Official Depth Chart for NSCF 30
7 time Celestia conference champions

Starters are underlined. Listed in the order of the depth chart.
Players currently redshirting are italicized.
All players are Banijan unless their nationality is otherwise specified.
Offensive and defensive strategies for the team listed under the coaching staff.

Offense

Quarterbacks
Last year, there was a ton of hoopla over who was going to be the starter. All Spring and Summer, Hurley was in competition with Levi Ayange. Ultimately, the senior QB beat out the highly talented freshman from Ranoria- but of course, he struggled as starter. Kabuye gave him chance after chance- but after 9 weeks, he was forced to bench his QB for Hurley. The team was almost immediately rejuvanted. So this offseason, there were no questions, just reps- Hurley taking rep after rep, oing in as the presumed starter, Is he going to be the man to lead NMU to their second ever NSCF title?

Wade Hurley(Ranoria). #3, Redshirt Sophomore. 6'6", 230 lb. Arm strength reminiscent of guys like Ballast Queen, Ifeatu Chineze, or Deondre Rhine. Heavily relied on physical talent in high school, but has good grades and a hard-nosed, leadership oriented demeanor - a good coaching staff could make him a menace, but fundamentals issues slid him down the rankings. Currently redshirting while Strom plays his senior year- expected to compete seriously next year for the starting job.
Bango Sonko. #4, Junior. 6'1, 205 pounds.
Buray Ceora. #8, Freshman. 6'3, 209 pounds.

Halfbacks
A team that has recently re-committed to pounding the rock and running the football, they plan to fully feature what Lance Kabuye feels is a two-headed monster at the tailback position. Both similar, bruising backs, the ability to have both take carries will allow the team to keep Kong and Kisero fresh. As Kabuye really wants to lean into the running game, expect the goal for each HB to get about 15 touches per game. Kong is the listed starter, of coruse, but both her and Kisero will get the lion's share of playing time.

Amira Kong(Chromatika). #28, Senior. 5'10, 205 pounds. Female.
Balinda Kisero. #23, Junior. 5'9, 197 pounds. #2 overall recruit out of Banija. 4.41 40 yard dash. Female.
Emmanuel Oruka. #20, Senior. 6'0, 199 pounds.
Sajaa Kibini. #24, Sophomore. 5'9, 182 pounds.

Fullback
For two years, Kabuye didn't have a fullback at all. People thought NMU was 'modernizing'. Horseshit. He's back to old-fasioned, smashmouth football- just as the NMU faithful dream of. Having a fullback room is his dream, and he's got one. There's no greater sign of a re-commitment to the run game than carrying not one, but two fullbacks on your roster. Springhorn is a coach's dream- first in the weight room, last to leave, hard hitter, old-school football player with football in his blood. He went viral on social media doing bench presses over the summer, and he'll be called up on to pave the way for NMU's big backs.

Horace Springhorn(Ranoria). #33, Sophomore. 6'2, 235 pounds.
Jatoo Usijang. #34, Junior. 6'4, 245 pounds.

Wide Receivers.
Despite NMU re-committing to the run, there is still plenty of talent and experience here at the WR position- five of their 6 WRs are returning from last year. It will be a big year for him- the star senior WR trying to show the world exactly how talented he really is. This year, there's plenty of talent behind him. Kyebanja and Conti were both elite out of HS, and showed themselves to be plenty good on the field. But remember- this WR room operates on a mantra of "no block no rock", and they consider themselves some of the best blocking WRs in the sport.

Tyler Geese(Chromatika). #1, Senior. 6'2, 201 pounds. #1 overall recruit out of Chromatika. Third year starter. Captain.
Okwayi Kyebanja. #8, Junior. 6'4, 227 pounds. #4 overall recruit out of Banija.
Alice Conti(South Newlandia). #80, Junior. #1 overall recruit out of South Newlandia.
Duta Kyambi. #11, Sophomore. 5'11, 197 pounds.
Ilman Jote. #88, Sophomore. 6'3, 211 pounds.
Tijan Toita. #14, Freshman. 5'10, 201 pounds.

Tight Ends.
Kimi Lundin(Valanora). #87, Redshirt Senior. 6'1, 192 lbs, Lefthanded. An exceptional dual purpose tight end who is that reliable security blanket for a quarterback who has gone through their progressions and needs a checkdown or a good lead blocker for a patient runner who runs behind their blockers. The only concern with Lundin is he has had a history of sprained ankles and wrists, making some wonder if he might be a little injury prone, if only with minor injuries. It is a label that Lundin is desperately trying to shake as he moves into his collegiate career. Former #3 overall recruit out of Valanora. First year starter.
Lutalo Ssenkaaba.#89, Senior. 6'3, 231 pounds. First year starter.
Galabba Ssemakalu. #86, Senior. 6'1, 227 pounds. Receiving Tight End.

Offensive Line
An interesting mixture on this offensive line- a four year starter at RG, a third year starter at LT, and then, everywhere else- you have first year starters. "A lot is up to our experienced players to bring the rest of the line up to speed." Kabuye told reporters. And for a run first football team, that's just something that is absolutely crucial for them and their success this season. The linemen seem up to the challenge. In Spring practices, their physicality was noted, and a few of them were noted to be the "stars" of practice- but can that translate to Saturdays?

Left Tackle.
Karwana Kakaddé. #73, Senior. 6'3, 300 pounds. Third year as a starter.
Moses Leek(Chromatika). #62, Sophomore.
Jamos Bawa. #65, Junoir. 6'4, 299 pounds.

Left Guard.
Allabatou Siwangeh, #50. Junior. 6'6, 302 pounds. First year starter.
Keemoo Sanya. #66, Freshman. 6'4, 300 pounds.

Center.
Saaki Asayate. #60, Junior. 6'1, 297 pounds. First year starter.
Wasswa Sait. #57, Sophomore. 6'0, 281 pounds.
Salaar Talsa. #61, Freshman. 6'1, 298 pounds.

Right Guard.
Rhamodre Grier(Ranoria). #64, Senior. 6'5, 310 pounds. #2 overall recruit out of Ranoria. Fourth year as a starter. Captain.
Yorro Jarru. #68, Redshirt Junior. 6'6, 312 pounds. Grad Transfer from the University of Bunyoro.

Right Tackle..
Samo Coybari. #67, Junior. 6'0, 287 pounds. First year starter.
Bambada Kiso. #77, Freshman. 6'1, 299 poounds.
Jallom Gaye. #79, Freshman. 6'4, 307 poounds.

Defense 4-2-5.

Defensive Line
Kabuye's got this desire to be this smashmouth football team on offense, and all the personnel seems to be locked and loaded on that front. On the defensive side of the football, however, the front 4 is going to be a lot about development. Kang Joseph is going to be the centerpiece of the passrush. While quite light for an EDGE rusher, he's got crazy strength and wicked quickness. The thing is, can NMU prevent the double teams? The other DEs on this team simply leave a lot to be desired in terms of raw talent.

The interior DL leaves something to be desired, as there's not a ton of experience there. Some big dudes on the interior DL, of course- but nobody's really showed that they have star potential. Yet, anyways. Can the DL prove the haters wrong and really control the line of scrimmage? They will have to anchor this front 7, and if they can't get Kang Joseph help, it may be a long year for the Cougars...

Left EDGE.
Kang Joseph(Chromatika). #97, Junior. 6'3, 208 pounds. Second year starter.
Baxa Ny. #90, Freshman. 6'3, 266 pounds.

Right EDGE.
Kiho Mukwaya. #91, Senior. 6'4, 277 pounds. First year starter.
Lallo Disora. #96, Freshman. 6'5, 291 pounds.

Defensive Tackle.
Jewru Bayo. #98, Senior. 6'3, 299 pounds. Second year starter.
Cormac O'Hennessy(Banijan Esportivan Territories). #93, Sophomore. 6'4, 288 pounds.
Mufri Sata. #95, Freshman. 6'6, 323 pounds.
Ketabou Benni. #99, Senior. 6'4, 299 pounds.

Linebacker.
Once again, a defense that wants to be strong in the trenches, and in the front 7, has Qs at linebacker. They've got a certified stud- Carmen Dior. Starting as a true freshman is rare, but Carmen Dior not only did it, but acquitted herself quite nicely in the big leagues. Had some freshman moments, of course, but NMU is sick and tired of hearing and reading about how Loyola's back. This is the core of what they want to be- and the questions at the other LB spot loom large. Bango Mita is the starter right now, but that's not necessarily true all year- Kasomba is expected to get plenty of playing time at the other LB spot as well. We'll see if somebody can win the job throughout the season.

Carmen Dior(Chromatika). #40, Sophomore. 6'2, 207 pounds. First year starter.
Bango Mita. #48, Senior. 6'4, 224 pounds.
Ejau Kasomba. #55, Junior. 6'2, 213 pounds.
Mukhwana Kinyaamye. #54, Freshman. 6'0, 212 pounds.
Zesiro Muvawala. #56, Freshman. 6'1, 211 pounds.

Secondary
A position group of ever-growing importance as the passing game takes over, this is a strength for NMU. Starting with the safeties- Malcolm Shelvin is an all-world player at free safety. He can do it all. Cover guys one on one, open field tackles, be a defensive field general, make hits, etc... It all starts with him. Pair him with Bojana Rasic Kim, the Strong Safety who's built like a pickup, and you've got a pair of safeties who are out here trying to take off heads- although they've got to be careful to avoid those pesky targeting calls. At the corner position, the team is mostly settled- Dutta has settled the nickel back spot, while Abigail Washington's enormous talent is showing as this will be her third year as the CB1. There was fierce competition opposite her, but Michael Carson won the job- and the massive Chromatik looks ready to show his chops as a top CB.

Cornerbacks.
Abigail Washington(Ranoria). #22, Junior. Female. Her senior year of HS, majority of targets were picks(7 INTs on 12 targets). Insanely talented- but also raw and young. Third year starter.
Michael Larson(Chromatika). #39. Sophomore. 6'7, 209 pounds.
Sai Dutta(South Newlandia). #31, Senior. 6'0, 201 pounds. Starting Nickel back. #5 overall recruit out of South Newlandia.
Otem Ssempabuka. #23, Redshirt Junior. 6'1, 201 pounds. Transfer from Sankt Adelheid University.
Okello Buj. #2, Freshman. 5'10, 200 pounds.
Kabonesa Baali. #20, Sophomore. 5'11, 207 pounds.

Strong Safety.
Bojana Rasic Kim(Quebec). #26, Senior. 6'4, 225 pounds. #3 overall recruit out of Quebec. 4.55 40 yard dash. Third year starter.
Isingoma Maddu. #32, Freshman. 6'2, 201 pounds.

Free Safety.
Malcolm Shelvin(Ranoria). #19, Senior. 6'2, 200 pounds. #4 overall recruit out of Ranoria. Fourth year starter. Captain.
Zayne Navarro(Berdeng Bundok). #36, Redshirt Senior. 6'0, 201 pounds.

For clarity's sake- My punter is the holder for field goals, just to be clear. My kicker does both kickoffs and onside kicks. Lastly, my kicker is my backup punter and my punter is my backup kicker, just in case you RP an injury to one.

The opposite of Loyola. While the returners are back, all the specialist positions are changing- the long snapper, both punters, and the kicker all graduated. So there are huge questions at the specialist positions, with all three being freshmen. Of course, they lost Woodbrough, which is an upgrade- the South Newlandian was a disaster all four years as a punter and holder. But of course, they also graduated the greatest kicker in NSCF history- Dwayne Markseon, just elite from all distances. All sorts of clutch.

While these specialists are young, don't expect long-term loyalty from Kabuye- they'll expect to try and get themselves a Chromatik kicker for NSCF 31.

Long-Snapper
Ndahura Kalema. #67, Freshman.

Kick/Punt Returner.
Zayne Navarro(Berdeng Bundok). #36, Redshirt Senior. 6'0, 201 pounds. Backup free safety.
Sai Dutta(South Newlandia). #31, Senior. 6'0, 201 pounds. #5 overall recruit out of South Newlandia. Team's primary nickel back.

Kicker.
Kamoga Kirabira. #4, Freshman.

Punter & Holder
Sanyu Ssegonja. #7, Freshman.

Head Coach: Lance Kabuye. 75 years old. The Head Coach is in his twelfth season at Northern Moravica. Being hired in what many would describe as an 'awkward situation' in the beginning- the previous coach, himself fired, who then maneuvered his own way to being Athletic Director, and picking his own successor. Many coaches would not have done that, but they have a great AD-head coach relationship, and the results cannot be argued with. In four of Kabuye's first 7 seven seasons, they reached the NSCF Championship game, winning the whole thing in NSCF 19. They are the defending Celestia Conference champions, and Kabuye is defined by his energy.

He's looking to return to a more smashmouth style of football- and has his team set up to be more ground & pound, grind & grit, than he has in years past. He's got a burning, passionate hatred for Loyola-Istria- and even as he gets up there in age (75 years young!), the burning passion and desire to win his second NSCF title burns just as strongly.

Kabuye was the head coach of Wild Valley University, a smaller school in the eastern part of the Moravica region, for 6 years, before moving to Northern Moravica and the NSCF ahead of NSCF 19.

Offensive Coordinator & Assistant Head Coach: Kizza Otiembo. 45 years old. 3rd year at Northern Moravica. Formerly the OC at Kizza I College for four seasons, before moving to this job. With this OC, the team is really committing to the running game. And, of course, stability at the coordinator positions. With a pair of talented young HBs in Amira Kong and Balinda Kisero, this offense is going to turn into a ground & pound- looking to be one of those offenses that runs the ball more than they pass it, with some even saying they will end up with a 60/40 run-pass split.

The passing game was up and down last year- so that's a challenge for Otiembo this year. Can he elevate the passing game to where it needs to be for this team to win a national title?

Other Offensive Coaches
Quarterbacks Coach: Abraham Musa. 46 years old. 3rd year at Northern.
Offensive Line Coach: Elizabeth Birungi. 48 years old. 3rd year at Northern. Female. Older sister of the WRs coach, Kizza Birungi.
Tight Ends Coach: Ali Jawara. 56 years old. 3rd year at Northern.
Wide Receivers Coach: Kizza Birungi. 43 years old. 5th year at Northern.
Runnings Back Coach: Allan Xoosh. 49 years old. 3rd year at Northern.

Defensive Coordinator & Assistant Head Coach: Okello Resa. 54 years old. He is entering his sixth season as the team's defensive coordinator. Now he's got a talented, experience defense- and they are fully making the transition to a more modern 4-2-5 base defense, only running out two starting linebackers to combat the more spread-style offenses that are being introduced into modern college football.

This year, the strength of the defense is in the secondary -with players like Shelvin and Washington back there, he wants to see if the NMU secondary can be established as a trule no-fly zone.

Other Defensive Coaches
Defensive Line Coach: Corban Opiyo. 50 years old. 6th season at Northern, came from the same position at Hangaza A&M.
Linebackers Coach: Ahemed Gedeyon. 46 years old. 6th season at Northern, was the team's starting middle linebacker during NSCF 17.
Cornerbacks Coach: Omoit Lwegaba. 39 years old. 4th season at Northern, a former high school head coach. Only 1st year coach on the staff.
Safeties Coach: Barabbas Ogolo. 43 years old. 6th season at Northern, a well-connected local high school coach.

Special Teams Coordinator:Sebowa Zilaba. 54 years old. 5th year as Special Teams Coordinator. Consistent. Biggest challenge so far- is this transfer kicker he found from Utah Valley good enough to handle the harsh spotlight of Northern Moravica? Only time will tell.

Strength & Conditioning Coach: Odikinyi Achuka. 55 years old. 8th season as Strength & Conditioning Coach.

Recruiting Coordinator: Phoebe Odero. Female. 52 years old. 6th season as Recruiting Coordinator. One of two women on the coaching staff.

Rivals: Currently the biggest rival of Northern Moravica University is the University of Loyola-Istria, who the Cougars have played at least once a season the last 60 seasons. They have played each other 30 times in NSCF competition, with Northern being 18-14 overall against their archrivals to the South. This includes the two teams splitting their playoff matchups. They've had the better of Loyola at least once every season in the NSCF, including sweeping Loyola in NSCF 13, NSCF 22, and NSCF 24. However, last season, NSCF 28, was the first time NMU got swept by their archrivals in NSCF competition- including a 63-7 shellacking at the Lightning Yard to end last season. These two teams have long been seen as the top two college football teams in Banija, and indeed, their stranglehold over Banijan college sports has continued, as they dominate not only in football, the biggest collegiate sport, but most other sports as well. When it was discussed for which team should debut Banija on the world stage for college football, it ultimately came down to these two, and after heating exchanges of words between both Athletic Directors and School Presidents in public, and the Mayors of Istria & Herzegovina City, the Banijan College Sports Group(BCSG) decided on a 11-8 vote to send Northern. Domestically, the fallout was so bad, that although they had shared a conference since independence, on a domestic basis, Loyola-Istria split away from NMU into a different conference. The two schools played a thriller in the NSCF 18 quarterfinals, a matchup won by the Blue Thunder. With Loyola's incredible postseason runs in the NSCF, they finally regained the upper hand in this rivalry when they downed Loyola-Istria at the Istria Lightning Yard in the NSCF 19 semifinals, en route to their first ever NSCF title. In recent years, Northern Moravica has gained the upper hand in the rivalry. Northern Moravica has won 6 of the last 7 games in the rivalry, including sweeps in both NSCF 22 and NSCF 24. NMU had reeled off four consecutive wins at the Istria Lightning Yard between NSCFs 21 and 24, although NSCF 26 & 27 saw the home teams reigh victorious in this rivalry.

