AEYARISS CLASS
NUCLEAR POWERED SUPERCARRIER

NOT AVAILABLE FOR INTERNATIONAL MARKET

Image

OVERVIEW

The Aeyariss-class is a nuclear-powered fleet supercarrier developed for sustained high-intensity naval aviation, long-range power projection, fleet air defence, maritime strike, reconnaissance, electronic warfare, anti-submarine aviation support and unmanned-aircraft operations.

At 362 metres in overall length and roughly 140,000 tonnes full-load displacement, the class represents the principal fleet aviation capital ship of the Imperial Aeyariss Navy.

The design follows an aviation-first philosophy. Flight-deck efficiency, sortie generation, aircraft maintenance, weapons handling, aviation fuel distribution, command-and-control and aircraft survivability govern the ship's architecture rather than being added after the hull is designed.

The carrier combines a conventional angled CATOBAR flight deck with electromagnetic launch systems, advanced arresting gear, a compact aft-starboard island, extensive electrical-generation capacity, integrated sensors, layered self-defence systems and significant future growth margins.

PRINCIPAL CHARACTERISTICS

ClassificationNuclear-Powered Fleet Supercarrier
ClassAeyariss-class
Length Overall362 m
Waterline Length350 m
Maximum Flight-Deck Width91 m
Full-Load DisplacementApproximately 140,000 tonnes
Propulsion2 × Naval Nuclear Reactor Plants
Propulsion Shafts4
Installed Propulsion PowerApproximately 370,000 shp class
Maximum Speed30+ knots
Operational EnduranceLimited primarily by aviation fuel, stores, ammunition, maintenance and crew endurance
Service-Life PhilosophyLong-duration fleet service with protected displacement, electrical and systems-growth margins

AVIATION FACILITIES

The Aeyariss-class employs a full CATOBAR configuration intended to support conventional fixed-wing fighters, strike aircraft, airborne early-warning aircraft, electronic-warfare aircraft, unmanned combat aircraft, aerial-refuelling platforms and carrier-support aircraft.

Its flight deck is configured around simultaneous aircraft preparation, launch, recovery, servicing and rearming operations.

Flight-Deck ConfigurationCATOBAR with port-side angled recovery deck
Electromagnetic Catapults4
Forward Catapults2
Waist Catapults2
Arresting Wires3
Deck-Edge Aircraft Elevators4 large elevators
Elevator Arrangement3 × starboard, 1 × forward-port
Hangar ArrangementLarge multi-zone enclosed aviation hangar
Weapons HandlingDedicated aircraft-weapons elevators and protected magazines
Aviation SupportIntegrated maintenance, fuel, ordnance, spare-parts and aircraft-servicing facilities

The flight deck and aviation-support architecture are designed around graceful degradation. Loss of an individual elevator, catapult, electrical zone or maintenance area is not intended to disable the entire air operation.

AIR WING

The normal embarked air group is planned around approximately 128 aircraft, although exact composition varies according to deployment and mission requirements.

A representative air group may include:

Multirole Fighters60
Fleet-Defence / Stealth Fighters20
Strike UCAVs16
Unmanned Tankers8
AEW&C Aircraft6
Electronic-Warfare Aircraft6
ASW Helicopters6
Utility / SAR Helicopters2
COD / Transport Aircraft4
Nominal Air-Wing Total128 aircraft

This configuration is not treated as a fixed peacetime loadout. Aircraft numbers and types may be adjusted for fleet air defence, deep strike, anti-submarine warfare, reconnaissance, electronic attack, unmanned operations or sustained expeditionary campaigns.

SORTIE GENERATION

The Aeyariss-class is designed to support sustained rather than purely theoretical maximum sortie generation.

Aircraft movement, refuelling, weapons handling, maintenance, deck spotting and aircrew availability are therefore treated as part of one integrated aviation-production system.

Routine Wartime Planning RateApproximately 120–160 sorties per day
High-Intensity Multi-Day ObjectiveApproximately 180–220 sorties per day, dependent upon operational conditions
Short-Duration Maximum SurgePotentially higher under exceptional conditions

Sortie rates remain dependent upon mission radius, weapons requirements, aircraft maintenance state, crew availability, weather, sea state and replenishment conditions.

