I never said Puerto Ricans were bad people. I commented on the perennial financial crisis that Puerto Rico is facing (reason why many are pushing for statehood rather than stay on your amazing status quo) and on the eloquent Trumpist comments about the island. Please, do learn how to read.

Don't forget that while they do technically have representatives, said reps can't actually vote on anything.

That's America for you - taxation with no real representation - meanwhile Greenlandians have their own parliament and can also vote for the Danish parliament, where they have equal representation and even a proportional voting system unlike in the US, which is barely democratic due to Gerrymandering

The reality is that a US rule in Greenland would mean far more disadvantages than staying in Denmark - Danish wages are comparable to the American wages, they have free public healthcare, better working conditions, paid leave, excellent welfare programs, free university and no book bans PLUS access to the EU internal market and various other markets that have a free trade agreement with the EU, a democratic voting system, representation and real autonomy.

But even suggesting to take over Greenland is the same level of immoral imperialism like Russia's takeover of Crimea - though I guess I'm not surprised, given Trump's sympathy for Russia. The new US foreign policy is peace with dictatorships and war with democracies and allies The only ones profiting from this are China, Russia and Iran...

Puerto Rico has a higher GDP than x number of Hispanic nations. I think Puerto Rico can be and should be an independent nation. With ecconomic ties to the Hispanic and Latin Brazil economic union. I have the nation of NS San Juan Puerto Rico, by coincidence, The Presidenta of NS San Juan Puerto Rico is Jenniffer González-Colón with her Pic.

But Puerto Rico's Governor elections can be won by a plurality of the votes. The recent current Governor of Puerto Rico is, Jenniffer González-Colón, who won 41.22% of the vote against an Independence candidate with 30.81 % of the vote. By 10.41 %. She is from the Pro Republicans, center right New Progressive Party of Puerto Rico. a very badly named Political Party.

If Puerto Rico were to become a US state, they would probably be a Red state or at least a battle ground state.

They successfully occupied both, though. And most of the Canadian lives along the US border. It would be way easier to sustain a prolongued occupation, though the US proper would be more exposed to terrorism.

But anyway, the statements from Trump so far mention forcing the annexation of Canada through economic warfare, not an actual annexation.