While traditionally in the NSCF, NMU have played at home first, and Loyola-Istria have played at home second, this was reversed for the first time last season. However, with the new divisional setup, the order will switch ever year.

An on and off NSCF rival is the former Vietussia Academy- now known as Hankow State University. They have played a number of games against the former Vietussia Academy when both schools were members of the Celestia Conference in NSCFs 13 and 14. The two former conference rivals play each other for the Golden Axe. When Vietussia Academy returned to the NSCF for NSCF 18 as part of a different conference, the two teams played each other on the final game of the season in United Vietussia. With Hankow State's return to the NSCF two years ago, NMU held onto the Golden Axe by smashing them in the final week of the regular season at home, 55-30, to improve to 3-3 in the rivalry. The rivalry has returned to the Celestia conference, as Hankow State has been placed in the opposite division, across NMU, and NMU held onto the axe, with a 20 point home victory last year to improve to 4-3 in this rivalry.

A former Celestia Conference NSCF rival are the Salamantic Universities. The Salamantic Universities and Northern Moravica split the season series in NSCF 19-21, but the Salamantic Universities swept Northern in NSCF 22(in fact, they swept both Banijan schools). With them competing in the Celestia Conference, the rivalry continues to grow more heated between the schools every year. The official name of the trophy between the two schools is the 'Felinology Trophy', although students from both sides have unofficially named the trophy the 'Trophy of the Ancients' since the matchup is Cougars versus Professors. While Northern Moravica administrators were clear to say that was not the rivalry trophy's official name, with the lack of an official name, that has been the name tossed around by various outlets discussing the new rivalry. Northern Moravica has an all-time record of 5-7 against the Salamantics, and they presently are the trophy holders after a 21-0 shutout victory at home on Matchday 7.

The University of the Commonwealth of Baker Park is also considered a major foreign rival of Northern Moravica. These two teams have played every single season since UC-Baker Park joined the NSCF. The only season they did not schedule each other was NSCF 21, but the fates decided the two would play anyways, in the first round of the playoffs. UC-Baker Park won the sole playoff matchup between the two schools, 27-21. Northern Moravica has an all-time record of 4-4 against UC-Baker Park. There is no name nor trophy for this rivalry- but it is considered a scheduling priority for both schools every single year. The rivalry will be resurrected on the last game of the season, the first time it has been played in 4 seasons.

Elephant Valley University of South Newlandia is considered Northern Moravica's newest conference rival. The two schools contested the 'Sally Trophy' for the first time last season, created between the two schools to honor the relationship between the two countries. The Sally Trophy is named after an elephant named Sally, which was the very first elephant to be brought to South Newlandia. This elephant, of course, came from Banija, where elephants are populous. The elephant ended up becoming the national animal of South Newlandia, and of course, the animal is the namesake for EVU. Northern Moravica won the first seven games in this rivalry, with the Sally Trophy being a fixture in the school's trophy case. However, the rivalry has ratcheted up, with EVU finally earning their first win over the Cougars, in a huge upset in Week 9 last season. Not only did they take the Sally Trophy for the entire Summer- but, to add insult to injury, that upset knocked NMU out of the Celestia Conference title race entirely. NMU will be eager to reclaim the elephant-shaped trophy in week 2, in a rivalry where they are currently 7-1 over EVU.

Lastly, Northern Moravica have developed a very recently, but fierce rivalry with former Celestia Conference rivals Woodstock University, of Sarzonia. The general Banijan-Sarzonian rivalry spilling over to college football, NMU is smarting at one of the few opponents who seem to consistently have their number. They have played both in non-conference and in-conference, and NMU had their first win in this rivalry over Woodstock last season, becoming the 'King of the Mountain' with their crushing 47-6 win over Woodstock U. They are 1-3 all-time against Woodstock.

Entrance: There is a unique stadium entrance at home games for the Cougars football team. A starting senior on each side of the football stands outside the tunnel, each one holding the school flag. They stand opposite each other with the flags lowered, and then raise the flags and let the entire team run through. After the team and staff runs through, those two starters run to the middle of the field and each plant their flag on the logo, signifying that this is their home field, and that they will fight to defend home field.

Championships: Northern Moravica has eight Celestia Conference championships in 15 NSCF seasons, winning the conference title in NSCF 12, NSCF 13, NSCF 17, NSCF 18, NSCF 19, NSCF 23, NSCF 24, and NSCF 28. They won their only NSCF championship in NSCF 19. They finished as runner-ups in NSCF 20, NSCF 23, and NSCF 25. They also have the longest active playoff appearance streak in the NSCF, having appeared in the NSCF playoffs in every season since their return in NSCF 17, which is now at 12 consecutive seasons and counting.

Jays reach a tie with Constantinople, look to win division in sophomore season.

This season has been the wackiest that UCP has ever been a part of.

Starting the year, the Redbirds were fittingly red-hot, Craig Kelly was on the verge of being murdered by absolutely hammered fans, GCU was red-hot, and overall, not many expectations for HC Craig Kelly, other than not losing the first four games in a row again.

Skipping to midseason and, oh, wow. GCU's only loss is to UCP, Constantinople is now good, Alexandroupolis is slumping, UCBP's making a resurgence, and UCP is 3-2, pretty average.

Skipping to now, it's a pretty safe bet to say that nobody had UCP tied for the division lead heading into week 10, with a chance to go to the conference championship game. UCP is 6-3, Constantinople is 6-3, and the once-hot Alexandroupolis is 3-6. What is happening. If you were to tell me that the Jays had a shot at the division this year, I without a doubt in my mind would tell you you're crazy, but it's true. Coming off of a Pioneer Bowl victory, everyone had the Jays at 4-6 or 5-5 again, just lying down and taking it from the bigger teams, but their only loss against a contender was UCBP in week 7, who are about to win the Heartland.

It's undeniable that Craig Kelly has had a miracle season so far, but it really makes you think that those people at the office gates did motivate him. I'm not trying to walk away here saying murder gets you places, but interpret that "coincidence" how you will. I just can't wait to see how this goofy season ends.

Elite Conference
Predicted Order of Finish:

1. Mt. Niar High School Anacondas
Location: Felswyr, Mountain District
Key Players:
Senior Quarterback Dante Flowers (RAN)
Senior Running Back Prince Killart
Senior Defensive Tackle Roland Kyak
Senior Middle Linebacker Evan Derder
Senior Free Safety Valyn Ekler
Senior Center Ekler Jimmek
Senior Kicker Mara Toog
Junior Wide Receiver Millie Harangyar
Junior Tight End Samantha Ysalt
Summary: Uh... Yeah. The defending champions return with almost everyone of importance - with MVP Dante Flowers at Quarterback, the battering ram that is Prince Killart, the menace of Roland Kyak at the middle of the defensive line, Evan Derder running things, Valyn Ekler roaming the secondary, and Ekler Jimmek and Mara Toog transferring in from the now-defunct schools. Millie Harangyar will need to take over the void that Earl Silverman has left behind, but with Samantha Ysalt being a dual-threat Tight End, there is no reason why this team shouldn't be at the top of the Elite Conference and make a difference in the playoffs.

2. Myana Northwestern High School Blue and White
Location: Myana, Myana Island
Key Players:
Senior Quarterback Lina Goodson
Senior Left Guard Harold Teller
Senior Strong Safety Jody Kaines
Senior Punter Leonard Gusthaven
Junior Running Back Creed Jackson-Smith
Junior Defensive End Alexander Eisenberg (RAN)
Junior Kicker Maia Illytebovich
Sophomore Tight End Gorgo Lusmon
Sophomore Cornerback Pan Yileng
Sophomore Wide Receiver Mark Lutt
Summary: The void left behind by Nicole Estera is filled by the acquisition of one of the better Quarterbacks in the country - Lina Goodson, who was the signal caller for the Academy of the Jungle Cats for the last three seasons. Now, with the school being rebuilt after the Abyssal invasion, she steps into Myana Northwestern - with the Blue and White ready to give it another go. Left Guard Harold Teller will watch her blind side, Jody Kaines will be the hammer while Alexander Eisenberg chases down the opposing Quarterback, Pan Yileng will lock down his side, and the Special Teams are in the good hands of Maia Illytebovich and Leonard Gusthaven. Add in the versatile weapon that is Creed Jackson-Smith, the deep threat of Mark Lutt and the security blanket that Gorgo Lusmon has become, and there is no reason why the Championship shouldn't be a rematch.

3. Staramara Tech High School Battle Angels
Location: Urrheddiao, Urrhed Island
Key Players:
Senior Outside Linebacker Freya Odinsdóttir
Senior Wide Receiver Reed Shok
Senior Defensive End Eden Pontfellier
Senior Cornerback Vera Éloit
Sophomore Kicker George Damien
Freshman Quarterback Mishael Forgonn
Summary: The Battle Angels' presence in the Elite Conference is absolutely earned - they are the king of Staramara. Freya Odinsdóttir is a human missile, a turnover machine, and someone who can single-handedly wreck a game - a true MVP candidate; Eden Pontfellier returns as the speedy edge rusher, Vera Éloit can cover almost anyone, and Reed Shok is the speedster. Their biggest question mark is their new Quarterback, Mishael Forgonn - a southpaw that likes to stand in the pocket, survey the field, and make surgical throws. He fits the Battle Angels' mold well, but he'll have his hands full. With Freya's presence and guidance, though, the Battle Angels should be fine.

4. Franscesca Larriet-Cortes High School Martyrs
Location: Chromia, Capital District
Key Players:
Senior Wide Receiver Yi Xia
Junior Kicker Jade Till
Sophomore Running Back Ray Donnovan
Sophomore Quarterback Darin Piltoffer
Summary: Is it possible to say a team should finish in the top four of a Conference like this one just based on their offense? When you're the Martyrs, yes. Darin Piltoffer has a quick release and surprising mobility - it's really shown up in the first year. Yi Xia is someone who can get over 100 yards a day without much issue, Ray Donnovan is also good for over 100 yards a day, and Jade Till almost never misses. Sure, their defense doesn't have any notable players, but if you can score in the thirties every game, will it even matter?

5. The Chromatik Institute Dread
Location: Chromia, Capital District
Key Players:
Senior Running Back Briana Heaveworth
Senior Free Safety Freddy Vicks
Senior Kicker Aaron Judge
Junior Cornerback Joseph King
Junior Quarterback Carla Vosin
Junior Defensive End Isabelle Creer
Sophomore Tight End Yavin Ott
Summary: Gone is Raul Sébastien Santos, off to Quebec and Shingoryeo; Carla Vosin's transfer absolutely helps in that regard, as having an experienced signal caller will help. Briana Havensworth is one of the best dual-purpose backs in the country, while Freddy Vicks is the ball hawk and Joseph King a great corner; Isabelle Creer is the reliable pass rushing defensive end, Yavin Ott the offense's best security blanket, and Aaron Judge rarely misses. They have a lot of good pieces, but the X factor that is RSS will be sorely missed.

6. Tears of the Revolution High School Saints
Location: Lanar, Rainbow District
Key Players:
Senior Wide Receiver Yara Mood
Senior Quarterback Samuel Hodges
Junior Strong Safety Roy Hilcrest
Junior Outside Linebacker Sandy Pom
Junior Wide Receiver Kimberley Dread
Junior Kicker Will Jaire
Summary: A team in the Rainbow District ranked sixth? The Saints were a perennial contender before the Elite Conference days, and with the acquisition of one Samuel Hodges from Bouveil Historical, they will be a threat. Yara Mood and Kimberley Dread offer two varied targets – Mood being the speedster and Dread the possession receiver, while Sandy Pom is a good coverage linebacker and Roy Hilcrest can roam the secondary. Will Jaire is the reliable leg that puts the ball through the uprights. They may be ranked sixth, but expect them to contend for the Winners’ Bracket.

7. Tihon Elite Academy Fog Wall
Location: Tihon, Urrhed Island
Key Players:
Senior Quarterback Cad Filox
Senior Running Back Tina Hend
Senior Free Safety Skylar Indero
Junior Wide Receiver Nils Jonke
Junior Middle Linebacker Rostyslav Illich Kysil
Junior Cornerback Neil Blackburn
Summary: The Fog Wall, ranked this low? The other schools just look a little better than them. Cad Filox is the bruising Quarterback that can also carry the ball, while Niles Jonke is the 6’ 11” deep threat going deep every throw; Tina Hend serves well as a workhorse back, while Rostyslav Illich Kysil is the speedy linebacker that just runs over people. Skylar Indero’s addition shores up the back end, and Neil Blackburn can cover most receiving targets. They just lack the oomph factor, but how much will that matter?

8. Vitoron School of Charge Robots
Location: Vitoron, Capital District
Key Players:
Senior Wide Receiver Stephen Marx
Senior Free Safety Amber Lynne
Junior Kicker Dairon Wetters
Sophomore Quarterback Sidney Jones
Summary: The Robots make their entry into the Elite Conference, led by Sidney Jones – who had a decent first season under center. Stephen Marx is the remaining member of what was once an elite receiving core – he can really stretch the field. Amber Lynne is the physical free safety that can cover any threat across the middle, and Dairon Wetters can make almost any kick from under fifty yards. Jones has a lot to do – and in such an Elite Conference, it won’t be easy.

9. Chromatik Army High School Recruits
Location: Knetyohai, Rainbow District
Key Players:
Senior Cornerback Kang Doon
Senior Free Safety Swain Cadillac
Junior Running Back Angie Pyre
Junior Wide Receiver Heidi Sundstrom
Junior Kicker Maurice Flare
Sophomore Quarterback Jair Lleyamana
Summary: If there is a team that can make a charge up, it’s the Recruits. Jair Lleyamana is an enigma – he’s elusive, he has great energy, and he has pinpoint accuracy – how much will he grow? Heidi Sundstrom’s presence helps a lot – she’s reliable, she’s sure-handed, and she’s quick. Kang Doon ties up the back end, Swain Cadillac is a star, and Angie Pyre is a bruising back. Maurice Flare is their kicker, and don’t be surprised if they finish in the top five – it’ll depend on just how fast Jair grows.

10. Crix Technical High School Chameleons
Location: Crix, Heartland District
Key Players:
Senior Kicker Darian Milloy
Junior Tight End Rudy Gallagher
Junior Cornerback Paula Leem
Sophomore Quarterback Larry Heim
Summary: There was some controversy that Crix Technical School would be the school from the Heartland to make it to the Elite Conference. West Shantarr and East Shantarr supposedly turned them down, the City of Lorentine High School was snubbed. The Chameleons used to be known for their defense – but the most recognizable member of that defense is Paula Leem, a ball hawk. He will be responsible for getting the rest of the defense into shape, but at least the offensive side will be decent – Larry Heim being accurate within forty yards, Rudy Gallagher being the reliable tight end, and Darian Milloy to kick Field Goals from range. Can their defense continue to step up?

“Look, last time just wasn’t good enough. We sucked, we blew it. We weren’t good enough, that’s it.

We got spanked, we fucked it up. That’s on me, that’s on you, that’s on us as a team. We’ve spent a week working on that shit, so let’s put our helmet on, get strapped in, and go out there and play a game of football.

I love you guys, I love this team and everything we’ve got, so let’s give it our all.

Let’s go Broncos!”