PROPULSION & ELECTRICAL ARCHITECTURE

Two naval nuclear reactor plants provide the class with effectively unlimited propulsion endurance within the practical constraints imposed by food, aviation fuel, ammunition, spare parts and maintenance.

Four propulsion shafts provide high-speed fleet mobility while simultaneously distributing propulsion machinery across the hull.

Large ship-service electrical-generation capacity supports:

  • electromagnetic aircraft-launch systems
  • advanced radar arrays
  • electronic-warfare systems
  • high-capacity computing and battle-management systems
  • aircraft-maintenance infrastructure
  • future unmanned aviation systems
  • directed-energy weapons
  • future sensors and mission equipment

The ship deliberately retains substantial electrical-growth capacity rather than allocating all available generation to the initial configuration.

ISLAND & SENSOR ARCHITECTURE

The carrier uses a compact island positioned well aft on the starboard side.

Reducing island footprint increases usable flight-deck area while improving aircraft movement around the forward and central portions of the deck.

The island incorporates:

  • integrated command bridge
  • aviation-control facilities
  • carrier air-traffic control
  • fleet command facilities
  • integrated electronic-support equipment
  • communications systems
  • four-face multifunction AESA radar architecture
  • reduced-signature structural shaping

External antenna clutter is deliberately minimized.

The objective is signature management, not invisibility. The ship remains an enormous naval platform and is not described as a "stealth carrier."

COMBAT SYSTEMS & SELF-DEFENCE

The Aeyariss-class operates as part of a carrier strike group and is not intended to replace escorting destroyers, cruisers, submarines or fleet air-defence aircraft.

Nevertheless, the carrier possesses a substantial organic layered-defence suite.

Defensive VLS128 cells
Point-Defence MissilesMultiple RAM-class launchers
Terminal Kinetic DefenceMultiple close-in defensive mounts
Directed-Energy WeaponsMultiple high-energy defensive positions
Electronic WarfareIntegrated active and passive EW suite
DecoysExpendable and offboard countermeasure systems
Primary RadarIntegrated four-face multifunction AESA

The defensive system emphasizes layered engagement rather than reliance upon a single interceptor type.

Long-range protection is principally provided by the carrier strike group's aircraft and escort vessels, with the carrier's own systems forming additional defensive layers against threats penetrating the outer screen.

SURVIVABILITY

The Aeyariss-class is built around the assumption that a major fleet carrier may eventually suffer battle damage.

Survivability measures therefore emphasize:

  • distributed electrical generation and distribution
  • zonal power architecture
  • redundant aviation-support systems
  • subdivided machinery spaces
  • protected magazines
  • automated fire detection and suppression
  • extensive damage-control stations
  • redundant communications pathways
  • armoured and separated vital spaces
  • multiple aircraft-handling routes
  • reserve command-and-control facilities
  • distributed sensors and defensive systems

The design philosophy favors graceful degradation: localized damage should reduce combat efficiency progressively rather than immediately eliminating the ship's ability to conduct aviation operations.

SIGNATURE MANAGEMENT

Despite its enormous size, the carrier incorporates extensive measures intended to reduce unnecessary radar, infrared, acoustic and electromagnetic signatures.

These include:

  • faceted hull and island shaping
  • integrated radar arrays
  • reduced exposed antenna clutter
  • clean deck-edge geometry
  • recessed or shielded equipment where operationally practical
  • nuclear propulsion without conventional funnel exhaust
  • electromagnetic-emissions management
  • machinery-noise reduction measures

Signature reduction remains subordinate to aviation effectiveness, maintainability, damage control and structural requirements.

COMMAND & CONTROL

The Aeyariss-class is capable of serving as the command centre of a major carrier strike group or larger naval task force.

