An Overview of Opheros:

The Opheros Islands:
The Republic of Opheros was a small democratic nation located in the Pacific, being spread across the Itana archipelago. Known for its beautiful beaches and lavish resorts, it became a tourist hotspot alongside a playground for the wealthy. With expansive forests within the islands interiors alongside beautiful mountains known for their brilliant views and abandoned ruins. But this opulent façade was hiding the true importance and instability of Opheros, being located alongside several important trade routes. The Way Sun Cooperation, alongside a myriad of other nations, were fighting for influence over the Parliament. With nations funding different factions within the government, with the end goal of gaining complete control over Opheros.

The image of tranquilly that was hiding the instability of Opheros was shattered suddenly after a terrorist attack on their Parliament killed a majority of the government and the head of state, King Reginald IX. With the news of the attack triggering a wave of hysteria and unrest across the archipelago. With the cult of The Children of the Rising Dawn claiming responsibility for the attack, they further exploited the situation by declaring their holy crusade against the impure of Opheros. While the government was still reeling from the attack and the further declaration from the Children of the Rising Dawn, with the Peoples Army of Opheros declaring independence from Opheros.

With the Peoples Army of Opheros declaring independence, the last nail was put into the coffin for the Government of Opheros. Leaving the archipelago fractured. Leaving these newly formed nations fighting for complete control of the Itana Archipelago and its resources.

"The Peoples Army of Ophero rose up in across the city of Sago and its surrounding regions. With the regions wealth dying as the tourist industry became the primary focus of the government. The workers abandoned by there country for the bourgeoisie and the elite. The Peoples Army could not sit and watch as the Proletariat where oppressed by there government who swore to protect them. The city of Sago had became the mighty capital and hub of the communist revolution which would sweep across Opheros. Unifying the Proletariat under one banner... The 1st Guard Regiment was the first Regiment created by the Peoples Army, no longer a rough collection of militias but now a unified army. The soldiers of the 1st Guard Regiment where equipped with a selection of cold war weapons, the assortment filled the city square with noise and bodies. They where quickly clothed with the new PAO uniform, Before getting into the line of transport trucks heading for the front. While the ports where prepared for the arrival of fellow Comrades of the revolution from abroad, coming to fight against the Capitalist Scourge.

Votia was once the capital of Opheros, although it had been ripped apart by terrorist attacks and riots. This had left the old government no choice but to declare Martial Law with there last breathe before collapsing. The army and navy quickly moved to secure the area around the capital, sending troops to retrieve supplies and prepare for a counter attack to retake Opheros. Quickly after taking control they made contact with every ally they had left. Before sending out a general call for aid to all nations.

While in the MoD, The new Commander in Chief of the Miltary and now the defacto leader of the RFO. Began a conference with the other military regiments spread across Opheros, planning for the regrouping of all loyalist forces in order to plan more effectively for the upcoming blood bath, which would devesate Opheros.

The soldiers of the Children of the Rising Dawn had been equipped by some unknown foreign power, equipped well for what was just a cult in the middle of nowhere to a terror organisation which brought down a government. A single scout drone flew high above the Town of Hastock it was just 2 Kilometres from the proclaimed Holy City of Bayport now renamed to The Dawn. The drone observered a a column of these cultists began there assault on the town. Before the sun could rise again they retreated back to there holy city.

Leaving the town burned down and thousands dead, a message was broadcast across all frequency's and a selection of social media sites. "The Unpure have been cleansed, they have been saved."

[The Grand Economic Consortium]

Yokota Airbase, Japan

The blooming fields of Japan hosted a massive, multinational airbase. It was owned by the Japanese, but shared with the Americans, Central Europeans, Iberics, and the Consortians. The airbase was home to the 2nd Paratrooper Battalion, a rapid response force of TGEC which operated in the Far East and Pacific areas, the 54th Fighter Squadron, made of 12 5th generation JF-20As, the 3rd Airlift Squadron, made of 10 A400M Atlas strategic airlifters, which would handle the logistics of the Consortian forces and transport the paratroopers, the 6th UAV Squadron, composed of 20 MQ-9B UCAVs and 4 RQ-4 HALE surveillaince platforms. The last aerial contingent stationed at the base was the brand new 1st Unmanned Bomber Squadron, made of 12 UB-144 Unmanned Stealth Bombers. Today, more activity then usual could be seen on the base. The paratroopers were loading their vehicles onto the A400Ms and preparing to take off, while the UB-144s were already in the sky, circling around the base. All of this was in preparation for the intervention in Opheros.