Bobby Dimes strode onto the field, perhaps the last time in conference play as a Bronco. This was it. This was the moment, his moment…

Cardenao High School League End of Season Receiving Stats

Receiving Stats:
Receiving Yards:
1. Andrew Legnfish, Junior-WR/FIC 548 yards
2. Dallas Simmons, Sophomore-WR/BRØ 508 yards
3. Jamarcus Smith, Junior-WR/JCE 486 yards
4. Ammon Tart, Senior-WR/HAT 478 yards
5. Justice Harmon, Senior-WR/RIS 440 yards
6. Elgin Spencer, Senior-WR/BRØ 429 yards
7. Kyle Session, Senior-WR/FIC 396 yards
8. Miles Sikes, Senior-WR/TMW 365 yards
9. Jaquan Wallace, Junior-WR/CAR 337 yards
10. Kyle Ball, Senior-WR/HAT 296 yards

One name stands head and shoulders above all else and it’s the junior Andrew Legnfish who was having a fantastic high school football season before it all got canceled. Six games, league leading 548 yards, tied for leading the league with five touchdowns, he was spectacular. 6’2, world class speed, lean and athletic, basketball captain and star of the track and field team, the kid is as good a prospect as Cardenao has seen in recent years. By the way, right behind him in second place for total receiving yards is sophomore Dallas Simmons. Are his stats inflated by having Michael Monrovia throwing the ball as part of the best offense in the country? That seems likely. Is he still seemingly a legitimately talented player with a lot of potential? That seems likely. Jamarcus Smith had a great season as he enjoyed being the main target for junior QB Patrick Massaquoi and the J.C. Evermore Golden Titans offense, he’s adequately sized at 6’ 175lbs but he’s certainly hyper-athletic with his dynamism in track and field with a sub 10.6 second 100m and 21.02 200m times. Like a killer, he combines those qualities with natural receiver instincts as he tracks well downfield and displays a high level ability to navigate traffic with terrific adjustments and body control. Ammon Tart’s 478 yards was good enough for fourth in the country and he heads off a string of five senior wide receivers. You can’t help but think AT-AT would get more yardage if he didn’t have a sophomore quarterback chucking him the ball, but nevertheless the 6’3 205lbs smasher showed his ability as an elite receiver.

Receiving Touchdowns:
1. Andrew Legnfish, Junior-WR/FIC 5
2. Justice Harmon, Senior/RIS 5
3. Kyle Ball, Senior-WR/HAT 4
4. Jamarcus Smith, Junior-WR/JCE 4
5. Avery Nichols, Freshman-WR/TMW 3
6. Kyle Session, Senior-WR/FIC 3
7. Dallas Simmons, Sophomore-WR/BRØ 3
8. Zach Smith, Sophomore-WR/BRØ 3
9. Elgin Spencer, Senior-WR/BRØ 3
10. Cortney Allen, Senior-RB/RIS 2[/pre]

Once again, a junior leads the receiving chart…once again, it’s the junior. Andrew Legnfish, five touchdowns including a 63 yard long bomb against Obyedako High, the kid is legit, what more really needs to be said? Justice Harmon finished with five touchdowns as well, with the senior showcasing his elite vertical and body control to make ridiculous catches in traffic. Kyle Ball, the senior out of Hatathia High, was third in the nation with his four TDs in six games as he dominated the slot position despite his 5’10, 180lbs build. Athletic build with explosive lower half, great at winning 50-50s as he plays bigger than his size with quite a bit of bite and edge, it’s easy to see why he’s a highly rated prospect. Perhaps the biggest surprise of the season is the appearance of a freshman who caught the five most touchdown passes this season, Avery Nichols of the Timberline Wolves, who caught for 228 yards overall on the season with his three touchdown passes, which bodes well for the future of a burgeoning Cardenaoan receiver pipeline. Another surprise inclusion is that of Cortney Allen, with the running back’s two receiving touchdowns complementing his three rushing TDs and 305 yards on the ground, oh and he also caught the ball for 169 yards.

Cardenao Wide Receiver CFB Prospects

1. Justice Harmon, 6’2, 175lbs Riverstone International School Otters
Right handed, Playmaker *****
440 yards/5 TD

Justice Harmon is just one of those prospects who seems to be good at pretty much everything. Tall yet built with a slender frame at 6’2, 175lbs, Justice established himself as a go-to target on what has been a traditionally high-volume passing offense, with his 440 yards coming from how he plays much bigger than his build thanks to his elite body control and natural levitation ability to bounce up, elevate, and make contested grabs on the perimeter. He’s a smart, savvy route runner who can sink his hips to get low and build power before exploding in or out of his breaks, and Justice has good vision to track the football over his shoulder. Despite his comparatively small build, the Riverstone Otter doesn’t shy away from contact and isn’t afraid to get his jersey dirty to move the chains.

Justice turned in his best performance of the year as the Otters handedly beat the best team in the country, the Brøgby Miners, as he went for 93 yards and two touchdowns on nine catches. He’s not exactly a burner, but he can definitely build up momentum with enough runway but he’s quick enough and has the vertical ability to make up for being a tenth of a step slower.

Coming into college football, it’s clear a year or two in their weight room will only do Justice Harmon good as it will not only improve his functional strength, but also with his strength at executing his play responsibilities. He’s got the heart, if not all the muscles, and doesn’t shy away from his blocking responsibilities and seems to relish the chance to smash someone. Justice mustice keep developing his skills and his body, but it’s clear he has the ability to blossom into an impact player for a college football playoff and perhaps be paid to play one day.

2. Ammon Tart, 6'3, 205lbs Hathathia High School Pirates
Right handed, Physical ****
478 yards/2TD

Ammon Tart is every cornerback’s worst nightmare. Tall, powerful, fast, and he knows how to abuse rules that favor physicality from receivers, not against them, oh yeah, he’s pretty good at catching the ball too. At 6’3, 205lbs, Ammon has a game ready physical profile, with long arms that extend smoothly to secure the ball. A multi-sport athlete in basketball and track and field, it’s easy to see Ammon’s excellent overall athleticism on full display with a 37-inch vertical and 4.58 forty time, and that explosiveness and speed is shown when he sticks his foot in the ground and changes directions smoothly to get in and out of cuts easily.

AT-AT was a very reliable target for sophomore Stan Aniol Dereschi, with Tart achieving just under 30% of the Hatathia Pirates total pass yardage. This was made possible by Ammon being a natural receiver with soft hands who doesn’t fight the ball, and has excellent body control when going up for 50/50 balls, which he wins a majority of the time as he simply outjumps most defenders. 478 yards shows his overall skill, but the two touchdowns was pretty disappointing for a player with his physical ability and talent profile. True, he did have a sophomore quarterback throwing the ball, but you would think that would make Ammon the go-to target in the endzone, but that ended up going to fellow senior Kyle Ball.

It’s clear to everyone with eyes that Ammon Tart has the potential to be a special receiver if he can land on a team with a pass-first mentality and a QB who loves to let it fly. AT-AT’s overall ability, skill, and intangibles will make him a ready-option from day one, though he will need coaching refinement to maximize his skillset.

3. Miles Sikes, 6’3 190lbs Timberline Wolves
Left handed, Deep Threat ****
365 yards/2TD

A long, lanky open field runner, Miles Sikes is a rough prospect with ideal length and growth potential. 6 foot 3, 190 pounds, great initial burst of pace off the line, above average play speed, and he knows how to use his size and wide catch radius when he goes up in the air. His raw physical attributes alone make him a solid player as he gets in and out of breaks quickly and easily wiggles around tackles as a runner. The issue comes with his route running and general concentration/adherence to the game plan as a skill player. As a freak athlete in high school, Miles frequently called his own shots, deviating from his route and creating opportunities through his sheer ability, which is…“fine” at the high school level but that won’t fly at the college level.

Ultimately, going somewhere with a strict head coach who holds Miles Sikes to a certain standard might be what gets the most out of him. He’ll need a year or two to fully develop into his frame, and if he can stay disciplined in the film room and really polish his route running ability, he has a chance to be a high level contributor as an upperclassman. All things considered, he can definitely see some snaps as a freshman, but ultimately he projects to be a multi-year starter with route running developmental upside.

4. Elgin Spencer, 5’11 198lbs Brøgby Preparatory Academy Miners
Right handed, Playmaker ****
429 yards/3TD

One of the more established names in this class, Elgin Spencer burst onto the scene as a 5’11 178 pound 8th grader who wracked up accolade after accolade and set tongues wagging as to what his final height and build would be. Four years later, Elgin is still 5’11 but he has religiously built his body to a muscular 198lbs and he knows how to use it as he’ll likely get paid one day to catch passes. Reports from the locker room speak massively to him being an absolute alpha who absolutely hates to lose and will do whatever it takes to win.

Sure he benefits from being a member of the best offense and best overall team in the country, Brøgby’s Elgin Spencer has shown a very promising evolution as a receiver, going from a physically dominant force in his younger years to a game-changing inside receiver who can hit any sort of route off the offensive tree. Elgin uses every bit of his lower-body power to fire up off the line with purpose and has quick feet and sharp cuts to create easy separation, and when the ball heads his way he’s sure-handed and prefers to attack the football and tries to snag the ball out of the air. Throughout his high-school career, Elgin has progressed immensely as a ball carrier and could turn into a YAC machine at an elite level as he doesn’t shy away from lowering his shoulder pad and power his way through defenders, with that physicality coming from a lifetime of being bigger than everyone else before learning how to best apply his frame against peers who had also grown up. A 4.4 40-yard and 31 inch vert certainly doesn’t hurt his ability to hold his own against his peers.

All together, Elgin is one of the more college-ready wideouts in Cardenaoan high school given his build and competitive temperament. Spencer probably won’t need too long to find his feet and should push for playing time from his first day on campus if he can stay healthy.

5. Kyle Session, 6’2 193lbs Ficilian Point Raiders
Right handed, Slot ***
396 yards/3TD

Kyle Session is a high up-side prospect who starred at wide receiver and cornerback for the Ficilian Point Raiders. He’s got the build at 6’2 193lbs and is a good all-around athlete with his basketball and track background, Kyle’s got solid straight-line speed considering his size. He loves hitting deep routes as he can run right past defenders, but anytime he’s got the ball in his hands is a good time for him. While he’s not the strongest or most elusive guy out there, he’s got enough wiggle with his speed to make him an effective option on screens and after the catch action.

Kyle just wants to play ball in college, ideally as a wideout but he just wants to get time on the field. He’ll definitely benefit from some time in the weight room to fill his frame in and add some functional strength, and he could use refinement on his route-running, but he’s got all the required tools to succeed. It’s hard to imagine him not being an impactful college player at some point in his career, and if Kyle Session lands in the right spot and truly dedicates himself to the game, there could be a payday in his future.

6. Kyle Ball, 5’10 180lbs Hatathia Pirates
Right handed, Playmaker ***
296 yards/4TD

Despite being on the shorter side for a receiver at 5’10, Kyle Ball can jump out of the gym with a near 45-inch vertical. His 296 yards came despite running in Ammon Tart’s shadow, but while he lost the total yardage battle, he handedly won the touchdown race. Kyle’s exceptional athletic ability and ‘bounce out the house’ factor help him play way above his size thanks to his basketball skill as he’s been dunking since 8th grade. At 180lbs, he’s got a high strength-to-weight ratio but it seems he’s got even more room to add additional strength to his frame at the collegiate level.

Kyle Ball has plenty of work to do as he learns to use his build at the next level, but he can get snaps on multiple special teams units as a freshman and fill in inside as a slot. Ball dominates the short field with his speed, explosive ability, and incredible vertical, and these combine to flash some excellent 50/50 ball skills. The kid plays much bigger than his size has any right, and he brings a certain amount of attitude to the position, it’s heart over height to the lad and he wins plenty of fans with that approach.

ESTEROLOGY
Part 7: The Kick

FIREHAWKS' ROOST, FELSWYR, MOUNTAIN DISTRICT - It wasn't that she hated special teams, Nicole reminded herself. No, it was that for plays involving Special Teams, there was nothing she could do about how the offense's possession ended. Though she trusted her teammates - Felswyr State, like most Chromatik institutions in gridiron, boasted one of the best special teams units in the entirety of the NSCF - but she just hated the helpless feeling. Even if she got them to the right spot, if something went wrong in that one play, they could lose the game. It wasn't exactly like when the defense was playing - she had nothing to do with what the defense did, and she had made peace with that a long time ago.

Taking over down 31-33 with 3:10 left and all three timeouts, Nicole had done her bit by completing passes to Nero Ramsey and Jen Hallow in between solid runs by Sydney Thomas to get them into position. Taking advantage of the tendencies that they had recognized from the Cavsar defense, the Firehawks were really getting a drive going - until disaster almost struck. A routine snap sailed over Nicole's head from Matthias Woodpecker, forcing Nicole to chase the ball down eight yards beyond the line of scrimmage and fall onto it before things could get any worse. This, of course, set the Firehawks back, and they stalled at the Lava's thirty-two yard line, setting up a forty-nine yard field goal with just under forty seconds remaining.

She couldn't bear to watch, but she remembered the promise she had made to Park Jung-Shik - that they would be supportive of each other no matter what.

The snap was good, the hold by Ydira Zhanfijan was perfect, and Park swung his leg with all his might.

Sailing through the cold Felswyr night, the ball just made its way next to the left upright - sending the Firehawks to a well-earned win.

Of course, it wasn't over. Due to only winning by a point, a loss by Felswyr State to Staramara Tech coupled with a Cavsar win over Sadeg State would mean that Cavsar would win the Division.

For now, though, they had done their job - both Quarterback and Kicker - and lived to fight another day.

Jackson Zuercher Pt 7.

“Ok so, we beat NCS was a good win boys and BSU managed to lose to Utah state. We have a real shot boys and well we just need to beat Utah state and have BSU take their loss against, NCS and well we might be able to sneak into the title conference game. Yeah its going to be tough but we are BYU!” Jackson yelled out to his teammates, as they had handily beat out NCS but the freshman QB continued. “We have dealt with these types of schools and we have torn them apart, and whose to say we can’t do it again? because I know that we can manage a title spot if we just out play Utah state, yeah it might not be easy but since when the fuck was college football easy boys? I will answer that right away, and well it never was! We are playing in the best conference, we have no room for big mistakes this game.” Jackson took in another breath before continuing his semi-speech, “I know it sounded harsh but its true, we have to limit our holding calls, limit any possible mistake we can during this game. As this could be make or break for us and well BSU plays after us so we can get a good watch, so lads lets get out there and prepare for this game! And remember, take it one play at a time.. so on the count of three, family” Jackson let out a sigh of relief, he was shy and most could tell but when it came to the game god he couldn’t be more outspoken.

“1.. 2.. 3… FAMILY” with that, they all dispersed and prepared for the game. Jackson was sitting down in the away locker rooms, well he was shaking as this was one of his first high-stake games. That was until his best friend in the entire world Johnny Wall at the moment, decided sitting right next to a stressing Zuercher was a good idea. Knowing the track record, if one of them got frightened enough them might just end up dead as Jackson knew with his brother Blake. He stayed quiet until Johnny slapped him on the back and spoke to the other Freshman and said…

“Hey buddy, how are ya holding up? You looked like you were going to drop dead any second before, I came over here to be honest with you buddy.” Johnny seemed concerned but hey that was all fine, as he knew he could probably snap Jackson out of what ever rut the QB was in.

“Oh yeah.. eh just this game is getting to my head, and well Zuercher blood of passing out in these types of moments. Happened to my brother but I am sure I will be fine…” Jackson was quiet as he spoke, and from what Jackson could see of Johnny’s face, he didn’t like that at all. So Johnny started speaking again..

“Is that so? Well tough luck but we ain’t letting you freeze up this game, not after what you just preached about man. Look I know you are having a tough time but trust me man, as you said it is going to be a lot easier if you focus 1 game at a time.” Johnny was not the best with feelings but he felt like he got this one continuing his talk.

“Yeah we might loose and that sucks, but hey we are Freshman and for your Freshman season? Hell you were doing fucking great out there, honestly i have seen so many people think you are going to be a fucken stud man.” As Johnny finished speaking, he could see a smile creeping up on Jackson’s face and that’s when he knew he did his job and finally Jackson responded.

“Christ yeah, you are right in the most Johnny way you can be. Just focus on one thing at a time but hell that is a hard one to do, yeah it seems easy but I just haven’t been able to figure it the hell out. I know you have but we all know where most the thought behind your eyes goes..” Jackson’s smile crept into a smirk as, he mentioned what everyone thought when the three letters were uttered

“You know best of all people.. we don’t soak at least from what I know, god isn’t that weird? Anyway! Focusing on you man, just go out there and play your game and not focus on any of the Utah State chicks alright?” Johnny was trying to change the conversation, although Jackson wanted to keep it there he just let the subject change giving Johnny a nod.

“Alright man, I will give it a shot anyway lets go our there and show that sister school who’s the big brother..” With a fist bump, the two put on their helmets and joined the rest of their team out on the field. Jackson was carrying the Utah flag and Johnny was carrying, the BYU flag just so the Utah State fans didn’t forget who they were playing.

UC in conference finale against newcomer
(CPA)--The University of the Commonwealth football team are 60 minutes from the Heartland Division crown which will send them to the Mineral Conference championship for the third time in four seasons.

The Warriors got past Green City University 37-26 to earn at least tie for the top spot but will need to close out their slate against Centrale Pointe University at home to avoid the tiebreaker scenarios.