Its combat-information and fleet-management facilities fuse information from:

  • organic carrier sensors
  • airborne early-warning aircraft
  • fighters and UCAVs
  • escort ships
  • submarines
  • space-based systems
  • unmanned aircraft and surface vessels
  • offboard passive sensors
  • joint and allied networks

The carrier therefore functions not merely as an aircraft platform but as an important node within a wider distributed naval combat network.

LOGISTICS & SUSTAINMENT

Nuclear propulsion removes the requirement for conventional propulsion fuel but does not eliminate the need for regular fleet replenishment.

Major consumables include:

  • aviation fuel
  • guided weapons
  • aircraft cannon ammunition
  • aircraft spare parts
  • food and consumables
  • medical supplies
  • maintenance materials
  • general stores

The ship is therefore designed to operate as part of an integrated fleet-logistics system rather than functioning as an excessively self-contained floating warehouse.

Underway replenishment remains an essential element of sustained combat operations.

DESIGN PHILOSOPHY

Aviation FirstThe carrier exists primarily to generate and sustain combat aviation.
Graceful DegradationDistributed systems permit continued operations following localized damage.
Signature ManagementReduce unnecessary signatures without compromising operational effectiveness.
Growth MarginReserve displacement, electrical power, cooling and volume for future modernization.
Fleet IntegrationThe carrier operates as the centre of a larger distributed naval combat system.
Sustained OperationsDesign priorities favour repeatable combat output rather than temporary theoretical maximum performance.

PRIMARY MISSIONS

  • Fleet air-power projection
  • Fleet air defence
  • Long-range maritime strike
  • Land-attack aviation
  • Airborne early warning
  • Electronic warfare
  • Intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance
  • Anti-submarine aviation support
  • Unmanned combat-aircraft operations
  • Carrier-strike-group command and control

Aurelis Class Lightcarrier

Postby Aeyariss » Mon Mar 18, 2024 8:31 am

AURELIS CLASS
CONVENTIONAL LIGHT CARRIER

Image

AURELIS-CLASS

The AURELIS-class is a conventionally powered light fleet carrier developed for nations requiring credible fixed-wing carrier aviation without the acquisition, infrastructure and lifecycle burden associated with nuclear-powered supercarriers. At approximately 52,000 tonnes full load and 280 metres in overall length, the AURELIS occupies the space between traditional light carriers and full-sized fleet carriers. Its design combines a large aviation-oriented hull, integrated electric propulsion, low-observable shaping, a full angled recovery deck and CATOBAR operations within a platform intended to remain affordable enough for sustained fleet deployment. The result is a flexible carrier capable of supporting fleet air defence, maritime strike, airborne surveillance, anti-submarine aviation and expeditionary operations while remaining substantially smaller than the Aeyariss Navy's nuclear-powered supercarrier fleet.

PRINCIPAL CHARACTERISTICS

ClassificationConventional Light Fleet Carrier
ClassAURELIS-class
Length Overall280 m
Maximum Beam73 m
Full-Load Draft11 m
Full-Load DisplacementApproximately 52,000 tonnes
Propulsion ArchitectureIntegrated Electric Propulsion
Power Generation4 × Gas-Turbine Generator Sets
Propulsion2 × Electric Propulsion Motors
Shafts2
Maximum Speed25+ knots
Ship's CrewApproximately 1,200
Air GroupApproximately 20–30 aircraft, mission dependent

DESIGN CONCEPT

The AURELIS-class is intended for navies that require genuine carrier aviation but do not require, or cannot economically justify, a 100,000-tonne-class nuclear-powered supercarrier. Its architecture therefore emphasizes:

  • moderate acquisition and operating cost
  • conventional propulsion
  • fixed-wing CATOBAR aviation
  • reduced-signature shaping
  • high aviation availability
  • mission flexibility
  • efficient crew requirements
  • modern electrical architecture
  • long-term upgrade potential

Unlike amphibious assault ships converted for fighter operations, the AURELIS is designed from the keel upward as an aircraft carrier. The flight deck, hangar, elevators, magazines, aviation-fuel spaces and aircraft-maintenance facilities therefore govern the internal arrangement.

