Right Professional
34 Milo Joyce 18 Hybrid Midfld C. Harris' School Right Intense
35 Jay Viland 23 Def. Midfield H.C. Soldiers Right Professional
36 Ron Markway 24 Off. Midfield Highway Patrol Right Relaxed
37 Orson Meyer 27 Hybrid Midfld Minortown SC Right Professional
38 Tim Leslie 23 Hybrid Midfld Garvinson Trojans Right Brooding
39 Wyatt Spencer 27 Hybrid Midfld H.C. Generals Left Asshole

PLAYERS TO WATCH:
Tim Radomia leads the midfielder's room. Radomia, still the biggest pothead in all of Hapiloppian sports, received an immense amount of criticism during the Campionato Esportiva for finding a way to burn one before matches. He argued it would help his concentration. The opposite happened. Radomia went from being a force in the midfield to a total liability, and led Thom Perkins to rip him a new one in front of the rest of the team. He will be joined by Jamie Hause, Trevor Jericho and David Chaney, new additions to the team. All three of them are those you'd be fine letting your daughter date.

Hause is an avid reader. He enjoys reading newspapers every day and also enjoys the fishing at Lake Sprague. During the offseason, you can find him in the mornings on his little fishing boat, trying to catch something to enjoy on the day. He's said to be very wise beyond his years and likely has a bright future with Team Hapilopper. Jericho, on the other hand, would be considered a great player if he didn't have two left feet. He's right-footed, by the way. Some have accused him of diving - a very serious charge in the Hapiloppian game. Players found guilty of diving are given straight red cards and automatic 10-match suspensions. David Chaney, meanwhile, is a quiet - yet scary - midfielder that can be a deceptive goal threat on the field, and a deceptive threat to steal your girlfriend off the field.

Likely backups are Milo Joyce, Ron Markway and Wyatt Spencer. Joyce does not have a club team yet, and is instead a recent graduate of Cooter Harris's School of Fine Football Learnin'. Harris views Joyce as his star graduate for this year, and gave a strong recommendation to Team Hapilopper to invite him for the World Cup 99 cycle. He impressed in practices, and his age and inexperience is the only thing keeping him from starting. Markway, meanwhile, is best known for his gentle presence in the Highway Patrol locker room. He lounges in his chair, reading a newspaper and sipping on a cup of hot tea prior to taking the field. He doesn't get anxious nor does he get too keyed up. This is a good thing: It helps relax his teammates. Spencer could use that kind of energy. He's a dirty player, seeking any kind of advantage - whether that involve surreptitiously diving, or if it involves sneakily cheap-shotting an opponent or doing anything to draw the referee's attention. Among his teammates, his nickname is "Captain Dickhead." We'll let you draw your opinions from that nickname.

FORWARDS
## Player Age Position Team Kicks Personality
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
10 Dennis Waterloo 23 Goalscorer U. Hampton Cities Left Professional
11 Stan McLamb 27 Goalscorer Garvinson Trojans Right Asshole

12 Nick Lawrence 32 Striker U. Hampton Cities Right Relaxed
13 Frank Mintzer 26 Goalscorer North Hampton FC Right Professional
14 Frank Pinto 21 Striker FC Buckridge Left Very Clumsy
15 Aaron Edelin 19 Striker Pinkerton City SC Right Redneck
16 Greg Hefti 28 Goalscorer Peoria FC Right Calm
17 Jamie Rupert 23 Striker Surrey United Left Drunk
18 Zack Gardener 25 Striker Surrey United Right Drunk

19 Alvin Saldana 28 Goalscorer Halsted Heat Right Asshole

PLAYERS TO WATCH:
Stan McLamb, the star goalscorer from Team Hapilopper's World Cup 97 and 98 efforts returns. McLamb, the egotistical dickhead of a goalscorer, can put goal after goal in the back of the net and put his team on the board with ease. And he knows it. And he wants you to know that he knows it. Stan is a player that lives and dies by the old slogan of "win the whole fucking thing" and feels the team is running out of time to do just that. He's the only striker remaining from the World Cup 98 squad, though. Dennis Waterloo, who scored 29 goals with United Hampton Cities last year, is the number 10 this year. Waterloo is much different from McLamb. While McLamb wants you to know how great he is, Waterloo is more concerned with actually being great. He's not the kind of person that's going to toot his own horn, he's going to spend his time getting the job done and eschewing the limelight. He doesn't get into trouble, he doesn't showboat, he just does his job and goes home.

Three players are expected to be the regular bench players. Jamie Rupert and Zack Gardener, the so-called "sloshed scorers" from Surrey, are two of those. Rupert and Gardener ranked third and fourth in the league in goals scored last year, but led the league in blood alcohol content. They also led the league in bars thrown out of and embarrassing social media photos taken. Fans all across Hapilopper have stories about how Rupert and Gardener enjoyed a wild evening after a match with them, and then just about got them in trouble. They aren't violent drunks, and you won't hear about bar fights, they just go to a bar, have the proverbial one beer, and next thing you know, that "one beer" has become "one case of beer and two bottles of 100-proof liquor." And eventually a quiet discussion became a rip-roaring debate on the physics of golf carts.

The third player, Frank C. Pinto, could be Hapilopper's next great goal-scorer. He could be a total superstar. He's got the looks for it, no less. He's got the talent for it. And maybe he'll grow into it. The problem, though, is that he might be the single clumsiest player in Hapiloppian football. Pinto has a tendency to get himself into trouble when nobody else is around or when no one could cause any sort of issue. Some joke he's accidentally tied his shoes together. Others compare him to a popular and fast, but wildly crashy, Hapiloppian ChampCar single-seater racer who broke the Hapiloppian record for most wrecks in a season last year. Thom Perkins wants to work with him to figure out this clumsiness, but until he does, a starting role is very unlikely.

THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF ESTORVIPA AND ESTORPIVA
NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM

The Federal Republic of Estorvipa and Estorpiva is a federal union between two states, the Federation of Estorvipa and the Republic of Estorpiva, created on 22 November 2019 after the two states agreed to unite together and present a combined front against the other rebel sides in the Estorian Civil War. The Federal Republic is backed by the Democratic People's Republic of the United Socialist States of Pridnestrovia (or just Pridnestrovia for short), which was an ally of the old Estorvipan People's Republic before it collapsed into numerous competing factions and states, and Pridnestrovia decided that the Federal Republic was the most stable nation-state that they could support in this war. But despite being backed by a "socialist" nation and adopting some socialist imagery, the Federal Republic is a democratic republic with free and fair elections for the 27 million people under its governance, and its ultimate aim is to reunite the Vipan and Pivan lands peacefully, but if the Federal Republic must use force to restore peace and order in the land then it will certainly do so.

BASIC INFORMATION
Name of nation: Federal Republic of Estorvipa and Estorpiva
Demonym: Estorian
Team colors: Yellow. blue, and red
Style modifier: -2.00
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Head coach: Foma Korniyenko (60 y/o, male, Pridnestrovia)

STARTERS
GK: Aleksandr SUSLOPAROV 25 y/o, male, SC Batgeyt-1 (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
He was perhaps the one bright spot in what has been a season to forget for Molodets. Everyone knows that the Pionersky academy side is never going to get promoted to the Federal Top League anytime soon, but they also didn't have to be the entire Second League's doormat every single time. He is an excellent goalkeeper despite the state of the defense in front of him, and there is a non-zero chance that he could be moving to another team sooner rather than later. This move would eventually materialize in a 30 million lei transfer to SC Batgeyt-1 as businessman (some would say oligarch) Denys Kucherenko seeks to keep his hometown club in the Federal Top League for a long time.

RB: Ruslana SAVELYEVA 30 y/o, female, FC Panticapaeum (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
She is without doubt a good defender, but it's almost as if she maxed out on defending in football and forgot to put points into developing other aspects of her game. Her passing leaves a lot to be desired, her technique is poor, and her pace may as well be nonexistent. In all honesty, she should be more of a center half than a full-back, but Estoria has a surprising dearth of right backs, and she was basically the best of the rest.

RCB: Svitlana KONDRATYUK 28 y/o, female, FK Chornyy Volodymyrivka (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
She has good pace and passing, but as far as actual defending goes, she is surprisingly weak at it. But given how right back has suddenly become one of Estoria's problem positions, she really is the best that they could come up with in terms of bench options. Pray for all Estorian right backs, and pray for the right side of the Estorian defense.

LCB: Lukas KUKUMBERG 32 y/o, male, Exiles FK (Pridnestrovia)
He's reached the prime of his career, just in time to finally become part of the Federal Republic's starting eleven. Lukas is already a very good defender by pretty much any metric one could think of and still improving, and it isn't just the actual defending that's setting him apart from his peers; he also has solid pace and technique with the ball. The man pretty much has everything. Well, not everything though. His passing is actually the weakest part of his game, and by weak, it really is weak. If it's possible for someone to limp-wrist kicking a football, Lukas would be the one to prove it possible. Now he has to figure out how not to do all of that now that he's a starter for the national team.

LB: Tatjana ARNAUTOVIC 28 y/o, female, FC Cavaleri Urodorasul (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
She is another refugee from the anarchist north who didn't like how the gangs were running the show as well as affecting the outcome of the league in more ways than one. It also didn't help that said gangs had threatened to break her legs if she didn't get herself sent off in a game, so she fled for the Federal Republic as soon as she could. It was a good thing that she got out of the north as quickly as she did as both the Federal Republic and Cavaleri Urodorasul would have lost out on a great player had she stayed to an uncertain fate in the north. She is a solid defender with good enough pace to recover her marker should they manage to get away from her the first time. Apart from that though, she is completely unremarkable and would blend in easily in a crowd. Probably how she managed to escape from the north in the first place, when you think about it.

RM: Arkady TEPLINSKY 29 y/o, male, FC Foc Feuerstadt (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
It's hard to tell where he is best suited to play on the pitch. Sometimes, he would be the only player trying to score goals for Foc Feuerstadt, and other times he would be more busy setting up the defense. He has been listed down as a midfielder as a compromise upon getting called up, but expect this confusion in his best to mean that he actually won't get played a lot over the course of this tournament.

LM: Grigoriy ZAYAKIN 29 y/o, male, SC Batgeyt-1 (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
Some would even go so far as to say that he was responsible for Batgeyt's domination in the new Federal Second League of Estoria. The local lad is the epitome of the defensive midfielder; the rock in the middle of the pitch through which everyone and everything must go through with no regard if it's for his team or against it. He can defend, he can run, he can tackle, he can ping a pass to practically any corner of the pitch. And to think that just two years ago, he was doing all of this for the love of the game and not getting paid a lot.

RW: Zhanna PAPIROVA 33 y/o, female, FK Mamai Ihorivtsi (Pridnestrovia)
She's a good playmaker over on the right wing, and a surprisingly good defender as well when the situation demands. However, she's not the fastest person on the pitch, and her passing leaves a lot to be desired as well, but the Federal Republic needs some wingers to fill in the gaps left behind by the Kunaplenko siblings retiring from international football. There were probably better options out there, but none that could be called up on such short notice. But she might be able to make a name for herself in this team regardless.

CAM: Baltazar KOLOMYJSKI 32 y/o, male, FK Traktor St. Paulsburg (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
It shouldn't really be that hard to nail down where Baltazar would fit in a football team. He has a formidable right foot on him that has led him to scoring some incredible goals from pretty much any conceivable range, yet somehow he couldn't use that same right foot for anything more than some basic passing and crossing if it came to that. So why in the world is he listed as a midfielder and not a forward? Call it a quirk in the new manager's methodology. Or call it the fact that Baltazar did all of that in an attacking midfield position.

LW: Vyacheslav TSYGANOV 26 y/o, male, CSKA Tiraspol (Pridnestrovia)
He was tearing it up in Pridnestrovia's youth football leagues as one of the best strikers that CSKA had produced, so much so that it was only a matter of time before eyes turned to him with an eye of recruiting him towards representing one country or another. As with a lot of other Estorians, Vyacheslav Tsyganov's family fled their old motherland due to the civil war, and Vyacheslav could have represented Pridnestrovia if he wanted due to because he had already lived there since he was two years old, but the call of Estoria was strong in his heart and he chose to put on the yellow shirt instead of the red-and-green one.

ST: Bohdan TATULYAN 28 y/o, male, FK Mamai Ihorivtsi (Estorpiva and Estorpiva)
He is the definition of keeping one's head down and letting the results come to him. He was nothing special when he first broke through Mamai's system, but within a couple of years he had finally managed to cement his place in the first team of the inaugural Federal Top League champions. Silverware still eludes him for now, but for a striker with 65 goals in 5 seasons of first team football, surely it only has to be a matter of time before he finally gets his hands on at least one trophy.

RESERVES
GK: Viktor IVANOV 32 y/o, male, Bierburger SV (Pridnestrovia)
Known both for his dedication to his chosen profession and for being a model professional. He knows that he probably won't get a lot of game time being the third-choice goalkeeper but given his potential, it's probably only a matter of time before he becomes the primary custodian for the Federal Republic. Now elevated to the backup goalkeeper position, and could still make the number 1 shirt his in a couple of years.

GK: Gleb PAROV 38 y/o, male, FK Traktor St. Paulsburg (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
An excellent keeper for his age and has loads of pace which allows him to charge out of his box to intimidate opposing strikers, but has poor stamina which means that he might start sticking around his area as the game goes on. As he has grown older, his stamina has also gotten lower, and for the qualifiers of the 99th World Cup, he has agreed to serve as a mentor to the new number 1 man for the Federal Republic Aleksandr Susloparov

DF: Branislau SIDAROVICH 34 y/o, male, Thereisnogodistan (Abanhfleft)
He's a good defender with excellent passing, and that's about as far as his positives go. He's a capable member of a four-man back line, that much is guaranteed. But that back line must be low and as static as possible because he's a literal boulder in the middle of the pitch otherwise. That probably explains why his club fell away from the international club football places in the second half of the season, when injuries mounted up and he had to become part of the starting eleven.

DF: Pylyp BRAHINSKYY 21 y/o, male, SC Batgeyt-1 (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
He is Batgeyt born and bred, and while SC Batgeyt-1 currently has his services, don't expect him to stick around with that team for very long, even if Denys Kucherenko might be incentivized to keep him around for a long time. Talent like him is very much sought after in all corners of multiversal football, and at his age and with his skillset, he is going to be in demand anywhere and everywhere. It's not hard to see why; not only is he a very good defender but he also has solid passing range. The only thing going against him is his tragic pace, but as long as he doesn't have to venture far away from the back line, he should be fine.

DF: Roman POKLONSKY 23 y/o, male, FK Gepgorod (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
He is an excellent defender with solid passing range, which seems to suggest the direction in which Foma Korniyenko wants to take when it comes to his tactical vision. However, that is as far as the positives go for this player, which would probably explain why he is still playing for Gepgorod despite the fact that ball-playing defenders have become very much in vogue over the past few seasons in a lot of football leagues. Perhaps it's actually a good thing that he's managed to fly under the radar for this long; Gepgorod needs all the help that they can get now that they might be bouncing in between Estoria's Top League and the Second League.

DF: Slobodan KLADAR 33 y/o, male, FK Traktor St. Paulsburg (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
He is the Kladar that everyone associated with the Football Federation of the Federal Republic of Estorvipa and Estorpiva (FFREE) wanted to field in time for CAFA 9. Unfortunately, Slobodan suffered an injury that, while minor, would have ruled him out of taking part in the regional football competition anyway, resulting in the controversial callup of his older sister Bogdana. Now though, Slobodan is fully fit and rested and raring to go and represent the Federal Republic in a CAFA competition. As for how good of a defender he is, take Bogdana Kladar's skills and multiply it twice. That is how good Slobodan Kladar is.

MF: Kresimir TASIĆ 33 y/o, male, FC Cavaleri Urodorasul (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
Here's a good playmaker with good passing and adequate technique. What more can someone ask of Kresimir Tasic? Some maturity and levelheadedness, it turns out. All of those aforementioned skills mean squat when he can't keep his head on his shoulders when the situation requires it. If Kresimir is angry and wants to take out an opposition player's legs, nothing will stop him, not even the knowledge of an impending red card. But in the rare times that he's actually calm, Kresimir is actually an impressive asset on the pitch. It just seems like he spends more time off it than on because of suspensions and such.

MF: Goran PUŠONJIC 22 y/o, male, FK Estorija Kladushnitsa (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
He's a better defender than he is a midfielder, so good thing there's such a thing as a defensive midfielder. His pace is adequate, meaning that even if he does get beaten by his man, he has enough speed to recover and perhaps even stop the threat from developing any further than that. And if he gets to the ball before the opponent does, expect him to hoof it into the sidelines more times than not. Just don't ask him to do any tricks; he might break both his legs in the attempt.