GCU will face their arch-rivals Trent State in their last game of the conference slate holding a 30+ point difference advantage over UC due to having the highest scoring offense in the league, 54 points ahead of the Warriors who have the second most prolific scoring unit.

Constantinople or Columbus-Prairie will await the Heartland champ in the title game, as the schools sit tied at 6-3 atop the Boreal.

Midweek practice between weeks eight and nine

BEEP!

Head coach's whistle blew as eighty football players, both those on the roster and the scout team, were running through various drills. Several members of the coaching staff, including Fighting Irish head coach Sara Lee Hampton, were carefully observing the drills, but they were really paying particular attention to the linemen drills. The weather was still cold outside in April, with much of the snow yet to melt under the low temperatures in Sagueneen highlands, but the inside was climate-controlled to the brim, with the intention that they be able to face warmer environments, which usually meant travel south to Banija or Valanora. There was one thing about the possibility of ending up in frostbitten grounds of Felswyr, something that would be as dreary as travelling north to face NSU or Nord-Est schools in general, but they were by all means more worried about getting dehydrated and lost early in the hot and humid.

But first, the bigger issue had to be addressed. While the Fighting Irish were comfortably atop the Celestia Conference with them (and their hated rivals, St. Croix) taking advantage of unexpected circumstances for their Banijan rivals, the 8-0 Fighting Irish had looked anything but perfect with no statement win made outside of the away win at Joongyeong over St. Croix. Everybody knew that wasn't on the defence, since Jose Bernat has put together a surprisingly competent defence that was doing everything. From collapsed pockets and sacked left and right with their front seven, they were the reason why the Fighting Irish had a winning chance against even the likes of Cold Hill (who they had already beaten two years ago, here at South Bend), Raynor or Felswyr State.

The same, however, could not be said about the Fighting Irish offence. For all the positive acclaims Raul Sebastien Santos had gotten up front, Kieran Kweon-McNair and Todd Moddejonge downfield, and Thierry Warnick on backfield...they had done so not because of their line buying them time, but in spite of suspect line play. While the tackles themselves had been fine, and left side all-Quebecois no less, the inside was not and the snaps were poor from all three centres endemic enough of a problem for the Fighting Irish dating back to September, when the yearlong journey began.

'What the fuck are you doing?' asked Patrice Shotbolt, as the 26-year old offensive coordinator jumped right to gesture stoppage of play. He noticed that the snaps were short once again from the starting centre, junior Tara McDonagh, and was not amused about it. 'Tara, snaps are shitty ass again.'

'Sorry, coach. We'll go back and run this again,' McDonagh answered, as she got back in line. The ballboy, noticing that the tension was quick, went out to give another ball to McDonagh. 'Okay, 1,2,3-'

'What is going on?' Hampton asked as the Chromatik approached Shotbolt and the line of scrimmage. From some distance Hampton could notice signs of frustration from her offensive coordinator, one that she had seen from him across the season, but it was clear enough that Shotbolt wanted to talk it over with her. 'Pat, is this over what I think it is?'

'Still the same, Sara,' Shotbolt answered, with both lines still waiting for the snap to be called by the backup quarterback, junior Serge Razumikhin. Razumikhin's in the position to receive the snap from backfield, likely on a quick, mid-field pass to veteran tight end, Idrissa Bahng-Lloyd, but was still waiting for the clearance to go. 'I'm really not convinced with the snaps right now. You and I know why I'm getting very frustrated, and I don't want another loss to darned Golden Gaels when October happens.'

Hampton agreed rightaway, immediately noticing what he was referring to. For all the benefits McDonagh held as a blocker, she's had snaps all season long and running the offence haven't been smooth at all, and by this point, the coaches' patience were running out. 'A junior making those fundamental mistakes is not a good thing,' Hampton answered. 'Do you think that she's best moving to a guard?'

'Probably, give her time and I think she'll be a good guard in the pros as well. Protection's not the issue and she blocks well, it's just snaps having issues and that putting pressure on Hugues (Nimischuuch) and Angelo (Federici),' He said, 'Now, Federici's not exactly convincing me on guard.'

'We'll have a think later,' the head coach answered, before signaling that she had to move to other drills, mostly on the defensive backs who were running one-on-ones. 'Maybe after this practice while the lads are on weight room.'

Elite Conference

The Season

Matchday 1
Franscesca Larriet-Cortes High School 0–10 Staramara Tech High School
Chromatik Army High School 7–15 Crix Technical School
Tears of the Revolution High School 30–16 Tihon Elite Academy
Myana Northwestern High School 33–13 Mt. Niar High School
The Chromatik Institute 31–7 Vitoron School of Charge

Freya Odinsdóttir goes off in a three-sack, two-interception day against the Martyrs, while the Chameleons' new-look defense holds the Recruits in check; the Saints' Yara Mood and Kimberley Dread both have a touchdown catch each as the Fog Wall are handled, while the Dread, in their first game without RSS, dominate the Robots in the Elite Conference opener. In the rematch of the National Title game, Lisa Goodson leads the Blue and White to successful vengeance - Mark Lutt catches two touchdown passes, Creed Jackson-Smith has over a hundred yards on the ground, and the formidable Myana Northwestern defense holds the usually capable Dante Flowers to just a single touchdown pass.

Matchday 2
Staramara Tech High School 31–21 Vitoron School of Charge
Mt. Niar High School 34–26 The Chromatik Institute
Tihon Elite Academy 30–16 Myana Northwestern High School
Crix Technical School 10–19 Tears of the Revolution High School
Franscesca Larriet-Cortes High School 43–19 Chromatik Army High School

Rostyslav Illich Kysil has fifteen tackles and a sack in the Fog Wall's second half dominance of the Blue and White in a huge upset, while Flowers, Harangyar, and the Anacondas finally get going - having to outduel Carla Vosin, Briana Heavenworth,a nd the Dread. Despite conceding three touchdowns to Sidney Jones and the Robots, Mishael Forgonn has his first three hundred yard game of his career to pace the Battle Angels - while the Saints start the Elite Conference on a high note, holding the Chameleons to less than 250 total yards. In the offensive performance of the day, Darin Piltoffer, Ray Donnovan, and Yi Xia all have massive days - and the Martyrs hang forty-three on the Recruits.

Matchday 3
Chromatik Army High School 9–6 Staramara Tech High School
Tears of the Revolution High School 30–26 Franscesca Larriet-Cortes High School
Myana Northwestern High School 37–6 Crix Technical School
The Chromatik Institute 31–20 Tihon Elite Academy
Vitoron School of Charge 7–13 Mt. Niar High School

In a game marred by turnovers, the Recruits outlast the Battle Angels as Maurice Flare hits the fifty-three yarder as time expires - which means that the Saints are the only team to be undefeated after barely surviving the Martyrs' bid, Yara Mood catching a fifty-four yard pass in the last five minutes. Myana Northwestern has four touchdowns in the first half from Goodson as Lutt and Jackson-Smith handle business, the Dread's Briana Heavenworth cashes in a 211 yard performance against the Fog Wall, and Mt. Niar escapes Vitoron with a tight victory - Dante Flowers coming in clutch in the Fourth Quarter.

Matchday 4
Staramara Tech High School 33–37 Mt. Niar High School
Tihon Elite Academy 47–20 Vitoron School of Charge
Crix Technical School 19–27 The Chromatik Institute
Franscesca Larriet-Cortes High School 6–22 Myana Northwestern High School
Chromatik Army High School 38–33 Tears of the Revolution High School

The Elite Conference should not have any undefeated teams - but the Recruits taking down the Saints wasn't on anyone's agenda. Jair Lleyamana has 271 yards passing and 181 yards rushing, while Kang Doon picks off the late attempt from Samuel Hodges. Myana Northwestern throttles the Martyrs' attack, paced by Pan Yileng and Alexander Eisenberg; the Dread need a two-touchdown Fourth Quarter to escape Crix with a win - Yavin Ott coming in clutch - while the Fog Wall, Tina Hend leading, run up the score on the Robots. In what was the game of the week, Mt. Niar take on the Battle Angels - and when needed, Dante Flowers comes up clutch. Staring down a charging Freya Odinsdóttir, Flowers finds Samantha Ysalt in the back left corner of the end zone. It's a perfect end to the masterpiece that was this game.

Matchday 5
Tears of the Revolution High School 12–21 Staramara Tech High School
Myana Northwestern High School 33–0 Chromatik Army High School
The Chromatik Institute 21–10 Franscesca Larriet-Cortes High School
Vitoron School of Charge 20–14 Crix Technical School
Mt. Niar High School 19–25 Tihon Elite Academy

Myana Northwestern is starting to really get going – though shutting out the Recruits may not be the most impressive thing, Eisenberg getting three sacks is. Freya Odinsdóttir has a defensive touchdown in the Battle Angels’ win at Tears of the Revolution High School; the Dread hold the Martyrs to just ten points as Heavenworth shines again, the Robots win their first game with Sidney Jones finding two second half touchdowns, and the Fog Wall – always down to do something unexpected – get three turnovers off of the Anacondas to drop them to 3-2 on the season.

Matchday 6
Staramara Tech High School 38–0 Tihon Elite Academy
Crix Technical School 7–21 Mt. Niar High School
Franscesca Larriet-Cortes High School 40–20 Vitoron School of Charge
Chromatik Army High School 21–17 The Chromatik Institute
Tears of the Revolution High School 21–13 Myana Northwestern High School

A day of upsets – as the Saints keep taking down big names, Sandy Pom making mincemeat of Lisa Goodwin’s pocket, while the Martyrs’ offense go off in a big win over the Robots for their second win of the season; the Anacondas’ defense, with Kyak, Derder, and Ekler, hammer the Chameleons; the Recruits recover to .500 behind a pick-six from Kang Doon off of Carla Vosin – while the Battle Angels join the group of four-win schools by virtue of a 38-0 shutout win over the Fog Wall. Freya Odinsdóttir, Vera Éloit, and Eden Pontfellier are pretty solid.

Matchday 7
Myana Northwestern High School 13–0 Staramara Tech High School
The Chromatik Institute 23–24 Tears of the Revolution High School
Vitoron School of Charge 3–14 Chromatik Army High School
Mt. Niar High School 34–12 Franscesca Larriet-Cortes High School
Tihon Elite Academy 14–14 Crix Technical School (20–17 OT)

Everyone thought a defensive slugfest would happen in Myana, and it absolutely did. The only touchdown scored was a defensive one – Jody Kaines getting a fumble return – while the Battle Angels just couldn’t get past midfield; the Saints keep bucking expectations with Will Jaire hitting another game winning field goal. The Recruits improve to 4-3 as Jair Lleyamana continues to do amazing things in his Sophomore year, the Fog Wall bounce back by winning an overtime game against the Chameleons as Rostyslav Illich Kysil comes through in the clutch, and the Anacondas keep rolling along as Flowers has a day with three touchdowns through the air – two to Millie Harangyar – and one on the ground to handle the Martyrs.

Matchday 8
Staramara Tech High School 26–0 Crix Technical School
Franscesca Larriet-Cortes High School 24–7 Tihon Elite Academy
Chromatik Army High School 10–27 Mt. Niar High School
Tears of the Revolution High School 12–37 Vitoron School of Charge
Myana Northwestern High School 34–13 The Chromatik Institute

Staramara Tech bounces back from their shutout defeat by getting one over the Chameleons – Freya Odinsdóttir coming through once again in forcing multiple turnovers – while the Martyrs make short work of the Fog Wall; the Anacondas put the Recruits back in their place as Dante Flowers shows Jair Lleyamana how it’s done. The biggest upset of the season is the Robots’ handling of the Saints – as Sidney Jones and Stephen Marx gets four touchdowns and Amber Lynne gets a turnover of her own. Myana Northwestern joins Mt. Niar atop the conference, Creed Jackson-Smith having another three-touchdown day.

Matchday 9
The Chromatik Institute 7–13 Staramara Tech High School
Vitoron School of Charge 16–28 Myana Northwestern High School
Mt. Niar High School 20–0 Tears of the Revolution High School
Tihon Elite Academy 31–30 Chromatik Army High School
Crix Technical School 20–10 Franscesca Larriet-Cortes High School

The final day of the round-robin – with so much on the line. Mt. Niar’s defense comes to the forefront as they put together a shutout of their own, Dante Flowers doing his part – while Myana Northwestern runs away from Vitoron in the second half; their identity is that running game now. Staramara Tech clinches third place with another strong defensive performance led by MVP candidate Freya Odinsdóttir, while the Fog Wall climb up to fifth by virtue of a last-second Field Goal drive from Cad Filox and company. Throw in the Chameleons getting their second win of the season, and everyone had at least two wins in the best conference. Vitoron School of Charge and Crix Technical School will not make the postseason.

Matchday 10
Myana Northwestern High School 27–33 Mt. Niar High School
Staramara Tech High School 31–10 Tears of the Revolution High School
Tihon Elite Academy 36–20 Chromatik Army High School
The Chromatik Institute 3–39 Franscesca Larriet-Cortes High School
Vitoron School of Charge 20–17 Crix Technical High School

The “extra” week to decide first, third, fifth, seventh, and ninth – the loser can’t be knocked out of the coupling. Flowers’ two Fourth Quarter drives to come back is what the Anacondas needed to win the inaugural Elite Conference, while the Battle Angels complete a season where they only conceded 10.9 points a game to nine of the best programs in the country by handing the Saints their fifth loss. The Fog Wall beat the Recruits for the second game in a row – Jair Lleyamana turns the ball over three times – while the Martyrs continue the trend of scoring a lot to win or losing. Vitoron’s year ends with a narrow win to conclude Sidney Jones’s Sophomore season.

Final Table
Elite Conference Pld W L PF PA PD
1 Mt. Niar High School 10 8 2 251 180 +71
2 Myana Northwestern High School 10 7 3 256 138 +116
3 Staramara Tech High School 10 7 3 209 109 +100
4 Tears of the Revolution High School 10 5 5 191 235 −44
5 Tihon Elite Academy 10 6 4 232 245 −13
6 Chromatik Army High School 10 4 6 168 244 −76
7 Franscesca Larriet-Cortes High School 10 4 6 210 186 +24
8 The Chromatik Institute 10 4 6 199 221 -22
9 Vitoron School of Charge 10 3 7 171 247 −76
10 Crix Technical School 10 2 8 125 207 −82
When all’s said and done, Mt. Niar wins the Elite Conference – while Myana Northwestern joins them in the Winners’ Bracket. Staramara Tech High School, Tears of the Revolution High School, Tihon Elite Academy, Chromatik Army High School, Franscesca Larriet-Cortes High School, and The Chromatik Institute will join the Losers’ Bracket. It was a tense conference of so many close matches – and it should be expected that the Champion comes from this conference.

MVP: Senior Outside Linebacker Freya Odinsdóttir (72 tackles, 11 sacks, 5 forced fumbles, 8 interceptions, 4 defensive touchdowns)

Blame the fact that nobody was really allowed to play offense, or blame the fact that she is simply the best Outside Linebacker in Chromatik High School Gridiron history. Freya’s combination of size, speed, and smarts – with a nose for the ball – is the reason why Staramara Tech could just win it all.

Raise your hand if you have heard this story before, Raynor University starts off the season poorly, losing two of its first three games including the game at their fellow Vanorian rivals Mar Sara Tech who start off perfect, but then the Raiders lose a game that they should not during the stretch and are then playing against the Rockets in Raynor City with the division/conference on the line. Despite the odds, the Rockets come all the way back and one up their fellow Empire school in the last game of the season in front of their home friends and steal the division/conference from the Raiders at the eleventh hour. This is not the first nor the second time that this exact scenario has played out and this edition will be the one that will hurt the most for the Raiders, as they could have even lost in the last game against the Rockets as long as they kept it a close game and still have won the division, instead they capitulated completely to their rivals and saw themselves fall out of the conference championship game again after losing the division in a most devastating of fashions.

The Rockets have to be commended for their fight back and making good on a season that after three weeks looks like it was already over, with the fans and staff better suited towards casting their gaze towards the recruiting battles that were to come to try and reinforce the team for the upcoming seasons. Raynor though took their lumps and grew from them, got better as the season went along and their new starting offense and defense began to find chemistry, their skilled players getting the opportunities that had been missing in the first three games to show off their skills. By now means was it always pretty for the team, but they dug deep into their arsenal and managed to claw their way back, the icing on the cake being the complete domination of the Raiders to end the season and send them into the conference championship for the second team in three seasons since the Vanorian schools returned from their hiatus from the competition. Despite the hiatus, the schools never quite looked like they had missed a beat and simply picked up from where they left off, with Raynor making it to the championship game that first season back from the hiatus, only to lose to Felswyr State University of Chromatika in the end.