On the Japanese coast, the Yokosuka naval base, also shared by Japan's Self Defense Force with TGEC, was also more active then usual. The 6th Marine Battalion, stationed on the base also as a rapid-response force, was boarding a Wasp-class LHD, an amphibious assault ship which would act as the headquarters of the Task Force. It was escorted by a FREMM-class frigate which had a CAPTAS 4 towed system combining low-frequency active sonar and passive array to detect submarines. Alongside the frigate sailed two Flight III Arleigh Burke class destroyers, mainly used for defensive and air-defense purposes. Hunting in the silence of the underwater medium was also a Block V Virginia-class submarine, carrying an immense payload of cruise missiles, anti-ship missiles and torpedoes. The fleet, carrying the marines, began sailing towards the Opheros islands. The aerial contingent would join them a bit later.

At the same time, SBIRS sattelites in orbit begin searching for infrared emissions from warships in Opheros waters. Once the IR emission sources are tagged by the sattelites, KENNEN sattelites equipped with high-resolution optical surveillaince equipment begin locking onto the tagged heat signatures. The lower IR emissions are left out, as enemy warships emit more IR radiation, normally. The KENNEN systems take pictures of the ships which emit the most heat in the Opheros sea, and transmit them to the headquarters of Consortian Naval Intelligence, a military facility near Portsmouth.

There, a machine learning model begins analyzing the images of the ships and starts separating the warships from the civilian ships based on their size, armament and superstructure organization. Once all of the Opheroan government's and other factions' warships have been confirmed and tagged by KENNEN sattelites, the machine learning model begins differentating between the different classes and types of Opheroan ships. This process takes some time, so, for now, all of the Opheroan ships will be sorted by class, analyzed and tagged, so that the next part of the operation can proceed. The actual bombing. Yet, for now, no shots are fired and no blood is shed, as the fleet sails towards its destination

The Dragon's response.

The Common Kingdom of Kasantia, after extensively analyzing the situation in Opheros decided that now was the right time for the pinnacle of the class struggle to unvail in the islands. The government immediately declared support for the fresh and brand new army of the Communist Party and in what could be considered a radical play in the international screen decided to form, for the first time since the Revolution formed the International Brigades, a Volunteer Force. It is estimated that the force will consist of 4 brigades with roughly 50.000 brave men and women, though some will act as reserves and the number could go even higher due to mass support for the decision from the liberated proletariat of the country. The Brigades shall be trained and lead by officers who have gained experience during the imperialist sponsored failed Melos Incident and Kasantia will oversee that they are fully supplied and prepared.

The Common Kingdom calls for all socialist free nations to support the initiative and coordinate with the Central Command of the International Brigades which will be assisting the Central Commitee of the Communist Party of Ophelios. Meanwhile, a lend lease act is under development and is being discussed by the Assembly and the King of the Night of Kasantia while also trying to come in conact with the leadership of the party to discuss short term and long term goals and overall learn more details about the situation.

It's been a quiet few months - the international arena has seen peace, for now. A new crisis has emerged in a tropical oasis of Opheros. A government in turmoil as factions rise, each wanting to assume control. The Federation's interests were in stabilizing the once ruling government, naturally with it's Bytonic and The Way Sun Cooperation allies. Their joint efforts could contain the flames of war and create a new chain in their global economic partnerships. Alas, the order to deploy a strike group was called, and so the 7th Fleet sets for open waters, due for arrival in 10 days. Their target would be an anchor point between Votara and Markki Islands, an essential trade corridor.

No foreign players were currently known to be involved, except for a call by Kasantia - it was urgent the Federation communicate with it's allies as well as The Remenant Forces of Opheros. An encrypted official message was drafted and submitted to the rightful leadership of Opherus. In preparation for involvement a number of satellites are designated in intelligence gathering and mission planning.

[The Grand Economic Consortium]

As soon as analysis of the KENNEN images at the Consortian Naval Intelligence HQ was finished, and each ship located in the Opheros region was tagged by geostationary sattelites, their positions updating once every few second, the next part of the plan could begin: their annihilation. The warships belonging to the Opheroan rebel factions, alongside Nation Ms fleet were all targets for the UB-144 unmanned stealth bombers. They were all equipped with 8 ASM-3 supersonic cruise missiles, meaning that a total of 96 ASM-3s were ready to be deployed. As such, the 12 unmanned bombers accelerated towards the islands, ready to drop the missiles as soon as they were 400km away from the enemy warships. For now, they were cruising, their stealthy design reducing their rcs and making them virtually invisible to radars.

The response to the crisis was short and to the point. “We are pained to hear of the situation in Opheros. It saddens us to hear that the rightful government has been deposed. We will be sending support to the government in order to restore order.” As such the task force left from the Ylan Naval Base to go to Opheros with aid to the RFO.