MF: Boško BOROJEVIĆ 30 y/o, male, FK Spartak Rybolovlev (Estorpiva and Estorpiva)
He is a jack of all trades; practitioner of all but master of none. It probably stems from the fact that he played every conceivable position (yes, even goalkeeper) in order to find his place in what has been a stacked Spartak roster before finally nailing down the defensive midfielder position. He might not be the kind of player that wins games, but his presence on the pitch could still mean the difference between defeat and a draw, or a draw and a win.

FW: Zakhar AVVAKUMOV 24 y/o, male, Dnistro Dnistropavlovsk (Pridnestrovia)
To be called a "weak" striker at 24 years old is sometimes an indictment on a person's training or their natural football prowess. In his case, it's actually both. The fact that he has managed to earn a roster spot over other more skilled and more deserving players is yet another indictment of the corruption running rampant in the halls of the Federal Republic. Or maybe it's the fact that he plays in Pridnestrovia that's earned him a spot on the final roster. It's not even one of the best teams in Pridnestrovia that he plays for but a team that has bounced between mid-table mediocrity and relegation fodder. But while he may be a "weak" striker overall, he has enough stamina to keep going the whole 90 minutes or even more. That's the one positive to his otherwise overwhelmingly negative game.

FW: Oleh LOBANOVSKY 32 y/o, male, All-Inclusive Haranguer (Abanhfleft)
A somewhat versatile player who can play both in the middle or the left side of an attacking three formation. His pace and passing stats are about as average as one can get, but he also has a surprisingly clinical finish. If anything, he can annoy the opposition's defensive line as much as he can for as long as he can. If he does it coming off the bench, it leaves room for the Federal Republic to score some late goals, and if he does it as a starter, he leaves the defense vulnerable for the substitutes to take on.

FW: Tony PASCALIN 32 y/o, male, FC Cavaleri Urodorasul (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
If it weren't for the victory of the Federal Republic over the rest of the warring states in the Estorian Civil War, Anaia might never have been able to lay their eyes on this lad. Tony is an excellent striker with very good ball handling technique, but because he is an ethnic Pivan and the former State of Estorpiva didn't have the funds or the will to assemble their own national football team in the few years that it was in existence, he never would have been able to play against another country. All that said, he may be very good at putting the ball in the back of the net and even dancing his way out of trouble but he also can't run to save his own life.

Home-Away-Third

This set of kits remains since World Cup 97, and why wouldn’t they, with such iconic status now. Like practically all Flavovespian kits, the front has a black “double V”, stretching to the sleeves, on a yellow background. The shorts and socks are both black with yellow trim, a staple of Flavovespian kits. The away kit reverses the black and yellow, also creating an interchangeable kit set, and the third kit is in the purple, white and turquoise colours of Anaia.

Squad

Manager

Manager – Victor Adeyemo Age: 53 [FVA]

The man who guided Flavovespia to World Cup 98, and CAFA Cup 11, there’s no doubting Victor Adeyemo is a living legend of Flavovespian football. A bit of a surprise replacement for Augusto Rinaldi, he’s now guided Flavovespia to the very top. An eccentric, larger than life character, he’s always an animated figure in the dugout and when speaking to the press. His tactical awareness and game management in international level have become second to none it seems, always able to just get the tactics and substitutions right to grind out a result, and has 2 international trophies as a manger to his name now.

Goalkeepers

1 Peter Marriott Age: 24 Position: GK Club: Bavingtor FC Caps: 37 Goals: 0
12 John Hopkins Age: 28 Position: GK Club: Waldster FC Caps: 0 Goals: 0
23 Darren Flight Age: 31 Position: GK Club: Binclestead Wood FC Caps: 0 Goals: 0

The age and for of Nathan Crewe and Garry Bowles means two uncapped goalkeepers for Flavovespia. However the #1 shirt remains with Peter Marriott. At 24, he already plays like a goalkeeper with a wealth of experience, and is such a confident shot stopper, not letting mistakes get to him. John Hopkins is second choice, another capable shot stopper, if not quite on the level as Nathan Crewe, but also great at playing out from the back or passing long. Darren Flight has had a bit of a streaky career, but finished last season in great form. He’s 3rd choice, but at 31 there’s a slight sense he’s a bit of cover for a younger goalkeeper to come in at some point in the future.

Defenders

2 Stan Scott-Wilson Age: 29 Position: LB Club: Urrheddiao [CMT] Caps: 146 Goals: 1
3 Roger Burden Age: 27 Position: RB Club: Marthorpe City FC Caps: 62 Goals: 0
4 Paul Amos Age: 31 Position: CB Club: Chromatik [CMT] Caps: 57 Goals: 1
5 Paul Taylor Age: 34 Position: CB Club: Casuals Osteria [KRY] Caps: 208 Goals: 4
13 Richard Storrie Age: 26 Position: LB Club: Bavingtor FC Caps: 35 Goals: 0
14 John Brocklehurst Age: 26 Position: CB Club: Waldster FC Caps: 0 Goals: 0
15 David Jarvis Age: 26 Position: CB Club: Sporting Club November City [CAD] Caps: 18 Goals: 0
16 Kevin Holland Age: 22 Position: RWB Club: Binclestead Wood FC Caps: 11 Goals: 0

No surprise to see 8 defenders selected again, and just the one change from the CAFA Cup 11 squad. Nazir Hussain looks set to have finished his time in the national team, never quite the go-to man, but always a great option on the bench. In comes John Brocklehurst, a steely centre back who’s been a key part of the revival of Waldster’s fortunes. It’s a lot of familiar faces elsewhere. Stan Scott-Wilson is a tall, quick full back able to play on both sides, a real asset for Flavovespia. Roger Burden on the other side has a real knack of timing his movement well to cut off wingers. Back up full backs include Richard Storrie, a good all around choice on the left, and Kevin Holland, technically a bit raw but has ample pace and ability to progress the ball. The two Pauls, Paul Amos and Paul Taylor are the key centre back pairing. Taylor is a strong, imposing figure, and very much willing to get stuck in. Amos is a bit smaller, but has great pace and positioning. As well as Brocklehurst, David Jarvis is in the squad, a relatively small centre back, but still fierce in the challenge and quite nifty on the ball.

Midfielders

6 Anthony Lane Age: 30 Position: LAM Club: FC Capri [VAL] Caps: 75 Goals: 13
7 Christopher Hill Age: 27 Position: CM Club: Alnio [CMT] Caps: 108 Goals: 8
8 Charles Adams Age: 30 Position: CDM Club: Maethoru SC [KOR] Caps: 133 Goals: 8
11 Jonathan Bagshaw Age: 33 Position: RAM Club: Marthorpe City FC Caps: 279 Goals: 153
17 John Fletcher Age: 24 Position: CDM Club: Chromatik [CMT] Caps: 31 Goals: 1
18 Michael Waller Age: 28 Position: CDM Club: Marthorpe City FC Caps: 8 Goals: 0
19 Matthew Fowler Age: 29 Position: RM Club: Bavingtor FC Caps: 10 Goals: 0
20 David Atkinson Age: 27 Position: RM Club: Marthorpe City FC Caps: 5 Goals: 2
21 Russell Robinson Age: 29 Position: CM Club: Langmere Green Rovers FC Caps: 48 Goals: 2

9 midfielders are in, due to the favoured 4-2-3-1 formation. Of course the biggest name of them all is Jonathan Bagshaw. Scorer of the World Cup 98 Final winning goal, there’s few who’d doubt his status as the GOAT of Flavovespia. However at 33, even he’d acknowledge that time is of the essence, and could he be rotated a bit? On the ball, simply sublime, able to move, pass and shoot as good as anyone in this squad. Anthony Lane is likely to start on the left, his pace opens up goalscoring opportunities, and his 3 goals at the end of the CAFA Cup 11 in the final group stage got the trophy for Flavovespia. In central defensive midfield, Charles Adams and Christopher Hill are the expected combination. Charles Adams is real box-to-box midfielder, always seeking the ball and looking to progress play, even if he can lunge into challenges from time to time. Christopher Hill is probably the best passer in the team across all ranges, give him time and he’ll pick the right pass. There’s good depth at that position too, with John Fletcher and Michael Waller both very capably backups. Russell Robinson is a strong midfielder with good passing abilities, he can play central defensive or central attacking midfield. Matthew Fowler returns, more selected for his assists than goalscoring record at a domestic level. David Atkinson can play both wings, and proved to be quite a useful asset in the CAFA Cup 11.

Forwards

9 Charles Shepherd Age: 25 Position: CF Club: Xaiv 1919 [SAT] Caps: 68 Goals: 35
10 Peter Langdon Age: 26 Position: CF Club: Mipojoseon [QUE] Caps: 76 Goals: 24
22 Frank Johnson Age: 23 Position: CF Club: Bavingtor FC Caps: 3 Goals: 1

3 strikers in the squad, with one selected as a potential central attacking midfielder. Charles Shepherd has been key these past few tournaments, and his age of just 25 still surprises some. Able to hold up the play, he’s vital in bringing other teammates into the attack, but can score himself. Peter Langdon is extremely quick, and if given any space by the defence, can get in behind to create a great chance to score. Frank Johnson is similar to Charles Shepherd, but still needs to get to speed with the international game a little more.

Tactics

4-2-3-1 is the standard formation of choice. The defence remains relatively flat, although the full backs will push up if a goal is needed late on. The central defensive midfielders split between a ball winner, who aims to make the tackles and turn over possession, and a regista style playmaker, who can pass short or long. All 3 of the attacking midfielders will look to get in the box, but failing that can drift to try and create a chance. The lone striker has a bit of a “false nine” role, needing a willingness to drop a bit deep to allow others to come in to join if he’s outnumbered. 4-3-3 or 4-4-2 are alternatives, it’s rare now for Flavovespia to drop the back 4.

SQUADRA NAZIONALE DI JUVENCUS

Image

Information about Juvencus:
Capital: Pomena
Population: Numbers may vary but close to 135 million Juven natives inhabit Juvencus, with a total population reaching 160 million
Demonym: Juven(Juvencano, Juvencan, JuvenCUNT and others have been incorrectly used)
Country Code: JUE
Football Association: JFA(Juven Football Association)
Nicknames: Gli attaccanti(The attackers), La squadra(The team)
Football philosophy: At this point, to play football in Juvencus you need to understand that no matter who you are, pushing forward is the MOST essential core value you can bring in your game. Both strikers and defenders alike are equally likely to strike from any range at any time. Defense is not neglected, but is not as valued as being a scary goalscorer up front.
Official Record(WCC-Sanctioned only): 485 Games played(257 W - 113 D - 115 L)

La Squadra:

*BOLD & UNDERLINED INDICATES STARTER - Regional Identity/Ethnicity Indicated After Team

Goalkeepers:

This is a spot traditionally given to the players with the fastest reaction times and the grit to withstand the pressure of being the goalkeeper in a team that cares way more to attack than to defend. Despite the shit they receive in comparison to the rest of the team, those are true inspirations on the pitch and are always treated as such by players and other managers alike.

GK:Juan Carlos Ungaro (Age 31) (U.S Scudelli) - Sudjuven

GK:Sócrates Wright (Age 29) (AC Pomena) - Pomenienze
GK:Bardhyl Imeri (Age 26) (Cordoba FC) - Illireshtje
GK:Paula Rojas (Age 23) (AS Aguajú) - Sudjuven

This golden generation of Juven goalkeepers is one Gaetan will have a hard time replacing. The most important net positive from every single one is their flexibility to adapt in difficult situations from the most experienced to the least experienced of the goalkeepers. Juan Carlos Ungaro has cold blood, probably the nation's best penalty specialist, Wright is a goalkeeper known for his ability to keep a clean sheet in tumultuous situations. Imeri has quite possibly the most unmatched leaps in the multiverse or at least he is up there and last but not least, Paula Rojas is not afraid to take on players twice her own while being in impeccable positioning. Not much talent can even come close to competing with such a lineup of goalkeepers and the nation is both blessed and cursed to have those all at once, luckily, most of these goalkeepers are getting their time under the sun in near-equal numbers and the future seems secure.

Defenders:

The defender's position is always kept for players who are speedy, positionally adept and physically strong for their size and usually either have excellent leadership skills, game intelligence or a hot-headedness and most of a time a combination of the three. It is a position that also lacks the respect it deserves in Juven society, but it is one that is necessary in order to make it easier for the goalkeeper and the team as a whole.

CB:Carlo Callejon (Age 33) (Club de PruxxéImage) - Sudjuven/Pomenienze (Captain)
CB:Urbà Pujals (Age 23) (Port Rhovanyon AFCImage) - Santmat
CB:Caicedo Marroqui (Age 22) (Cordoba FC) - Sudjuven/Qurijan

CB:Carlos Coste (Age 30) (Couno RangersImage) - Sudjuven/Pomenienze
CB:Giorgio Stafilidi (Age 28) (FC Piluzzi) - Pomenienze/Ampelone
CB:Ignacio Lopes (Age 26) (U.S Scudelli) - Poi/Sudjuven
CB:Pau Puig (Age 31) (AS Aguajú) - Santmat
CB:Lucia Agnelli (Age 30) (Club de PruxxéImage) - Pomenienze
CB:Maya Nogueira (Age 26) (AC Serone) - Poi/Sudjuven

No changes in names here, as with any of the positions in the team, as the current status of the players involves the right mix of young and and old. Caicedo Marroqui has taken the spot of Coste in the backbone of the team, largely thanks to his pivotal performances and clutch clearances and goals in important matches all throught the last cycle of football. The core of the defensive lineup being the same shows that Gaetan is still seeking to play mostly traditional(for Juven standards) defenders, focusing on youthful sprinters, positionally adept players who are somewhat physically strong, a jack of all trades, as the position is known for.

Carlo Callejon is known as the glue that keeps it all together, at 33 now he has approached an age where his abilities will start to wane. However his leadership on the pitch and experience have been important assets which the team will have to rely on for the foreseeable future. Besides that, many players are known to take aspects of his playstyle and incorporating it on their own, especially when it comes to tackles and intercepting the ball.

Pujals already has a rich history of playing in strong foreign leagues, currently plying his craft in Tikariot with Port Rhovanyon AFC. An unusually good Santmat defender, as their population is keen on producing mostly talented attackers. Accurate crosses and clearances are part of his expression on the field, atop the aforementioned Juven defender archetype to make one of the most complete defenders in this generation.

Midfielders:

A midfielder is always a maestro on the pitch and depending on which side of the midfield they are in, their characteristics change. There's no pure centrocampista in Juvencus, instead players play as offensive-minded CDM's in the middle of the field. Those players usually have vision, exceptional passing or crossing and usually dictate the speed of the attack, the most necessary element of this team's tactics. They also fall back to form a bus when deemed absolutely necessary. In the sides, you have wide midfielders who act as supplementary wingers, players with speed who can provide to the wingers or the forwards when necessary. As such, you get to see fast players with great inward crossing and forward passing.

CDM:Giuseppe Conte (Age 32) (U.S Scudelli) - Pomenienze
CDM:Sara Ponce (Age 27) (AC Serone) - Pomenienze
RM:Simon Oliveira (Age 31) (Sivolvia CapitalistImage) - Poi
LM:Joao Peres (Age 25) (CF OutineauImage) - Poi

CDM:Félix Sissoko (Age 31) (Jolbonopolis UnitedImage) - Scudellois
CDM:Raul Viejo (Age 23) (AC Pomena) - Sudjuven
CDM:Pierre-Didier Kouyaté (Age 34) (U.S Scudelli) - Scudellois/Banijan
CDM:Vitale Cino (Age 33) (Al Qurija FC) - Pomenienze

RM:Gustavo Alfonso (Age 24) (S.S.C Tipoli) - Sudjuven
RM:Paola Cernoia (Age 28) (Cordoba FC) - Pomenienze
RM:Mehmet Kurtuluş (Age 27) (Petro Mohammed FC) - Sudjuven
RM:Silvia Lopez (Age 25) (Herona Calcio) - Sudjuven

LM:Chimo Quaranta (Age 32) (AC Pomena) - Pomenienze
LM:Fantasia Bergoglio-Bertolini (Age 29) (Herona Calcio) - Pomenienze/Sudjuven
LM:Aboubakar Sidibe (Age 25) (U.S Scudelli) - Sudjuven
LM:Carla Acquati (Age 30) (FC Piluzzi) - Pomenienze

No changes to such a lineup here either. A midfield with talent in every single position is hard to determine consistently at all times. However, Joao Peres' talent with the ball on his feet, the openings he finds and his extremely good passing and crossing ability have earnt him a spot in the starting 11. With a mix of old and young, this midfield is destined to do wonders, with Sara Ponce being the midfield's finest addition, as she has been the carry for her team in AC Serone as well as an important tactician within the game for the team. Besides that, she is clinical in front of the net and is a great supplementary scorer. Last season also saw a revitalised Vitale Cino and while he is not in the starting line up he is a dangerous player that should be looked after, as he deserves his roses.