Part of the comeback included hosting the team who had held a sort of hex over the Vanorian schools since their return from the hiatus, with the University of Mancodas having entered into that match in the midseason having been undefeated in all of their games against Vanorian schools up to that point. Then the Rockets did the unthinkable, they bossed the game and ran Mancodas out of their stadium and it was that victory that instilled the belief that there was still hope that this season could be salvaged, that this team could still make waves not just in the division but in the conference and then in the entire NSCF once out of conference games and the playoffs began. If the Rockets were able to not just win but win quite comfortably against a team who had had their number in every game they had played against them before, then this team was far better than their first three games had shown and that they had began to really bond as a team, which meant that the sky was the limit from where they could go. Running the table the rest of the way was just the proof made manifest from that belief.

It then comes full circle though as despite the loss to the Rockets, the University of Mancodas still ran through the legends division like a hot knife through butter and also continued their domination over Mar Sara Tech, completing manahandling the Raiders in Poafmersia and opening the door that the Rockets would later burst through by handing them their first loss of the season. That sets up a rematch between the Mancodas and the Rockets and despite how well the team has played in the second half of the season and how completely of a victory that they had in the first meeting, this is still a team who strikes fear with just how well they can play in any single game. That ability to play above their talent level on any weekend is the sort of stuff that gives opposition staff nightmares as you can gameplan around their talent and what you know and expect them to do, but if it is one of those weekends where they are in the zone, none of it matters. The Rockets had to work their butts off to get back to the championship game and had to grow constantly through the season, they had to prep for each game like it was a playoff and now they are here, needing to do it again. A win secures them a spot in the playoffs before the out of conference gauntlet starts as well definitely say that they have shaken the Poafmersia curse that had been hanging over them, plenty of motivation to see this team continue on their streak since week four and beyond.

Felswyr State University Horizon Conference History
NSCF 22: 10-0 - Horizon Conference Champions
NSCF 23: 7-3 - Horizon Conference Second Place
NSCF 24: 8-2 - Horizon Conference Second Place
NSCF 25: 6-4 - Horizon Conference Second Place
NSCF 26: 7-3 - Horizon Conference Champions
NSCF 27: 8-2 - Starlight Division Second Place
NSCF 28: 8-2 - Starlight Division First Place, Horizon Conference Champions
NSCF 29: 8-2 - Starlight Division First Place, Horizon Conference Champions
NSCF 30: 7-3 - Starlight Division First Place...

Despite losing to Staramara Tech by ten points - the Lava really know how to run the ball against the Firehawks - the Gladiators lost to the Skyhawks late, and the Firehawks won the Starlight Division, leading them to the Horizon Conference Championship game. This would be the third straight championship in a row, and make it five times in nine tries that the Firehawks won the Horizon. Their opponents? The Silver Coast State College Cadets, who only lost by a point to the Firehawks in their first meeting. Silver Coast State College has won seven games in their inaugural season, and will not be an easy egg to crack.

Can the Firehawks rebound from their first loss since Matchday 3? Or will they enter the Out of Conference schedule needing statement wins?

Jays win the division, have a shot at the conference.

Kabe Heaton is not human.

He has had a multi-TD performance in half of the games he's played.

He's racked up 16 TD receptions.

He. Is. Not. Human.

The entire season, Kabe Heaton carried the Jays into this scenario, of course, with the help of Jerry Atkinson's work, and he is the man who will carry the Jays to a conference championship. Whether it be a 9-3 OT win or an absolute discombobulation, Kabe Heaton is always there. always headtopping the defender when needed. Heaton should be a no-brainer pick for OPOY.

Switching to the game, it's the conference championship at UCBP. Earlier in the season, the Jays and the Warriors played eachother, with UCBP prevailing 3-23. Ever since then, these teams have changed a lot, and Craig Kelly is in the epicenter. If i had to tell you one thing about this matchup, all i'll say is that it's gonna be fun. I sure can't wait to find out what happens.

This wasn’t an easy call to make.

Time for a deep breath, inhale…2…3…4.

Hold your breath…2…3…4.

Exhale…2…3…4.

Absence of breath…2…3…4.

Yeah, this was a tough call.

Dialing the number of someone you didn’t like, not because you didn’t like them, but because you just had to……even if you didn’t.

“Hey Jackson, this is Bobby. Look, we gotta meet… how the hell did you beat Richardson??”

……

“Alright alright alright…” Bobby Dials said as he laughed at the ridiculousness of what was just said. “Man you gotta pass me that joint, get me in the rotation and run what you just said past me again.”

“BD, Bobby my man it goes like this.

Listen. Look. Richardson. You know their whole thing? Defensive beasts, rahhhh! That’s the whole schtick, but guess what the secret is.
…
…
…
Bro…they’re not actually that good at defense.”

A few moments of silence passed before Bobby said, “Wait…really?? They’re just not that good at defense, that’s your advice??”

“Look, Bobby Dimes, man I can’t believe we’re actually having this conversation haha but look when I beat Richardson……I just put the ball in the endzone more than they did, easy as!”

“You mean like…score more than they do?”

“Huh……yeah I guess something like that.”

Cardenao High School Tight End Prospects

1. Vittorio Bermuda, 6’5 260lbs, Riverstone International School Otters
*****

Vittorio Bermuda is perhaps the most powerful offensive recruit to come out of Cardenao this year, with his 6’5, 260lbs frame purpose built to smash the shit out of anyone infront of him. Vittorio gets an A+ for his blocking on the line, something he’s learned a thing or two about during his time as Riverstone’s defensive end, but it’s Bermuda’s catching ability that makes him such a threat at tight end. For all his frame, VB has explosive jumping that pairs nicely with his impressive pass catching ability to create a versatile threat effective against any defense. Very sharp on corner and post runs and his surprising quickness makes downfield routes an option as Bermuda’s natural athleticism shines with the ball in his hands. He’s a proven ball-winner who doesn’t shy away from contesting in traffic, something that makes him a great red zone target.

One of VB’s best traits is his versatility as an offensive weapon and he can even fill in as a defensive end if need be. He blocks with power, he can run across all three levels of the field and is good from out wide or in a three-point stance. Can come in day one and make a big impact, without a doubt the top Cardenaoan tight end prospect.

2. Wally Hendrix 6’5 223lbs Timberline High School Wolves
****

Wally Hendrix brings a lot of length to the field with a slender build and a wingspan stretching over 80 inches, and that makes him one of the more intriguing skill players in Cardenaoan recruiting. Due to that length and his legit 6’5 frame, Wally has spent the majority of his youth career split out wide as a jumbo wide receiver who bullied smaller opposition, but will likely find his place in collegiate play as a flex tight end. Clearly his biggest strength is his extraordinary catch radius, which he pairs with some decent straight-line speed to be a constant reception threat. Wally’s got a long, smooth stride as he motors down the field, he isn’t the most physical prospect but with the ball in his hands he generally doesn't shy away from contact. The biggest issue is likely his blocking, which is entry-level at this point in his development but that’s almost always the case for someone on the leaner side. He’ll obviously need to bulk up as he was under 225lbs before his senior season, and he needs to improve at attacking the ball in the air.

Wally Hendrix will be a great reception threat for whoever recruits him, but he will need some time to nail down the nitty-gritty of the position. Make no mistake though, he has an extremely high ceiling given his physical stature and can be an impact player once his body matures.

3. Rio Good, 6’4 235lbs, Brøgby Preparatory Academy Miners
****

Rio Good is an all-around solid player who makes plays in every phase of the offensive game. He’s got a big frame at 6’4, 235lbs and he’s got plenty of room to still get bigger which is very enticing from a physicality perspective. Rio’s a dog, the kid plays hard and with intensity, never taking a play off. He’s got good overall athleticism thanks to a basketball background, and this is on display with his ease of elevation and catch radius, with no issues catching the ball away from his body. He’s a willing blocker who’s gotten better as the years go on and you have to think his tenacity and pad level should lead him to excel there as he develops physically in college. Perhaps Rio’s biggest issue is that, while he’s good at everything, there’s not really a particular area he’s spectacular in.

As a college freshman, Rio Good will likely be a bit player as he has the skills to get some work done but still needs some physical development to hit his potential. When projecting his upperclassmen years, there’s no reason to think he won’t have emerged as one of the better on the ball tight ends in college football.

4. Javen Jaramillo, 6’6 245lbs, Hatathia High Pirates
***

Javen Jaramillo is like someone went into the lab and flipped the ‘prototypical tight end’ switch, because Javen absolutely looks the bit. Already 6’6 and 245lbs, the kid is ready to go at the next level from a physicality perspective, with the requisite height, strong build, good length, he’s solid. JJ is a solid receiver with his build, capable of catching passes with either hand and has a knack for somehow always being a viable option, possible due to his large catch radius. Perhaps JJ’s biggest strength, aside from his pro-ready body, is his impressive sense of timing and body adjustments on his routes, which made him the most dangerous red-zone tight end in Cardenaoan high school. He’s also a fantastic blocker with his frame but sometimes lacks the mental engagement to be maximally effective. The biggest issues with Javen Jaramillo are two fold; first his numbers have been great but not necessarily as elite as you would want considering his physical gifts, and secondly he has a tendency to check out to a degree if he doesn’t see action early in the game. And…there might be a third. Javen loves partying, socializing, and just living it up off the field.

Whoever winds up coaching JJ will have an intriguing prospect to deal with, he has all the physical ability and technical potential to be a truly great player, but his mentality will need careful, constant mentoring to keep him engaged and committed to maximizing the potential his physical profile has.

5. Josh Kramer, 6’5 228lbs, La Escuela Nacíonal DCPF Footballers
***

Josh Kramer is a project, but damn is it an exciting one. 6’5, 228lbs with seam-busting speed and fluid route running who fires out of his stance with dynamic agility? That’s a decent starting point. Kramer is a very deceptive receiver, throwing a variety of jabs and head fakes to worm his way out of even the tightest coverage, and he’s got perhaps the best catch-and-go skills out of any Cardenaoan tight end prospect. As a receiver, he’s amazing. As a blocker, as a master of the darker arts of being a tight-end, Josh Kramer has a way to go. He plays through the whistle, but he lacks the strength and build to effectively operate on the line, so adding functional strength is going to be a must at the collegiate level.

He has the potential to become quite a good player for his school, but will need to stay disciplined and productive off the field to develop into the player he could be. In the right situation, he could be very productive as a freshman, but it’s his long term potential that makes Josh Kramer such an intriguing prospect.

There was the eerie repetition of history in last November's Songak Metropolitan match when the St. Croix Bleu et Blanc had come to South Bend for the regular season finale against Saguenay Fighting Irish. Running contrary to the generalised notion of two university representatives of a single nation into the NSCF being natural rivals, St. Croix and Saguenay were not the primary rivals to each other.

They were, rivals, and played the Crescent Crossfire each and every year in Chicoutimi's Apple Bowl, but had bigger rivals to each their own. Saguenay's top three were Southern Manitoba in Montevicio, St-Gabriel-Richard in Owashtanong, all the way out in the Golden Lakes' hinterlands, and then Queen's College. St. Croix was number four to them (Navy, the shortened term of Royal Naval Academy in Dongnae-Halifax County was the fifth one), and that hasn't exactly changed even with two added fixtures to the calendar every other year, mostly due to the fact that Saguenay's independent schedule (with 6-game arrangement under B1G affiliate member) had meant they would be playing a mostly nationwide schedule. The university administration liked it that way too, seeing it a natural advantage (alongside the QBC national broadcast schedule that they the only ones to have individually) in being able to start and close it out on opposite coasts of the country.

As for St. Croix, their chief rivals were Songak Metropolitan University's Cardinaux. Both primarily French/Korean-language universities in essence with the difference being the former's membership to the Lotus League, a designation primarily reserved for more sandstone, old-world universities with antiquated buildings (and somewhat prioritising undergraduate universities), and latter Imperial League of gigantic, research-oriented institutions. This contrast, combined with the two-hour distance separating the two had also played in the narrativisation of collegiate football, with them playing at the RSECQ (unlike Saguenay, who were oddly placed in the B1G to start with) and destined to play one another at home venues every year.

Currently the general consensus in the Quebecois footballing circle is that since the final week loss to the Cardinaux, one that have knocked them both out of the RSECQ title race and ultimately the Tiger Bowl berth (as it turns out, nobody in the RSECQ had received it, a symptom of top four sides eating one another out), the Bleu et Blanc have not exactly performed up to the expectation. Even then, over the course of the NSCF spring football season, they appeared to have recovered slowly and gradually in form. Their 8-1 form record, with the conference-leading 133 points allowed (nevermind the fact it had only put them in seventh), was enough to suggest that the Bleu et Blanc were getting back to their usual point. Perhaps they were slowly getting back to the expectation of rawrcrushing, time-freezing slow-motioned St. Croix of McKendry's days...little bit earlier and faster than they had anticipated.

At the hallowed grounds of South Bend, the Bleu et Blanc were more than capable of being the villains. Being the challengers to the Savannah Division title in a slightly less competitive Celestia Conference this season, they were ready to set out to become the villains when they entered the Schwartz Stadium on the Saturday night, and came out successfully with it. They had started out hot early, with three straight rushes of 10 yards or more coming from Ryu Seong-Weon and Brent McGovern off quick motion, before Pierre-Luca Gignac's quick pass to his favourite target, graduate tight end Tex Alexander of Carenao, making the difference. From this point on the match went back and forth, with both Santos-led Fighting Irish and run-heavy Bleu et Blanc successfully finding endzones at multiple points, keeping the game at close bay up to the fourth quarter.

Eventually, the difference was made on the very end when what was thought to be a single, safe decision made by the Bleu et Blanc offensive coordinator, Kenneth Tshibangu, would end up backfiring. The Bleu et Blanc, who had scored on their last two drives with a touchdown and most of the minutes controlled, had managed to reach the Saguenay red zone off a 54-yard rush from Ryu Seong-Weon, who himself was having a day with 21 rushes, 201 yards and 2 touchdowns. With about 1:47 left, they would manage to score on the very next play with Gignac throwing a 21-yard dime to Claude Rumbhall-Akongo, and the successful one-point conversion meaning that they would be more or less secured of a win.

The problem, however, was that they had managed to leave behind just enough time for Fighting Irish to at least attempt a field goal, and for all the challenges Saguenay had with their internal offensive line, the change in centre had, at least, helped stabilise it enough to the point where the Bleu et Blanc were having issues breaking inwards the way they were able to do the first time in Joongyeong.

This would all prove to be perfect storm in making, a blown opportunity for St. Croix, as that's what exactly happened. Saguenay's primary kick/punt returner, Woo Jae-Yong, had received an iffy kickoff at 17 yard line, and would manage to receive solid blocking from his teammates to advance to their own 45 yard line. With about 1:21 left on the clock, and Saguenay still having two timeouts saved, this was going to be tricky with only about 25 yards needed to be progressed.

First play was a lateral from Santos to Gabrielle Zarubiak, who would progess to the midfield. And then, at second-and-5, Santos would look for a cross between Lucan Moddejonge and Kieran Kweon-McNair, both tall receivers capable of confusing the mikes in the back (St. Croix used 3-4, so more bodies out there), and aim for whichever that had faster acceleration. Another hut was drawn, with the Bleu et Blanc opting to rush four. This wasn't exactly the safest move, especially with Santos having enough of arm to throw far enough of a pass, and that's what exactly happened as Moddejonge, who had the size factor over the opposing cornerback, established enough speed to make a 19-yard catch.

With about a minute left, and the endzone still about 31 yards away, there were two options left for the Fighting Irish - to for the slam dunk with the risk of a turnover that would simply cost their chances, or to kick a safe field goal while accepting a loss. Former would be more tempting, especially with the previous season's sweep and a four-season streak they had over the Bleu et Blanc, but the latter was a more pragmatic solution, especially when considering that the Fighting Irish had won their previous showdown in Joongyeong by exactly five points, meaning that kicking a field goal, even if it meant a loss, would be enough to push them ahead by a single point advantage on head-to-head split.

To no surprise, the Fighting Irish took the latter. And won the Division title by a single point difference.

SEASON 13 PLAYOFFS - Seeding Round

Coastal Conference Championship: J. H. Yadasky High School 20–9 Lhor Central High School

Cade Stases finds Kurtis Seelo for a pair of touchdowns in the first half, Dorothea Destiller sacks Beck James four times to get the MVP, and the Heroes advance to the Winners' Bracket without breaking too much of a sweat.

Delta Conference Championship: East Rhoni High School 34–23 Randan High School

Park Min-Seol, the all-purpose Running Back, runs for 201 yards and three touchdowns while catching another as the Kayaks run roughshod over the Rapiers to win the Delta Conference, returning to their usual stomping grounds.

Dreadnought Conference Championship: Wirr Tsi School for the Gifted 9–16 Kynxe High School

In a surprising off day for Dean Stephens and the Masterminds' offense, it would be Reed Myler taking a routine screen pass 77 yards for the game's only touchdown, sending the Monsoon to the Winners' Bracket in a surprising turn of events. The Masterminds will have to survive through the brutal gauntlet that is the Losers' Bracket.