FLIGHT DECK

The AURELIS-class employs a conventional angled carrier flight deck supporting simultaneous aircraft preparation, launch and recovery operations. Its aviation arrangement provides substantially greater operational flexibility than ski-jump or short-takeoff carrier configurations.

Flight-Deck TypeCATOBAR
Aircraft Catapults3
Forward Catapults2
Additional Catapult1 × flight-deck catapult integrated with the angled-deck arrangement
Angled Recovery DeckApproximately 9.5°
Aircraft Elevators3
Forward Elevator1
Midships Elevator1
Aft Elevator1
HangarFull enclosed aviation hangar

The three-elevator arrangement provides multiple independent routes between the flight deck and hangar. Aircraft can therefore be transferred between maintenance, storage and operational positions without relying upon a single aircraft-handling point.

AIR GROUP

A typical AURELIS deployment carries approximately 20–30 aircraft. Exact composition varies according to mission requirements. Potential embarked aviation includes:

Multirole FightersFleet air defence, strike and maritime attack
AEW AircraftAirborne surveillance and battle management
Electronic-Warfare AircraftElectronic attack and electronic support
ASW HelicoptersAnti-submarine warfare and maritime surveillance
Utility HelicoptersSAR, logistics and personnel transfer
Unmanned AircraftISR, strike, reconnaissance and future mission systems

Aircraft composition may be adjusted significantly between deployments. A fleet-air-defence deployment may emphasize fighters and airborne early-warning aircraft, while maritime-security, expeditionary or ASW deployments may embark larger rotary-wing and unmanned detachments.

HANGAR & AVIATION SUPPORT

The principal enclosed hangar provides aircraft storage, maintenance and servicing facilities beneath the flight deck. The aviation-support complex incorporates:

  • aircraft maintenance workshops
  • engine and component servicing areas
  • aircraft spare-parts storage
  • aviation-fuel systems
  • protected aviation magazines
  • weapons preparation spaces
  • aircraft support equipment
  • mission-system maintenance
  • flight-deck support vehicle spaces

Aviation fuel tanks and ordnance magazines are distributed below the principal aviation spaces and separated from machinery and accommodation areas wherever practical. This provides the carrier with an aviation infrastructure more closely associated with dedicated fleet carriers than converted aviation ships.

PROPULSION

The AURELIS-class uses Integrated Electric Propulsion. Four gas-turbine generator sets supply the ship's common electrical network. Electric propulsion motors subsequently drive two conventional propulsion shafts.

Prime Movers4 × Gas-Turbine Generator Sets
Propulsion TypeIntegrated Electric Propulsion
Propulsion Motors2 × High-Power Electric Motors
Shafts2
Maximum Speed25+ knots

The common electrical architecture allows power generation to support both propulsion and ship-service loads.

Major electrical consumers include:

  • aircraft-launch systems
  • radar and sensors
  • aviation support equipment
  • electronic warfare systems
  • weapons handling
  • hotel services
  • combat-management systems
  • future high-power equipment

Integrated-electric propulsion also allows machinery to be distributed more flexibly than in a traditional mechanically coupled propulsion arrangement.

ISLAND & SENSOR ARCHITECTURE

The AURELIS employs a compact integrated island designed to minimize flight-deck obstruction.

The island incorporates:

  • navigation bridge
  • carrier flight-control facilities
  • aviation operations centre
  • integrated sensor mast
  • communications systems
  • electronic-support systems
  • fleet command spaces

Radar arrays, communications equipment and electronic-support sensors are integrated into the island and mast architecture wherever practical.

External clutter is minimized to improve both electromagnetic compatibility and radar-signature management.

LOW-OBSERVABLE ARCHITECTURE

The AURELIS is a signature-managed carrier, not a stealth aircraft carrier.

Measures incorporated into the design include:

  • faceted hull surfaces
  • reduced-signature island geometry
  • integrated mast architecture
  • reduced external antenna clutter
  • clean deck-edge arrangements
  • recessed equipment where operationally practical
  • infrared-management measures
  • machinery-noise reduction

These measures are intended to complicate detection, classification and weapons-quality tracking rather than render a vessel of this size invisible.