The force which consisted mainly of marines and helicopters were in a good mood, as although there had been news of other powers interfering with Opheros, it should be a relatively clean and easy operation. After the fighting was done, they would have added a new ally to the Triumvirate. The marines were mostly lightly to medium armed, although they did have heavy weapons, as it was standard for Triumvirate forces. Pulling up to the RFO base, the ship sent a transmission, “Greetings, we are a task force from the Imperial Triumvirate and we would like to land and deliver our aid to the legitimate government.”

Kosŏn had long stood tall as a beacon of revolutionary socialism, a steadfast vanguard of a future free from the chains of capital. Yet for much of its existence it had stood alone, content to develop its capabilities in international isolation, removing itself from the rest of the world. But that had changed nearly a decade ago, as the premiership of Chang Jae-Sun saw the emergence of a new policy of revolutionary internationalism, acknowledging that the triumph of socialism could not be limited to one country alone, not even one so bounteous as Kosŏn. So it was that when the proletariat of Opheros rose up under the banner of the People's Army, the Workers' Party was more than ready to provide assistance.

An intervention force had swiftly been mustered, centered around a carrier strike group drawn from the Eastern Fleet. As an archipelagic island nation, control of Opheros necessitated control of the seas, and therefore a significant naval force capable of overcoming both the remaining counterrevolutionary elements of Opheros' navy and the fleet elements of any other bourgeois powers who decided to stick their noses into the situation.

The Tangung-class aircraft carrier Somyeol sat at the heart of the strike group, providing the bulk of the aerial elements required to secure air superiority, a crucial advantage in all aspects of twenty-first century warfare. Accompanying the Somyeol were three Sang-O-class cruisers, constituting the primary surface combatants of the task force with their potent missile arsenals, consisting of 212 vertical launch silos equipped with a variety of surface-to-air, anti-ship, and land attack missiles, alongside twelve larger silos armed with hypersonic glide vehicles to provide devastating strike capabilities at extreme ranges. The bulk of the strike force's defensive capabilities were provided by its four Immyeonjo-class destroyer escorts, which were primarily focused towards air defence and anti-submarine warfare being armed with a host of SAMs, ASROCS, and ABMs and equipped with the sensor suites to make full use of these capabilities. The final naval combat elements of the Opheros task force were a trio of Hangkkeut-class attack submarines lurking beneath the waves, providing additional missile armament alongside a potent torpedo arsenal.

This force would escort a wider range of transports and supply ships, most prominently a pair of Taepung-class amphibious assault ships transporting the bulk of the ground forces of the Kosŏn Revolutionary Army that were to be deployed to Opheros to secure terrestrial victory. Other transport vessels carried a wide range of supplies, ranging from a host of modern weaponry with which to arm the People's Army Of Opheros to humanitarian aid for those civilians who had suddenly found themselves engulfed by the fires of civil war. Victory would come not just through force of arms, but by ensuring that the people of Opheros understood that a victory for the revolution was in their best interests, securing their hearts and minds. In the skies above, a trio of SG-23 transport aircraft accompanied the seafaring vessels, standing ready to provide airlift capabilities or, for one of them at present, unleash a devastating missile arsenal of its own.

Capitalist despotism cannot stand forever, and we hail Opheros as yet another example of that fundamental truth. In the spirit of international revolutionary solidarity, we wish to aid you in ensuring the proper development of socialism via diplomatic and economic assistance once the revolution is victorious.

Of course, we recognise that there remains more work to be done before revolutionary transformation is fully feasible. The forces of counter-revolution still retain an unfortunate grip on much of Opheros, and the forces of world capital are always swift in their efforts to annihilate the nascent power of the proletariat. Therefore Kosŏn has dispatched a military force to aid you in your struggle, providing not just direct military assistance but also modern equipment and training to help ensure the independent effectiveness of the People's Army. GENERAL QUARTERS - GENERAL QUARTERS - GENERAL QUARTERS

Alarms blared, as the crews of the Federation Naval Strike Group were caught completely off guard. Admiral Tobius Rook nearly spat his coffee, taken aback by the most unexpected offense by a mysterious foreign force. But who? Orbiting overhead the satellites were unable to detect the bombers, and the advancing fleet was cruising at 35kts. AWACS, and F35's scouring the skies were the first wave of defense against the incoming missiles. The projectiles were tracked shortly after they'd launched, and by measure of speed due to impact in less than 5 minutes. Not nearly enough time to launch any offensive countermeasures. The Ford Class Carrier was equipped with advanced aegis combat systems radar, interceptor missiles and forward-operating reconnaissance platforms. 30 missiles in total fired - 8 intercepted aloft, 6 intercepted by Phalanx CIWS, 10 by way of Rolling Airframe Missile (RAM) while 4 missiles were detected by way of AN/SPY-3 multifunction radar and taken down. 2 Missiles hit their intended target. There was just not enough distance to take down the bombers. The superficial damage called in to action the firefighting abilities of the crew.

