Welcome to StarSearch LX: Road to WV113!
After a decent debut for Hakushiya in the 112th edition of the WVSC with its entry - “My Rare Psyche” by Ravine Nichols - finishing at 16th place, the federation is coming back for the 113th edition, aiming further with a national final… and it’s a special episode continuing from where the 60th edition of our FBS’s own singing tournament (StarSearch) left off. With the winners of each of the tournament’s 20 regional divisions (some up-and-rising from the indie ranks, some already established from before the Lioxutopian cataclysm) having already respectively prepared their own prospective Hakushiyan entries into the 113th edition (and seven of them even participating in national jury for the edition before), it’s now up to the rest of the multiverse to determine which of those entries ends up representing Hakushiya on that big day…

The official Saint Monkeyian Bid for the 113th WorldVision Song Contest!

Welcome to Light City, the Home of EDM Music in Saint Monkey! Wherever you walk down you'll hear the sound of EDM music. Whether it's DnB, Dubstep, Glitch-Hope, Electro or Future Bass, Light City has it all! This city is famous for it's Lightning Proof Buildings, but also it's unique culture with Lightning. Along with EDM, you'll find that in Light City and the whole region of Light City and the Lightning Lake many of the culture is based around the lightning. For example, every 3 years, the Lightning Night Music Festival takes place, which uses lightning as an instrument! You may wonder why? Well, it all goes down because of an atmospheric phenomenon, creating 1.1 million lightning strikes here each year! It's believed to have formed due to the South Tropchimps Swamp Plain, which create dense storm clouds, and the Lightning Lake area has the Lait Peaks to the North and the Fenta Southern Highlands to the south, creating a sort of funnel, which creates the perfect conditions for thunderstorms, which occur over 250 days each year! Half of this region and City are powered by Lightning alone! It just shows what power this place has, and what amazing music too...

The Light City and the Lightning Lake Region

Light City and the Lightning Lake, located in the Central South of the country, bordered by 5 other regions; the South Tropchimps and the Rainforestorangutanitalaterallity, Rainforestingchimpolaterallity, San Calichimpington, East Tropchimps and Tropchimps regions. Unsurprisingly, the capital of the region is Light City, and it is the 5th biggest city in terms of population, with a full population of 1.5 Million, whilst the region overall is ranked in 8th, with a total population of 2.8 Million, located mostly in Light City, Svetgrad, Port Soedinyat, Scimmiaville and Flusstadt. It has the largest lake in Saint Monkey, the Lightning Lake, and it's largest peak is promptly named Mt. Light, with a height of 3154m.

Venue: Monsterdog Unleashed Arena

The question is, why is Monsterdog Saint Monkey involved in this? Well, SMBS have decided to collaborate with them, by having 2 of their artist perform in Interval Acts, and they will also lend out their Arena for free! Monsterdog is a Label that originated from Britionisea, however, during the rise of EDM in the early 2010s, popularity in Saint Monkey with EDM hit an all time high. Monsterdog seized this opportunity and set up a headquarters here and made a new label, Monsterdog Saint Monkey. They proceeded to create their second YouTube channel, Monsterdog Saint Monkey, and began releasing songs. In 2013, the Light City government set out to create a new music arena, as it's current theatre (Although still operating today but at a smaller scale) had a capacity of only 8,000. Monsterdog took to build a new Arena, later named the Monsterdog Unleashed Arena, with a provisional capacity of 45,000, in an old abandoned Car Park 0.5km away from the centre of the city. Construction was efficient, and they managed to complete the build within 2 years, and it opened December 2014. The final capacity figure was 29,000. EDM had a strong fanbase, and there are still loyal fans, but during the decline in popularity of Monsterdog, and in general EDM, Monsterdog began renting out the stadium and has had many major performances, with the most recent being Veluna from Todlichebujoku, runner up of WV109.