Aviation efficiency, maintainability and survivability remain higher priorities than extreme signature reduction.

SURVIVABILITY

The AURELIS-class incorporates compartmentation and distributed systems intended to preserve mobility and aviation capability following localized damage.

Major survivability features include:

  • distributed electrical generation
  • multiple electrical zones
  • segregated machinery spaces
  • protected aviation-fuel storage
  • protected weapons magazines
  • automated firefighting systems
  • redundant communications networks
  • multiple aircraft elevators
  • zonal damage-control organization
  • reserve emergency power

Loss of one generator, elevator, electrical zone or aviation-support space should therefore degrade rather than immediately terminate flight operations.

MISSION PROFILES

The AURELIS-class may be configured for a variety of missions.

Fleet Air DefenceFighter-heavy air group supported by airborne surveillance
Maritime StrikeMultirole fighters and strike aircraft optimized for offensive operations
Sea ControlMixed fighters, AEW, ASW helicopters and maritime-surveillance aircraft
Expeditionary SupportMixed fixed-wing and rotary-wing aviation supporting deployed forces
ASW CarrierExpanded helicopter and unmanned ASW detachment
ISR PlatformAEW, electronic-warfare and unmanned surveillance-heavy air group
Training CarrierAdvanced carrier qualification and naval-aviation training

COMBAT-SYSTEM PHILOSOPHY

The EUDORA Class is not optimized around a single fixed missile inventory. Its defining combat characteristic is the ability to configure the 192-cell RAVLS architecture around the mission while retaining a layered secondary defense system and a distributed sensor suite. RAVLS provides magazine depth while the combat system provides the picture. The secondary battery keeps the ship alive when the fight gets close.

SOLARIS CLASS
LANDING PLATFORM DOCKS (LPD)

Image

OVERVIEW

The SOLARIS Class is a large, blue-water Landing Platform Dock developed for nations requiring the ability to move, sustain and deploy a complete reinforced expeditionary battlegroup from a single hull.

Displacing approximately 47,500 tonnes at full operational load, SOLARIS occupies the upper end of the LPD spectrum. It combines a massive vehicle and cargo complex, a three-craft ELYCIA-compatible well deck, substantial rotary-wing aviation facilities, joint headquarters spaces and a full medical complex without sacrificing its primary identity as an amphibious transport.

The design is built around one principle:THE EXPEDITIONARY FORCE MUST ARRIVE WITH EVERYTHING IT NEEDS TO FIGHT.

SOLARIS therefore carries not simply infantry, but the battlegroup's armour, artillery, air defence, engineers, command vehicles, logistics train, ammunition, fuel, workshops and supporting aviation. Its normal embarked force is approximately 1,450 landing-force personnel, supported by approximately 6,500 tonnes of mission payload and 6,500 m² of vehicle and mission-deck space. The class is equally suited to amphibious warfare, strategic reinforcement, expeditionary logistics, humanitarian relief, evacuation and afloat command operations.

Bow Thrusters2
Ship's CompanyApprox. 445
Aviation DetachmentApprox. 80
Joint / Battlegroup Headquarters StaffApprox. 105
Normal Landing ForceApprox. 1,450
Normal Total Persons AboardApprox. 2,080
Short-Duration Surge CapacityApprox. 2,350 total persons
Mission PayloadApprox. 6,500 t
Vehicle / Mission Deck AreaApprox. 6,500 m²
Well Deck3 × ELYCIA Class connectors
Flight Deck6 medium-helicopter operating spots
HangarApprox. 8 medium-aircraft equivalents

PRIMARY MISSIONS

  • Amphibious assault and expeditionary manoeuvre
  • Mechanized battlegroup transport
  • Strategic reinforcement and theatre mobility
  • Over-the-shore logistics
  • Vertical assault and rotary-wing support
  • Battlegroup and amphibious task-group command
  • Humanitarian assistance and disaster relief
  • Non-combatant evacuation operations
  • Medical support and casualty reception
  • Vehicle, equipment and personnel ferry missions

REFERENCE EXPEDITIONARY BATTLEGROUP

SOLARIS is dimensioned around a reinforced combined-arms mechanized battlegroup rather than a light infantry-only landing force.

