Fantastic Beasts and Where To Buy Them

Over the centuries, Allaneans have continually imported, transplanted, and even engineered new species of animals—using both science and magic—either to serve sapient-kind or to enrich ecosystems as deemed necessary.

In doing so, the Allaneans have firmly rejected the philosophical concept of 'animal rights' (as famously summarized by Bunny Burger Corporation’s motto: ‘animals have only one right—the right to be delicious’). Similarly, they have dismissed the idea of environmental conservation as an inherent good. In Allanean culture, nature is seen as having no intrinsic value and is preserved or altered purely based on practical need.

With the advent of Allanean space exploration, both public and private initiatives took root, focusing on seeding new worlds with animal species that settlers could later hunt. This philosophy was heavily influenced by thinkers like Raymond Drake-Tealy and Raymond Ardrey, and further bolstered by the entrepreneurial vision of William Curringer.

The outcome, and the focus of this page, is the creation of a vast infrastructure—both private and public—dedicated to the import, breeding, export, and sustainable management of a wide variety of mundane and magical creatures. This system has involved not only Allanea's allies and partners but even, on occasion, its adversaries.

Now, through the initiative "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Buy Them," a project of Allanean Defense Exports, some of these extraordinary creatures are being made available to you.

Background: The skeever (Gigantorattus Skeevera) is a unique, large rodent species native to the wilds of Alduinium. While some wild skeevers grow to enormous sizes, the ones offered here by the Frontier Fauna Foundation are selectively bred to reach the size of a large dog. These creatures have found their way to Allanea after several broods were covertly extracted from Alduinium by the Free Kingdom Armed Forces. Today, multiple private enterprises are engaged in breeding, training, and marketing these fascinating creatures.

You might be wondering, "What could I possibly do with a Skeever?" Let's explore their potential.

Farm Animal: First and foremost, skeevers can be raised for both meat and pelts. Much like their smaller rodent cousins, skeever meat is rich in nutrients and even helps combat scurvy. Their tails are considered a delicacy across several cultures, while other cuts are perfect for making savory jerky or delicious pies. Beyond their culinary value, skeever tails are prized in potion-making and other magical culinary arts.

Pet: Skeever lovers know that these creatures can make for charming, loyal pets—akin to rats, capybaras, and dogs. With proper training, skeevers can help guard your home, serve as playful companions, or even carry small items, making them a practical and endearing addition to any household.

Service Animal: Thanks to their impressive intelligence and sharp sense of smell, skeevers can be trained for a variety of service roles. From detecting landmines to locating injured individuals, carrying supplies, or aiding troops in confined environments, skeevers are highly versatile and well-adapted to underground operations. Moreover, skeevers can serve as assistance animals for individuals with disabilities, helping with daily tasks or carrying loads—an invaluable service in many contexts.

What We Offer: The Frontier Fauna Foundation provides two primary services to meet your needs. First, we offer the sale of individual skeevers, and if required, we can train them for specific tasks based on your preferences. Alternatively, we can help your organization establish its own skeever breeding and training facilities, ensuring you have the expertise needed to run these operations independently.

However, the core mission of the Foundation goes beyond mere sales and training. Our primary goal is to assist in the reintroduction of unique animal species into the wild. If your local government approves a program to release skeevers into the wild (or if such actions are otherwise permitted), we are fully equipped to support a comprehensive Skeever introduction program tailored to your environment.

Imerian Terror Goose (Anser Tyrannus)

Cost:
  • Egg: $50 New Dornalian
  • Gosling: $150 New Dornalian
  • Untrained Goose: $2,000 New Dornalian
  • Fully Trained Military Goose: $50,000 New Dornalian
  • Breeding program: $10-50 million New Dornalian

Background:
The Scanderan continent is not only home to the courageous and honorable Imerians but also to a diverse array of fauna, some sociable, others ferocious. Among them, the most renowned is the Anser Tyrannus, or terror goose. These massive geese have long served the Imerians as livestock, companions, and, most notably, as military assets. Thanks to a partnership between Allanean Defense Exports and the Imerian Royal Merchant Guild, these fearsome creatures are now available to international customers.

Life and Biology:
The Anser Tyrannus has a lifespan of approximately 10-15 years. Each breeding season, they can produce up to 10 eggs and mate for life. These formidable birds stand over 6 feet tall (1.8 meters or more) and boast an impressive wingspan of up to 4 meters.

Farming:
Similar to the common greylag goose (Anser anser), the Anser Tyrannus can be farmed for its meat. The taste and fat-to-meat ratio are comparable to that of regular geese, making them a viable option for culinary production.

Military Use:
Weighing in at over 50 kilograms, the Anser Tyrannus is a formidable creature on the battlefield. While primarily used as guard animals in Imerian and allied militaries—alerting forces with their thunderous honks—they can also be equipped with a specially designed muzzle known as a 'beaksword'. This attachment enhances the natural aggression of the terror goose, turning it into an even more effective defense asset.

Breeding Program:
For $10 million, our expert team will travel to your nation to establish a state-of-the-art Anser Tyrannus breeding facility. For an additional $50 million, we can also assist you in creating a comprehensive terror goose training program, enabling you to cultivate your own elite force of trained geese.