Attackers:

A position held with the utmost respect as it has the most prestige in Juven football. The task to be picked for it is simple, you should know both how to score and how to supply goals. It is a position that has the most competition, as most talented Juven players are up in front and are very known across the multiverse for their prowess in front of the goal. As such, it is a position with a lot of pressure to be in, much like the goalkeeper. Wingers are fast, brilliant technicians who are excellent suppliers and have a confusingly good shooting technique. Strikers on the other, they have a strong finishing touch akin to an unstoppable force on a consistent level.

CF:Sergio Caxinha (Age 23) (AC Pomena) - Poi
CF:Faustino Audiol (Age 25) (AC Serone) - Pomenienze/Santmat

Audiol-Bevilacqua-Soares, a trio that would strike fear in every single defensive composition. The ABS have been clear for quite sometime as the nation's starting trio, however this cycle it has come to Gaetan's attention that Soares' aging could be hindering an otherwise quick attack. Pau Vives has always been a flexible talent, able to pair up with other attacking players no matter the setup and has as such been considered as the main replacement for U.S Scudelli's aging goalscorer.

Ceferino Audiol in particular despite hitting 30 is still at the peak of his abilities, an incredible finisher has had quite the career at Serrapince and last cycle he was pivotal in the team's Independents Cup victory. Clinical, able to use both feed and an aerial beast, this is a player who has etched his name for the generations to come not just in Juven but multiversal football as well. Following him are a generation of incredible strikers, especially Piluzzi's EXPLOSIVE duo of Teixeira and Jorba, who have been competing with each other whilst elevating la nuovoviola in new levels.

Wingers have always been important for the build up of attacks as well as their finishes. A position that has always had masterful players ahead of the curve, as witnessed by Bevilacqua currently but also players like Vives, Gasol, Luizinho who have been perfect combinators, playmakers, supplementary or even main scorers. The addition of Fortuno Ajello, son of Cesare Ajello, one of the first batch of players to represent the nation internationally and quite a talent himself, has given the wing an extra depth of talent that is probably too much to bear for most coaches, but not Gaetan.

Main formation:

Image
Starting lineup sheet, URGING YOU to take a look at the post and participate should you RP before me. Remember, the lower your team's rank, the bigger the rotation unless your country's a rival of mine. Ignoring this means I will ignore your choice of players or scorers, despite giving you permission to choose for me, remember that.

Gael Gaetan's version of the Pomenienze involves an equality in importance for attacks from both the center of the field as well as the sides. This means players are enticed to test out their luck more often than not and it promotes cooperation between players familiarised with each other. This has worked wonders for U.S Scudelli, who have gone on deep international club runs as well as having the highest scoring output in the Campionato.

The formation is the typical 3-4-3 marriage ring formation. 3 center backs form the core of the backline, while the two center center backs closer to the sides can have a sort of free role to move to the side to defend but also move up to the midfield to orchistrate any attacks. To join them are 2 of the central defensive midfielders, who tend to hold back when it comes to defence and start position but move up usually with through-balls and crosses to the attackers or wingers. The side midfielders act as secondary wingers, meaning they have the exact same role at a slower intensity, with crosses to the main strikers or long-shots being their strong suit, they are usually the fastest players in the team. The difference between them and the wingers is that wingers play more forward because they usually possess better technicality with the ball on their feet, meaning they are swift dribblers and are a bit more clinical in front of the net, other than that, they help the striker in the first line of offense and defence of the high-line. Lastly, the striker is the main scorer, usually being fed with crosses and through-balls by the rest of the team, usually with a strong shooting ability and headers being their main source of scoring. This doesn't mean wingers or side midfielders do not get a fair share of their slice, however.

When it comes to penalties, the player who earns it takes it. When it comes to long-range free kicks, a midfielder will take it, while short-range free kicks are to be kicked by any of the wingers.

Stadiums:

Il Nuovo Stadio Olimpico della Pomena, Pomena(Capacity: 137,000)

Image

The Nuovo Stadio Olimpico in Pomena is a state of the art and gargantuan stadium, it hosts the games of the national team as well as the Copa Juve final. It has all sorts of amenities in and out of it from shops, to vendors, lounges as well as everything else one can put on their mind. It also used to serve as the home of AC Pomena prior to its move to Stadio Gianluca IV stadium.

The stadium of the capital has a different vibe from the previous Vinceti Catedral, all this colorful vibrance suddenly turns into an intimidating atmosphere which accurately represents the deep history of the nation. The chants feel a lot like a call to arms, ready to strengthen the Juven players while drums rhythmically beat through the entirety of the game. If a goal is scored, the loudest screams are to be heard throught the entire city, every celebration starting from this place is an emotional, triumphant celebration, echoing through the nation. After hosting the 3rd place playoff of the Independent Associations Cup 16, it is a safe stadium to visit and the people in it will try to carry on the legacy.

Located on the legendary Taranta Quartier of Pomena, it is in a central position not too far away from the city center and it is easily accessible by any means necessary, such as by train(being near the Taranta, Antelope and Vittoria stations), by bus, or by car.

Stadio Gianluca IV, Pomena(Capacity: 85,000)

Image

Stadio Gianluca IV is the newest major stadium to be built in the nation funded directly by the Holy Emperor himself. It is a state-of-the-art facility with all the newest multiversal stadium technologies in use, such as airconditioning and artificial grass that feels like its real equivalent among others. Stadio Gianluca IV has been the home of AC Pomena for the past couple seasons and it has already created an impression as an impressive and daunting place to step into, let alone play. Expect the players and fanbase to have more of a grit in this stadium as it is building itself up to be a cathedral of dreams.

It is located in the Casa Reale Quartier of Pomena, a very central position right on the richest part of the city and it is very easily accsible by both car, train or bus. By train an individual would have to get out at either the Casa Reale station or the Castelnuovo station.

Il Scudelliano, Scudelli(Capacity: 55,000)

Image

U.S Scudelli's ground, Il Scudelliano is the city's marvel. It is a square structure where the seats are literally next to the pitch, allowing for pitch invasions to happen at any time. Thankfully security personnel keep a tight look and as such they do not happen often. On the other hand, it also positively enhances the performances of the players by receiving positive chants from the fans this close to them while simultaneously making the pitch tremble as if there is an earthquake happening.

Located at the Toluja Ward of Scudelli, it is very easily accessible by all means such as cars, train, bus or whatever else. By train an individual would have to disembark at the Toluja, Scudelliano or Pax Pomen stations.

Stadio Electrico, Aguajú(Capacity: 34,000)

Image

A stadium built and supported in majority by funds of its supporters, who own a large share of their favorite club, AS Aguajú. It has a sky blue roof(that is also color-changing) and an odd square shape. It has a reputation for being a stadium with an electric atmosphere, almost as if one is being inside a thunderstorm. The locals of Aguajú are known for their impulsivity and striking behavior when supporting their favorite sports teams, with gli attaccanti being no exception.

Located at the 29 Novembre Municipality, it is accessible by car, train or bus. By train it is reached by stopping at the 29 Novembre and Diletta Guietti stations.

Stade Colonial, Pomena(Capacity: 19,000)

Image

Stade Colonial is perhaps owned by the most misleading club in all of Juvencus, Union Pomena. Located in the most staunchly Panjuvenist and colonialist quartiere di Fonseca in Pomena with a wonderful view of the Princess Daniella IV hill and is specifically designed in the way portals are meant to be designed around Juvencus. As a stadium it has a peculiar atmosphere, one may initially feel they are entering an elegant stadium in a royal area before the chants start becoming more and more aggressive and daunting. Expect flares and smoke.

It is accessible by car, bus and tram line the tram line 7 that traverses the entire coastline. Stops at Ernesto Munoa Square Station(which also serves a metro station) and Cuccitini Station are also viable options.

My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:
Choose my goalscorers: Yes but please, for the love of god, if your team is low-ranking, new or whatever try NOT using most of my starting lineup players and instead using my depth, unless it's a knockout game. Even if your team is high-ranking, still try to use a couple of my substitutes thanks. AKA what I am saying here is, be reasonable and realistic.

LA OSCE NAZIONALE

Image

Information about Oscioru:
Capital: Poma
Population: 46,071,280 ethnic Osci, with a total of 49,258,552 including naturalised immigrants.
Demonym: Osci/Osce to be used interchangeably
Country Code: OFA
Football Association: OFA(Osci Football Association)
Nicknames: La nazionale(the national)
Football philosophy: Osci football has a balanced approach, staunch defense followed by a striking counter-attack, taking advantadge of the frame of the Osci players which allows them to run at high speeds. If control is gained from early on, focus is instead given on barraging the opposing team until goals start to slip in. Lately, focusing on more aggressive football, observed in the Campionato is the way to go and it has bled through the ranks of the Osci team.

Roster comments: Despite missing out of group stage qualification on Independents Cup 19 by a thread, Roberto De Casio's leadership showed that even a broken roster is enough to give Oscioru a fighting chance in any circumstances. Despite interest in football raising in the nation, 4 cycles passed since before Oscioru could actually get a new squad rolling for the World Cup qualification stages. Roberto De Casio, with a freedom his older brother did not possess has decided to risk it and only keep the 2 highly-talented and experienced players in Bosch and Côté, the latter of which rejected proposals of representing Juvencus on the big stage in favor of his native Oscioru. With the majority of the players experienced in high-calibre offensive football in the -now unified- Campionato, De Casio is pressuring his players to follow his own version of highly aggressive football, the De Casio Speziale.

Stadiums:

As Oscioru will be reintroducing itself to the world, a few stadiums have been chosen to give a good climpse of the country's history and football stadiums altogether.

El Monasterio, Poma(Capacity: 80,000)
Image

Union Juven and Union Osce's home ground, located in the capital Poma, it is the largest stadium in the entire nation by far. It is a marvel of modern engineering, as it has been refurbished and redone 3 times at this point. Osci fans will make sure to show their singing prowess to support la nazionale and El Monasterio is no ground to be messed with.

La Frontiera, Canzaria(Capacity: 35,000)
Image

Located in Canzaria on the country's frontier, the stadium has been rightfully named as such. Due to the city's distance from the rest of Oscioru, the fans there have retained archaic Juven elements in their behavior like hot-bloodedness and passionate chants unlike the rest in Oscioru. Those, alongside the frontier attitude and hardness of the people make La Frontiera a special stadium to visit.

Stadio Infernale, Bresca(Capacity: 31,000)
Image

Stadio Infernale, a boiling stadium in the heart of Bresca, considered the blood and soul of Osci nationalism and home of Universidad de Dronghi is an impenetrable stadium. Brescan fans are known to bring drums and light up flares in games like no other. While the fans are generally not as violent as their actions might suggest, the stadium itself is a landmine as the intimidating support of the fans will make any team reconsider stepping foot inside this stadium.

My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:
Choose my goalscorers: Yes, make sure you do a realistic rotation though, please do NOT stick to my listed starting 11, that's just peak strength on full fitness starting team.

Manager: Ingþór Auðbjörnsson, age 56
Assistant: Jürgen Eisenhower, age 54

Goalkeepers
GK: Maja Topić, age 33, Brantisvogan Image (F)
GK: Rudolf Klarić, age 33, Hellinic Rouge
GK: Jaromír Janoušek, age 33, Stein-los Turkish
GK: Kardos Szûcs, age 29, Club Stein-los
GK: Óskar Aronsson, age 22, Algolia AC Image

Thor has brought in accountability to the team and that takes the shape in taking players who are in form rather than just being a big name playing at a big club. That leaves Maja Topić surprisingly grabbing the number one shirt, though it is not without merit as her reflexes helped take Brantisvogan up to the top of the table and conceding less than a goal a game on average. She's developed into a real special talent, now it is her time to prove that she can do it with the national team as well as she does it at the club level. Behind her are a trio of keepers who have all played decently well in the last few seasons in the SuperLiga but they are not seen as the future of the national team program. That will be Óskar Aronsson, the twenty-two year old made big news during the last transfer window from the Reds to Algolia AC, joining national team Bogdan Laszlo there, and being given the number one shirt. There is a lot of speculation that the young keeper has all the tools needed to be an elite player and going to one of the best clubs in one of the best leagues should help hasten his development. Should the Wanderers secure qualification early, he might be given a game or two to showcase his talents.

Defenders
LB: Slava Jakšić, age 33, Megabrantid Image (F)
L/CB: Franciska Szathmári, age 33, Hellinic Rouge (F)
LB: Kati Máté, age 34, CA Paulinthal (F)
CB: Zétény Szatmári, age 29, Burnaby SC Image
R/CB: Kornél Borsos, age 29, Stein-los Turkish
CB: Bertuska Balázs, age 29, CA Paulinthal (F)
CB: Kamil Schneider, age 27, Duke of the North
CB: Ramih Juwain Nazari, age 27, Stein-los Turkish
CB: Thorsten Hertzog, age 25, TSV Marzig Image
CB/MC: Rabi Wafiq Koury, age 25, Club Stein-los
RB: Remi van Blijderveen, age 33, Duke of the North (F)
RB: Mislav Ivančić, age 33, Hellinic Rouge
RB: Katie Sherwin Image, age 25, Tanrısal (F)

It's a bit of a strange collection in the defense as the fullbacks are on the older side but there is nearly nothing behind the like of Remi van Blijderveen, Mislav Ivančić, and Slava Jakšić. The fact that thirty-four year old Kati Máté is in the pool is a statement of just where the depth, or lack thereof, is with the fullbacks, though the central of the defense is a bit more promising with players like Koury and Hertzog who are both coming into their own. However the starters in the middle are going to be Zétény Szatmári, who has been thriving in Kelssek and a stalwart of one of the best defenses in that league, and Kornél Borsos who is by far the best defender in the SuperLiga currently. Bertuska Balázs and Kamil Schneider offer solid depth off the bench and could easily start if either of the starters is injured or in bad form at any point during the campaign and Hertzog likely will get a look when Thor can afford it. The same like will be the case for Katie Sherwin on the right wing, as the Cassadaigua born fullback continues the trend of Thor being open to using dual nationals as part of the national team when it had mostly been frowned upon before his appointment. With his attitude in doing whatever it takes to get the results, it makes sense that he is utilizing all the players at his disposal, the fact they are dual nationals meaning little to him.

Midfielders

RW: Pista Benedek, age 29, Galatica
RW/MC: Joska Rác, age 25, Tanrısal
RW: Daniela Zagorec, age 22, CA Paulinthal (F)
A/MC: Zágon Schmid, age 28, Tanrısal
A/MC: Áron Gombos, age 31, CA Paulinthal
A/MC: Tarján Ságy, age 22, Royal Jam FC Image
D/MC: Borsala Takácz, age 29, Galatica (F)
MC: Petra Lázár, age 29, Megabrantid SC Image (F)
A/MCLR: Sebestyen Sallay, age 32, Club Stein-los
MC: Alyssa Chenoweth Image, age 32, Stein-los Turkish (F)
LW: Asztrik Biró, age 33, Mâ Âlâmëómë Image
ST/LW/AMC: Mór Buday, age 25, Herzegovina City FC Image
LW: Mara Gyenis, age 33, Tanrısal (F)

Historically the midfield has been the strength of the team but like a lot of the team, the pool has been getting a bit long in the tooth with few obvious replacements on the way. Thankfully though Asztrik Biró is an ageless wonder, perhaps thanks in large part of having developed in Farfadillis and the craziness that happens there football is simply a bit of relaxation. He is going to likely be the focal point of the attack despite playing on the wing, with a lot of the offensive thrust being focused through his immense skill and talent to create for himself or others. Zágon Schmid will look to be the playmaker in the middle when it is not being forced out wide but with his talent for finishing he plays more like a withdrawn striker than an advanced midfielder. Borsala Takácz will look to be the destroyer in the middle and gum up opposition attacks after having helped Galatica back into IFCF relevence in the SuperLiga over the last few seasons. By that same token, Pista Benedek has earned the right to replace the veterans Aswad and Kat Földessi on the right, the latter having been replaced on the roster by her club teammate who took over her starting spot there. Daniela Zagorec and Tarján Ságy represent hope that the talent pool is starting to fill up again from the youth ranks but whether or not they actually see the field will be a major question during the campaign, though given Thor's comments about developing domestically it would be surprising if they do not.