A representative design-driving package includes:

Main Battle TanksApprox. 14
Infantry Fighting VehiclesApprox. 30
APC / Command / Reconnaissance VehiclesApprox. 12
Self-Propelled ArtilleryApprox. 8
Mobile Air-Defence VehiclesApprox. 4
Engineer / Recovery VehiclesApprox. 6
Logistics / Fuel / Medical / Communications / Support VehiclesApprox. 50–55

The ship also carries the associated ammunition, fuel, engineering equipment, workshops, food, water, medical stores and command infrastructure required to sustain the formation after landing.

The battlegroup configuration is not fixed. Customers may exchange heavy vehicles for additional infantry, aviation, mission modules, relief supplies or strategic cargo.

VEHICLE & CARGO ARCHITECTURE

SOLARIS provides approximately 6,500 m² of useful vehicle and mission space across two principal decks.

Main Heavy Vehicle DeckApprox. 4,600 m²
Upper Vehicle / Mission DeckApprox. 1,900 m²
Mission Payload AllowanceApprox. 6,500 t

The lower deck is designed for modern heavy tracked vehicles, including main battle tanks, engineering systems and self-propelled artillery.

Heavy equipment moves primarily through dedicated ramps rather than relying upon elevators for routine operations.

Internal circulation has been designed around rapid loading and unloading, with broad staging lanes and minimized reversing requirements.

SOLARIS therefore functions equally well from conventional ports and during over-the-shore amphibious operations.

WELL DECK & ELYCIA OPERATIONS

The defining feature of SOLARIS is its exceptionally large stern docking complex.

The ship is purpose-designed around the ELYCIA Class air-cushion amphibious connector.

Usable Well-Deck LengthApprox. 118 m
Clear Well-Deck WidthApprox. 21.5 m
Clear Internal HeightApprox. 9–10 m class
Normal Connector Complement3 × ELYCIA Class
Dedicated Ballast CapacityApprox. 6,500 t
Combined Connector Payload Per WaveApprox. 270 t
Troop-Heavy Connector WaveUp to approx. 480 personnel

The three connectors are carried in tandem.

Where practical, vehicles and cargo may be loaded onto the connectors while the dock remains dry before controlled ballasting and flooding.

The ballast system provides the stern immersion and trim control required for well-deck operations without compromising the ship's normal cruising condition.

Under favourable sea-state and short-range landing conditions, initial combat elements may begin reaching shore within hours.

A complete battlegroup-scale over-the-beach discharge normally requires approximately 36–60 hours, depending upon landing distance, shore conditions, vehicle mix and operational tempo.

A fully loaded SOLARIS represents approximately 24–30 ELYCIA-equivalent connector cycles.

AVIATION FACILITIES

SOLARIS incorporates substantial rotary-wing capability while deliberately avoiding the displacement and complexity of a full Landing Helicopter Dock.

Flight-Deck Operating Spots6 × medium helicopter
Mixed Heavy-Lift ArrangementApprox. 4 heavy + 2 medium positions
Hangar CapacityApprox. 8 medium-aircraft equivalents
Normal Aviation GroupApprox. 8 rotary-wing aircraft equivalents + UAV detachment
Surge Aviation CapacityApprox. 10–12 aircraft depending upon type
Aviation FuelApprox. 700 t class

The aviation complex includes enclosed maintenance facilities, aircraft support workshops, aviation fuel handling, ordnance handling and dedicated UAV support spaces.

Aircraft, vehicle and landing-craft operations are arranged so that each may continue without unnecessarily obstructing the others.

PROPULSION & ELECTRICAL ARCHITECTURE

SOLARIS employs an integrated diesel-electric propulsion system.

Approximately 70 MW of generating capacity is distributed across separated machinery zones to improve resilience and permit maintenance without immobilizing the ship.

Two electric propulsion motors, each in the approximately 22–23 MW class, drive conventional twin shafts.