For WV113, the capacity will be 32,000 in the stadium, after the construction of a new stand in 2022, and there will be 4 fan zones, which adds another 8,500 people who can watch it from the tropical night of Saint Monkey. There is also a garden, which offers a peaceful area for fans to relax, and many areas to picnic.

The Stage

The Stage has been recently updated with state of the art pyrotechnics, and has many features that make it unique from conventional music stage. Due to a performance in late 2015, the Unleashed Arena has become one of the only places you can see snow in Saint Monkey, with a snow machine at the top of the arena! There will also be drone awaiting any performers who wishes to use them during their performance, plus several more.

Special Stage Features of the Monsterdog Unleashed Arena


-35 Pyrotechnic machines spewing fire, fireworks and sparks
-5 Water Fountains in the front of the stage
-A Snow Machine at the top of the arena
-100 Drones equipped with strong LED lights, that can be flown around the Arena during performances
-A 45m wide video LED screen, and LED floor video screens
-Modern Light systems

Harry Chanda is a music journalist that is known for his work on commentary on popular music events such as NationVision and WorldVision. He commentated NV5-15 and NV18-21, and also did the commentary for WV111 and WV112. He has been in his job at SMBS for 6 years, and has been to many many music events, making him very experienced in this area, and a perfect host.

Aurora Kucera



Aurora Kucera is a highly talented artist, best known for her song “Borealis”. She has 10 number 1s in Saint Monkey. She’s 23 (b. 7th August 2000) years old and she graduated from the Music school. She is obviously known for her great voice but she’s also known for her support toward LGBTQ+, and she is also Bisexual herself. She can play the Piano and the Triangle. She’s known to be a bundle of Joy, making her perfect for this job and she also assisted Harry Chanda in commentating WV111, and announced the Jury results for WV112, making her a fantastic host!

Kapane Piña



Kapane Piña is an artist that is signed with Monsterdog Saint Monkey. She has has 9 releases on the record label, and has been involved in a lot of charity work and helping people in poverty across the planet, by giving them a chance in music and helped them find a future. She's behind the Monsterdog Saint Monkey Fund, which funds less fortunate families in developing countries across the world. She has also worked to save many animals from extinction. Monsterdog asked SMBS if she could co-host the contest if won, as she done so much for the world, and the SMBS agreed, and currently she, Harry and Aurora have got along with her very well!

The theme of the postcards will be music, and mainly, linking back to the slogan, "The Power of Music" what power it gives. Every Postcard will have a unique place in the Light City and Lightning Lake region that has a resemblance to music.

Places to Visit

Mt. Light (3154m)



Climb to the top of the Light City and the Lightning Lake region! There's plenty of paths to take to see all the incredible scenery of the Lait peaks and some awesome and friendly animals too! So for all you adventurers a 9 hour round trip from the Mt. Light Railway station. Or, if you feel more hardcore, take a 2 day trip starting from right at the bottom of the mountain, staying at a mountain hut overnight.

Lightning Lake



Tis is a place you gotta visit! The heart of the whole region, the Lightning Lake, biggest in Saint Monkey! It's full of endemic species, fishing areas, watersport areas, and even some beautiful beaches, so don't get upset you're not at the coast, there still some golden beaches lakeside!

Nito Tribe



Located in the South East of the region lies the Nito Tribe! Unfortunately you'll miss the Festival Tribes, ending one day before the beginning of WV113, however, there will still be at least 5 Tribes that remain for the Afterparty! So go and take a visit and see some incredible and unique culture you've never seen before!

Fenta Falls



Located in the south of the region, the Fenta Falls stands at the foot of the Fenta Southern Highlands. It is an honestly amazing place, tranquil, an awesome view and just incredible flowers and animals walking about, including the internets favourite, Capybaras!

Lightning!



And yes, the best part of it all, the Lightning, the literal soul of this place. Everywhere you look you'll see it, scary but incredible, stunning yet dangerous. It sure gets the attention of everyone, so just sit back, and see the power of nature here, and then maybe, start listening to some EDM, and see what is truly the Power of Music!