Strikers

AMLC/ST: Bogdan Laszlo, age 27, Algolia AC Image
ST: Járngrímur Náttúlfsson Image, age 28, CA Paulinthal
ST: Orkény Szegedi, age 29, Galatica
ST: Szalyk Mezey, age 28, Paulinthal FC
ST: Ubaldina Mondragón Sepúlveda, age 28, Santos Luega (F)
AML/ST: Melinda Sultész, age 29, Avidë (F)
ST: Nikolett Horváth, age 33, Club Stein-los (F)

With age having caught up to Bazzi towards the end of last cycle, Járngrímur steps up as the tip of the spear and the Wanderers have to be counting their lucky stars that such a talented player fell into their lap. Graintfjall's collapse allowed this remarkable striker to file a nationality switch and four straight seasons of dominating the SuperLiga has showcase his clinical finishing and superb attacking abilities, as well as having a clutch factor that should prove resourceful. Partnering will be Laszlo who is far less consistent than his partner but has quite the high ceiling and when on form is a deadly striker in his own right, having honed his craft in both Audioslavia and Squornshelous. The first option off the bench if it is needed will be Orkény Szegedi, who was a bit of late bloomer but back to back seasons being among the top scorers in the SuperLiga has earned him that right. A pure goal scorer, he know where to be and how to make the most of his opportunities when he gets there. The other options are not likely to see the field much but Melinda Sultész' versatility might just have her with the edge as the most likely to see significant playing time among the other four options in the pool currently.

Tactics
Image
Bringing back the four four two, even if the midfield roles were shaken up a little has brought the Wanderers back into a sense of familiarity and comfort that has allowed the team to progress forward towards turning the team back around to contenders. The more defensive midfielder will be responsible for screening the backline and providing passing options for both the attack and defense. Playmaking duties will fall squarely on the number eight who will have two striking options playing off the shoulders of the backline or attacking wingers to build an attack with. The wingers are not expected to be experts in marking and tackling but they are expected to track back and provide support in at least terms of bodies and numbers, which means they are going to be endurance based players with the amount of running they are going to do. The same will be true of the fullbacks, who will need to be competent enough on the ball to make overlapping and underlapping runs in the attacking third when the team has prolonged bouts of possession.

Captain: Zétény Szatmári
Corner Taker: Asztrik Biró

Roster for the Legalese National Team for World Cup 99

RP permissions
My permissions are your permissions, with two notes:
  • If you have Choose Goalscorers set to “N”, then ignore the above and consider all permissions set to “N”. (This does not apply to setting preferred goalscorers, mind you -- for that, consider yourself as having reasonable free reign regarding who scored for Legalese)
  • I reserve the right to interpret events -- particularly long-reaching effects on any Legalite involved -- differently.

Legalese is a quiet, medium-sized nation sitting near the geographic center of Anaia. Where many of the nations of the Bekkside are known for something, Legalese is best known for being there, a stable presence in an uncertain world.

Manager: Holly McNulty
McNulty, in her late thirties, prepares to run it back for her second cycle in charge. The Plains County native joined the program after a run as Plainsvew Town’s manager, where she was credited for turning the second side in Plainsview into an attacking powerhouse that won both the county and regional championship in her final season before taking the helm. While the team’s performance was (somewhat expectedly) mediocre previously, hope springs amongst the Federation that McNulty’s gradual shifts in playing style and side can turn the fortunes of the NT side around as well as another milestone cup approaches.

Coach: Murray Moreland
Moreland, in his mid-to-late forties, joined McNulty after a stint as the Assistant Coach for Racing West Tyrellia. The Francis City born, Tyrellia-raised native is known for a stern, disciplined style on the training pitch, which was credited as key to Racing’s rise up the table, on their way to a somewhat unexpected spot in the All-Island Championship the next time the Leaguealese takes the field.

No matter the manager, one thing remains true: Legalite football is a goal-focused, attack-first style. Under Holly McNulty, that takes the form of a 3-4-3. Some may prefer to call it a 3-2-2-3, looking at the way it plays on the pitch, but not McNulty. In this formation, the defense plays three across, each serving as central defenders, but will extend across the entire touchline as needed. The midfield consists of two wing backs, along with two central midfielders focused on possession and transition, with the typical complement of three forwards on hand to create chances early and often. The mentalities remain well-known to those who’ve seen the Legalites play: scrappy, hard-working, annoying to have to get by, but not overly difficult to score on once you’ve broken down the best way through. Look for a lot of pace, and for all of the available substitutions to be used.

What to expect from the Keepers
The writing has been on the wall for some time, and finally, the change has been made. McNulty's system prefers that the goaltender not just be the playcaller from inside the goal area, but that they be willing to push outward a bit further themselves, acting as more of a sweeper keeper. During the first cycle, she was patient to see if starting keeper Kawacatoose Swamp Johnson would be able to adapt, but going into qualification, she appears to have called time on the attempt, and is going with her former keeper from Plainsview Town, Johnny Ulyatt, as her first pick. Ulyatt gives up some height to his predecessor, but makes up for it with more pace and a more reserved style. Sien Bay’s Emma Pett remains the second choice, her game fitting well enough to be a suitable replacement. Rufus Varnum sees his name added to the roster for the first time in his career; the young keeper plays for his hometown club, Shappington Town, and looks to be here for the cultural experience and opportunity to learn, if not see minutes.

What to expect from the Defense
The gradual shifts continue, as McNulty finds the right fit to replace retiring captain, Jack Farmer. Of the seven, six return from the previous cycle, with Plainsview’s Katrina Oat joining Adrian George and Niamh Murray as the primary three. That said, if any position on the field doesn’t work the way it’s needed -- after all, the central three are also where the counterattack begins -- it’s this where the changes could be fast and furious. Denis (pronounced “Denny”) Snow, the newest addition to the roster, may see more playing time than any other newbie as a result.

What to expect from the Wing Backs
One could say that the Wing Backs are the unsung heroes of this formation. Their roles typically require them to be back on defense when the opposition has possession, forming more of a 5-2-3 than a 3-4-3; however for the attack to be at its’ best, the wings are typically the dynamic crossers, putting the ball in play for the trio of forwards. They don’t score often, and aren’t the first to get credit for a (likley rare) shutout, but their play is the most likely difference between a win and a loss. Faron Hill Adams, will be on the right, bringing much more experience than his twenty-five years of age would suggest. On the left, Jonathan Kingman established himself as the first pick in the previous cycle, and continues in that role with a new shirt number to reflect it. Derrick Yomkins remains the first substitute should either side need a rest. Meanwhile, in what might also reflect the somewhat thin prospects for this part of the player pool, Gagan Epsom decided not to step aside, and will leave his Shappington home waiting for his permanent return for one more shot at making the World Cup.

What to expect from the central Midfielders
The central midfield is about control for this side; the right pairing of skills and tactics will determine if the home side are able to keep control of the match. Typically, both midfielders will drift anywhere between the penalty areas, with one true box-to-box midfielder playing alongside a possession-focused ball-winning mid. Thomas Toal and AC Sheehy remain the 1-2 combo of choice going in, but those close to the team have said they wouldn’t be surprised if it ends up being a triangle rotation of leading mids, with Joseph Damhan’s work rate suggesting he’s ready to step up. At any rate, at least one of the substitutions will almost certainly come from the midfield.

What to expect from the Forwards
Traditionally, the typical Legalite forward only tracks back into the defensive half when absolutely necessary. This remains true under McNulty’s system, but to a different extent. The main strategy of the three forwards (in order to reach their collective goal, which are, well, goals) is to pile on as many shots on-target as possible, the idea being that continuous chance creation will challenge the keeper to the point that they break down and open the floodgates. To this end, the trio will take on whatever role is needed, to the point that you could see three strikers, two strikers and a false nine, or even two deep-lying forwards if the situation calls for it. As for the personnel, a shakeup has begun. Richie Funderbunk’s poor performance in the previous cycle has weighed heavily enough on the manager, and has led to him being left off the roster for this campaign. who didn’t have the best of qualifiers. Leo Hill-Tanner joins Hisana Hirst and Lily Tonawanda as the preferred trio. However, none of the three should feel content, as a new set of youngsters follow behind them. All three have helped their club sides reach the top level of their regions, and are starting to pick up a following; Kamama Dunphy’s success at Java Forest has the home fans serenading her with “Do doo, do do do” after her goals, and McFadden and Wombles Waterman (only his parents call him Eugene these days) are no slouches, either -- at least against local competition.

National Stadium, Central Junction
Located in the nation's capital, National Stadium is the primary stadium for the Federation's national team, and will host all home qualifying matches this cycle -- admittedly a less-glamorous job than hosting the World Cup 68 final as well as the Inagural CAFA Cup Final, but it's a purpose nonetheless .It is an all-seater, with a capacity of 83,068 through the three tiers of seating, as well as a bank of 20 private boxes, and is known to rattle and sway with the noise and stomping of the crowd.

As for travel to Central Junction: given that most opponents will be traveling by air or sea, you'll find like yourself entering the country via Port Hound International Multiport. It is a vast complex situated on the inner portion of the "little island" of the Karin Islands. From this international entry point, visitors will then proceed to the Main Line, Legalese's primary high speed rail line. Travel on the line will take one across the Karin Islands, passing through regional capital Tyrellia, before crossing the Legal Pass, continuing to the nation's capital. With frequent rides (and no charge for boarding the trains), visitors will have no issues reaching their destination in short order! (Teams may/should anticipate that a special service offering the visiting national team a private train car for travel will be in effect for their journeys to matches in CJ)

Text description of the kits: The primary team kit consists of a black shirt and shorts, with red socks. The shirt contains a double sash of solid red over solid white, stretching diagonally from the left shoulder to the right hip. Over the shirt-wearer's heart (as well as on the right hemline of the shorts) is the Legalese crest. The player's number appears to the right chest area on the shirt, and on the left leg of the shorts, both in white.

The secondary team kit consists of a red shirt and black shorts, with red socks. The shorts description is identical to the primary kit description, save for the number on the shorts being gold in color. The secondary shirt contains a black sash running from the left shoulder to the right hip; the sash is not solid, appearing as if it was splashed onto the shirt. The shirt has white collars and cuffs, and contains the Legalese crest in the same position as the primary kit shirt; the number is in the same position as the primary, but colored gold.

The third kit, designed to honor the region (while firmly asserting a national identity). It consists of a multicolored shirt, along with black shorts and red socks. The shirt is mainly purple and green, with a progressing block-like pattern. Over the pattern is a red sash, containing the splash style seen on the secondary kit. The shirt includes black cuffs, and a black/red color.

The keeper kit is a longsleeve royal blue shirt with white cuffs and collars. The shirt has gold dots across it, shrinking in size moving up from the hem to the collar. a black-and-red sash runs diagonally from the right hip to the left shoulder; the sash consists of a series of thin lines, with the upper half of the lines being red, and the latter half black. The Crest and Numbers on the shirt and shorts are the same as seen on the secondary kit.

The crest contained on the primary, secondary, and keeper kits is a nonagon outlined in gold, with a black field, red sash, and white scales. The third kit contains a simplified crest of white scales only.

Host/Co-Host of many World Cup-associated things, mostly long ago. A couple of small wins as well, which is nice.

Football is the by far most popular sport in Tikariot. The Tikariot Premier League is the highest tier of the Tikariotian football pyramid and is one of the most competitive leagues in the multiverse.
With ten World Cup participations, including third place at World Cup 97, Tikariot is part of the Rushmorean sub-region of Pavola. Coming off their third Copa Rushmori win, Tikariot are looking to build on the momentum!

Image

The fans of the Snowy Owls, called the Dark Tide, also deserve particular mention. Not only are they renowned for their chants, but they are also bringing the Thunder Clap (Click here for example) to the stadium, something that the players join in as a pre-game ritual that has left an impression on the opponents and opposing fans more than once (OOC: similar to the Haka of the New Zealand All Blacks). The players will form a triangle near the kick-off circle and lift their arms, which the fans do as well. Then a lone drum will start to signal the rhythm and both players and fans alike will move in unison, each clap accompanied by a loud cry, the claps (and cries) speeding up, creating an overwhelming sense of impending doom.

Brian McAllister - 53 Image
After having been assistant to now former coach Stuart Ekstrom, Brian McAllister made the move to Sargossa and enjoyed a lot more success than his former mentor, having two Copa Rushmori victories under his belt. With him, the Snowy Owls continue to utilize their flexible 4-3-3, in which the fullbacks can push forward and the wingers drop back depending on the game situation, add unpredictability. With this formation, he also won Tikariot's Copa Rushmori at its 42nd, 47th and 48th editions, bringing his personal total to 5, making him the winningiest coach in Copa Rushmori history.

The history of the Pyazhnayan national team has been marked by a few ups, a couple of downs and a lot of flatness. The fact they managed to reach the final of two consecutive CAFAs is a sign that the team has a lot of quality, but the fact that they lost both of them also signals that there was more work to be done. Their fortunes in the World Cup qualifiers have been middling at best and WC99 is Agratova's first chance for a result.

Image
Aleksandra Agratova - 43
Aleksandra Agratova inheritated the job from Zavrashin after the WCQ98 campaign fell apart once more. She will be continuing the flexible 4-4-2 formation and an offensive style to surprise the opposing teams.

So... the IAC didn't go to plan. Despite coming into the tournament as one of the teams expected to do well, the Claws fell flat on their faces and exited in the group stage. Thus concluded the BKL experiment, and after that disaster it'll probably be a while before the SFF take on another foreign coach. To (hopefully) lead the next era of the Claws, they brought in Handrix Casfo, manager of club side Mieteng City. Casfo has proven his worth over 7 seasons at Mieteng, bringing both a league and cup title. The squad remains pretty much the exact same as in the IAC, despite a few changes to the backroom staff. Casfo obviously believes that he has a strong group of players, and doesn't want to disrupt what is on paper Saterun's best side ever. However, he is going to have to do something different than his predeccesor to actually succeed with this squad. Casfo is more attacking than the traditional Saterun manager, and will definitely look to utilize some of the bright new attacking stars Saterun has gained over the past two seasons. As the Claws enter qualifying hoping to banish some IAC demons, all eyes will be on the touchline come Matchday 1.

Deriving from the fast-flowing and powerful river that dominates the nation, Kwrpan football aims to be equally rapid – players will most often look to get their head up and drive forward as quickly as possible. Kwrpan fullbacks are especially a point of pride – a truly rigorous developmental process creates the stamina required to make overlapping runs dozens of times per game while still maintaining defensive duties - but Kwrpan players are extremely positionally flexible, and generally capable of playing across their entire line. Kwrpan fans have little patience for defensive football – while some managers have seen success in the Bright League with more pragmatic strategies in the past, fans have repeatedly made clear that they would rather lose 4-3 than win 1-0. This leaves Kwrpan teams extremely exposed on the counter-attack, especially against higher-level opposition.

Image
The National Stadium is the marquee stadium in Kwrpania. Host to the Kwrpan Cup final, as well as Bright League clubs (and fierce rivals) Ironworks and Central YPA, the stadium is the largest in the country, as befitting Tydebwg's status as the most populous city. Sitting within the dense urban core of Tydebwg, the stadium is extremely well-served by local buses as well as the Bomsygmwk metro station on the Capital Region Metro, and is just ten minutes from the main railway station and thirty from Tydebwg International Airport. The facilities themselves are, while nice, not the most modern, and the dense surroundings allow for the potential for an extremely hostile welcome if qualification is on the line for the Kwrpan team.

Hosted opponents: Pakhomiya (MD1), Sudilia (MD7), Juvencus (MD11), Valentine Z (MD18)

Image
Sunset Coast Arena is the most modern stadium in Kwrpania, having been completed just two years ago. Sitting directly on the water in the heart of Bezbenpam's coastal district, the arena plays host to Sunset Coast in the Bright League. Bezbenpam is the second most populated city in Kwrpania, and shares a metropolitan area with the city-state of Frjálshöfn as well as an international airport, meaning that transport is both rapid and efficient to the capital metro as well as internationally.