The architecture provides:

  • High electrical availability
  • Efficient economic-speed operation
  • Excellent low-speed handling
  • Reduced mechanical drivetrain complexity
  • Flexible machinery placement
  • Strong hotel-service capacity
  • Substantial future electrical-growth potential
  • Reserve capacity for advanced sensors, counter-UAS systems and future directed-energy equipment

Two bow thrusters provide additional manoeuvring capability during harbour, amphibious and restricted-water operations.

COMMAND & CONTROL

SOLARIS is designed to serve as the afloat headquarters of its embarked battlegroup and, where required, a wider amphibious task group.

Dedicated facilities include:

  • Combat Information Centre
  • Amphibious Operations Centre
  • Joint planning spaces
  • Landing-force headquarters
  • Intelligence and mission-planning rooms
  • Aviation control facilities
  • Secure communications spaces
  • Extensive satellite and data-network connectivity

Approximately 105 dedicated joint-command personnel may be embarked without displacing the core ship-control organization.

MEDICAL FACILITIES

The SOLARIS medical complex supports both combat operations and humanitarian missions.

Permanent Medical BedsApprox. 48
Operating Theatres2
Intensive CareYes
Diagnostic ImagingYes
LaboratoryYes
Dental FacilityYes
Isolation CapabilityYes
Mass-Casualty TriageYes

Casualty routes connect directly to both aviation and well-deck areas.

Additional troop accommodation may be converted into temporary medical spaces during mass-casualty or humanitarian operations.

COMBAT SYSTEMS & SELF-DEFENCE

SOLARIS is not intended to replace a destroyer or cruiser.

Its combat systems are therefore optimized around survival of the amphibious mission rather than offensive missile capacity.

The baseline architecture provides for:

  • Approximately 32 local-area / point-defence missile interceptors
  • Distributed close-in weapon systems
  • Integrated electronic warfare
  • Soft-kill decoys
  • Electro-optical / infrared surveillance and fire-control systems
  • Counter-UAS capability
  • Reserved positions for future directed-energy or high-power microwave systems
  • Integrated multifunction radar architecture

A medium-calibre forward naval gun may be fitted according to customer requirement.

Long-range offensive strike weapons are not part of the standard configuration.

SURVIVABILITY

SOLARIS relies upon resilient naval architecture rather than excessive armour or oversized offensive weapon batteries.

Key features include:

  • Extensive watertight subdivision
  • Separated machinery spaces
  • Redundant electrical distribution
  • Distributed firefighting systems
  • Protected ammunition magazines
  • Protected aviation-fuel zones
  • Multiple damage-control access routes
  • Redundant command and communications pathways
  • CBRN citadel capability
  • Cyber-segmented control networks
  • Emergency power and bypass distribution
  • Wide-beam stability architecture designed around flooded well-deck operations

The ship's large ballast and trim-control system supports the substantial free-surface and displacement changes associated with docking operations.

SIGNATURE MANAGEMENT

SOLARIS incorporates practical signature reduction without compromising maintainability or amphibious function.

Features include:

  • Clean, angular superstructure geometry
  • Integrated principal sensor mast
  • Reduced external equipment clutter
  • Controlled radar-reflective discontinuities
  • Infrared-managed exhaust architecture
  • Electromagnetic emission-control support
  • Reduced acoustic signatures through electric propulsion at selected operating states

SOLARIS is a signature-managed amphibious warship, not a purportedly invisible vessel.

LOGISTICS & SUSTAINMENT

SOLARIS is intended to remain useful after the landing begins.

The class therefore includes substantial stores, workshops and hotel-service capacity for more than two thousand personnel.

Independent Embarked-Force EnduranceApprox. 30 days before replenishment becomes operationally desirable
Freshwater ProductionApprox. 600 m³/day class
Potable-Water StorageApprox. 1,000–1,200 m³

Extensive refrigerated stores, maintenance facilities, waste-processing systems and expeditionary-support spaces permit extended deployments far from national infrastructure.

AVAILABLE MISSION CONFIGURATIONS

The standard SOLARIS hull may be configured for a wide variety of operational requirements.