Justinian Conference Championship: City of Lorentine High School 14–26 East Shantarr High School

After a dismal first half - committing two turnovers that turned into fourteen points for the Wizards - Daemon Argonaut really turned things around in the second half, finding Draymond Sting for a pair of scores as the Order's defense also stiffened up. It's this iron will that may take the Order a bit further than in prior seasons.

Mountain Conference Championship: Dynasty High School 23–30 Mt. Baker High School

Finally outside of the Anacondas' shadow, the Abominable Snowmen - and their Quarterbacks by committee - outlast the Royals, Jordan Kimsterling with two interceptions including one returned 39 yards for the go-ahead score. Mt. Baker in the Winners' Bracket, who could've guessed?

Omega Conference Championship: Checkers High School 6–13 Anfanhar High School

Take a bow, Dylard Kiyaka. The Freshman Outside Linebacker had thirteen tackles, two sacks, a pass defensed and an interception as the Mystery won a tight matchup against the Chessmen. Neither offense could do much, but Xiya Yard scampered in for the game's lone touchdown in the Fourth Quarter.

Premium Conference Championship: East Omnio High School 23–48 Gurshan High School

Fabian Donovan went off, scoring six touchdowns through the air - three to his favorite target, Hannah Riechart - as the Drills dominated the Geomancers despite Edward Warrington having a decent game. The Drills never punted as they scored almost at will.

Rainbow Conference Championship: Pelar High School 29–6 South Sanar High School

Senior Middle Linebacker Andy Kim had eighteen tackles, Freshman Strong Safety forced a fumble and had an interception, and the Hurons' defense was the talk of the day as the Armadillos were thoroughly handleed in the Rainbow Conference Championship game. It was a night to forget for Eyre Feng and the Armadillos' offense, who could barely accrue more than 210 yards of total offense, including the two Field Goals.

Southern Conference Championship: Myana Southeastern High School 61–38 Central Tihon High School

Four defensive touchdowns scored - including two fumble returns by Sophomore Outside Linebacker Isak Donne - proved to be the difference for the Fathoms over the Knives, as Yevdokiya Trokhymivna Doroshenko's four touchdown catches didn't pan out for the Knives. This was a wild game with eleven plays for more than forty yards.

Urrheddiao Conference Championship: Block High School of Tor 20–24 Urrhed High School

In a bona fide Quarterback duel, Dyne Korlyne and Reece Santos exchanged blows throughout Three Quarters before Santos's pass to Naya Curento ended the stalemate in the Fourth Quarter. The Vipers make the Winners' Bracket once again.
SEASON 13 PLAYOFFS – Format

Twelve teams would enter the winners' bracket, first round, while sixteen would enter the losers' bracket, first round. Seeding will be at random, except teams from the superconference cannot play each other.

The six winners of the winners' bracket, first round play each other in the winners' bracket, second round. The three winners are locked into the National Quarterfinals.

The six losers of the winners' bracket, first round join the eight winners of the losers' bracket, first round in the loser's bracket, second round. This will result in seven winners.

The three losers of the winners' bracket, second round and the seven winners of the losers' bracket, second round play each other - drawn at random. The five winners make the National Quarterfinals.

SEASON 13 PLAYOFFS - Winners' Bracket, First Round

Mt. Baker High School 7–9 Myana Southeastern High School

A defensive battle - as expected between these two squads. Uriah Passerine has eight tackles while Isak Donne has three sacks, while Jordan Kimsterling does his usual thing with a dozen solo tackles. The game is decided by a thirty-four yard run by Knut Perron with two and a half minutes left, setting up a forty-four yard Field Goal that Lyon Donnais nails, no problem.

Kynxe High School 17–23 Pelar High School

In a game where Andy Kim and the defense struggled at times - Patrick Osmeiller was able to put some drives together - Reeva Karlston stepped up, leading her underage receiving core on two Fourth Quarter drives that ultimately ended up deciding the game. The Hurons are one game away from the National Quarterfinals.

East Rhoni High School 33–20 Anfanhar High School

For one half, it was tight. Xiya Yard and Jill Westhaven traded long scoring drives, and the score read 14-14. Then, Park Min-Seol took over. The Running Back ran 133 yards in the second half and the Kayaks never looked back.East Rhoni doing well in the National Playoffs? What's new?

East Shantarr High School 10–6 Urrhed High School

Both defenses played their hearts out - holding Daemon Argonaut and Reece Santos to ten points or less is ridiculous - but it's the Order that does just enough. Down three with five minutes to go, Argonaut sandwiched passes to Draymond Sting around some designed Quarterback keepers to get to the five yard line. Then, a pump-fake froze the Vipers' defense for a full second, allowing Tight End Cardi Just to be all alone in the end zone.

J. H. Yadasky High School 10–28 Mt. Niar High School

The Heroes, as good as they have been, were absolutely no match for the Anacondas' well-oiled machine. Dante Flowers had three touchdowns - two to Millie Harangyar - and the Mt. Niar defense really stiffened after the First Quarter, not letting the Heroes past midfield after those two initial drives. If this is how they're playing now, there is no reason why they couldn' repeat as Champions.

Gurshan High School 9–10 Myana Northwestern High School

With Lisa Goodson struggling - she threw three interceptions in this game - the vaunted Blue and White defense stepped up in this game, with Alexander Eisenberg having three sacks, Pan Yileng getting two interceptions of his own, and Jody Kaines roaming. Creed Jackson-Smith scored the game's only touchdown in the Third Quarter, and that was enough. The Drills will be disappointed in only getting three Field Goals in three separate drives within the Blue and White twenty-five, but it's just hard to score against Myana Northwestern.

SEASON 13 PLAYOFFS - Losers' Bracket, First Round
Tihon Elite Academy 23–33 Wirr Tsi School for the Gifted

After a disappointing Conference Championship game, Dean Stephens turned things around against the Fog Wall. Three touchdowns scored - including two to Everard Gilstand - was what paced the Masterminds, while the defense had two key stops courtesy of Kiernan Jodunst and Ryan Leichard. For the Fog Wall, their initial season in the Elite Conference ended as expected - with a loss in the first round of the playoffs.

Franscesca Larriet-Cortes High School 28–29 Dynasty High School

Don't blame this on Darin Piltoffer - he had 329 yards, four touchdowns, and put them up seven with three minutes left by finding Yi Xia. However, that left too much time for the Royals. Gill Gaines found Drew Elliott, Jr. for forty-three yards, and then found Martha Larran thirty-two yards into the end zone. The Royals then made the controversial decision to go for two - and Gaines took the ball into the end zone on a Quarterback draw for the win. What a win for the program.

Tears of the Revolution High School 34–26 Block High School of Tor

Samuel Hodges' four-touchdown performance was almost undone by the brilliance of Dyne Korlyne and Juron Hadt, but a fortunate deflection resulting in Sandy Pom intercepting the pass in the flat ended up being the difference as the Saints were able to run out the clock after that.

Checkers High School 3–13 Staramara Tech High School

As long as Freya Odinsdóttir is around, the Battle Angels will be relevant. She had nine solo tackles, two tackles, a forced fumble, and an interception in a throttling win over the Chessmen as the Battle Angels showed they were in a different class than Checkers High School. It's a shame they're starting in the Lower Bracket, but is there any reason why they shouldn't at least make the National Quarterfinals?

Randan High School 9–10 East Omnio High School

In a rather slow match, Edward Warrington's ninety-four yard pass to Merrill Lyle in the Second Quarter ended up being the only touchdown; Halai Durston and the Rapiers couldn't do much on the ground, and despite three long Field Goals, they fell a point short. Not the prettiest of games to watch.

The Chromatik Institute 23–20 Central Tihon High School

Take a bow, Yevdokiya Trokhymivna Doroshenko - and get yourself a Quarterback. Despite the best Tight End in the country catching eleven balls for 183 yards and two scores, the Dread's Briana Heavenworth and Carla Vosin proved to be too much to overcome. Aaron Judge hit the game-winner with two and a half minutes left, and that was that. What a season by Doroshenko, though.

Lhor Central High School 6–6 Chromatik Army High School (6–9 OT)

This game went to overtime because of offensive inaptitude on both sides; the Recruits pounced on a loose fumble by Beck James in overtime, and Maurice Flare buried the forty-two yard Field Goal as Jair Lleyamana just wasn't having a good day. The Recruits will have to play a lot better if they are to advance any further.

South Sanar High School 14–7 City of Lorentine High School

Frank Wing turned the ball over three times, Eyre Feng found her sister Millie twice in the Third Quarter, and the Armadillos turned in a tight victory over the Wizards. Both teams looked very nervous in the match, but it would be the Armadillos taking over in the Second Half.

Earth Trophy XII (The Wrong Result?)

Postby TJUN-ia » Sun Feb 11, 2024 10:28 am

Earth Trophy Day. The 2nd time this season. One between two teams that had been through it all. On the one hand, you had a rebuilding 3-5 Trent State Feathercaps, a team that knew this season was already finished as far as they were concerned. On the other hand, you had the 6-3 Green City Royal Eagles who felt there was something still to fight for as they compiled a last-minute OOC schedule from almost nowhere. TSU were looking to add another spoiler to their rival's season by claiming the Earth Trophy back while the other was hoping to enter the OOC slate with 7 wins on the board and to be in the conversation for a playoff spot. Both teams were concerned with the bigger picture, but also knew this game could be big for both of them...and so, it was time for Sherwood Field - The Horseshoe - to host another instalment of this rivalry.

This game was expected to be telling, and it was...just not for the reasons everyone thought it would be. Alisha Obi Michel was supposed to be the one that shined on enemy territory and she did manage 3 TDs, 2 to Carlton McSwane and 1 to Yassan Namnganda, with Colleen Fletcher Christian going 1/3 on FGs...but this game featured a different storyline: the breakout performance of one Jessica Daniels. She came of age in this contest with 4 TDs, 2 each to Yurilka Zelinskaya and Catherine Alcaraz-Cortéz, while "Jenkins" also had a good night with 3/4 PATs and 1/2 on FGs. All in all, a result worthy of a field storm in Notts. TSU reclaim the Earth Trophy...and GCU now have a tough road to the Playoffs or even a postseason ahead.

That sound is the collective celebration and relief as the Rockets of Raynor University found themselves in the championship game of the Zephyr Conference once more and were going against a foe whom they had a grudge against for the way they have found ways time beat the Rockets time after time again, all until this season. That is because in week four, the Rockets were playing host to the infamous University of Mancodas in Raynor City and put on a clinic on how to play the game and ran their hated foe out of the stadium, playing at the very best of their game which had stood in stark contrast to their play of the first few weeks of the season. However fate likes to play its tricks and it would be the Mancodas who would be waiting in the wings for the Rockets in the championship game, looking to get their own back for that embarrassing loss in the first half of the season and show that they had grown from that encounter and still held the vex over the Rockets and all Vanorian teams, as evidenced by their dismantling of the Raiders when they visited Poafmersia and could not handle the pressure that was applied to them.

In a game of destiny and for the conference championship with its automatic berth into the NSCF playoffs on offer, the Rockets took to the field in their white out uniforms, having been designated as the away team for the fixture, with large swathes of the stands also taking part in the white out as the fans of the team came out in force to support the Rockets in their pursuit of a victory. Vanorian songs were being sung half an hour before kick off and they just got louder as it neared and then as the game began the fans made their voices heard with raucous cheering and making it difficult for the Mancodas line to communicate to each other. The fans were so loud and boisterous in there cheering for the Rockets that they turned what was supposed to be a neutral venue for the encounter into one that was clearly more of a home match for the Vanorian outfit and the team was looking to reward their support in kind. Gridiron was not exactly very popular in the Empire and getting huge crowds with this sort of dedication was definitely a treat and showed how much they care about the team and their success, which in turn made the team want to play even better for them.

A touchdown on the first drive as Odin Sørbø connected with Storm Dybvik on a twelve yard strike to open up the scoring and give the team a lead to defend and a reason for the fans in the stands a reason to stay loud to start the game. The defense clamped down and forced a three and out for the Mancodas, a rare treat for the Rockets defense but it would be quite common for this game unfortunately for the Poafmersia foe, with there being so much going into the game. The offense was far from clean but they were doing their job and if not scoring, moving the position battle and helping the special teams pin the Mancodas deep in their own end. Imran Håland would scamper in from eight yards out with a minute and three seconds left in the first half to double the lead going into halftime, with the defense once more standing tall to open the second half. Bailey Ball would haul in a five yard toss from Odin after a methodical drive and it was all over. Poafmersia's side would put up a touchdown in response but another drive that took up half of the fourth quarter and added a field go by way of redshirt junior Nicolo Lorenz erased all doubt, leaving the touchdown by the Mancodas with thirty-five seconds left to go to be meaningless. Onside kick was recovered and two kneel downs later and the Rockets had secured their championship and berth in the playoffs.

Playoff berth secured, the Rockets can start to think about trying to secure a better seeding in the playoffs with quite a difficult lineup in their out of conference opponents, which start with a matchup against former conference foes Richardson University of Ranoria. Being former conference opponents, the two teams have a lot of history, but in the more recent times, Vanorian teams have often seen themselves edge out their Ranorian opposition, including in runs to the championship. After the tussle with the Governors, the side travels to New Cardonia State, before then returning back home against Chromatik heavyweights Felswyr State University, whom two editions ago the side met in the championship game and found themselves on the wrong side of the result against. It is a difficult gauntlet but one that might lean the way of the Rockets with getting both of those hugely difficult matchups coming in Raynor City. With how much the home fans love this team and showed out for them in the conference championship game, there is a strong reason to believe they can also make the difference in these two mammoth out of conference tilts and help the side bolster their seeding potential.

Mar Sara Tech enters into the out of conference slate with some work to do and their own quite difficult slate of three games that they will need to win at least one of to stay in contention for a playoff push, while it would behoove them to win two of them to have even better odds, and winning all three games should in theory ensure their advancement into the postseason knockout stages and avoid the bowls. The Raiders start with Staramara Tech University, the other big Chromatik team who will be looking to improve their chances of making the playoffs as well after seeing their fellow Chromatik school of Felswyr State lift the Horizon crown. It is a game that is not going to be easy in the slightest as Staramara will be scrappy having finished on a five hundred record and needing big time out of conference wins to have a realistic chance to making the postseason. After that dangerous hurdle, the team then travels to Quebec and will try to lasso Université du Saguenay, who are celebrating another Celestia conference crown. Trying to best them in Quebec is no easy feat but this Raiders team has shown high quality all season except two games. The slate ends with their annual rivalry match against Sadeg State University, though this season sees it come to Vanorian shores. The Skyhawks finished second in the competitive and cannabalizing Starlight division of the Horizon with six win and a highly explosive offense. It already looks to be a highly anticipated ending game of the regular season but it has the potential to have a playoff berth on the line and with lots of fireworks between teams who can put up points in bunches.

This is a collaborative effort between Cardenao, Utahn Theocratic Republics, Ranoria, and Saterun. Thank you for reading and please grade accordingly.

Part 1: The Idea
Ever since star reporter Vick Hamilton was fired from RSNN for embezzling funds in a downward spiral of gambling addiction and imprisoned for his heinous deeds, RSNN had been lacking some star power. And for Borris von Hamburg, a young up and coming collegiate reporter, that meant there was a power gap to fill. Maybe it wasn't as glamorous as his playing days, but as he put it "once I took an arrow in the knee, I just didn't have that kind speed anymore."

And on a day where he'd been researching Richardson's past success, that's when he found it - The All-Big 8 teams. Sure, maybe there were big conference awards here and there, but the NSCF had never been consistent about those - just the big daddy hardware at the end of the season.

Why shouldn't the best players of the best conference be recognized, after all?

But he knew he couldn't do it alone - and he couldn't make it appear too biased. So he snagged the phone and prepared to dial a Sateryuns reporter, Cardenoan Philipe Cardinho, and Utahn media personality Myan Jensen- this was going to be their breakthrough.

Presenting The Class Of The Big 8
All-Conference Teams - Offense

First Team:
Bold Indicates a unanimous selection

Quarterback Bobby Dials, Lebois Santura University Broncos

It was a year of firsts for Bobby Dials. First 4000 passing yard season (4126 yards), first +35 thrown touchdowns season (39), first time throwing less than ten interceptions in a season (8), first 200+ yard rushing season (229 yards), and first time rushing for more than five touchdowns (7). The junior consistently turned in high quality performances as he led the Broncos to the second most points in the entire competition, only trailing Mar Sara Tech by one point. Bobby Dials is the heart and soul of the LeBois setup and he absolutely showed why.

Will he stay for his senior year or will he go? The answer will be era-defining for the Broncos.

