Tarrentum Premier Football League, 2015 Season (Season 6)
After having varied success in the UICA competitions the past year, TPFL clubs looked forward to a great and productive year. Though the international transfer wire was not set ablaze by Tarrentian clubs, national dealings were rampant. Walli Walli FC signed U-21 National Team GK Brice Ferro to a 3-year deal following his National Championship with National Napole University this past year as a freshmen. Ferro decided to leave college early to play in the TPFL. Another signing off the U-21 National squad was Lawrence Cotam agreeing to terms with the Lake Empress Brewsers.
Although no team went very far in UICA competition this time around, the sustained growth and (mild) success of Tarrentum’s clubs have garnered them the coveted 28th World Ranking by Nation. 28 is the magic number whereby nations are allowed an extra entrant to the TQCC. With their advancement in rank the top two clubs of the TPFL (those competing in the championship games) will make it to the TQCC next year.
This year also saw the promotion of Agrobaign and Yuck-yucks FC from the Tarrentian League – A to the TPFL. While a bit awkward the first couple of match, the two new clubs made a good impression on the many fans of football in the Valley.

With a third of the season over the standings have already begun to resemble their familiar endings. Krozuy has pulled away in the North Division with stunning wins over Real Marentian, Lake Empress and Walli Walli FC. Agrobaign has been the surprising contender for the number two spot in the North as they have stayed in the hunt with Walli Walli FC and their former TL-A compatriots, Yuck-yucks FC.
Things are much closer in the South as the Legion have not been able to put away the Noel Gennesse led FC Yuppers. The “Young Lady of Football” has been impressive in 11 matches scoring 7 of the teams 16 goals. However it is only between Napoliroma and FC Yuppers in South as Tre Da La, Illian and FC McSquiggie have failed to muster any response to the Legion’s iron-clad defense and the Yuppers sweeping attacks. Mountain FCA is looking at a quick relegation to the TL-A.

The second third of the regular season saw the settling of Krozuy and Napoliroma at the top of their divisions with comfortable 7 and 6 point leads, respectively. Henry Qund, star of the National Team and LW for Krozuy, pushed his goal total to 28. Darius Cassiro made waves with 3 hat tricks in four matches for Napoliroma. He netted his “Turkeys” against Tre Da La, FC Yuppers and Mountain FCA.
Speaking of lowly Mountain, the Riori club is verging on outright obsolence with their horrible play. With only 2 victories in 22 games they have all but assured themselves of a tour of the TL-A next season. 11 matches still remain but prospects are not looking good.

With the 33rd match played across all divisions and clubs, the TPFL finished up its sixth regular season. The Premier Cup teams were set with the five of last year’s six teams returning to The Premier Cup. Real Marentian, 3rd place in the North Division last year, fell to last place and was on the verge of relegation but managed to scrape out enough wins to stay in the TPFL.

With the creation of the Tarrentian League A the TPFL put in place rules for relegation. The Tarrentum Sports Committee (TSC) relegates the lowest point-attaining clubs to TL-A from the TPFL after regular league play has ended (before Cup play).

With their victory in the Premier Cup Championship match, Napoliroma Legion returned to the TQCC as Champions while the Krozuy Academics get to attend as the runner-up. Henry Qund was adamant that he will bring Krozuy back to glory during the next UICA competition and next year during Season 7 of the TPFL.
The League is set in the international-standard structure of no divisions so that every club would play another throughout the season. The TL-A held a 24 match schedule starting roughly a month after the TPFL kicked off their fifth season. With the goal of a SBCC berth and promotion to the TPFL on the line, it was some fierce football played on the pitches across Tarrentum.

The Tarrentian League A’s cup playoffs pitted the two run-away leaders of the regular season, FA Apollonian (who appeared in the TL-A finals last year) and Sterro against Southern out of South Pezza.
For an extra incentive, the TSC tweaked the promotion rules to allow the top two clubs in the MegOil Cup Finals to move up to the TPFL. Now, the top three spots are the most coveted in the TL-A!
