[The West Pacific Card Club]

Welcome to the Monthly Collection Contests hosted by The West Pacific Card Club!

The Card Club has been hosting collection events in one form or another since 2020, with a regular monthly schedule dating back to 2022, and now we're bringing it to the forums so more people can participate!

At the start of each month, a new competition will be announced. The announcement post will explain the theme, and might give special criteria for bonus points when the collections are judged. Collectors will have the entire month to work on their entries, and must submit them before the end of the month.

In order to enter, simply post your collection link in this thread at any time during the month! (TWP residents can continue submitting on the RMB as usual, however.)

After the month ends, edits are no longer allowed, and the Card Czars Giovanniland and Laudesia will rank the collections! The winner and runner-up will always win a legendary card each, but extra prizes might also be awarded depending on participation, all prizes coming from Western Card Storage G.

With the start of March, The West Pacific Card Club is pleased to announce another competition, the Easter Card Contest!

Rules: Collect Easter and Spring themed cards to celebrate March 31st, Easter! In addition, we will have an Egg Hunt, bonus points will be awarded for finding Easter Eggs (Cards that have a colored egg on the flag)!

Submissions: You must submit a link to your collection in this thread by 23:59 EST 31st March, with no collection edits allowed after that. After that, the Card Club will judge all entries and declare a winner.

Prizes: The winner and the runner-up (selected from both TWP and NS forum entries) will each receive a legendary card. There may be bonus prizes depending on participation, so be sure to share this contest with your friends so they can also participate!

Hello hello! I decided to try this contest, I think you can see the cards I found this month here: https://www.nationstates.net/page=deck/collection=74588
I'm sure not all cards fit, and of course if you don't like them don't consider, but I must explain my (tremendous) logic behind every card!

Starting by Spring, I took all cards that have "Spring" in name, plus I found this card with "Spring" in pretitle: https://www.nationstates.net/page=deck/ ... 1/season=3
Then I thought what is spring for me, so I collected little colored birds and migrant birds (you will see swallow and storks).
Spring means flowers, so I took cards with flowers and pictures of flowers. I even found a nice sprout: https://www.nationstates.net/page=deck/ ... 4/season=3
Flowers call bees and butterflies, insects of spring, so I collected 3 or 4 cards with bees, even a legendary one, a butterfly and 2 caterpillars.

Easter was more difficult because I'm not religious. As before I collected cards with "Easter" in name.
I took some cards showing adult Jesus (even funny ones) and the cards with an empity cross.

I thought a symbol of the Easter could be the dove bird, especially white dove carrying an olive branch in its beak, so I collected many flags with that symbol. If I'm wrong just ignore them.
Easter means chocolate! And I added cards showing many kinds of chocolate and some sweeties.
Then there are bunny ears and bunnies. Also some creepy ones...
In ancient Babylon Ishtar was the goddess of the fertility, carrying eggs and bunnies, by chance even her name is pronounced as "easter": https://www.nationstates.net/page=deck/ ... 6/season=3

Third chapter, the eggs. Same as before, I bought all cards I could showing "Egg" in their name or in picture, even normal or cooked eggs, it's ok if they don't count.

I must mention few cards are in 2 copies, when I could catch 2 I took them both, nevermind if it doesn't count.

Thanks for patience if you read all my rants, but above all thanks for hosting this fun contest, I liked to search cards and use some (maybe too much) fanatsy!

EASTER CARD CONTEST RESULTS

Here are the results of the Easter Card Contest, brought to you Laudesia and me! This is the first contest also hosted on the forums and I appreciate the participation.

• Easter and Spring by Il Sonno della Ragione Genera Mostri is the winner! It has a diverse range of themed cards and also a detailed forum post explaining it.
• Easter by The Holy Principality of Saint Mark takes the second place! The idea of collecting flags with crosses, which celebrate Easter, is a creative one.
• And in third place comes Easter Eggs (+Spring) by Fotisdia! This collection was the largest of those submitted and has mainly cards with the Easter Egg issues badge.

The prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places are respectively the Season 3 legendaries Laudesia, Kaschovia and Cashdeer!

Thank you also to Con Nihawitan, Foressul and Murias for their participation, each will receive five Epic cards.

Rules: Collect cards that are funny to celebrate April 1st, April Fools day! In addition, we'll be having a card cap of 100 cards per entry (as a trial run) to encourage creativity over quantity, so choose the cards you find most humorous wisely!

Submissions: You must submit a link to your collection in this thread by 23:59 EST 30th April, with no collection edits allowed after that. Please tag your post with #FoolsCardContest so it can enter the competition! After that, the Card Club will judge all entries and declare a winner.

Prizes: The winner and the runner-up (selected from both TWP and NS forum entries) will each receive a legendary card. There may be bonus prizes depending on participation, so be sure to share this contest with your friends so they can also participate!

Announcement from the Card Club: The April Fools Card Contest has been cancelled due to the hardware failure's impact in trading cards. Me and Laudesia have also decided to put future monthly contests on hold, and will discuss more about our plans for their return when cards are back and we get to know the result of the recovery effort.