The bombers become visible once their missiles were fired, and they were tracked to an amphibious ship. Even with the shock that came from the unprovoked attack, it was even more appalling to learn the ship belonged to the Naval Forces of The Grand Economic Consortium; a Nation not having any previous relations, engagement, or having crossed any path with the Federation. Admiral Rook was flabbergasted, with hundreds of miles from their intended anchor point. How would he respond? He stood at the bridge, pensative..."do not engage, we'll halt our advance toward Opheros, move to defensive formations, and advise our allies. There's not much we currently know about the Consortium, or what they're expecting of us...but this sends a clear signal, they do not want us in this conflict. What do they know that we don't?"

Meanwhile at the flightdeck, the sailors are putting out the fire, a gaping hole on the outer most hull. Rumors begin to mount as to a prolonged, arduous war. Admiral Rook dwells on a thought...if the Consortium is bold enough to make first strike, they are probably baiting them. They've most certainly gathered the strike group's size. Do they also assume the Federation would be unwilling to send a reinforcement fleet? "We'll contact Zeina V, and advise any Bytonic, and The Way Sun Cooperation forces of this threat - I wouldn't expect another wave attack, but we'll plan for it regardless".

Floating several hundred miles North-East sits the Strike group. Estimating their arrival time -prolonged-, indefinitely as they wait for further instruction by their war cabinet and allies.

An entire fleet group stood stationed in habour, surrounded by people, local Russians and rather recently oroginating European settlers. Military bands chanted and blasted, while sailors marched over the terrain, walking in small parade style groups as they assembled infront of the habour area. A large ocean of people, contrasting the seas right in their back fully filled by thousands of sailors, and thousands of bystanders on the other side. The mood stood high, both by the moral effect of the playing military bands and flowers tossed onto the passing by sailors. They walked in orderly fassion, at first the escort crews, followed by the carrier compliment and after them the naval aviators. The sailors took possition on the deck of their given ships, there waiting as following the aviators officers and captains walked by waiting infront of their respective vessals, each of them greeted by name, and more favorable lighting conditions further marking out their rank by the more exotic uniforms. But finally the main spectacle reached in, his walk was quite slow and the grin on his face intense slowly but hearingly loud approching the front, as the sound of his bots echoed through the entire compound, taking up so much attention that the person behind someone even if slightly less important had been somewhat left out. But as he walked by the atmosphere charging up finally reached its climax, people loudly started to yell out his name, in nearly perfect synchronization it broke through "RAIDER, RAIDER, RAIDER RAIDER." the ammount of enthusiasm behind his arrival was truely something which even surprised the event organization. One could figuratively feel the ground shake, however his slow walk keept up and equal pace untill he and the person behind him Admiral Harry Essex who was left behind as Raider took onto a podium.

After the revolution the city of Sagos had became the beacon for the Proletariat and the free people of Opheros. As well as the headquarters for the Peoples Army while the planned there crusade to liberate Opheros from the capitalists who had been oppressing its people. The city had quickly been taken over after the coup, with the lack of resistance Sagos had been spared the fate of of the capital which had suffered from rampant riots and anarchy. The former government offices located in the centre of the city had become the new home of the Ministry of Defence alongside the Proletariat General Committee. Which had quickly began to send messages to fellow Socialist nations across the world, a call to arms to fight off the Capitalist Oppressors of Opheros.

The city itself had been quickly fortified, with the ports prepared for the arrival of the communist forces from Koson and the UESR. While the Proletariat General Committee made contact with the Kasantian Envoy. While for the people of Sagos the ever looming presence of the military and the New Socialist Party was becoming ever clearer. With the government district being dawned with the banners of the Peoples Army of Opheros. While the once wealthy apartment towers had been cleared of there former residents which where replaced by hero's of the revolution.

The new Ministry of Defence was filled with Officers and specialists as planning for the offensive. But suddenly the routine was been broken as the Radar detected a series missiles traveling at Mach speeds skimming over the ocean. The commander of the ONC. "Bramble" was quickly alerted.