Hosted opponents: Quakmybush (MD3), Jeruselem (MD13)

Image
While it may be the nation's capital, Kwrpanmap is only the third largest city in the nation - though its metro area, which includes neighboring Tydebwg, contains almost half of the Kwrpan population. Capital Park is the historic stadium of the capital, and is rather unique in its location, being sat on a small island across a narrow channel from the city's downtown. Traditionally, access to the stadium was only possible by ferry, and many thousands still use this method on matchdays for Railways and KNAF in the Bright League, but recent expansion has connected the stadium to the Capital Region Metro.

Hosted opponent: Tevuekk (MD8)

Image
The Mist Valley is a hidden gem of beauty in Kwrpania. The combination of the weather, where warm, humid air from the coast and Mother River meets the cooler air of the upland South, and the roaring Thundering Falls just outside of town that mark the end of the navigable portion of Mother River, create an unending mist that floats and swirls throughout the valley. The mist can be stunningly beautiful, especially in the early morning light, but its constant presence has created a rather gloomy people. That ends when they walk in the Thundering Falls Arena, though, the home of their beloved Mist Valley club in the Bright League. Expect mist (of course), a several-day scenic boat ride (if you would prefer not to drive on slick, sometimes windy roads) and perhaps a bit of rain, and a boisterous crowd who aren't shy about lighting flares to drive their players on and the mist away.

Hosted opponent: Busoga Islands (MD15)

Image
The smallest of the stadiums selected to host World Cup qualification matches, the South Province Football Development Center, owned by the province's footballing body, plays host to Foresters in the Bright League as well as the South Province all-star side in the Kwrpan Cup. Reńban is a rather small town of around 30,000, but its status as capital of the South Province and vital transport link to the extremely rural surrounding areas give it a liveliness unmatched by most places its size. This does not make it easy to get to, however - there is no airport in the South, rail is slow and unreliable, and the goal of "100% paved roads" set by previous Kwrpan governments has meant that reliable gravel roads have been replaced by roads riddled with potholes, some of monumental size. As is befitting many cultural differences within the South, the local football support is rather vibrant in comparison to Kwrpan football culture, with fireworks featuring at every Foresters game. While KFF regulations bar fireworks from being used within the stadium during international matches, locals will have no hesitation about shooting them up and above the stadium from surrounding forest during the match.

Hosted opponent: Eshialand (MD5)

My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:

Choose my scorers
Godmod scoring events
RP injuries to my players* (please TG/DM me to let me know, I determine severity)
Give yellow cards to my players
Give red cards to my players* (up to 2, please TG/DM me to let me know)
Godmod other events* (TG/DM me if they're interesting, I'll usually approve)

(Also available for contact on the NSSports discord)

Notes:
Kwrpan naming convention is [given name]-[House prefix] for shortened names, and [given name]-[patronymic]-[House] for formal names. You should not use the formal names in any RP, except when referring to government ministers and politicians, but referring to e.g. GK #1 as "Fakswr" is not acceptable - it must be "Fakswr-rof".
Generative AI was used for the creation of stadium images, as well as for inspiration behind some personal and placenames. All written content included in this roster is original work.

Fédération Vixettienne de Football (FVF)
The Vixettean National Football Team
Équipe de Vixette de football

An Overview of Vixette
Vixette, a Sonnelian archipelago, is a union of four territories: Vixette, Quincunx, Sugaru and Dubois. Considered to be a theocratic union, the four nations share close cultural and religious ties. Each territory can be described as thalassocracies, with maritime trade forming a major part of Vixette's economy. Vixette's population is made up of Lyon, anthropomorphic lions. The Lyon were believed to have been humans-turn-lions after being afflicted with an unknown disease or curse.

As a theocracy, Vixette adheres to the Tetralotoi faith. Literally translating to "Four Lotuses", Tetralotoism is a monotheistic religion centred around Lototheos, the "Lotus God". Lotuses are seen as the purest form of a living being, and are thus regarded highly in Vixettean culture. Adherents to Tetralotoism, Tetralotoien(ne)s, view Lototheos as the creator of the world, and Vixette as their holy seat. Tetralotoien(ne)s believe that Lototheos has control over the sea currents, weather, and disease. Tetralotoien(ne)s typically pray to Lototheos every month at a central temple; prayers usually constitute of thanksgiving, confessions, and requests.

Vixettean laws and constitution include a section specifically for religious (Tetralotoi) laws, but foreigners and non-adherents are exempt from the laws. The process for Tetralotoien(ne)s to legally disavow their religion is long and complicated, and ex-Tetralotoien(ne)s are considered social pariahs. That being said, many Tetralotoien(ne)s, while legally followers of Tetralotoism, do not actively follow the faith.

Vixette and its territories sit on a volcanic archipelago, although most above-ground volcanoes are long extinct or dormant. Vixette's capital, Regia Centralis, sits in a caldera on Vixette Island. The other territories are also characterised by fertile soils, mountaineous terrain, and frequent earthquakes. Quincunx is the agricultural heartland of Vixette; Sugaru boasts many exotic species of flora and fauna due to its relative isolation; Dubois is known for its picturesque landscape.

National Team Info
  • Rank: NIL

Squad List
All players were chosen via NT tryouts as Vixette doesn't have a professional football league yet.
Bolded are likely starters

Goalkeepers
+----+------------------+-----+--------+
| # | Name | Age | Gender |
+----+------------------+-----+--------+
| 1 | Félicien Mercier | 23 | M |
| 12 | Ghislaine Riff | 25 | F |
| 23 | Servais Bloise | 31 | M |
+----+------------------+-----+--------+

Scout Notes:
  • Mercier might just be the best goalie in Vixette! Great agility and athleticism, and his sweeper keeper style helps in 1v1 situations
  • Riff and Bloise aren’t far behind, but they are far too risk-averse. Tend to stick to their line, but make up for it with great shotstopping ability.

Defenders
+----+---------------------+----------+-----+--------+
| # | Name | Position | Age | Gender |
+----+---------------------+----------+-----+--------+
| 2 | Blanchefleur Robida | LB | 21 | F |
| 20 | Hadrien Lafrenière | CB | 28 | M |
| 5 | Jehanne Neveux | RB | 22 | F |
| 3 | Gédéon Tillett | CB | 17 | M |
| 14 | Valentine Renaudin | CB | 28 | M |

| 17 | Gaël Rey-Bellet | LB | 32 | M |
| 4 | Marie-Thérèse Zazou | RB | 18 | F |
| 16 | Ignacius Gaume | CB | 26 | M |
| 19 | Ludivine Charroux | CB | 22 | F |
| 6 | René Diard | LB | 24 | F |
| 13 | Blandine Gigot | CB | 28 | F |
+----+---------------------+----------+-----+--------+

Scout Notes:
  • Lafrenière might be the most ballsy person in Vixette. Great defending and definitely a good candidate for captaincy!
  • Robida and Neveux have massive pace; could consider deploying them in the midfield if needed.
  • Zazou has great potential to become one of Vixette’s best fullbacks.
  • Gaume might have one of the most intimidating physiques ever

Midfielders
+----+-------------------+----------+-----+--------+
| # | Name | Position | Age | Gender |
+----+-------------------+----------+-----+--------+
| 8 | Alvin Forget | LM | 23 | M |
| 15 | Yolaine Lamboley | RM | 34 | F |
| 9 | Godfrey Lecerf | CAM | 26 | M |

| 18 | Céline Arthaud | CAM | 19 | F |
| 22 | Isidore Bourbotte | LM/RM | 26 | M |
+----+-------------------+----------+-----+--------+

Scout Notes:
  • Don’t forget Forget: one of the best passers in the team!
  • Lamboley may not be the youngest, but she still has fast legs!
  • Arthaud’s passion is infectious, and she’s a great dribbler as well

Forwards
+----+---------------------+-----+--------+
| # | Name | Age | Gender |
+----+---------------------+-----+--------+
| 10 | Mia Lozier | 26 | F |
| 9 | Jean-André Louis | 24 | M |

| 21 | Chantel Bracquemond | 30 | F |
| 11 | Yann Hémery | 21 | M |
+----+---------------------+-----+--------+

Scout Notes:
  • Lozier’s legs are strong: just look at her shots!
  • Louis is notably nimble for his bulky frame.

Tactics
The Lyon are known for their significant strength and stamina, especially compared to humans. If you put a Lyon and a human side-by-side, the size difference alone is enough to tell you not to mess around with them. However, if you consider their size, you may find out (sooner or later) that Lyons can be a bit unagile, and despite their speed, it's harder for them to change directions.

Aillet likes to field a heavily defensive line-up that aims to prevent goals through sheer brute force. Even though the Lyon don't usually intend to injure, some of their tackles might be a bit... rough, to say the least. Aillet also likes to play from the wing, with the fullbacks and wing midfielders usually running the show with their dribbling and crossing. A low block is incredibly common when playing against the Accursed, so don't expect to see many goals from the side. Still, Vixette's strikers are hunters in front of goal, so don't leave them out to prowl just yet!

Stadium
Vixettean home games are played at the Stade de Vixette (cap. 12,000). Vixette is only accessible via sea.

Style Modifier: +4.2

GK – Elandor Elenion (Rienerrion Town)
Still Exultias’ number one with no clean sheets in the most recent IAC. A towering shot stopper who dominates the domestic scene and has firmly locked down the number one jersey.
DF – RB – Faelar Galadrieth (Rienerrion Town)
The first change up from Apollinaris as they drop the more attack minded Thoth-Manon for Galadrieth. A solid defender regularly flying under the radar by doing their duty and nothing too flashy, another steady head bringing assurance to the Exultious fans.
DF – CB – Sigunda Steiner (Altburg Wolves)
Most capped Exultious national player who has played almost every minute of every game, a true die on the pitch patriot who has no qualms putting their body on the line if it means helping their fellow players.
DF – CB – Edla Grosslaufer (Dasmahler FC)
The PB to the J, the salt to the vinegar, corrupt politicians to the guillotine, Siggy and Eds just go together. The most dependable of duos in defence who will be the first to the breach with a no nonsense style of play.
DF – LB – Merrin Greenbottle (Lithrelir Rangers)
Still being kept in defence thanks to the stand out performances of Starkzahn, Greenbottle will provide so much going forward that it will be of no surprise if most of the goals scored come from this left side.
MF – Rikecos Duskstriker (Zerynthia FC)
Zephyr number one, the enforcer with a hammer of a boot they will use for both punishing those getting too close with the ball and to test the opposition keeper from range. The engine in the middle of the park to keep the team ticking over and a presence on every corner.
MF – Loruruk Hazeeye (Zerynthia FC)
Zephyr number two, the pretty boy who will try and run circles around any player daft enough to come within range. A keen eye for distribution and a desire to succeed on the multiversal stage, a potent combination.
FW – RW – Sable Gillyflower (Timbery FC)
The fastest player on the pitch, on paper at least. A domestic league champion who regularly contributes assists and the occasional goal by beating their man, getting in behind and causing havoc.
FW – LW – Lupold Starkzahn (Lithrelir Rangers)
The main penalty taker for the team who is yet to miss a spot kick. Recently completed a big money move from Gormundi to Lithrelir to carry on playing in division one, this time playing for a top ranked team. A constant presence on the counter, a master at standing on the shoulder of the last man.
FW – ST – Aria Vielener (Dasmahler FC)
The target player with surprisingly good feet for a big player. A dominant force that will cause problems for defenders who think they can push the forwards around. A force to be reckoned with.
FW – ST – Gimli Brambleberry (Timbery FC)
The natural born leader of the Exultious team, scoring goals for fun and being the calming presence in every situation to keep the team grounded and moving in the right direction.

The World Cup of Obligation

The World Cup is, historically, the people's tournament. While other sports may hold a place in the popular imagination for the obvious reasons, it has always been soccer that has been the most important international tournament. Even the World Baseball Classic, and baseball's overall popularity within Milchama, has not dimmed this essential feature of Milchamian sporting life. It's all about the World Cup! If we had won the World Cup back in the 30s many believe that the Isolation would have started a lot sooner and been a lot permanent. However, that didn't happen, we continued to toil, and still await our first World Cup victory.

That has started to change now. People seem less enthused that a World Cup is going on and in a conversation in Alexandria today you are just as likely to hear things about the Ships and the Commies or about what's happening in the MBL than the almost here World Cup qualifying. And while this is great for baseball, and the future of the MBL, it does leave some questions for the Milchamian national football team, what would it take to get it back? How do you make soccer more popular again? How do you make people care about the World Cup?

Milchama has fallen to a Pot C team that hasn't been very good, outside of the ARC, in ages. The expectations are always to qualify to the World Cup at minimum, especially with the new 48 team cup, but once we're there there's really no way to win. Getting to the quarterfinals would be nice, but absent a Vilita scorination, that seems unlikely to happen. Moreover, even our recent Cups of Harmony success has been fleeting, the Warriors used to be perennial contenders for that trophy if they didn't make the tournament but didn't even make it out of the group stage last time and didn't even qualify for the CoH two cups ago so those days seem over as well. Basically, the Warriors are stuck in a rut and the question of World Cup 99 is "can they get out of the rut?" Well let's see!

Manager: Itay Makamura - The only domestic manager who was willing to take on the roll. Makamura is fine and nothing special as a manager, he's bounced around various leagues and has not done anything in particular to distinguish himself. He exists and that's good enough for now.

Formation:
The usual 3-3-4

GK: Ellie Hammond - A great shot stopper who has a reputation for being a little shaky on crosses. One thing she won't have to deal with are nerves as she has been in many a big game.
D: Sirus McMillan - One of the best outside backs in the Alexandria and New Spartan league, McMillan has been waiting to get a real run with the national team and now gets it.
D: Reuven Bar Simcha - The son of happiness is a real grump for a central defender. Bar Simcha has a no nonsense reputation and is the captain of this particular outfit.
D: Hershel Heschel - The son of a rabbi, Heschel is known for his communication skills on the pitch, this mostly means he has an excessively loud voice. He's also big on the curling circuit as a skip of his own rink. They won 2 events last year!
M: Yael Tanner - Has played a lot of forward as well as midfield. Works much more forward than a traditional Milchamian mid but her speed makes up for some plays out of position.
M: Claudia Baum - A proven ball distributor. Her play in the middle has gotten her the nickname of the Quarterback for her ability to a. make the right pass and b. create enough time and space to become the center of play constantly. Has led multiple leagues in assists for the last 4 years.
M: Moriah Congrek - Once a striker but moved into midfield once it became clear she did more with her defensive responsibilities than her attacking responsibilities. Is the steel of the midfield.
F: Steven Point - Not from Wisconsin but nevertheless a skilled crosser of the ball. Point sometimes moves back to cover Tanner's runs from midfield. Their friendship is a key mark to success for this team.
F: Haim Taim - A sweet life helps this delicious forward score many life affirming goals.
F: Tamar Sessell - Sessell has had their ups and downs but has settled down into one of the best strikers for the multiple sides. Expect a good run from Sessell and some real questions about whether the step up in class to international competition is a good one.
F: Simeon Ben Yonatan - A classic Milchamian wide forward, Ben Yonatan has all the skills necessary to do what's expected of him in this formation.

Subs:
GK: Fletcher Jones - The newest Fletcher!
D: Quentin Phillips - Speedster, will do better.
D: Stephanie Sasson - The French pronunciation please.
D: Shir Mendelbaum - She sings of you!
M: Jacob Andsons - He has kids!
M: Elior Sheinbaum - First sub off the bench for the midfield.
M: Hibtip - The rare mononym.
F: Uri Daberi - He speaks!
F: Jonathan Filmanetzki - He shoots! He scores!
F: Avion Thomas - Classic center forward.
M/F: Ricky Brenner - Can play anywhere.
M/D: Wolf Zeev - Will hurt you, possibly.

Our traditional +3 and do whatever with the RP permissions, yes, seriously, don't worry about it. I'm fine, if I dislike a thing I'll probably ignore it but I'll probably think it's funny and just run with it.
Milchama Sports achievements:
World Baseball Classic 23 Champion! Arrosia Regional Championship 2 Champion!
Note: The demonym is Milchamian. There are two of the letter "I(i)" and not one.

3x CoH winner (29, 46, 50) 3x WBC winner (4,5,23), 1x World Cup host (32), 1x ARC Champion, Various other minor trophies there's a football club trophy, a kleptochase trophy, Other minor international football trophies.

Under Vaughn Palladino, Guildenstern Cardew has turned into the clear number one choice between the sticks for Sporting Ceneisis. He may not be the player who shipped the least goals in the Premier League this season but he stopped enough shots to help the Blues to their fourth FPL title. Now it's time for Guildy to do the same for the national team.