Running Back Ragnar Sampson, Sophomore, Richardson University Governors:
Richardson University Governors. A transfer from Elephant Valley University, Sampson had the unenviable task of earning snaps with an established star in big Benjamin Merik sharing the backfield. After initially ceding the starting role to Merik, Ragnar took over over the second half. The sophomore ripped off three 120+ yard games over the last six weeks, and leads the team in touchdowns going into the out of conference slate. The physical force has been key to Richardson's ascension from a physical team to one sporting so much size and brawn on offense that it pushes defenses to their limits in a completely new way.

Tight End Johnny Wall, Bingham Young University Miners

Tight-End Johnny Wall, standing at an imposing 6'6" and weighing 220 pounds, has secured a coveted spot on the "All Big 8" First Team as it makes its return with his blend of size, athleticism, and skill. Renowned for his prowess in both receiving and blocking, Johnny's towering presence on the field makes him a formidable force for opposing defenses. Whether making acrobatic catches or clearing lanes for his teammates, Johnny's impact extends beyond offense. His work ethic and leadership qualities make him a respected figure in the locker room, where he serves as both mentor and role model although he is only a Freshman studen.

Tight End Mugisha Mulogo, Sophomore, Richardson University Governors
A sensational talent out of Banija, Mulogo's game breaking speed combined with prototypical size makes him both an ideal pro prospect and, consequently, a nightmare to defend. He's Richardson's leading receiver as Isaiah Hunter has feasted on seam and post routes this season and presents the biggest home run threat on their offense.

Wide Receiver Deacon St. John, Freshman, New Cardonia State Thunderhawks

Before the season began, there were quiet whispers out of New Cardonia that they might’ve pipped past those damn Broncos and secured the best overall recruit in Cardenao. As week by week went by, freshman Deacon St. John made true on those words as he turned in a campaign of the highest caliber. His 1426 receiving yards and 17 touchdowns are both national records for a first year player and St. John’s 217 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns are just the cherry on top. Tall, fast, can jump out of the building, and a purposeful runner who seems more refined every single week. The connection he has with fellow freshman Ranorian quarterback Nick Singer has the potential to be even more special if the Thunderhawks can develop a team around the pair.

Wide Receiver Saivion Ware, Sophomore, Lebois Santura University Broncos

Sophomore wideout Saivion Ware firmly cemented himself as Bobby Dial’s go-to option in the air game, as the second year player recorded 15 touchdowns and nearly 1800 yards of receiving. Tall and lanky, Saivion is particularly lethal running slant routes as he uses his frame and catching radius to absorb targets before cutting north and turning on the jets. After leading the Broncos in targets, catches, yards, and touchdowns in this sophomore campaign, expectations are high for Saivion’s third year.

Flex: RB Miles Davis, Bingham Young University Miners

Miles Davis, the dynamic FLEX player for the Brigham Young University Miners, stands at an impressive 6'2" and weighs 207 pounds. As a junior, he has already made his mark on the field, earning a spot on the "All Big 8" First Team as the award makes its come back. He also joins other BYU player Johnny Wall on the team, and with his exceptional versatility and playmaking ability he is a good choice for the Flex position. Whether lining up as a running back, receiver, or slot back, Miles showcases his athleticism and football IQ, making him a nightmare for opposing defenses. With his combination of size, speed, and skill, Miles Davis is a key weapon in the Miners' offensive arsenal, poised to continue his dominance in the Big 8 conference and beyond.

Left Tackle: Tamati Lofipo, Utah State University
Tamati Lofipo, the imposing left tackle representing Utah State, stands tall at 6'5" and weighs in at 291 pounds. As a senior in his final year of college, Lofipo's dominant presence on the offensive line has earned him a well-deserved spot on the "All Big 8" First Team. Renowned for his strength, agility, and football intelligence, Lofipo serves as a cornerstone of the Aggies' offensive strategy, providing crucial protection for the quarterback and paving the way for the running game. With his stellar performance and leadership on the field, Tamati Lofipo leaves an indelible mark on Utah State football.

Left Guard Marwin Finlayson, Freshman, LeBois Santura University Broncos:

It’s hard to look past Quebecois Marwin Finlayson at the guard position…no seriously, it’s physically hard to look past him, 6’8 312lbs…my word. His judo and wrestling background was on full display as Marauding Finlayson efficiently kept his mark on the backfoot and far away from Bobby Dials. The law school hopeful might need to put those plans on hold, another year at this level of play and Marwin following in his father’s footsteps to a pro league seems inevitable.

Center: Tapu Feresa, Utah State University
Tamati Lofipo, the formidable center anchoring the offensive line for Utah State, stands at a commanding 6'4" and weighs a solid 307 pounds. Despite being only in his second year of college as a sophomore, Lofipo's exceptional talent and dedication have already propelled him to the prestigious "All Big 8" First Team. Renowned for his size, strength, and impeccable technique, Lofipo plays a pivotal role in orchestrating the Aggies' offensive schemes, providing crucial protection for the quarterback and opening up lanes for the running game. With his remarkable potential and early success, Tamati Lofipo represents a bright future for Utah State football, poised to leave a lasting impact on the gridiron for years to come

Right Guard Tayvion Jenkins, Junior, New Cardonia State Thunderhawks:

The kid from San Gael had a fantastic season as he used his 6’6, 315lbs frame like a calculated wrecking ball, smashing into rushers leaving the defense feeling like they had been the one tackled. Tayvion Jenkins has quick feet, always shifting around so he can meet defenders head-on before he simply pushes them over. As rumors of a professional Cardenaoan football league grow louder and louder, it seems likely Tayvion will forgo his final year of eligibility to be one of the first players taken in a rookie draft. If that happens, he’ll be departing the right side of an offensive line he helped make truly elite for the Thunderhawks, thanks to some help from the next name on this list.

Right Tackle Taniela Tupua, Freshman, New Cardonia State Thunderhawks:

As the fourth highest rated prospect out of Utah, hopes were high for 6’7, 302lbs Taniela Tupua and it’s safe to say the lad surpassed them quite easily. Aside from his physical dominance, Taniela brings an elite mentality to the field as he plays with a controlled aggression while keeping his hands disciplined, while his light-hearted, joking nature made him a favorite in the locker room from day one. To do that as a freshman, from a different country adapting to the culture, language, and people, and never look close to dipping below an 8/10 on the field? The sky might just be the limit for Taniela.

Second Team

Quarterback, Jackson Zuercher Bingham Young University Miners
Jack Zuercher, the promising quarterback for Brigham Young University, stands tall at 6'3" and weighs in at 214 pounds. In his first year of college as a freshman, Zuercher has already made a significant impact, earning recognition as BYU's first representative on the "All Big 8" Second Team. Alongside his teammate Johnny Wall, Zuercher serves as the heart and soul of the BYU offense, shouldering the responsibility of leading the team to success. With his combination of athleticism, football IQ, and leadership qualities, Jack Zuercher represents the future of BYU football, poised to continue elevating the team's performance on the field. He is also known as a “stud” by people at other schools.

Running Back Benjamin Merik, Junior, Richardson University Governors
The third year back is probably sick of playing second fiddle, but he's been a pivotal player in this Governors offense for three years now, with over 700 rushing yards in each of them as the NSCF's premier goal line threat at 6'4" and a whopping 260 pounds.

Tight End Qamiya Parrine, Freshman, New Cardonia State Thunderhawks

Qamiya Parrine came from Chromatika to NCS to do business and he absolutely achieved that during his freshman season. Incredibly versatile and capable of hitting deep slant, the short out, and pass or run blocking all equally well while being a leader on and off the field. Qamiya is quicker than he should be at 6’7, 230lbs, and his long arms make him an elite receiver at the tight end position. If this is him just getting started, the Big Eight will need to be on high alert for the next three years.

Tight End Nejc Graciano, Senior, LeBois Santura University Broncos

From a walk-on freshman to all-conference second-team as a senior, it has been quite the rise for Nejc. Good size, well filled out, Graciano’s biggest strength is his surefire hands as he catches the ball consistently no matter the situation. He’s not necessarily Mr. Incredible who turns in game-breaking performances, but Nejc Graciano sure as hell is Mr. Reliable.

Wide Receiver Colton Fenroy, Bingham Young University Miners
Colton Fenroy, the veteran wide receiver for Brigham Young University, stands tall at 6'4" and weighs 215 pounds, concluding his collegiate career as a senior. As BYU's second representative on the "All Big 8" Second Team, Fenroy has cemented his legacy as one of the top receivers on the BYU roster. Alongside tight end Johnny Wall, Fenroy has been instrumental in the team's offensive success, consistently making crucial catches and providing a reliable target for quarterback Jack Zuercher. With his size, athleticism, and experience, Colton Fenroy has been a huge part of the BYU offense, leaving behind a lasting impact on the program as he concludes his collegiate journey.

Wide Receiver Davis Buchanan, Senior, Tsear University Thunderbirds

Tsear University wasn’t very good this season - the team won just two games in a Big 8 conference that seems to be getting stronger every season - but Buchanon was a bright spot, dominating the Thunderbirds’ receiving statistics in a senior season that, while gloomy, will provide plenty of time for the highlight reel as one of the more talented players at his position in the tournament, including holding the honor of being the only man to catch a touchdown on Munanaire Tembo so far this season.

Left Tackle Lee Maverick, Sophomore, Richardon University Governors

The big man on Isaiah Hunter's blindside - Maverick pairs up with Clay Lindsey to make the left side of the line focal point in this offense, especially if you throw in one of their big tight ends as a run blocker. A true road grader at the postition and he hasn't allowed a sack - although Richardson's low passing volume is certainly a factor on the latter part.

Left Guard Clay Lindsey, Senior, Richardon University Governors
Captain and nasty streak enthusiast of the Governors offensive line - their physical style and aim wouldn't be possible with a poor offensive line and Lindsey spearheads what's arguably the NSCF's best run-blocking unit. Whether it's pulling or mauling the interior, he's a steadfast force that resets the line of scrimmage to give his big backs time to work.

Center Abdullah-Aadi Makavan, Sophomore, Richardson University Governors

Makavan is a huge fan of snow bears - and got along great with the now-RFL star Rylan Rodgers Jr, but he's only gotten better in his second season blocking for Ragnar Sampson and Benji Merik. Helps to form a formidable tandem on the inside to clear out the A-gap against any and all opposition.

Right Guard Temetiu Tupu, Bingham Young University Miners
Temetiu Tupu, the formidable right guard for Brigham Young University, towers at an impressive 6'6" and weighs a solid 310 pounds. In just his second year of college as a sophomore, Tupu has already made a significant impact, earning recognition as BYU's third representative on the "All Big 8" Second Team. Renowned for his size, strength, and tenacity, Tupu possesses the ability to pancake incoming linebackers with ease, establishing himself as a dominant force in the trenches. With his imposing presence and burgeoning skill set, Temetiu Tupu is poised to become a future star for the Miners, contributing to their success on the field for years to come.

Right Tackle Toma Bawu, Bingham Young University Miners
Toma Bawu, the imposing right tackle for Brigham Young University, stands tall at 6'6" and weighs in at a formidable 312 pounds. Despite only being in his second year of college as a sophomore, Bawu has already made a significant impact, earning recognition as BYU's fourth representative on the "All Big 8" Second Team. Hailing from the nation of Banija, Bawu's addition to the team as a portal pickup brings a unique international flair to the Miners' offensive line. Renowned for his size, strength, and technique, Bawu is adept at pancaking incoming linebackers, solidifying his role as a dominant force in the trenches. With his impressive physical attributes and skill set, Toma Bawu is poised to continue making waves in the world of college football, representing both BYU and his home country with pride on the gridiron.

This is a collaborative effort between Cardenao, Utahn Theocratic Republics, Ranoria, and Saterun. Thank you for reading and please grade accordingly.

Part 2: The Meeting

At first they all laughed, but when their networks began to realize that this just might be a big hit, it quickly became a reality. And as the festivities around the Big 8 championship began in Pittsburgh, Ranoria, the trio met on a Wednesday with their lists of players ready. There was very little precedent to go off of - it wasn't exactly easy to figure out the system that the media of Ranoria and Kohnhead had used to come up with their lists. So, being the innovative and improvisational young talents they were, they made their own system. They'd cast two votes for each slot on the team - first place votes would be worth two points, and second place votes would be worth one. One quarterback and running back, two receivers and tight ends, and one lineman of each position would make up the offense as well as a flex player. The defense would be similar, with a "nickel" serving as the final defensive back.

Ties would be addressed following the voting, and they came up with four major awards. The offensive and defensive players of the year, of course the conference MVP, and the Most Promising Player for underclassmen.

So when they sat in the box rented out for RSNN officials for the big game with far too much space - and plenty of drink - they hashed out their ballots and good old Borris entered them into a system designed for personal use, nothing fancy, just what they could whip up on the spot, after which, everyone separated for a few hours to take all the time they needed to get this done right.

Presenting: The Class Of The Big 8
All-Conference Teams - Defense

First Team:
Bold Indicates a Unanimous Selection

Edge Jair Judge, Freshman, Lebois Santura University Broncos

The ‘Big Judge’ came in as the #10 recruit from Ranoria and it’s safe to say Jair delivered on expectations. Massive but quick at 6’8 280lbs, the Judge rips around the line and uses his long arms to bring his unfortunate mark down. The trio of Jair Judge, Mack King, and Alabaster Red was truly terrifying to offenses in the Big Eight this year and Bronco fans will be praying for them to run it back next year.

Edge Eli Asiata, Bingham Young University Miners

Eli Asiata, the formidable edge rusher for Brigham Young University, stands at a stout 6'2" and weighs 222 pounds, making his presence felt on the defensive front. Despite only being in his second year of college as a sophomore, Asiata has already earned recognition as BYU's first representative on the "All Big 8 Defensive" First Team. Renowned for his size, strength, and instincts, Asiata specializes in disrupting opposing offenses, particularly in shutting down run plays with his ability to block off lanes and clinch down on ball carriers. With his imposing physicality and knack for making impactful plays, Eli Asiata is a key asset to the Miners' defense, poised to continue making significant contributions on the field as he progresses in his collegiate career.

Defensive Lineman Mack King, Freshman, Lebois Santura University Broncos

Mack King came in as the most highly rated Cardenaoan defensive prospect and he immediately delivered on that for the Broncos. 43 combined tackles including 17 for loss and nine sacks as he showcased incredible speed to blow past every type of offensive linemen put infront of him. If he can build on this level of play, the search to replace Alabaster Red might be over before it got started, at least in terms of on-field impact. Mack is much more lighthearted, more of a partier than Big Red’s disciplined devotion to the game.

Defensive Lineman Roger Jackson, Richardson University Governors
A bit of a breakout season - Jackson wasn't a big name recruit or particularly impactful last season, just getting in twenty snaps on the year - but after an impressive training camp he may have been the best front four man on this team, with three sacks, nine tackles for loss, and making a huge impact pushing the pocket to help Julian Anneliese and Ojare Kahara rack up their own numbers.

Inside Linebacker Alabaster Red, Lebois Santura University Broncos

Alabaster Red is Alabaster Red, and he turned in another season to remember as he dominated offenses across the land. Tall, powerfully built, quick as shit, he can smash running lanes, he can bring the QB down, he can cover receivers and he can definitely pick the ball off, Big Red is the type of player that single handedly makes the defensive unit a highly competitive one. He’s a natural leader of men, demanding perfection and inspiring improvement amongst his teammates.

If he and Bobby Dials, both juniors, forgo their final year and head to the pro league, the Broncos will be in for a helluva rebuild.

Inside Linebacker Kerron Nicholas, Junior, Richardson University Governors

The big bad man in the middle for Richardson - Nicholas has the most imposing physique of any linebacker in the competition, towering over his opposition at 6'8". He's impossible to shed off a tackle as a result, and has shut down the run in a big way this season with more than eighty tackles in just ten games.

Cornerback: Munanaire Tembo, Sophomore, Richardson University Governors

Taking over the Governors' top corner spot is no joke - a room that pushed former top recruit Rodney Knight to play free safety and where Packard Goss has been an established presence, but Tembo did it. The youngster is well on his way to inheriting the legendary Makang Secka's title as "The Banijan Ballhawk."

Cornerback Kuresa Faasoo, Utah State Aggies
Kuresa Faasoo, the imposing cornerback for Utah State, stands tall at 6'3" and weighs a formidable 302 pounds, making him a rare and formidable presence in the secondary. In his third year of college as a junior, Faasoo has already established himself as a force to be reckoned with, earning recognition as Utah State's first representative on the "All Big 8 Defensive" First Team. Renowned for his size, strength, and versatility, Faasoo excels not only in coverage but also in run support, using his physicality to block off lanes and clinch down on ball carriers. His exceptional coverage skills have earned him a reputation for shutting down top targets, whether it's intercepting passes from BSU's Bobby Dials and BYU’s Jackson Zuercher. Or blanketing receivers like New Cardonia State's, Deacon St. John and BSU’s Saivion Ware. With his impressive athleticism and knack for making game-changing plays, Kuresa Faasoo is a major player of the Aggies' defense, poised to continue making a significant impact on the field throughout his career.

