Citing media reports, attorneys for Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a Salvadoran man wrongfully sent to the CECOT whose case is discussed below, described conditions in the mega-prison:

Each of the 256 cells is intended to hold approximately 80 inmates but often holds nearly double. The cramped cells are equipped with tiered metal bunks without mattresses, two basins for washing, and two open toilets. There are no windows, fans, or air conditioning, despite the region’s warm and humid climate.

Inmates in CECOT are confined to their cells for 23.5 hours daily and cannot go outdoors. They are denied access to reading materials, including even letters from friends or family. Inmates are prohibited from receiving visits from family and friends. Meals are provided through the bars, and the facility enforces strict regulations to maintain order.

Any way, they caught the guy who set fire to Shapiro's house
“Never believe that [fascists] are completely unaware of the absurdity of their replies. They know that their remarks are frivolous, open to challenge. But they are amusing themselves, for it is their adversary who is obliged to use words responsibly, since he believes in words. The [fascists] have the right to play. They even like to play with discourse for, by giving ridiculous reasons, they discredit the seriousness of their interlocutors. They delight in acting in bad faith, since they seek not to persuade by sound argument but to intimidate and disconcert. Cody Balmer, 38, of Harrisburg. Not much more info than that.

Ehhh?…..unless something changed…that’s not true. The PSP does not collaborate with the NSA. They work with federal agencies like the FBI through networks like CLEAN(Commonwealth Law Enforcement Assistance Network) which allows access to databases like the FBI’s National Crime Information Center. Elizabeth Warren…love her or hate her….she has summed up the tariff wars.

Appearing on CNN’s “State of the Union,” Massachusetts Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren described the confusion about shifting tariff rates and how smartphones and computers were spared from reciprocal tariffs as “chaos and corruption.”

“Investors will not invest in the United States when Donald Trump is playing ‘red light, green light’ with tariffs and saying, ‘Oh, and for my special donors, you get a special exemption,’” Warren said.

Analysts at Wedbush Securities on Saturday had called the tariff exemptions on electronics “the best news possible for tech investors” and that “firms like Apple, Nvidia, Microsoft and the broader tech industry can breathe a huge sigh of relief this weekend into Monday.”

Especially when there is public websites that uses the GTD.It agrees with Gravlen that 2015 was zero at least on deaths.

Gravlen's own sources don't agree with him.

They do. You might notice that 2015 and 2016 are two different numbers.

Dtn wrote:The 2016 Global Terrorism Index says "In 2015 Denmark, France, Germany, Sweden and Turkey recorded the most deaths from terrorism in a single year since 2000" on page 17.

That wasn't my source, mind. My source was Europol.

But good, let's talk about the 2016 Global Terrorism Index, because what it says about 2015 is interesting:

Like Belgium, Germany has not had a history of high levels of terrorism in the last two decades. 2015 was the first year since 2007 that Germany experienced a death from terrorism.
There were three fatal terrorist attacks in 2015 which killed six people. Two of these attacks targeted refugee shelters or buildings with fire, killing five people.

So using this definition of terrorism, the majority of deaths and attacks come from terrorism directed at asylum seekers and refugees. Which again shows the problems with your cute graphs, and belies the conclusion in your original claim that the influx of asylum seekers from certain countries leads to a higher risk of terrorism.

When more foreigners go to Germany, regardless of country of origin, the danger of terrorism against them increases. Which is not to say that they are the cause of it. That has to be placed at the feet of the anti-immigrant groups and people responsible for the attacks.

And those people are natural born citizens, so immigration as a whole probably does increase the risk of terrorism from this segment. However, fear of terrorism from citizens against immigrants is not a good argument against immigration.

Dtn wrote:
Gravlen wrote:Meanwhile, on the Global Terrorism Index 2015:
Of the ten countries which host the most refugees only one country, Pakistan, had among the highest levels of terrorism. Turkey, Lebanon and Iran are all impacted by regional conflict and yet had fewer terrorismrelated fatalities than many countries which do not host large numbers of refugees. Germany, the country with the second largest refugee intake in Europe, has not had a death from terrorism since 2007.

This is from a page discussing 2014.

That is true, but it's directly adressing your claim concerning correlation, so I figured it would be interesting.

Dtn wrote:
Gravlen wrote:

If people don't bother reading their own sources I'm not going to spend an hour uploading PDFs and spreadsheets for mine, sorry. JSTOR only costs $19.50 a month.

Save your excuses, it's not like you were ever going to provide sources under any circumstances.

Doesn't that fly in the face of your previous assertions that the courts will hold it together and not allow the administration to destroy the democratic and constitutional safeguards?