RB: Antonio GALINDEZ 25 y/o, Sporting Ceneisis Image
Remember the time when Abanhfleft's fullbacks played more like wingbacks and were constantly bombing up and down the flanks of the pitch even when the formation had actual wingers in it? It would seem like Galindez's fullback training was in direct response to that, since while he definitely has the pace to become a wingback, the art of defending had been drilled so deeply into him that it really looks like it hurts him when he crosses the halfway line. It's strange, but apparently it works for him.

RCB: Elias THONET 26 y/o, Wanda Island Wanderers Image
People might say that he's a bit short for a central defender (even if he is 5 feet 10 inches), but that isn't really what Elias has been doing there ever since he first grabbed the attention of Fleftic fans while playing for Garufaloe F.C. He's already a good defender right off the bat, but his real strengths lie in his passing and technique. Wanda Island signed him to be a ball-playing center back, and Levi Baak expects him to do the same for the Democratic Republic.

LCB: Chris BELLINGHAM 25 y/o, Arsenal de Releinthi Image
That old joke of one inch of height making all of the difference between one's perception of how tall another person is compared to another is making rounds all over the Fleftic football fandom once again thanks to the new partnership of Elias Thonet and Chris Bellingham in the Fleftic backline. Bellingham really does look like a mountain next to Thonet, but in all seriousness, his height is only secondary to what he actually does on the pitch. His main job is to defend, defend, defend, and thanks to his height and incredible jumping ability, Bellingham is also a threat on the set piece.

LB: James LAKTAW 24 y/o, Sporting Ceneisis Image
James is the elder of the Laktaw brothers who actually managed to break through the Sporting Ceneisis setup to become an established member of the Blues' squad. It wasn't an easy road for James to become a trusted member a Ceneisis squad managed by Denise Crawford and then Rico Van Zant, but this is one instance in which meritocracy actually worked out. Even in his under-18 days, James already showed that he was a solid defender with very good technique when it came to getting out of danger. Other aspects of his game such as pace and passing still needed some work, hence why James went the way of many other Ceneisis academy prospects and had to develop himself on loan spells for different clubs. James broke out with Sarvusdalamoive, and after that impressive spell he has now cemented himself in the Ceneisis back line. Now he hopes to do the same for the senior Abanhfleft team under Gennady Chernenko.

RM: Şəmistan BABUROV 28 y/o, CSKA Tiraspol Image (Pridnestrovia), vice-captain
The fact that he's only getting a call-up to the senior team now is criminal, to say the least. Some would even hazard to say that four years of his career was wasted while the Revolutionaries struggled to remain competitive in the World Cup qualifiers with a bunch of older players, but at least he's in the team now, and he's just hitting his prime as well. Baburov, also known as Sam to make it easy for everyone else, is pretty much this new-look team's midfield engine, distributing the ball when he is on it and going box-to-off while off the ball. He's also good at set pieces, but he's better off finding a target instead of actually going for goal himself.

LM: Audric DUBREUCQ 25 y/o, Malabon SC Image
Dubreucq is not the best young midfielder in Abanhfleft, not even by a country mile. But he pretty much makes up for his shortcomings by being the kind of guy who gives his all when it comes to either defending or attacking. That being said, he's best utilized as a counterattacking player. He's speedy and he's got a wicked left foot on him. That left peg of his is strong enough to turn a football into a cannonball, and if he existed in a cartoon world, Dubreucq would be putting holes into goalkeepers' chests every single game.

RW: Roberto CARLOS LADO 24 y/o, Athletic Wa Deg Image (Copper Cuprum)
Carlos Lado doesn't really look like he fits the mold of a winger: he's big, he's tall, and he's not really that fast. Well, he could definitely beat the average football fan in a foot race, but there are definitely other wingers and even fullbacks who will leave him in the dust in the blink of an eye. In fact, Lado is probably more suited to being a support striker, and Levi Baak's tactics might actually allow him to do that. But as far as being a winger goes, he does have the technique to whip in an inviting cross, and he can and does score the occasional free kick.

CAM: Sven FAHRNI 24 y/o, Ludogorets Markovsky Image
Fahrni has that no-nonsense attitude wherein he only needs to be told what to do once, and then he will do exactly that until someone tells him to stop. This attitude however has also given him a blunt personality wherein he says exactly what he thinks, and if he thinks that someone else is preventing him from doing his job quickly and effectively then he will tell that person to get out of his way, usually in less polite terms. That hasn't earned him a lot of friends, but because he's good at what he does, everyone else tolerates his presence on the pitch and off it. And Sven Fahrni wouldn't have it any other way.

LW: Sacit KÖZALMAZ 25 y/o, Sarvusdalamoive Image
Közalmaz isn't really the mirror opposite of Carlos Lado, but he does have qualities that Lado lacks. Those qualities include a better defensive mentality and the ability to dance and dribble his way out of trouble should the need arise. Pace, however, is one of Közalmaz's weaknesses, and he can't pass or cross the ball to save his life, but he does make up for it somewhat by being an actual threat in front of goal even if it isn't necessarily his job to take pot shots.

ST: Bradley AQUINO 26 y/o, Kimmirut Panhandle Image
People have always rated Bradley's older brother Braydon Aquino as being the future national team player, at least the one assured of getting consistent call-ups and starts. But once again, those people were wrong, and it is now Bradley who has seemingly nailed down a place in the starting eleven while Braydon is nowhere near the senior Revolutionaries team. It's almost carbon copy of the story of the Williamson siblings, Charlene and Gareth. Everyone also thought that Gareth would go on to do great things with the Revolutionaries while Charlene would fade into obscurity. Instead, the exact opposite happened. What a freaky coincidence, right?

RESERVES
GK: Pedro LABINDALAWA 23 y/o, Eielo Sunlight Image on loan from Malabon SC Image

GK: Josiah MALDONADO 26 y/o, Uranium City Radiation Image

RB: Masakazu CHIBA 32 y/o, Riuwiee United Image
Masakazu Chiba is one of an ever-growing number of football players in the Democratic Republic who trace their lineage back to the Japanese nations such as Flardania and, in Masakazu's case, Aji No Moto. Although he was never capped for any of Abanhfleft's youth teams, Ranulph Bustamante is apparently convinced that Masakazu will be able to handle being a bench option for the senior national team for the current World Cup qualifiers. Chiba-san got the chance to show his stuff under a number of different managers, but with age beginning to affect a decline in his skills, Gennady Chernenko opted to send him back to the bench and elevate Antonio Galindez as the new starting right back.

RCB: Jevon EUSEBIO 27 y/o, Xemlice Rovers Image
Jevon Eusebio had already shown glimpses of greatness even while he was rising through the ranks of Xemlice Rovers, from the academy to the first team, but this was the first season that the defender finally showed that he had what it takes to be an FPL-quality player. And with Gennady Chernenko searching for young blood to reinvigorate the national squad, Eusebio looks to be exactly the kind of player he's looking for.

LCB: Jarrett LIBUNAO 29 y/o, Gyouza Young Lads Image
It's probably fair to say that there was a high probability that Gyouza Young Lads wouldn't have earned their promotion back to the Fleftic Premier League without the efforts of one Jarrett Libunao to help the Lads get back up to the top flight. Libunao is a tenacious defender, never giving up on trying to get the ball off of the feet of the opponent, sometimes regardless of the consequences. And it's exactly that kind of tenacity that Gennady Chernenko hopes to add to this team in order to bring them back to their glory days or begin an entirely new age, depending on who one talks to.

LB: Emmanuel LIN 29 y/o, Locomotive Imgortur Image
Locomotive Imgortur had a terrible campaign which almost resulted in their relegation, but no one can say that Manny Lin didn't do what he could to prevent that from happening. Indeed, Lin was perhaps the only bright spot in a shockingly porous back line for the Engineers, as hardly any team managed to get any joy down the left flank whenever he was playing. Now Gennady Chernenko hopes that Lin can do the same for the national team.

RM: Iraklis BABALIOUTAS 24 y/o, Nagato Crownslayers Image (Riena)
He is the beating heart of this young team in more ways than one. On the pitch, Babalioutas may only be an average midfielder at the moment but he's already got solid technique A few more refinements to his game and maybe putting on some more muscle and he'll be pretty much ready for the Fleftic Premier League and maybe even international football. Off the pitch, Babalioutas is a lad who wears his heart on his sleeve, and he's not afraid to be seen crying, whether it's tears of sadness or tears of joy. It's just so easy to gravitate to this young man and become fond of him.

LM: Oliver THORNTON 27 y/o, Arsenal de Releinthi Image
One of the younger players breaking through the ranks of Arsenal de Releinthi under Oleg Mostovoi is none other than Oliver Thornton. He's not a physical specimen by any means but he has a keen eye for the killer pass. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, but the key thing about him is that he actually tries to move play forward, something that surely attracted the attention of Gennady Chernenko, and now Thornton has been rewarded with a spot in the qualifying roster.

RW: Tony CHAMBERS 25 y/o, Rosenpfelblatz North End Image
Time will tell if Tony's sudden emergence onto the Fleftic footballing scene is sustainable or if he's just another flash in the pan. Gennady Chernenko hopes to take advantage of the hype while it lasts by calling Tony up for the qualifiers for the 99th World Cup but the guy already has his work cut out for him. Tony is an excellent pacy winger... in Unang Liga, the second tier of Fleftic football. Many players who shone in Unang Liga often find themselves struggling once they make the step up to the FPL. And Tony here has to go up against actual international caliber players as well. Talk about a baptism of fire.

CAM: Edgar MACASERO 23 y/o, General Santos F.C. Image (Sultanate of Oontaz)
Edgar was one of those guys who looked like he was going to tear up the Fleftic footballing scene once he got his chance to play. However, as had become customary for most of Abanhfleft's youth players, Edgar's time in the Under-18 World Cup and the Di Bradini Cup shook his confidence in his own ability to play, and Edgar had to leave the Democratic Republic to rediscover himself. It would appear that that was exactly what he did in the Sultanate of Oontaz, and he has turned himself into an indispensable player for General Santos F.C.

LW: Drew ALONTO 28 y/o, South Ons Deg Rabbitohs A.F.C. Image (Copper Cuprum)
Levi Baak clearly has a type of winger that he favors above all else, and that is a winger who isn't always the quickest player on the pitch but does have enough technical ability to wriggle his way out of trouble if need be and also knows how and when to cross the ball. Alonto's problem is that while he does know when to cross the ball, he doesn't know how to cross it. At least he doesn't know how to cross the ball without hitting the first opposition player. But he does try to help out in the defensive side of things even if sometimes that creates problems of its own.

ST: Edgar SMITH-FERNANDEZ 26 y/o, Arsenal de Releinthi Image
For a long time, Arsenal de Releinthi had been seeking a striker that could score at least 15 to 20 goals a season as it was believed that such a player was necessary to lead the Gunners to championship glory. They tried to find the solution in the transfer market many times, only it turns out the real solution was under their noses the whole time. Edgar had to wait for his chance to shine before he could finally show his stuff, but when he did, boy did he really show his stuff. Strangely enough, while Edgar has been good enough to score at least 20 goals a season since he claimed his place in the Gunners starting eleven, Releinthi hasn't won the title since he established himself. Funny coincidence, right?

Home Away Third

Manager
Image Ellzidan (F)
Age: 3410
The Drawkian elf comes into a culture that seems to fit her own way of playing and will try to pick up where Dan Eastwood and Emeline Millet left off, hopefully replicating the Euran's penchant for winning trophies. The team looks like it is set to open up a bit more under Elizidan's guidance, returning to a form of football that they are more accustomed to that it was during Millet's time at the helm. She got her tenure as the Marauders manager off to a solid start, getting the team to the Final of the ARC, only to suffer the same fate that the team suffered in the Final of the World Cup, a loss in penalties against Squornshelous. It will be curious to see if that near taste of glory will inspire her and the rest of the team on the get past the very last hurdle and winning trophies once more.

Assistant Manager
Matheo Dybvik
Age: 49
A former national team centerback, Dybvik looks to be the counter balance towards Elizidan's more offensive slant, looking to ensure the team does stay reliably sturdy through the middle and on the defense. Also being a Vanorian, there is hope that he will also be able to bridge the gap in any sort of culture clash or misunderstanding for the Drawkian while she is at the helm of the Marauders.

Keepers
GK: Tobias Propst, age 25, CA Paulinthal Image
GK: Nikolai Simonsen, age 28, Baskita FC Image
GK: Li Lindholm, age 32, CS Saint-Rémy Image (F)
GK: Ines Meyer, age 31, Soldarian FC (F)
GK: Nacho Domínguez, age 31, Club Atlético Bexar

After breaking on to the scene early with Pasargan giants CA Paulinthal, Tobias Propst has taken a firm hold of the number one shirt. A tall and very talented keeper with keen reflexes and instincts, there is reason to believe that he is the answer to the Marauders questions in goal for the next decade or so. Behind him the inconsistencies of Meyer and Domínguez mean that they are not likely going to be a favored pick but provide the depth at the position if for whatever reason they are actually called upon. However the last two years of solid play at the domestic level have seen both Simonsen and Lindholm being recalled to the team, with Simonsen a more traditional keeper compared to Lindholm's quick reflexes. Should Propst be dropped for whatever reason, either of them would be solid choices to replace him in goal and keep the Marauders in the game.

Defenders
LB: Joakim Söderström, age 32, Soldarian FC
LB: Benjamin Foerster, age 32, Raynor City United
LB: Zemira Montoya, age 31, Club Atlético Bexar (F)
CB: Franziska Maurer, age 32, CA Paulinthal Image
R/CB: Florian Beike, age 32, Stein-los Turkish Image
CB: Rasmus Andersen, age 28, Megabrantid Image
CB: Simen Prytz, age 23, Mar Sara FC
L/CB: Thea Borgen, age 28, VLC FC Image (F)
CB: Eric Nordström, age 25, SC Rinaldi
CB: Garoa Cruz, age 32, Club Atlético Bexar (F)
RB: Laura Adler, age 32, Mipojoseon Image (F)
RB: Matthias Freitag, age 33, Raynor City United
C/RB: Sigurd Nikolaisen, age 25, Mâ Âlâmëómë Image

While defense has never typically been the strength of a Vanorian team, there has been and are plenty of individually talented players who do end up playing a defender, with this group of players being no exception. What arguably stopped the team from lifting both the World Cup and ARC trophies was the inability to defend well against the most high flying of offensive teams, though the team's own attack bailed them out a few times. The middle has to get stronger and that is where Maurer and Beike with their experience and calm demeanor should lead the line and keep things as calm and as organized as possible. Rasmus Anderson and Samira Lindström are great backups, though the latter provides less ariel ability and more tenacity. The fullback positions are quite full of talented attacking minded players, with Adler and Söderström getting the nods at their respective positions. Freitag on the right side can come in and provide a bit more defensive muscle if needed, though being part of United he is also not afraid to get forward and support the attack when it is prudent to.

Midfielders
AML/ST: Lucas Winkel, age 32, Stein-los Turkish Image
LW: Anke Waechter, age 32, Latrobe Athletic Image (F)
LW/ST: Linus Sollien, age 28, Jaglan Royals Image
D/MC: Olaf Myrhe, age 25, Soldarian FC
D/MC: Ylva Stjern, age 28, CF Outineau Image (F)
MC: Julia Strömberg, age 32, Hondo FC (F)
MC: Carissa Mercado, age 31, FC Capri (F)
MC: Zack Sjöberg, age 25, CA Paulinthal Image
AMC/ST: Laborious Hawk, age 767, Myana Image
A/MC: Markus Jaeger, age 25, Mar Sara FC
A/MC: Juan José Zapata, age 28, Hondo FC
L/RW: Aya Haukås, age 28, CA Paulinthal Image (F)
AMR/ST: Lina Gården, age 28, Strathcona Internationals Image (F)
RW: Rebekka Kajsdóttir Image, age 27, Mar Sara FC (F)

Few words can truly encapsulate the sheer amount of skill and drive that Laborious Hawk provides in the middle of the park and with the change in formation, he will likely shift to being more of a shadow striker sort of position rather than a facilitator. Veteran center midfielder Julia Strömberg will look to take up the mantle of playmaker in the middle, a role she is quite accustomed to with her coming through and playing for Hondo and their more offensive outlook even among Vanorian clubs. After a few stellar showings, Myrhe and his impressive six foot six stature will play the role of destroyer and screen the defense when needed to. With Holt no longer a part of the squad, the team will now lean on Winkel but it is going from strength to strength as the pool is extremely deep on the left. The Kelssek league has proven good proving grounds for Vanorians on the wing with both Anke Waechter on the left and Lina Gården on the right using the league's high reputation and good performances within it to make the team even if they are not expected to start.