Free Safety Rodney Knight, Junior, Richardon University Governors

After being pushed out of a loaded cornerback room, Knight has excelled as a free safety for the Governors, with his background as a corner giving him excellent man coverage skills and presenting serious matchup issues in the defensive backfield as a result. The former top 2 reeled in three interceptions in the conference slate, and is projected as a mid first round pick in the upcoming draft.

Strong Safety Totte Lindberg, Senior, Richardon University Governors

Lindberg has emerged as the best player on this defense as a perennial DPOY candidate. One of two players remaining from this team's NSCF 27 breakthrough,

Nickel FS Mayo Rodriguez, Junior, LeBois Santura University Broncos

Mayo Rodriguez patrols the field like a defensive general, reading the offense, using his keen sense of anticipation and position to seemingly teleport to wherever the ball is going to be. After being a bench player in his underclassmen years, it all came together for the Mayo Man this year. Knocking balls away, making two vital interceptions, he can play an important role as a senior but with an all-conference selection under his belt, M&M might be looking pro.

Second Team:

Edge Ojare Kahara, Sophomore, Richardon University Governors + Edge Julian Anneliese, Sophomore, Richardon University Governors

Fitting that Richardson's twin pass rushers end up next to each other on this list. The two sophomores really came into their own in their second seasons after playing a rotational role with Shean Eckert as freshmen. The two racked up a combined sixteen sacks and nineteen tackles for loss as they provided the edge pressure to help an opportunistic defensive backfield feast on quarterbacks' errant throws. These two young men are undoubtedly on their way to stardom - if they continue on this path, the Governors may have two first round pass rushers in just over a year's time.

Defensive Lineman Terill Berry, Bingham Young University Miners

Terrill Berry, the imposing defensive tackle for Brigham Young University, has been instrumental in propelling the BYU defense to new heights alongside teammates Eli Asiata and LaFoy Benoit. Standing at a formidable 6'3" and weighing 280 pounds, Berry is a dominant force in the trenches. His ability to push offensive linemen back and close running lanes has been pivotal in stifling opposing offenses and solidifying the Miners' defense. With his relentless motor and formidable physicality, Berry has emerged as a true monster on the field, playing a key role in the success of the BYU defense.

Defensive Lineman Setu Fisto, Utah State University

Setu Fisto, the standout defensive tackle for Utah State, is a force to be reckoned with on the field. Standing tall at 6'5" and weighing in at 280 pounds, Fisto's imposing presence disrupts opposing offenses and alleviates pressure on the cornerbacks. His ability to clog running lanes and command double teams allows the corners to focus more on pass coverage, knowing that Fisto has the running plays under control. As he enters his final year, Fisto leaves behind big shoes to fill, but his legacy as a dominant force in the trenches will inspire other defensive tackles to step up and prove themselves in the seasons to come.

Inside Linebacker Nakobe Benton, Senior, New Cardonia State Thunderhawks

Nakobe Benton is a lethal tackler with his 6’6, 265lbs frame wrapping itself like a lead blanket around his unfortunate target. Sure, his mobility isn’t elite and he’s never going to be the best pass protector out there but…the boy can tackle and after tackling well for four years, it’s only fitting he makes an all-conference team as he surely heads to the next level.

Inside Linebacker LaFoy Benoit, Bingham Young University Miners

Inside Linebacker LaFoy Benoit the monster from Copperton, is representing BYU on the “All big 12 Defensive second team” he will be joined by some other Utah players with some Utah State and BYU guys joining him on the second team, the reason he was chosen for this is he knows how to sneak through O-linemen. As he leads BYU in sacks, and can move fast and over power O-linemen at his 6’6” stature and weighing in at 245 pounds. Although he knows what he is doing this is his last year as a BYU miner due to being on his last year of college and currently about to leave the school with a Major in history.

Cornerback Nicholas Hussain, Senior, Cold Hill University Buffalo

The South Newlandian junior has firmly established himself now as one of the best in the NSCF as one of the saving graces of a usually poor defense. To this point, much thanks to his leadership, the Buffalo defense is tracking a the second best in the NSCF in terms of points allowed, with his four interceptions in ten games certainly playing a key factor there. His ability to extend his frame and reel in freakishly athletic interceptions makes him a human highlight reel and an x factor on fifty fifty passes.

Cornerback Dominic Day, Utah State Aggies

Dominic Day, a standout cornerback for the Utah State Aggies, has rightfully earned his place on the "All Big 12 Defensive Second Team." Standing tall at an impressive 6'4" and weighing a robust 310 pounds, Day is a formidable presence on the field. Known for his physicality and relentless pursuit of the ball, he has earned a reputation as a wrecking ball in the secondary. Despite his primary role as a cornerback, Day's versatility was on full display when he managed to pancake BYU's Johnny Wall, a testament to his strength and tenacity. While Wall may have been momentarily distracted, Day's ability to capitalize on the opportunity speaks volumes about his skill and determination on the gridiron.

Free Safety Jair Kirkeby, Bingham Young University Miners

Jair Kirkeby, the dynamic free safety for Brigham Young University, possesses exceptional speed and athleticism, clocking an impressive 4.29 in the 40-yard dash despite his 203-pound frame and towering height of 6'4". His blazing speed allows him to cover ground quickly and effectively, making him a formidable defender against fast-paced offenses like that of NCS. Kirkeby's ability to track down speedy players and prevent big plays has been instrumental in shutting down opposing offenses, particularly those with a multitude of fast players. With his rare combination of size and speed, Kirkeby serves as a crucial asset to the BYU defense, ensuring that no play escapes his watchful eye.

Strong Safety Heinrik Dessler, LeBois Santura University Broncos

Another Chromatik freshman in Cardenao putting that work in, this time it’s 6’4 210lbs Heinrik Dessler who is quickly putting together a case to be the best coverage safety in Bronco history. Dessler’s long frame and nose for the ball helped him seek the ball out like a missile as he battered away 80 passes and picked off three more. The kid doesn’t shy away from contact and quickly picks up on the body language of the receivers, he’s a nightmare to play against.

Flex: (CB Andreas Sparrelind, Junior, New Cardonia State Thunderhawks - 3 points/Nate Hart - 3 points)

Andreas Sparrelind is an absolute ballhawk out of Tikariot, with the junior bringing elite speed and agility to the position. He might not be built like a shithouse as some other Big 8 cornerbacks are, but he’s got adequate size at 6’1 200lbs, and he has pretty solid tackle form to deal with any receivers if he somehow didn’t deny them the ball first.

Big 8 Most Promising Player: Quarterback Jackson Zuercher, Freshman, Bingham Young University Miners

Big 8 Offensive Player of the Year: Wide Receiver Saivion Ware, Sophomore, Lebois Santura University Broncos

Big 8 Defensive Player of the Year: Linebacker Alabaster Red, Junior, Lebois Santura University Broncos

Big 8 Most Valuable Player: Quarterback Bobby Dials, Junior, Lebois Santura University Broncos

Part 3: They did it!

“Now listen Borris,” Cardinho said, “I would’ve voted for Jackson Zuercher anyway just because, but for God’s sake,” he pointed to the big screen showing the ballot box, where Jackson Zuercher was listed twice with no competitors. “What kind of rigged game is this? Where’s Deacon St. John?”

Now, initially Borris went white in the face - the scandal, the horror, having to redo what must’ve been a half hour of inputting data all over again!? But all was well - because Cardinho and Myan Jensen broke the tension by laughing their asses off.

“Maybe we should have the networks pay someone who actually does this for a living next year, eh? Good work gentlemen.”

Presenting: The Class Of The Big 8
All-Conference Teams - Specialists

First Team:
Bold Indicates a Unanimous Selection

Kicker Freya Allison, Freshman, Lebois Santura University Broncos

Another Chromatik freshman, another All-Conference selection, this time it’s kicker Freya Allison. Affectionately nicknamed Big Frey, the 6’4 200lbs didn’t get a whole bunch of action for the Broncos but she was a deadeye for the season, not missing once. Beyond that, she’s continued to earn a reputation for laying out potential scorers on kick returns, going viral on several occasions for putting the boom on some unsuspecting souls.

Punter Gyman Haralos, Junior, Richardson University Governors
On a run-first team, Haralos got a lot of work and did really well - you can't score every drive, and Haralos helped out the NSCF's best defense by flipping the field every time he got the ball.

Second Team:

Kicker Jin Hayamoshi, Senior, Richardon University Governors
Hayamoshi has been as consistent as they come for these Governors - with just one missed PAT this season, he's posting one of the most accurate seasons in the program's history.

Punter: Daniel Samuel, Junior, New Cardonia State

Daniel Samuel earned a well deserved reputation for being one of the most accurate punters in the conference as he consistently put the ball in tricky spots for the opposition. A knack for precisely punting past the 20 makes things even better, and the junior could possibly make a little money doing this whole football thing if he so wanted

I go by Ran. Unless, of course, you want to type out Ranoria. That's your decision.

Adelhard Dynamics Dome
Pittsburgh, Ranoria - NSCF 30 Big 8 Championship Game

Isaiah Hunter gratefully accepted the helping hand of Clay Lindsey to pull him off the turf. He pulled the turf from his facemask, looking back to see a practically rabid Alabaster Red celebrating his sack, then out into the stadium around them. Seeing a deflated mostly-Ranorian crowd prompted him to shake his head before looking back to the sideline for the play call. With third and long this late in the game, he knew it was time for him to step up, and anyone with a brain could see Hunter looked completely unfazed at a fourteen point deficit with ten minutes to play.

The senior quarterback rolled his neck and took his place under center, offering a quick glance to the Broncos defense. One call, he took the snap, faked a handoff to big Ragnar Sampson and rolled out to his right before floating one to Mugisha Mulogo on a corner route, dropping it right in the breadbasket before the safety came down to wrap him up. Mulogo signaled for the first down with a flourish, and all of a sudden the Broncos defense had no answer for this passing game. Alabaster Red had been a demon against Richardson's beastly pair of runners, but their back seven couldn't seem to cover everyone long enough to get Isaiah Hunter on the ground as the veteran picked them apart, capping off the drive with a thirteen yard score to freshman tight end Hezekiah Thomas, slipping out after faking a run block on yet another play action shot.

Bobby Dials would try to answer - the Big 8's newly minted most valuable player had struggled to put up his usual numbers against this team, but had his Broncos in the driver's seat to be the first team since Raynor in NSCF 18 to take the Big 8 crown out of Ranoria. And they weren't going to sit here and go into a shell praying to get to the end - they wanted to put the nail in the coffin here. Bobby took a seven step drop on first down, immedietely looked to who else but Saivion Ware, stepped up and ripped the ball downfield. Now, this Governors backfield is notorious for taking the ball away, boasting four players with three or more interceptions. Packard Goss had given up a step to the wideout's backbreaking speed, but his length usually allowed him to make up some of that ground. Not with Dials, not tonight - Goss got full extension and his fingertips just barely grazed the ball, making it a wobbly catch for Ware before he took a shot from Rodney Knight. Ware just managed to skid one toe in bounds before he hit the ground and rolled to a stop on the sideline, and all of a sudden they were ten yards away from putting in a field goal to make this a two score game again.

Dials had all the moxie in the world to rally the troops after that forty one yard bomb, and went for a quick slant to Ware again, only for cornerback Munanaire Tembo to nearly take it the other way.

After linebacker Kerron Nicholas swallowed up a run for no gain on second down, they risked losing a lot of momentum if they failed to convert - and the defensive front would make it so. Dials stepped up to avoid the pressure from Julian Anneliese off the edge only for big Roger Jackson to ragdoll the linemen trying in vain to stop him. He'd proceed to bury the star quarterback under well over three hundred pounds of corn-fed farmboy, and forcing the Broncos to punt on what had looked like a potentially game ending drive.

And so out came Isaiah Hunter and company. For the first time since Ice Chineze's tenure, they'd do it without a running back - the Governors came out in a five wide look, giving their four year starter complete command of the offense and making it impossible for Lebois Santura to disguise what they were doing. Combine the lack of film on the formation with Hunter's experience at this level, it was like dialing the difficulty down a notch.

He didn't miss once on the drive - hitting Hughie February, Mugisha Mulogo, Lukas Müller, and Mugisha Mulogo again for consecutive first downs to get things started before a checkdown to February for four yards would end that particular streak. The Broncos were clearly on their heels, and it'd be the sixth pass that would tie this one up - Hunter hit Mulogo on a mid range seam route, and with a full head of steam, the big tight end muscled his way through two defenders before he found himself in the end zone, holding the ball in the air overhead with a triumphant shout as Hunter shot his sideline a thumbs up.

The Broncos would run out of time on their bid to win this one in regulation - and Richardson got the ball first in overtime.

After so much passing, they ran a draw play, but Alabaster Red was all over it, flying into the a gap to bring Ragnar Sampson down. The big back made one jump cut to the b gap, then when that was full too, he grabbed his big tackle in Lee Maverick and used that pillar of a man to propel himself as he bounced to the outside. Jair Judge couldn't quite close the gap, and poor Mateo Marino got a face full of stiff arm that flipped him one-hundred eighty degrees in the air, planting him on his face and leaving Bo Barnett completely helpless against the coming storm - Sampson lowered his shoulder and blasted through Barnett's chest to get into the end zone, preferring to level the safety rather than go around him.

After leaving the wake of that destruction behind him, Sampson squeezed the ball in his hands and roared, his imposing musculature rippling at the tension, then flapped his arms twice - a call back to his time in Ratzupalfu as an egretfriend, and by extension an elefriend, just not the red kind.

So when the PAT went through - you got the matchup you wanted all along, because if either coaching staff had been asked about which unit they wanted on the field with the game on the line, the Broncos would have gone with their offense, and Richardson the defense. The third best offense and the best defense, respectively, in the NSCF.

Dials hit Saivion Ware first, managing to pick up seven yards before the secondary swarmed him, but Isaiah Hunter was relaxed, kicking his feet up on one of their empty coolers with a grin.

Anthony DeWitt got the handoff on second down, picking up one tough yard with Kerron Nicholas meeting him in the hole, and Bobby Dials was flushed out of the pocket on third down - barely managing to get the ball out of his hands with safety Totte Lindberg making a beeline for him.

Fourth and two was manageable - maybe even a running down, but with this front seven, maybe not. And no coach was going to take the ball out of his best player on the most important play of the season to this point.

Dials took a moment to calm his nerves, but it wouldn't matter. He barely caught the snap before Ojare Kahara was on him, having ducked right under his blocker. He leapt on Bobby's back, and while he managed to stumble around for a moment, trying desperately to find a target, Julian Anneliese would play clean up, launching a shoulder through the Broncos star's chestplate with all the force he could muster and knocking the ball out as the three ended up in a tangle of bodies. Bobby managed to wriggle his way out, and reached out for the ball only for Anneliese to dive on it, cleating the passer's hand in the process - thankfully his non-throwing arm.

The two pass rushers headbutted each other when they finally got to their feet, and Adelhard Dynamics Dome roared with the crowd's jubilation - sure, those in blue were collapsed, sagged and lifeless in their seats at the collapse, but those in red couldn't have bee happier - thee Governors had delivered their first Big 8 championship since NSCF 26, Isaiah Hunter's first and Kasen Harrowitz's second.

Hunter would be the man to take the stage with his team, of course earning the game's MVP trophy after throwing a pair of touchdown passes to guide his squad all the way back - and his message were clear. "We couldn't be happier, winning this conference is always the first of our big goals for the year, and it's the first time in my tenure that we've gotten it done. Next on the checklist is the Blue Thunder, and then we're coming for it all!"

Quick Hits
- After suffering a minor wrist injury against Richardson, QB Paul Shepherd is expected to miss Cold Hill's game against Felswyr State University.
- Viktor Rowles will start against a vengeful Firehawks team in week 11 - does he have a path back to a full time starting role? With the stark difference between his and Shepherd's production, it's doubtful, but if he can light up the NSCF 29-runners up, it'll at least draw some eyes his way.
- Richardson's offense is certainly feeling the absence of the NSCF 29 OPOY. Rylan Rodgers Jr. scored 26 total touchdowns last season and tallied over 2500 yards combined between rushing, receiving, and passing. Thanks to his dominant play, the Governors averaged more than 32 points per game through the conference slate - the best in the Big 8. This season, Richardson's averaging 23.8 ppg - still very solid for a team of their style, but that stark difference is indicative of the generational talent they had fielded.
- With their win, Richardson continues a streak dating back to NSCF 19 of the Ranorian teams controlling the Big 8, and builds on the second-best tally in Big 8 history with 6 conference titles