Onboard the ONC "Bramble", Captain M. Wade quickly communicated with the three other Corvettes, as they prepared there limited anti missile capabilities to protect the city. The bridge was filled with action as the crew prepared themselves. Just minutes later the radar operator shouted out an updated time. "5 minutes till its in CWIS Range, at least 20 contacts inbound". Captain Wade stood at the bridge waiting he could do little put hope the weapons systems held up. After a minute he asked the radar operator a question. "What are the current guesses of the targets?".

The Radar operator was about to respond. But they where interrupted by the sound of the CWIS cannons firing. As he looked outside he could see the tracers rip across the sky as streaks of smoke could be seen across the horizon. He watched as a missile slammed into the ONC "Salder" followed by a large explosion, the ship was hit by another 2 missiles before the ship began to sink. Before he could react fully the CWIS cannons activated again as missiles began to close down onto the ship.

He watched as 3 of the missiles where shot down. But the other 4 continued on there path till they hit the ship, the following explosion could be seen from Sagos port. With 2 of The Peoples Navy 5 ships sank into the sea off the coast. Local citizens went out picking up as many survivors as they could. The Peoples army didn't know who had committed this attack but knew they would be made pay....

This of course stacked against an open declaration of war by The Grand Economic Consortium; and yet, no word on an allied response.

Perhaps there was too much to lose, and not much to gain in this fight. Never the less Admiral Rook of the Strike Group was informed on the Naval units affiliated with TGEC. On the surface it was an easy opponent, however, what the Admiral insisted was to never under estimate the enemy. It was very much so unclear how many submersible vessels lurked at the oceans bottom. The maritime patrol aircraft could not survey the ocean floor with accuracy, and the satellites were ineffective. Their only hope was the Federation submarines - hawkishly hunting for any potential threat.

Admiral Rook: "Anchors aweigh, set sail, we're to alternate our course". His pale blue eyes gleaming as he stares at a digital map splayed across a metallic war table. "Zeina V's kept quiet on this deployment, and as far as the people know, there is no war, and we were never attacked". He shakes his head disapprovingly "no reinforcements, either...too many players here and we're just about sitting ducks should they all collaborate against us". This new stratagem increased fuel usage, added to working man hours, and burned through (but not to any critical point) food supplies. Airborne scanning, surveillance, and underwater sweeping were increased. Preparedness was at a maximum.

The letter struck a chord. Although the Triumvirate was not officially biased, the government hates communists. If Opheros was to fall into the hands of the communists that would be disastrous for trade, and strategic reasons. The government also knew that the marines they sent would not be enough and they would have to rely on our allies. As such this offer was too good to pass up. As such a message was sent.

"Inform Commander Marko that we're moving to Votia; there we'll rendezvous with the Bytonic allies...still no word from The Remnant Command, but we'll press on". Admiral Rook then responds to the communication by Captain Oviksi, it reads:

The current known fleet of TGEC is not concerning - we are able and capable. However, we are worried about their external allies in and around Opheros. We haven't tracked any additional fleets with their signatures. There is also consideration of their [unknown] submarine(s). We haven't the intelligence to take them head on. We have retaliated only in defense, having lost a total of 12 sailors, and sizeable damage to our carrier. Still, we're able to reach your location. Our war cabinet will not sit still while we report casualties - they are sure to formulate some resolve. It is highly likely our carrier will be relieved by another - the remaining option is to find an exit to this, or what was supposed to be, a minor campaign. It would be silly to provoke a world war over something as petty as Ospheros. Once we anchor we'll need to have the option to access a useable port.

The Remnant Forces of Opheros
Carrier Strike Group Helvan, Pacific Ocean

The Helvan Carrier group had been the pride to the Opheros Navy, having its sole Aircraft Carrier the "Triumvirate". But after its collapse it had positioned itself 10 Nautical miles from Opheros, it awaited further command from what was left of the Naval Command. The silence which had fallen on the carrier strike group after the fall of there government was suddenly inturppeted by a radio call from the remains of Naval Command. It was brief and simple it declared the Remnants Forces of Opheros new duty would be to secure the sea around Opheros.

They quickly mobilized waiting for further commands this wait was ended as missiles began to skim across the ocean towards the Ships. There was only a few seconds for a reaction as the CWIS cannons began to fire alongside a set of Missile interceptors being fired towards them. The first missile hit the Support ship Dinamo, this was followed by a missile hitting the Destroyer beside the Triumeverate. This missile attack could have not lasted any longer than ten minutes, but the silence which fell after the impact was deeper than usual. With only the sound of waves crack of metal.

The damaged ships slowly made there way to port as the remaining ships of the Helevan Carrier Group repositioned preparing for the possibility of further missiles.