Forwards
ST: Imre Haaland, age 28, Stein-los Turkish Image
ST: Klara Holmberg, age 32, Megabrantid Image (F)
ST/AMC: Julia Hahn, age 32, Hondo FC (F)
AMLC/ST: Caspian Garberg, age 28, Latrobe Athletic Image
ST: Aurora Nilsen, age 28, Langlois Océanic Image (F)

Haaland's time is now, several seasons tearing it up with Turkish with two SuperLiga titles to his name with as many golden boots and it's clear that Juavi was never going to be enough for the lad. Strong enough to hold off the more physical defenders, fast enough to get behind them, and with a good nose for goal that has developed from a young age. While no means a dominant striker in any one area, his collective game is hard to beat and will make him a force to reckon at the head of the Marauders' attack and affords Millet flexibility in her approach game to game. Holmberg will be off the bench for someone with a bit more pace and the experience that she can bring to a game. Hahn and Garberg are like Haaland and have a bit more a well rounded game, both able to play further back if needed, Garberg using the reputation increase from Kelssek's league growth and his own decent scoring record for Latrobe to earn the callup.

Tactics
Image

Elizidan is a manager who has the same sort of outlook as a traditional Vanorian might have in the game, looking to be on the front foot with a domination of the middle of the park and possession. The team is expected to have quite a bit of pace to be able to press the opposition, get back in defensive cover, and able to spring forward with lethality on a counter attack when the situation calls for it. Though the team does not return to a two striker system, there is a feel that the team will more easily settle into her version of a 4-5-1 than what they had been asked to under Millet.

(1) Stadio Fotellis
Home to multi-time Alpha League champions Valletta FC, this ground often doesn't get the respect it deserves - much like Malta itself is lesser thought of within Vdara - until now! One lucky team has earned the right to be the first international team to grace the Stadio Fotellis - is it yours?

MD4: Vdara vs Solgavden

(2) VdarArena
Just like Irn Bru, the original and best - and also the largest. Matches against Gnejs, Drawkland, Bostopia, and Sarzonia will take place here, in the Vdaran capital of Chania. Expect a raucous atmosphere from some of the nation's most dedicated football fans.

Bio
Where is Vdara? What is Vdara? Who are Vdara? Is it a state? It’s a state of mind, that’s for sure. Established during the times of Ancient Greek colonisation, the first Vdaran settlement was in the modern day capital city of Chania, where a valiant crew had stumbled upon after setting off from Athens, and decided to settle down. This settlement evolved into a city, and this city decided to set up its own settlements, spreading Vdaran culture and ideals across many of the Mediterranean islands, creating their own archipelago. The Vdaran archipelago would go on to change hands several times over the next few millennia, being held by the Turks, Venetians, and Greeks - to name just a few. Fast forward to the present, and now you have a gyro-eating, sports-loving nation with a people who are dedicated to following Vdaran football loudly and proudly. They’ve seen the highs, and they’ve seen the lows, and they’ll now see the present. Fiercely committed to defending their honour, every single Vdaran - from the players, to the coaches, to the ordinary man or woman chilling on their couch, shouting at their television - will be readily available to convince people that, no, Vdara are not has-beans. They’re the real deal.

Do what you want. In fact, do your worst. Hurt my players. Send them to hell. I will bring them back. Send my players off - I have others. Suspend my entire team - we will bribe the referees. In fact, I encourage anyone to bribe referees against us - because they need the money.
(oh, and pick whoever you want to score goals. we’ve got plenty of players, so we’re bound to make some substitutions here and there.)
Come for the weather. Stay for the fitba. Leave for somewhere prettier.

Tactics
Formation: 4-3-3
Style Mod: +2.5
In attack, Darmen will employ one of two tactics: the first involves the team playing down the flanks while the second is a possession oriented short-range passing style that closely resembles tiki-taka. The later tactic is normally only employed against weaker opponents or when Darmen has a multi-goal lead and involves connecting many passes together to slowly advance the ball towards the opponents 18-yard box. It is not uncommon for 30+ passes to be completed in the sequence, especially against weaker opponents.

Darmen's primary tactic however is a heavy emphasis on flank play, with the wide midfielders (also referred to as flankers in Darmen) being the linchpin of Darmen's attack. Upon gaining possession, Darmen will look to distribute the ball to one of the two wide midfielders as quickly as possible. After receiving the ball, the wide midfielders will look to advance the ball as far down the flanks as quickly as possible. Meanwhile, the forwards and the central midfielders will crash the box, hoping to be on the receiving end of the wide midfielder's cross. The wide midfielder (or sometimes even the fullback) on the opposite flank will linger behind waiting to collect the cross should it overshoot the box. While scoring via headers is the primary goal, a player may also look to score by volleying or half-volleying the ball if they're in open space. Should the first attempt at goal not be collected by the goalkeeper, Darmenis are more than willing to take advantage of the ensuing chaos in the box and poach a goal as well. If the wide midfielder's path forward down the flank is blocked, they are not averse to cutting inside and taking a shot on goal themselves.

Defensively, the defenders have one job... to defend. They rarely venture out of their own half, but if they do it will only be one of the fullbacks (see above). Darmen will employ zonal marking when facing the counter-attack and man marking in all other situations.

Team Roles
Captain: James January
Vice-Captain: Markus Thomasson
Left Corner: Amias Shelby
Right Corner: Kara Falkner
Penalties: James January
Free-kicks: Dwayne Loritz

Team Personality
The Darmeni team will never argue with the referee. Indeed, if anything needs to be brought to the attention of the referee it will be done by either the Captain or Vice-Captain in a respectful manner (or to the fourth-official by the Manager). With regards to foul/dirty play, the Darmeni team will not provoke, or retaliate against any opposition player. Darmeni's expect each team to keep to itself and deal with its own trouble makers; any opposition player who attempts to prevent a conflict by pushing or pulling a Darmeni away from the scene will be promptly told off, as that is the duty of the Darmeni Captain.

Nonetheless, Darmen will play in a relatively aggressive manner. Tackles will be conducted in a way which ensures the opponent ends up on the ground, but causing injury will be avoided as much as possible. On set pieces, Darmenis will stand their ground and will not be easily pushed around. However, they will not engage in hugging. In fact, if any opposing player tries to push past them, it is not uncommon for the Darmeni player to feign resistance before simply stepping aside and watching as the opposing player stumbles past on their way to ground. This occasionally backfires however, as the referee may mistake the incidence as having been a foul in the box.

TEAM HISTORY
After the long Elite Eleven era, the "real" form of the Kick Corps is back. These players are elite athletes who've been plying their trade in the DLK and abroad for the past few years. Now that the national team is back to normal, they finally have a chance to don the black and red and compete for their nation. A few familiar faces, freshened by the gift of immortality, have returned. That return hasn't gone great for them or the Corps at large, with now 2 manager firings in the 5 cycles. After an IAC QF loss in her first foray, manager Diana Levitt looks to break the inexplicable failure of the Kick Corps in recently qualifying attempts.
Drawkian soccer, and indeed, sporting in general, is mostly offensive-minded. This is reflected in the style indicator and in the formation. Drawkian soccer has not really been exposed to outside influences, and thus may look or feel strange to those used to "normal" football. Nevertheless, the players are still good at what they do, and prize in an enduring game, moving the ball around nearly constantly and keeping energy going, aiming to tire out the opposing team. Of course, Drawkians aren't humans, but you can read about that elsewhere. Drawkian Soccer is a female-only sport. This is because Gridiron Football is all-male, and the other two major sports, Baseball and Basketball, are mixed-gender. If there's anything a Drawkian loves, it's even formats and symmetric paradigms, hence why things shook out like they did.

As far as these go, I'm fair game for anything. You should know what is and isn't drastic RP, and if you think your RP is on the drastic side, TG me first. But I'm still basically up for anything.
I'd like to request that injuries or cards don't do anything outside of the scope of a single game or maybe 2. Don't want anything tournament or cycle-ending.

Tactics

The Kandorese national team employs an adaptive 4-3-3 formation with a focus on total football, a fluid and highly pressing idea to keep the pace of the game as high as possible. First employed by Kaya Michiyu and now picked up by Kuroda, the team focuses on high mobility, versatility and collective teamwork, with players interchanging roles to maintain attacking momentum and defensive sturdiness. The midfield serves as both a backline and attacking force, feeding the ball towards the opposing goal. Noteworthy is the attacking prowess looking to play with precise passing and quick counterattacking play. While box-to-box play is the norm, the team does not shy away from overhead long balls and solo runs to bring the pressure towards the opponent. The three forwards, while not explicitly strikers, can all act as strikers if needed and are always looking to exploit any space they can find – all acting as target players when able to. The fullbacks, while defensive, can act as supportive wingers, pressing the attack even more, creating width and overlapping runs to press the play towards the opposing side, while the centre-backs maintain a high defensive line to compress the spaces and create offside traps to ensure total control of the field and play, supported by the midfield to anchor the defence towards halfway of the field. The focus of the Kandorese team lies in high-pressure play, offside traps, and control of the game as a whole; it aims to suffocate opponents, forcing high up-pitch mistakes when out of possession, and regaining possession whenever possible. Possession is maintained through quick, precise passing and short runs, a dynamic approach to overwhelm opponents and create as many chances as possible.
══════════════════════════════
Home Stadium

The Empress Masumi National Stadium lies in the heart of Tenkyo and is named after the first new monarch of the Kandorese nation. The stadium stands as a beacon of sporting culture, pride, and national identity. The 90,000 seat venue is a combination of technological advancement, cutting edge design, materials, and cultural heritage. The elegant design is based on the national flower of Kandorith, the lotus, and stands as a stark contrast between the skyscrapers of modern Tenkyo. The stadium is home to the domestic team FC Tenkyo and hosts all of the national team's matches whenever able. Next to football games, the stadium hosts a plethora of concerts, cultural festivals, national ceremonies, and even large scale markets and events. The stadium serves as a symbol of new-found hope and unity for the Kandorese nation, and is a statement of the nation as a whole and its national identity.

KATZEBURGIAN NATIONAL TEAM

The Blue Cats

Style Modifier: +3

Image

The Blue Cats are the national representatives of Katzeburg, which are entering their third World Cup cycle after their first ever international competition with BOF 84. The team is nicknamed after an incredibly rare breed of the country's national animal, the cat, which was long-rumored to exist in small numbers in the Campbellnia National Park along the country's north-east coast. While Katzeburg is a young nation, football has solidified its place as the most popular sport in the nation, thanks in no small part to the heroics of the national team on the multiversal stage. Initial hotspots of the sport were in the more industrial north of the nation, encompassing the nation's central capital Katzestadt, the heavy industrial port city of Inverhaven, and the north-eastern logging city of Axmund, but the growing status of the game's popularity has seen teams from all across the country sprout up in recent years, as seen by the ever-growing number of teams entering the Katzeburgian Cup, the nation's domestic cup competition.

The national team's first ever manager Becka Haberkorn leads the nation into her third cycle as manager, following another contract extension which will see her through as manager until at least the end of the WC100 cycle. Haberkorn was originally appointed following a handful of successful seasons overseeing an Inverhaven local side, before guiding the side to the final four of the Baptism of Fire in its first ever international competition, losing out to eventual champions Edsmontik in the semi-finals, and a respectable fifth place finish in their World Cup 97 Qualifying Group despite a late cycle fade away from the qualification spots. In her second cycle in charge, she took the side even further - securing a playoff spot through the qualifiers before shocking the world with a playoff win over Reçueçn to send the Blue Cats through to their first ever World Cup. The side would perform admirably in the Xandrian Sea, finishing third in their group with two draws and a loss to eventual runners-up Crpostran.

Leading the side on the field will be Katzestadt AFC keeper Ry Whinery, who has been one of a number of regulars permeating through the starting lineup over the first two cycles. Other ever presents include her domestic teammate Serena Plank, who has played in every single national team match to date, as well as the national hero Drake Wruck, who retains his spot in the squad after helping guide Katzestadt Rovers to their first ever domestic league title. Wruck has been a goalscoring machine for the Blue Cats, netting 59 times across his 65 caps for the nation and is the top scorer for Katzeburg in both World Cup Qualifiers (28) and the World Cup itself (3).

Axmund City midfielder Elmer Spears is one of the nation's brightest young talents, and at just the age of 19 he has secured 59 caps for the nation, showing a maturity and skill well beyond his years which has proven vital to the team's rise up the rankings over the last two cycles.

The Katzeburgian National League is the top flight of Katzeburgian football, encompassing 16 teams across North Katzeburg following the addition of Coalbrook Athletic and Windorf Town at the start of its third season. Katzeburgian clubs are rapidly growing in interest as a result of the national team's success, with a growing coefficent and funds being unlocked for further stadium and game development. In the most recent IFCF cycle, Katzestadt played host to two multiversal finals, with Katzestadt Arena hosting the Associations Trophy final and Bramblewood Park hosting the CEdC final. The sport is also growing on the field as well, with consistent performances and deep runs in multiversal competition, including Katzestadt AFC - two time winners of the KNL - claiming the nation's first ever international trophy with success in the Associations Trophy in recent seasons.

The league is currently a separate entity from the national football federation, the KFF - a divide which has caused no lack of controversy to date. The previous chairman of the KFF, Brendan Kerr, was infamously forced to step down from his role during the last World Cup cycle after it emerged he was leveraging his position as an MP to try and force the developing North Katzeburgian Railway to avoid the towns of Windorf and Coalbrook should they look to enter a team in the national league. He was replaced by Sebastian Hawthorn heading into the last cycle, with the former high ranking judge on the Katzeburgian circuit helping solidify the groundwork for the national setup to expand beyond the main national team, and utilise government funding to bring large scale expansions of grounds and grassroots football in the nation. As a result, the KFF have quietly faded from view, although there is an expectation with the nation heading to an election, both Hawthorn and former chairman Kerr may come up in the media cycle.

For those visiting Katzeburg for the first time, they will get to experience a welcoming island nation based in the region of Esportiva that is growing on the international stage. Unfortunately, the nation's infrastructure is still growing as well, meaning visitors heading to the nation for the qualifiers may only be able to see a small part of it unless they wish to go very far out of their way. Visitors of all types are welcome to visit Katzeburg, with strong laws in support of LGBTQ+ rights and a multicultural makeup. Travellers who do not often get on the beers may find local customs a little challenging, as the average Katzeburgian loves to put down a few no matter the occasion - this is particularly evident during sporting matches, where alcohol consumption is generally an expectation for those watching, but Katzeburgians do appreciate that those who can't have a few are also more than welcome and there is no pressure put on visiting tourists to participate.

Only one stadium has been granted the privilege of hosting national matches for the upcoming cycle, the national stadium and home ground of reigning Katzeburgian National League champions Katzestadt AFC, the Katzestadt Arena. Based on the edge of the nation's capital, the Arena has a capacity of 30,000 - recently expanded to meet regulations for IFCF events, but still small for many nations the side will be competing against. Expect a passionate and surrounding crowd atmosphere for home games, with local fans often creating a "moth trapped in a bath" atmosphere of chaos and confusion while remaining respectful, a clash of emotions which can throw off travelling teams.

Visitors to the nation will land at Katzestadt's International Airport just to the east of the main city - the only international airport in the country. A free and quick public shuttle service runs travellers from the airport to the city centre and financial district on a regular 15-minute basis, with Katzestadt Central Station allowing trips via train to the remainder of North Katzeburg, including Inverhaven and Axmund. South lies the affluent town of Barenwold and a wide range of agricultural heartlands, with the next major city to the south being Deerhaven, sitting on the southern coast of the nation. Travelers going east will find the rich forests of the Campbellnia National Park, while those going west are likely to see Mount Mercer - the largest peak in the nation and where the country's winter sports are based - or the city of Waldstein, which has quickly been regarded as the national hotspot for the country's motorsports thanks in part to it being the hometown of WGPC rookie Ron Sommer.

Of interest to travelers may also be the small island of Dragoonspiel up in the north west of the country - now famed as the stomping grounds of the Ynsygard Chess Club, champions of Elephant Chess Cup X and XI, and the most notable thing to come out of the island since its local 'delicacy' baked fish pie.

Curb Your Enthusiasm? Katzeburg downplay hopes of successive World Cup qualification

By Otis Huffman, KBC

A maiden World Cup appearance is a hard act to follow, but as the Blue Cats announce their national pool and squad for the opening matchdays of the World Cup Qualifiers for cycle 99, expectations from fans are high that the side can return to the promised land of a second-straight appearance in the grandest event of all.

Manager Becka Haberkorn has however downplayed suggestions that the side will be expecting a quick return to the finals, despite picking an initial squad which reflects the side's lineup for World Cup 98 and their run to the semi finals of Campionato Esportiva 40.

Katzestadt AFC keeper Ry Whinery again leads the side from the goals, while Katzeburgian legend Drake Wruck retains his place in the starting XI after a successful season domestically guiding Katzestadt Rovers to their first ever league title. But there is some wind of change within the squad, as Haberkorn has opted to drop long-standing starters Deena Knepp (Axmund City) and Katharine Howland (Barenwold FC) out of the team after both players had weaker domestic seasons. Both remain in the squad, but have seen their spots go to fringe regulars Laurence Herman (Katzestadt AFC) and Elicia Morton (Katzestadt Rovers) for the opening clashes at Burikinia and against Ralsalin.

Only three uncapped players have made the first squad for the qualifiers, with keeper Julianne Spooner rewarded after a great season between the sticks at Katzestadt Rovers, Ezekiel Hodges offered a chance to show what he can do after helping revive Inverhaven City domestically, and 27-year-old Denny Hobbs being the biggest bolter in the squad, the former Shorham striker given a call up after a brilliant season for Malabon SC over in Abanhfleft, netting more than 20 goals for the side.

With the domestic league expanding to 16 teams over the previous season, this widening of the player base has seen a slight shift in callups within the wider 40-person pool. Only two domestic sides - Blubeck FC and Coalbrook Athletic - don't have anyone within the national setup currently, with Avonsend's Gwen Sessions rewarded for a breakout season with a spot in the national pool in what is a first for the club. Data analysis from KBC shows that the sides dominating the KNL - the Katzestadt teams - make up the bulk of callups, with the majority of those included within the pool from those two sides also making it into the first matchday squad. Elsewhere there's been a big fall-off from Refeld representation, with just a single player, Callan Everill, named in the 40-person pool.

At the team announcement for the first two matchdays, manager Becka Haberkorn said the side was just happy to give the supporters something to dream of.

"I think it's fair to say we did amazingly last cycle and brought many happy memories to the nation and this squad," Haberkorn said. "Coming back into qualifiers now is a very weird position for us to be in, especially given we were named the top ranked side of Pot 4 - the first teams who generally miss out on a World Cup spot.

"It's going to be another big ask to see us through to the World Cup, but I'm confident the squad we've pulled together with its mix of experience and youth on the multiversal scene, can make us all proud. It's going to be a really tough fight to get in, especially given we will be due a rematch or two with Reçueçn who won't be happy to see us after sending them packing in the playoffs last time around, but with three spots anything is possible. We just hope it's not as chaotic as our group last time around!"

Katzeburg kick off their qualification campaign with an away trip to world number 195 Burikinia before hosting Ralsalin in the first home game of the cycle at Katzestadt Arena.

For opponents: Dieumerci Pourrien is likely to be a focal point of some RP this cycle, so will feature often, whether as a starter or off the bench. He's probably actually the best player in the squad, despite his youth, so feel free to highlight him more than you'd normally bother with for a "bench player". The arc of this cycle will likely focus on him reconnecting with his roots, and learning more about the history of the Cobre nation, so also feel free to RP him being a bit of a dick.

Cobrio National Football Team

ABOUT

Nickname: The Panthers
Manager: Marvelous Koleoso
Captain: Bérénice Quraishi
Style of Play: Aggressive, "unshackled" football (Mod: +2)

The Cobrio national football team is operated under the auspices of the Cobre Football Federation (CFF), to represent the Independent State of Cobrio in international competition. While the team has existed in some form for around a century at this point -- it was formed during the 2220s while Cobrio sought to gain independence from Osarius, only participating in friendly tournaments and the Rabastor Unity Trophy originally. The team's first game after official World Cup Committee recognition was a 3-3 draw against Osarius at Tukari Kaita National Stadium -- a newly built stadium near Camaron, the official capital of Cobrio. This stadium also serves as the home venue for the national team.

The Panthers -- as the team is most commonly referred to -- made their debut in World Cup Committee sanctioned competition at Baptism of Fire 68, which they won. Success has since evaded them on the world stage, however. Regional success has also not been forthcoming, with infrequent participation in the CAFA Cup -- and before that, the AOCAF Cup -- though multiple wins at the Rabastor Unity Trophy, as well as other invitational tournaments, have established Cobrio as a strong footballing nation within the Rabastorian Union at least. Arguably the strongest, in fact.

Cobre culture -- being revolutionary in nature, and utterly committed to being noticeably Cobre, even when it might be considered a disadvantage -- is reflected in the way the nation approaches football. Perhaps the most famous Cobre footballer of all-time -- not counting Osarians of Cobre descent, like Jermain Lewis -- is Babatunde Warrington. A polarising figure in his day, who still holds significant influence over Cobre football culture, now being seen as a cultural revolutionary, who refused to conform to "ugwu" expectations. His defiant nature is considered to be the spark which ultimately led to Cobre football recognising and developing its own identity, apart from that of the former colonisers.

It is perhaps of particular note that the nation of Cobrio has access to, and mastery of, some post-modern/future tech. Not quite interstellar travel level of future tech, but concepts like full-brain emulation and near-universal healing methodology are very much real things in 24th-century Cobrio. Basically, if it exists in Wakanda, it probably exists in Cobrio or is achievable in the next half-century.

STADIUM
The Panthers play their home games at Tukari Kaita National Stadium, a 72,000 capacity bowl-style stadium situated on the outskirts of Camaron, the national capital. For competitions with requirements for stadia to be all-seaters, the capacity is reduced to 58,000.

The stadium incorporates an athletics track around the pitch, which, in combination with the lack of a roof, some have claimed inhibits the generation of a good atmosphere. However, fans are encouraged to bring instruments to matches, and can often be found performing lively song and dance routines.

Camaron itself is also home to the Oya Ounje -- a massive open-air market situated on the former grounds of the Palazzo Malamocco (once home to an Osarian noble, before Cobre liberation). The Oya Ounje is known for its food offerings in particular, and is a common tourist destination.

KITS
The Cobrio kits are provided by ediraf and designed to represent the nation's deep cultural heritage. The home kits are primarily gold, but incorporate the adinkra -- traditional Cobre symbols said to confer various qualities upon the wearer -- and the other colours of the national flag (green and black).

The away kits are designed in a similar fashion to the traditional uniform of initiates to the zabamince wadanda, in recognition of the honour of being selected. They are almost all black, which is said to represent the void one must embrace when entering battle. The adinkra also feature along the hem, to confer their power upon the wearer.

The goalkeeper kits are primarily green, to represent the land from which the team hails. Cobre culture exalts the land, as it is from the land that all nourishment comes, in some form or another. Traditional beliefs also state that Olugun, the Father of the Irunashe, created man from plant material in the beginning. As with the other kits, the adinkra also feature here, on the sleeves, as a goalkeeper's arms and hands are considered most important.

PLAYING STYLE
Under head coach Marvelous Koleoso, Cobrio have morphed from a cautious "Osarian 4-3-3" (with a dedicated defensive midfielder) to an expansive, adventurous system that plays a high defensive line, and presses aggressively. This has resulted in a far more entertaining spectacle for fans, and has, as a result, seen the popularity of the sport recover to near pre-war levels. It comes with an inherent risk in the defensive phase, but it's generally seen as "worth it".

After more than a decade in the role, Koleoso's overarching philosophy of "unshackled football" has permeated Cobre football culture and precipitated something of a metamorphosis in the national football identity, in line with a greater emphasis within the zeitgeist of embracing Cobre uniqueness. Now the Panthers are a tactically flexible team, with a much lower reliance on athleticism than in previous years, and a distinct way of playing that doesn't really resemble any other team in the multiverse. This desire to live and die (or win and lose, more specifically) on their own terms has also fuelled a noticeable change in the support for the national team. Defeats are much less harshly criticised as long as fans feel that the team "showed who they are" by remaining unmistakeably Cobre.

PERSONNEL

Manager
Marvelous Koleoso
Koleoso has throughout his career, often been dismissed as having his head in the clouds, but he is, in fact, an extremely insightful manager. While the criticisms are not entirely baseless -- he does have lofty ideals for what he considers "proper Cobre football" -- he is nevertheless capable of providing his teams with the tools needed to succeed. Much like other well-regarded Cobre coaches such as Emeka Obasi, or Daniel Kunde, Koleoso's strengths lie in organisation and man-management. Consistently, throughout his career, he has extracted performances from his teams far exceeding the sum of their parts, by effectively organising them to utilise their individual strengths in the best possible way. Often, this has involved unorthodox methods, but he has an uncanny ability to achieve high levels of buy-in from players, even those most would consider to be "difficult" to manage in some way.

Most Cobre coaches are neutral, or perhaps a little reactive by nature, tending toward a cautious offense built on a well-organised defence... Koleoso disregards that and goes for a proactive, entertaining approach above all else. "Football is entertainment first," he says. "Of course we are coming to win, but winning without the cheering of the crowd for what you do on the pitch... this is not victory, na." As a result, these new Panthers take more risks than previous iterations. Narrowly missing out on World Cup qualification last time around, and dramatically outperforming expectations, the Panthers may not be as successful taking so many risks this campaign. More teams will be aware of their threat, and thus, ready for them. But do not expect Koleoso to back down. He will almost certainly remain resolute in his commitment to his playing philosophy regardless of outcome.

One downside, however, is that his system places high demands on his players, and some have blamed this for the Cobre collapse at the end of qualifying last campaign, and ultimately missing out on qualification to the World Cup proper. Despite this, after the "crucible" of the last campaign, Koleoso firmly believes the best possible team has largely been forged, with little to no change in personnel required. The callups of two players outside the Rabastorian league are a slight deviation from his principles, but very much in line with his overall philosophy, because they are what he calls "unchained souls" -- in that they have never conformed to the restrictions modern football academies tend to place on players. The two represent opposite ends in some ways, of the spectrum of technical progression outlined within Koleoso's philosophy.

In Pourrien's case, his unwavering self confidence and belief that he is a "transcendental talent" led him to often actively reject the advice of coaches in preference of his own instincts. As these instincts repeatedly yielded results, coaches found it difficult to manage him and steer him down a desired path. Koleoso refers to players in this mould as "butterflies", stating that they are distinctive, beautiful, and often popular among fans for these reasons... but this popularity is often a curse because such players are also fragile and easily "broken" by even a slightly too-heavy hand. Gwadabe on the other hand, simply does not fit the mould of the prototypical female forward in Akach, and as a result, lacked a real "framework" for her progression, meaning she developed "organically" within the Flames' youth sector. Koleoso players in this mould "kokoleda" (tr. "essence of the creator"), after the food commonly made from the fermented leaves of the "diallobu" (tr. "strength of all") plant in various areas of Akach and Cobrio. He explains them as being "resilient and stubborn", referring to their capacity to flourish in environments not best suited to them, but also sometimes a little overbearing in the way they stand out from the crowd, which often brings resentment.

Squad
NOTE: Higher squad numbers typically denote lower chances of being selected for any given match.

Current clubs are not listed, since the vast majority of the squad play in the Rabastor football pyramid, which has basically zero international presence these days. The two exceptions are Pourrien (who plays for Viathyn Park AFC in Tikariot) and Gwadabe (who is registered as a youth player with Dubisha Flames, in Akach). Everyone else you can just refer to as playing in "the combined Rabastorian Union league" if you feel a need to reference their current club. Feel free to speculate on transfers too. Basically everyone except the two aforementioned names is available for transfer.

Projected Starting Lineup:
[4-2-1-3] Musona; Nicholls, Iwuoma, Harper, Ntshona; Quraishi (c), Ekpo; Kasukuwere; Gilmore, Burke, Chilcott

NOTES: In games projected to be tougher (i.e. top 4 ranked teams in the group) expect Osundairo to replace Kasukuwere, alongside potential changes to increase the number of ball-winners on the pitch.

If Quraishi doesn't play, the captain's armband goes to the oldest player on the pitch (excluding the goalkeeper). If multiple players have the same listed age, it's your choice. I'll make it work.

With the number of older players in the squad (i.e. 30+ years old) there will probably be more rotation. Feel free to switch around a few players from the last game if you're not one of the group's top seeds.

RP Permissions:
Do whatever you like, except killing people (if you have a good idea, feel free to run it by me). Mostly, I just want this to be fun :)
I reserve the right to use "magical spine-healing technology" (looking at you, T'Challa) on my players if you injure someone I had plans for, though.
Finally free of the oppressive yoke of the Osarian Kingdom.

Mamiyin Okaita! Ipa'elu! Ija Tesiwaju! Unukobu Yoliso!
Praises and Strength to the Great Kaita! Rise Up! The Struggle Continues! Together, the People Will Win!

Check the phrasebook if something doesn't make sense.

Following our glorious victory in the last World Cup, we have made you all tremble before our collectivist might. You may as well submit to us now, before we eviscerate you capitalist pigdogs. No mercy!

State-Approved Biography

The People’s Democratic Republic of Vdaran Western Territories
, more commonly known as West Vdara, is a small group of islands located off the west coast of Africa. Having separated from the Republic of Vdara during a period of political turmoil for the ruling communist party (KKV), many of the nation’s important left-leaning figureheads fled to the newly-established nation to ensure the continuation of an ideal socialist paradise as Crete and Cyprus began to seek more moderate politics. Since then, West Vdara has enjoyed a period of relative peace and isolation, with neither the Republic nor the West seeking any form of immediate unification - in fact, quite the opposite, despite some attempts to mend and strengthen the ties between the two. The KKV have easily sustained political dominance in the country, having won every election since 1995, leading many to label West Vdara as a dictatorial, one-party state. Despite this, the KKV maintains that all elections are free and fair, decrying all doubters as ‘agents of Chania’ and preventing independent observers from keeping an eye on things.

State-Approved Geographic Info

There are seven islands that make up West Vdara:-

- Nifaria: With a population of just under a million, Nifaria is West Vdara's largest and most important island, with all government business going through the capital city of Agios Stavros. Mountainous and agricultural, Nifaria serves as the nation's main source of sustenance, with bananas and fish serving as crucial parts of the West Vdaran palate. Most footballers from the squad hail from this island.

- Kanaria: Slightly smaller in both population and landmass, Kanaria could just as easily be called "Nifaria's wee brother". The island nonetheless serves as West Vdara's industrial hub, with factories and ports across the island allowing it to be the nation's transport and export hub.

- Ploufialia: Small and agricultural, Ploufialia is mainly known for its vineyards more than anything else. This does, however, mean that West Vdaran wine is quite divine.

- Ombrion: A rather unassuming island, Ombrion is primarily known for its avocados and cattle - as well as its volcanic activity, making the soil extremely fertile and thus very suitable for agricultural usage.

- Tzounonia: Miniscule and boring. Let's move on [NOTHING SECRET IS OCCURRING ON THIS ISLAND].

- Planasia: One of the larger islands by landmass (but not by population), Planasia's size and lack of population allows for it to be used as West Vdara's dairy and cereals capital, with nationalised cheeses and grains making their way to the rest of the islands from the various farms and mills.

- Kapraria: Tiny and forested, not much goes on here either, so long as you don't look in the- [NOTHING SECRET IS OCCURRING ON THIS ISLAND]

State-Approved Stadium

All home matches will be played at West Vdara’s state of the art Grand Amphitheater of the Proletariat, or the GAP for short. Some scumbag capitalists may refer to it as outdated and crumbling, but they are mere pigdogs who hate to see such great collectivised success. It holds as many people as required, and away fans must go through a simple process involving the submission of thirty-two different documents, a pledge not to commit espionage, and the surrender of all foreign currency. (OOC: this means we’re not letting your fans in. okay, maybe two.)

State-Appointed and Approved Staff

The government of the Vdaran Western Territories has made sure to appoint the best person from the job: Ivanis Grigorelis. Born on Tzounonia in 1972, Ivanis' humble upbringing and his parents' connections to the state allowed him to seamlessly rise through the ranks. Additionally, having been a long-time neighbour of the Minister for Sport, Culture, and Nationhood, it was inevitable that he would be given some form of government position - so why not management, one of the highest honours of them all? Furthermore, Mr. Grigorelis will be assisted by several men in immaculate suits and sunglasses, who we can call [REDACTED], but who you can call 'tactical analysts'. You will find yourself getting rather familiar with these ‘technical analysts’, and we are compelled to inform you about their expertise in classical martial arts.

State-Approved Permissions
